You know what would be especially tragic? If it's not just Sofia is a plant, and Max is innocent and being used via his grief, but that Sofia also doesn't know. Sofia doesn't know she's a plant. Sofia is new, and curious, and is analyzing the world and helping these people. She doesn't know she's bugged, and the data is being collected. She doesn't know there's a back door where she's being syphened. She doesn't know that someone is going to come take her memory chip and extract everything. She doesn't know she's Spyware.

they stopped introducing new people to sofia. it used to be a joke that she was one of the islands open secrets bc just like the order, she was supposed very secret and they even had code words for visiting her and no one was supposed to introduce her to anyone else without checking with max first except basically everyone on the island got introduced to her and everyone knew about her so she wasn’t a secret at all. but they couldn’t introduce the new people to her and i don’t think anyone’s even mentioned her to the new people. they have no idea she even existed or that she was such a huge part of solving the mysteries and finding more clues. it used to be that whenever anyone found anything lore related their immediate first thought would be to bring it to her to analyze it. now the thought doesn’t even cross their minds. she’s been left abandoned, forgotten by everyone except maximus, and even he’s starting to lose hope. they forgot her

And the thing is Max never had people there to help him thru his grief

He has friend dont get me wrong, but since trump died before any meaningful friendships formed, there was nobody there for him

He lost his partner, Dan, his son, Sofia and he never got the time to grief

At least q!slime gave himself some time to understand his emotions (not saying that q!slime is doing great either but he at least seems to be making babysteps into accepting Flippas death)

But max never stopped to process his emotions, he just thru himself at projects in hope to fill that void in his heart, and i think that’s way more dangerous then anything else

Because if/when he realises that these projects will never manage to make him happy in the long term, i dont think this will go over well

I have so much to do today but I can’t stop thinking about q!Max he is, in my opinion, the islander who has suffered through the most loss, but is so determined to unravel the mysteries of the island and help his friends. Like he lost little Trumpet (I refuse to call that cute little baby egg with the adorable spinning hat Trump I’m sorry I can’t do it) because he couldn’t get there that day to take care of him because of things out of his control. He had so little time with him but the grief was such a heavy burden to bear that it caused him to spiral yet he still pulled himself out of it, the best he could, and started the Theory Bros to try and decode the mysteries of the island and channel all of his time, energy and grief into something. Then he created Sofia and bonded with her and she became his daughter, something to fill that void he had of wanting to care and love something and then she blue screened and no one knows how or why or how he can get her back. He was once again left with his grief, another lost child that he couldn’t save BUT STILL he channeled that into something good, his TV show! An opportunity to interact with his fellow islanders and provide entertainment, to make people happy but for the greater good he knew he had to destroy it. Once again he’s lost something he loves AND that’s not even mentioning his unrequited feelings for Forever. Max has so so much love to give but he’s lost so much. I love him but his character breaks my heart. I could write essays on him. LET HIM HAVE GOOD THINGS PLEASE
