The Song Fic Collab Masterlist
For 2025, both Sem (@this-song-thats-only-for-you ) and I wanted to encourage each other to write a story each month. We chose to work with the same kpop song, and not tell the other what we came up with until it was written, so we could showcase how the same prompt can be used differently - or similar in some cases, I'm sure!
Our stories will go live on the 21st of every month NZST. And you can find each one listed here.
JANUARY: Nothing's Over by Infinite
Chelle's Story - Im Changkyun x female reader // angst
Sem's Story - Jackson Wang x female reader // angst

Hop To It - [An Easter Collab To Dye For]

Summary: Spending Easter with your family and your boyfriend is always special, but this year the Easter Bunny has another gift in mind.
Pairing: Hoseok (Wonho) x Y/N (reader)
Genre: Easter Fluff
Word count: 894
It was one of your favourite holidays, and you were excited to share it with Hoseok. You didn’t realize how much you had in common with your boyfriend until Easter came around. You were known in your family as the one to give the best gifts, but Hoseok was on another level. He loved spoiling everyone with presents of stuffed animals and chocolates, and no expense was spared, especially when it came to your niece and nephew.
Pulling up to your parents’ house you shook your head lightly as he jumped out of the car, rushing towards the backseat to begin pulling out all the presents.
“I think you got a little carried away this time babe.”
“You can never have enough chocolate Y/N, you know that!” he said teasingly as you came around to help him with the assortment of chocolates and plushies, all the while shaking your head at the sight. He wasted no time in passing you the extras, filling your arms up in a matter of seconds.
“Is that everything?” You asked, your voice muffled behind the wall of gifts now cradled in your arms.
“Just one more thing. Okay, I’m good. Let’s go.”
“Hoseok, a little help?!” you called out as you heard his voice retreat, unable to see where you were going. Suddenly you felt his body against your back, nudging you gently into the direction of your parents’ house, his soft laughter vibrating through you.
You hadn’t noticed what that one last thing was until you were inside. Placing the presents down onto the table and hugging your family in greeting you turned to face your boyfriend, an amused smile spreading onto your lips. Of course, he had.
“And what are those?” you asked knowingly, nudging your head in his direction.
“Oh, these?” pointing to the top of his head. “My ears, of course, can’t be the Easter bunny without them. Oh, and this. Can’t forget my cottontail.”
Turning around he wriggled his behind, emphasizing the fluffy bunny tail attached to his pants. Spotting your niece and nephew he crouched down to his knees, hands placed in front of him as he started to hop in their direction.
“Can anyone help me find my chocolate eggs?” Hoseok asked, in a voice that wasn’t his own as he continued to hop across the kitchen, his head moving from side to side in search of his missing eggs. Sungrah and Sungjin came bolting towards him, almost knocking him over in the process. Their excited little faces were completely mesmorised by the giant ears and tail.
“They’re outside!” They said in unison, their chubby little fingers pointing out into the garden.
“They are? I don’t remember leaving any out there.”
He shook his head and squished his eyes shut, pretending not to believe them, which only made them giggle more. You smiled at the three of them, your heart feeling full at seeing Hoseok with your family. It made you look forward to the future and the thought of what it might be like with your own children one day.
“Are you two going to help the Easter bunny find his chocolate eggs??” you asked animatedly as you walked towards them, kneeling down yourself to be at their height.
“He’s not the Easter bunny Aunt Y/N.” Sungjin announced, his brown eyes looking at you questioningly.
“Yes, I am!” Hoseok protested, becoming more animated as he hopped up and down on the spot.
“Nuh uh” Sungrah shook her head “You’re Uncle Hoseok, silly.”
“Mhm. Uncle Hoseok.” Sungjin agreed, the pair of them smiling brightly at you both.
Your heart felt like it was going to burst. It was the first time the twins had called him their Uncle, and you hadn’t known how much it would mean to you to hear it until it had happened. A tingling sensation ran through your whole body as you turned to see Hoseok mirroring your reaction. Smiling, you gently reached for his hand, squeezing it tightly as if to bring him back to life. He turned to face you, his brown eyes now glassy as he squeezed your hand back.
“Uncle,” he whispered to himself, smiling at hearing the word again. Regaining his composure he stood up “Who wants to be on Uncle Hoseok’s team to find the most chocolate eggs?”
“Me!” the twins said in unison, jumping up and down with their hands in the air.
“Quick, let’s go. Last one out is a rotten egg!”
They both squealed in excitement, the two of them quickly running outside in search of the hidden eggs. Hoseok leaned forward kissing you tenderly.
“Rotten egg,” he teased, a hearty laugh leaving him as he tickled your sides. Shaking your head you swatted him playfully as he attempted to turn you around, preventing you from chasing after them.
"Let go, Uncle Hoseok," you called, writhing in his strong grip. "I don't want to come last!"
"You don't want to be on my team?" he questioned, kissing the side of your head affectionately.
"Oh I do," you admitted, ceasing your attempts to escape and shooting him another smile. "Thanks for making Easter special again."
"Next year, let's aim to have our own little bunny hm?"
You gaped after the man that dashed outside, your cheeks flushing with colour before you dashed after him, joining in with the fun.

Hot Cross Bun - [An Easter Collab To Dye For]

Summary: You wanted to bake Easter treats with your boyfriend, but what you got wasn’t what you were expecting.
Pairing: Doyoung (NCT) x Y/N (reader)
Genre: Easter Fluff
Word count: 922
A/N: This is the final piece in the ‘An Easter Collab To Dye For’ - a collaboration with @prettywordsyouleft I hope you’ve enjoyed all the stories!
It was Easter time and you had always wanted to do an Easter activity together with your significant other, and this year you could. You had both decided to make hot cross buns together, what could go wrong with that? Hours later into your plan and you were somehow regretting all the life decisions that had led you to this point.
You knew Doyoung was methodical, but you honestly had no idea just how much. The other guys had warned you not to venture into the kitchen with him, but you had waved them off, too excited to be doing something together through the holiday season.
“I’ll be fine. He can’t be that bad.” You reassured them, scoffing at their wariness.
Boy you had wished you’d listened to them. You always imagined baking together to be somewhat of a cliché experience, the way a couple in a movie would play fight with the flour, and end up kissing romantically in each others embrace. You had hoped for the same life changing experience to happen between the two of you, instead you were left standing in the kitchen watching as Doyoung continued to read through the recipe for the tenth time.
“Doyoung.”
“Could you please pass me the sultanas?”
He barely looked up from the instructions, his hand held out towards you, waiting as you passed him the packet. He was following the recipe to a tee, no measurement had been overlooked, and everything was as precise as it needed to be. If you hadn’t have been in the kitchen and seen it with your own eyes, you would think Doyoung hadn’t even began. The work bench was immaculate, not an ingredient out of place.
Baking was supposed to be fun, and you were supposed to make a mess while you did. How else were you supposed to know if you were doing it right?
“Doyoung.”
“Hmm?”
“This isn’t fun. I wanted to have fun baking together, but you’re not even looking at me.”
A sigh leaving you at your admission, and a pout forming on your lips soon after as you crossed your arms against your chest in frustration. He finally looked up from the task at hand, his brown eyes washing over you with confusion.
“I wanted to get everything correct. To make sure they turn out perfect. Is that not right?”
“I don’t care if they turn out perfect. They’re just hot cross buns!” You exclaimed, your voice raising an octave as your frustration came bubbling to the surface.
“Then why did you want to bake? Don’t you want them to taste good?” he asked, his brows knitting together, unable to understand why you were so upset with him.
“Doyoung.”
“What?”
It all happened so fast, you were unsure if you had actually grabbed the bowl at first. Instinctively you reached out towards the bench, picking up the nearest bowl and throwing its contents in Doyoungs’ direction. You froze, your mouth agape as you took in what was in front of you. Doyoung was completely and utterly still, his eyes bulging from the sockets as he tried to contain his rapid breathing. He was entirely covered in plain flour.
“What was that for?!” he squeaked, his hands bunching into fists, his eyes washing over his torso and seeing white where black once was.
You on the other hand couldn’t contain yourself, you bit you lip softly, trying to prevent the laughter from escaping, but to no avail.
“Oh my god! I’m.. haha I’m so-“
“Don’t say it.” He warned, stepping back slightly. He took a deep breath as if trying to regain his composure. He never liked to not be in control of himself, and this had certainly taken him by surprise.
“I am sorry. I just wanted to have fun together, and you were being so uptight. I didn’t know how else to snap you out of it.” You confessed, walking over to him slowly, your hands reaching out for his, squeezing them tightly in apology. He took a deep steadying breath in, reciprocating and squeezing your hand back.
“There were better ways to go about it, don’t you think?”
“Mm.” You mumbled, nodding your head in agreement. A soft smile spread across his face, his brown eyes sparkling as his gaze washed over you before stopping on your lips. He leant down slowly, one hand pulling you into him further as his lips met yours tenderly. This was the moment you were hoping for, you always loved the feeling of his lips on yours. He was gentle, loving and passionate all at once, making you forget everything else around you. Unexpectedly you were brought out of your haze, suddenly feeling a wetness soak into your hair.
“What the-“
“I’m not as uptight as you think Y/N.” Doyoung admitted, unable to hide the chuckle in his chest at the sight of your now egg soaked hair. You gasped, pushing him away gently, as you snorted, unable to believe he had pulled one over you.
“That was uncalled for Doyoung..” you warned, hands now on your hips, staring him down incredulously.
“But now we are the hot cross buns. Get it. Because we’re covered in the ingredients, and you’re cross with me.” He teased.
“Oh you think you’re funny? Don’t you?”
“Very.” He smiled, a satisfied glint in his eyes as he approached you, a cloth in hand. “I’m sorry you weren’t having fun before” Apologising as he began to wipe the egg from your hair.
“But I am now.”

Labelling Love | Part 1 (Collab)
Summary: Meeting you changed the way Eunwoo viewed romance and love entirely.
Pairing: Cha Eunwoo x female reader
Genre: university au / romance / fluff
Warnings: none
A/N: Welcome to the second series in the monthly Love In Fours Ways collab with @jackiejacks923 @noona-clock & @this-song-thats-only-for-you . In the final week of each month during this collab, we’ll be each sharing a mini-series using 4 of the pictures/concepts illustrated in the book that inspired our series that I’ve credited below.

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 // Collab Masterlist
Part 1 - Not Being Able To Concentrate Because She's There
Cha Eunwoo didn’t believe in love at first sight. Or upon a second or even a third look. He was certain that it was nothing but a phenomenon of the hopeless romantic. A guise that someone who wanted to fall in love badly held over the top of feelings that could be more easily described as attractive or interesting. Eunwoo had met many people in his lifetime that he could easily commit to saying he was attracted to or interested in upon first sight. Such was the nature of being human, so he thought.
However, love was something that came with time. A feeling that grew with experiences shared together, not something you felt straight away. He was a firm believer of this.
So what exactly could he call the feeling that was making his heart beat erratically in his chest as he watched you right now?
Blinking forcibly in attempts to regain control over his physical reaction, Eunwoo licked at his lips, realising his breath was heightened. Now clamping his lips together, he did everything he could to tear his eyes away from your direction and back to the guide in front of him.
“This is the campus library. I hope you took down notes on how to get here because you’ll be spending a lot of your time cramming here. There are eleven floors and this place houses pretty much every book about absolutely everything you could ask a question about. This area here is known as the main study lobby. Most students find the second-floor study area pretty noisy though so if you’re…”
Eunwoo lost his focus again on the tour and slipped back to you at one of the tables quietly reading a book. Sliding your hand onto your neck to better support your head as you continued perusing the pages before you, Eunwoo gulped as his skin began to tingle.
“Its attraction,” he breathed out slowly, trying to claim the feeling overwhelming him as that. It didn’t feel like enough to say it was mere attraction though and Eunwoo frowned. “I’m interested too.”
“And I’m intrigued,” another voice announced, nudging Eunwoo playfully. Glancing at the fellow freshman at his side, Eunwoo cringed at his high school buddy Harvey overhearing his outspoken thoughts. “Who are you attracted to? The tour guide? She’s like forty, dude.”
“No, but if you are, by all means ask her out when we’re done.”
“So then who? The rest of us are guys. But hey, if you’re unsure and want to experiment-”
“Could you stop yourself from talking instead?” Eunwoo replied dryly, dragging his feet reluctantly as the group started to move along. He glanced over his shoulder back in your direction, blinking when he found the table you had been reading at now empty. Spinning around, he thought he saw the end of your ponytail descending the stairs at the front of the building but he couldn’t be too sure.
Harvey jostled him around. “Whoever she is, maybe you imagined her. She could be the girl of your college dreams.”
“Sometimes I wonder if I would be better off imagining up a new friend than having you around, Harvey,” Eunwoo commented before letting out a sigh.
Perhaps you were just a fleeting moment of temptation, after all.

Eunwoo was simultaneously relieved and horrified to find that you existed the following day at his first lecture. Harvey’s teasing had simmered down somewhat when the tour moved out of the library and Eunwoo began to believe maybe his friend was right and he conjured you up.
Seeing you in the flesh again solved the puzzle of whether you existed or not.
However, as the hairs stood up on his arms and his eyes fixated on the side of your head as you moved across the front of the lecture hall to the staircase, Eunwoo was troubled by seeing you in person again.
His physical reaction only felt greater this time as well.
Not this row, he begged internally as you came closer to where he was set up, closing his eyes when you diverted towards him. Of course, the universe was testing him right now. Still, he didn’t understand why you of all the people in this world had to cause his insides to implode with nervous excitement like this.
“Hello,” you greeted softly and pointed at the seat you had stopped before. “Can I sit next to you?”
“Oh uh um well uh-”
You grinned. “It’s just the centre of the room and the row, so...”
“That’s exactly why I chose this spot,” he admitted and you bit your lip to control your delight before sitting down.
“I’ve always been the only one who chooses by the environment on where to sit that I’ve known of.”
“Well it makes the most sense to,” he managed to comment and you nodded along eagerly. “You have to be comfortable in order to learn.”
“Precisely! I’m so glad to finally meet someone who thinks the same. I’m Y/N and you are?”
“Eunwoo,” he replied, taking the hand you held outstretched towards him.
He had to clamp his mouth shut before the squeak building up in his throat was expelled, his cheeks feeling hot with his efforts. You mirrored the flushed expression before letting go.
“It’s nice to meet you, Eunwoo. I hope this semester will be productive for the pair of us.”
The first lecture was anything but productive. Eunwoo couldn’t concentrate for the first time in a learning environment in years. And when he hadn’t been as focused in the past, it was due to being unwell and needing to be resting at home, not because a gorgeous girl had sat down beside him. He was well versed in ignoring others around him when learning.
It threw him completely to be unable to focus at all with you next to him.
Eunwoo chalked it up to first day nerves. Or anything else he could kid himself of. But after a second lecture with no true coherency of what was being spoken about in the class and then on the third being called upon and blanking over an answer he knew in great detail from previous study, Eunwoo knew it was due to you.
The problem was he liked you too much to try and avoid you. It wasn’t just the physical reaction now either. Every time you arrived early for class and you chatted over topics before the professor arrived. He was enamoured by the way you thought. Conversation was all too easy between you.
Which was why you didn’t hesitate to gesture to his empty page. “Another day of not taking down notes?”
“Hah, yeah.”
“Don’t tell me you’re one of those geniuses who don’t need to write down information to remember and ace all your tests,” you breathed, leaning towards him.
Eunwoo wished right now he was one of those types. He was immensely grateful that all lectures were recorded so he could cram in note-taking later when he was back home. Staring down at his blank page, he let out a nervous laugh. “Nope, that’s not me.”
“Then? Is the content too hard? I could help you during lunch today to get your head around it?” you offered, blinking softly.
He should have been honest with you then, however, the offer to have a meal with you seemed more desirable than anything else and he found himself nodding along. “Could you?”
“It’ll be my pleasure! I can’t have you falling behind so soon into the semester.” Eunwoo groaned out loud as you giggled. Glancing at you with a brief pout, he then grinned. “I’ll buy lunch then for your help.”
“Ooh, deal!”

It was evident even to you after twenty minutes of attempting to explain the situation that Eunwoo was distracted. You didn’t know why, however. At first, he was determined to make his way through the entirety of lunch fully invested in what you had to say. And for that matter, he had been invested enough to hear each word you spoke, they just didn’t make enough sense. Was it because of the perfume you had on today? It had been fragrant in class earlier on, but now squeezed into a tiny table at the back of one of the bustling campus cafes, it washed over him completely. Was it the way you brushed your hair away from your neck and placed it all to one side of your head, exposing your delicate skin? Honestly, Eunwoo couldn’t tell why he was being like this, and admittedly he was growing quite concerned for his sanity.
You were driving him down a path he had never wandered before.
Harvey’s remark about university being known as an experimental time in a young person’s life came to the forefront of his brain. Was his physical attraction to you that out of control that he couldn’t focus in your company? Or was it just you as a whole?
He whimpered with the lack of an answer.
Glancing away from your book, you placed down your pen and sighed. “This isn’t helping, is it?”
“No.”
“And it’s not the professor that’s the problem, is it?” you continued and Eunwoo shook his head sadly. “I bet the content isn’t that hard for you-”
“It’s you.”
“Excuse me?” you asked slowly, brows knitting together. “I’m the problem?”
Eunwoo opened his mouth, only for embarrassment to flare up within his stomach. How could he tell you that it was because of boyish feelings that he couldn’t concentrate in your company? He’d barely known you for a week now. It would haunt him for the rest of his semester if he confessed this early into things.
However, his lack of response had done enough damage, your hands hastily grabbing for your belongings scattered over the table in between lunch. “I’m sorry I’m such a problem. You should have told me earlier, Eunwoo.”
“No, it’s nothing like that!”
“I’ll sit somewhere else on Monday so you can concentrate on the lecture. Good luck with your semester.”
“Y/N!” he called out hopelessly, reaching out for your lower arm. You halted all movement and stared at his gentle grip over your arm.
He knew he had no other option.
“I can’t concentrate because ever since I met you, I can’t stop thinking about you.”

Part 4 - Visiting The Library Together
Even after all this time of dating you, Eunwoo realised this was the first time he was meeting you at the library. He was always the one to arrive first or you would enter together.
It only hit him when the déjà vu experience washed over him as he stood in the lobby staring at you reading a book at the table. Much as it had two years ago, his heart began to thud erratically in his chest and his breathing heightened.
Unlike then, however, he grinned.
Eunwoo had been so scared to accept what he felt back then could have led to something as magical as he had with you now. Perhaps he was a hopeless romantic after all.
He was certain now that he had fallen in love with you at first sight.
Of course, it had taken him all this time to admit that to himself. However, ever since he had told you last winter that he loved you for the first time, he didn’t go long between uttering it again. And if he wasn’t in a position to say it out loud, he would show you.
Which was what he did when he reached out to give your shoulder a gentle squeeze before sitting down across from you at the table.
Closing the textbook, you rested your hands under your chin and stared over at him lovingly. “Hey you.”
“Studying going well?”
“Hm, let me see,” you said softly, staring at him for some time before nodding with a sly smile. “Yes, I think you’ll do.”
Eunwoo couldn’t help but chuckle despite rolling his eyes at your response. “Quit looking at my face and do something more productive. Exams are just around the corner.”
“I’d aced a test all about you.”
“There’s still a whole lot about me you have to learn, don’t be so rash.”
“Maybe you should give me a mock exam so I can stretch my expertise,” you offered and Eunwoo shook his head as he pulled out his laptop and textbook. You whined lightly. “You’re here to actually study?”
“Well, that’s why we meet up in the library, Y/N.”
“Didn’t you once say this is where you saw me before our first class together?”
“You remember that?”
“I even chose the same table.”
Eunwoo tilted his head as he looked over at you. “You choose the exact same table every time you study on this level.”
“Because it’s-”
“In the center of the room and provides the best studying environment. I know.”
You folded your arms across your chest with a smirk. “Are you practising for your exam on me?”
“No, I don’t have time to take that test yet,” he admitted, opening the screen to his laptop. “Though there is something I realised today.”
“Which is?”
“Back then I was struggling to know what I felt when I saw you for the first time.” Smiling over at you, Eunwoo entangled his legs with yours under the table. “It seems completely out of my depth, however.”
“What did you feel? Attraction? Did I intrigue you?” you wondered, dropping your hands onto the table and leaning in closer to learn the answer as if Eunwoo was about to utter a secret.
So he prepared it like one, looking around you both before whispering. “Love.”
“Don’t mess with me!” you huffed, getting up and heading into the rows of bookshelves to the right. Eunwoo abandoned his computer and followed you, pulling you further into an aisle where fewer people frequented. He then placed a hand upon the shelf above your head and the other around your waist. You gasped at his bold move. “What are you doing?!”
“You always call me a romantic. Isn’t this one of the moves made in romance novels? The handsome student blocks the main protagonist up against the books and hopes they don’t whisper of the sins that happen upon them?” he suggested before ducking his head down to kiss you.
Despite your concern before, once his lips melded against yours, you gripped at the front of his top and stretched up to meet him midway. The kiss was sweeter than usual, perhaps being chased with the concept of being caught out by another student. This idea spurred Eunwoo on, kissing you until he sensed movement coming towards you both.
Instantly reaching for the spine of a book, he then flipped it open and then blinked.
Of course, it was in Latin.
“Well, this is rather a difficult text to understand,” he mentioned as you slapped his chest and barely gave him the time to place it back on the shelf before dragging him back to your table. Gesturing for him to collect his belongings, you then dashed out of the library, all but running down the main steps leading into the largest building on campus.
And then you started to laugh.
“Okay, the one time you purposely put effort into being romantic and it feels way too much!” you confessed in between giggles and Eunwoo bit at his bottom lip whilst shrugging.
“You didn’t like it?”
“Who wouldn’t like that?” you admitted, poking him in the chest. “Especially with such a handsome student like you.”
“You know, as students, we should be studying right now,” he reminded, but you shook your head adamantly.
“How am I meant to understand anything today after hearing my boyfriend tell me he fell in love at first sight with me?”
“I guess that might be difficult to navigate.”
“I’m jealous,” you told him with a pout and Eunwoo frowned. Following you over to the stone ledge lining the library’s courtyard, you let out a dejected sigh. “I can’t say I fell in love at first sight with you.”
“Isn’t that a good thing?”
“Why would that be a good thing?” you wondered and Eunwoo leaned over to brush a strand of hair away from your face.
“Because you’ve been able to approach us with clarity for a whole lot longer than I have. From the very beginning, I’ve been overwhelmed by you. And it confused me because I thought I didn’t believe in things like love at first sight. Even though it’s the only thing that makes sense to me now, I wish I could contest it. Just so my logical side can be satisfied.”
“Logic has no place inside the heart,” you murmured, placing your hand over his. You beamed up at him. “That’s what belongs in your mind. Your heart led you to me. You shouldn’t regret that.”
“And you shouldn’t be jealous that it took you some time to let your heart find mine. I mean, you acted before me in most situations.”
“It’s been both of us. I distinctively remember almost face planting last Christmas when you told me you loved me.”
Eunwoo laughed. “I did appreciate you asking me out on our first date too.”
“We should continue to surprise each other like this.”
“Deal.”
“So what should we do now that we’re not going to study today?” you asked and Eunwoo shot you a look.
“Who says I can’t study today?”
“You’ll leave me to struggle like this?!”
“If you want to get behind in your studies all because I said some cheesy romantic lines to you, then that’s up to you.”
“Are you kidding me?!”
“You’re welcome to come over to mine whilst I study,” he offered and you glowered at Eunwoo, folding your arms firmly across your middle again.
“Can’t you go back to being the unproductive one in my company?”
“I had enough of that back then. It’s your turn now.” Eunwoo smirked. “But don’t worry I know how to help you with your problem. We’ll work together as a team. If you spend all your time with me, maybe you’ll be able to overcome this moment.”
You smiled, though your next words contradicted the gesture. “You’re not funny.”
“Who knows, you might not be the only one with feelings to explore,” he continued and you couldn’t hold back your laugh before diving into his arms.
Nestling against his shoulder, you let out a sigh of content. “I love visiting the library with you. We have spent a lot of our time together in that place.”
“Do you want to go back in but up to another floor?” he suggested and you lifted your head to glance at Eunwoo. He grinned mischievously. “If you can let me get an entire page of my exam essay written, I might even reward you again in the bookshelves.”
“What an offer,” you replied with a laugh and shook your head. “You underestimate your own self-control. I bet you’ll find yourself staring across at me and grow distracted from your studies altogether.”
“What will you do if that happens?”
Standing, you tugged Eunwoo back towards the building. “I guess I’ll have to press you into a bookshelf myself.”
“So either way, we’ll be thankful that the books don’t have ears?” he surmised and you giggled, heading back to the library, shooting him a demure look over your shoulder before bounding up the stairs again.
Eunwoo chased after you, knowing that he was eager to prove you wrong and end up rewarded. And even if he did fail and found himself staring at you mid-thought, he knew it would only lead to kissing you in the seclusion of an aisle of books.
Had he known back then that the initial reaction he felt towards you would lead to this; he knew he wouldn’t have believed it for a second.
But now that he believed in love at first sight, he was certain every time he looked up at you would lead him to further experiences shared together.
And that’s what love was all about, after all.

Part 3 - Stopping In An Alley To Tell Her You Love Her
It felt like a distant memory now that months had travelled between you. The first semester came and went, and you both rejoiced passing your exam period with relatively decent scores. Especially considering the hairy beginning to the paper Eunwoo took with you.
“I’m impressed you stared more at your exam paper than at me,” you teased when you finished checking your scores online in your dorm room.
Rolling his eyes, Eunwoo playfully tapped you on the nose. “Some things are more important to focus on.”
“Like your girlfriend?” you prompted and Eunwoo couldn’t stop his lips from spreading into a smile.
“I finished seventeen minutes before you.”
“You watched me all that time?!” you guessed and Eunwoo shrugged before pulling you up from your seat. “What are we doing?”
“We have two whole weeks before our next semester starts. What do you think we’re doing?”
“I swear if you say going to the library or-”
Eunwoo cut you off with a chaste kiss before sending you a dazzling smile. “Pack your bags.”
“What? Why?”
“I’m going home for the holidays. Don’t you want to come with me?”
“And meet your parents?!” you squeaked out, heading over to your wardrobe anyway. Eunwoo slumped down onto your bed and watched as you turned frazzled. You shot him a helpless expression. “I don’t know if I can come.”
“Why not? Who am I meant to stare at whilst I’m away then?”
“Don’t!” you whined outlandishly and stomped your foot. “This is serious! You can’t just spring it on me that we’re going to meet your parents, Eunwoo!”
“Why not? You didn’t tell me I was meeting your mother until you introduced her as that when I joined you for brunch last month.”
“That wasn’t exactly planned, you know.”
“Nor is this. I just don’t want to say goodbye to you now so come with me instead,” he pleaded and you sighed heavily, sweeping your hair up into a messy ponytail before stepping over to him and leaned in for another kiss. Eunwoo gave you three extras for encouragement and you finally nodded.
“Okay, let’s do this.”
He grinned, getting up to help you with the packing. Admittedly he was meant to be going home by himself. However, the idea of leaving you made his chest ache more than logic could reason. Over the months, Eunwoo found himself giving in to the irrational side more often. It was tiring to try and understand how you made him feel as your relationship progressed. In some ways, he knew he was falling in love. But Eunwoo couldn’t figure where the falling had started.
He sometimes mused over the novel idea that it had happened when he first met you.
Still, it was easier not to question himself anymore and just enjoy experiencing each moment.
Which was what he had done for the entire trip home.
Of course, his parents had gushed over your impromptu appearance. Although they knew he had been dating someone this semester, Eunwoo hadn’t gone into great depths over the phone just how serious he felt about you. Again, because he didn’t know what to describe it as.
Now that you were in his childhood house and surrounded by his family, however, Eunwoo realised this was a first for him. He’d never brought someone special home for the holidays, or for any real occasion.
Something his mother hadn’t let him forget about ever since your arrival. “You know, Y/N, this is the best gift my son has ever given me. I’m so happy you’re here with us these holidays.”
“Oh, it’s my pleasure,” you mentioned with a glance in Eunwoo’s direction. “Thank you for welcoming me into your home at such short notice.”
“Nonsense! You are welcome here any time!”
“We’ll go get the ingredients from the store you asked me to get earlier,” he told his mother before dragging you to the front door.
“Why did you bring me with you?”
Eunwoo cleared his throat awkwardly. “I realised it might not be a good idea to leave you two alone together.”
“Why?”
“I found her searching for the photo albums,” he mentioned with a scowl as you both walked down the tiny street-way towards the main shopping area.
You giggled as you watched your footing on the light dusting of snow covering the footpath. You then shot him a wicked grin. “I’ll have to ask to see them before I leave!”
“I knew my honesty would be a curse some time in my life,” he grumbled as you giggled further.
Eunwoo stopped walking then, staring at your animated expression. Your breath was visible in the colder temperature, and your face barely peeked out between a scarf and beanie. Your cheeks were flushed from the sting of the wintry air and your amusement.
He couldn’t get enough of this look.
However, you grew intrigued, waving a hand in front of his face. “Earth to Eunwoo, what are you thinking about right now?”
“Do we need to get spring onions?” he asked jarringly, blinking out of his thoughts and walking off again.
“Are you okay?” you asked, catching up and slipping your gloved hand into his. “You’re being weird.”
“Shouldn’t you be used to that now? I’m constantly weird when it comes to you.”
“Romantic,” you reminded and nuzzled into his side further.
“We better get these groceries before another snow flurry hits,” he excused, hurrying down the path to the market.
His unease continued for the rest of the trip. Maybe it was the nostalgia of the area and having you fit so easily into the places he had frequented as a child. That was all he could think of as you managed to purchase all that his mother had written down on the list to fetch.
Actually, that was a lie.
A growing need to speak his mind was washing over him. It was bubbling right under the surface as you walked back to his family home with a bag of groceries in both hands each. Every small glance you gave him accompanied with a delighted smile brought the emotion further to the forefront until he was certain he would never be this sure about anything ever again.
“I love you,” he blurted out when you walked down the alleyway towards his street again, and you stumbled to a stop, losing some of your balance given the snow on the ground. Eunwoo lurched towards you to save you from falling, both of you ending up pressed against a brick wall.
Soul searching once he caught your stunned stare, Eunwoo smiled softly. “I love you, Y/N.”
“So suddenly?” you breathed, blinking slowly.
Eunwoo chuckled. “No, I think it’s been for some time.”
“Why would you throw this on me when my hands are full?” you wondered distractedly, glancing at the bags you held. Eunwoo reached out for them, taking them with his own.
And then he leaned in closer. “I love you.”
“Goodness I heard you the first time,” you mentioned, still struggling with coherency. “You need to give me a chance to restart my heart after such a confession!”
Instead, he leaned in and brushed his lips over yours, catching the tail end of your surprise over the confession. Your answer was delivered through the earnest kiss you gave him.
When he finally lifted his head away from yours to suck in a deep breath, you cupped his jaw in both of your hands and smiled tenderly. “I love you too.”
“Tell me again.”
“Why, because you told me multiple times too?” you wondered with a laugh. Shaking your head you pecked his lips first. “I love you, I love you, I love you!”
“Good.”
“Good?” you echoed and Eunwoo nodded.
“My mother was right. This year is the best present I’ve been able to give her. And to myself as well.”
“And you say you’re not romantic at all,” you mumbled before placing your hands upon his chest. “I agree though. I was worried about university back when the first school year began. Meeting you was the best thing that happened to me.”
“Not the A you got for your overall grade?” he offered and you slapped his padded jacket front bitterly.
“That was an A-minus.”
“What am I then?” he wondered and you sighed.
“My A-plus for this semester.”
“And for next semester?”
“I can’t grade you ahead of time,” you admittedly sincerely and Eunwoo leaned in to kiss you again.
“But I love you.”
“Maybe you’re going to get an A-plus next semester too,” you agreed with a laugh, gesturing for him to follow you back to his home.
Eunwoo was glad he could finally label something with certainty when it came to you now.

Part 2 - The Moment Just Before The Actual Kiss, Which Is Sometimes Even Sweeter Than The Kiss Itself
Blinking at his admission, your eyes then grew unfocused. “You… you what?”
“I know it’s ridiculous. Believe me, I don’t understand it either,” he continued hastily, letting go of your arm and running a hand through his hair. “But ever since I first saw you, I’ve been distracted like this.”
A small smile ghosted over your lips. “I see.”
“I’m normally rather efficient, not at all a bumbling mess like this.”
“And I make that harder?”
“You’re enjoying this now,” he lamented and you giggled before biting at your bottom lip. Eunwoo couldn’t help but groan at your elated expression. “Meanwhile I think I’m going insane.”
“I think you’re just being really romantic.”
Eunwoo laughed, shaking his head. “Oh no, that’s not me.”
“It’s not?” you echoed, pursing your lips together.
Oh god, why had he noticed them right at that moment?
Blinking rapidly, he sat back in his chair quickly. You watched him before grinning. “What’s not romantic about a guy telling you the reason he can’t think straight is because of you? Most girls dream of being told this, you know.”
“Really? But it’s so…”
“Romantic,” you repeated, your smile splitting your lips further. “Thank you for telling me the truth, Eunwoo.”
He sighed, glancing at you cautiously. “What do we do now about it?”
“Well, if sitting next to me is a bother, we could try moving apart so long as you don’t use this confession as something to avoid me entirely with.” Eunwoo didn’t mention out loud that it had been a thought he possessed, but you seemed to notice and hissed at him. “You can’t!”
“I dislike being this hopeless,” he told you with a pout which only made you further unable to remove your amusement. “Stop having so much fun at my expense!”
“You haven’t asked me what my thoughts are around this situation, Eunwoo.”
“Do I have to? It’s a ridiculous problem to have and I’m already struggling to navigate it myself.”
“We could do it together,” you offered airily, not quite meeting his gaze. “You know, like a team.”
“A team?”
“Yeah, we could work on extending your comfort zone whilst in my company. I’m sure the more time we spend together, you’ll find your footing again. Attraction only bothers people with a crush temporarily.”
Eunwoo glanced around the café before shooting you an exasperated look. “A crush?! Y/N, come-”
“I could take away the crush aspect of your problem, if you want, Eunwoo. Who’s to say I don’t have one too?”
Eunwoo stared at you dumbfounded until he started to grow dizzy. Yearning for fresh air, he barely breathed out an excuse me before dashing for the exit, walking briskly down the sidewalk whilst breathing in deeply.
You caught up to him a moment later. “You’re so dramatic.”
“Not usually,” he replied with a side glance in your direction. He couldn’t help but scrunch up his face when he realised the itch in his palm to reach out for yours.
He pocketed his hands deeply into his jeans.
“So you like me. And perhaps I like you.”
Eunwoo stopped walking and stared at you imploringly. “Did you like me before or after I admitted to being bothered by you?”
“Does it matter?”
“You’re just stunned because a guy said some nice things.”
“No, it’s nothing like that,” you corrected and stepped closer. “I haven’t met someone who I can easily talk to right away like you. Normally I’m really reserved. Plus, I can’t deny that you’re rather handsome, either.”
Eunwoo couldn’t help but laugh then. “So normally we’re both different from how we’re representing to one another now.”
“It means something.”
“I don’t believe in love at first sight,” he warned and you shrugged.
“Did I say I was in love? I just suggested we explore this. I’ll help you get over this issue you’re dealing with and see if what I feel is something worth acting upon. What do you say?”
Eunwoo sighed and after a moment’s thought, he nodded. “That sounds like the best option we have.”

Much to Eunwoo’s surprise, your idea worked well. It took enduring through another two weeks of less than stellar performances from him in class before he found the rhythm needed to be productive at your side. And because this was achieved by spending all his time in between classes with you, you were now efficient study buddies. You bounced ideas off one another, even with your other subjects that you didn’t take together. Eunwoo was also able to spend hours just reading across from you and whilst he still had moments where he stopped and stared or felt his heart racing, he was no longer incapable.
The physical reactions hadn’t stopped though. If anything, they had intensified. He would often find himself itching to reach out for you and sometimes he did that, relishing in the moment of connection. Holding your hand or letting you lean against him when you grew tired at the end of a cramming session made Eunwoo feel more in control of the reactions. He was empowered every time he gave into them.
And that made him realise that things had progressed in his mind further than just a crush.
“What are you doing over the weekend?” you asked during lunch and Eunwoo glanced up at you and shrugged.
“Probably nothing aside from a bit of study.”
“Nothing?” you asked and then shook your head. “That won’t do!”
“Being lazy and not attending school sounds like it’ll do just fine,” he admitted with a smirk and you rolled your eyes impatiently.
“But you could do more than that.”
“I could?” he wondered, looking at you curiously. “Like what?”
“We could go to the arcade or see a movie or-”
“Like a date?” he interrupted and you clamped your mouth shut, giving a small shy nod. He grinned. “Did you just try to ask me out on a date, Y/N?”
“Well you’re taking forever to do so and I just thought that it would be nice to spend time together outside of the university campus and explore more of what this feeling is between us.”
It was his turn to be delighted at your expense, chuckling when you started to grumble incoherently. Eunwoo leaned towards you with another smirk. “When will you pick me up?”
“You’ll go out with me?” you breathed and then a smile grew on your lips. “Really?”
“You’ll have to be prepared for me though. I’ve barely been holding back these last few days from you. If we’re going on a date, who knows what will happen.”
Actually, it wasn’t much different from daily life at your side. So far, you had enjoyed the arcade together and even saw a comedy that made his sides hurt from too much laughter. Now he was holding your hand and swinging it lightly as you ate ice-creams walking alongside the river. Conversation had flowed freely as had the smiles. Eunwoo was pretty sure the corners of his mouth were going to ache tomorrow after how much he’d curled his lips up in pleasure today with you.
Still, there was something that was different.
All day long, he had wanted to kiss you. At little moments, like when you grinned up at him after winning a game you’d tried several rounds on at the arcade. Or when you offered him a piece of popcorn and he had stared at you instead. You had even let him try your ice-cream flavour and for a second, Eunwoo had contemplated the age-old technique of kissing you to taste it instead.
Yet he held back each time, searching for a better moment.
“I guess I should take you home,” you mentioned once your ice-creams were finished, looking up at him with an unreadable expression. You then smiled when he laughed.
“I can’t believe you held to your end of the deal.”
“Well, I did ask you out on this date. Gender roles mean nothing in the modern age. A woman can pick a guy up and drop him off at his front door after an enjoyable time together.”
“You going to kiss me goodnight too then?” he wondered cheekily, only realising what he said a moment after.
Before he could apologise for the impromptu response, you were already slyly grinning up at him. “Maybe I should. Then one of us would have acted upon it.”
“You noticed?”
“How could I not?!” you exclaimed, shifting in closer. “You basically stared at my lips more than any other guy has before.”
Eunwoo rubbed his neck awkwardly. “Hah, I guess so.”
“It’s okay. I’ve been doing the same too. Wondering when I’d get to feel them against my own mouth.”
Eunwoo reached out to cup the side of your face, searching your eyes momentarily before leaning down towards you. He hesitated but not because he was nervous.
Watching as you fluttered your eyes shut when he was mere inches away from your face, Eunwoo’s heart started to thump noisily in his chest. He felt a surge of emotions wash over him as if he had already kissed you and had fallen trap to your enchanting ways. He witnessed the pursing of your lips, waiting for his own.
This moment.
This was more than he had ever experienced before in his life. He had dated girls when he was younger and even held a relationship for over a year during high school. But all of that paled to the way you willingly wanted him now.
It urged him to take your lips with his own, overwhelming all his senses. The kiss was soft, caressing right down to his soul. As he pulled you closer and deepened the embrace, Eunwoo knew he wouldn’t kiss anyone quite as well as he were you. Much as he tried to label the first moment, he searched through his mind for the reason why you made him feel like this now.
He couldn’t come up with any ideas that fitted perfectly, but your mouth sure felt as if it were made to be against his.
Finally, you stepped back, breath staggered and a hand upon your heaving chest. He watched you recover, his mind swirling with thoughts of you and his body was tingling from the experience.
“You’re beautiful,” he confessed and you eyed him again, a giddy smile crossing your swollen lips.
“And you’re mine now, right?”
Mine. Maybe that was the term Eunwoo was searching for. He nodded. “I’m yours.”

Guardian: Hand-Picked (collab)
Summary: You had lived for years with just you and your guardian angel, Changkyun. But when Kihyun enters your world, things change – for the better.
Pairing: Im Changkyun x Yoo Kihyun x reader (not in a love triangle way)
Genre: guardian angel au / humour / fluff
Warnings: none
A/N: This is part of the Guardian collab with @this-song-thats-only-for-you and @goodnightkisseu. It was an impromptu idea from one of those MX games by your zodiac sign, so we went with who we got and created a story from it!
Word count: 2651
Other stories in this collab: By My Side | Hidden Glances
Your life had been pleasant for the most part. You had grown up well enough, leaving your awkward teenage years behind you and blossoming into an adult. Sure, you sometimes missed the simplicity of being a child without adult pressures, but you were naturally responsible and thrived with a lot of the new chances you had as grown-up making your mark in the world.
You would go to work, enjoy hanging out with friends and exploring new places when you had the chance to. And when the day was over, you would return to your apartment, cook dinner and then snuggle up with a good movie or book before going to bed and starting it all over the next day. It hadn’t felt like you needed any change to this daily in and out lifestyle you lived. You were content with what you already had.
Meeting Yoo Kihyun, however, changed all of that. Having a boyfriend was a new experience. Going out was now with someone who would hold your hand and smile endlessly at you. He would feed you the most delicious meals and whisper the sweetest compliments. If you had ever dreamed of having someone in your life, you were sure you had wished for Kihyun. He was exactly who you could ever want in a partner.
And you had your guardian angel to thank for that.
“Don’t go out today,” Changkyun warned you explicitly as you walked back and forth from your small bathroom to your not much bigger bedroom preparing for the day ahead. He followed right behind you, tapping you on your shoulder and letting out whines, the next more outlandish than the last. “Y/N, don’t! It’s going to end badly.”
“What is? I’m perfectly fine now, am I not?”
He rolled his eyes. “Because you’re home with me.”
“I can’t imagine anything changing for the worse, Kyun. I’m just going to work like I usually do.”
“And I’m just telling you what I feel in my stomach. It’s my job to pre-warn you of ill-fated events, Y/N.”
You shot Changkyun a hard look. “Last month you told me the same. I stayed home and you realised halfway through the day it was just indigestion. Which, I cannot believe an angel can suffer from!”
“Okay, so I made one mistake--”
“And two months ago you told me I would be in trouble so I again stayed home and then realised it was because you were cold and wanted to snuggle up all day long!”
Sitting down on the edge of your bed so you could put on your socks, Changkyun knelt before you, placing his hands on both of your knees.
“--a lot of mistakes, then. This time, Y/N, I’m not using my abilities to benefit me. Stay home, please. I don’t feel good about this.”
Letting out a sigh, you patted one of his shoulders affectionately. “I’ll be fine. And I promise if I feel odd at any point, I’ll just turn around and come back home.”
“It doesn’t work that way, Y/N!” he exclaimed as you got up and brushed passed him, shrugging on your coat and stepping into your boots. Changkyun swiftly took place in front of the door shaking his head. “I’m being serious. Don’t go.”
“I didn’t work for an entire month on this presentation to miss it, Kyun. I’ll be home later.”
Stepping under his arm, you opened the door and started your trek through the rain to the subway.
From here, you knew fewer details. Changkyun had informed you that you had ended up walking across a road that a car had suddenly lost control on and careened around, hitting you right as a man pulled you to safety.
And that was how you had met Kihyun in the first place.
When you woke in the hospital, he had been at your side, immediately relieved to see you alert again. And all you had noticed was the gash on his cheek and a forlorn-looking Changkyun behind him.
He had sent Kihyun forward to save you at the last minute.
What Changkyun – or even you, admittedly – hadn’t been prepared for was how much of an impact Kihyun’s arrival in your life would make.
And now, you were packing up the last of your things and moving in with your boyfriend of a year.
Much to Changkyun’s disdain.
“How are we meant to still live together?” Changkyun wondered as you zipped your luggage bag full of your necessities shut. He shifted back and forth across the tiny space of your bedroom and threw his hands in the air. “This is not what we should be doing, Y/N.”
“You’ve seen Kihyun’s apartment, it’s double the size of this place. There will be plenty of room for us to still live together.”
“I’d rather live in this shoebox for the rest of your life. Or move somewhere bigger. Just the two of us.”
“On my salary?” you mentioned, raising an incredulous eyebrow at the angel. “Seriously?”
“So let’s just stay here. We’re cosy here.”
“I can’t expect Kihyun to move in here!” you replied with a giggle, lifting your luggage off the bed. “This place barely fits us!”
“Let’s not move in with him at all.”
“You sound like a petulant child, Changkyun,” you warned and he rolled his eyes dramatically.
“I don’t care. I like it being just you and me.”
“And I like Kihyun, a lot. So can’t you be a little accommodating with this change?”
His immature grunt ended the argument but the stormy mood followed you all the way over to your new home, a scoff leaving him when you stretched up to kiss Kihyun in greeting.
“Is this really happening?” your boyfriend breathed as he held you tightly. “I don’t have to wake up tomorrow and send you back home?”
“I wish you would,” the angel muttered, unbeknownst to Kihyun.
“Instead we get to wake up in each other’s arms every day,” you offered and Kihyun grinned, kissing you briefly before blinking really fast. You frowned. “What is it?”
“I turned up the thermostat earlier but it’s suddenly so cold in here! You’re not freezing, are you?”
Sending a glare to the angel now playing with the heating system, you then tried to smile at Kihyun. “It’s going to be fine together; I’m sure whatever it is will settle down soon.”

Except, Changkyun didn’t settle any.
It was obvious that he was bitter and targeted Kihyun immaturely. And whenever your boyfriend wasn’t around, you were endlessly scolding him for his antics, telling him to stop being so rude to someone you cared about. You didn’t think you were being unreasonable, and considering Changkyun had sent Kihyun to your side, you had expected him to be relieved that you had someone he had handpicked.
Still, Kihyun was uncomfortable most days. “I had the worst sleep last night.”
“Did you? I slept so well,” you murmured, coming over to rub your partner’s shoulders gently. “Any reason why?”
“Something kept tickling my nose but every time I looked, there was nothing there!”
You narrowed your gaze on the angel eating toast across the room.
And when Kihyun went to take his shower, you rushed over and slapped the back of his head. “I swear to god, you are being so immature, Changkyun! Stop annoying Kihyun.”
“Maybe he’d have a better night’s rest sleeping in the guest room.”
“And why would he want to sleep there? Where would you then sleep?!”
“With you, like I used to.”
“Don’t be so ridic-”
“Y/N?” Kihyun called weakly, standing in the threshold and watching you in confusion. “What, or who are you talking to?”
“Uhhhhh.”
“Maybe I should show myself to your lover. You look insane right now,” Changkyun mused and you let out a small shriek before stomping off to the bedroom and slamming the door shut.
Even if a locked door could keep Kihyun out, it would be no match for an angel. However, you had become incredibly skilled in ignoring Changkyun when he annoyed you too much. And since he hated when you ignored him, it was as effective as a locked door was.
“Y/N, stop, come on! It’s me, Kyun! Don’t be so petty!”
You remained focused on the wall ahead of you.
“Fine, I’ll stop being so mean to him. I just don’t like Kihyun!”
“Why?” you asked and he breathed out in relief at finally garnering your attention.
“Because he’s, well he’s-”
“Because you think I pay him more attention than you, isn’t that right? You’re not used to sharing.”
The angel shrunk back, muttering under his breath and then nodded once.
“Kihyun thinks I’m absolutely insane now. You better help me fix this.”
“You have a what?” your boyfriend breathed once you had explained everything to him, staring at you with round eyes.
“Everyone has one,” you told him calmly. “Just some people aren’t aware of who they are. I had an incident when I was a kid where I fell out of a tree and Changkyun – my angel – was there when I woke up. Since then, he’s been with me every day.”
“Even when we’ve been dating?”
You nodded.
“And in the bedroom when we’re…?”
“Good god, I would never want to see that,” Changkyun retorted with a generous shudder as you shook your head repeatedly.
“No, but I lived with him before I met you and-”
“You lived with him?”
“As friends,” you reiterated and Changkyun nodded firmly. “Well, more like family. He’s a brother to me.”
“And he’s the reason we met that day?” You nodded to answer Kihyun’s question. “I always think about why I boldly stepped out that day as if I knew I had to. I didn’t even know what I was doing until it happened. And you’re saying some angel of yours made me?”
“Changkyun, show yourself, please,” you asked and with a sigh, Changkyun did whatever he had to make himself known to Kihyun.
And when he caught sight of him, Kihyun gasped noisily. “I know him!”
“You do?”
“I saw him right when I saved you.”
“Well, now he’s a believer,” Changkyun surmised disinterestedly, pointing to the kitchen. “Can dinner be started soon? I’m hungry.”
You took a deep breath, hoping that this was the right step forward to make both the most important men in your life live together with more ease.

It wasn’t just Changkyun now. You stared back at Kihyun, trying to fathom what he had just said. Your boyfriend pointed harshly to the angel now taking refuge behind you. “Again?!”
“You forgot to set me a place at the table!”
“You do know how sensitive Changkyun is about food,” you agreed weakly and Kihyun scoffed.
“Still, he made the water run cold on me right as I got the shampoo in my hair! What are you? Four years old?”
“Try adding on centuries to that!”
“My head hurts,” you proclaimed, moving over to the couch before glaring at both men who followed. “Can’t you both just get along for one day?!”
“He started this!”
“And so that gives you enough reason to take it out on me like a baby?!”
“You’re both acting like children,” you told them and folded your arms across your chest. “This is exhausting.”
“He’s got to go, Y/N!”
“Me?!” Changkyun echoed and laughed bitterly. “I was here first, if anyone has to go, it’s you, lover boy!”
“Anyone would think you have a crush on my girlfriend! In case you’ve forgotten, Y/N sees you as a brother. And I’m not going anywhere!”
“You know what?” you offered, standing back up as both men reached for one another. “I’ll go!”
“What?”
“Where would you go?” Kihyun added as you stalked over to the front door, collecting your bag from the entryway shelf. “It’s cold out today.”
“I don’t think it’s wise to leave, Y/N.”
“Well, I don’t care what’s wise or cold. Right now, I want to escape the both of you! This is getting ridiculous and I want to get out of here before I snap! Do not follow me in any way or I’ll never come back!”
And then you slammed the door behind you and stormed out into the street.
For an hour or two, you simply wandered, allowing your sour mood to dissipate whilst you walked wherever your feet would take you. After three hours, you took refuge in a coffee shop, thanking the clerk for bringing you a warm beverage that melted away any remaining chill within you as you sipped at it. For another hour, you watched the people go by and after six hours away from home, you decided to have a meal before heading home. It was really late now, and for once, you felt a little out of your comfort zone. You were never out this late alone and it made your footsteps hurried until you saw the apartment building.
There, you slowed right down to a snail’s pace; concerning yourself with the possible scenarios you would find when you opened the front door. You knew Changkyun couldn’t be badly harmed, and angels were sworn not to physically harm another. Still, you worried they were still fighting away with each other, and you really didn’t have the energy to face that.
You prepared yourself to simply enter the house and sleep in the guest room alone tonight. Instead, when you walked through the door, you heard a loud gasp and combined movement towards you.
“Thank god, you’re safe.”
“Don’t ever leave us like that again, Y/N.”
“Don’t you know how worried we were?”
“We?” you repeated as both men smothered you in their arms, neither fighting for more of you than the other. “Who’s we?”
Kihyun pulled away and Changkyun stepped to his side. “We’ve called a truce.”
“We decided we had something in common.”
“You do?” you asked and both men nodded happily.
Changkyun smiled. “We both love you a lot. Of course, in our own ways.”
“And not having you in our lives – existences – is unbearable.”
“So don’t leave us ever again, okay?”
You tried to not smile too widely. “You mean it?”
“Plus, I like this house, and Kihyun’s food.”
“Changkyun’s like the little brother I never had,” Kihyun quipped.
“Well, does this mean I won’t hear fighting anymore?”
“Of course!”
“We’ll be on our best behaviour!”
“Good, because I can’t handle the best people in my life at odds with each other,” you concluded, hugging them both individually.
“You ate without us?” Changkyun suddenly accused after inhaling into the hug and Kihyun gaped at you.
“We were sick with worry and you ate?”
“Well, I got hungry and-”
“Don’t worry, Kyun, I’ll make us something delicious.”
“Good, and Y/N isn’t allowed any.”
“Of course not!”
You laughed and shook your head; at least they were getting along, which was what you had hoped for so long now.

Life wasn’t as quiet as it once was. You’d still come out to find both of them bickering over something, but you just learned that it was how they were. Equally, they were the type to hold onto one another watching sad movies instead of you and even you had jealous moments when it came to their bromance.
But you were thankful. Not only had Kihyun saved you, but he had saved Changkyun too. You had lived far too long stuck in the same routine in the same small space that you hadn’t hoped for anything more than that.
Having chaos in your world meant you were always waiting to see what would happen next. And you realised that this suited you far better. You got to spend your days with your best friend and the love of your life. Sometimes that would be a blessing or a curse, but you knew you wouldn’t have it any other way.

Guardian - mini collab 27/1 - 31/1
Ever wonder what it’s like to have your own guardian angel? With our three stories, you will get to see different concepts of what it’s like having someone watch over your life!
Monday: By My Side (Wonho) - @goodnightkisseu
Wednesday: Hidden Glances (Hyungwon) - @this-song-thats-only-for-you
Friday: Hand-Picked (Changkyun) - @prettywordsyouleft
Why did you only do three of the members of Monsta X?
This concept came from one of those twitter games based on your zodiac sign. We each went with who we got for our own specific starsign for this collab.

Tell Me More

Pairing: Mark Tuan x reader
Genre: fluff with a bit of angst
Warnings: none
A/N: Happy Easter everyone! I came up with this idea randomly one night before sleep. I really love bunnies and frogs so I felt like Easter was the best time to share this idea! I really hope you enjoy this.
Word count: 3686
This is part of a mini-collab, An Easter Collab To Dye For. From Good Friday until Easter Monday @this-song-thats-only-for-you and I will be sharing two stories each. Please check out tomorrow for the final story!
“Read us another story, Aunt Y/N!”
Looking around yourself, you smiled at the twins in bed beside you and then held up your empty hands. “There’s no more fairytales to read, guys. I think it’s time for bed.”
“Nooooo!” your nephew cried, and your niece shook her head adamantly. “There’s got to be another story you could tell us!”
“Yeah, can’t you tell us a story, Aunt Y/N?!” your niece chimed in with her brother and you stared at them both before letting a smile cross your lips.
“There’s one story I could tell you. But you mustn’t tell another soul about it, okay?”
Their little heads bobbed up and down energetically as you leaned in closer. “Once upon a time-”
“It’s a fairytale!” your niece shrieked, clapping her hand together. You gave her a warning look and she covered her mouth dramatically, a muffled sorry soon slipping through her chubby fingers.
“Once upon a time, there was a hard-working bunny. She wasn’t the best bunny in the fields. She wasn’t very pretty nor was she slim. But she definitely was productive. She was so good at collecting forage for her colony that she would work very hard day and night for the best produce.”
“She was a good bunny!” your nephew stated and you nodded your head at him.
“Of course, she was very kind and wanted to help all those around her live their best lives. But no one really thanked the bunny. She would work day in and out, and she would work long hours too. When the other bunnies were socialising, she would make lists of how to become more productive in her way of work.”
“She sounds a lot like you, Aunt Y/N.” You looked at your niece and merely smiled.
“Because this bunny liked to do things right, she wasn’t always aware of what the colony was doing. And so when the colony decided to move on without her one day when she was collecting the best carrots, they didn’t even think about her. When she returned home, there was no one left and all the food she had worked hard to collect was gone.”
Their little gasps filled the room and with eyes wide, the children leaned in, hoping for good news.
“Did the bunny cry?”
“Did she find her family again?”
“Oh no, the poor bunny was alone.”
You held up a hand and continued. “The bunny did cry. She didn’t understand why everyone had forgotten about her. She had worked so hard, and not even a thank you was ever said to her. She realised that she hadn’t been respected by the other bunnies. This was her fault too, she was so busy working that she didn’t stop to get to know the others. The bunny didn’t know what to do and for the first time in years, she stopped working. She just sat in the field, unsure of what to do next. She was clever, but the other bunnies were too far gone and she would never catch up to them even if she tried. And then one day, she met a frog.”
“A frog?!” they chorused and you nodded generously.
“He had seen how sad the bunny had been and wondered why. At first, the bunny didn’t want to tell him anything.”
“But why not?” your niece asked curiously.
You raised an index finger and smiled. “He was a stranger! She didn’t know whether she could even trust a frog. Over the next few days though, the frog came by the entrance to her burrow and left her a carrot. And that was really hard for him to do, considering he had slippery hands and a carrot wasn’t the easiest of things to pull from the ground. Yet the frog did so every day.”
“Was he a frog prince?” your nephew asked and your smile grew wider.
“To the bunny, he became her everything.” The kids swooned and rolled around in the bed giddily. You playfully took a hold of both the kids and then winked at them. “Do you want to know more about the bunny and the frog?”
“YES!”
“Well, you need to get in this bed and go to sleep. Tomorrow, whilst we bake some Easter cookies to surprise your parents with, I’ll tell you more of the story. Deal?”
“Deal!”
The children both plucked themselves out of your arms after kissing your cheek and laid down in the bed, closing their eyes immediately. You smiled as you wished them a good night and turned out the light as you shut over the door.
And across from the bedroom was your husband Mark, leaning against the wall with a smile playing on his lips. “Really? I’m a frog?”
“It suited the storyline,” you told him, running an affectionate hand across his stomach before walking back into your living area, slumping down on the sofa tiredly. You loved those twins dearly, and even though you felt ready for a child of your own, you sure weren’t prepared for having the two children around for an entire weekend.
“You got something wrong,” Mark told you as he sat down beside you and you instinctively moved towards him, nestling into his side as you tucked your legs up onto the sofa. “The bunny I know was always beautiful. That’s why the frog fell in love with her.”
“I’m squishy,” you pointed out and Mark even poked your belly gently.
“I like you that way. I’m too skinny.”
“I don’t mind that you are,” you replied and shared a smile with him before placing your head over his chest, closing your eyes.
“Don’t go to sleep just yet, I want to hear more of this story.”
“Can’t you wait until tomorrow?” you asked with a yawn and felt Mark prod you again. You sat up again. “Really?”
“I want to know what happens next.”
“You already know.” Mark shot you a dramatic pout and you groaned loudly. “You’re almost as bad as those kids in there with their charms. Fine, I’ll continue the story.”

You stopped in the doorway of your apartment, the exhaustion from studying and working all night long evaporating when you noticed how bare everything looked. The green sofa that normally sat right in front of you was missing, only the darkened patch of carpet and imprints of where the legs had pressed in remained behind to show furniture had sat there for some time. Your eyes slowly swept around the room, finding several other items all missing from their places. Your legs felt as if they would give way, yet they managed to carry you into your sister’s bedroom, finding it completely vacant.
“No,” you breathed, your mood now desperate as you took off around the rest of the apartment, soon screaming that same word over and over until you dropped to your knees in front of where the coffee table once resided.
You were all alone and had never seen this coming. Truthfully, you had been too transfixed on your work and studies that the signs of your sister and her boyfriend moving on without you had gone unnoticed, much like you had within their plans.
What was worse was they had taken a lot of your things with them. You had bought that television when she had protested that she was bored when she had been fired from yet another job. And you had purchased the sofa as well when you very first took on the place from the little old lady who was moving out. It had been in this apartment longer than both of you had and now it was gone.
You didn’t know what to do anymore.
For days, you slept, cried and barely ate. You had screamed when you found your hidden savings stolen, and you had raged into the voice message of a phone that you knew your sister would never answer again. She had always lived her life thinking of herself at the forefront, and of you as the second mother she relied on when she followed you from home to the big city. You had always been her security net and you knew it. But it hurt too much all the same. Couldn’t she have told you she was moving on? Let you know that the rent money she owed you would be paid in the very least before going? Asked if you wanted to come along too? You were used to looking after yourself, but you weren’t so capable of living alone. Soon, you missed the sounds of her laughter that used to go on all night long when you were trying to study. You longed for someone to share a meal with you. You even missed arguing with her over doing chores around the house.
It was too quiet.
By the start of the new week, you had managed to leave the house. You needed to get back to work, back to your studies, back to, well, life. It felt daunting to step out of your front door that first time, even more so when you were met with a new face.
He smiled cheerfully and lifted a hand at you. “Hi, I’m Mark your new neighbour. I was hoping I would bump into you soon.”
You merely stared at him before walking off again.
Yet Mark didn’t give up. Every time you bumped into each other, he would attempt to make conversation, even when you weren’t very forthcoming with your own. You could see he was struggling with being so vocal, the frequent awkward rubs to the back of his head sometimes made you wonder if he was creating a bald patch there. And yet, you were broken goods. You didn’t need a cheerful neighbour. You didn’t need to chat on a surface level with some stranger, who had no idea that you were barely struggling to function each day in and out. You were exhausted. Tired from living all these years supporting your rotten sister, and then her boyfriend, and now just yourself. You couldn’t lend precious energy to Mark your new neighbour.
When he started bringing your mail to your door, you had a bit of a problem with that, storming over the hallway and banging on his roughly. “Oh, hey Y/N, right? That is your name?”
“Please don’t touch my things.”
“Your mail?” he mentioned softly and rubbed his head for the umpteenth time in your company. “Well sure, but it was spilling onto the floor and I didn’t want you to miss anything important so-”
“I’m already struggling enough, I don’t need this,” you cut in, nodding curtly before returning back to your apartment quickly.
The next evening you returned home to find a small crock pot sitting against your door. You picked it up and read the note on top of it. “I made too much and didn’t want it to go to waste. Maybe this will help you a little. If not, I’ll not do it again.”
It smelt divine and you hadn’t eaten all day, your survival needs taking over from your usual standoffish ways with Mark, that you took the pot into your house and went to heat it up a little on the stovetop. When you sat down to eat, you smiled, he had been so kind to give you this. Taking your first bite though, you retreated away from the meal; aghast that something that smelt that good could taste that bad.
You laughed then. You laughed so hard that it even brought tears to your eyes. It was the first time you had found yourself experiencing a pleasant emotion in the past few weeks of being alone. And despite the awful taste, you managed to eat everything, washing the pot off completely and leaving it outside Mark’s door with a simple thank you note.
His meal warmed you up.

Because you ate the first meal, another was there for you a couple of days later. It was just as bad and yet it made you happy to eat Mark’s food. By the fourth time, however, you needed to let him know how bad it was despite your gratitude towards his efforts.
You knew now that this was his way of checking that you were okay.
He opened the door to his apartment and then stepped back, a little hesitant from when you had last knocked on his door. But still, he smiled. “Oh hey, Y/N.”
“Can I be honest?” you wondered, holding out the pot you had just freshly washed to bring back to him. He nodded and you smiled. “You’re a terrible cook.”
He blinked a few times and then grinned. “Well, I kind of only just learned how to cook.”
“When?” you asked and Mark rubbed his head again. You couldn’t help but reach over and stop him from doing so. He seemed surprised by your reaction, and you were as well, quickly retreating your hand away. “Sorry, it’s just… you do that so often and I am worried you’ll lose hair.”
“So you do worry about others,” he stated and chuckled. You frowned at his statement and he leaned in a little close to you. “I thought you hated people or something.”
“No, I was … just in a bad place,” you worded carefully, not wanting to unload your baggage on someone who had been so generous towards you so far. “I’m sorry if you ended up seeing a pretty negative side to me.”
“I mean, that side of you did help me out. I learned how to cook because of it.”
Your eyes widened. “You started to cook because of me?”
“I was kind of worried you weren’t eating with how low in energy you were, I know it’s not my place to even be concerned about you since we’re strangers and all but-”
“Thank you,” you managed to say, blinking back your emotions. “Your meals, as bitter or as spicy as they’ve been, made me feel human again. I’ve really appreciated it.”
Mark’s face lit up as if he had been given the ultimate compliment. And perhaps you had given him something special. He stepped aside and welcomed you inside off his doorstep. “Maybe you could teach me how to improve my meals? I have this cookbook that I found online but it’s not very clear on measurements.”
You followed him over to the laptop on his desk, trying not to be nosy and take in his belongings too much. Your gaze moved to a recipe he had up in a browser and Mark shifted aside so you could read it. You giggled when you realised what the problem was. “Mark, these standards aren’t the same as we use here in this country. Some places overseas have different metric units and ways of calculating measurements.”
“Oh man, so that’s why it didn’t always make sense.”
You smiled at him warmly. “Why don’t you come over tomorrow night? I’ll cook you something to say thank you.”
“Are you sure? I don’t want to impose on you or anything.”
“It’s the least I could do.”
Though when you returned to your apartment soon after wishing him a good night, you realised your home wasn’t visitor-ready. You hadn’t really cleaned up from since your sister left, and well, there were huge gaping holes from where your belongings ought to have been. You were thankful that the next day was your only day off this week, but even so, it wasn’t enough time to make the house look improved. You decided that you were grateful that your sister hadn’t seen any need for the table and chairs so you actually had one spot to entertain Mark in.
When he arrived, he didn’t say a thing about the emptiness of your apartment. Instead, he was eager to learn from you in the kitchen and you were both laughing and having a good time together making the food. Once served up at the table, you sat down across from him and chewed at your bottom lip lightly. “I hope it’s good.”
“It’ll be a hundred times better than what I created,” he replied and took a mouthful, moaning with appreciation. “A thousand times better.”
“You helped make this so don’t be so hard on yourself. With the right instructions, you’ll be just as good as I am in the kitchen.”
“Do you like cooking?” he asked after a couple more mouthfuls and you shook your head. “Really?”
“I just always had to do it. I guess you get good at something with repetition. My sister never knew how to cook or wanted to learn, so I would have to so I knew she ate properly at least once a day.”
Mark was silent for a moment and then glanced around your home. “Is your sister the reason things got hard?”
You hadn’t wanted to load your neighbour up with your problems. It was meant to be a thank you meal, after all. Yet you spilled the whole ordeal. You told Mark about how your parents had begged you to take in your baby sister, and you had grown accustomed to caring for her. You mentioned how you had worked and studied so much that you weren’t home enough to really know what your sister was doing. And then you informed him of what you had come home to that fateful day. Before you knew it, you had tears in your eyes and you wiped them away hastily. “Silly, isn’t it. I should have just gotten back up and carried on like I always do.”
Mark shook his head. “What were you working towards?”
“What do you mean?”
“This whole time you’ve been here, what was your goal?” he asked and you merely stared back at him, the answer not forming. He smiled sadly. “You were so busy living for everyone else, you lost sight of yourself.”
“Well I mean, I just had to.”
“No, you didn’t. You had goals at one point in life or else you wouldn’t have moved away from home, am I right?”
You nodded, vaguely remembering your excitement of finally moving to the city as a freshly graduated eighteen year old. Yet you failed to remember what your younger self was eager about back then. You certainly didn’t find joy in your current regime.
“You don’t need to have someone rely on you to be of worth, Y/N. You lost yourself because you fell into a routine of living for your sister.”
“I guess you’re right,” you murmured, the ache within your chest growing immeasurably. You started to mourn for the lost youth and years you had wasted living for making ends meet so you could keep your sister housed and fed. You hadn’t once given a thought to yourself during that time, apart from how to carry on to get to the point in life where things would get better.
You realised now that you were alone, you were finally at that point. Smiling over at Mark, he reached out for your hand and gave it a small squeeze. “Time to live for yourself and what you want, right?”
“Right.”

“So the frog helped the bunny realise she didn’t need to collect things for others every day. Though it was a pretty hard habit to change. But it was okay because she had the help of the frog when she got lost along the way. Slowly, she learned what she was really good at and soon she got a different job. She found activities to do during her free time, and she often invited the frog along with her.”
“Like on a date?!” your nephew asked and you smiled, nodding once. “Did the frog and the bunny fall in love?!”
“Of course they did,” Mark’s voice interrupted the story you were telling as you helped the children frost the cookies. You looked up at him and smiled warmly. “Though the frog had always loved the bunny. He knew she was very special from the first time he saw her.”
“Even though she looked like a mess from all her crying,” you added on and Mark shook his head.
“A beautiful mess.”
“That he helped make feel better. And so, the bunny who had always dreamed of one day marrying another bunny and living with all the other bunnies, working day in and out, fell in love with a frog instead. And they lived a different life. Both doing their own things some times and then doing everything else together,” you told the children and Mark leaned down to bop your niece on her nose playfully.
“And they got married and rumour has it that they’re living happily ever after right now.”
“But you never know what might happen in the future,” you warned lightly and your husband grinned, shrugging lightly.
“In the future, the bunny and frog will still be living happily ever after too. With their own little family that they made together.”
The children squealed with delight at the ending of the story and you tried to blink away your tears. Mark brushed his lips against the side of your head before lowering his mouth to your ear. “I love you, my bunny.”
The knock at the door interrupted anything further about the story and Mark went to let Jackson inside. The twins ran to hug their father. “My babies! Did you have a good time staying with Uncle Mark and Aunt Y/N?”
“We did! We just baked cookies!”
“In the shapes of frogs and bunnies!” your niece pointed out and you shared another smile with your husband. “Can we stay again soon?!”
“Yeah, we want to hear more of Aunt Y/N’s stories!”
“I don’t know if I have many stories left,” you chuckled and hugged the children tenderly. “You took the best one out of me! But maybe Uncle Mark will tell you his own story.”
Mark grinned and ushered the twins close. “I happen to know this pretty awesome frog who might have something to tell you all about next time.”

Highlights of 2020
Finally finishing my You x Idol drabble game.
Writing some series ideas that I really thought were going to be hard (Forsaken, To Be Continued, 10 Dates) and being satisfied with how they turned out
Doing some groups series, like Band Sessions and MonX Hospital, and creating an entire world.
Collaborations with my writer friends. I honestly love writing with my friends!
Writing Sungjin as a cop in To Be Continued. He wasn’t even in the original draft notes for the series but became someone so deeply important to the storyline! I feel like each year, Sungjin’s characters keep coming out on top (last year, it was his story Existence in the Spiritual Connection world that came for my soul)
Destined hitting 2k notes and still being the most popular story and series on my blog.

Things I wish had gone differently / things I wasn’t happy about
The gaps in my writing schedule - whilst I needed to take those moments, looking back now, I wish I could have remained more consistent.
The lack of variety - in some areas, I did improve but looking back on everything, it was pretty obvious I stuck to like three groups for most of the year. Of course, this isn’t entirely bad as I discovered deeper connections with some of these characters, but it did mean I didn’t get as much variety as I hoped to.
The endless hate for Forsaken and Bloodstone - two stories that I was really excited to share. I know I need to let it go, but I really don’t get the big fuss around it all.
Personal pressure - I was so busy trying to improve as a writer over and over that at times I forgot to enjoy the journey as I travelled along it.
Frightful October - that whole thing was so unfortunate and it still breaks me to think of all the discarded plans @this-song-thats-only-for-you and I had, only to not give the segment it’s final hurrah as we hoped to. This was the last year we wanted to do it as we were going to try something new for 2021, so it’s really bittersweet knowing how much of a fail October was.

2021 Goals
To complete at least ten series
To either write the ideas that have been sitting in my ideas file for sometime, or to let them go... holding onto them for a rainy day so to speak isn’t going to work
Always aiming for variety but also accepting that there are some groups I just naturally have an affinity towards and that’s okay
To try and write more details into my worlds. This way, I’ll be adding more depth and word count - which isn’t a bad thing to be practicing if I wish to attempt writing longer pieces for eventual novel preparation
To collab with some other people than I usually do. I’m not very brave at approaching others but I want to give it a try! (please if you want to collab with me, feel free to message me haha)
I dunno why but it makes most sense to me to put Mayday6 in May, so it’s kind of a goal to make that happen then lol
Figure if I’m going to open another prompt list up for requests or offer sporadic requests - either way, bring in some fresh ideas from my followers at some point
To be uncaring about genres I choose. If I want to write four royal au stories in a row, then so be it (I have a lot of royal and regency au ideas, someone please make me stop dreaming about being a princess or wearing pretty dresses lmfao)
Whilst scheduling to me is important, not pressuring myself to stick to the same format of writing each week/month. I’m not burned out, but I am bored of the same thing time and time again.
Admittedly, this one is one I can’t not ask of myself - make a pile of writing so I’m ahead again. I like the feeling of having stories to fall back on.. but also allowing newer stories to jump the queue if I’m most excited for them.

Phew! What a year I’ve had! There’s been some amazing moments not captured in this list, and amazing people who I’m forever grateful for. Thank you for supporting me!
May 2021 bring some really awesome personal writer growth and fun for this writing blog!!

Requests Schedule & Fiction Info:
This is the final week of drabble requests - without counting the two remaining series I have to write with prompts I’ve saved! I’m a little sentimental, but what a good week to end this 200+ prompts game on! There’s a lot of supernatural, mixed in with some really cute and fluffy stuff! I hope there’s something for everyone in this upcoming week.
As you’ve just read, I’m now finished with my drabbles! And currently not accepting requests for the time being. So what can you expect in the future on PWYL since that drabble game has been going since the start of my time here?
Well, a lot more series and personal ideas I’ve been storing up for this time especially! Also, I’m going to be partaking in collabs with my fellow writing friends as I usually do! Challenging Words will also remain a staple every fortnight! I hope, despite the absence of requests, I can still put out content with enough variety that gives you reason to stay and enjoy my stories!
There will be some changes to how I structure my weeks from here out, but I will need an adjusting period before I can figure out what I’m truly doing. The drabbles meant I had something consistent to always fall back onto and with them gone, well, it’ll be interesting to say the very least! Still, I’m positive the quality I strive for my blog will remain the same!
