I love talking about reverse 1999 and how the characters act and why cause Bluepoch put so much effort into setting up the world and making it believable that these characters ARE people. They have all the nuances and inner conflicts a person has and to guess their actions you have to start by asking yourself what the average person would do or feel in their situation. I really enjoy that part of it and it also makes a much more compelling story because when they put so much effort into making everything matter the fandom and players make connections because of it. Something that might’ve been in there as an insignificant plot point for the characters becomes an important piece for the fanbase.

i know i've rambled about this before, but i really love the idea of levi as not necessarily being someone that's stingy over the type of tea leaves he uses, but that he has mastered the art of making wonderful tea with even the shittiest leaves.

like growing up and living in the underground for a good amount of his adulthood, i doubt he would have had much exposure to "quality" tea leaves. but still, he enjoyed tea, so he made the best with what he had, and over the course of many years and many brews, he's figured out how to make good tea even out of the worst tea leaves.

maybe that's why whenever someone else brews his tea and he thinks it's shit, he's astonished not because he's being a snob over the type of leaf, but because if he could make even a shitty leaf taste good, how the hell did someone make a good leaf taste like shit?

just imagine the reluctant nod of approval when he came above ground and found higher quality leaves and then again when they visited marley and he found himself exposed to a higher variety of leaves.

I no longer understand coffee purists who refuse to have instant coffee. Like "I only drink the finest beans I grind and brew myself" cool I made my coffee in 30 seconds and it tastes yummy :)

Going absolutely insane having just found out that there's a song with vocals on the officlal homestuck beyond canon album from John's pov. With lyrics lamenting about how he lost touch with his friends and thinking about how he keeps getting pulled back and looped into "adventures" he doesn't fully understand or feel like he deserves. And a really weak shaky voice at the end combined with track art of dying Meat John with Lord English's tooth in him. Implying this is possibly some of his dying thoughts in that timeline.

i drink coffee because it tastes good to me.

i cant remember a time in my adult life where i didnt like coffee, but i started drinking it more regularly while i had a job at dunkin donuts, because we got free drinks on our breaks so i got to try all sorts of flavor pumps i'd never had before. the caffine doesnt really effect me, or at least doesnt seem to effect me the way it effects other people? so i can drink it without so many side effects, i can drink it just for taste

i dont drink it so much these days, but just because i find the process of making a cup to be a hassle. but its nice, when i feel like it!

when im having a dessert, a straight coffee pairs nicely because it's like the bitterness sweeps away the sweetness with each bite+sip. like a yummy palate cleanser. when i make the coffee into a cold sweet drink, then the bitterness of the coffee adds a flavor dimension to the sweetness that makes it nice, it's different from just drinking like a milkshake or whatever. and when i have a cafe au lait, it makes for a nice rich drink but it's still mellowed out by the milk.

these days i only have it once in a while as a treat, but it's a treat to me. soooo. that's why i drink it lmao

People who drink coffee: why did you start?

I don't drink coffee and I've never wanted to, but that's obviously ~not normal~, so I'm curious why most people do start drinking it.

I’m so sorry if you’re a tea person, but I fucking can’t stand tea people. Everybody’s like oh try chrysanthemum tea! It helps with anxiety and helps you focus and it tastes sweet and buttery without anything in it! It doesn’t make you sleepy like chamomile and it tastes better too! No it fucking doesn’t. It tastes like I put dried flowers in hot water. It tastes like the couch at grandma’s house. It tastes like I went outside and ripped up a bunch of daisies with my bare hands and shoved them directly into my mouth. Sugar, honey, and lemon do nothing to make it taste less like a bottle of febreze. Ice makes it tolerable, but it’s still just cold, oversweet old lady perfume. Does it make me less anxious? Sure, I guess. Might be power of suggestion, might be ancient Chinese magic, I don’t fucking know. But don’t lie and say it tastes buttery and sweet and delicious without added sweeteners when it tastes exactly like every other fucking flower tea but worse cuz it’s just mild enough that I can still taste the tap water underneath it
