Hit the Hay

Whumpee struggled against the ropes coiled around their chest. They had to get out of the chair. Had to be able to fight back against Whumper. 

Whumpee had thought they had been careful when they snuck into Whumper’s warehouse base. Had thought they had taken enough care to make sure they were undiscoverable. 

Whumpee had been wrong. 

They had quickly been discovered and before they could fight back completely, they had been subdued and tied to the chair. Whumper stalked towards them, eyes cool, face flat. “What do we have here?”

“Let me go!” Whumpee didn’t stop their struggling. 

“I’d rather think not, Whumpee. Not when you saved me the trouble of finding you.”

Whumpee froze. Whumper had been looking for them. “What do you want with me?”

“Oh to have fun.” Whumper cocked their head. “Though I can’t imagine it’ll be much fun for you.”

Before Whumpee could fire off a witty retort, Whumper pounced on them, shoving an eye mask over Whumpee’s head. Whumpee thrashed wildly as Whumper duct tapped their mouth shut. 

“MMMMMHPHRRRR!” Whumpee growled through the tape. 

“Language,” Whumper whispered in their ear. “Though I imagine you won’t have much use for that after this.” And they placed noise cancelling headphones over Whumpee’s ears. 

Suddenly Whumpee’s dark world became silent. The silence quickly becoming all consuming as Whumpee tried desperately to free themself. Free themself from the ropes. Free themself from Whumper. And most of all, free themself from the dark quiet that completely enveloped them.

Ok, but in a world where Timothy Jackson Drake never existed, "Drake" would be a great hero/vigilante moniker for him to go by.

"But, EKat," you ask. "How would Tim be a hero/vigilante if he never existed?"

My reply, my dear reader, is Dimension Travel!

You see, in a world without a Tim, Tim would have the perfect opportunity to use the moniker "Drake" (aka his last name) to honor his deceased parents. "Wouldn't his last name be Drake still?" I don't see why he wouldn't just use Alvin Draper or drop "Drake" from his name and use "Wayne" or "Jackson" as his last name instead.

He wouldn't want to call himself "Tim Drake" because it could call attention to the fact that he looks oddly similar to Jack or Janet Drake (fuck the comics that make him look weirdly dissimilar to his parents) and wouldn't it be awkward to look at your parents and be like "hi, I'm your son that you never actually had because I'm from an alternate universe. Also, you both are dead in my universe."? And if they aren't together that would bring up a whole other slew of issues that Tim wouldn't want to deal with ever.

Calling himself a "Wayne" could end up getting Batman's attention faster. Which could be great as long as it's not one of the worlds where Batman is evil. It could also be bad because it's Batman. Also, depending on who's working with him, things could end up becoming a whole mess that could have been avoided by just Not using the Wayne name.

Jackson would make sense because Jackson. He is Jack's son. It would work really well with the "honoring his parents" thing. Although I'm a firm believer of Tim not having a favorite parent, so he'd want to do something to even out the fact that he'd be honoring his dad twice and his mom only once. He would absolutely make a new cover called "Janice" (he's got another cover identity that's a woman so it makes sense. also, don't ask me about last names for this identity, i didn't put that much thought into it. someone else should absolutely do that though.)

As for Alvin Draper, Tim using his cover identity makes sense in a scenario where he's been assuming that there's already a Tim in the new universe and he doesn't want the entirety of Gotham to catch on - just family. By the time he's figured out that there's no Tim in the new universe, he might have just committed to using the name for Reasons™.

Naam to suna hi hoga (a million apologies for any of the self entitled Sharma's you might have encountered...) Technically speaking intro dena humko aata nahi kyunki hum hai distracted ultra pro max insaan. Bakte bakte kab kahan kis tangent pe nikal jate humko khudko pata nhi hota. The thing is don't be surprised if you randomly find words that don't make sense (they do, just not to you) cause I'm a multilingual insaan with a few words of lotsa languages thrown into my vocabulary making a right khichdi of words and feelings up there. But then again sometimes I don't even understand what's going on up there myself so we can drink to that. (I don't drink. We'll be getting high on jaljeera and air)

As for this blog, it's a metaphysical (is that the right word?) representation of me (I guess?) Not really sure. Definitely this insanity is a part of me. But is not all of me. I mean agar khudko utna accha se jaan hi liya hota to phir zindagi me confusion thori hota. Chale gye hote hum bhi kahin pahado me zindagi ke sach ki khoj me. As for the people I have met here. They are downright amazing. Maane kya hi bataye. Simp karna ho, ya laash thikane lagane ke upaay dhundna ho, they will have my back.
