and rippen's relationship with larry could have easily been done the same way. rippen views larry as dumb blah blah. it couldve been like that. but in reality, he's really only annoyed with larry for just. being annoying you know. you can love someone while thinking theyre annoying! theyre like a married couple, so its funny and endearing especially cuz its been shown that they really love and care about each other larry is more obvious about it, and rippen acts like he doesnt care. lets think about the time he apologized to larry for replacing him, then hugging him and having no shame about it afterwards. i fucking love that scene. yes we're hugging, and? remember the time where rippen thought larry was dying and started sobbing over him while saying he was nothing without larry? that still hurts me a bit when you consider rippen's whole self-worth thing because of his family

Rippen would be defenitly poseidon and larry maybe could be aeolus (i know in the musical its not technically it's not against oddiseous but maybe larry could give the bag to penn so that they would indeed have it and take them directly to rippen) or it could also be the scylla (I don't know, I imagine larry wanting to give the soldiers a hug with the torches but ends up making a massacre)
