Short Notice
Due to the unfortunate nature of sharing an apartment with her brother, Primam felt compelled to make a request of a close friend.
Word count: 1,237
"Sorry that it was all…short notice. And…late…" Primam said, adjusting her backpack on her shoulder and looking up at Prompto with a sense of shame in her expression. She stepped into his apartment, kicking her shoes off at the entry way before stepping up into the main portion of his abode.
"Hey, it's no problem," Prompto reassured her, closing the door behind her and locking it. He turned and kept his attention on her. Concern settled on his features. "You and your brother didn't have a fight, did ya? I mean, my door's always open to you, no matter how late it is."
"Oh, no…nothing like that," Primam quickly replied, waving a hand to dismiss the very notion. She sighed deeply, her cheeks falling flush as she looked away from Prompto and to the floor. Her hand clutched more tightly into her backpack strap, embarrassment flooding her. "I-It's actually… I mean, I wish we had gotten into a fight. Just…sometimes he brings some people back home. People I don't know… And…well…let's say getting a good night's rest is…rather difficult."
Prompto's own cheeks and ears flushed as he started to catch Primam's meaning. Raising a hand, he rubbed at the back of his neck. "Ah… I see."
Clearing his throat, Prompto motioned further into his apartment and walked into the living room. Unlike Noctis' or even her brother's rooms, Prompto looked to have kept his apartment in pretty neat condition. This was much to Primam's surprise as she slowly followed after him, taking in the layout of the apartment and getting a feel for the place. She had a feeling that should Tandem develop these little trysts as a habit, she was going to be seeing more of Prompto's apartment in time.
"So, uh…" Prompto began, looking over his shelf of DVDs and movies, glancing over in Primam's direction as she wandered further into his pad. "Just, y'know, out of curiosity: why not stay with Noct? He lives in the same building as the two of you, doesn't he?"
Primam's expression grew sheepish as she furrowed her brow with an amused scoff. "I think you know just as well as I do that his living space is like a bio-hazard. Staying the night there is like to have me leave with a disease in the morning."
Prompto fell into light laughter at the comment before his attention went back to his DVD collection. Shaking his head, he scoffed, "Well, I guess I can't argue with you there. Has he always been like that?"
"Well…" Primam began, tentatively stepping over toward the sofa and slowly sitting down. Placing her bag on the floor, she then looked down at her hands after she set them in her lap. Her mouth thinned into a taut line upon her face as she considered how to really broach the subject in its entirety that she felt was okay to share from her side of things. "He…changed after an incident when we were eight. You might be aware that we attended school without Noct with us around that time… That's because he was recovering from an accident."
Sinking back into the couch and drawing her legs up onto the cushions, Primam frowned slightly. "After he recovered, he just…wasn't the same? Quiet… Less active than he used to be, but no less a bit of a troublemaker." Primam's expression softened, her eyes going to Prompto as he kept thumbing through his collection. "But…I don't think I should say too much more than that. Not really my place."
"I get'cha…" Prompto replied. While Primam had talked, he had already plucked a couple jewel cases from his shelf. He walked back over and showed them off to her with a sunny grin. "Since you're staying over, wanna watch something? I figured you'd probably like these out of what I got."
Looking over the DVDs, Primam read off each of the titles as her eyes glanced over each one; Stardust Echoes. Blood and Aether.
Primam sat up straighter, her expression turning to surprise as she reached out for the third movie and gently plucked it from Prompto's grasp. "No way! They made a movie of Of Winter's Grip!?"
"It's an episodic series, actually," Prompto replied. His expression brightened further as he went back to return the other DVDs to his shelf. As he put the other cases away, he went on; "It's new. I know you more keep up with books than shows or movies…but… When I saw the news they were making a series of your favorite book collection, I thought I may as well pick up the first volume. I watched the first couple episodes."
"And?" Primam gently, though excitedly pressed. "How were they?"
"Pretty good. I mean, they kept relatively faithful to the first few chapters so far from what I remember." Prompto came back around and lingered nearby where Primam sat. He took the jewel case back when it was handed it back to him. Nearing the television and turning it on, Prompto got the movie loaded into the player. "I think they chose a good actor for your favorite character, Vyressa."
As the DVD loaded, Primam and Prompto bantered a bit more about the show before the menu appeared on screen. Grabbing the remote from the TV stand, Prompto relinquished it to Primam's hold before he told her that he was going to get some popcorn made for the two of them as well as some drinks. As he walked off, he told her to 'start it without me' as he checked the cupboards of his kitchen for his container of popcorn kernels.
Once Prompto had come back with their show snack as well as some bottles of water, the night was…relaxing. A nice change of pace for Primam as the two of them watched the DVD through and the four episodes of Of Winter's Grip on it. Or…tried to, at any rate. With the episodes being nearly hour-long endeavors each, Primam's body had other plans as she nestled on one side of the couch and had curled up over time.
"So, that's it so far," Prompto started. He looked over at Primam. "What did you thin—"
Prompto paused, a soft scoff leaving his lips before he got up. Primam's eyes were closed, and her shoulders rose and fell with her slow, rhythmic breathing. She had fallen asleep.
Running a hand through his hair, Prompto paced over to his room and got the extra blanket he had set out as well as grabbed one of the chocobo plushes he had. Bringing them back over to Primam, he carefully draped the blanket over her to keep her warm…or…something. Prompto never really understood how Primam's mild hypoesthesia worked.
Taking the chocobo plush from under his arm, he then gently brought it to her face. Prompto watched as Primam scrunched her nose slightly, but his favorite part he knew would happen, happened. Primam reached up instinctively, taking hold of the plush then hugged it to herself, nuzzling her cheek and nose into it before she settled back into place.
"… Sleep tight, Prim. See you in the morning…" Prompto quietly said, going over to turn off the television and then dim the lights. With a lingering glance in her direction, Prompto soon headed to his room to let her sleep in peace.

What is SWPPP/QSD Consulting in the World of Civil Engineering?

When it comes to constructing large public buildings, planning ahead is important. Part of this includes SWPPP/QSD consulting, which EPOCH Projects offers. By learning more about how this type of consulting ties into making quality civil engineering plans, builders and construction crews can avoid huge problems with drainage.
Learning About Stormwater Issues
Due to the typical amount of dirt and other materials in an area as construction happens, those in charge need to pay special attention to how they handle pollution. Otherwise, water-filled local areas can become polluted.
A QSD, or Qualified SWPPP Developer, often writes a SWPPP, or Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan, to prevent future issues. Any area bigger than one acre needs this kind of plan, but even smaller areas could require it in some scenarios.
Understanding What QSD Professionals Do
These professionals make plans that aim to prevent pollution from escaping. They may utilize anything from silt fences to soil stabilizers to keep the local area from facing a problem. QSD professionals like https://epochprojects.com/ can also make changes as the construction continues, in case the old plans do not work anymore.
Realizing How It Ties Into Constructing Buildings
SWPPP and QSD consulting usually includes actions people take before, during and after construction officially starts. Professionals typically stay on-site to talk with and get feedback from engineers and other workers.
Taking SWPPP/QSD Consulting Into Consideration
The beauty of a new building does not have to come at the expense of a polluted stream or lake. With SWPPP/QSD consulting, workers can continue their jobs without fear.

What is SWPPP/QSD Consulting in the World of Civil Engineering?

Dealing with stormwater can be a hassle, particularly when things aren't draining properly. Stormwater can become contaminated when construction projects interfere with the drainage process. This interference can pose a threat to humans and animals, as the water is more polluted when this happens. Thankfully, SWPPP/QSD consulting can help solve your problem and get you back to working more regularly.
What is SWPPP/QSD Consulting?
At Chris Nelson & Associates, Inc, this consulting service creates a plan that will help reduce or eliminate stormwater pollution. These plans are required when the construction area is larger than an acre, but sometimes, they may be needed for projects that are less than an acre.
It's crucial to have these plans together by a qualified SWPPP developer, or a QSD, as they have the know-how to put together an effective strategy. Not only can they put the plan together, they can carry it out.
Why is This Important?
The drinking water can be affected by construction projects, and it can be difficult for the contaminants to be filtered out. For this reason, it is best to prevent the problem by developing a plan through SWPPP/QSD consulting. This plan will keep the project from interfering with the stormwater, ensuring the water is safe to drink and use.

Pusher post for Ja Myung Go (2009) - best period kdrama you've never heard of

It got zero votes on my poll probably because nobody has watched it, and it must be remedied.
In 2009, during the ratings reign of legendary Queen Seon Deok, another woman-centric period drama made its debut - Ja Myung Go starring Jung Ryo Won, Jung Kyung Ho, and Park Min Young back before she was a leading lady. Unlike QSD which became a huge success and extended its run, JMG had abysmal ratings throughout and ended up being only 39 episodes (a large number in abstract but a cut from the originally planned 50). Ja Myung Go took a traditional narrative - the forbidden and doomed love of Prince Hodong and Princess La Hee, heirs to enemy kingdoms, and disassembled it supposing what the story would have been like if Hodong had been in love with La Hee's sister Ja Myung instead.
Even though JMG is one of my favorites, its single-digit ratings (back when single digit ratings were baaaaad!) were no surprise - it took most period drama conventions of the time and even now and upended them. Proper royalty-based sageuks at the time after all centered around the progress and triumph of its protagonist - he or she may pay a great personal price but will triumph over rival factions/own shortcomings/bad background and emerge politically victorious - a great ruler to be remembered by future generations. JMG's rival Queen Seon Deok expemplifies that kind of narrative - Deokman is an outcast who, at the end, has lost the man she loved, but is a great ruler to be remembered forever and full of achievements. Yi San, Kingdom of the Winds, Jumong, etc - all follow this formula more or less. This is still the case when they make them nowadays, sadly rarer than they used to - GK War comes to mind. (Fusion-style sageuks which usually deal with 'common' people sometimes choose hopelessness as a theme - see Damo - but they have a different narrative thrust and vibe and we are not even getting into fluffiness of youth sageuks. People of JMG are miles away from that.)

But this is not the story of JMG. From the first episode it is clear that there will be no triumphant narrative. This is a story of the defeated - defeated Kingdom of Nakrang, defeated people. And, except for Ja Myung herself (cast in a traditionally heroic mold even if with enough flaws to make her interesting), her mother (a very minor character) and a few other other characters, most of the characters are not heroic either. They are either fascinating monsters (Muhyul, Wang Jashi (Ja Myung's stepmother), Muhyul's Queen) or people damaged beyond repair by their surroundings (Hodong, La Hee).

(Man is known as God of Battles, and not for no reason)
And even though I like Ja Myung, I confess that for me the drama is made by the clever, fascinating, monstrous Wang Jashi and Muhyul. Wang Jashi is a Korean Lady Macbeth - she is someone who is capable of poisoning her brother in order to protect her husband and her own power, but she is also someone who genuinely grieves over him. She is a wicked woman, but she is strong and irresistable. Muhyul (or King Daemushin, if we go by his throne name) is a counterpart for her (he rules a different kingdom, but I confess throughout the drama, I kept wondering what it would be like if they were married - they would rule the world). He is a capable, fierce ruler who has traded his humanity for success and rule - you see any remaining feelings leach out of him slowly during the course of the drama.

And so much of the drama is shaped by those two irresistible monsters - all the younger characters except Ja Myung are trapped and shaped and deformed by them. Princess La Hee, Wang Jashi's daughter, is not capable of truly functionally expressing her feelings - even though she likes Hodong, throughout their early meetings, she lashes at him over and over because brought up the way she was, she has no idea how express herself. And Hodong, Muhyul's son, is even worse off - at least La Hee had her saintly stepmother to love her growing up. Hodong has had his poisonous stepmother who desires his death (yet another amazing character - she is a horrible person but you understand and even sympathize with her) and Muhyul as a father (there is a scene later on where Muhyul gives an order that if Nakrang does not fall, Hodong is to be executed. Father of the year he is not).

In a way, that is why if it wasn't for his seduction-to-victory plan, Hodong would have never gotten together with La Hee even if Ja Myung did not exist - they are both emotional cripples and Hodong, at least, is smart enough to recognize that. I think that is a huge part of his attraction to Ja Myung - she is a breath of sane air (significantly she has been brought up outside palace environment). When I think of Hodong, it's the same emotion I get when I think of Jang Jae Min from Bali - he is twisted and deeply flawed but the wonder and the tragedy of it is that for his family he is not flawed and twisted enough. One of the last things Ja Myung tells him is that in their next life she wishes she would be his mother. I remember people thinking WTF but it made perfect sense to me - the thing Hodong lacked most and needed most was a loving parent - it is something he never got. (And of course it's also a show of love towards her sister - this way La Hee can have Hodong as a lover).

And this brings me to gender dynamics. Except for Muhyul, all the true movers and shakers in the story, every catalyst is a woman. Nowhere it is as evident as with Ja Myung and Hodong. I remember reading that Jung Kyung Ho was cast as Hodong and being genuinely puzzled. He has since gone on to be one of my favorite leading men and certainly terrifying and violent and feral enough in Cruel City to play the scariest warlord of them all if necessary but that wasn't the case at the time. I thought of him as the spoiled little brother to the angsty vengeance seeker of Sorry I Love You, or as a smart little brother to the amnesiac mob assassin in Time Between Dog and Wolf. Or, more likely, in his big break-out role as the male lead of Smile You. The thing is, in all of these, even Smile You, he is the quintessential nice guy (or as the term is in certain circles, "beta male.") He was about the last person I'd normally envision as a male lead in a period drama about war. But once I saw the drama, it all made sense and not because he was bringing his later Cruel City persona.
Because despite his undoubted ability to fight in battle, Ja Myung and Hodong are all about gender reversal - at one point she even becomes his bodyguard! If you think about it, they take gender roles usually reserved for the opposite gender - she is the proactive one, who sets the story in motion, the rebel leader. He is the one who conquered Nakrang through seduction of La Hee, something seen as a typically female method. His seducing La Hee into destroying the protective drum is a far cry from Jumong fighting through hordes single-handed or Dam Duk in The Legend taking on an army with a small unit armed with nothing but grit or even the Prince in Haechi or King in GK War outwitting his court enemies with balls and brains. And, as a typically female method, his way of victory gets him nothing but scorn - in the first episode, his stepmother calls him a whore to his face. It's the same with the relationship - Ja Myung can let go of him, but he cannot let go of her.
The women are uniformly fascinating and complex in this - even someone like La Hee does not just give in to Hodong's false sweet words - she genuinely believes surrender would save her country. The drama's respect for its female characters is summed up in a single scene - one of the characters is a widow of Wang Jashi's brother (the one she poisoned). Her 10-year-old brother-in-law marries her to save her from execution. 10 years later, they are still married and when she is doing the proper thing and helping him bathe, you see her experience and suppress her desire - because her husband is now a gorgeous gorgeous man. It could be a ludicrous situation - she changed the guy's diapers and she is not what you'd consider traditionally good-looking. But instead drama treats her feeling with respect and understanding. I loved it for that.
Oh, and I am just gonna leave this little father-son convo here:
Hodong: Your Majesty, what did you tell me before? You said if only you gain Nakrang without any blood being spilt, you would bestow leniency on them. Take pity on them. The other way there will be no end to rebellion and we will all die.
Daemushin: Your own grandfather, King Yuri, killed his own two sons. I was young and I could not understand that. How could he? How can a father kill his own child. Unless he was crazy, how could he kill his sons? I finally understand him today. For a King, a son with other intentions is nothing but a political enemy. A political enemy that must be killed and gotten rid of.
Hodong: Do you wish to kill me?
Daemushin: [throws down a puppet of a woman] You must know who this wench is. Who is she?
Hodong: It is Emperor Choi Ri's unknown daughter, Princess Ja Myung.
Daemushin: Find her and kill her.
Hodong: Father, I cannot do that! I...I...that woman...
Daemushin: When you chop off the head of that woman Jae Myung, I will make you the Crown Prince. If your father is King Daemushin, who has expanded his kingdom, then you must survive and show all other nations how to rule that kingdom.
Hodong: Your subject Hodong accepts Your Highness' command.
Parent of the Year indeed!
PS If you've watched enough sageuks, you will recognize that wily old monster Daemushin is actually the protag of The Kingdom of the Winds where he looked like this:

(I did a pusher post for TKotW before so won't repeat.) The funny thing is much as I adored the ML of TKotW, I can totally see him progress into that monster here. It would be logical.
Anyway, digression over, go watch JMG!

Dae Jang Geum update ep 26/54
ok first of all i love how well written the intense and ruthless politics of the inner palace is; it's thoughtful and clever AND fun- like I was holding my breath through the two -episode cooking competition arc!!!
I was really sorry to lose Lady Jung :( :( :(
I *will * confess to being a little peeved re: how guileless Lady Han and Jang geum are written. I mean, I love them both but. Like, I think you can be a "good" person without being naive, and both Lady Han and Jang geum tend to be the latter for no discernibly good *character * reason, I think? Idk, was it the norm at that time? To have these morally spotless women as the heroines? I mean QSD was six years later, and Deokman is good and worthy without being naive- though it's a journey she takes, of course, which is the point and makes it interesting. I don't see that inflection point for Jang geum yet, though maybe it will happen? For now, I'm resigned to her character being somewhat static through the story.
Keum-yeong, in contrast, feels like someone on a journey, even though that journey is going down increasingly dark paths. Our nepo baby is clearly having moral struggles though she makes the wrong decisions over and over; and even the occasional "right" one is based in wrong-ness. Once more, I do wish the actress was less of a bore.
Lady Choi- love to hate her, but her cunning is limited and she has no ability to strategize long term (unlike Keum-yeong, who's actually all the more dangerous).
Ok uri writer nim really loves her villains. OKAY.
Ji Jin hee, idek what you're doing here other than being handsome and dependable as a deux ex machina, but you know, what else are love interests for, anyway. ps. watch out for THE KING, he was a leetle too enthusiastic about uri Jang geummie during the competition, if you ask me. *side eyeing him *

WHY

I’m quoisexual
and I have hypersexuality
and yes, my quoisexuality is disordered, thank you, because hypersexuality is a disorder
-♠️
Here's the post they linked:
I literally saw this 2 minutes ago lol
Ok, so I have two points that I'd like to flesh out. I don't have much experience with Quoisexual so I may be wrong about some things.
Quoisexual isn't on a spectrum? I mean, I've never seen it considered a spectrum; it's part of the asexual spectrum, but it isn't a spectrum in itself; it just feels like they took autism and wanted to add sexuality to it.
Second, this just sounds like they're saying, "Being gay is a mental illness," but with a different sexuality. Your sexuality isn't a disorder; it may affect a disorder or be affected by a disorder, but you can't have a "disordered sexual orientation."

Meal Etiquette
A year has passed since Pluvira had come into Primam and Prompto's lives. Within that year, Primam had a rather lenient King of Insomnia, and rather caring brother who allowed her to spend time getting to be a new mother. Now, it seems that leniency has lifted and she has since been called back to her seat on the Royal Lucian Council, leaving Prompto staying at home and being the sole parent having to look after their firstborn.
Word Count: 782
Notes: I just wanted to write Prompto being a dad. Not really canon to what I have released of the rest of my XV: Reimagined. But fun...for me.
Spoon in hand, Prompto was making faces opening his mouth and closing it. He was trying to get the fussy baby in the highchair to get her spoonful of mashed mango and banana baby food in her mouth. Though, as it stood, this particular adversary was one of the most troublesome he had ever faced. At least when it came to getting her to eat her meals.
“C'mon, Vira…” Prompto said, sighing with a sheepish smile on his face. “Mommy had Uncle Iggy make this special for you! Daddy and Mommy have had Uncle Iggy's food, and it's so yummy! You'll love it! You just gotta…open…your mouuuuu-u-uth, ahhhh--”
Prompto gently bumped the spoon against Pluvira's pouty lips, her expression speaking volumes of her lack of amusement and defiance both. Her refusal to eat made Prompto bite back a groan as he attempted to think back on how Primam always made it look so easy.
‘Sometimes, you just need to sweeten the deal,’ Prompto recalled Primam saying. But what did she do most of the time?
Scrunching his face in thought, Prompto recalled that, most of the time, Primam saved feeding Pluvira for when they were ready for meals. But…Pluvira was at an age where she was using her limited vocabulary and was demanding ‘nummies’.
“Noct, I'm going to kill you…” Prompto muttered under his breath. It was only recently that Primam was called away back to her role on the Lucian Royal Council now that Tandem had no longer wanted to be her stand-in and handle her responsibilities. Which meant that Prompto was now on his own with Pluvira…and she was only ever fussy when Primam was gone.
Taking in a breath, Prompto slowly exhaled and dumped the spoonful of baby food back into the jar before getting up. He then had an idea and walked over to the fridge, looking around until he found the clementines. Pulling them out, he made sure to peel a couple of them before bringing them back in a small bowl.
This had to work.
“Alrighty, Vira… Daddy's got your favorite. Look! Clementines!” Prompto plucked a clementine slice from the bowl and then popped it into his mouth. He gave a small ‘mm~’ as he ate it.
Pluvira watched Prompto intently, soon reaching out for the bowl with little grunts. She was determined to get her delicious little treats.
‘Hook, line, and sinker…’ Prompto thought with a grin on his face.
Sitting back down, Prompto broke one clementine slice in half and then took up the baby food jar once more. He got a smaller spoonful than before and then placed the small clementine slice at the end of the spoon. Pluvira was watching, kicking in her seat eagerly.
“Ah!” Pluvira opened her mouth nice and wide, and Prompto finally breathed a sigh of relief as he brought the spoon to her mouth and made sure she was not going to close it before he plucked the slice back and saw her close her mouth around the spoon.
“See? Not so bad,” Prompto said, keeping the clementine piece in his other hand. He knew that it was too small to feed her safely, and needed him to watch her pull at and eat it instead of getting all of it in there.
Pluvira's expression was one of shock as she looked up at Prompto as if she had just learned something new. To be fair, she really did. She then opened her mouth again, another eager ‘ah!’ being pushed out to indicate she was ready for another spoonful.
Victory! That was now just one less thing Primam had to worry about while she was away!
Taking the spoon, Prompto got it filled with Pluvira’s mash and brought it back. He watched her eat consistently from there on until she had her fill.
“Papa’s got it all figured out!” Prompto cheered to himself. Watching Pluvira bounce excitedly in her chair had been rewarding enough. Getting everything cleaned up, Prompto got Pluvira removed from the highchair, making sure not to jostle her too much after eating. “Time to get you in the bath, and then how about you and Daddy sit down and watch some movies after, huh? Wait for Mommy to come home?”
“Ma…ma…ma…” Pluvira babbled, sticking a hand on Prompto’s face.
“Yeah? Excited for Mommy to come back home?” Prompto asked, scrunching his face and then bringing his lips down on Pluvira’s hand a couple times, pretending to bite her. He started to walk toward the staircase afterward to bring Pluvira to the bath. “Daddy’s also excited for Mommy to come back home. We can show her what a good girl you’ve been to Daddy today.”
