You know when I think of JO fanart I think of you right? When I picture Jure's little cat smile I think of your kitty mouths? You have a very noticeable style and holy shit you draw quick and a fuck tonne!! I adore everything you make and if you have no fans it means I'm dead.

I get wanting them to see your work. They get hundreds of tags every day and Nace is the only one who actually reposts shit. We can't say how they feel looking at it. Maybe they share it with the others or really really enjoy it but don't repost for whatever reason. We can't assume they don't like it at all just because they don't share it.

It's pretty special they even do look at it, they don't have to be as involved with their fans as they are. I get being jealous and wondering why other people get shared and not you but that's not a reflection of the quality of your work. I dunno why they share some and not others but there's no point trying to guess cause we'll never know.

The first paragraph still makes me tear up sometimes it is so freaking sweet 😭. Especially the part about Jure’s smile 🥹. I feel like I’ve lost the drive to make art quickly (I say knowing full well I drew six sketches for the fanart meme this weekend) and that was my entire thing as an artist as some point: Not being the best but at least being quick. Now I’ve seen way more people quicker than I that keeps up the quality, so I am not sure if that point still stands with me being quick and productive. Never the less I still really appreciate these words <3

The next part is funny to read back on since I did end up being blessed by Nace in the end – twice in a row 😱😭. I’m still probably insufferably happy about that and he owns part of my heart for all he does for the fandom, I mean as you say yourself he (and the others) doesn’t have to be involved yet he chooses to be. And that’s pretty special for sure.

If there was any favored activity in UNIT when they faced a lull in exciting events (which was to say, the Master had no more plots for the moment, or simply wanted to cuddle his husband for a bit longer), it was trying to beat the Doctor at chess.

Yes, the Doctor was awful at checkers. And Monopoly. And Scrabble. And whatever dusty old games the Brigadier kept around for a rainy day.

But for some reason, chess was where he shone.

Luckily for Jo, she had a strange, untapped skill for the game too. Something about the web of strategy. Or possibly, she was just good at reading the Doctor. Either or.

The Master hit the table. “Checkmate! And that’s…” He checked his watch. “…Eighteen and a half minutes. Your go, Miss Grant.”

Jo took over his place across from the Doctor and began to place her pieces on the checked board. “Eighteen minutes?”

“He cheated,” the Doctor grumbled.

“No,” said the Master, leaning on the back of Jo’s chair, “You, my dear, are a sore loser.”

The Doctor did not reply to that, and instead moved a piece of his. “Jo,” he prompted.

Jo sucked her teeth. “Hmm.”

“That pawn. No, the other one,” said the Master.

“You hush up. You played, it’s my turn.”

The Master made a little hmm noise. “I may offer advice if I wish.”

“You may shut up, too,” Jo murmured.

They played in silence for some time. Jo furrowed her brow. “Check.”

“No.” The Doctor tapped the top of his king.

“Ah.” Jo smiled. “Checkmate.”

The Master cried out from behind her. “Thirteen and ten seconds,” he said, obvious frustration in his voice. “How?”

“I’m better than you,” said Jo, standing up and pushing the chessboard away. “You want a try?”

“More chess and I’ll rip my hair out,” the Doctor complained.

“It may be an improvement,” mused the Master, and the Doctor glared at him across the table.

“Let’s take a walk. Master.”

The Master drilled his fingers on the chair. “Was that a Master Go Get My Coat For Me Master, or a Master Make Out With Me Outside Master?”

Jo flushed. She had not needed to hear any of that.

“The former, please. Jo, would you like to join us?”

Depends, what are you doing? “Maybe?”

“Come along, Miss Grant. I’ll show you the ducks I found,” said the Master, hopefully.

“Oh, all right.”

“I’ll have to find a way to get back at you for chess, too.”

“I’m the one who lost,” said the Doctor.

“Just so long as you want to advertise that,” said the Master. “You sound extremely proud of the fact.”

The Doctor stood and walked around to plant a little kiss on his cheek. Jo grimaced. “Come on.”

Jo followed them out the door. “We’ll be back soon, Brig!”

 As of present, Meg had no plans on attacking Jo, as she would’ve in the past, but she was definitely more than prepared for self defense. Revenge was more to be expected, at this point.

 “You look….” { pissed. } “alive.”

 "Nothing important? Then, why…?"

 "Oh, just barely survived that wound, thank you very much. Dean found a thicker shirt to hold my insides together, until they called the hospital to come patch me up.”

 She fingered the tip of the shotgun, hoisted onto her hip, ready to shoot Meg if she needed to.

 "Thanks for the help," She said, cleaning her hands off on her jeans. "I’ve been trying to swing by, but you know how busy we get.

 "—-It’s no problem at all." Jo knew how having too much mess around could motivate one considerably less.

 "Totally understandable! What have you been working on?"

 "Yeah…! Been tending the bar with Ellen. I just wish, I could branch out more, y’know? Do more hunting, like my Father used to do."

 “Did you just say..?” Meg could’ve sworn Jo had just repeated the phrase Castiel called had her during their time at the hospital. She really had never been one for poetry and simply gave a single nod to the blonde woman’s words.  

“Mmmmm,” the demon mused, they really aren’t the friendliest of beasts, you should be glad you don’t have to put up with seeing them. And hey, I’ll be sure to run past for a discounted beer sometime. I’ll hold you to it.”

As Jo spoke about her mom, another wicked smile crawled across Meg’s features. “That’s a shame, I’ve always had such a soft spot for her; she’s so …resilient." There were tones of sarcasm very evident in the demon’s words.

“Me..? I’ve only been on the run; since you guys locked my father away again hell’s been on a rampage. The new head honcho isn’t exactly to my taste, and apparently having opinions isn’t allowed in the pit. So to be honest I’m sort of running for my life…

 No big deal.”

 "—-Hmm? You mean, thorny beauty? Oh yeah, I heard Cas describe you as one, once. Or twice."

 An understatement. Jo thought, in annoyance. Violent and brutal, these beasts were. She then tilted her head in confusion, at Meg’s next words. “You don’t like how your hellhounds look? Aren’t they your ‘pets’? Alright, I’ll make a note to discount your beer.”

 Jo didn’t like the sarcasm heavy tone in Meg’s words. “And resilience is a bad thing, how?”

 "It couldn’t be helped; Azazel needed to be stopped. Who’s the new head honcho, that English suit guy? What was his name…Crowley?"

 "Oh, wow, uh, we can try to hide you from the demons?” That was quite a big thing to run from, all these demons out to sic Meg. She could only hope that they didn’t find Meg, and she could try to help her as well.

 "Maybe disguise yourself?"

 REO Speedwagon was a very important musical influence on Jo’s life, she’d admired how Kevin sang from the very depths of his soul and heart. Her Father had loved listening to REO as well, when he was still alive.

 Pushing the door open, she stepped out into the cool night air, pausing before looking at the blonde. “‘M Ruby. An’, I’m pretty sure you’re supposed to be tryin’ to exorcise me right now.” Weirder things had happened, she had to remember that.

Looking around their surroundings, Ruby pointed over Jo’s shoulder, shrugging lightly.

 “Over there seems a little less…Aggressive?”

 "—-I s’pose it’s nice to meet you, Ruby."

 Jo nodded, that was true what Ruby said. “I would be exorcising you right now…but you don’t seem so bad a demon.”

 She never thought she would have ever uttered these words, but there they were.

 Jo turns around to see what Ruby was pointing at, a significantly smaller cafe. “Yes, much quieter…”

 Jo said shortly, as she spotted the blonde demon. After their last meeting which had involved Meg’s hellhounds ripping into Jo’s stomach, Jo didn’t fancy seeing Meg ever again.

 "What are you doing here?”

Ruby watched for just a moment, eyebrows raising as she quickly downed her drink. Six dollars, it wasn’t about to be wasted.

 "Even I’m not dumb enough to get involved in that.." Spinning in her seat, she nodded to the growing crowd, feet touching down on the sticky wooden floor, hands zipping her jacket up.

        ”Yep. Time to go.”

 Jo was relieved when she heard the demon’s response, and quickly snatched up her own bag up from the nearby stool. More shouting and swearing could be heard from the table as well, and onlookers were gathering to witness the riot.

 "Okay, where shall we go…? I’m Jo, by the way." She supposed that being with a demon wasn’t the smartest idea, but this one didn’t seem so bad.

”You really think so?” Meg asked, a wicked grin tugging at the corners her own mouth. “Well, that is awfully nice of you to say so.” She gave her flower filled hair a quick toss before taking a little step closer to Jo, a characteristic hip swing in her stride as she grinned up at the young blonde.

The demon could read her like a book; through practice Meg picked out the uncertainty on her face with little effort; she knew the expression only too well in these situations, and decided to play on it. “I must say though, you’re looking good these days considering our minor history. Looks like you’ve been keeping away from those smoggish hell dogs; I don’t blame you.”

 ”What have you been up to since we last bumped hips?

      And ooh, hows old Momma Harvelle doing?”

 Jo nodded, the flowers certainly did seem to suit Meg. “A thorny beauty…” She recalled overhearing Castiel tell Meg this, a few times. Jo thought it was a very accurate description.

 Jo’s eyes flickered uncertainly a little, as Meg stepped closer to her, but she stood her ground.

 Jo narrowed her eyes a bit upon hearing Meg mention the hellhounds, but she continued smiling. These hounds were truly the devil, and Jo didn’t fancy meeting them again or having her stomach ripped apart by them. “Thank you…and of course, these dogs of yours aren’t very lovable,” Jo replies, a little snarkily.

 "I’m back to working in the Roadhouse with my mother, and sometimes I work with the Winchesters on cases. Ellen’s fine. She still doesn’t trust you, though…"

 "And you…?"
