“Eli.....was....a good man. One of the best men I’ve ever known.”

Daisy snorted from her spot next to him, “He’s reeeaaally laying it on thick there, isn’t he?”

Robbie didn’t glance in her direction. He didn’t even acknowledge that he heard her.

Of course he heard her. And she knew it.

“I can’t believe you’re making me sit here through this creep’s funeral.”

He continued to try to ignore her, swallowing down whatever was filling his throat. (For a second he thought it was bile. He couldn’t be too sure.)

“God, it’s almost like they knew huh? Kinda like they’re overcompensating.”

He dug his nails into his skin. He really didn’t want to be here, and he didn’t want her to be here. But he couldn’t just not go to his Uncle’s funeral.

He really wished he hadn’t gotten into his fucking car.

“Can you please keep your comments to yourself until we get back home?” He hissed a whisper in her direction.

A couple beats passed. For a moment he thought she didn’t hear him.

Of course she heard him, “Robbie, are you kidding? He fucking murdered me. And you want me to sit here through the living jerking off the memory of him?”

He wondered for a split second if he was being an unreasonable asshole. He thought that he probably was, but then again, there’s no handbook for dealing with the ghost of the final girl your -previously idolized- uncle murdered.

Yeah, no, he was being an asshole.

But then again, things have been an overwhelming whirlwind of bullshit, and he needed a break.

“Please.”

She looked at him pointedly. He forgot not to look back.

His mother would always tell him that the eyes of the dead carried the most sorrow you’d ever feel in your life.

He had to agree.

“I’m still laughing at the bullshit,” she gave him a determined look- but sounded like a grumpy child, and in any other situation he would’ve smiled.

The funeral dragged on- the hours turned into what felt like centuries. Everything they said went in one ear and out the other, the only thing resonating with him was the sound of Daisy’s laughter echoing throughout the church.

He expected for Daisy to go off the second they got into the car, but was met with silence.

The silence carried on far into the night, even after Gabe got settled in to sleep.

The silence was deafening, him having gotten used to her constant chatter and questions over the past couple of weeks.

She needed her space, though, and he respected that.

It was the least he could give her.

It was the least he would give her for the rest of his life.

He hand washed the dishes that night.

The dishwasher would’ve been too loud, he tells himself.

(In reality, he needed some space, too.)

He was really going to regret this. “Do you want to talk about it?”

She was in her normal spot, lying down on his bed facing the wall. It was freezing, but he didn’t know if that was the air conditioner’s fault or hers.

She made a snorting noise. If he didn’t know any better he would’ve thought she was crying.

“Do you?”

He tried not to let the slight underlying accusation in her voice upset him.

“No, but I will if it makes you feel better.” He sat on the other side of the bed. His body felt too heavy- as if he wasn’t sinking into the mattress but the ground itself.

He sat in the silence as he tried to pull what remained of himself together.

It felt like hours had passed -it couldn’t have been more than two- when Daisy finally responded.

“Do you think they ever found my body?”

She sounded so quiet, even with their tie magnifying her voice in his head.

It was as if he could barely hear her.

“I- I don’t know.”

He heard a sniff from her side of the bed, “Do you......do you think I had a funeral? Do you think people would’ve shown up?”

Robbie didn’t even get a chance to consider the weight of what she was saying before she spoke again.

“Do you think anyone cared?”

He felt too heavy again, like he was taking up too much space. “Yeah, people cared.”

She turned back towards the bed to face the ceiling. Wiping away tears he couldn’t be sure were there, she asked, “How would you know?”

“Because who wouldn’t care about you?” He realized how much he meant it. He realized how this extremely loud girl had grown on him over the course of two weeks.

He cared about her. Of course he did.

Who wouldn’t?

“Why do you think I’m here, Robbie?” She hadn’t looked away. Hadn’t blinked.

He’d considered the possibilities before while she was asleep (do ghosts sleep?) and he was lying awake at night. Atoning for the sins of his relatives? Most likely. A curse? More interesting- less likely.

“I don’t…..I don’t know. You won’t tell me.”

She finally turned to look at him.

Don’t look in her eyes.

“I haven’t told you because I don’t know.”

What?

“What?”

“I don’t know why I’m here. I don’t know how to leave. I don’t know...anything. I don’t even know who I am.”

So many questions were running through his brain.

“You said your name was Daisy,” it wasn’t a question as much as a slightly accusatory statement.

Because a ghost who lies is exactly what he needs right now.

“I know some things,” she said, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

He guessed that to ghosts it was.

“I know my name is Daisy. I don’t know what my last name is. I know I’m half Chinese- I don’t know who my parents are. I don’t know what their names are. I don’t know where I live. I don’t know-”

“You don’t know specifics.”

“I- I don’t know how the specifics work. I know my dad hates pineapple pizza, I know that we never missed a baseball game and every time I ordered the same thing- but I don’t remember anything that actually matters.”

He turned to face the ceiling with her. He couldn’t imagine forgetting about Gabe.

He couldn’t imagine forgetting his mother.

He was talking before he could think anything through- something, he noticed, happened way more when Daisy was around.

“We’re going to find them.”

“What?” She turned back to look at him, and he made an effort to not look back at her. She was staring at him like he grew a second head.

And she’s the ghost.

“We,” he sucked in a deep breath, “are going to find your family. We’re going to get you home.”

Hi! I'm kind of new to the fandom and I'm looking for good Feysand fics. Do u have any reccomendations for fics/authors? 🍓

Welcome to the fandom! I've read so many amazing fics by so many amazing people over the years, so this list will by no means be comprehensive, but I'll do my best and it'll definitely get long anyway! I hope I didn't bother anyone by tagging them because I'm not mutuals with everyone on this list.

@illyriantremors on both Ao3 and Tumblr has some of the best fics I've ever read. Unfortunately, they left Tumblr and the fandom several years ago, but they have some serious gems. Some of my favorites include a nearly-complete rewrite of ACOMAF from Rhys's POV, and my personal favorite feysand fic of all time, Beneath the Stars, (And its sequel, Between the Stars!) which is a fantastic modern AU.

@quakeriders on both ao3 and Tumblr has so many good one-shots and some multichapters that live in my head rent-free! One of my faves is her demon!rhys AU; and if i get burned, at least we were electrified.

@writtenonreceipts on both ao3 and tumblr has a lot of great fics with really interesting premises. If you're into throne of glass they also write quite a bit for that fandom!

@themoonthestarsthesuriel on both tumblr and ao3 has so much amazing writing! Their fic The Bet was such a wonderful ride.

@mmvalentine on both ao3 and tumblr writes fantastic feysand AUs. I'm still working my way through a lot of their writing, but their tattoo artist au The Bargain is terrific.

@the-lonelybarricade/TheLonelyBarricade on Ao3 has so much amazing writing for a variety of ships! I recently devoured her A Court of Faded Dreams, which is a really unique concept involving Feyre being sent back in time to the beginning of ACOTAR.

@bookofmirth/ABookandACoffee on Ao3 is one of my favorite sources for levelheaded and sensible opinions in this mess of a fandom, and she is also a talented writer! Her fic Turning A Page is so well written, and she has quite a few oneshots for a variety of ships including Feysand.

@arrowmusings on both ao3 and tumblr has a lot of great content that will absolutely destroy you in the best way possible I promise.

@live-the-fangirl-life has so many wonderful feysand fics, as well as a lot of throne of glass writing if you're in that fandom.

@thesurielships has a ton of feysand fics that I adore! If you're a swiftie she has an evermore songfic collection.

Another writer who left the fandom and is also now inactive (to the best of my knowledge) is @sarahviehmann / sv_you_know_who_I_am on Ao3. Before ACOWAR came out they wrote their own version called A Court of War and Starlight that I personally haven't read, but it was immensely popular around the time. Their modern AU My Fair Warrior is really well done as well.

Since you're familiar with my blog, I'm guessing you've already checked out my writing if any of it interested you, but I'm WordsAndWishes on Ao3.

I also went down by bookmarks list on Ao3 and picked out a few of my favorite fics.

Dear Darling - penpal AU!

Going for Gold - Olympic AU - this one does focus more on Nessian but there is plenty of feysand goodness, also a lot of great sisterly relationships.

It's Nice to Have a Friend - Incomplete but a gem! A Modern AU

The Castle of Dreams - Feyre ends up as a tutor for Rhys's sister who just so happens to be a princess.

Don't Look Back - a hs AU that is so much fun and an absolute ride!

What Happens Under the Stars - feysand finds healing together in a modern au. Feyre and Rhys and their journey are written in a very unique way that I love.

If You Hold Me Close - fake dating at an elucien wedding!

Nox Industries - Rhys is a CEO and Feyre applies for a job at his company.

For AoS, it's time can break your heart, have you begging please which, to be entirely 100% honest with you, I completely forgot I wrote in the first place 🤣🙈 It's post-7x10 angst on... that 7x10 and very spoilery death, with some Dousy hurt/comfort. Apparently, Dousy hurt/comfort is the rage, so... that's cool, I suppose.

Most Popular Multichapter Fic: just a few weeks ago, I would have responded with something like, "multichap? Me? As if 😳😅" But now... well, I'm actually posting my first multi-chapter fic later today, so we'll see how that goes!!

Favourite Story You've Written So Far: oh, gosh, that's a really, really hard one!! I've really, really enjoyed almost everything I've written, so picking is going to be very tough cookies xD

For AoS, I think I'm going to go for take my hand, take my whole life too, which is one of the first few things I wrote, but still holds a very special place in my heart, because I felt that it was a fic I could really be proud of, you know? Plus, it made me feel ridiculously soft and shippy-happy throughout the writing process. Plus plus, it has an absolutely stunning banner created by the amazing @ughfitz, which still touches me a lot, because I'd never had such a beautiful banner made before and askjgddfshhdhh it's just perfect.

I'm also very partial to july second, the birthday fic I wrote for @doctorofaos - because Hunter's point of view, it turns out, is ridiculously fun to write, and I had an absolute ball. The whole arc - a surprise birthday party for Daisy, and some team bonding/family fluff - just really works for me, too.

Another one that has to go on this list is hold out your hand, 'cause friends will be friends, my DaisyMack Soulmates BroTP, because that one is my amazing wife @aleksandrachaev's favourite, and it melts my heart so much to hear how much she likes it. 💜

Then lastly, for Spideychelle, my favourite thing I've written is quintessential spideychelle, no contest - it's a Roommates AU and my birthday gift for @eowima, and all the bonding those two dorks do over Lucifer and fandom in general brings me endless delight.

My Aladdin AU, now when did you last let your heart decide, will also always hold a special place in my heart, because it's the first really long thing I wrote. I put a ton of effort into it, and, well, I still think it's kinda fab.

(also I'm so sorry for the relentless self-plug that turned into, oh my God, apparently I'm just that indecisive and love talking that much. I apologise once again)

Fic You Were Nervous To Post: Aubrey, high-five! Because one of the things I was definitely the most freaked out for was that is good, my first-ever Quakerider fic and birthday gift for @acerobbiereyes. The response to that turned out to be overwhelmingly positive, though, and I have even made promises to venture into Quakerider-land again 🥰

I was also a little stressed for we love you, we love you, and we hope you love we too, which was my first-ever polyship fic - Fitzskimmons and cute notes for the fluff bingo - and something I also dedicated to the amazing @bobbimorseisbisexual. Also the formatting for this thing was HELL, and computers and I do not get along, so I was in cold sweats that it wouldn't work and fail on me completely... but, no, it worked, and the wonderful response to it too, very much melted my heart 🥺💖

How You Choose Your Titles: song lyrics. Almost always song lyrics. And if it's not song lyrics, it's a quote of some kind - it just works for me, and I actually find it fun to go hunt for something that works. Maybe I'm weird, but I actually do love it xD

Do You Outline? absolutely, yes - in fact, a great many of the things in my WIPs folder are solely outlines, or even just the beginnings of outlines. I find that outlines are a really good way to save your ideas if you don't have time to write them out properly, so you can come back months later and be all, "what the hell I'm actually so clever." (or, y'know, occasionally, "what the hell can the earth come swallow me up." But let's go with the cleverness 🤣👌)

In Progress:

... I think it's better that we don't talk about my WIPs folder, which, as most people who know anything about me can tell you, is an utter mess, and more than a little insane. (If you don't believe me, check it out here - I bet you do now, right?)

Out of that monstrosity, I'm currently working on numbers 20, 64, 192 and 174, which would be my Skimmons Hallmark Rom-Com, and fics for my three Secret Santas - Spideychelle, Fitzsimmons, and then one for the AoS Secret Santa whose pairing is, in delightfully SHIELD style, classified until the 24th of December.

Then in the very background, I'm also writing some Pipsy, Fitzsimmons and plat!Diper for the fluff bingo yes which I have still not finished I'm awful I know, and I'm going to make my lateness a liiiitle better by passing them of as gifts for my friends. I do love my friends very much, though, so that's more than fair I think 🥺💜

13.  favorite writing song/artist/album of this year

The Final Fantasy X Piano Collection was nearly always on a loop while I’ve been writing this year. I absolutely love it. The songs are beautiful. Specifically the song titled ‘Besaid’. It’s such a bouncy, but soulful tune.

19.  any new fics to start next year

Oh yes! Many, many stories live in my squishy brain meat right now. I feel kind of bad because I feel like 2019 was my 90% Izuocha/bnha year and only recently I’ve been diversifying out into other fandoms and ships so I just know that 2020 will only get more diverse.

It was nice having nearly a whole year mostly devoted to writing for one fandom and one ship, but 2020 is my year for something different!~

There are soooo manyyyy ! I literally am unable to pick just one.

Honestly, there are so many I treasure! Um um um. There are the ones that make me feel like I’m about to cry because I get so emotional and my brain can’t handle it - send in the tears!

Comments fuel me and also turn me into an emotional mess. There are so many of you out there that have made me nearly cry ahaha. This one had me bawling one morning:

But I also love those comments after I’ve written the rare angsty thing where people are just yelling at me and I love that more than I can articulate. I have absolutely wheezed at my phone before. I sent a message to my friends like ‘Look, I made people feel emotional and yell at me for breaking their hearts! I’m feeling so fulfilled!’ and they were like Nat. No.

Also I love it when people quote back their favourite parts to me, that really gives me an idea at what worked!

I know I’m a very lucky girl to have so many comments - I really do appreciate every single one. I wish I could list them all here !

25.  a fic you read this year you would recommend everyone read

My tastes on fics I read are very much based in the realms of whatever ship I am hyper-fixating on,,, and there’s been a few this year. Ironically, since my blog has been about 90% bnha, 5% writing stuff, 5% everything else this year I have got quite a few bnha followers who would have absolutely no interest in the fic that I’m about to rec, but I’mma answer the question anyway !

The one that has made me cry, laugh and just pterodactyl screech at my phone at 2am the most - which is my criteria for fic recs of the highest tier - is easily a Reddie, post IT Chapter Two fic, called ‘and i will not remember that i ever felt the pain’ by @fluffifullness

Okay. So. Like. This fic. It is angsty in all the Best Ways. The slowest of burns. So many Almosts and Nearlys on them connecting with their feelings that both killed me and had me living. Also there’s a ghost. It’s Eddie. Eddie’s a ghost. And I am just all about the romantic tragedy of character A is alive, character B is a ghost but they still love each other. You ever seen the movie Ghost ? ‘Cause this is Better.

Honestly, even if you’ve only seen the movie once, I would rec the hell out of this and throw it at you to read. (Even if you’ve never seen the movie I would still rec this, but you’ll lose so much extra context!) But yeah, great fic - that’s my rec of 2019~

GUESS WHO'S WRITING MUSE IS FORKING BACK!!!

That's right people, it's forking mine!!!!!!! After thinking up the ideas for an agents of shield AU where Robbie is there from the start (a quakerider story idea for anyone interested), my muse just kinda kick started back into place.

I was actually able to finish chapter 6 of "Never a Dull Moment" the Captain cobra (once upon a time fandom) father/son bonding story that I started over 1 and a half years ago... maybe 2 years now. There is one more chapter left to go before I can finally label it complete and though I'm about to post it on fanfiction. net tonight, I will post it on here tomorrow for anyone who followed me for it in the first place.

Also, I haven't forgotten the agents of shield AU, I'm still working on it, but if my muse continues the way it has been. I might end up writing little oneshots for the AU here and there. No promises though.

Syntax by @sunalsolove (ship: fitzsimmons) It's lust at first sight for Jemma and Fitz, and by the end, it turns into love. An exciting story, with a plot that just zings along, taking the reader on a wild ride! Must read!

more than words by @whistlingwindtree (ship: quakerider) Love and how we show it varies greatly. Learning how to share yourself and how both you and another person express love is never easy. In this beautiful fic the author shows the intricate way two people, in this case Robbie and Daisy, can show they care about each other. From physical love, to words, to making someone comfort food. It’s all explored here and the sweetness will leave you smiling.

Navigating the ropes of surprises by @florchis (ship: fitzskimmons) If you're looking for a twist on a meet cute, look no further! A wonderful Fitzskimmons fic where things don't go quite to (Fitz's) plans. This is an enjoyable, fresh look at the start of a relationship.

I can't be anyone else by @loved-the-stars-too-fondly (ship: maydaisy) This story leads us onto a great twist on what the LMD arc could have been, featuring smart decisions, self-aware characters and (spoiler alert!) love confessions! What else can you ask for?

compromise by @theclaravoyant (ship: skitz)  This fic may be NSFW, but Fitz and Daisy show that it is definitely SFTK (Safe For The Kitchen). This steaming hot narrative proofs that if one person wants one thing and another something else, both can be satisfied in the end if they’re just willing to compromise and trust each other.

I've spent the last few days binging everything you've ever written and I LOVED them all. But now I'm out of content and I need MORE. Do you have recommendations for other Feysand fics/fic writers?

Oh my GOD do I anon. How big of a list do you want? For a start when I read lovely Feysand things on here I do tend to reblog them with the #fic recs and you should be able to find any of those in my archive. But I'll save you the trouble because I have SO MANY wonderful fic writer friends that I am so excited to get the chance to fangirl over.

This is a general Feysand rec list. I also have one specific for smut here, one specific for Feysand + Nyx, and one specific for fluff.

I'm sorry but this is going to be long. I've read so many fics and I have so much to say. I'll put a read more under the first couple authors <3

Feysand authors:

First and foremost anything and I mean anything by @arrowmusings is an absolute work of art. She has a lot of works about both Rhys and Feyre overcoming/supporting each other with their trauma that will just break your little heart. But she also has fluffy fics that will sew it back together because she is a woman. who. can. do. it. all. Seriously go read everything she wrote, her talent is incredible.

@thehaemanthus also an incredible writer. I'm obsessed with her Our Savaged Souls fic. I honestly still don't think I've recovered from reading it yet. She also has plenty of fluff and a few sexy fics ;) I love the detail in her writing, she never misses, please go read.

@colteyes has started a series that I am so in love with called The Light After Dark. I find her writing style very unique and gorgeous and every single one of her Feysand oneshots is perfection.

My dear friend @thenightgodess-feyrearcheron has some oneshots that will break your heart into little tiny pieces. Proceed with caution, I definitel think the pain is worth it <3

My beloved @thebonecarver has oneshots and multichapters galore for Feysand. They're also celebrating their 200 followers so go read some lovely stories and congratulate them!!

I binged all of @themoonthestarsthesuriel's fics when I was on my post-acotar hangover before I ever really found this fandom online. The Bet is a glorious, glorious multichapter fic. Honestly I am so soft for it and have been itching for a reread now that I've actually gotten to know her a little bit through her blog (such a big fangirl moment for me tbh).

@live-the-fangirl-life has some feysand fics among her countless other works of art! Definitely recommend her if you're a Feysand, Rowalin, or Nessian fan because she really does it all!

@feybaenc started a retelling where Feyre runs away from home pre-acotar and is guided by Rhys's mother as a ghost. Definitely recommend, I can't wait to see where she's going with it!

@darling-archeron has so much beautiful Feysand content. I haven't had a chance to read all her fics yet, but everything I've read of hers so far has been absolutely glorious.

If you're over 18, @rhysandswingspan has some very sexy Feysand fics as well. Seriously. Treat yourself with this one.

And continuing on 18+ recs, @feyrearcherons has some very delightful fics that I highly recommend if you like darker Rhys (and let's face it, we all like dark!Rhys). Her fic, The Mist, literally owns me.

We're not mutuals but @mmvalentine also has some deliciously smutty fics that will make you horny while also making you feel things. She is the Queen of Feysand Modern AU, I absolutely adore the way she writes Rhys. I've been meaning to read her latest fic Pomegranite for ages and just haven't had a chance yet, but I'm certain it's glorious because her writing has never let me down.

Also not a mutual but @quakeriders has a lot of Feysand fics that are just phenomenal. She's a Feysand Queen and I'm sure you've come across her fics on AO3 before but it would be blashphemous not to mention her on a Feysand rec list.

I'm not sure how active the account is but @nomattertheoceans is another non-mutual fic writer I really enjoy! She has some really wonderful fics that I binged in my post-acotar hangover. Her fic I Made You a Promise is my everything.

@hellogoodbye14 , @schizodorian, @emikadreams are all just wonderful Feysand authors that have churned out so much content, you will be in bliss for days on end.

I don't think they're active anymore, but everything, and I do literally mean everything, by @illyriantremors is pure untarnished gold.

@writtenonreceipts has so many wonderful one-shots, drabbles, and multichapter fics for Feysand as well as some for other couples!

If you want fics that are similar to ACoFD I have some very specific reccomendations:

For starters my lovely friend @slutsofren has a reader insert fic of an acotar rewrite with an MC that has read the books. I absolutely adore it, definitely reccomend!

I don't know if they have a tumblr but HopeLions13 on AO3 has a wonderful retelling called The Portrait of a Male. It can be a bit tough to read at points (or it least it was for me) because the author really doesn't pull punches when it comes to Amarantha's cruelty, but it's definitely a compelling story!

There's also an anonymously published fic called Human with Feyre/Rhys having their roles swapped. Super cool concept and I really liked the two chapters they put out, don't know if there will be more!

A Court Outside of Time is a beautiful fic with an almost identical premise, except Feyre decides not to tell Rhys she is from the future and has to navigate that complex dyanmic UtM.

@isthisclever has a fic called Of Talons and Light where Feyre travels back post ACoSF to the moment in the woods with Andras, which I need to catch up on because I'm really excited to see where she goes with it!
