Every time I rewatch S1E2 Guess Who's Coming To The Wedding?, Dorothy's behaviour hits me harder. Not just how she acts around Stan (that final speech, oh my god Bea Arthur you magnificent actress), but how she acts around Kate and the whole premise. She's so excited about the wedding!! She's always wanted to give Kate a great wedding!! She says "Your wedding day should be the most beautiful day of your life" and you know she's been dreaming about her baby's wedding day ever since her own. You know she's desperately trying not to think of how anxious she felt, how trapped, how terrified, how chocked she was when she herself walked down the aisle. She says "And I just hope that you and Kate have all the happiness in the world!" and you can just see the memories of those 38 years of her life shoot through her mind, you can see her hold on to all the happy moments she can and pray that Kate's marriage is nothing but good years and happy Christmases. And the way her voice chokes up when she says goodbye to Kate?? "Now, listen, you be a good wife, you hear? Be his friend, be his lover. Don't be his slave!" Do you think these are the things she told herself during her marriage? Do you think these are the things people told her and she desperately tried to be all that -- to be the perfect friend, to be the perfect lover, so her marriage would work? Do you think that don't be his slave! was a desperate plea -- don't accept it all, don't stay no matter what he does, don't be like me? Listen this is just a rant and I am going nowhere with this but the truth is Dorothy is the strongest woman who ever lived on television and I love her so much and I want to bundle her up in a nice blanket and go beat up Stanley Zbornak with a baseball bat!!!! God!!!!!!

personally i tried wedding impossible but it just wasn’t for me! sure its cute but i was satisfied just watching in gifs … drama of the year? mmmm idk we have a LOT of good dramas lined up this year. queen of tears now?? now THAT is what i’d consider being drama of the year!

I must be in the biggest kdrama slump ever cause I ALSO am behind on Queen of Tears which is wild cause I LOOOOVE Kim Ji Won so much. What is wrong with meeee?

I AM watching Killer paradox which I have mixed feelings about but since another person is watching it with me I'll keep at it.

I literally cannot WAIT for the time slip drama Lovely Runner featuring the incredible bestest girl Kim Hye Hoon (extraordinary you) and super pretty Byeon Woo Seok. I've been waiting so long for a drama that can be my new obsession!

I've never been this unsure of what I feel about certain characters before. These two truly play in a very morally grey area where im not sure of what to think about them. I understand that both of them have reasons to act the way they are, him being mentally abused by his in laws and also his wife to a certain extent so i can't really blame him for being happy that his wife is diying but to change his actions completely and "showering her with love", just so she would change the will and put the store in his name is sociopath behaviour and I dont know how long ill be on board with this(not that i completely agree but ill give him a pass for now) .

We don't really know why the wife is acting this way and what made their relationship turn so sour cus it can't just be because of the in-laws. I guess we'll find out as the show progresses but rn I'm conflicted as there are sides to the husband that are not bad and he truly did love his wife once. I also love how he has a very compassionate side to him as seen in both the episode (warning the shop manager about the eviction laws before hand in ep 1 and the hunting scene in ep2 where he refused to kill an animal 'just because' and scared the deer away instead), we also see him coming to his wife's rescue at the end where he could have easily just let the boar kill her. I don't think he's completely fallen out of love with her.

I'm also not sure why the wife doesn't show her affection towards her husband when she's clearly still very much in love with him but i guess we'll find that out later

I have very high hopes for this drama as we are only on ep2 and have a long way to go so i'll stick with it for now but if they don't have some major developments that make me root for them I might drop it soon.

i haven't seen one single kdrama this year that i fully enjoy from beginning to end. they all start great and end up being mid at most 😔
