I just read your excellent article on Pazuzu, and it left me with an uncanny feeling of deja vu, until I remembered Barbatos (my beloved).

Between their somewhat similar portfolios, their ability to travel to the material plane with little difficulty, and their hear name ability, do you think there's any relation between the Lord of Temptation and the Mistletoe Monk (my beloved), or could they even be the same entity?

Same entity? Definitely not. Similar relationship? Perhaps.

I one received a very convincing theory from a follower positing that Barbatos (my beloved) may be a reformed Qlippoth Lord who sees Hell's vision of eradicating free will as a means to an end to destroy demonic life altogether, a theory I now personally subscribe to. Pazuzu was among the first of all demons, and an entity like Barbatos (my beloved) would be older still; as far as I'm aware there's no concrete proof that Pazuzu himself wasn't also a qlippoth... and, in fact, as I was writing this I had to check a small fact I remembered: in Extinction Curse: Life's Long Shadow, Pazuzu is mentioned alongside Dagon and Jubilex as being one of the Qlippoth Lords who was transformed into a demon! Huh!!! But who knows if that's truly canon, or simply a biased take from apocrypha about Zevgavizeb (also a qli-turned-de).

Given that Mr. Jacobs had a hand in creating the Obyrith, the D&D 3.5 precursors to the PF's qlippoth, and that Pazuzu in D&D went from obyrith to demon lord, there may be some lingering design echoes here. Take that as you will.

All this to say that it's possible Pazuzu and Barbatos (my beloved) were cut from a similar cloth, if not the same cloth, in much the same way that some modern parasites share a common ancestor. We know that the Mistletoe Monk does frequently meet with Chaotic entities of various alignments, but whatever his direct relationship (if any) with the Lord of the Skies may be is never directly stated.

So I mentioned a while ago in Cara's Intro that she has some spooky legends, time to list them (bit of a long-ish post below, tons of headcanon lore)

Qli-Thoth, who drinks in time A slumbering divinity who feeds on fallen timelines. It devours the futures of those who gain its favour just after their happiest moment, leaving them to exist there forever. As a revenant legend it grants limited chronomancy, enabling Cara to speed up and slow down time, manifest potentiality echoes to attack her enemies and even halt the clock for a few seconds. It offers council to Cara, though it is not always aware enough to differentiate timelines, making its advice inconsistant at times

Nihal'at'Zara, the mother An ancient machine god of life, ruling over her inumerable children on a distant world far from Tyria. Her immaculate algorithms have formulated the perfect iteration of healing magic, named lifelight, which flows from her mechanical bulk and sustains all life under her perview. As a legend she grants this power to Cara, giving her powerful healing abilities. However, this healing power often comes with unwanted 'evolutions' as Nihal's will begins to mould and perfect the recipiant of healing, thus her lifelight is best used sparingly. While those who suffer the full extent of her alterations are happy, they are no longer mortal. Nihal offers no words to Cara, only the feeling of being endlessly loved by an infinite being.

Tezhtnagtz, the first singularity A slumbering mists divinity who exists as a mists-borne replica of the first black hole to be born from the void. They gaze out from every gravity well across every world, their will stretching across every graviton in the universe. As a revenant legend their power manifests as control over gravitational forces, ripping apart enemies with tidal forces or deflecting attacks by altering trajectories. they speak to Cara of every violation of gravity on Tyria. With all the floating islands present, they speak a lot, listing every rock and floating golem that contradicts their only tenet.

The Devouring Radiance The one legend that Cara avoids using at all costs, an active threat to the universe manifesting as a bright crimson light that eats away at reality. If it can, it will devour every light in the sky. It's power in battle is... unmatched, but it degrades the mind to use.

If Cara had to order them in terms of preference, she'd say Qli-Thoth, Tezhtnagtz, Nihal'at'Zara, channeling nothing at all, then finally The Devouring Radiance

(gameplay wise, Qli-Thoth is kind of the Shiro equivalent, Tezhtnagtz is the Jalis equivalent, Nihal'at'Zara is the Ventari equivalent and The Devouring Radiance is the Mallyx equivalent)

FremiMay Day 10: Crossover

There once was a small child that was quite sickly. His parents abandoned him due to an infection that he was not expected to live through. The child was destined to die by the age of two.

However, when researchers found this child they decided they would become his new parents. The child learned simple things like the ability of sound or movement. He could not speak himself, but he understood speech directed at him. The child could not read, but he loved books.

The one thing that the researchers learned about the child as he grew is that the child loved anything about the ocean. The child could spend hours gazing longingly upon the pages of picture books. The child would make pathetic scribbles of sharks with crayons. The child dreamed for the ocean.

If you remember, this child is quite sickly. While the researchers managed to greatly expand his life expectancy by keeping him in a lab, any exposure to the outside world could remove all progress they have made. So. To let the child visit the ocean they have him fruit flavored candy. This candy let the child freely experience colorful dreams where he could swim with sharks and bask in coral reefs.

The child loved the lab like his home, and he loved the researchers as if they were his parents. Even if the child was unable to speak, he would use his frail legs to follow his caretakers around.

The only thing he could do in this tiny lab was run around and dream, and the child was content with that.

All Gender Bathroom

I was at QLI, a rehabilitation center in Omaha, Nebraska and noticed their bathrooms did not state woman or male, and did not have a person symbolizing a gender. The symbol was a toilet and it said "All Gender".

This correlates to this class because it challenges the traditional binaries about women's and men's bathrooms. Having an all-gender bathroom, allows anyone no matter their gender identity to use the bathroom and have a private space.
