Due to jokes with my friends I have attempted to recreate Basilâs hair clip by clipping one clip onto another.
#not perfect but Iâm not going to a craft store to do this for a joke#brain soup#omori basil#pretty much the joke started when one of my friends said he was just like sunny because he dresses the same#that was a thing for ages then because I have a history of being into photography and plants(and jokes about hiding the body)#I said I was pretty much basil. that was a couple months ago. help. Iâm stuck here. but at least itâs getting me back into old hobbies!#like I genuinely have not done a bit of gardening or photography since quarantine and now I have a reason to and it genuinely makes me happy

you should watch the owl house
I appreciate what youâre trying to do man but I donât need yâall advertising fandoms or shows to me. Replacing a homemade vase that broke with another new one, while nice, will not fix the fact your sentimental homemade vase which you canât really just remake broke, or something.
Also I just donât like the Owl House fandom and I personally donât really get that invested in characters younger than me. Sorry.
#asks#anon#idk the dsmp had something really unique. something that was partially crafted by the fact it came out initially in quarantine#it and the fandom were really special to me#i dont think they can be easily replaced. at least not rn#and idk im still heartbroken over the ending. i dont need a new thing to fill that void. nothing could#oh and also i have already seen the show

âNorth of Ford Lane a heron stood knee-deep in snow. The Gale did not rock him; His long gray feathers were unruffled, regal, and frozen and dead. he stood to the wind in his thin sarcophagus of ice. Already he seemed to be dynasties away from me. I have outlived him, as a gibbering ape outlived the dinosaur.âÂ
J.A. Barker The Peregrine
#Ok so this was the quote I was talking about which is my theory about vampires as per my twilight fanfiction from quarantine#A humanâs ability to age means that as they age further from the point at which a vampire died they become actually experientially older#A being can be immortal and have more time to put things off to be left unchanged by anything#Where a being in a position of consistent forced change ie time can see that immortal as a whippersnapper.#There isnât inherent wisdom in more time. Some people are just dumb the whole time god bless.#none of these are new sentiments but this quote makes me feel so just SO ya know?#Oh shit wait#tw animal death#tw death#animal death#and some people do more with less time#Anyway this book makes me lose it. Maybe I should listen to it at work and really bring a#đď¸đđď¸ energy to the craft store

Went to a big quilting convention today and am feeling inspired so here's todays edition of
What the fuck do you mean that's a quilt??
Most people have no idea about how much craft goes into quilting or how much quilting as a craft, art, and even a science has been evolving in recent years. So here's my personal appreciation post
And btw the flat images do NOT even do these quilts justice, especially in terms of the absolutely amazing and detailed texture embroidery that a lot of quilters are using these days. Up close the texture and the sheer detail of many of them is just stunning
These are all from the Road to California quilt show 2023
1st Place: Portrait
Title: Sharing the Moment Maker: Hollis Chatelain Quilter: Hollis Chatelain Design Basis: Maker's Original Design African-American women are a powerful force in motivating their families and communities to vote. I wanted to create a piece about this and highlight the fact that African-American women did not receive the right to vote in all 50 states until 1965 when the Voting Rights Act was passed. I met Phyllis at a rally. I was drawn to her and asked if she would be my model. Without hesitation she said yes. She later brought her friend Loretta with her.
1st Place: Naturescape
Title: Augustinii Maker: Andrea Brokenshire Quilter: Andrea Brokenshire Design Basis: Maker's Original Design âAugustiniiâ is a blue/purple variety of rhododendron my momma planted within her forest garden. I was lucky to be home on when it was in bloom. When I see this quilt, I am reminded of my momma and how she loves to tend her garden and âgrub in the dirt.â
1st Place: Pictorial
Title: Leap of Faith Maker: Kestrel Michaud Quilter: Kestrel Michaud Design Basis: Original design In this Steampunk fantasy world, men and women have taken to the skies on ships held aloft by hot air, ingenuity, and luck. Faithâs favorite past-time is bungee-jumping off the side of her airship, with Bubo, her pet clockwork owl. This quilt depicts the photo Faith took on her latest jump to test her brand-new camera and selfie stick.
2nd Place: Naturescape
Title: Homage to Birches Bare Maker: Jessica Noble Quilter: Jessica Noble Design Basis: Fabric recreation of Kesler Woodward's Birches Bare, acrylic on I fell in love with Kesler Woodwardâs Birches Bare painting and knew I had to create it in fabric. I cut about 1,700 pattern pieces out of freezer paper and then fused fabric, through the fall of 2019 until the pandemic started. During this time, I homeschooled my two children and the quilt sat in quarantine. I quilted this freehand on my midarm in the winter of 2021. I managed to take the majority of the summer of 2022 on the binding.
2nd Place: Pictorial
Title: Toroweap Overlook Maker: Sandra Mollon Quilter: Sandra Mollon Design Basis: Derived from a photo Toroweap Overlook, in the Grand Canyon National Park, is an incredible view of the Colorado River. When John Slot sent me the photo to consider for an art quilt, I realized the complexity of the amount of the pieces it would require, but knew I had to do it. Raw edge fused, machine quilted, small amounts of media.
3rd Place: Pictorial
Title: Catch it Yuri! Maker: Hiroko Miyama and Masanobu Miyama Quilter: Hiroko Miyama Design Basis: Maker's Original Design Inspired by dogsâ action. Yuri, golden retriever big jumped to catch a ball and Ponta, mix hardly waited his turn. Dogs and girl were fused appliquĂŠd.
Seriously can you believe these are all quilts!!! incredible amazing showstopping spectacular
#I said today's edition but this is in fact the only addition#so far!#might make another one when they put up the winners from this year#which will hopefully be in the next few days#quilting#quiltblr#fiber crafts#fabric art#fiber art#fibercraft#textiles#quilt art#quilt making#quilts#textile art#fibre arts

I'm not one to post doodle pages but I thought this would be a nice way to introduce you guys to my au storyline (since I'm possibly maybe planning to write a fic based on it)
Welcome to my Showstopper AU!
(more info under the cut)
Of course it's a y/n and Sun&Moon centred story but with?? plot??? Wowza!
y/n and the boys meet all the way since their Superstar Theater days, where y/n was part of the crew that worked alongside the theater assigned animatronic (that's the boys!). Sun was the original theater attraction, with built-in extra parts and quirky bits to play different characters for his one-man-shows (he even had a full villain transformation when the lights went out!); but after a couple months, the technicians were surprised to discover that a fully conscious secondary AI had developed by its own accord inside the same bot. So in comes Moon! A product of a few crossed wires and some too-smart protocols that the techs couldn't wrap their heads around.
After bad experiences with P&S, the boys grew scared of people, weary, and skittish, it affected their performances. With Fazbear Co. breathing down their necks a new tech was assigned to make them work properly again; y/n's brother Charles was much more gentle and they eventually became very close friends. When y/n was hired it took a while for the boys to trust them given their past, but after seeing how passionate they were for their craft and (especially) how caring they were for the kiddos and everyone around them they warmed up to them.
They stuck to y/n like glue and in hopeless romantic fashion, they fell head over heels for them. However, after some unfortunate happenings, they never got the chance to confess. Y/n left Fazbear and took their heart with them.
In the 5 years they were gone life as they knew it crumbled around them. Fazbear was making questionable choices that affected all Pizzaplex inhabitants, suddenly a malfunction started to run havoc in their systems and before they knew it they were quarantined, completely alone and scared, everyone they cared for gone.
That is until y/n stumbled back into their lives. Working as a plex custodian now they are trying to pick up the pieces of the life they left behind when they walked out those doors. Whether they'll be able to rekindle their friendship, heal old wounds and forgive and be forgiven it's up to them.
#waaahhh#finally sharing this#honestly most of my dca content's context is this very specific idea of a scenario in my head#and now you know it too :)#dca x y/n#dca x reader#fnaf dca#dca fnaf#dca fanart#fnaf moon#fnaf sun#fnaf moondrop#fnaf sundrop#moondrop x reader#moondrop#moondrop fanart#sundrop x reader#sundrop#sundrop fanart#fnaf sb au#fnaf sb fanart#fnaf security breach#security breach#security breach fanart#security breach au#showstopper au#my art

What other mythological creatures would be fun in space? If the answer is "most of them?", Then limit the scope of the question to what becomes *more* fun in space?
Still "most of them," unfortunately.
Deep in the bowels of a derelict, drifting hulk, so battered with cosmic rays and space debris all sign of its original function have eroded away, something that could have been human roams the labyrinthine halls. Who knows what terrible crime or tragedy spawned it? It is huge, and hungry, and terribly, terribly alone. All anyone knows is that the drifting hulk that screams to the void in a hundred looping distress calls is to be avoided at all costs, for the maze is deadly and its lone prisoner even deadlier.
An enchanting woman knocks on the porthole with a broad smile, hair flowing in beautiful curls and mouth moving soundlessly in the boiling vacuum. She seems unaware of the inch-thick tempered plasteel, or perhaps unaware of its necessity for the mortal and the fragile within. As she stares unblinking, whispers begin to crackle over the ship radio, half-parseable snatches in many voices - surnames, stardates, coordinates. The knowledge is so, so tempting.
The astronaut is standing just outside the airlock. The sun is starting to sink behind the lunar horizon, cutting razor-sharp shadows across the silvery dust. He's been standing, patiently, for over four hours. The crew in the lander are huddled as far away from the door as possible, unconacipusly avoiding the astronaut's cold and vacant bunk. They had buried him, after all, three rotations ago, the special kind of dead you only get after decompression-induced exsanguination. And yet here he stands, looking better than ever, a healthy blush in his cheeks clearly visible without that bulky reflective helmet in the way. His eyes catch the setting sun strangely, almost red.
Space is an ocean, they say; the analogy is imperfect, and yet persistent in its poetry. The seafarers of old coasted along the surface of a vast and unknowable deep and called it sailing, and the spacefarers of the new frontier do the same. They speed between the stars or cut through wormhole gates for the occasional shortcut, skimming the three-dimensional surface of the vast four-dimensional space that wormholes can only tentatively pierce, and they are satisfied. But there are strange shadows in the stars, twisting and slow - distortions that ripple out from the hyperdepth and mostly pass without incident, barring the sensitive instruments left screaming in their wake. Nobody has ever seen the four-dimensional leviathans that cast these three-dimensional shadows. At least, nobody who's come back.
They call it a dragon because it flies and it's the scariest thing they've ever seen. It doesn't do it justice. If anything, trying to give it a familiar name only highlights its horrible uncategorizability. It flies, yes - or at least it undulates through atmosphere, seemingly irrelevant to its own mass. It has a golden hoard and breathes poison and fire, or rather the nuclear furnace that boils in its sinuous belly vomits out great gouts of poison fire that leaves stone and flesh as glassy slag and metals fused into radioactive gold. The land all around its lair is blackened and sick, a vile caldera of strange-colored swampland and twisted, fungal trees. In the absolute terror and devastation of its wake, the colonists fall back on old, bad superstitions and offer it a girlâŚ
The sorcerer took out his heart long ago, they say. This is true, but inadequate. His true body is shattered in closely guarded pieces to protect himself from a total death; the form he presents is only a projection of his will onto and through the nanite colony his machinations spawned, a body crafted by the immortal mind and will of one who sacrificed everything to be deathless. His heart is concealed in a small life support capsule in a long-forgotten laboratory in a satellite orbiting the moon of a quarantined colony world; his nervous system wires itself through the vast, organic computer that has taken the place of the planet's core. Backups of backups of backups, redundancies laced through every stolen system. He knows there was a purpose to this, once; a goal to all this sacrifice beyond a simple extension of life. He will never remember who he wanted this for. To be truly deathless, one cannot have a heart.
It's retroviral, they think. No other form of infection could've rewired her cells this fundamentally. It's irreversible without gene therapy, but at least she isn't deteriorating, they say. At least she's holding together while they look for a treatment. She can feel it, though, no matter what the medic says; sub-cellular or not, she can feel it boiling under her skin, sharpening her teeth, burning out from the site of the bite on her arm. And she can feel, with absolute certainty, the planet's two satellites slowly shifting into opposition with the sun, right through the windowless walls of the quarantine pod. She doesn't know what she'll become when the moons are full, but she doesn't speak her suspicions. A part of her - perhaps even a part that's always been there - is very, very eager to find out.
A colony was here once, a long, long time ago. Terraformed and everything, but those were the early days, before they realized you needed a magnetosphere to keep all that air and water from being wicked away by the solar wind. The loss was so gradual it didn't make sense until over a century later, and there wasn't anything they could do for them long-term - wrong kind of core for a polarization op. They did evac, of course, but the priority was low - and it was centuries deep into social development. Everybody on that world had been born there, and some of them didn't want to leave. Way I hear it, some of them insisted on staying - strongly and violently - and the folks in charge eventually got tired of losing troops in a dessicating backwater that was gonna solve itself in less than a century, so they just fudged the paperwork and washed their hands of the whole thing. It's near airless now - stopped being a viable colony world nigh on thirty years back when the last of the ice vanished. But that's not why we steer clear. We don't land there because the locals didn't have the decency to die right, and it can be damn unsettling to catch their shadows sneaking across the sand. They're drawn to ships, you know? Poor bastards still think they can leave.

iâve sent this request to river-rat69, but wanted to see how you would potentially interpret it >_>
exploring interests with jack and finding a common one? like art? perhaps?
just a cute idea idk
Finding common interests with Jack
Author note: That is super cute! I'm note sure if this is what you had in mind, but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless.
I will also note, I know a common opinion is that Jack is like a child in an adult body, but I always read him more as like an adult with minimal world or social skills.
Can be read as romantic or platonic.
Rating: General
Genre: Pure fluff
Please be kind to your mind â¤ď¸
I feel like if Jack wants to make a connection with someone, he will try anything at least once.
He's a 20-year-old who has never had to make friends before. Cas and the Winchesters are family, thats different. Friends he has to make an effort for. (At least in his head.)
If he thinks you really enjoy something that he doesn't, he wonât want to hurt your feelings. He wants you to like him.
So even if he doesnât enjoy something that much, heâll try to pretend.
Itâs up to you to figure that out and stop him from torturing himself.
Heâs too nice, loyal to a fault.
Although, the many sceptical questions and the suspicious looks are a dead giveaway.
âIs it supposed to smell this strong?â Yep âAnd I canât eat it?â No, Jack, itâs soap! âAnd weâre wearing gloves because? Itâs dangerous, yep, got it.â âIs this what a headache feels like? NO! Itâs fun! If you like it, I like it.â âIt takes HOW LONG to cure?â
Probably stay away from things like candle and soap making.
He likes stability, so I think having a set day each week, or a couple of hours each night to do stuff together, would be ideal for him.
Heâd love bonding over shared interests in films and TV.
He doesnât have to eat, but I think he would enjoy trying new foods.
So: having a weekly film night would be awesome. Where you can both veg out on the couch together, eat whatever new or different foods you find at the supermarket, and watch horror (primarily zombie) and/or sci-fi films together.Â
Or spend the weekend binge-watching The Walking Dead or The Cornetto Trilogy (+ Paul, non negotiable).
Video games too: Left 4 Dead, Fallout etc
Then fall asleep where you're lounging, talking about your faves and your fan theories.Â
I donât know that he would be into making art, per se, but I think he would like crafts.
I feel like Jack would really like those diamond painting thingies. Or just like, bedazzling things in general.
Like, I can see him contracting some weird cosmic-being version of the flu, being quarantined with an Angel!Reader and it being like that one episode of Malcolm in the Middle.Â
Also legos. Just things that take a lot of attention to detail, something that can take his mind off of the constant pressure he is under, that you can really focus on, but that has a cool pay off at the end.
Animation as well, both watching (more 2D stuff like Batman, Invincible, Nimona)
And doingâ probably more like stop motion, with again, legos, or claymodels.Â
(Iâm totally not projecting because I am an animation nerd)
He would, however, enjoy art galleries and museums.
Being able to admire and learn about things created by humans throughout history would be so astounding.
Would like to have you with him so you can observe, learn, and discuss together.
If youâre interested but unable to go with him, heâll memorise everything so he can relay it all to you later, or pick up a bunch of leaflets for you to read. Or heâll make a note of all his favourite parts so he can take you there another time.
He would have a similar sentiment if you are an artistic person.Â
He doesnât want to draw or paint stuff with you, but he would like watching you and your creative process (if you donât mind being watched)
Like absolutely fascinated by your ability to create something from nothing. Something that evokes emotion or tells a story â wow!!
Your number one supporter. Gift him your art, and heâll put it on his bedroom wall.
Those galleries I mentioned earlier, heâs buying you both tickets to go see your inspirations shows or displays.
Wants to look through all your old works, he doesnât care if that horse you drew when you were 12 is the wrong shape and has wonky eyes, he thinks its so cool that you tried, and practiced, and learned. Thatâs human ingenuity.
Youâre so cool.

Humans are weird: Quarantine Breach
( Please come see me on my new patreon and support me for early access to stories and personal story requests :D https://www.patreon.com/NiqhtLord Every bit helps)
The first the wider universe heard of the plague on Hydraxsis was when traders began returning to their home systems with tales of a massive human fleet hanging in orbit above the world denying all access to the planetâs surface. Transmissions declaring a state of emergency were relayed from the human flagship and stated that the situation was well under control but for the safety of the wider star community no one was allowed to land.
Naturally concerned with this and seeking to offer aid, many civilizations dispatched medical teams and diplomats to open dialogues for relief aid to begin flowing into the system. Yet once again all they were met with were the same transmissions from the flagship that a state of emergency had been declared and travel down to the surface was strictly forbidden.
The stonewalling tactics did not sit well with several of the diplomats, nor did the numerous jamming devices the humans had deployed in orbit above the world to block any communications to and from the surface as well.
When it became known that non-humans had also been trapped on the surface below by grieving families, the governments insisted that the humans open communications and allow relief efforts to be dispatched to the planet.
There was no reply save for the same transmission played again but this time emphasizing the final part with enlarged letters.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REACH THE SURFACE; THIS IS YOUR ONLY WARNING.
Further enraged and now knowing that several of their own citizens were trapped on the beleaguered world alien fleets began appearing to force their passage through the blockade.
They knew humans were stubborn; it was a core aspect of their primal nature that not even evolution could weed out. Yet it boggled the minds of the aliens why the humans would risk an open conflict over one world.
It wasnât until a Syndicate Hellbrute Dreadnought, leased to one of the grieving species for a considerable sum, appeared alongside the waiting alien armada did they feel ready to force the blockade.
The two fleets poised against each other as countless weapon bay doors rolled open to reveal their lethal contents. Countless targeting vectors were plotted while missile batteries prepared to unleash a torrent of finite death and destruction when suddenly the human fleet turned.
A lone transport shuttle came racing up from the surface.
Without a momentâs hesitation the entire human fleet opened fired on the tiny transport; completely ignoring the alien warships before them who in turned retaliated against the humans.
Terran frigates crumpled like wads of paper under concentrated fire and carriers were gutted from the inside as torment warheads detonated inside their ships through open launch bays, yet the human fleet gave no return fire to the aliens.
The tiny craft darted like a humming bird through the blizzard of weapons fire directed at it by the humans. Too small for the larger weapons to hit the craft wove its way through the terran fleet as it desperately made for the alien armada.
It had almost made it to the Hellbrute leading the alien fleet when a terran cruiser broke formation and rammed the tiny craft. Unable to avoid the massive size of the ship the transport slammed into the side of the cruiser and detonated in a fireball of destruction.
While the aliens pondered why the terranâs would so recklessly risk one of their larger ships in such a manner they were only further surprised why the same cruiser that had rammed the transport ship then detonated their own jump drives causing a small super nova to erupt between the two fleets.
A blinding shockwave of energy shot out and sent both fleets reeling in opposite directions. Colossal vessels were reduced to nothing more than logs in a rapid current as they battered against each other before finally coming to a stop several thousand kilometers away from where they had started.
The aliens began to reorganize their fleets for another battle but the humans merely returned to their blockade of the world. Only the flagship of the terran fleet remained and opened a direct communication with every alien vessel.
No words were spoken by the terran commander as he opened up a video file and played it. A grainy feed appeared to be from a street camera of some kind of a bustling city. Many assumed that it was from Hydraxsis and noted that it was dated several weeks prior when the blockade first was implemented.
The streets were full of bustling humans and aliens of every kind carrying on their day to day business when one human began convulsing rapidly while crossing the street.
Collapsing to the ground they spasmed so hard that fragments of bone could be seen breaking the skin. Worried onlookers either began backing away from the human or approaching them to try and assist them when the true horror began.
Emerging from the convulsing humans flesh came a thick swarm of tiny red insects. They moved like a stream of water and darted to those who had come forward to help the injured man. With barely enough time to let out a scream the swarm engulfed them in a red tide, dragging them to the ground as a general panic broke out.
Within moments more and more insects began pouring out of the new cadaverous tripling their numbers instantly and just as before began rushing those around them.
The feed then cut away to several days later of the same street as countless fires broke out amongst the buildings. The street was littered with battered and broken aircars while the roads themselves were paved with uncountable bones of victims.
A lone figure came sprinting down the street looking back the way they had come screaming. They made it three steps before tripping over what had been a human femur and falling to the ground as a swarm of insects filling the entire street side to side came down upon them like an onrushing river. The camera was ripped from its mounting by the sheer mass of the swarm and the feed went dead.
The commander ended the feed and addressed the gathered armada. Analyzing the tiny red insects their name was âAmbrogidus Flaxmaxusâ, or more commonly called âRed Deathâ.
A highly invasive species that burrows into living hosts laying thousands of eggs that can hatch within ten seconds to thirty years depending on as of yet to be determined conditions. Once hatched, the larva will eat the surrounding flesh before digging their way out in search of a new host and repeating the entire process with a new host.
Because of the unpredictable nature of the hatching process victims can sometimes carry larva eggs for years without ever knowing. This has made quarantining worlds or victims all but impossible as the eggs blend in with the hostâs flesh making them almost impossible to detect by scanners. Even the vacuum of space could not deter the insects as their shells were dense enough to resist the void while the insects themselves hibernated. This reason alone was why the terran cruiser detonated itself the moment it touched an infected shuttle. It was the only way to be sure nothing survived.
The humans admitted that they had been trying to spare the rest of the universe from this plague to contain potential chaos that could be unleashed. Several worlds ranging from small colonies to distant outposts had already fallen to the insect and there had been no designated counter agent for terminating the insects in sufficient numbers.
With a heavy heart the human stated that the âreliefâ fleet enroute was not coming to help the inhabitants below. It was a scientific fleet with the sole purpose of using the world as a testing ground on new chemical agents and weapons to try and kill the insects.
Even if there had been survivors below the humans had made it very clear.
No one was leaving that planet alive.

if you ever want to talk about your thoughts on joyce .. Peeks over the corner of your blog. i love talking and hearing ppls thoughts on joyce sooo much even if they're different from my own!! and your analysis and stuff is always so well thought out
i hope u dont mind if i answer this publicly to take advantage of th request nd get my ideas out ther (also tyvm im happy u like my insane takes on these idiots, iv ben thinking abt them for almost 10 years)
i said a lot here so gnna 'read more' it
iv ben building trans charlie n my head fr, like i said, nearly 10 years. i used to view him as cis bcuz i always try to take as much frm th source material as i can wen i craft my HCs nd i had v personal (stupid) hangups insofar as him explicitly referring to his junk multiple times nd bottom surgery simply not being on my radar as a naive littl trans idiot deep in th sauce tht transmen oftn fall into w phallo being viewed so so poorly
evn still i leaned towards transmasc charlie nd always lovd moments tht let me imagine, for a moment, it being true, like his discomfort w taking off his shirt [hundred dollar baby, charlie kelly: king of the rats, the gang exploits the mortgage crisis, young charlie and mac deleted scenes, etc etc etc], or bonnie yelling abt ppl stealing her "charlie-girl" [the waitress is getting married] which i lovd to see as her accidentally misgendering him while drunk off her ass.
having grown out of my phallo issues (nd if ur reading this and u still view phallo super poorly, please do some research and grow too), ive in recent years fully subscribed to transmasc/nb charlie, and view his timeline something like this:
baby -> elementary: charlie refers to himself as a boy, doesnt "come out," simply has no idea he's afab. bonnie lets him dress however he wants and refers to him as asked. when charlie gets confused about his genitals, bonnie says his dick will grow in later lol, makes charlie wear a dress in public restrooms and tells him its just a game
middle: puberty hits and charlie gets confused and scared. bonnie puts him on blockers w.o explaining them ("my mom used to vaccinate me like every month" [the gang gets quarantined]) charlie goes on content and oblivious. STP acquired because hes "a late bloomer" and his dicks still not growing in?? weird. confides this in mac once, but he doesn't understand.
high: charlie finally registers that he's trans after forgetting theres a health class 1 day and not being able to skip it. throws him for a loop a bit but he becomes actively invested in his goals. he gets to start T and wants to have surgeries. "what guy hasnt done some extensive research on his own genitalia?" [mac is a serial killer]
college (aged): able to surgically transition (ty medicare) and continues on with life as we kno him now
joyce, imo, fits neatly into these views.
as a transmasc nb who came out young nd prefers to be seen as just A Guy by strangers, i grew up v vehemently against anything girly that might get me misgendered, but th more i began to 'pass,' th more @ home n my body i felt, th more and more comfortable i am w femininity, th more i wdnt mind putting on a dress, as long as th general public wd see me as "a man in women's clothes." n my mind, i prescribe something not exactly th same but v similar to charlie.
i see charlie "i dont really identify" kelly as afab and nb. i see joyce as a "character" he originally created to distance himself from the dysphoria of putting on a dress as a young trans boy, but that became part of him as the hard lines he drew in the sand as a child became blurry with age and self acceptance. charlie's comfort with himself allows joyce to evolve into a more solid persona, one he enjoys embodying and allowing to become a permanent facet of who he is. he's ok with being referred to as either. they're both him.
so maybe joyce comes out a bit more outside of the bathroom now.
#ask#pariskim#charlie kelly#joyce kelly#ramblings#i hav lots of thoughts nd feelings nd smday ill draw out charlie's whole timeline th way iv ben meaning to#th same way charlie holds th gang togethr charlie holds my whole viewpoint of iasip togethr#i gave myself a headache writing this post i spent more time xplaining my years of tboy charlie thinking than joyce im sry lmao#but i do lov her

would you happen to know about any ttrpg that could run/emulate the tone of STALKER/Annihilation?
Frail humain beings entering a Fucked Up Zone with the intent if reaching the center and things getting weirder and more dangerous the farther they go in?
THEME: Eerie Fucked Up Settings
Friend I have some truly excellent games for you this week.
TRESPASSER, by Binary Star Games.
The Zone is an area that's been sealed off by a nation or group of nations due to its danger. It's filled with Anomalies, extremely dangerous areas where physical laws like gravity, magnetism, electricity, or chemistry can break down to lethal effect, as well as mutants and things considered impossible.
Like many, you have entered the Zone, but not legally. You are collectively known as Trespassers. Some inside are on their own, some in groups, some part of larger factions. But most want one thing: to reach the centre and claim what it conceals.
This game can accommodate a GM but it isnât necessary - in fact, you can even play it solo! As this game is inspired by STALKER, I think itâs going to really give you the vibe youâre going for. Troubles in Breathless games escalate as you play, so the longer you stay in The Zone, the worse things are going to get. I definitely recommend checking out this game!
BLOOM, by Litza Bronwyn.
BLOOM is a solo gmless journaling game in which you play a teenage girl trapped in quarantine at a boarding school on an island infected by the Tox, a plague that makes the trees and animals grow huge and hungry, and mutates your body in strange and horrific ways. In it, you will draw cards and write journal entries based on specific prompts in order to craft a story of survival and love.
Iâve read the book Wilder Girls by Rory Power, and it has a lot of the same themes as Annihilation and STALKER, so it might fit the niche youâre looking for. As a solo game, this uses the Wretched & Alone SRD, so youâll probably want a Jenga tower, and youâll definitely want a deck of cards.
Navigator, by Micheal Klamerus.
Navigator is a two-player tabletop rpg created for the Just the Two of Us Jam. It's inspired by the movie Stalker and the games Alone Among the Stars, Memoirs of a Barbarian and Thirst.
In this game two players journey into a mysterious, restricted site known as the Zone to find a room rumoured to grant people their innermost desires. One player is The Client, a person who wants to find this room and have their wish granted, and the other player is The Navigator, a person with previous experience navigating the Zone that has been hired by The Client to help them find the Room.
This game is definitely inspired by media such as STALKER, but it doesnât have to be inspired by that. When I played this game, we decided to go for something a bit more fantastical, but if you and the person you play this with agree on the same inspiration, you should have no trouble experiencing this as an eerie, unnerving, dangerous setting.
Exclusion Zone Botanist, by Exeunt Press.
YOU ARE AN EXCLUSION ZONE BOTANIST. GET IN. DISCOVER AND DOCUMENT. GET OUT.
Another one for the solo enthusiasts, and itâs inspired by Jeff Vandermeerâs Annihilation. Your character is specifically looking for plants, which you will locate by rolling 2d6. You get a little hex map to track your progress as you play. As you go, you risk being influenced by the corruption of the zone. Your goal is to document as many plants as possible before you become the forest - because if you are corrupted too much, they canât pull you out. A delightfully time-sensitive game.
The Zone, by Laughing Kaiju.
The digital tabletop storygame of magical realism, mutant weirdness, and collaborative self-destruction.
This is a really cool digital ttrpg, with a physical version on the way. You can play solo or multiplayer, and the website will guide you through play step by step. The game is meant to be collaborative, so everyone will have moments where they direct play. The author also encourages you to play to lose - this is a tragic game, a horror game. The game itself uses a number of cards representing locations, laid out in a spiral to form an abstract sort of map. Each location will have its own scene, probably more. And rather than rolling dice to resolve tasks, you choose whether something is easily doable, or not-so-easy - in which case you pull from a deck. This is where the mutations may come from.
If you are interested in the physical version of this game, theyâre currently taking pre-orders on Backerkit!

When would you say we hit peak woke?
I think 2020, which I will admit I think very strongly. The woke revolution to tease, or the social justice movement to be academic, was probably the most "online" movement in American history. Which I do not mean pejoratively, simply descriptive here, the history of the 2010's is very much the history of the ascendant internet. And 2020 was the year we just forced all of humanity to be online 24/7 with no recourse; we threw Americans to the fucking lions man. All these little gazelle up against seasoned internet warriors with a decade+ of practice honing their craft. And of course in a time that objectively felt apocalyptic to so many people. I think the George Floyd protests are absolutely the peak for the movement, the energy it brought in was unreal.
It, of course, as these things go, was also the end for it. All that energy was applied with all the undisciplined ferocity that its most extreme adherents were able to command, towards obviously unachievable goals - something they could not see being high on their own supply. They tried to grasp a star, overreached, and fell. And once the quarantine ended everyone (well, everyone liberal) was ready to move on. The Return to Normalcy was a go.
Which Imo does mask the actual achievements of the movement? I do personally think it was on net a misguided use of energy focused on symbolic targets, but it did hit some of those targets (when is the last time you even questioned a mainstream Hollywood movie or TV show having a diverse cast, for example?). But its big achievements it had locked in earlier in its run. Its a classic tale, you set out to achieve something, you pretty much achieve it actually, the only way you were ever going to at least, but what - are you going to disband? No, of course not, you double down, you go harder. So went the First Republic, so went the Woke Revolution.
The alt-right of course had its own similar journey at pretty much the same time, which culminated in 1/6. For, hm, reasons, it does not have the same ending.

I am actually so sick of rp smps where the story is mainly told through hours long streams. What happened to YouTube series? what happened to easily bingeable series? What happened to new episodes every week?
I swear they used to be so popular in the 2010s and then DSMP happened and everyone decided thats the way to do it now?? as if the reason DSMP worked wasn't strictly because it started in quarantine where everyone was stuck inside without much to do.
reject streaming. return to edited videos.
It's made worse by the fact theres so many povs and not many (if any) people who edit their streams down into videos for people who want to follow the story in an easier manner.
Streaming rp smps works so much better as like a garnish to a YouTube series where the main storyline is told (like what the empires smps did sorta?)
(I actually don't know if DSMP necessarily started the trend of streamed roleplayed Minecraft series but it was the first one I personally heard of with that format)
bring back mianite. bring back yandere high. bring back cute craft. bring back Minecraft oasis. bring back crazy craft even.
