An: I’m convinced no one has ever watched this movie. Also this series of fics are titled as songs so it’s Double Tragedy by Hailey Knox
It was close to midnight when you heard loud banging thru your front door. You were under the sheets, watching videos on your phone when you heard them, starting to get scared. So you grabbed the trusted pvc pipe and walked downstairs, making sure you take down any crazies this late at night. Then you realized you had the Ring app, so you can see who lurks on your doorstep at this unwanted time. Crazy to see that it was Jessica, having her baggy sweats on with her boyfriend’s coat, holding my bag of sweets. Turns out this night of going to bed early to be productive turned into sleeping thru the afternoon.
Already opening the door she had a big smile, being happy that you’re still awake. Not that it wouldn’t matter, if you were asleep she would’ve called you over and over until you picked up. “Let me guess, another nightmare?”, You ask before she even has to explain herself. She nods, immediately letting herself in and setting all the snacks on the table. Afterwards hugging you, showing all the stuff she bought from home to bring here.
“I bought my collections of DVDs so I thought we can be old school and have a movie marathon.”, Jessica says, showing the counts of Disney movies that amazed you. The whole trio of all the High School Musical movies, yea you definitely weren’t sleeping tonight. Most weekends would be like this, Jessica coming over late at night after a brutal nightmare. She couldn’t be bothered going back to sleep in her boyfriend’s house. The attack at Rightmart mixed with conflicts that happened a year later gave her the biggest fear of sleeping alone. No matter if it was her boyfriend, parents, her group of friends she would still have nightmares. Yet one night over at your place and she had the best sleep of her life. You were fine letting her crash on your couch, especially because she made breakfast the night after. Yet you knew that your feelings for Jessica were developing, which wasn’t right because she was dating Ryan.
“Damn you have so many, I don’t know which movie to start first.”, You say, being indecisive. That’s until she pulls her favorite movie out, Starstruck. You both agree that’s the movie you two should start out with. Jessica gets the popcorn ready, you bring all the blankets and we start our movie fest. Cuddling into the blankets she got close to you, her arm locking around yours. Her head leaning to your shoulder with a smile you adored so much. In your eyes she was so perfect, you wish you had a big sign that said kiss me whenever you saw her. Becoming too focused on her face you noticed a notification on her phone, probably her boyfriend Ryan wondering about her disappearance.
“You better answer that before he gets jealous.”, You say, teasing her. She pokes you, getting you back for what you just said. It was her habit, whenever you bought him up in a conversation she tickles you.
“HEHEHEY don’t hate me, I’m just telling you to answer it.”, You say but Jessica isn’t listening. She rather watch the movie than deal with him. You thought to let it be, handle it in the morning. Until you saw her phone, Ryan was now calling her. By then you quickly, at the speed of light grab her phone from the other side of the couch to answer him. You definitely didn’t condone messy behavior, only for this one time. Before ever pressing the button to answer the call she tickles your sides. Not only that but pinning you, having your back face her while also tickling your sides. Worst kind of position to be tickled in when your ler is looking for revenge.
“PLSHHAHAHHAHIMSORRRRRRY!”, You yell out, laughing. There was no point in apologies, Jessica needed her phone back.
“Give me back my phone!”, She says, having fun tickling you. After her tickling moved upwards towards your ribs she did get her phone back. But you were busy, your eyes closed from laughing into the pillow to notice she took it back. Despite getting what she needed she resumed back to tickling you. Only because she wanted to get you back for all those constant taunting and teasing. Jessica went wild, going back to your sides, to your lower back, poking everywhere to find what spot drove you crazy. It was indeed your back, her poking and tracing your finger down your spine made you squeal. You tried to free your arms and stop the madness behind you. In a failed attempt she cuffs your wrists, tickling your side with the remaining arm.
“STOPPPPHAHHAHAHHAH!”, If you two weren’t watching movies or dramatic reality shows you two were most definitely engaging in a tickle fight. In which she would always be winning. You would sometimes win, if you caught Jessica off guard. Then she would persuade you for another round, where you lose terribly.
After a few sorrys and muffled laughter she stopped, thinking that whole ordeal can stop your bratty tendencies. You didn’t know why, but you wanted that again. You still felt the adrenaline rush in you, or maybe feeling energetic despite the lack of sleep you’ve had these past few nights. Both trying to get at a calm state Jessica looks at you, seeing a big grin on your face. Not that you were gushing that it’s the first she’s tickled you this hard since you two met.
“What?”
“Kinda wanna go again.”, You say, wanting her to tickle you. Jessica was up for another round, knowing she had many tricks to make you lose. You thought you had all the energy in the world to get her to lose.
“Me too. I’ll let you have a ten second start. Use it wisely.”, She says, advising you to be smart. You thought of just pouncing on top of her, her wrists on top of her head. For you that was the best thing you can come up with, not really the smart for pinning Jessica. You were confident in your decision, waiting to tickle her even though it’s been past ten seconds. But Jessica’s eyes weren’t spewing out fear like you would if you were in this same position. It made you confused, quite scared.
“You sure you wanna do that?”, She asks, in a teasing tone to make you nervous. You were second guessing yourself even though you were the one on top of her. By the time you tried to assume what was wrong she already tickled you out of your position. It was her neck tickles that had you out, managing to get the effort to get back on top. Suddenly she went crazy, going on your neck back to your stomach. You were laughing hard, realizing your stomach will forever be the worst. Worser than your lower back.
“YOURSOAHAHAHAHAHAUAH!!,” You say while laughing. Jessica tries to finish your sentence, it wasn’t exactly right but she got the spirit.
“Good? Why thank you, I appreciate the compliment.”, Jessica says, tickling the shit out of you. You were too high of laughter to form the correct sentence. She was laughing with you, not even bothered by the movie. Tickling you was the highlight of her month. The fear of the nightmares coming back to haunt her didn’t worry her. Your smile and high pitched laughter was the light from all her darkness. Suddenly she was starting to have the same issues of catching feelings.
“I NEED A BRESKINEEDABREAK!!”, You shout out, and immediately Jessica stops tickling you. Jessica was concerned if she pushed you too hard. It didn’t bother you, if you had much more stamina you would’ve wished to be tickled until sunrise.
For a short moment you two stare at each other, feeling the warmth in each other’s eyes. However you didn’t think Jessica felt the same way, so you thought her admiring you meant you look bad. “What? Am I really sweaty?”, You ask, feeling the tension between you two. What you two had wasn’t awkward tension, it was romantic. The only way to break the tension is with a kiss. Jessica went in first, her lips sealed to yours as your hands reached your waist. It felt like a dream, kissing your crush at one of your annual sleepovers with her. Her kiss felt like Spring, refreshing, new, a first kiss that you would remember.
All you two wanted was to kiss each other. You two hope that by morning those feelings don’t change.
