Author’s Note: Happy halloween guys! I know I literally fell off the face of the earth and I will make another post to address that. But I know I haven’t participated for @pandoraslxna ‘s kinktober event (I’m so sorry bby) but if I could only participate for one of the days it would be today for sure. So I definitely wanted to get this out before midnight. It’s not purely a/b/o but honestly entails all the aspects of it. I think we can all definitely tell who’s the alpha and omega here (Ralak is alpha material hands down, ofc). I hope you guys enjoy this one, and I apologize for such a wait <3 Also I feel like I’m a bit rusty, so apologies for any typos, errors, or just plain suckish writing.
ALSO a big happy birthday to my babe @neteyamsoare <3 love you and hope it was a good one!!
Synopsis: Your heat starts to subside, but Ralak’s rut is only getting stronger. What could possibly go wrong?

——
Only an hour has passed before you feel your not-so-gentle giant stirring behind you, waking you from your sleep. You’d both been on your sides for too long now and everywhere seems to ache. You whine when you feel his hips shift against you, tugging at the immense pressure between your hips. The bulge protruding from your lower abdomen has barely gone down and you feel almost as full as you did when he initially emptied his load inside you.
Silken strands of his hair fall onto your prickled skin as he props himself up on his elbow from behind you, perching his chin on your throbbing shoulder. He inhales deeply – longingly. His hot breath gently blows against your neck just as you feel his arm snake under your leg and yank it back in one rough tug.
“Ralak.” His name falls from your lips through a nearly inaudible croak. “‘m so full.” You barely mumble out, rolling your head to the side. Yet, the flame within you is without a doubt reigniting with a vengeance.
And he can sense it.
Simply by the way you push back into him, making that bulge in your belly protrude a little more. His large hand resting on your stomach can indubitably feel it. And the smile that it puts on his face is almost baleful, bearing his lengthy canines that yearn to sink deep into you once more. “Sorry, tìyawn [love].”
He just can’t help it.
No matter how hard he tried. The desire—no, the need—to fuck into you and claim you as his time and time again is… irrepressible. In this moment, nothing else felt better than your little, used cunt hugging his cock so tightly that it almost hurts. He yearns to fill you over and over. Again and again until your womb is overflowing with his seed. The mere thought has his balls pulling tight to his body, firming up by the second all just to flood your womb again.
“Muntxate [wife].” Ralak growls into your neck, sliding his hand down to your inner thigh. “I will try to be–” He groans slowly, his pointer finger now burrowing itself between your tied pelvises, “–flrr [gentle].”
The final accented word comes out roughly, and if it weren’t for his finger slipping past his knot and into your cunt, you would’ve probably heard it clearly. You yelp out when he traces his finger around his knot, stretching your already taut skin, attempting to work a little space to allow his bulge to slip out.
It's all consuming and you’re simply too overwhelmed with his size that you fail to realise how your body is synced with his and bearing down to push him out. All whilst he’s struggling to fight the snap of hips to avoid hurting you. But the tugging is nothing like you’ve felt before adn you can finally understand why he was so insistent in the first place.
ut there was no getting out of this now, not that you even wanted to.
“It–it’s…” You brace yourself by grabbing onto his forearm, “...t-too big.”
“Ngaytxoa [sorry]” He huffs out his fourth apology, losing himself once again as his hips finally jerk back out of his control.
Pop.
His knot slips out of you with such force that the squelch it makes is as loud as your whimper. It’s so wet and slippery that his cock follows behind his knot, sliding out of you effortlessly. He’s more than half-hard yet so heavy and hung it rests close to your knee. Then you feel it. His cum dribbling down your thigh, still warm and sticky as if he just filled you up seconds ago.
It’s such a conflicting feeling — a mixture of relief and pent up frustration. Your heat is still in full bloom, despite it being so quenched until you’re almost nauseated. It’s as if you were two pieces perfectly linked together, allowing nature to run its course with no second thought. He grunts when he feels the crisp night air against his groin, his cock now springing up to its full length in just a few seconds.
He, too, feels some sort of feverish way now. Itching to be back inside your warmth, enveloped by your gummy, slimy walls. He opts to pepper wet kisses along your neck, and then up to your jaw, lingering there as he tries to distract himself from the ache to shove it back inside you.
Until it becomes too much.
“Tanhì.” He moans into your ear, heavy lidded eyes struggling to stay open as his tongue trails the skin on the back of your neck. “Need you.” It’s his way of begging for permission. Permission to slam his cock back inside you and hammer into you until the annoying itch deep in his core goes away again. You were the only one to make it go away. To stop the hurt. “Please.” He whines out a plea of desperation, now gritting his teeth from the way his stomach is tensing. “Now.”
But that last plea wasn’t much of a question, no. It was more of a demand. A way of saying, ‘give it to me, or I’ll take you on my own terms’.
“Fuck.” You mumble under your breath, sliding your free hand down your side to hook it under your leg. You pull it back and reposition your hips to give him access to your cunt. “P-Put it in, ‘Lak.”
Ralak’s hips begin to stutter — the leaking, mushroomy tip of his cock now repeatedly prodding between your puffed up folds. His breath turns raggedy as he tries to guide himself back inside you handsfree. Your slick is overflowing, making it even more difficult for him to align himself with your entrance. The frustration brewing within him bubbles over when his cockhead glides past your swollen clit instead of sinking in your cunt. So he pulls back in one swift move and —
Thrust.
Your body jolts from how quickly he slams every inch of his cock inside you, forcing you split-open. Ralak huffs a shaky sigh of relief, his breathing growing a little steadier now that he’s deep inside his mate. Meanwhile, your mouth hangs agape yet no sound falls from your lips. Your eyes well up with tears and your ears lay flat against your skull. Your body is in complete submission to the beast dominating it and there’s nothing else you can do but give in to the pleasure.
“Your scent.” He whispers open-mouthed, tips of his canines grazing the nape of your neck. “It is driving me crazy.” You release the breath that you didn’t even realise you were holding. You didn’t even know what to say. Not like you could really say much right now anyways. You’re too lost in the fog of your own heat. For once, Ralak is doing most of the talking. “It makes me…” He snaps his hips back, only leaving half of his length inside you. “...lose myself completely.”
A deep roll of his hips.
A lewd moan dripping off your lips.
“How do you do that?” He huffs, pressing his teeth against your neck. You don’t answer yet again. You just can’t find the words. Not right now. Not when he’s so deep inside you. “Hm?” A deep growl vibrates up his throat, his teeth just barely piercing the first layer of your silken skin.
“I—” You’re cut off by your own squeal when you feel the sting of his bite. Your breath catches in your throat and he immediately unlatches, lapping at the nicked skin to soothe it. “Sorry.” He whispers breathlessly, planting a quick kiss on each of your marks. “Sorry. Sorry.” A few more apologies flow from his mouth, as if he were drunk off of too much fermented fruit. Somewhat lucid but still so spaced. “I cannot —ngh— help myself.”
Thrust.
“‘M sorry.”
He knows he went a little too deep just now. But you feel so fucking good around his cock.
Chomp.
Another mark. Right on the bend of your shoulder, next to your first.
“Ngaytxoa [I’m sorry]”
A small cry from your quivering lips.
“S-Stop. No more apologies. I am yours to do what you p-please with.” You finally get out in one, weary breath.
Ralak’s languid, deep thrusts are laced with desperation. And with each stroke they become harsher and harsher. Faster and faster. Now he’s got your full permission he lets go once more, falling into the thick fog of his rut.
Within seconds his cock is pumping in and out of you, his half-deflated knot continuously prodding and poking at your entrance. The tip of his cock drags against your walls, putting an immense pressure right on your sweet spot. Yet still, sounds barely fall from your flushed lips. You’re too out of it. Too focused on the raw sensations rippling through you all at once. His overwhelming pheromones. His marking. His relentless pounding.
Rather, hot tears well over your eyes and stream down your face.
He can’t stop slamming himself inside you. He doesn’t want it to stop. It’s absolute rapture and he’s unapologetically drowning in it.
“Tanhì. Tanhì.” He groans needily. “y/n.”
He only says your name when he’s serious about something.
And hearing it drip from his tongue onto the nape of your neck has your hairs standing high and your clit throbbing.
“Eywa. Yes, ‘lak? T-Tell me what you need.” You blubber out, tightening your grip on his forearm.
“Haa — spread yourself.” He demands, prompting you to tuck your leg back as far as you can. His pace quickens, hips striking you with a sinful vengeance. But no matter how hard he fucks you, or how deep he buries himself inside you — its just not enough. He needs to be closer. To be deeper. To really be inside you. To knot you.
“More.” He grunts, slowing his thrusts into rocking, grinding himself inside your slippery, tight cunt.
You go to tug at your leg and meet nothing but resistance. “I-I’m trying.” You can feel it now. Perhaps it’s the bond or maybe it’s the way his knot is working you open but he’s growing more and more frustrated by the thrust.
“Mmmh. Wider.”
“I can’t. I can’t.” You’re quick to answer, feeling nothing but pressure from the way he’s trying to shove more of himself inside you.
“Agh.” He growls in frustration, pulling out of you and grabbing you by the ankle to flip you onto your back.
Ralak situates himself between your legs without hesitation and pushes them so far back your knees graze against the tips of your ears. You can barely breathe in this position and are having a hard time seeing anything else but his raging cock at your entrance. You can feel the burn in your thighs from how far back he’s shoving your knees but that sting is masked by the pleasure of him plunging himself back into your pussy.
The moan that rips from your lips is obscene and like no other. The crown of his cock is drilling itself directly into your sweet spot, causing it to swell with unadulterated pleasure. And each time he pulls out just to sink it back inside you he winds you in the process – making you sputter out absolute nonsense. Even he knows you're close, despite being in the thick of his rut.
But frankly, he doesn't care.
All he’s concerned about is satisfying his own urges.
“Not enough.” He grits through his teeth as his eyes shift to an even deeper shade of mauve. “‘ts not enough.” He pants, voice laced with something of worry. Panic that this feeling won’t go away. It makes you panic too, wondering if you’re doing enough for him. If he’s going to take even more from you. If you can manage it.
“You’re okay. Do what you need.” You try to reassure him, grasping your feet and holding them back–opening yourself up even more. But fuck, that only made things worst for you.
And by worst, you mean better. It feels like you’ll burst any second now, especially with how much pressure is on your bladder. “Fu-ck me. God, fuck–ahaa-fuck me.”
His brows bunch together as he peers down at you, beads of sweat rolling off his face to drip onto your chest. His jaw is so tense it looks as if it may fracture. He’s grunting with every push and huffing with every pull.
“Right there! Fuck. I’m close. I’m so fucking close. I-I need you to cum i-inside me. Oh—please ‘lak. Please!” Your cries are choked and muffled, breaths short and raggedy. The heat pooling in your core is unbearable. It needs out. Now.
Ralak swallows. Hard. Through his own haze he can see that you’re in need too. He shuffles closer to you, tucking his feet under him to assume a squatting position. Now he’s all but on top of you, folding you into a merciless mating press. This one shift in position has you coming undone on his cock, coating it in your thick slick as you sob from the white hot pleasure. The force of your climax has you pushing him out and only has him drilling himself further inside you. If it’s not for the way your pussy walls tighten around him surely his knot would have popped inside you by now.
He’s still fucking into you, right through your orgasm and towards his.
“Say what you need.” He panics through a tightened jaw, grinding himself inside you – pushing his knot against the resistance.
You know what he’s actually asking from you. To say something. Anything to tip him over the edge. To rid him of this maddening itch.
“Breed me.” You whisper, locking eyes with him. You watch as his pupils blow into thin rings and then constrict into nothing but dots. You try to swallow what spit you could, attempting to clear your throat. “Breed me. Please.”
“Then take it.” He lets loose a sinister growl, putting all his weight into his final push. For the first time, you feel his knot pop inside you, veiny and as thick as can be. You let out a high-pitched whimper, and feel your teeth begin to chatter. That doesn’t make him ease up, though. He continues to grind himself inside you until you feel the familiar, warm sensation of his sticky seed spraying inside you – filling your womb to the brim. His cock throbs wildly, in perfect synchrony with his own heartbeat, and soon yours too as the bond equilibrates your souls once more.
Strangely, you thought you’d be sore and overstimulated by now, but your body has never felt better. You’re full and content and more than satiated. Ralak heaves a sigh — one of pure relief. It’s glued to his face. All panic washes away and he’s feeling more at peace the longer he remains inside you. He’s rigid, firmly holding his position on top of you — ensuring he empties every single drop inside you. Yet, his heavy lidded eyes begin to close.
“I can’t breathe.” You mumble, snapping him out of his tranquil trance. His eyes meet yours and the corner of his mouth pulls into a little smirk. He exhales a breathy chuckle and carefully manoeuvres you both into a more comfortable position. He settles himself on his back and supports your body whilst positioning you on top of him.
“Better?” Ralak husks, drawing circles into your back with the tip of his finger.
You take a deep breath, filling your lungs to full capacity and then slowly release it. “Much.”
“Nga yawne lu oer [I love you]” His accented words slur together as he dozes off.
“Nga yawne lu oer, Ralak [I love you].”
——
Ralak woke repeatedly throughout the night for his fill. If it wasn’t him, it was you. Waking up in a clammy state, shaking and nuzzling into his chest from your heat. You honestly thought that the more time passed — the more rounds you went — the more he would calm down.
But, you thought wrong.
He’d start by leaving tender kisses wherever he could, whispering he’d do his best to be as gentle as he can be. Then, he’d slip a finger inside you, stretching you out in attempts to pull his knot out without hurting you. But it would always sting, even just a little bit. After that he’d beg. Pleading with you to let him back in, and apologize right after plunging inside you regardless of your answer—which was always yes.
At this point your own foggy haze would take over. Perhaps it was your body’s way of coping with the overstimulation, but you pined for every single second of it. Sometimes it would last for a few minutes. Where he’d be quick to fold you in two and growl in the shell of your ear, ‘you’re mine, haah — fuck, take me’.
Sometimes it was closer to an hour. Where you’d both be so tired you’d take breaks, lazily taking turns fucking each other, telling him to ‘put it back in’ whenever he’d slip out. But one thing remained the same every time. You’d sob when you’d cum and then beg him to breed you. And he would, without a doubt, breed you.
Mercilessly.
And with each breeding, he’d lose himself a little deeper. Knotting you over and over. Marking you repeatedly until your body’s littered with bites. Until you were so fucked out you’d lost the feeling in your legs. Until your throat was so dry you could barely speak. Until you needed a break.
——
“Wait.” You crawl towards the bedside table with wobbly knees. “Just need some water, Lak.”
Ralak pounces on you, knocking you onto your stomach and pressing himself against you. You extend an arm out, fingers splayed out and shaking from you trying to reach the cup of water Ka’ani left there more than a day ago. Ralak grabs your hips and hoists you up onto your knees and elbows, and mounts you from behind.
“Water. Water, Lak.” You beg with a hoarse cry, only for him to line the crown of his cock up with your sopping cunt. He growls next to your ear as he stretches over you and reaches for the cup of water, filling his cheeks and putting it back down within a couple seconds. With a quick grip of your jaw, he turns your head and meets his lips with yours.
Before you can process what’s going on you’re gulping down water as fast as you can. And when he pulls away, you’re yet again met with the hazy eyes of his rut. That’s when it dawns on you that whilst your heat is coming to an end, his rut is only getting stronger.
Rather than looking away, he locks his gaze onto you, just so he can watch your face screw as he slams his cock inside of you in one, hard thrust. It works a sudden, breathy moan from your mouth, eyebrows pinching together from the stretch. He holds his position, basking in the warmth and tightness of your cunt as his breath goes shaky.
“Wait.” You mumble weakly, shoving a hand behind you to push against his lower stomach. “Please.”
For the first time, you were telling him to stop.
His jawbone flutters as his eyes search yours. Restraint plasters to his face, and the only audible thing is his heavy breathing. He nods. Just once. A firm and intentional nod. He swallows the residual water left in his mouth and tenderly pulls out of you. You hear the thud of his footsteps quiet down as he nears the marui door, and then the splash of the water when he dives into the rough sea.
It’s pouring outside.
Storming, actually. Thundering and lightning. Yet he feels this is the only way he’d be able to resist the urge to storm back in and fuck you. But the instinct to protect his mate, even if it’s from himself, is more than enough to give him the willpower to walk away.
You take this moment to just breathe, turning your head to face the plush bed beneath you as you gather your thoughts. Did he just show that much restraint? Enough to walk away from a female na’vi during her heat cycle… all whilst in the height of his own rut cycle?
“Lekye’ung [insane]” You mutter, using your trembling hand to grab and bring the cup to your lips. They, too, are sore and chapped. Having gone so many hours without any food or water, you knock it back, shaking the cup to get out every drop. Finished already? You think to yourself, looking inside the cup with hazed vision, confirming it’s indeed empty.
After setting it back down onto the table, you slump back into the bedhead, relaxing your body. You’re sore. Actually, sore is an understatement. Every single muscle and fiber in your body burns—and that isn’t entirely due to your heat either now that it’s finally subsiding. Perhaps you should be taking this time to have a look at your… condition, but you’re finding it harder and harder to keep your eyes open.
So you give in, sinking further and further into the bed as you doze off.
A few hours go by and Ralak returns with a net of fish thrown over his shoulder and a bucket of fresh water perched on his hip. He carefully sets down the bucket and rests the net next to the fire pit. He’s cautious not to wake you, nor come too close to you. Ralak ignites the fire and fans the flame. As quietly as possible, he prepares and cooks the fish, setting them aside to wrap in the leaves of a spartan tree.
Since coming to Awa’atltu, one of your biggest adjustments—despite the obvious—has been your change in diet. Fish weren’t uncommon back home, but they certainly weren’t the main source of food. You prefer the other foods here, your favourite being what you call ‘inland boar’, which is an animal that resembles what your father calls a ‘pig’ from his star.
But not even that, (boar) could smell better than this (fish).
The aroma alone rouses you from your sleep.
Your eyes open to a dark room and a glowing fire pit. The fire is out but the wood remains hot, shifting among different shades of orange and red. Ralak sits beside it, with his back leaning against the support beam of the pod. His arms are crossed over his chest and his knees are slightly bent. It’s hard to see more than just his silhouette with the lack of moonlight.
“That smells good.” You rasp. Ralak’s eyes fly open to reveal a familiar shade of deep blue. Like the sea. They glow and flicker before you, examining you now that you’re sitting up out of bed.
Crack.
A bolt of lightning strikes in the distance, illuminating the room. For a moment, you were able to see every single bike mark, scratch and bruise you’ve given him. It also reveals that he’s shaking. Trembling from being wet and cold, or possibly from the strain he was putting himself through from just being in the same room as you.
Ralak moves quickly, shuffling to his feet and going right for the leaf that holds a few sloppily rolled fish. He brings it to you, setting it slowly on your lap, being overly cautious not to touch you. Grabbing your cup on the table, he dunks it in the bucket and sets it beside you.
“Eat.” He whispers, backing away to sit next to the pit. You watch as he slides down the beam and into a sitting position, and then glance down at your food. Saliva pools in your mouth from the aroma wafting up your nose.
You’re hungry.
“Thank you.” You say quietly, hastily stuffing an entire roll into your mouth.
You moan as you chew, nodding your head from how good it tastes. It’s hard to swallow, given that you bit off more than you could chew—literally—but when it finally goesdown you feel your stomach grumble for more. Ralak watches you intently. A wince screwing his face with every swallow he witnesses. And when you finish, you chug down your water and wipe your mouth with the back of your hand.
Another crack of lightning strikes, and then a low, lengthy rumble of thunder follows.
“That was… one of the best you’ve made, lak.” You say with a wobbly smile, slowly getting on your feet to wash your hands. The bucket is nearby your mate, who is still fixed in position. Although he remains unmoving, his eyes follow your every move. You shake your hands to dry them and shuffle over to Ralak and sit next to him.
“so… how do you feel?” You ask quietly, raising your hand to check if he’s feverish. He turns his head before your hand can make contact with his skin and his gaze locks onto the charred wood in the fire pit.
“Fine.” Ralak mutters.
Eyebrows pinching in confusion, you tilt your head to try and look him in the eye. Your brows relax when you come to the realisation that he’s already taken care of himself. And only Eywa knows how many times.
“You know, you didn’t have to do that. I would have—”
“Ma’ muntxate [my wife]”He croaks, swiftly turning his head to look directly into your eyes. “Oeru txoa livu [please forgive me].”
“Txoa? [forgive?] What for, ma’ muntxatan? [husband]”
“I have… neglected you.” He’s struggling to speak. You can hear it in the strain of his voice.
Regardless, none of his words are really making any sense to you right now. How has he been neglectful? Despite the circumstances, it’s obvious he’s been trying his hardest to be good to you. Somehow, even conjuring up the strength to pull out of you and walk away.
“Ralak. You have not. Please, I—”
“Look at yourself.” He snaps, taking a quick glance at your body before dropping his head in his hands.
Crack.
Conveniently, another strike of lightning and boom of thunder, revealing exactly what he’s talking about. For a few seconds, you’re met with the sight of your battered body—scabbed and bruised. You lift your head, staring at his shameful demeanour. But the more you stare, the more you see your own reflection.
“And have you looked at yourself?” Your words bounce as you shuffle closer to him. “I bet you can’t even feel all that damage I’ve done to you.” You coo, using your thumb to gently graze past an easy six-inch scratch mark on his bicep. “I haven’t been so gentle with you either.”
Ralak shakes his head, allowing it to sink further into his hands. “You were starved.” He mumbles into the palms of his hands.
You sigh, pulling your knees to your chest and resting your chin in the dip between them. Your eyes wander over to the fire pit, catching sight of the outline of a few fish rolls.
Has he really punished himself by not eating?
“Have you eaten?” You ask, resting a gentle hand on his back.
“No need.”
“You should, you know. Don’t want you starving on me, lak.” You say lightheartedly, allowing your hand to slide up his spine and to the base of his skull.
He lets loose a quiet groan, fighting the twitch of his ears. Your fingers smooth over the base of his kuru, playing with the braid encasing that covers it. “If you do that—”
“Do what?” You whisper coyly, quickly running your hand down the length of his kuru.
His spine immediately straightens, his head lifting from his hands. The tips of your fingers gently make their way to his tendrils, carefully teasing them as they try to wrap around your digits. He sucks in a sharp breath and closes his eyes, allowing a shiver to run through him. It feels like your fingers were inside his skull, tickling his brain in the best way possible.
Reaching for your kuru with your free hand, you bring it up and over your shoulder. You lean into Ralak, your lips only inches away from his. You pull away your fingers to grip and pull his queue forth. The loss of contact has him sitting up straight, opening his eyes to look at you.
“I will not let you suffer alone.” You whisper, lessening the distance between the two of you, tilting your head to the side ever so slightly. He stills himself, even limiting his own breath so as not to make any sudden moves. “Okay?”
You wait for just a moment. For him to say something. To move away. But he remains stock-still, waiting for you to initiate this. You smile, your top teeth briefly rubbing against this lower lip, and lock your lips with his. He exhales through his nose, coming to life from your kiss and returning it full force. You take this as a good sign. A sign that you’ve broken through that wall once again, and bring your kurus together — making tsaheylu [the bond].
Both your eyes fly open, blown pupils staring into one another as your spirits unify. You both pull back, shoulders and chests heaving from your quick, unsteady breaths. You feel all that he feels – the frustration, the panic, the tension. It’s all fading, now finally nearing the end. He feels your subsiding heat, your soreness, your overpowering urge to care for him.
Before another second could pass, your lips crash into each other again—tongues intertwining as they explore one another’s mouth. Using his hand to support your upper back, he slowly lowers you onto the woven floor, parting your legs with his free hand. He situates himself between them, pressing his crotch firmly against yours. He’s warm, just like the toasty fire pit next to you.
I will try to be gentle. Ralak thinks to you, just like he’s been promising to be night after night.
I know you will. You smile, moving your kisses down his jawline as he slides his hands between your sticky pelvises.
—
It hasn’t even been two full weeks since the synchronous heat that had you and your mate locked away in your marui pod for a little over two days. Your back and thighs–and honestly everywhere else– still ache but outside of that, you feel like a brand new person. You weren’t able to confidently say that Ralak feels the same way, however.
Of course, he was adamant on limiting intimacy until you were ‘healed and recovered’. But, he had a bounce in his step. As if he were physically lighter. As if the weight of six years of pent up sexual frustration and self neglect melted off his back when you satiated the ‘insatiable’.
The constant aftercare was almost sickening. Even after most of your marks had faded he remained adamant on treating them with your own omaticayan herbs from back home. He praised them at every use, thanking your people for making such exceptional ’umtsa [medicine].
But as you entered the second week, after tons of reassurance, things dissipated and went back to normal. Ralak went back to his usual routine—fishing, hunting, responding to a few calls to Tonowari and your father. Ralak, without a doubt, made a vow to you and himself not to initiate anything until you were more than healed. But nonetheless clung to you in the nights.
He even, in fact, added a new step into your usual nighttime regimen. As usual, it began with the snuggles and tucking you under his arm just right, providing you with enough warmth to endure the cool night air. Then, he would release the perfect amount of pheromones to get you drowsy enough for bed.
But recently, he’s spent the past seven nights delaying the nightly routine until he’s had his fill of your scent. He’d lay himself down on your chest, nuzzling his face into your bosom and just breathe. You allowed it, thinking it was his own newfound way to wind down for bed.
Yet, the real reason was much different.
——
Right on the two week mark, Tsireya had roped you in with helping her with some of her Tsakrem duties. You were always happy to help her though, as it meant getting away from the marui pod for a little even if it meant being poked and prodded at.
And it certainly didn’t take long for that to happen.
Tsireya lets out a frustrated sigh and plops the medicinal pouch she’s weaving in her lap.  “I can no longer ignore it, y/n. You smell different.”
You lift your head, tearing your focus from your task of weaving and look at her with a puzzled expression on your face. You bring the end of your tail to your nose and sniff, but smell… nothing. “Like what?” Her brows lower and her eyes glisten with concern. She purses her lips and unsheathes the lengthy pin from its casing and grabs your hand. “Here we go.” You mutter to yourself, squeezing your eyes shut as you anticipate the sting.
Prick.
“Sss—ah! You need to be careful with how deep you go with that, you know. You could really—” The tsahik in training puts the wooden stick to her tongue and stares at you wide eyed, mouth agape. It’s as if she wants to speak but the words are lodged in her throat. “What? What is it?”
“You—perhaps I am wrong.” She stutters, quickly sheathing the tool back into its casing. “You should see my mother, y/n.”
“What? Why? Just tell me.” The words come out in a haste, and your voice is laced with panic. Do you have some sort of disease of the sea? Is there a cure?
“You — you are with child.” Her lips tremble as she says the words in an uncertain tone of voice.
“What?” You stare at her dumbfounded, a little caught off guard by her choice of words.
“Pregnant. You’re pregnant. But I am likely mistaken. I am only in training. Which is why I said you should see my moth—”
“Oh. No. You’re… you’re probably right, Tsireya.” You swallow the spit pooling in your cheeks, avoiding eye contact.
“H-How? I mean. I know how. But how? Surely Ralak knows not to do such a thing during your heat. He can control himself. R-Right?”
“Right. If I were the only one… in heat.” You say the last few words under your breath, fixing your shawl before picking back up your task.
“What do you mean?” Tsireya leans in with a tilted head, looking a little closer at your covered shoulder. “Did you help him with his rut?” Tsireya asks bluntly. “He’s been unmated for six years, y/n. Did you reall—”
“I am his mate. Of course I did.” You nearly snap, baffled by the tone she’s having with you.
“H-How did that even work?” Tsireya shakes her head, slowly raising her hand towards you.
“What is that supposed to mean?” You finally lift your head to shoot her a puzzled, yet offended stare. “It worked like it would for any other Na’vi.”
“Y/n…” Tsireya quickly grabs your shawl, pulling it off your shoulder to reveal a large, deep and scabbed up bite mark. It looks almost infected because of the strange omaticayan herbal concoction smeared over it. “You should have just let him ease you into it. Look at you, you’re all bruised and—”
“Tsireya.” You interject, “thank you for the concern, but—” you aggressively pull up your shawl, “I feel just fine. Besides, being in heat was the best way to ‘ease me into it’…He was as gentle as he could be.” You mutter, twiddling with the twine as you think back to the way he tried to handle you with care.
“By the looks of it, he was anything but gentle with you.” Tsireya seethes, angry that the man she grew up looking at like a brother would do something like this to you.
You wince at her words. They’re like a knife to the heart.
A long, awkward silence fills the space between you and Tsireya. She reflects on everything she’s said, realising that perhaps she was a little more harsh than needed. She softens her gaze, “I’m sorry. I should not have said that. I just hate seeing you hurt.”
“I get it. I know you’re just looking out for me. It’s alright, ‘reya.”
You exchange lighthearted smiles.
“You are definitely pregnant then. After six years, he must have really filled you—”
“Tsireya!” You laugh, giving her shoulder a light shove.
Tsireya’s grin morphs into a more serious expression. “See mother to make sure. Okay?”
Your smile also fades into something softer as you nod your head in agreement. “Okay.”

Six becomes Five
Prev | Next
Contains spoilers for Episode 2 of Beast Yeast!
Tumblr media
By the time you arrived back to the group, who were all struggling to process still the whiplash of the past half hour, the changes to the Silver Kingdom already began.
"The Faerie Cookies.." You whispered in horror, gently setting Pure Vanilla Cookie down as you finally shrunk down to your normal size. However, your old outfit stayed. "Shadow Milk Cookie.."
"Reader Cookie, you're one of the old heroes?" White Lily Cookie was the one to speak everything on everyone's mind, looking at you with confusion.
You lowered your head, shameful. "I am, yes. I'm sorry I never told any of you."
"Did you.. not want to come here?" Pure Vanilla Cookied asked, his voice softer than usual. "Is this why you were so hesitant..?"
You hesitated before nodding. "It was. But.. I knew that I couldn't let you guys go here alone."
Elder Faeire Cookie narrowed his eyes the smallest bit. "That is why you seemed so familiar. You've done a good job at hiding who you once were."
"My days as Sparkling Joy Cookie are over," you declared.
"But it has a nice ring.." Gingerbrave muttered as the group began forward.
As you began traversing through the now twisted kingdom, the inhabitants of the Silver Kingdom now jesters and clowns. Doing tricks, and seemingly not noticing anyone. Silverbell Cookie was particularly distraught, but Mercurial Knight Cookie made sure to help him stay focused.
It wasn't long, however, until Pure Vanils Cookie stumbled and placed a hand to his head. "Ah..!!!"
"Pure Vanilla Cookie?!" Your attention snapped to him in and instant, and the group halted. Your hands gently grasped his shoulders.
"Pure Vanilla Cookie... Are you alright...?!" White Lily Cookie gasped.
"I'm... alright.." He assured the both of you, leaning heavily against you. "Just a bit dazed, that's all.."
You hardly believed him, not with how his Soul Jam was pulsing. You eyed it warily, but decided not to say anything for the moment.
"If you're sure." You placed a hand to his back in comfort. He smiled gratefully.
"Well then, let's see.." A familiar voice chortled, and your jam ran cold. "I said hello to Pure Vanilla Cookie... That's one."
"Some Faeries... Two. Some teeny-tiny Cookies... Three."
Your scepter reformed in your hand, and you placed your arm in front of Pure Vanilla Cookie in a protective gesture. The rest of the group all quickly entered defensive positions.
"What's the next number? Six?" You could hear the grin in Shadow Milk Cookie's voice. "Oh! He he he! Seems like there's a special someone missing!"
"NO! Where is he? Where did he go? Aww, I was sure he'd be the first one to greet me when I'm free!"
You hardly paid attention to what was being said next, not even the outburst of Shadow Milk Cookie. You were too focused on figuring out just what your former friend's plan was. He had done something to Pure Vanilla, and you had no doubt about it. He always had an affinity for plays too.
It hit you like a train.
"He's going to put on a play." You spoke, and just as you realized, a giant stage appeared.
"Huh?! A giant stage?!" Gingerbrave gasped.
"What is he planning...?!" White Lily Cookie narrowed her eyes.
"Now...! Once upon a time, there were six amazing Cookies! Truly brilliant!"
Puppets of the Five Beasts and you popped up. While the Five Beasts were silhouettes, yours was completely colored in, with many details.
What stood out was the large and beautiful wings on your back, almost like a butterfly's. Your hair was long and sparkling, trailing off into mist at the ends. Your expression was full of joy, a wide smile on your face. A silver crown was drawn atop on your head, ordained with small gems, the colors of the other Beasts. Around your neck hung your petal-esque Soul Jam, sparkles surrounding it.
"However, there was one Cookie who was truly radiant and loving like no other! Sparkling Joy Cookie!"
The other puppets disappeared as your sole one remained. Rays resembling sunbeams danced around you, as did your puppet danced around.
"Sparkling Joy Cookie was perfect in every way! They loved and they loved like no other, bringing joy to the little common Cookies of the world."
"However.. this love wasn't without its price, no no!"
Your puppet flew down and then came back up. It showed you on your knees, weeping. A large, grand, and quiet frankly scary puppet of a Witch appeared, her hands hovering over you.
"The Witches saw this kindness, and when the other five brilliant Cookies began to have their fun, they turned Sparkling Joy Cookie AGAINST THEIR TRUE LOVED ONES!!"
The outburst only made Gingerbrave's group flinch back, and you had a horrified look on your face.
"Ahem.. Apologies for that! Now, where were we.. Ah, yes!"
The puppets flipped, and their side profiles faced the audience now.
"Sparkling Joy Cookie was very resistant to the Witches' manipulation at first! 'No!' They cried. 'I won't! They've done nothing wrong. They're pure still!' But.."
The puppets changed, showing the Witch covering the puppet's eyes with her hands. "Sparkling Joy Cookie was only so strong.. and they fell to the whim of their creators.. aiding in the capture of their friends.."
You softened a bit, hearing how.. somber Shadow Milk Cookie was. As if he was truly saddened.
"And soon after, a tree was planted, and a foolish king rose to power.."
The stage vanished, as did the audience, and your group pressed forward.
"Reader Cookie, was what he said true?" Silverbell Cookie asked, his voice soft as he shot away some advancing puppets.
"Partly." You narrowed your eyes. "I was friends with them, once upon a time. I did help the Witches imprison them, but.. it was of my own will."
A new stage appeared, and a new puppet appeared, called the Fool-King. It wasn't hard to see how that was meant to represent. You tuned out that part until Gingerbrave asked Pure Vanilla if he was alright.
At his insistence that he was fine, White Lily Cookie shook her head. "Tell us... What did Shadow Milk Cookie tell you earlier...?"
With that, Pure Vanilla Cookie began to appear more frazzled. "He.. disguised himself as the Light of Truth. And spoke to me from the Dark Side of the Moon..."
You froze at that, your heart practically stilling. Shadow Milk Cookie.. could reach Pure Vanilla Cookie. He could try and lie to him.
Don't tell me you're just going to let that happen?
The familiar sound of your voice, if not a little more mature, tsked at you.
Some compassion you are, letting him suffer. Share me with him!
"Wh.. you can't be serious!" You whispered softly, your eyes wide. "That's too dangerous. What if Shadow Milk Cookie tries to corrupt us?"
I'm stronger than that, and so are you. Share me with him.
You bit your bottom lip, and Pure Vanilla Cookie rested a hand on your shoulder. "Reader Cookie?" He asked. "Are you alright-?"
He cut himself off when you spun to look at him and gently grabbed his hands. Your Soul Jam pulsed and a magic whipped out, forming a large bubble around the entire group.
"Huh?! Reader Cookie?!" Wizard Cookie clutched his staff.
Elder Faeire Cookie looked shocked. "This magic.."
You exhaled softly, and you resumed your old appearance once more. However, your wings were now visible, spread wide and grand.
"I have an idea on how to help you," you spoke, voice soft. "My only question is.. do you-"
"Yes." Pure Vanilla Cookie spoke, his voice soft and full of admiration. You blushed intensely. "I trust you, Reader Cookie."
You nodded and closed your eyes. You leaned forward and pressed your forehead against his. "Then stay calm.. and open your heart to me."
Familiar magic, radiant and ever-changing in color, began to swirl around you two. Your Soul Jam was glowing particularly bright. Your wings gently glistened in the light, and your hair grew to the length it once was.
A familiar light form from the magic. It zipped and swirled around, your laughter coming from it.
Oh, what love! What compassion!
With what sounded like a joyful laugh, it zipped over to the duo, spun around them, and then shot towards Pure Vanilla Cookie's Soul Jam.
The magic died down, and you let out an exhale. Then, you began to laugh softly. "That.. that worked! I didn't think it would..!"
"What was that?!" Wizard Cookie shouted, and you blushed sheepishly.
"I'm sure you saw that light.. that was the Light of Compassion in its purest form." You explained. Your form slowly began to shift back to the regular one you used. "It insisted that I share it with Pure Vanilla Cookie."
Said Cookie spared a glance at his Soul Jam, and there was a small petal pattern in the middle.
White Lily Cookie couldn't help a small smile. "It did mention something about love.."
"HAHA WHAT?" You laughed nervously. The barrier around the group fell, and you immediately rushed forward. "C'MON GUYS, LET'S GO GET SHADOW MILK COOKIE!"
Small bits of laughter came from the group, and Pure Vanilla Cookie felt a little lighter as he followed.
Well, hello there! What joy and love you hold in your heart..
The sound of your voice, yet more mature, echoed through his mind. Yet, as if like second nature, Pure Vanilla Cookie knew that it was the Light of Compassion.
Whenever that Shadow Milk Cookie comes back, trying to trick you, focus on me or Sparkling Joy Cookie, Pure Vanilla Cookie. We won't let him lead you astray!
"What you said.." He whispered softly. "About love. Did you mean it?"
Of course. It sounded almost amused. I do believe that you're the only one Sparkling Joy Cookie would show the full extent of their power to.
Pure Vanilla Cookie couldn't help but feel honored.
But, of course, that didn't last long.
Especially not when Elder Faeire Cookie was struck down.

So, when the internet starts going crazy speculating that Matt has a girlfriend, they do a podcast about reader and Matt's relationship and they're flirting the whole time, Nick and Chris can't stand it, jokingly, but put up with it. So, when they release the pod episode, the fans go crazy, and Matt and reader are just openly flirting with each other online and it's all just so cute and fluffy. If you can't, I completely understand. I hope you have a wonderful day and / or night! <3

everything written is completely fictional. the people i write for are written with characteristics and mannerisms that i made for them, this is in no way depicting what would actually happen in real life.
“Good morning campers, welcome to the Cut the Camera Podcast. I’m Nicolas Sturniolo.”
You glanced over at Matt, eyeing his side profile as he tightened his arm around your shoulder and pulled the mic towards him. It was your fault the secret came out when it did, you made googly eyes at him every chance you got, and he knew every single time.
“I’m Matthew Sturniolo.” He said, looking down at you with furrowed brows and a soft smile.
“And I’m gonna be sick.” Chris said, your jaw dropping in amusement as you whipped your head towards him. He laughed into the mic and shrugged his shoulders. “It isn’t my fault you’re staring at Matt like the sun shines out of his ass.” He said.
You rolled your eyes and pulled your mic close to you. “And what about it?” You shot back, Matt scoffing and running a hand over his face.
“Well, I guess that is one way to start the topic. Why don’t we go ahead and introduce our special guest, Matt?” Nick prompted, Matt uncovering his face and adjusting his headphones. He looked into one of the cameras and smiled, looking back down at you. “Go ahead.”
You cleared your throat and looked into the camera, pulling your mic towards your face and sighing into it. “If you don’t know me, I’m Y/n. I’ve known these losers for a couple of years now.” You said, turning your head and smiling at Matt. “And dating this specific loser for a little over a year, and if it wasn’t for you meddling kids, we could have gotten away with keeping it a secret for a little longer.” Your eyes met the camera again with raised eyebrows and an amused smile. “No, in all seriousness, it’s funny the way everyone found out.” You said.
Matt chuckled and shook his head. “So, basically, this podcast episode is talking about how we met Y/n, how she somehow got stuck with Matt, and how you all figured out the secret.” He said, his fingers tapping against your arm lightly from where his hand was draped over your shoulders.
“And Nick and I are going to try and keep our food down while we’re at it.” Chris said. You rolled your eyes and adjusted your mic.
“Chris is just jealous, don’t listen to him.” Nick said, Chris scoffing into his cup. You threw your head back and laughed, grateful that the microphone only picked up the slightest sound of the raucous noise.
The pod went by smoothly, the four of you bouncing off of each other with jokes and stories that all of you loved. One particular story, you noticed, the fans were editing like crazy.
“Look at this.” Matt said, holding his phone so you could see it from where your head was laid in his lap.
“That isn’t how it happened!” Matt exclaimed, the camera panning to Chris rolling his eyes, and then back to you with your face in your hands to hide your embarrassment.
“That abso-fuckin-lutely is how it happened. You were walking Y/n out, and I ran downstairs to remind her to bring her camera the next day, and I caught you kissing her goodnight! Don’t tell me what I remember, that shit still haunts my nightmares.”
The edit continued, more clips of Chris rolling his eyes at the camera and laughing in slow motion to a song you couldn’t recognize.
You sighed and looked up at Matt. “Out of all of the stories we told on how Nick and Chris found out, that isn’t the one I’d expect to be blowing up.” You said, pressing the comments icon and smiling at all of the sweet things being said about your relationship.
“I mean, it is probably the funniest story we told, Chris was more animated than he’d been in a long time.” Matt said, liking the Tiktok and locking his phone. With his hands free, he traced mindless designs on your arm with his fingertips, and ran his other hand through your hair.
You hummed and closed your eyes, completely relaxing onto the couch. “I saw one the other day, and it was a gag counter. I think Chris hit like thirty before the end of the pod.” Matt said, a huff of air leaving your nose as you grinned and looked up at him.
“There’s no way it was less than fifty, it was ridiculous.” You said, Matt laughing softly above you and shrugging his shoulders.
“Not my problem we make him sick.”

daylight - eleven
jj maybank x fem!reader | part 11 of the daylight series | read part 10 here
content warnings: mentions of sex
word count: 1.8k.
blurb: reunited with your best friend from Canada, the two of you talk about Tyler and JJ, and you finally come to a decision.
Tumblr media
“Mimsy?”
When your best friend smiles at you, you wonder if you’re hallucinating. It’s only when she’s flying off the bed, squealing as she tackles you in a hug, that you’re sure she’s here. Here, in Kildare County, North Carolina, instead of Vancouver. As the shock subsides, your arms coil around her before squeezing like a python around prey.
“Oh my God,” you mumble, nestling your face in her shoulder. She smells like home. Like childhood and make-believe. It makes your eyes water. “Mimsy.”
“Surprise, babes!” she sing-songs into your ear.
Pulling back, you take her in. “How…When…How?”
“Darren, of course,” Mimsy replies with a cheeky grin. She parts from you and laps your bedroom leisurely, as if she’s as familiar with it as you. “I told him about your wacked out voicemail and he offered to buy me a plane ticket. All I had to do was let him put it up my butt.”
“Mimsy!” you screech.
She turns to you, shrugging. “What? I wanted him to.”
Shaking your head, you begin to laugh. It’s easy to forget how much you miss someone until you have them back. Having Mimsy in your company again felt like how a child might when they rediscover their favourite teddy bear that had been missing for months. The Pogues had been great friends to you since moving to Kildare, but like a substituted cuddly toy, nobody had come close to matching Mimsy, let alone replacing her. Having her back felt like coming up for air after hours underwater.
“So is Darren here too?” you ask.
“Nah,” she says. “Left him in Vancouver.”
“Well, how long are you here for?”
“Just a week. I’m thinking that’ll be long enough to set you back on your path. Bestow some wisdom on you and all that,” Mimsy says. She makes her way back over to you. “I took your voicemail as an S.O.S type situation.”
“Yeah, well,” you say, ditching your bag. “I think I screwed things up pretty wonderfully.”
“Men are simple. He’ll come crawling back,” Mimsy assures, but you’re not so convinced.
Wandering over to your pinboard, your eyes land on JJ’s beaming face. “I don’t know,” you mumble. “I don’t think JJ’s like that.”
Mimsy hums thoughtfully. She joins you by your side, presumably following your gaze. “He’s cute.”
“I know,” you chuckle.
“He a good kisser?” Shoving her shoulder jokingly, Mimsy lets out a laugh. “What!? I’m just asking the important questions here.”
Shaking your head, you head to your bedroom door. “Wanna go check out the area? It feels wrong wasting a good day cooped up in here.”
“Sure thing,” Mimsy easily agrees.
She follows you down the stairs and into your car, and chatters the entire drive to the harbour about all the gossip and drama you’d missed in Vancouver. It felt like a series recap that came at the start of ‘a very special’ episode. It also worked well as a distraction from thoughts about JJ. That boy had crossed through your mind so much recently, you wondered whether your brainwaves might be permanently altered.
Your tour of Kildare starts with Heywards and the Wreck before venturing towards the stretches of beach. Once Mimsy has gawked at the surfer bros for about fifteen minutes, you manage to drag her to the marsh-land area. Point out some fishing spots that JJ had introduced you to. Provide vague directions to the Pogue’s houses. After a brief lap of Figure Eight, the two of you swing by a taco bell before pulling into a look over.
“So,” Mimsy says as she chews a churro. “What the fuck happened?”
“With JJ?” you check. She nods. Your eyes drift over to the view. Green-leaved trees form rivers, and concrete roads and housing estates become the stones of the estuary that was Kildare County. “We got in this dumb fight when I was at his to watch a movie. After that incident a while back, I still haven’t let him go down on me or anything, and he got all confrontational about it. Took it personal and stuff and…I bolted.”
“The incident being the thing about your hoo-ha?” Mimsy checks. You visibly cringe.
“Please, do not call it that,” you mumble.
“If you get to wear a shirt about fishing, I get to call your vaj whatever I so please,” Mimsy shrugs. She offers you a churro after as if she didn’t just say the most heinous thing you’ve ever had uttered in your car. You accept. “But is it?”
“Mhm. I’m just scared that it’ll happen again,” you say. “It was embarrassing.”
“For like a minute,” Mimsy says. “But didn’t you say JJ was really chill with it.”
“The first time, yeah. But what if it’s a recurring thing? He’s gonna start thinking it’s because of him,” you explain, calming your worry with a chocolate-drenched doughnut stick.
“And you’re sure it isn’t?”
“No!”
“Alright!”
Sighing, you shake your head. “Sorry. I’m just…I think it’s Tyler.”
“This again?” Mimsy's tone isn’t angry; it's more concerned. “Babes, when are you going to let that whole thing be in the past?”
“I think I’m starting to,” you assure. “Maybe I didn’t deal with it when it actually happened but I had this conversation the other day and sort of...ended up burning all of his old stuff.”
Mimsy quirks a brow, squinting with just the one eye. “Bit melodramatic, don’t you think?”
“Shut up. It helped, you reply, smiling smally. It fades away like the setting sun. “I think the whole thing has just made me nervous.”
“In what way, babes? Like you can’t trust another guy again?” Mimsy wonders.
You chew the inside of your cheek in thought, brows furrowing, and something dawns upon you.
“I don’t think it’s that I don’t trust others. I think it’s more that I don’t trust myself. I mean, I stayed around with Tyler for so long, even when I knew I shouldn’t. Even when everyone was telling me it was bad news. That it wasn’t normal to feel the way I was feeling in a relationship. I just let him bleed me dry, and went to all that effort to try and win his attention and his affection, just for it to all mean nothing. I don’t know,” you sigh, breaking away from your rant. “I guess I just don’t trust my judgement anymore. JJ’s fine now but so was Tyler, when I first met him.”
“Okay, not true,” Mimsy quickly disagrees. Your head darts up from your twiddling fingers. “Tyler was a prick from the start, you just didn’t want to see it.”
“As delicate as a sledgehammer, Mimsy,” you mutter.
“Second,” she continues. “From the things you’ve told me about JJ: he’s nothing like Tyler.”
That was true. With Tyler, you begged to receive compliments and even then, they were few and far between. But JJ was generous with them. Casually commented on your outfits, or your photos, or yourself. Tyler seemingly needed alcohol to remember that you existed whereas JJ came to you sober, drunk or high. Whilst your ex teased you for your fears and hopes, JJ listened and understood. Knew just how far to push the line of joking without becoming mean.
“Can I tell you a story?” Mimsy asks. It brings you from your mental comparison. Crossing your legs in your seat and pinching another churro, you nod.
“Sure.”
“Okay, well, it’s not exactly a story but I think it applies to this situation,” Mimsy self-corrects. “You know that show BoJack that I watch?”
“Yeah?” you wonder, unsure as to where she might be going.
“There’s this character, Wanda, who dates BoJack for a while. At first things are perfect. Sunshine, rainbows, that whole pile of crap. But after a while, his true colours show and she can’t keep moulding him into the guy she can see he could be. Eventually it all falls apart and she says something that I think encapsulates you with Tyler beautifully. She says, ‘it’s funny: when you look at someone through rose-coloured glasses, all the red flags, just look like flags’.”
The two of you sit in the quote for a moment, eyes locked. Mimsy starts to smile, sympathetic and sweet.
“I don’t think you’re gonna make the same mistake you did with Tyler ‘cause he ripped those glasses right off you. I think you’ve learnt your lesson once and once was enough.”
Pursing your lips, you try to keep the brimming emotions at bay. It feels like lately all it takes is a pin to prick you and you begin to cry.
“I think it’s hard 'cause I never got the closure that I wanted. Tyler never explained why or helped leave things amicable. Or apologise, even.: not properly”
Mimsy scoffs almost sadly. “Would you have even wanted him to, though? He was a fucking pro at saying sorry.”
“Mm, that’s true,” you muse. “Maybe it would have made me feel good for a minute, in the moment, but after…”
“Yeah,” Mimsy quietly agrees, somehow hearing your unspoken words. She picks out another churro whilst you pick yours apart. “I don’t think closure’s a real thing, though. Sometimes it is, sure, if you’re really lucky, but most things aren’t like the movies. You don’t get this picture-perfect coffee-date to clear the air and stuff. Most of the time, people just leave. Like my dad. I don’t even remember what the last thing I ever said to him was, and then he was gone for good. I guess not having closure at all is sometimes closure enough, if that makes sense.”
Her words make you take pause. Half-amused, half-smiling, you take in your wonderful best friend. “When the fuck did you get so wise?”
“Oh, after you left,” Mimsy jokingly replies. “I had to read some self-help books to get me through it.”
Snorting, you toss a piece of churro at her. Her advice melts into that of Barry’s, and the cathartic bonfire from the other night serves as a catalyst for your decision making. Maybe everybody’s right. Maybe it’s time for you to remember that all people are different people, and one man’s careless actions don’t emulate anothers. JJ can’t read your mind. He can’t understand the layers of emotion and history behind one small action, and he can’t decipher what you want through your wordless actions. You need to talk to him. You’ve kept your cards close to your chest for long enough.
“Alright, enough about me,” you say, popping a piece of churro into your mouth. Your grin brightens up the car, lightening the mood. “Tell me about Darren.”
“Oh, baby, I thought you’d never ask,” Mimsy giggles, a mischievous glint in her eyes. “So it all started at this house party…”
And just like that, you listen happily to Mimsy's rambling and allow yourself to enjoy life that tiny bit more once again, with a bookmarked thought to talk to JJ sooner rather than later.

"just a bit nervous," you force a chuckle then he pulls you in to kiss your forehead. "you think they'll notice we're.. y'know." you tilt your head, placing a hand on his chest before wrapping your arms around his neck.
he shrugs in response, hands now on your hips, caressing the exposed skin from your top. "i don't know honestly but i don't think it'll be a big deal for them cause i love you."
you giggle before pulling him in for a kiss.
"okay let's start then!"
the podcast went on like it usually did, you and hamzah spoke about everything and anything you could think of — from the recent movies you've watched to activities you guys have been doing.
the next part of the podcast's segment was introduced by hamzah, he pulls out his phone and looks at his instagram messages.
"okay so this is the first one, i'll read it first and tell me what you think."
you nod at him to start the he starts to read.
"hi hamzah, i'm f-17 and i finish high school very soon. for the past year, i've realized that i lick—oh sorry it's like my best friend who's m-18 and he's had girls chasing him for a while now and he was entertaining them but ended up not having anything with any of the girls. but recently he's been hinting at liking me and flirting with me playfully i guess i don't know if i should let him know i like him, help me please."
you look at him to see if he was finished then he puts his phone down, now turning to look at you. “okay so you like your best friend that sounds familiar,” hamzah gives a teasing look to you with a smirk on his face.
you roll your eyes playfully, inching closer to him on the sofa until your knees are close to each other.
“i can relate to this, i was clueless too if he was flirting with me or not,” you glance between hamzah and the camera as you speak, holding the mic a bit closer. “but in the end it still worked out and he’s… well my boyfriend now!” you both chuckle and you feel yourself blush, hiding your face with the mic.
hamzah places a hand on your thigh which thankfully wasn’t caught in the frame. “oh my god okay, since you’re sooo happy talking about him, continue the story and give our girl… uh… wait what’s her name—oh there it is! junia!”
you get closer to hamzah, now shoulder to shoulder, and interlocking your hands with each other.
“okay so before i dated my boyfriend, he really wasn’t entirely my bestest best friend but more like a close best friend? he had a special place in my heart–”
“oh really what kinda special place?” he nudges you which you ignore.
“and even before i realized i liked him, it was like i’m always wanting to be around him or talk to him a lot.” your gaze was entirely on him as you said this, completely forgetting about the camera recording and a smile started to grow on hamzah’s face, looking down at his lap to try and hide it.
“i’ve known my boyfriend almost 5 or 6 years before we started dating and it really took me a while to realize i was in love with him.” you were already smiling at him, rubbing circles on the back of his hand.
his head shots up and looks at you, eyes a bit wide.
“wait you were in love already?”
you bite your lip to try and stop yourself from smiling bigger. “yeah, dude, i’ve told you this before!” you let go of his hand, the smile still prominent on your face as you punch his arm playfully.
“okay loser, just continue,”
you roll your eyes and scoff jokingly. “but in all honesty, i know i barely talk and post about my boyfriend but he knows i love him soooo much,” you look up at hamzah who was trying to hide his smile by biting the insides of his cheeks.
you lean closer to him before continuing. “so junia! if you really think you both like each other then go for it! you never know what could happen.” you said and it was like you had hearts as your eyes as you looked at hamzah.
he indistinctively puts an arm over your shoulder as the podcast continues, reading more of the messages and giving the viewers advice.
“oh hamzah! i think this one you can help with,” as you were about to show hamzah the message, your dog, comes out of the room and tries pulling you away from hamzah.
“jesus christ, loki, stop stealing my girlfriend.” he muttered but was still heard on the microphone.
you leave the couch for a while and place your dog in the room.
“okay so here’s the message.” you hand him the phone and he reads it.
“hi hamzah, i don’t know if you’re taken or single cause honestly you’ve been sending us mixed signals at the moment but if you are taken, can you help me flirt. i start college soon and i still don’t know how to talk and flirt with girls—okay i see what you’re trying to say here y/n what the hell.” he glares at you as he finally finishes reading and you stick your tongue out at him which he just smiles at.
"just a tip to everyone who's watching, never ask hamzah how to flirt cause this boy can't flirt to save his life!" you laugh as you said the joke, hamzah putting the phone down and covering your mouth to stop you from saying anything else.
the recording went on for a few more minutes, you ended the episode on a positive note since all you did was tease and make fun of each other.
"i don't think i'll ever be invited back here again after that, so bye you guys!" you blow a kiss to the camera before standing up and stopping the recording.

Would you be open to doing a Dad!Husk with daughter reader but nobody knows (except Alastor ofc) until she gets drunk with Angel after seeing a similar scene from episode 5 with Husk and Alastor and starts crying because she’s afraid of losing her dad, and everyone puts the pieces together when Husk starts comforting her? Sorry that it’s super specific 😅
First off, oh my gosh, thank you for your request!!!
It’s all good! I love this prompt! I know that you said reader ends up getting drunk but the story took a bit of a different turn and you just end up going to the bar sober.
I hope that I still did this fic justice though! 🖤
rating: PG
genre: angst and fluff
characters: Dad!Husk x Reader
warnings: abuse, soul owning, panic attack from reader
You knew that being in Hell came with a price. Your dad had tried to shield you from the more… fucked up parts of Hell. But he couldn’t save you from everything, which is why when you were younger he made you promise to never tell anyone you were his daughter. So, you were a kid he found and was taking care of, his assistant, apprentice, a bar back when he was bartending. Which was how you ended up at the hotel.
You knew that your father’s soul was owned by Alastor, who had been nothing but pleasant to you, but there was still a bitterness in your mouth when you looked at him or talked to him. It was at the point where you could forget the fact that Alastor owned Husk’s soul. There were times you were reminded though and reality crashed upon you rudely. Like when both you and Husk were summoned to the hotel to help, and you became a trusty bar back and bartender in training, keeping the secret of Husk’s relationship to you.
This night though, your dad had gone off to find Alastor and Angel had been at the bar asking about different drinks. You couldn’t remember what actually went into Angel’s drink and neither did he saying, “It’s something Husk makes… special. Ya know?”
You sighed and just explained you’d go find Husk and get the ingredients, muttering about getting a recipe book for the bar. You were walking the halls when the lights started flickering. You ran to the hall where it was the worse, seeing Alastor conjure the chain that wrapped around your dad’s neck. Watching as the Radio Demon transformed into his demonic figure and your dad crouched on the ground.
“If this happens again, I’ll make sure you and every other disrespectful wretch knows exactly who they are messing with. Understood?” Alastor says, his voice low.
“Understood.” Husk said as Alastor went back to his normal self.
“Good man.” Alastor whistled as he walked away and you stood there around the corner clutching your chest. Your breathing too quick and tears in your eyes.
‘He wouldn’t actually kill dad, would he?’ you thought to yourself, the reality of Alastor owning Husk’s soul crashing down upon you. You quickly leave the hallway, not wanting your dad to see that you had been there, as you got back to the bar. Still trying to calm your breathing, Angel’s words asking if you got the recipe sounded like they were underwater. You nodded your head to whatever he said, and tried to start making his drink with whatever you thought went into it. Thinking you were doing a pretty good job at not showing how close you were to breaking. Until Angel came behind the bar, grabbing your shoulder and spinning you around to face him. His eyes widened.
“What’s wrong toots?” He asked, his hands gliding over your arms comfortingly and giving you a once over to make sure you weren’t hurt.
“I-I-He-And I-“ And sobs just crashed against your lips as you fell against Angel. Angel freezes in shock, and holds you, trying to calm you down. Charlie and Vaggie hear and come over seeing you a wreck. Your sobs not quieting and now all three are consoling you and attempting to get you to calm down enough to actually understand what’s wrong.
Husk finally comes down stairs, sighing and sees a crowd around the bar, normally crowds and bars are synonymous but not at this hotel. He walks over, his ears picking up your cries, automatically going into protection mode. He brushes through everyone and sees Angel consoling you.
“What’s going on?” He asks and before Angel can answer, you launch yourself at Husk. Still crying, but settling down as you feel him in your arms. Your hand going to his wrist where you could feel his heartbeat and feeling that calms you down further.
“What happened?” He murmurs to you, his arms and wings wrapped around you.
“Angel’s drink-And I didn’t know th’ ingredien’s-Went to find you. And saw you and-and-Al…” You trailed off and buried yourself in Husk’s chest.
“Oh sweetheart.” He murmured. His head dropping to rest on top of yours. “I’m so sorry.”
Angel, Charlie, and Vaggie all look at each other.
“So, that’s not just some bar back, bartender in training you got off the street?” Vaggie asks.
“Yeah, you’s both seem a little familiar with each other.” Angel adds. Husk sighs.
“‘m sorry.” You say lifting yourself off Husk.
“You don’t have anything ta be sorry for. I should be the one apologizin’.” Husk says, his hand on your cheek.
“Not at all.” You shake your head at him.
“Oh shit.” Angel says now looking at you both. “Is that your daughter Husk?” You look wide eyed at Angel and then your dad.
“Yes, Charlie, Vaggie, Angel, meet my daughter, Y/N.” Husk says, gesturing to you.
“Hi!” You say waving, looking a bit sheepish. “I’m so sorry we didn’t say anything before. It was just safer this way because-“ Husk interrupts you.
“I’m sure they understand, sweetheart.” Husk looks at all of them and all nod. “And I’m sure this isn’t information that will be getting out either.” Husk looks at all of them again. Again everyone nods.
“On my word, this will stay between us.” Charlie promises.
“Not a word.” Vaggie says. Angel just makes the motion of his lips being zipped and throwing away the key.
“Now, who was wanting a drink?” Husk says, stepping behind the bar.
“Oh, that was me!” Angel pipes up and sits down.
“O’ course it was.” Husk mutters as he starts making the drink and Charlie steps forward more.
“Can we ask questions? I have so many.” She says, looking at Husk then you. You look back at your dad and he motions you forward. You smile and sit next to Angel as Charlie and Vaggie sit down too.
“What do you want to know?” you ask.
The rest of the night was spent around the bar as Charlie, Vaggie and Angel got to know you outside of what you had just been telling them and you had fun poking fun at your dad at times, recounting times like how he taught you to count with poker chips. The laughter bled into the night and marked one of the happier nights that you could remember and for the first time, you were happy to be at the Hazbin Hotel.

Other than that, I hope everyone enjoys these next two chapters. This one’s less action and more set-up for future parts. The next one should be out before Sunday’s episode. Read on, babes!!
—————————
May 10th, 2002. Austin, Texas.
The only proof Joel had that he’d been at the bar the night before was the throbbing pain in his temples. It was a sobering reminder that his talent for drinking was slipping with age. Still, he pounded some coffee and an Aspirin, picked up Tommy and headed off to work.
On their way, Joel found his eye straying to each women he drove past that even bore a tiny resemblance to Y/n. He should have been surprised that it had only taken one meeting for her to brand herself on his brain, but she was something special. She probably had that effect on everyone she met.
Joel parked the car outside the hardware store, leaving a semi-hungover Tommy to grab a few more minutes of sleep. Sarah was at soccer practice for the morning and then off to a friend’s house, they could almost get in full day of work.
Both the Miller brothers knew their way around the store like the back of their hands. Joel went to the back to get his quota of wood cut, made small talk with the older guy who worked the cutter and navigated the aisles effortlessly. There was nothing new about any of it…
On the other side of each aisle, Y/n was pushing a cart and restocking product. Home improvement wasn’t her passion in life, but her father had been one of those “don’t pay someone to do it if you can do it yourself” kind of guys, so it came natural to her. The pay was good, she liked her boss, and she enjoyed the community aspect of the job.
They were dancing without knowing it. Each time Joel moved in one direction, Y/n moved in the opposite, and vice versa.
Eventually, Joel got to the last thing on his list: a new drill bit. He steered his cart around a corner and down the corresponding aisle. When he got to the hook it was supposed to be on, he found it empty. This was not the day for that…
Y/n pulled down the aisle, spotting a customer rifling through a shelf, and put on her employee smile. “Can I help you find some-“
Joel practically smacked his head on the shelf above, standing up as soon as he heard that familiar voice.
Y/n’s eyes lit up, “You.”
“You,” Joel echoed, a surprised smile coming to his face.
“Hi,” Y/n chuckled.
Joel’s brain stopped firing any and all signals, “Hi.”
“So we had the same early morning planned,” Y/n smiled.
“Shoulda carpooled,” Joel replied, earning a breathy laugh. His chest warmed.
“How are you?” Y/n asked, as if some grand thing had occurred in the past twelve hours they’d been apart.
Joel leaned one arm on the handle of his cart, “Good. Headin’ off to work.”
“No Tommy?” Y/n looked over his shoulder.
“Nah, he’s sleepin’ last night off in the truck,” Joel said, putting a hand on his hip.
“Can’t say I blame him,” Y/n looped a finger through the grate of her cart, swinging her body into the aisle, “I shouldn’t have let you two buy me that second glass.”
Joel smirked, “Can’t hold your liquor?”
“Oh, I can hold it,” Y/n said confidently, scrunching up her face after, “Until the next morning.”
The two of them shared a short laugh before Y/n remembered why they were there. “You were looking for something,” she pointed to the shelf.
He was? “Oh, yeah,” Joel remembered, “Quarter inch bit.”
“Hang on,” Y/n said, determinedly sorting through one of the boxes in her cart. She pulled out the piece of steel and held it up victoriously.
“You’re my hero,” Joel said, taking it from her, “Day would have been a waste without this.”
“Well, there you go,” Y/n couldn’t help herself from beaming, “You saved me last night, I returned the favor.”
Joel internally winced at the memory.
“Are you done shopping or can I pull anything else out of my magic Mary Poppins cart?” Y/n quipped, patting a hand against one of the boxes.
“Nah, that was the last thing on the list,” he answered, wishing dearly he’d written more on the piece of paper in his hand.
“Well, I’ll check you out,” Y/n said, wishing she’d chosen any other phrasing.
Joel held up a hand, “I don’t wanna take you away from what you’re doin’.”
“Please, you’re doing me a favor,” Y/n grabbed the end of her cart and began to drag it down the aisle, “You’re the first human interaction I’ve had all morning.”
Deciding that he was doing a service and nothing more, Joel followed her through the store. He didn’t know if he believed in fate, but he believed in luck, and it felt like he’d gotten tossed a rare bit of good luck by meeting Y/n again.
Y/n was half convinced she’d caused Joel to materialize. Here she was, thinking about him and his big brown eyes all morning, and then there he was. It was either an unbelievable stroke of luck, or someone Up There had seen fit to brighten her day a little.
As Y/n scanned Joel’s items, a nervous silence blanketed them. Everything that filtered through their minds sounded too awkward to say. There wasn’t a whole lot of ground to cover, they’d only known each other for less than twenty four hours.
“You doin’ okay?” Joel finally asked, hoping he wasn’t crossing some line, “After last night?”
“Oh,” Y/n looked down at the pile of purchases, “Yeah, I’m fine. Not the first time it’s happened. I just need to get better at defending myself.”
Joel’s blood boiled under his calm demeanor, men were awful. “There shouldn’t be a need in the first place,” he bit out as he gripped his cart a little tighter.
Yn shrugged sadly, “It’s the world we live in. That’s why it’s so nice to meet guys like you and Tommy. You make up for your sex’s failings.”
Joel chuckled under his breath as he handed her his debit card, “Not sure we can fill that tall an order.”
Laughing softly enough to make Joel’s chest flutter a little, Y/n rang up the order and handed him the bags.
“Well, I guess I know where I’ll be seeing you two from now on,” she said.
“Yeah,” Joel replied, “And thanks for helping me find that bit. You really saved our asses.”
Y/n playfully held her hands up, “I didn’t get employee of the month for nothing.”
Joel could hear that little voice in his head, the same one that had a residency in the gut, telling him to take a shot and ask Y/n out. He wasn’t a timid guy, but she had some sort of spell on him that made his palms sweat and his mind go blank. Plus, he’d sworn off bringing anyone into his life a long time ago. It was all around, a bad idea.
“Well, I’ll see you around,” he finally decided on.
Y/n hoped her smile hid all her sadness, “See you.”
Joel and his cart made it about three steps before he threw caution to the wind.
“Hey,” he turned around, “Do you think, maybe….I could take you to dinner sometime?”
Y/n’s grin spread like wildfire across her face, “Yeah,” she replied, “I’d like that.”
Both of them released a caught breath, Y/n pressed a button on the printer and tore off a piece of reciept paper. She scribbled her number down.
“I work a lot,” she told him as she wrote, “But I’m usually free on Fridays.”
“Okay,” Joe took the paper from her, their fingers brushing, “I’ll call you.”
Y/n had to physically restrain her lips and the giggle that threatened to show itself. “You do that,” she responded, fiddling with her pen.
Joel gave a sideways smile, deciding to get out while he was on a winning streak. He held up a hand and turned on his heel, confidence powering his stride.
Y/n stayed at the checkout counter a little longer, trying to compose herself lest customers think she was high. She set her pen back down and did a little skip back to her cart. It was going to be a great day.
Joel made it back to the truck, loading his supplies into the flatbed with unusual enthusiasm. He didn’t care about his headache, his backache…he was flying too high for anything to bother him. He climbed into the driver’s seat, Tommy groaned as he did.
“You took your time,” he grunted.
Joel didn’t get many moments of victory, he was going to let himself bask in this one a while. He held up the piece of paper to Tommy, who leaned over and read it. Above an unknown phone number was Y/n’s name with a heart next to it.
Tommy’s grin stretched, “No way.”
Joel simply grinned and started up the truck.
“No fuckin’ way,” Tommy got louder, reaching over and shaking his brother’s shoulder. They drove off, Joel’s mood was shifted for the day. The nerves would set in later. For now, he just wanted to be excited about taking out the beautiful girl from the bar.
—————————
2023, Boston
Tess slammed Y/n up against the inside of the abandoned building.
“What the hell’s going on?”
Y/n pulled on Tess’ jacket and tried to flip her around. She rammed her elbow down on Tess’ arm and broke the hold. Before Tess could fight back, Joel took hold of both their arms and wrenched them apart. Y/n slipped as he did an fell on her side, refusing to groan and let any vulnerability show.
“I already told you,” Y/n grunted, pushing up on one arm, “She’s not sick.”
“You think we’re just gonna believe you?” Tess continued, “Give us one reason why we shouldn’t kill you both right now.”
Y/n smirked, her eyes bouncing to Joel, who glared at her with the same coldness he had twenty years ago. “How else are you going to get your battery?”
No matter how much control Joel wanted to pretend he had over the situation, Y/n held the real power. Ellie and her were the key to getting to Tommy.
Ellie watched this all from the side, exhausted and scared.
“Now here’s what’s going to happen,” Y/n stood to her feet and pointed to Ellie, “She’s going to get some sleep. At some point tonight, I’m going to do the same. Have a gun on me the whole time, I don’t fucking care,” she gestured between her and the girl, “But both of us are going to be breathing come morning,” she looked to Joel, “Or else you get to live with the fact that Tommy could have lived if it wasn’t for your overeager trigger finger.”
Joel’s blood boiled, furious with Y/n for having stepped over that line. How could she speak about his life so carelessly?
“We’ll take the first two shifts,” Tess stated, leaving no room for argument, “But we get our answers first thing.”
Y/n gave a single nod, picked up her backpack and motioned for Ellie to come with. In the middle of the building, there was a patch of grass that could act as a bed. Y/n sat down and pulled out her sweater, balling it up and laying her head atop it.
“Are you sure they won’t kill us?” Ellie asked quietly, she followed Y/n’s actions and crumpled up her jacket.
“Positive,” Y/n said as she shut her eyes. Joel may have been reckless with her life, but he’d sooner die than let anything happen to Tommy.
Ellie curled up a few inches away from Y/n. It was funny what life-or-death circumstances could do to people. Y/n was the only person Ellie had taken to out of the Fireflies, but now, with Tess and Joel as her other options for comfort, she was her new favorite person. Ellie turned on her side to face the woman, the only person she could count on to protect her…
—————————
Sunlight across Y/n eyes woke her up. She stretched out her legs and yawned, spotting a sleeping Ellie at her side. She’d never gotten woken up for her turn to keep watch, but that had been expected. It didn’t take a genius to guess what was waiting in front of her.
Sure enough, Joel had his rifle pointed straight at her chest.
“You’re getting predictable,” Y/n remarked, rubbing one of her eyes.
Ellie woke soon after, sitting up and finding the same sight.
“Morning,” she said. The second she moved, Joel’s gun followed her. Y/n immediately pulled her gun off of her belt and pointed it at her ex.
“Do I look like I’m infected?” Ellie asked.
“Show us your arm,” Joel demanded.
Ellie rolled up her sleeve and showcased the scarred bite. Tess and Joel leaned forward to examine it, which was hard to do with half a room between them.
“Yeah, it’s not getting any worse, is it?” Ellie said impatiently, “If we’re out in the open city, why aren’t we getting swarmed?”
“Don’t worry about that,” Joel ignored her concern.
“Well, I’m gonna,” the girl replied.
“What was Marlene doing with an infected kid?” Tess switched lanes.
Ellie shook her head, “I’m not infected.”
Tess and Joel gave a deadpan stare, Y/n rolled her eyes. It wasn’t like it was a fucking fairytale they were asking them to believe. There was proof right in from of them.
“She found me after I was bitten,” Ellie continued.
“And she didn’t shoot you,” Joel put another piece of the puzzle together.
“Clearly not. She locked me up and had her guys,” Ellie glanced over to Y/n, “Test me every day to see if I was getting sick.”
“Test you how?” Tess asked.
Ellie sighed, “I have to pee.”
Nobody cared. “Test you…how?”
“They’d make me count to ten and hold my hand out and then keep it steady,” Ellie answered, “But, you know, I think what really impressed them was that I didn’t turn into a fucking monster. Now can I please?”
As Ellie stood up, Joel rose with her, and so did Y/n. Betrayal and loyalty mixed between them like oil and water. Ellie held her hands up, caught in the middle of it.
“Fine,” Tess relented, “Back there, you can find a spot. And here,” she tossed a magazine Ellie’s way, “Tear out a few pages.”
Ellie glanced between Y/n and Joel, checking to make sure there wasn’t about to be a shootout, and headed back. “There’s not gonna be anything bad in here?”
“Just you,” Joel answered.
“Oh, funny,” Ellie said before disappearing.
With her gone, Joel and Y/n really had no reason to still be aiming at one another. At the same time, they cautiously lowered their weapons. Despite whatever tragic nostalgia they’d indulged in the night before, they’d gone back to hate, as if their memories had been a symptom of some bad hangover. It was all forgotten in the light of day.
Joel sat back down with Tess, letting his unflinching stare rest on Y/n. Y/n had seen enough of that scowl to not be intimidated by it. Eventually, when nothing more could be said, his eyes dropped to examine his hand. The pain had set in overnight and he couldn’t keep it from shaking.
“Broken,” Tess stated, sitting down next to him.
“Maybe a hairline,” he replied, never looking at her, “It’ll heal fast.”
“Okay,” Y/n muttered, clapping her hands together, “You keep thinkin’ positive, I’m gonna go take a piss.”
She marched over the small hill of grass and knocked on the door frame of Ellie’s makeshift bathroom. “Me,” she announced.
“Don’t fuckin’ look,” Ellie said quickly from somewhere in the room.
“I’m not,” Y/n replied, staring at the ceiling as she wandered, “Just tell me where to go.”
“Left a little,” the girl instructed, “Straight. There you go.”
Y/n unbuckled her pants and squatted, “Throw me the book?”
Ellie tossed the papers her way, they awkwardly went on with their business in silence.
As much as Y/n hated to let Joel have any sort of win over her, if they were going to convince him and Tess to help them to the State House, he was going to need more information.
“You’re gonna have to tell them,” she told Ellie, “About out West.”
Ellie was finished and standing on the other side of Y/n, “I thought I wasn’t supposed to tell anyone.”
“Yeah, well,” Y/n sighed, “They’re not gonna believe you unless you do. Marlene would say the same thing.”
“What about you?” Ellie asked, “Would they believe you?”
Y/n bitterly chuckled, the memories that once had stingers now couldn’t penetrate her thick skin. “No, they won’t believe me. You’re our only shot.”
Outside, Joel and Tess were discussing the sudden plot twist.
“She made it through the fuckin’ night, Joel,” Tess urged, her voice dripping with hope.
“It doesn’t matter,” Joel argued, “It’s gonna happen sooner or later. Alright? We’re still close to the Wall, we sneak ‘em back into the QZ. We find a different way to get the battery.”
“What about her?” Tess asked, there was no need to specify which one she was referring to, “You don’t believe her?”
“I don’t trust a fuckin’ word that comes out of her mouth,” Joel answered harshly, the past nipping at his heels, “She’s lied before and she’ll do it again.”
Tess had something unique going for her: she didn’t share history with Joel and Y/n. She saw through all their bullshit objectively. “This is our best shot,” she said, “We take ‘em back to the QZ, someone’s gonna notice her arm, they’ll scan her, then they’ll kill her.”
Joel wasted a heartlessly little amount of time with his reply, “Well, better her than us. You need to stop talkin’ about this kid like she’s got some kind of life in front of her.”
He didn’t know it, but he should have felt grateful that Y/n couldn’t hear his comment over the ripping of magazine pages. She would have shot him then and there.
Ellie and Y/n walked out, Ellie tossing the magazine back at Tess and Y/n keeping close watch as she took her seat.
“You hungry?” Tess offered to Ellie, “You can share some of ours.”
“Thanks,” Ellie replied, “Marlene sent me with my own.”
If Y/n wanted to feel like she was beating Joel in something, breakfast gave her the win. While he picked at a piece of jerky with his fractured hand, she and Ellie worked on their oversized sandwiches. Petty? Perhaps. But Y/n felt entitled to whatever form her hatred wanted to take.
“Is that chicken?” Tess finally asked.
Ellie nodded, “Yeah. Marlene and Y/n say they get it from smugglers. Guess not you guys.”
For whatever reason, even though she’d attacked her, Y/n was starting to feel empathy for Tess. She was the only one semi-amenable to Ellie’s situation. Against her instincts and more in line with her heart, she ripped the rest of her sandwich in half and walked it over to Tess, who looked up appreciatively. On her way back, she made a point of passing by Joel.
Tess stood up and approached Y/n and Ellie, setting Joel off. “Hey. Hey!”
“Why-“ Tess started, throwing a hand up to Joel to stay put, “Why is she so important to you and Marlene? And don’t lie to me or we’ll take you both back.”
“You take us back,” Ellie answered for Y/n, “You don’t get your battery.”
“You heard that?” Tess scoffed, “Well, then you must’ve heard that he wants to shoot you.”
Y/n wanted her heart to break at the comment, but when she looked into Joel’s eyes, she saw nothing. Nothing.
“He also knows he dies if he does that,” Y/n retorted, staring down the man like she could burn a hole through him by sheer force of will.
Tess kneeled down in front of Ellie, “I’m gonna talk to you like you’re an adult, okay? Joel and I aren’t good people. We’re doin’ this for us because, apparently, you’re worth something. But we don’t know what you’re worth if we don’t know what we have. So answer my question.”
Y/n and Joel saw none of the conversation, their eyes were locked on one another like bulls locking horns.
Ellie, however, took Y/n’s advice. “There’s a Firefly base camp somewhere out west,” she confessed, “With doctors. They’re working on a cure.”
Absurdity won and Joel broke his stare first, “Mm-hm, I’ve heard this before.”
“And whatever happened to me,” Ellie continued, “Is the key.”
“Is the key to finding the vaccine,” Joel’s voice overlapped with hers, turning to Tess, “That’s what this is? We’ve heard this a million times. Vaccines, miracle cures. None of it works. Ever.”
“This time it’s different,” Y/n argued.
Ellie stood up, “Fuck you, man. I didn’t ask for this.”
“You and me both,” Joel retorted, “This isn’t gonna end well, Tess. We need to go back.”
“Oh, yes,” Y/n smiled a joyless smile, “Once again, Joel Miller’s making decisions for everyone. What a comfort.”
It was the first time she’d said his name in twenty years and it was doused in venom. It should have hurt.
Tess got to her feet and came to Joel, “Let’s just finish it. It doesn’t matter if she is or isn’t what the Fireflies say she is. If they believe that she is, then…we get what we want.”
Joel faced two realities; one in which Y/n’s words from the night before came true and his brother died because of his stubbornness, and one in which he risked his life for a group of radicals running on hope that would never come to fruition.
He sighed, “If she so much as twitches…”
Ellie began to choke and snarl, flailing her hands like one of the infected. It pressed all their buttons.
“Don’t,” Tess and Y/n said in synchronization.
Ellie stopped, nervously rubbing her neck, “Yeah, okay…”
“Okay?” Tess asked her partner.
Joel glanced between Y/n and Ellie, then sighed. “Okay.”
Without another word, Tess, Joel and Y/n began packing up their gear. Ellie followed their lead, spotting Joel’s rifle. “Can I have a gun?”
“Absolutely not,” Joel replied.
“No,” Tess said.
“Not happening,” Y/n finished.
“Okay, fine,” Ellie’s voice went higher, “I’ll have to throw a fuckin’ sandwich at them.”
Joel pushed the bookcase he’d used to barricade the door aside and peeked out the door. “It’s clear,” he reported.
Y/n walked ahead of Ellie and let the sun hit her. Boston had been cold lately and the warmth was a treat.
“Whoa,” Ellie whispered behind her, she’d never seen or felt the freedom being outside the Wall brought.
“Yeah, looks different in the daylight huh?” Tess said with an almost smile.
There was beauty interlaced with the destruction. Vines twined around crumbling buildings. Grass growing around deserted cars. People theorized the apocalypse would look like blood and destruction, but survival wasn’t so black and white.
“We should get movin’,” Joel said, breaking Y/n from the first near-pleasent thought she’d had all morning.
The four of them walked through the city in a row, Ellie tried to keep pace while also taking in her surroundings.
“It’s like a fucked up moon,” she observed, wandering to look at one of the explosion sites, “Is this where they bombed?”
“Yeah,” Tess answered, “They hit most of the big cities like this.”
Maybe Tess could talk about it with some degree of separation, but Y/n and Joel kept painfully silent. They’d seen the destruction and didn’t want to deal with Ellie’s marveling at it. As Tess stopped to explain history to the girl, they kept moving.
They all came to a pause when they saw their route blocked by the remnants of a building.
“So, the State House is across there,” Tess said, “It’s about a ten minute walk if you could go straight.”
“So?” Ellie questioned.
“Long way or short way?” Joel asked.
“I mean, it’s the long way or the “we’re fuckin’ dead” way,” Tess replied.
“Well, I vote long way, based on that limited amount of information,” Ellie spoke up, “Y/n?”
Y/n inhaled to give her opinion when Joel spoke up. “We should check it from the hotel first.”
“That hand’s not broken yet,” Y/n recalled, “I’d be happy to remedy that.”
“Okay,” Tess said, breaking up the fight and taking the first steps. For two people who had survived twenty years in an infectious wasteland using nothing but their survival skills, Y/n and Joel brought out the child in each other. Once upon a time, that had been a good thing. Now, each petty comment felt like throwing a plastic knife and expecting it to kill.
———————————
They’d been walking an hour when they got to the interstate. Tess and Ellie were at the front, while Y/n and Joel were moving slower and bringing up the rear.
The curse of knowing someone so well is that even if you despised them, there was still safety in being around them. Y/n still wanted to throttle Joel and he didn’t want to be in a hundred mile radius of her. But it was better to be in the company of an enemy you knew rather than one you didn’t. Hatred couldn’t one-up their history.
“What did Marlene mean when she said you weren’t ready?” Joel eventually inquired.
“None of your business,” Y/n grunted as she stepped over a stray tire.
“It is if you’re gonna be a liability,” Joel replied.
Y/n scoffed, “Marlene says a lot of things. She’s not always right.”
While it was true, Joel had been more than surprised that Y/n had raised her gun so effortlessly at him, he could read in between the lines. Y/n had never had good followthrough. The Cordyceps had forced them all to adapt, but he sincerely doubted she could take a necessary shot.
“Stop doing that,” Y/n snapped.
“Doing what?”
“Stop thinking you’ve got me figured out,” Y/n sneered, “You have no fucking idea who I am anymore.”
Joel simply scoffed, that was only a half truth.
“Okay, Cowboy Joe,” Y/n remarked, the nickname earning a glare, “I don’t remember you being so quick with the murder,” Y/n decided to hit a little harder, “Or the drugs. Or the smuggling.”
Joel threw his arm out in front of Y/n to stop her, “Would you have rather I let him shoot us?”
Y/n inched her face closer to Joel’s, “I’d rather you fucking forget that we ever knew each other, cause this,” she gestured between them, “Hasn’t mattered for twenty years. We do this, and then you can go back to dealing pills and shoveling shit,” she trembled with anger and lowered her voice, “And we will never, ever have to see each other again.”
Joel thinned the close proximity even more, the last time they’d been this close had been under much different circumstances. “It’s forgotten,” he growled.
“Good,” Y/n whispered, her lips pursed as she turned on her heel and marched off.
Denial was a hell of a thing, but forgetting what they’d meant to each other was going to take something much stronger…
“Everyone said the open city was crazy,” Ellie mused as Y/n and Joel caught up, “Like, swarms of Infected, running around everywhere.”
“Not exactly like that,” Joel commented.
“People who’ve never seen outside like to make up a lot of shit,” Y/n added.
“So there aren’t Super-Infected that explode fungus spores at you?” Ellie asked.
“Shit, I hope not,” Tess answered, at least she had a sense of humor about all this.
“Or ones with split-open heads,” Ellie continued to earn her education, “That see in the dark like bats?”
The adults fell silent, Tess and Joel shared a look before she glanced at Y/n. Between the three of them, they’d seen the full spectrum of the abilities Infected possessed.
Like a sick joke, a distant yell echoed through the open highway. There was nothing in sight and it was impossible to tell where it had come from.
“What was that?” Ellie asked.
Joel tensed up, “Let’s keep movin’.”
————————
Once they got to the hotel, they had to get in to the hotel.
Joel shoved open the once-automatic doors and they walked in. The place had flooded, the waters that filled the lobby a mossy green shade.
“You’ve gotta be kidding me,” Ellie exclaimed, her eyes widening as she took it all in, “You ever stay in a place like this?
“Uh, no,” Tess answered, “A little out of our league.”
“Once,” Y/n followed, “School trip to Pennsylvania.”
“How do you even know what this is?” Joel asked.
“Have you ever heard of books?” Ellie shot back.
Joel stepped down into the water, letting the sass float past him.
Ellie suddenly became hesitant, “Wait, are we going in there?”
“Yeah, we gotta get to the stairwell on the other side,” Tess replied.
“Well, I, I don’t know how to swim,” Ellie said, nervous.
Joel watched, unimpressed, from the lobby steps. “Seriously?”
“Do you think we have pools in the QZ?” Ellie retorted.
“No, smart ass. I mean,” Joel threw a leg out and hopped off the last step. The water barely hit his thighs.
“I don’t know how I was supposed to know that,” Ellie mumbled, treading into the waters with Y/n behind her.
Joel and Y/n’s argument on the highway had left her quiet. She’d been forced to change to survive the new way of life, but the memories Joel’s mere presence brought up reminded her of who she used to be. How care free, how light, how enthusiastic she’d been…she’d taken a job at a hardware store just because she liked getting to talk to people. Her old self had just become another person to mourn.
She snapped back to reality, she refused to let Joel Miller, of all people, make her fee bad about who she was.
“Hey,” Tess spoke softly, “She’s a good kid.”
Y/n glanced up at Ellie, who was wading through the water to get to the check-in desk. She enthusiastically rang the bell, “Ding! Ding!”
“Yeah,” Y/n bit back a smile, “She is.”
“Yes, sir,” Ellie played, “I would like your finest suite please,” she deepened her voice, “Yes, ma’am. Would you like me to take your luggage? Yes, ma’am,” she took hold of the luggage cart, “Right away, ma’am.”
Joel, who had lost his sense of humor over a decade ago, was done with Ellie’s excitement. “You’re a weird kid,” he remarked.
“You’re a weird kid,” Ellie repeated, a body falling out from behind the cart, “Oh, fuck me!”
Joel and Y/n had their guns drawn and were rushing over. The two of them examined what turned out to be a skeleton. Joel nudged its skull sideways with his boot, like there was a chance it was still alive and kicking.
“Uh, sorry,” Ellie nervously smiled.
Joel extended a hand to pull her up, retracting it as soon as she was on her feet. He caught Y/n rolling her eyes at him as they walked off. At this point, she was convinced he was acting like an asshole purely because he could.
The group climbed the four flights of stairs, the adults huffing and puffing while Ellie stayed as unbothered as ever.
“Fuck, holy shit,” Tess panted.
“Come on, it wasn’t that bad,” Ellie remarked.
“You try climbing ten fuckin’ floors with our knees,” Tess replied, “See how you feel.”
Y/n and Tess drifted and fell back in line with their assigned partners. While Y/n was glad Ellie and Tess had found camaraderie, she was selfish enough to not want it to come at the expense of being stuck with Joel.
They came up on what should have been their walkway, but it was blocked by a barricade of bricks and cinderblock. Joel and Tess tried the doors on each side of them, no luck.
“All right,” Tess calculated their options, “Well, I mean, maybe I could climb up there. Work my way around and open it from the outside?”
Ellie stepped forward, “Uh, no, well, I’m the smallest, so it’d be easier for me to get through.”
Y/n was quick to grab Ellie’s backpack handle, “Yeah, that’s not happening. We know what’s out there, you don’t.”
That caught Joel’s attention. When had she been sneaking out of the QZ?
“Can you give me a hand?” Tess asked of her partner.
Y/n pulled Ellie back before Joel could move her out of the way. He helped Tess up and stepped back. “You good up there?”
“Yeah, it’s a bit of a mess,” Tess reported, “So I’m gonna need a few minutes.”
It turned out, removing Tess was like removing a safety barrier for them all. Joel and Y/n sat on opposite sides of the hall, trying to keep as much space between them as possible. Ellie pulled out her pocketknife and started casually flipping it.
“Nice knife,” Joel said, trying to be cordial. Y/n was getting whiplash from his mood swings. “Where’d you learn to do that?”
Ellie didn’t flinch in her retort, “The circus.”
Joel sighed, looking away from both of them. This was him trying to be somewhat friendly, though it still came off as being put out.
Ellie, on the other hand, was better at small talk. “Where are you from?”
“Texas,” Joel answered.
“Y/n said she knew your brother,” Ellie replied, “So you all lived in Texas?”
Y/n took a breath, Joel watched her. “That’s right,” he said.
“What about Tess?” Ellie asked.
“Detroit,” Joel answered, “It’s in Michigan.”
“I go to school,” Ellie shot back quickly, “I know where Detroit is.”
Silence fell again over the threesome, eagerly awaiting Tess’ return.
“So,” Ellie started talking again, “Are you two, like, a-“
“Pass,” Joel cut her off.
“How’d you end up in Boston?” Ellie pushed, it was becoming a game for her.
“Pass,” Joel answered, “No more questions about me.”
Clever as ever, Ellie found a work around. “Okay,” she turned to Y/n, “Were you and him a-“
“Nope,” Y/n said quickly, it was more a denial of an answer than an answer itself.
Ellie sighed, trying to think up something else. “How long do Infected live?”
Joel mockingly shook his head, “Oh, I thought you went to school.”
“It’s a really shitty one,” Ellie replied.
Joel smirked, he could appreciate the girl’s wit under different circumstances. It rivaled his own. “Well, some last about a month or two,” he answered, “But there’s other’s been walkin’ around ‘bout twenty years.”
“Ever kill one?” Ellie asked, still fiddling with her knife.
“Yeah, I killed lots of ‘em.”
Y/n stiffened, hoping if she stood still, the conversation would move right past her.
“Was it hard?” Ellie continued, “Like, knowing they were people once?”
It took all the strength Y/n still possessed to not let her emotions show. To not let the nightmares take her over. She didn’t have time for them.
No matter how hard they argued that they were strangers, Joel could sense her discomfort. Her experiences with Infected were one more thing he didn’t know about her now.
“Sometimes,” he said, watching Y/n as her eyes stayed closed in concentration.
“What about that guy last night?” Ellie kept going.
A well-timed thump excused Joel from answering, him and Y/n jumped to attention.
“You can put the gun down, Joel,” Tess grunted through the wall, straining to open one of the locked doors.
“Where to?” Y/n asked.
Tess’ grim expression led them out to the hotel’s balcony, she pulled back the vinyl curtain and let them walk out onto the terrace. Ellie gained traction on the ledge’s decor and climbed to the edge. Joel and Y/n ended up on each other’s side.
Y/n’s stomach dropped at the sight beneath her.
Dozens upon dozens upon dozens of Infected lay fifty feet below them in a heap. Their sickening shrieks bounced off the buildings as they crawled and thrashed aimlessly.
“There’s so many,” Ellie gasped.
“The last time we were here,” Tess said, “They were still deep inside the buildings. Then I guess enough people came through looking for the QZ, they went inside seeking shelter…and that’s how they get more and more of the city, bit by bit, every year.”
Y/n watched through dead eyes as the horde began to move as one. She hadn’t seen this many in a long time, long enough for the sight to feel fresh. She stopped listening to Ellie and Tess’s conversation and focused on her breathing to battle the nausea, in through the nose, out through the mouth…
Joel saw it all, and he knew better than to ask. Marlene was right; she wasn’t able to handle the journey on her own.
“So we’re not going that way,” were the first words Y/n could hear again.
“No,” Tess answered Ellie.
“What do we do then?” Ellie asked, her eyes widened with fear, “Short way?”
Tess and Joel shared a look, his hands fidgeted as he thought through their route. “Museum.”

The pounding at your door nearly startled the wrapped gift from your hand.
“Be right there!” You shouted and carefully tucked the card beneath crossed ribbon.
With a huff, you made your way to the door. It was a challenge nowadays, hobbling on one foot, bracing yourself on the back of your couch and the buffet near the front door. The staircase was by-far the worst of it, especially when you were still on crutches.
The pounding continued, a bit incessant and impatient, and you groaned. “Hold on! I’m in a boot!”
The little cover over your peephole swung beneath your fingertips, and you strained to see your partner. His broad shoulders took up most of the frame, and his hair wagged as he checked both sides of your hallway.
You unlocked the deadbolt and inched the door open. “Steve?”
“Les Joplin is dead.” Worry creased his brow.
You sighed and hobbled aside to let him in. Owens had called you with the bad news this morning. It was just a part of the gig. You can’t save everyone. You noticed Steve took these things harder than you’d been trained to.
Steve barreled past you, and until you saw the look of curiosity cross his features, you’d forgotten he’d never been to your apartment before. Suddenly, you felt self-conscious about the lace trimmed window treatments your mom had set up and the Pig-shaped cookie jar on the countertop. His fingertips grazed the couch upholstery and he took in your massive entertainment shelves before turning to size you up.
“I’m sorry, were you going somewhere?”
You tugged your cardigan a little closer, hem of your dress brushing your knee over your hideous boot. “It is our day off.”
He nodded, and you took a moment to survey his own outfit. An oversized sweater was emblazoned with red, white, and blue embroidery. Navy blue shorts barely covered the breadth of his hairy thighs. The way his hair stuck to his temples denoted he’d been out on a Sunday morning jog.
“How’d you find out about Les?” You asked, hobbling back to the kitchen to pour him a glass of water.
Steve met you there, tutting about your bum leg as he reached over your head for a glass from the cabinet to fill for himself. “Owens left me a voicemail.”
You watched the steady rise and fall of his Adam’s apple as he drank. A droplet fell from the corner of his lips and slid down the length of his jaw until he reached to wipe it up.
“Joplin makes six in six months.” He frowned, turning the faucet on to rinse.
You frowned, nodded. It was true, nearly all of the people you’d managed to life-flight out of Hell seemed to have died through some infection or surgical complications.
“Joplin had a broken leg.” Steve tapped at your boot with his toe. “You’re still alive.”
You rolled your eyes. “He’d also been exposed to the elements for two days before we reached him. Vines had wrapped themselves around him. He could have been infected with the Blight and we just didn’t know.”
“He was coherent!” Steve argued, running a hand through his hair. “You don’t find any of this fishy?”
The vulnerability in his gaze was rare, a softness that kicked something up within you, reminded you that this grumpy exterior cared and had compassion.
You chewed on your bottom lip and shrugged. “What do you want to do about it?”
His shoulders seem to relax a little, and he leaned against your counter, crossing his ankles over one another. “I have someone looking into the autopsy of the Garcia brothers.”
You swallowed, remembering the smiling faces of the two boys as they held each other’s hand in the back of the ambulance. They’d died hours after pick-up. You shook your head. “They were cremated, remember? We can’t exhume any bodies.”
Steve nodded. “I know. They’ve all been cremated. Les is being torched as we speak.”
“Steve,” you groaned at his crudity, imaging the frail man with kind eyes being locked in an incinerator.
“Like I said, someone’s looking into it. I’m meeting them tonight.”
You broached your next question with caution. “Have you… spoken to Owens about this?”
Steve watched you, like a caged animal deciding whether or not it could trust the hand that feeds it.
You understood the roots of his mistrust. You barely knew what he’d gone through, how complicated his tangles were with these government entities, but what little you did know seemed reason enough to question everything.
He cleared his throat, shook his head. “No, I want to have more solid evidence before I bring it to his attention.”
You nodded and opened your mouth to commend him when the antique cuckoo clock on your wall chimed 11. “Shit!”
Steve leapt back onto his feet, just as startled as you, and he side-stepped you as you grappled for the gift and wine bottle on the counter behind him.
“Steve, I’m so sorry, but I’m late.” You said as you hobbled to your denim jacket and purse hanging near the front door.
“You’re not driving, right?” He frowned.
You cursed again, reaching into your purse to procure your cell phone.
“Who are you calling?”
“A cab,” you argued, shoving him out your door with full hands. The phone rang, wedged between your cheek and shoulder, and you fumbled in your bag for some keys. “Hold these,” you dumped the gifts into his outstretched hands.
“Hang up. I’ll drive you.” He sighed.
“Capital Cab Company, how can we help you today?”
“What?” You struggled with the key in the lock, and gaped at your partner when he gently removed your phone from your ear and ended the call.
“Let me drive you.”
A jagged scar sliced through toned and tanned thigh meat, deep, purple, fresh enough to thrust you back into that cold cave. You taste his blood in the air, feel his pulse slow against your chest.
“So at what point were you going to tell me your partner was this scrumptious?” Your childhood best friend’s voice shook you back to reality.
Steve stood about a hundred feet away, thighs at eye-level and on-show in those tiny running shorts. His white tube socks were stained with flecks of mud and grass. He hugged one hand into his armpit, the other held a beer he’d barely drank since you all stepped into the backyard an hour earlier.
“Or was that confidential information?” Sadie snickered, poking at your side.
You shushed her with a waved hand, trying not to let her see the way you warmed at the idea. You leaned forward in your lawn chair for another handful of potato chips from the card table teetering in front of you. “He is not… scrumptious.”
Steve Harrington wasn’t a hunk. You’d seen him with toothpaste stuck to the corner of his mouth and dribbled down his sleep shirt. You watched him trip over his own shoelaces once.
Sure, he took great care of his body. It was kind of in the job description. Neither of you could climb mountains or fight monsters if you’d let yourself go. And yeah, he possessed handsome features. He had a nice hairline and thick, full hair, rare for a man his age. The handful of times you’d seen his stubble grow in hadn’t made him look haggard.
You could admit there was a kindness in his eyes too, saved for incredibly special occasions.
“I honestly don’t know how you get any work done,” Michelle agreed, pouring herself another glass from the wine bottle you’d brought.
“I’d be taking every opportunity to climb him like a tree.” Tammie played with the pendant on her necklace, perched on her chair like she was waiting for him to look her direction.
You coughed, salty chip wedged somewhere in your esophagus.
Sadie saw your struggle and laughed, slipping your wine glass into a salty hand for relief.
“So tell us,” Rhonda leaned in, covering her mouth with her hand, “have you two ever…?” She waggled her eyebrows.
You sputtered wine back into your glass, and Sadie threw her head back in delight.
You wiped the dribble from your chin and glared at your best friend. “Is this why you invited him in? So you and the girls could torment me?”
“Oh Pigeon, don’t be so dramatic,” Sadie pinched the flab under your arm and grinned. “I invited him in because I wanted to stare at those thighs. Think he’ll play volleyball if we put the net up?”
“Your husband is right there.” You gestured to poor, sweet Jeff, receding hairline and beer gut stretching his cotton polo. He drank his beer and flipped burgers and stared at Steve like he was just at smitten as his wife.
“He can join,” Sadie shrugged.
This sent the other women in a fit of giggles and hoots.
Steve met your gaze. Someone behind you must have waggled their fingers, because the corners of his lips quirked into a confused smile, and he extended a timid wave.
You chewed on your cheeks to avoid laughing with them.
“I know we’ve been talking about those legs, but have you seen the size of his hands?” Tammie whispered into her wine glass.
“Oh I know, I’d like him to - “
“Alright,” you hoisted yourself from your lawn chair and hobbled away from the cackling women. The grass wasn’t ideal for your wobbly boot, but anywhere was better than the warmth radiating from your collar and the call of your best friend for you to return.
Halfway across the yard, you stumbled on a rogue gopher hole, wine splashing from your glass and all over the front of the man who was conveniently there to catch you. Two large hands held you upright at your ribs.
“Why is it difficult for you to just sit and stay there?” Steve asked, chin and throat glistening with white wine. It soaked the top half of his sweatshirt.
Before you could apologize, the crew was on you, a flurry of mom’s pinching and doting, patting you both with paper towels.
Steve waved them off so he could limp you back to your seat, pointing a warning finger your direction. “Stay there.”
“Steve, honey, let me throw that in the wash for you. I’m sure Jeff has something you can borrow.” Sadie shot you a salacious look before beckoning your partner in through the sliding glass door at the back of her house.
“Think they need help?” Rhonda snorted, and the rest of them started to holler again.
A summer thunderstorm forced the party indoors. Husbands toted drunk wives out the front door. The kids were hauled into the basement with popsicles and VHS rentals. Only a handful of party-goers remained, indulging in quiet conversation around Sadie’s immaculately floral living room. Her favorite record spun in the corner.
“I’m worried about you, Pigeon,” she tapped at your knee above your boot and offered a glass of water.
You accepted it and shrugged. “Hazards of the job. I survived, didn’t I?” You kneed her back.
She glanced around the room before she lowered her voice. “When Steve changed earlier, I saw those… scars. What exactly are you two fighting out there?” Her eyes were wide, full of worry, of fear.
You felt it, too, sometimes. You thought about her a lot, about a life in a perfect suburban home with a picket fence. You wondered if you’d ever achieve that, too.
“Steve went through a lot before we recruited him.” It was the only explanation you could manage.
You glanced at your partner. He stood in the kitchen, arms crossed over a too-small polo of Jeff’s in a horrid khaki green that still, somehow suited him. You wondered if he’d ever wanted the American Dream. You could imagine him hunched beneath a kitchen sink or flipping burgers outside. You could imagine him coming home after a long day’s work, dumping his briefcase in the hall closet, smelling the air for a home-cooked dinner. You imagined kids and a dog running to greet him.
“I just need you to be careful,” Sadie warned.
You blinked back into focus, and turned to see the look in her eye had changed.
She nodded toward the kitchen, a knowing smirk playing at full lips.
“Sadie, thank you so much for inviting me. Are you sure it’s alright if Wyatt stays here tonight?” A voice from behind you pulled your best friend from her seat on the couch.
“Michelle, of course! Wyatt’s welcome anytime. Just call if you can’t pick him up tomorrow, I’ll have Jeff drive him home.” Sadie kissed her acquaintance on the cheek, bangles on her wrists jingling.
Michelle said your name, reaching out to squeeze your shoulder. “It was really good to see you again.”
“Yeah,” you smiled. “You, too.”
She turned from you both and took a few steps before pausing and turning back to face you. “Okay, I know this is going to sound a bit… I dunno.” She waved off her words, insecurity oozing from a typically-poised frame.
Michelle was such a sweet woman, confident, beautiful. She worked with Jeff in radio advertising. She was a single mom. You’d never seen a hair of hers out of place, nor a pearled button.
You glanced at Sadie, whose demeanor had gone rigid beside you.
“I just um… is there anything going on between you and Steve?”
You blinked back at her, your mouth going a little dry.
“I only ask because he and I had a really nice conversation earlier, and I wanted to give him my number, but I obviously would never step on your toes. I think the world of you. Also like, if it’d be weird at all, that’s totally understandable.” She was rambling now, her pale features tinged a bright red.
Sadie was holding her breath beside you.
You blinked a few more times, processing the word vomit, and eventually your head shook itself. “No. Nope, no, huh uh. No. Um… no.” For God sake, anything else, say anything else.
Sadie elbowed you.
You laughed. “Sorry, just um… Steve? Harrington?”
Michelle ducked her head and smiled, tucking a black curl behind her ear. “Yeah. Is that okay?”
“Chyeah, of course it is. That’s great, Michelle! That’s really great! I’ll put in a good word for you.” The words came out of you like they were flowing from someone else’s mouth. You felt paralyzed in your seat. Sadie’s claws were digging into the meat of your thigh.
“Oh really? Oh that’d be amazing. Thanks so much. Well, wish me luck, I guess, then…” She let out a little eep like a school girl and waggled her fingers your direction before she turned to make a b-line to the kitchen.
“You’ll put in a good word?”
“Shut up,” you hissed, smacking your friend’s hand away.
Steve stood up straight at Michelle’s approach, that stiff kindness meeting his eyes. He struck you a bit like Frankenstein’s monster, a man learning to be human again, movements stilted and face stuck in a scowl.
Michelle took something from her purse and placed it into his large hand, her own fingers lingering softly against his.
His throat turned a bit pink, and his ears, and it looked like he was fighting off a smile like it might hurt him. He nodded and said something back, and they ended their exchange with an awkward half-hug. Her curls caught on the bridge of his nose, his lashes. He met your gaze from across the room.
Then he jumped, apologized as the distinct bell of his cell phone chimed in his pocket.
Michelle left with one last excited wave to you girls, but you were already snapping your fingers for Sadie to grab you your purse from the coffee table.
You dug for your phone, but by the time you flipped it open and dialed into voicemail, Steve was walking your direction.
“Sadie, mind if I grab my sweatshirt?” He shot you a look and said, “We have to go.”
The rain thunked heavy on Steve’s windshield, wipers pulsing at a steady rhythm. The warmth of a far-off streetlamp cast reds and yellows across his silhouette and splashed across a bare kneecap.
You sat in a park parking lot. A swing set swayed in the wind a hundred or so yards to your left. A large hill jetted upwards at your center. Trees scattered the area.
Steve’s car idled. The heater puffed warmth that smelled of leather and him, and the faintest sweet of white wine that Sadie’s natural detergent hadn’t managed to squeeze out of his sweatshirt.
“Where are we?” You asked, glancing around the empty lot.
The sun had dipped west an hour ago, just as you reversed out of Sadie’s driveway beside Jeff’s station wagon.
“I don’t know,” Steve grumbled. His leg bounced, shaking the entire car with nervous energy.
You had half a mind to slow his movements, the heat and the sway churning your motion-sick stomach, but the idea of clamping down on his muscled and hairy thigh had you thinking of the girls at the barbecue. You imagined each of them in the backseat of his car, oohing and chanting for you to quit being a baby and just do it.
So you sucked your cheeks between your teeth and stared directly ahead at the beading water on the windshield.
“So…” You breathed. “What did you think of Michelle?”
“Who?” Steve stopped his quake.
You sighed and looked back at him. “Michelle, from the party? Black hair, freckles, drop-dead gorgeous. She gave you her number at the end of the night?”
“Oh right,” he said, like that was the only indication he’d met this woman.
You blinked back at him, waiting for more elaboration. You should have known better. With another deep breath, you pushed a little further. “She wanted me to put in a good word.”
“Okay,” and now he waited expectedly.
“What?” You frowned.
“Tell me something good about her.”
For the life of you, all you could muster was, “She’s a really good mom?”
Steve snorted, though his expression remained unamused. “Great, I’ll ask her to cut the crust off my sandwiches.”
“No, that’s not…” You huffed, adjusting your sweating back against the leather seat. You grumbled and flicked off the heat, suddenly feeling the space around you void of air.
You sat in silence for a moment, trying to organize your thoughts, frustrated that the only image coming to mind was Michelle’s perfectly manicured nails clinging to Jeff’s polo collar. Steve’s hands held her close, sliding down to the seat of her jeans.
Steve cleared his throat, and you blinked back to reality.
“I’m sure I can think of nicer things to say,” you managed to squeak out.
“I’m not going to date Michelle,” Steve spoke low and slow beside you, his voice warming you more than the heater had.
You glanced up at him, strong jaw and defined nose cut through warm lamplight. You pondered his tone, wondered how final it had felt, how far you could press. Maybe it’d be best to leave it there.
“This job doesn’t lend well to… a life.” His voice startled you again, information given before it was asked.
You didn’t dare respond, lips sealed, breath held.
He scratched at the stubble overgrown on his chin. “Doesn’t feel fair to get someone’s hopes up when I could be killed the next day.”
His name fell from your lips in a sigh, and he caught you gaze, lips quirked upward in a wry smile as he waved his words from the space between you.
“That’s just me though. I’m not like… putting that on you. Date a bunch of guys, if you want! Or one guy! Or one gal. I don’t care, I just um…” He coughed into his hand.
You snorted and glanced back out the windshield at the lamplight and the rain.
A shadow moved straight ahead, emerging from the hill top, bowed shoulders and a wide-brimmed hat.
“Steve,” you nodded, reaching your hand into your bag for your concealed weapon.
He adjusted himself upright, his own hand stopping your wrist.
“Is that your guy?” You asked, heart thundering a little louder in your ear.
“I hope so,” he answered, and you both just waited.
The figure seemed to sway down the hillside, walking at too slow a pace, darting through the tree line to be covered in shadow when he could. Finally, as he stepped into the warmth of lamplight and tilted his head to expose round cheeks, Steve released your wrist and dropped his shoulders in relief.
The door creaked and the pitter of rain against the asphalt deafened you for a moment as Steve stepped out to scold the contact. Both men spoke in hushed tones, gesturing wildly to you before admitting defeat and retreating to the safety of the car’s interior. The whole vehicle shook under their combined weight, and they brought with them the sweet smell of ozone.
You eyed Steve, tendrils of his hair dripping onto scruffy cheekbones.
He grimaced and pushed his hair from his eyes, gesturing from you to the man in the seat behind him. “This is Dustin Henderson, Henderson, this is my partner.” He introduced you.
“My real name, Steve? Really?” Dustin snapped, pulling the fedora from wild curls.
Steve shrugged. “She didn’t know it was your real name until you just confirmed it, dipshit.”
Dustin rolled his eyes.
You blinked back at a the two of them. There was no family resemblance, but they bickered like siblings, and you realized this was the largest glimpse you’d gained into Steve’s private life in the year you’d known him. You knew his parents’ names, that he grew up in Indiana. You knew he was captain of the swim team. You knew he enjoyed sports. You knew he knew far too much about the movie Labyrinth. You knew his go-to sit-in diner order (a cheeseburger with no onions and a strawberry shake). But somehow this connection, with this strange young man, was the greatest insight you had into who your partner really was.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you,” you extended a hand.
Dustin Henderson smiled at that, a big, warm, round smile. His hand was cold and clammy from the rain, but the handshake was strong and firm. “Likewise,” he nodded. “Steve was right, you are a beautiful woman.”
“Hello? Can we talk about the autopsy reports?” Steve snapped his fingers to get you both back on track.
“Okay, Jesus Christ,” Dustin hissed like a scolded middle schooler. He reached into the inside pocket of his oversized trench coat and pulled out a few pieces of paper. He handed half the pile to Steve and half to you.
You squinted down at a handful of coroner’s reports, the names of the deceased all familiar to you. Les Joplin sat at the top of the pile. Cause of death: prolonged exposure. You swallowed and handed the paper over for Steve to read.
He shook his head. “So could you find anything?”
Dustin tapped his fingers on the bottom of the pages. “All of these autopsy’s were done by the same man. No matter what part of the country these people were in, they brought in the same guy. George Humbolt.”
You thumbed through the remaining papers to find the signature he’d indicated.
“George Humbolt no longer works for the United States government. He actually recently retired and bought a very large mansion in Key Largo. He was a very difficult man to track down, and when I called him earlier to ask him about the Garcia brothers, his phone line was disconnected.” Dustin explained through grit teeth.
You glanced up at the young man, peach fuzz barely cresting his upper lip. You wondered what got him into this life, if he’d been thrust into conspiracy theories chasing his older brother-figure. You wondered if he’d seen as many horrible things as Steve had, as you had. You hoped not. You hoped nothing would come of this snooping. You hoped he was being safe.
“Humbolt didn’t do Joplin’s,” Steve exchanged you papers again. In script, you could barely make out the name of a woman, Caroline Something. “Maybe we can track down the new person?”
“I did some digging into her too.” Dustin nodded. “Her supervisor is one Samuel Owens.”
You watched Steve’s expression shift, harden. You watched him watch you. You watched the trust fall from his eyes, wariness making his shoulders and jaw rigid.
He swallowed, nodded, folded the papers in his hands. “Well, Henderson, thanks for this, man. I think maybe it’d be wise to lay low for a little while.”
“Sure, man. You know I’m always careful though.” Dustin could sense the shift in his friend. His face seemed to screw up, too, in concern. He offered you a sad smile.
Steve nodded, solemn, and cranked the heat again. The noise from the fan cut through the tension. “Do you need a ride home? How the Hell did you get out here?”
“Walked.” Dustin sighed and folded himself back into his seat, reaching for the seat belt.
The rain calmed to a soft sprinkle that dotted your cheeks. Droplets caught on your eyelashes and cast stardust in your vision under streetlights and the entrance to your apartment building. You blinked them away, keys jingling at your side as you let yourself in.
Steve held the door to let you hobble past, and he followed you in quiet silence onto the elevator.
You pressed the button to your floor and relaxed into the handrail, taking some weight off your aching foot in its boot.
Dustin had made sweet small talk on his way home, asking about your life and your interests. You’d learned he was a computer programmer. He had a pet turtle, and Steve was his best friend.
When he exited the car, the two exchanged a cute handshake that Steve seemed nonplussed to reenact, despite both of them being silhouetted in the headlights.
Steve didn’t speak a word to you the rest of the way home.
“Thanks again for sticking with me at Sadie’s today. You really didn’t have to stay.” You said, voice hoarse, as you stepped off the elevator and onto your floor.
Your partner shrugged, rubbed at the back of his neck. “I had fun. Sorry about Henderson, by the way. He can be a bit…”
“Endearing? Wholesome? Adorable?” You smiled.
Steve snorted. “I was going to say obnoxious, but I’ll tell him you said that. He’ll probably buy you flowers.”
You hummed. “Flowers are nice, and so was he.”
You put your keys into your lock and twisted. Steve was warm behind you, a towering presence of protection and safety. You thought of Sadie’s warning. Be careful. Never had you doubted where you stood with Steve. Even though he’d been a stranger to you, you never felt threatened, never felt afraid.
You turned to look at him.
He swallowed, glanced down the hall. “Listen, I’m really sorry about today. Sometimes I can’t handle that I can’t save everyone, and I get a bit carried away.”
Your heart sunk, and you tilted your head to catch his gaze. His brown eyes were nervous. You shook your head. “No, you were right. Something weird is going on, and we’re going to figure it out. We can’t save everyone, but we can save someone.”
He took a few beats, searching for a falter in your certainty, searching for that trust in you, before he nodded.
A soft meow startled you apart, and your front door clicked open. Mrs. Song’s cat began rubbing his black and white butt against Steve’s ankle, purring loudly.
You both chuckled, clutching at startled chests before Steve leaned down to give the cat some much-needed pets.
Your heart pittered a little in your chest, and you found your face warming once again at the thought of Steve returning home after a long day’s work to greet his pets.
You cleared your throat and backed into your apartment, tossing your purse on the nearby hook and shrugging out of your jacket. “Well, goodnight. Thanks again for the ride.”
Steve stood up straight, all thick thighs and broad shoulders, cheeks pinched pink. He nodded. “Sure, no problem. Do you uh… do you need a ride to the office tomorrow?”
You tucked a hair behind your ear and shrugged. “Sure, um… sure, thanks.”
He nodded again. “Alright, pick you up at 7:45?”
You nodded. You felt paralyzed in this moment.
Steve stood in the precipice of your doorway, the green of your wallpaper bringing out the green in his eyes. You thought back to the teasing words of the women at the barbecue. If any of them had a man like this in their doorway, they’d invite him in, offer him a drink, do anything but stand and stare and wonder what could be, hearts racing.
He wrapped his knuckles against the doorframe and pushed off, a smile quirking at the corner of his lips. “Alright, then. Night.”
“Night.” You managed.
He stumbled a bit around the cat during his turnaround and bent to give her one last little pat.
“Steve!”
He stopped and stood back up to look at you over his shoulder.
“Don’t let the job discourage you,” you released a shaky exhale.
He frowned, confused.
“From having a life,” you explained.
Realization flooded his features, but the two of you remained rooted to the spot. You thought of Dustin and his turtle, and of Sadie and Jeff and their sweet little home. You thought of kids screaming on the trampoline. You thought of all of these things you never thought you’d have, unsure if you wanted them, unsure where Steve stood, if you’d be dragging him down, stealing his happiness by dying on the field. Maybe that’s what happened to Robin…
You cleared your throat, smiled, nodded. “You should really call Michelle. She’s a really sweet person. She’s funny. She’s very intelligent. She makes excellent brownies. Her son, Wyatt, is a really cool kid, too. I think he’s in karate.”
Steve nodded, taking another step backwards into the hallway, spell-broken. “I’ll think about it.”
“Good.” You smiled. “Night.”
“Night.”
The peephole carved a divot into your forehead once the door was closed.

What if Ciel, r!Ciel, Sebastian, Alois, Claude, Soma, Agni (and whoever else you wanna add) worked somehwere like ouran hshc? Like how would they be w each other and with a reader/customers n all that? 🥰
! Ouran HSHC AU !
OURAN HSHC MENTION WTF IS A SEASON TWO RAHHHHH
..also, imagine soma and agni being related
Tumblr media
This took forever to think about.
Ciel as Haruhi, R!Ciel as Tamaki, Sebastian as Kyoya, Claude as Mori, Alois as Honey, Soma and Agni as the twins. Soma as Hikaru, Agni as Kaoru (it made most sense but my fujo brain wanted agni to be the seme...)
Despite Soma and Agni being the brocons, they aren't the most popular duo. That's Ciel and R!Ciel. A teasing older twin, and a shy younger twin.
Alois is more-so a mix of Shiro and Honey. He isn't the innocent type Honey is, but goes for the dynamic of Honey. For girls that wish for a cute boy to dote on. He has a naughtier, playboy personality like Shiro.. as shown at the end of that episode he's in.
This club is known for being quite.. taboo. Only the girls that were known for being naughty or improper went there, or the girls too shy to admit it. Sometimes, even boys or GNC people as well! Everyone gets treated the same though.
You'd be welcomed with a kiss to the hand from Sebastian, leading you to a table for you to sit at. Ciel will be the one to ask who you'd wish to schedule.
If you pick Ciel, he'll be quite sweet to you. He'll be kind, brushing his hand through your hair sweetly. He'll offer you his favorite candies, telling you that he doesn't share with just anyone. You're special! If you want, he'll let you have a taste of his favorite lollipop. Then, he'd like the exact same spot you did for an 'indirect kiss'.
If you pick R!Ciel, he's much more flirty. He'll always have a hand on you unless you explicitly say no. On your arm, holding your hand, in your hair, on your knee. He'll rest his head on your shoulder, taking in your scent. Whether it be your natural one or some perfume or cologne you put on, he doesn't care. He loves your smell, and will let you know that fact.
If you pick Sebastian, he'll act, unsurprisingly, like a butler for you. But a more daring one. He'll hold your tea cup as you drink, he'll wipe your mouth sensually, he'll feed you. He makes sure everything you have in your mouth is perfect, and the smallest complaint you have will leave him apologizing and treating you 10x better. His compliments are very unique, and always leave you flushed beyond belief.
Picking Alois will leave you almost as flustered as Sebastian. Perhaps it's the taboo, but the way he'd curl up in your lap and ask for pets is adorable. He treats you, of course, but his cute little face is irresistible. Twirling his soft hair while Claude watched in the distance, making sure everything was going okay. Alois called you his big sibling, or one of his parents. He loves seeing how flustered you get.
Picking Claude is practically a two for one deal. Alois is almost always at his side, clinging onto him, looking at you with a pout of jealousy. Claude is a much more professional butler role, his advances being more subtle. But you expect it, so every movement he makes always leaves you flustered. Whether it be the slightest graze of his hand on yours, or perhaps he breathed a little too hard on you. He knew how to tease, and he did it well.
Soma and Agni, however, are a 2 for 1. Without Agni, Soma is nothing. Without Soma, Agni is nothing. So you kind of have to get both... which Ciel and R!Ciel decided to price down to be the same cost as everyone else. They're more seductive, almost worshiping you, in a way. Soma will hug you from behind, Agni praising you, on his knees for you, stroking your legs. One time, the two bickered about who would do the worship. Agni begged to be the one, as the prince shouldn't be on such dirty floors.
Of course, it ended up in brocon fanservice.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to yell at you like that, my prince.." Agni whispers, wiping a tear from Soma's eye. Crocodile, of course.
The other's merely watched in curiosity, confusion, or interest.

Off Days - Luca x reader one-shot
|AN: partly inspired by Juna - Clairo enjoy <3
|wc: 1.4k ish
|CW:Mostly domestic fluff, suggestive at the end SORRY ‘my girl’ used once also at the end !
Tumblr media
You and your loving boyfriend were always so busy. Both of you working in kitchens made it easy to understand each other’s passion for it.
That didn’t mean you loved being away from him so often.
You’d barely seen your boyfriend so far this week, living together made it a little easier for you two but you usually came home too tired to do anything.
Thankfully today was Sunday; the one off day you shared. Your favorite day of the week.
Arriving home before Luca the night before, you’d been planning something special for him all week. You showered and threw on his shirt that was practically yours at this point before double-checking your list for the morning and then getting ready for bed.
You always looked forward to Sundays and this one was even more exciting. You bought some nice wine, got some new candles, and picked out everything you needed to make a beautiful dinner for both of you.
It wasn’t anything particularly extravagant but you knew he’d appreciate it just as much as you.
You knew you’d fall asleep before he got home so you sent him a little goodnight message and went to bed.
:Left some pasta in the fridge for you, goodnight baby. Love you! <3
———
You woke up far too early for a Sunday with Luca lying right behind you, arm draped around your waist while resting his head on your shoulder. You leaned over to give him a kiss before getting up for your usual morning rituals.
You came back to a stirring Luca, groaning about your absence and urging you back to bed with a grabbing hand. You giggled at his wordless request and climbed back in.
“G’morning.” You whispered into his hair, being engulfed by the warmth of his body and the comforter being tossed back over you.
“Morning, love.”
You reached a hand out of the warmth you shared to softly trace a finger over his face, making him smile and lean into your touch.
“You sleep good?” You murmured into him, your head finding the perfect spot; laying against his chest.
“Still am.” He punctuated with a kiss to your head, bringing a hand up to rest over your hair, pulling you into him further.
You smiled against him, letting the warmth and comfort surrounding you drift you back off to sleep.
You woke up again at a much more reasonable hour, soft yellow light pouring through the windows.
Luca was still holding you tight against him, just beginning to flutter his eyes open as you left a few kisses at his jaw.
“‘S it time to get up?” He said groggily, following his words with a yawn.
“No, baby” you kissed his cheek before pulling the cover away from yourself and getting up, causing him to groan from the loss of your warm touch. “you go back to sleep ‘m just gonna go make breakfast.”
He sighed reluctantly, reaching out for a hand to kiss before closing his eyes again.
——-
You made a simple breakfast and brought it back to your shared room, mouth-watering smells having woken Luca up just before.
He was sitting up to stretch as you walked in, taking a deep breath and grinning when he saw you carrying his plate.
“For me?” He asked, hands covering his mouth dramatically.
You giggled at his playfulness even after just waking up, leaning down to give him a kiss before handing him his food and setting a glass of water on the nightstand next to him.
You walked back out to grab your own breakfast before settling down next to him, throwing on the show you usually watch together.
“Oh this is a good episode.” He said before it had even started, making you giggle.
———
“You’ve got some toothpaste on your mouth.” He gestured to his own, walking to the place on the couch where you were peacefully crossing off some of your to do list, anticipating the rest.
“Do not.” You muttered, rolling your eyes at him and wiping your mouth anyway.
He laid down and put his head in your lap,
“Working on something?”
You hummed. “Just a to do list for later.”
He turned to kiss your hand and grabbed your pen and notebook to put them on the table. You gave him a confused look until he moved one of your hands to his hair and held the other over his chest.
“You missed me this week, didn’t you?” You asked the one question you already knew the answer to.
—————-
After a few hours of just laying around enjoying each others company, laughing and talking together, you decided to start on dinner.
You got dressed up, one of Luca’s button ups and no pants was good enough. You grabbed all of the ingredients you needed while Luca was busy reading a book you thought he’d like.
The windows were open, cool Chicago air swirling through your apartment as you put your favorite record on. You lit a few candles, grabbed a fun drink to sip on as you cooked and got to work.
“Looks fun in there!” Luca cupped his hands around his mouth to say as if you were so far away he needed to yell.
“It is fun in here.” It took one glance his way before he was practically skipping into the kitchen, socks sliding over the tiles. You were laughing as he pulled you back into him, pouting when you continued cooking instead of stopping to spare a kiss.
As soon as the food was in the oven he was grabbing your hands, pulling you into him once again and guiding you to dance with him.
“You can put your feet on mine if you need to, y’know.”
He laughed when you looked up at him with a gasp and a hand over your heart like that was the most insulting thing you’ve ever heard.
“Speak for yourself.”
———-
Once the food was ready you let Luca set the table while you got your plates ready.
You grabbed the fancy wine you bought and put everything on the candle-lit table.
“Everything looks incredible, love, especially you. Thank you.” He muttered, adoration in his eyes as he pulled you in for a kiss before you sat down.
You smiled and lifted your glass, “Cheers.”
“To you.” You both said it at the same time, grinning before clinking your glasses together.
————-
Luca was drawing a bath for both of you after cleaning your plates, you grabbed some towels and robes before joining him.
He moved a few candles to the bathroom, threw in your favorite bubble bath and a little lavender.
You mimicked his dramatic movements from this morning, “For me?” He laughed softly at that and picked you up to put you in the bath.
“Let me take my shirt off first, you freak.”
He sat you down on the edge of the bathtub and helped you unbutton your shirt before taking your hand to help you in.
“Joining me?” You asked, reaching a soapy hand out to him.
“D’you want me to take all of your bubbles again?” He replied, pulling out some face masks.
“If you let me shampoo your hair and give you a bubble beard you can do whatever you want.” You grinned, reaching hand waving him in.
“Deal.”
———————-
You were both refreshed and in your robes, Luca going to blow out the candles while you got ready for bed.
You looked up from the lotion you had just grabbed as he walked in.
“No no, let me do it.”
You turned your head toward him, deciding against making him pout again. Handing him the bottle he sat down next to you and started on your legs.
“I had a really nice time today, y’know. I really did miss you this week, I always love spending time with my girl.” He assured you, punctuating his thoughts with a kiss to your knee.
“Me too, baby. I’m glad you liked it.”
You grinned as he continued moisturizing your skin, slowly working his way up. You placed your hands on his shoulders, pushing his robe to lightly massage his skin.
He moved your robe to get your arms, causing goosebumps to form on your skin from the cool air. Warm hands moving over you made you miss something else.
He gently pushed you to lay down so he could get your chest and stomach, smirking up at you as your breaths got quicker.
“Luca-“

You didn't remember the last time you were dressed up like that in the bedroom - not that you or Feyd didn't enjoy revealing lingerie, it was rather the opposite... but with all the things going on on Arrakis and the greater than usually turmoil between Major Houses, you had much less time for properly pleasing each other or indulging in your passions. You could only enjoy quick fucking in breaks from his political duties (rest of the court didn't appreciate him leaving once in awhile, but they wouldn’t rather risk his threats) or tired sex when you could finally rest in your chamber at evening.
But now situation calmed down a bit. You knew that life would never be peaceful while living with heir to one of the most powerful - and perhaps the most hated - Houses. But you made your choice. And you still could count on days like this, when you could rest and have you only to each other.
You put a long black robe on yourself and entered the bedroom. Feyd already waited for you, laying stretched out on the bed, with his hand under his head. When he saw you, he sat up, staring at you with a smile.
"Are you going to stay in that robe for the whole night?" He asked teasingly.
You didn't reply and simply took off the robe, revealing what you wore underneath. Feyd looked at you with a mix of desire and surprise because you decided not to tell him about the outfit you planned.
You wore black pleaser shoes (at first you didn't feel that sure about trying such a high heel, but seeing effect in the mirror gave you more confidence), dark stockings pinned to lacy pants, and the last element was corset, ending right under your chest. You knew that sooner or later this corset will end up thrown on the floor, but you didn't want to cover your nipple piercings even for a moment. It was seemingly a simple detail, but you knew that it drew Feyd wild. Now he was eyeing you up with a clear excitement.
"Do we have any occasion today? Or did you just decide to provide me special entertainment?"
You walked to the bed, enjoying the sound of the heels clicking on the floor. From his smile, you could see that Feyd already enjoyed this evening without even touching you.
"Lets say that I just missed taking my time with you"
You sat on the bed and started caressing his leg, focusing especially on his inner thigh. You could notice that his breathing got heavier but he still controlled himself and kept observing you carefully as if he planned his next moves. Finally he reached out and grabbed your waist, just to pull you on his lap. You kneeled on the bed, with his legs between yours. His hands started wandering across your body - from your legs, ass, over your sides and to your shoulders.
"I almost feel bad about ruining this outfit"
You kissed his neck and sucked his skin, not caring if he's gonna have to cover the marks letter. When he gasped, you leaned back and smiled to him, just to add:
"With an emphasis on >almost<"
Feyd just smirked and pushed you, so you landed on your back. He crawled on top of you and pinned you to the bed with one hand, just to lean over and start kissing your nipples, suck on them and playing with piercings, using his tongue. At the same time, his other hand grabbed your thigh and tried to lift it. Almost absent-mindedly you followed his action and put that legs on his back. Without interrupting playing with your nipples, Feyd smiled to himself, enjoying your submission to his actions. He unfastened the stocking from your pants, revealing bare skin of your leg. Now his hand was caressing your thigh and squeezing the soft flesh. You gasped under the next sensations but still you waited for more; this night you wanted just to please him and to submit yourself to him completely. You would like to touch him as well and kiss his body but he was still pinning you to the bed. His grip wasn't too tight but getting up would stop his caresses and you didn't have strength of will required for this decision.
Feyd's hand slowly wandered lower, now grabbing your ass and squeezing it. You still kept your eyes half-lidded as you were enjoying the caresses, but then his hand slided under the material of the panties, he pressed his finger to your butthole and began massaging it. You moaned quietly and tried to put your legs in position that would give him better and easier access.
Feyd noticed your movement with amusement. He liked how obedient and easy to control you became in bed. Of course, there were times when he let you took charge (and he enjoyed it more than he expected before), but usually when you got aroused, all your self-restraints disappeared and he could use your body however he wanted.
He spat on his finger and continued massaging your butt, pressing a bit harder than before. You shivered slightly and let out another gasp. He loved pain and tortures (to be honest, he liked equally to give and receive them) but he liked as well more delicate moments, when you were just caressing and gently exploring each other’s bodies; he also always made sure you got your satisfaction, especially that seeing you writhe in pleasure just from his touches, pumped his ego (and other parts of his body).
He interrupted his actions to move back a bit and pull off your pants so they wouldn’t get in the way later.
You opened your eyes and looked at him. Feyd just smirked, noticing your interest.
"Don't worry, pet, I am not finished with you yet" he said with his low, raspy voice.
He reached to the drawer of your bedside cabinet (that actually served as a collection of the "everyday necessities", meaning some of the basic toys and devices that you liked to have close at hand) and took out nipple clamps connected with a chain. Feyd kneeled between your legs, put the clamps on your nipples and yanked the chain. You let out a short moan. You got used to pain a bit, thanks to your experiments with Feyd, but your nipples remained very sensitive and the clamps were tight.
He spat on his finger and this time he slided it inside. Not very deep at first, he started with small movements to make you relax and get used to the feeling. Before going further, he took your dick in his other hand and started jerking you off, this time going fast and hard without hesitation. You slightly arched your back and moaned louder than before, not expecting that sudden shift in stimulation. Especially that as you got more aroused, Feyd also started to finger your ass deeper and faster. Your legs twitched but you clenched your hands on the sheets, trying to stay in place. Despite your desire to last as long as possible, you could feel being close to the edge, so you gathered your strength to ask:
"Feyd... can I cum?"
He smiled and replied without interrupting his moves:
"Go on, tonight I won't stop your satisfaction"
Not long later, you tilted your heard back and gasped, as your whole body relaxed after final wave of pleasure. Your cum ran down your dick, covering Feyd's hand. He brought it to your mouth.
"Lick it off"
You obediently licked his hand and sucked on his fingers, making sure to left it completely clean. When you finished, you looked at him with a slight embarassment.
"I'm sorry that I didn't last longer-"
Before you said anything more, he grabbed your chin and kissed you. Then he looked at you with a smirk.
"Who said that we're finished? I still have to get my pleasure"

"I'm gonna cry, this show sucks," you speak, throwing your head back on the back of the couch.
"What is with this CGI..." The blonde mutters. "What's the budget on this show?"
You shrug. "Let me enjoy my show, Tommy"
"Wait, that Jeffery guy got out?"
"Yeah," you frown, watching as Athena runs across the screen and outside to look for the monster who was supposed to be on trial.
He pulls you into a hug as you both watch the show, being the first episode of season four. The city is collapsing, and a fangroup of a dangerous predator were sending glares to the victims.
You knew it was just a show. You couldn't help but feel bad because people did treat victims like that in real life, plus this show just made you emotional as all hell.
The blonde pulls you a little closer, having seen your eyes well up with tears.
"He's right there!"
"Athena run!"
"Oh fuck!"
"This show stresses me out too much, Y/n/n"
"How do you think I feel?"
Tumblr media
Cinco.
"Liking sherbert ice cream is such a red flag"
"What? Says you! Strawberry just isn't that good"
You playfully scoff, holding your strawberry waffle cone in your hand as Tommy passes up a ten pound bill up to the lady in the food truck. He holds his plastic bowl of sherbert ice cream in his other hand, a spoon tied between his index and middle fingers, holding on for dear life so as not to be dropped onto the concrete below.
"Why do I ever take you to do fun things?"
"You love me," He grins, stuffing the change in his pocket before walking away with you. "I just hold a special place in your heart."
"Sure you do, pal," you reply with a smile, taking a bite out of your ice cream. "Where do you wanna sit? I can't eat and walk, not a multi-tasker."
He scans the area, landing his eyes on a bench across the little road. Thank God these fairgrounds had benches, unlike the ones near Tubbo. Eugh.
He leads you toward the bench, taking a bite from his multicolored sweet with the white plastic spoon. You sit down with him, enjoying the scenery of a million fair rides and colorful lights against the dark night sky. Screams of terror and amusement fill your ears as you watch one of the mini coasters go down the large drop again.
You feel a shiver run down your spine, the chilly wind freezing you up for a moment. Maybe it wasn't a good idea to eat ice cream with no sun around to keep you warm. The blonde notices, though, and nearly makes a joke to rip on you for not bringing a jacket. But, he doesn't.
He slips off his plaid jacket and wraps it around your shoulders. He took into consideration that you would've just gone back and forth if he tried handing it to you.
You look at him, an eyebrow raised in clear confusion.
"I saw you shivering." He chuckles, taking another bite out of his sorbet. "Just take it, I'm sweating in it anyways"
You quietly nod and lean into the jacket more, considering you didn't have free hands to put it on at the moment. You could feel his body heat from the jacket rub off on you, warming you up as it was a heater.
"You wanna go on the ferris wheel after this?" He asks, looking up at the big, circular wheel a couple hundred yards away. Lights glimmer and flicker across the sides, shining all colors of the rainbow. "The line doesn't look too bad at the moment"
You shrug, "Yeah, sure. I'll slip the guy a five to hold us at the top to scare you." You joke with a snicker.
"Y/n!"
Tumblr media
Funf.
"I'm not jealous. Why would I be jealous?" You deadpan to your blonde friend, arms crossed.
"Cause I'm going on a date" He answers, again.
"With someone who's an asshole," you clarify once again, "Dude, I'm serious. There's a million other people you could go out with. Just skip them before they actually hurt you"
"Physically or mentally?"
"Tommy! I'm serious"
He sighs, pulling at the tie around his neck. He sighs, nearly a groan. "Why did I agree to take them somewhere fancy?"
You roll your eyes and quickly rush to his aid, turning him to face you. You loop your fingers around the tie and begin properly tying it around his collared shirt for him. He quickly feels his face heat up, making sure to keep his chin up, eyes still down to watch you work. He notices you bite at the inside of your cheek a bit, showing that you were in deep concentration.
He didn't know whether or not you actually knew how to tie a tie, or if you did it to make him shut the hell up, but he appreciated it either way.
"There," you speak, pulling your hands away from his neck after adjusting the tie a bit so it wasn't asymmetrical. "Tie is tied, Simons"
He turns to the mirror, looking at himself again. He smiles lightly, his eyes softening as he looks back at you.
"Thanks"
"Go have fun on that date of yours"
"I'll try"
Tumblr media
Cinq.
"Just hold my hand, you'll be okay"
"What are you talking about? I'm gonna die!"
"You'll live"
"Nuh uh!"
You sigh, dragging Tommy to the slingshot. You walk behind Tubbo and Freddie, who are a few feet ahead, as they hadn't heard any of Tommy's whining. Who knew the poor boy was so scared of heights.
"Please, I don't wanna get on it!"
"I need a partner, Simons"
He groans, catching up to your speed, your hand still wrapped around his wrist. You catch up to your friends, now walking through the empty line area.
"See? No one's here because they know they're gonna die!"
"No one's here because it's lunch time, Tommy"
"Damnit"
The overhead straps click as they lock around your bodies. Tommy's already white-knuckling the handles, clear desperation and fear in his eyes. You reach your left hand out to him, looking at him the best you can past the safety harness, which is practically against your face.
He quickly grabs onto your hand, squeezing it tightly.
"You'll be fine, it's fun!"
"I'm scared!"
Freddie and Tubbo laugh, reassuring the blonde that he'll live. Something in you is still a little surprised that Tubbo was actually excited about this.
The automated "keep your hands and feet inside the ride" speech plays while the platform sinks into the ground a bit, preparing to fling you into space. The blonde leans his head back, mentally preparing himself to scream his voice away. A split second after it ended, you were shot in the air, screams filling your ears, including your own.
"Y/n/n! Help! I hate this!" The blonde screams, squeezing onto your hand even tighter.
"Look at the view!" You yell back with a smile, taking in the view of the whole park from that height. You couldn't wait to see Tommy's face on the gopro footage later, his face was probably as red as cherries. "You're okay! Just don't throw up!"
"No, no, I don't wanna go down!" His voice echoes through the air, then his screams again as the ride plummets down.
Tubbo and Freddie laugh and scream, having the time of their life, which you share with them as the blonde in between you all is freaking out. However, on the next fling up, he seems calmer and now trusts that he's safe. His grip on your hand loosens a bit, and you smile as you can hear his screams of terror turn into screams of a happy thrill.
"Okay, this is cool!" He yells over the machine and screams of other passengers.
"You think so?" Tubbo yells, "Look, there's the others!" He points out in the distance, apparently seeing the group of your other friends across the park.
"Where are you even pointing?" Freddie questions, the end of his sentence turning into a yell as you plummet down again.
"Grow up, Freddie, you're fine!" Tommy yells jokingly, trying to keep air in his lungs.
"Shut up!"
Tumblr media
'Elima.
"What the hell is this?" You ask, furrowing your eyebrows.
"Lunch!" Tommy answers, looking back down at the whole picnic setup in his backyard. "You said you were hungry"
"I meant like, we could go get food." You clarify, "I was just gonna come pick you up, and we could go somewhere."
He shrugs, "It's food" He smiles and jumps onto the blanket, waiting for you.
You lightly smile at his dorky grin and sit down with him, throwing some Jolly Ranchers at him, which you had stuffed in your pockets.
You eat in peace, sitting in his backyard underneath a tree. You end up full while he's still munching on some fruit and decide to make a little flower crown out of the yellow flowers that were scattered around the yard. You get to work on tying them together, wanting to give it to Tommy and take a picture. You wanted to post said picture on Twitter and caption it "2020 vibes" but we'll see how far that got.
He watches you as you work, having seen you walk about the yard and gather a large bouquet of the little yellow weeds. He spits out another cherry pit onto the grass behind him, munching on the rest of the juicy fruit.
"What're you doing?" He asks
"Flower crown. I'm gonna put it on you. The 2020 era is revisiting," You answer, weaving another flower into the rope. "It's gonna be amazing, I'm gonna trend on Twitter after this"
"Oh God, no."
Tumblr media
"Last time I asked what something was, it was lunch in your backyard, but I don't think this is the same" You speak, an eyebrow slightly raised as you look at the drenched Tommy on your doorstep.
He holds a bouquet of flowers, which are being watered by the rain dripping from his flattened hair. He's completely soaked by the thunderstorm outside, making you wonder if he really walked all the way to your house in the middle of a storm. You internally pray that he took a bus.
"Yeah, uh, it's not" He nervously smiles. "I wanted to ask you out on a date, maybe"
You blink, still a little confused and now bewildered. You look down the street, seeing Molly, your mutual friend, sitting in her car, watching.
"Is this a prank or?.." You ask, glancing back to the car, letting Tommy know that you're aware that Molly drove him here.
"No, no, no! I- This is genuine. Seriously. It's fine if not, I just, like, have had a crush on you for a while, and it's making me all confused, and I just want it to go away." The blonde answers, watching you take the flowers from his hands.
"Well, what if I don't want it to go away?" You softly ask, looking back up at him.
His desperate look for rejection had turned to one of happiness, near disbelief even.
"What?"
"You heard me"
He glances at your lips for a moment before quickly kissing you, hands on your cheeks, before scurrying away. He sprints back towards the car, where you can see Molly cheering through the front windshield.
Tommy looks back, face red as ever, "Meet me at the pier tomorrow at three!"
You smile and shout back. "Okay!"
You lean against the door, watching him jump into the passengers seat and happily smile with Molly. You're unable to figure out what they're talking about, but you use your context clues to figure it was probably you.
Tommy realizes you're watching him, eyes slightly widened, lips shut like you could hear him. You wave goodbye and retrieve to the warmth of your home inside.
"I'm going on a date with Y/n!"

Heyooo, it's been a while, and I've been going on a wind breaker fic streak for a while. Alsooo this is another lee!sakura with another special lee! Surprise... though I'm not sure if it will work, lol
Ohhh, and a bit of SuoSaku shipping! I love those two, btw...and the imaginary girl I put can like a y/n reader... hehehe, up to u.
Warning spoilers after episode 11
Not a scary guy... see?
Tumblr media
Kiryu gives Sakura an unimpressed tilted smile as he insists the girl next to him, who looks like she's in middle school, "Ne, sorry if he's being a little dramatic but I can assure you Sakura-chan is a nice guy..."
The girl looks frightened regardless. She's one of the girls Kiryu, Suo, and Sakura encountered being bullied by another turf. Saving her, thankfully.
Her blue eyes glisten as she stares at the black and white-haired boy. Somewhat enthralled by how he beaten the 10 guys swiftly without the help of his two friends. They had run to Kotoha's restaurant - but probably because Sakura gets hungry after every fight.
However, when Sakura started getting angry at another guy named Sugishita... He's even scarier.
She felt a sudden surge of fear snatch within her gut. But luckily for her the long haired guy is gone since Kotoha had to send him away with her menacing glare and Sakura settled sitting down rocking his foot with irritation, he slammed a hand on the desk as well.
"Damn that guy! I'll stuff him tomorrow at school for sure!"
The girl squeaked, now hiding behind Suo.
The comforting Kiryu pats her head sweetly. "There there... you are safe"
Suo sighs, but with a fond smile, he decides to approach Sakura from the side, "Sakura-kun, you shouldn't be this aggressive..."
"I-I'm not!" Sakura snaps so loudly that the girl whimpers again. of course... he couldn't help but look somewhat guilty for that.
Kotoha groaned now drying the plates as she decided to get her omelette rice started for him, "Geez, Sakura chill... honestly, if you're being this angry, then you can forget your omurice"
Sakura snaps, now hands slamming on the table again, leaning close and daring, "Huuh? Why? Can't I be angry?"
Kotoha stares, not intimidated in the slightest as she knows him well enough now. She reaches to flick his forehead, "Because you're scaring my customers," then she adds with a poke to his side, smiling a little as he was rubbing the stinging flick she gave him. "And you're so uptight!"
He stiffened at that backing away with a little uneasy growl, sitting down. The younger girl noticed, Kotoha proudly understands, Suo hummed curiously, and Kiryu tilted his head, "Oya? Sakura-chan, it's rare for you to back down..."
Flustered Sakura looked sideway, his ears red, falling back on his chair like a good puppy, "I-I I just felt like it o-ok?"
Suo who's been the closest to Sakura, literally, started to raise his hand to reach something towards Sakura and even though Suo didn't attempt anything, Sakura stumbled back, fists clenched defensively, glaring, as he turns fully, "Bastard what the hell...!?"
Suo lets a laugh. Letting his hand fall down, "Ah, sorry, I was just trying to take a small spec of dust from your shoulder... did you get scared of something else?"
Sakura merely looked at his shoulder. However, with a swift movement, Suo tases his side, making Sakura jolt to the wide with a yelp, "Hey!"
Kotoha laughs, "Now thats more like it... rather than you putting tantrums"
Sakura blushed, "Quiet! You better stop teasing me -geh! Ahaha, c-cut it ohohout!" As he was in the middle of snapping at Kotoha. Suo aimed another efficient poke to his side.
Suo grinned slowly, stepping forward with his hands ready to 'attack', "Don't be so shy... It's just a harmless little tickle... see?" He aimed another poke towards his stomach, making Sakura stumble backwards. Lucky for Kotoha, her shop is at closing hours. Otherwise, she might have to kick them all out for disturbing.
"Shy my ass! Stop that..." he used his arms to cover his middle, now hunched a little defensively. Suo loomed to the side, hoping to sneak another firm prod, and Sakura used his elbows to cover his ribs on the side Suo attempted to target.
"Wow... Sakura-kun, are you that scared?" He teased, now using feints to catch him off guard.
"N-not scared jerk! I-I just..." he flinched when Suo pretended to tickle his right side, but only for him to get tricked again.
Kiryu giggles, "Kyuun! Sakura-chan is cute! See he's not so scary, now is he, Hina-chan?" He turns to the girl who smiled a little, awkwardly enjoying this little game they are playing.
Perhaps not all delinquents are bad....
"Uh oh... Wahait!"
Surprised, it wasn't Sakura's voice. This time it was a light and calm voice of Suo who's suddenly being pinned down by a flustered Sakura. He growled, looking like a little angry cat, "Ha? How do ya like that! Can't take what ya dish!"
"Ahahahaha, hehey."
Suo didn't seem embarassed but rather he had a sweet laugh that Kiryu really liked. But he still think Sakura's angry laughter is way amusing than that.
Suo chuckles even more, now his cheeks a rare colour of pink, which somewhat did male sakura look softly at him "Sahahakuhura-kuhuhun..."
"What? Y-you started it -ah! Haha, wait, WAIT!"
Suo swiftly parries Sakura by using his hands to block his sides and then using his palms to push him down his back but grabbing Sakura's leg, and started digging into his knees and upper thighs, which are normally sensitive spots.
This bastard lied to him! The moment Sakura's fingers stopped a moment from his ribs, Suo takes that chance very swiftly.
"AH! SHihit! Wahaha not theHEHEREHE!!"
Kiryu pouted, "Aww and just when we get to see Suo-chan laughing like a silly goose"
Suo gives a short laugh, "Kiryi-kun thats mean... oh well Sakura almost got me and you have my respect there... but..." he stopped the attack on his knees and makes his way to intensify his attack on his upperbody.
"Y-yohohohou sneheheheak! Ahaha, matte!" He panicked, attempting to grab his wrists, now legs kicking uselessly.
Suo flips their positions, smiling proudly when he straddled him from the back this time. "Ah ah ah~ Sakura-kun... you can't get away with that little stunt... always remember in a tickle fight, don't yield when you're being tickled back... and you were very inexperienced, so it was easy for me to break free."
Sakura curled to the side now, sinking to the floor. He can't get him back now, "Ihihihihi nehehehever tihihihickled ahahahany one behehehefohohore haha! Shit stop ihihit!"
He grabbed Suo's wrist successfully, hoping to switch the tables, but a little opening allowed Suo to sneak his capable hand under his armpit. Surprised, it was so bad that his limbs suddenly became jelly.
"EEEH!"
Bingo. Suo thinks fondly, now teasingly testing the sensitivity there, "What was that Sakura kun?"
Kotoha stops her work momentarily to look up in amusement but giggles teasingly, "Uh oh, someone's weak spot has been exploited... that was a bad move, Sakura..."
Sakura couldn't even respond due to his preoccupied state, to think tickling is this unbearable when the right spot is targeted. His giggles turned to laughter, and his laughter turned to cackles that he felt so humiliated.
Suo grins, "Ah that's another fact... always look for the opponents weakspots... once u know... u can break them easily like this..." he began to drill his fingers deeper into his armpit.
Sakura squealed, and that bewildered Kiryu, who's been taking a video on his phone this whole time. He turned to Hinase with a chuckle, "Oh wow... he's that ticklish there?"
The girl now feels awkward watching strong delinquents have a tickle fight but somewhat likes the sound of Sakura's laugh since he's not that scary... especially the giggles that keep flooding through his lips.
Sakura'a face is red, now he slams his hand on the floor, showing truce as his elbows try to protect his armpits, "ahaha, fine, fine! FINE HAHAHA ENOUGH!"
Suo stops now, getting off Sakura yet remains kneeled down, pushing the strands of his hair to the side when Sakura rolled on his back, panting. Somewhat entranced... such a curious case
This makes Sakura blush and slowly shrug. The hand away as he gets up, sitting in front of where Kotoha is as she displays her special omelette rice. "Jeez, you will pahay ack!" he feels a simple poke from Kotoha who giggles, now she blows her finger as if it's a gun, "Now we know how to cool a scary guy like you... its adorable really"
Sakura wheezes in anger, bjt protectively covers his weak spots while glaring at Suo and Kotoha, "D-damn you! Dont call me cute!"
Suo grins, a finger aiming for a poke to his side which Sakura instantly caught his hands. Eyes narrowed, somewhat suspicious "Do not!"
"Ahh" he gives a little pout, a rare side of Suo, "But if you let me poke you here and there whenever I feel like I'll tell you my weak spot as well..." he winks.
Sakura's face heats up, curious and also embarassed, he looks away, now letting his hands go since he decides to eat the omelette rice, "h-ha? I don't need to know! I will find it myself someday!"
Suo grinned, elbow on the counter as he leaned on his palm, staring lovingly at him, "Hmm hmm, good boy," he pats his head in the process, making Sakura raise his spoon, as of he's gonna hit him with that. His face totally red.
Watching their antics, nobody, not even Kotoha, noticed Kiryu taking Hinase out from the cafe. She bowed to him politely, her face bright and back to her healthy colour, "Thank you! Kiryu-san... I can walk back on my own"
Kiryu smiles lightly, "That's fine... It's late, so I'll walk you. " he offered her his hand now.
She blushed in bliss, lucky to have met the first year high schoolers from bofurin. Taking his hand shyly they walk now.
She is indeed glad to have met them.
Especially Sakura... at the same time, they are human who like to mess around and have fun...
She giggles a little at the memory of Sakura's blushing face, "cute..." then blushes as well on the memory she just got of repeated Sakura blushes. she walks through the pavement, silently now, hiding her small snicker.
Kiryu asked, "What's so funny?"
"Ah... sorry, Sakura-san's face is quite adora -ahem interesting when he's shy"
Kiryu laughs, "very very! You won't believe how much of a tsundere he is. Tough and rough on the outside but a sweet kind softie on the inside..."
She agrees and now mentions, "Also about him and Suo"
Kiryu grins knowingly, placing a finger on his lips, "That is another story... but neither of them know what the story even is... hehe"
Another interesting story she would like to know... their bond seems unbreakable.
"Can't wait..." she smiles.
Meanwhile, at the cafe.
"Kotoha-saaan! Nirei is back!" The blond grins as he enters the cafe, looking spiffy as ever. Suo grins his hands still attempting to get Sakura once he finished his omelette rice.
Sakura's red face is still the same, and Nirei asks, "Eh? Sakura-san why your face red again?"
"Shut up! Y-you guys are so annoying!" He's still holding on to Suo's wrists cautious and careful not to let him poke him.
Kotoha chuckles, "Hai hai, Suo, you can stop teasing him before he becomes a tomato plant for Ume"
Suo casually let's his hands slip away but Sakura stares at him like a suspicious cat, "Grr... you will pay! Just you wait I will!"
Suo shrugs, "Oh scary much... until I poke you here..." he gives him a poke to the side but not touching as he's already stopped. Sakura squeaks attempts to grab his hand which quickly left.
Nirei Frown in confusion, "ehhh tell me? Why is Sakura embarassed and what do u mean poking him?"
Nirei's questions will be the death of Sakura. That top secret notebook is every bit of a menace as Suo's mysterious eye patch.

Strawberries and Cream
Pairing: Eddie Diaz x Reader
Word count: 5.2k
Notes: I’ve said it once I’ll say it again, I’m Autistic, your guess is as good as mine as for whatever is happening in chapter 8
Tumblr media
Episode 7: I can hear the bells
And now for the moment we’ve all been waiting for
Tumblr media
Eddie stands in front of Buck's door, flowers in hand. He smooths out his suit and gulps quietly, before knocking.
It’s odd that anyone knocks on Buck’s door and doesn’t just shout for him to open it
“You’re acting weird,” you tell Buck and he shrugs feigning innocence
“I literally have no idea what you’re talking about. What? A guy can’t want to do his cousin's hair? Especially me??”
“Yeah, I suppose that does sound like you when you put it that way…”
Buck had woken up that day in a very older brotherly mood. He made you breakfast and even made you get in the shower afterwards while he cleaned up.
“Here I got you this. I ran out of razors for you to steal”
He’d tossed you a can of magic shave powder and you narrowed your eyes at him. He was being oddly… nice today.
“Thanks”
You open the door and your mouth drops open, Eddie is standing there, and he looks fine as hell. You’d never seen him in nicer clothes than this. That suit is tailored to the gods. It fits every dip and curve of his body perfectly. It’s the deepest shade of black you think you’ve ever seen with a red tie and a gold tie pin right in the center, in the shape of a star. Even his shoes are nice and shiny
“I picked today when you’re staying at Buck’s so that way we would have space after, you know.” He sounds a little nervous as he stands in front of you, his heart on his sleeve
“After…what?” You ask as he hands you the beautiful flowers and a pretty pink box
“After our first date”
Good thing you stopped being suspicious and used the damn powder.
“Our- our first” you stutter and he smirks, that little nervousness gone for the time being because the way you’re short-circuiting is priceless
“Mhmm… do me a favor and go change? I knew I was springing this on you so Buck and Maddie helped me pick an outfit for you” he taps the box and you look dumbly at it
“I think you broke her” Buck comes over and takes the flowers to put in a vase for you before he grabs your shoulders, pulling you inside as Eddie follows. He gives you a little shove towards the stairs and you walk slowly up them, occasionally turning around to glare at Buck and Eddie suspiciously.
“Would you hurry up!” Buck yells at you and you scurry up the stairs. Eddie snorts and shakes his head following Buck over to the kitchen
“You look so damn good I told you I knew what I was doing” Buck compliments him smugly and Eddie rolls his eyes, watching him trim the stems
“Yeah-yeah you were right…Thank you, honestly Buck”
“Hey, anything for the two of you. And don’t worry,” he wiggles his eyebrows “I called Angelo’s and got you my special table”
“I told you not to do that!” He groans and slaps his hand over his face
“Hey! I did not wait this long to not give you my make-out table. God you know the strings I had to pull to get that!”
“You just called Emery and reminded him of your one-night stand,” Eddie says plainly and Buck’s mouth drops open
“Or you called Alyssa” He adds and Buck whacks him with a rose
“I’ll have you know it was Vanny. Asshole! You know my friend?! The owner's daughter?!”
Eddie looks at him skeptically and he gasps loudly, before pulling out his phone. He shoves the recent calls in Eddie’s face
“See!”
“What are you idiots fighting about now?”
“Bucks stupid make-out…table…”
The end of his sentence is whispered as you come down the stairs carefully. Buck and Maddie took their time choosing an outfit for you because if he was finally gonna do this you were gonna look good.
It’s a relatively simple dress, it flows behind you as you walk down the stairs carefully in your gold heels. The dress is red and silky, with spaghetti straps and a slit up to your thigh. You’ve got a small gold necklace on and your hair is put up with fancy gold pins in it. One is shaped like the moon and the other is shaped like a shooting star
You stand in front of them, doing a little spin and Eddie feels exactly like he did all over again when he’d first met you.
“H-hi,” He says and you blush, giving him a little wave with your fingers
“Hi… d-do I look okay?” You ask shyly and he nods slowly, coming around the counter to take your hands in his
“You look gorgeous, Y/N.” He says softly and you roll your eyes playfully
“Oh, you’re just saying that!”
He cups your face in his hands carefully and kisses your lips, tasting that sweet strawberry glitter gloss. His touch is soft and tender, the way he looks at you, his gaze so full of warmth and adoration.
“No, you’re beautiful… I-I’ve been waiting a long time for this night… and it doesn’t matter how it goes anymore, because I got to see you like this”
Your heart melts over his words and you look up at him, biting your lip gently. He leans in again, kissing your forehead
“Be a little more sappy, I haven’t thrown up yet” Buck snaps his fingers and you and Eddie look over, he’s got at least three cameras on you guys
“What?” You say under your breath and Buck chuckles gleefully
“This one’s got everyone on FaceTime” He points to the open laptop he’d spun around when Eddie had walked over
“I’m taking pictures with this” He waves his phone
“And this is recording the whole thing” He points to his iPad
“You FaceTimed everyone?” You groan as you let your head fall against Eddie’s chest completely embarrassed. And sure enough, the entire time is on FaceTime cheering and whistling for the two of you
“We did not wait this long not to see this moment,” Athena says from the laptop and you shake Eddie who snorts and pulls you away from him
“Look how pretty she looks” He holds you in front of him and you cover your face with your hands
“Really!!” You hiss and they all ooh and aah over you. You yank Eddie in front of you now and he stumbled forward
“Oh yeah! Well he looks even better”
“Do prom poses” Chimney says and Eddie turns around, grabbing your waist and picking you up to make you face them again
“Oh I was totally already gonna make them do it,” Buck says and comes around the counter
“Alright come on, you know what we want”
“Oh my god” you mutter and Eddie just giggles, putting his arms around your waist and pulling you flush against his body. He doesn’t care about how embarrassing any of this is, and it is embarrassing as hell don’t get him wrong. But how could he care, when he gets to go on a date with you, a real date?
Buck makes you guys do a few more ridiculous poses while you all talk, but eventually, Eddie manages to drag you out the front door and to the car so you’re not late to your reservations. He opens the door for you, kissing your hand as he helps you in and you blush, collecting your dress so he can shut the door
“As much as I hate all of their guts right now that was super cute” You giggle as he gets in and buckles himself in
“Oh I totally agree, we’re gonna get all of them back for that. God, I can’t believe they all actually called to see this”
“Well it’s been a long time coming” you smirk “Two friends going on a date”
“And who knows if they’re even gonna get together” Eddie snickers before taking your hand in his as he backs out of the driveway
“Maybe you’ll end up dumping spaghetti in my lap or something,” you say and he scoffs
“First of all, I’m not ruining that dress. Second of all, I’m not ordering spaghetti”
“I don’t believe you now. Should you even be driving?” You ask as you hold his hand in both of yours and he shrugs when he gets to the stop sign
“Do you know where we’re going?”
“No”
“So how are you supposed to drive us?” He raises an eyebrow and you roll your eyes
“There’s this weird little thing our phones have called GPS! Oh, and you know this other odd phenomenon, where humans? Yeah they can give directions” you sass him and he bites his lip, holding back a laugh
“You wanna drive that badly, Princess? Because I’ll let you. But I like the way you look in the passenger seat”
Your cheeks flush as you watch him driving, he looks over at you occasionally and you frown, because he’s making you all shy and mushy inside and you know he’s enjoying every second
“I’m just worried about your shoulder that’s all,” you say, all calm and proper and he smiles widely, squeezing your hand
“Thanks for worrying about me cutie”
“Thanks for worrying about me cutie” You mimic him and he chuckles, pulling his hand away and swatting your thigh
“So full of sass tonight huh?” You reach for his hand again and he pulls it away from you
“Nuh huh bad girls don’t get what they want”
Your mouth falls open and he looks over at you for a second, eying you up and down
“Something wrong Sugar Cube?”
“You give me your hand back right now!”
“Gotta beg for it, sweet girl”
“Eddieee” You whine and he swats your leg again
“Aren’t you lucky I can’t reach your ass right now… you want it back? you beg for it sweet thing or you’re just gonna have to sit by yourself and pout about it”
You cross your arms over your chest, huffing as you stare out the window. He smirks as he watches the road in front of him, watching you through the corner of his eye. You peek over at him a couple of times, watching the way he flexes his fingers on the wheel. You sigh quietly and lean your head on the window
“Please can I have your hand back” you mumble and he leans over
“Huh? I don’t think I heard you. Gotta speak louder Sugar Cube”
You grit your teeth, narrowing your eyes for a second before turning to him
“Please, can I please, please, have your hand back… I n-need you”
The little wobble in your voice gets him and his eyes roll back as he sets his hand back in your lap, locking his fingers with your”
“Good girl”
Tumblr media
Eddie opens the door for you and helps you out, making sure you bunch up the bottom of your dress a bit so it doesn’t get dirty. You take his arm and walk in, this place is nice. You know, oddly too nice to be called Angelo’s. But the fancy sign on the front kind of makes up for it
Vanny comes over immediately, hugging Eddie and cooing over how beautiful you look. She says that Buck talks about you all the time and you blush as you shake her hand warmly. She leads you both back to a quieter table, there’s not many people around and it can’t be seen from all sides
Yeah okay make out table makes sense.
There’s a bucket of ice, chilling a fancy champagne bottle, and little candles on the table. Red rose petals decorate the table and spill slightly onto the floor around it.
“Oh this is beautiful,” You say quietly, and Vanny winks at Eddie. They really did have this all planned out.
You scoot into one side of the small booth and Eddie sits on the other, his arm coming up to rest behind you, you blush as you look at him, and he boops your nose
“Aaron will be over soon to take your orders and there will be minimal interruptions. Everything is already taken care of, so please order whatever you’d like! You two enjoy your night!”
Vanny walks away and you scoot closer to Eddie, toying with his tie
“Can’t wait to light myself on fire! This is really romantic you know, who knew you had it in ya!” You poke at him and he scoffs
“I’ve been like top-tier romantic like sixty times okay” He tilts your chin up and places a soft kiss on your lips
“Champagne?”
“Yeah okay” you say softly, batting your eyelashes “What kind is it?”
Eddie fixes his sleeves to avoid getting them wet and grabs the bottle, drying it off a little
“Uhhh strawberry” He chuckles, popping the top “Kind of our thing” He pours you a glass, handing it to you, and then pours his own, he also blows out a couple of the little candles and pushes them away from you. Because you joke… but he can just see you burning the whole place down
“What should we toast to?” You ask watching him and he puts his arm back behind your shoulders
“Whatever you want Sugar cube,” He says, and the way he looks at you, with those deep brown eyes just melts you to your core, you sigh softly, tilting your head to the side and he bites his lip, chuckling a little
“Is it cheesy to say “to us” because that feels cheesy” you giggle and he smiles, nuzzling his nose against yours
“How about the tiger who bonded us with tiger PTSD”
You snort and laugh into his chest, nearly spilling your champagne in your lap, he holds your glass steady as you hide your laughs
“Or to that night you were a total nerd and took me to the car to warm me up before kissing me on the beach”
Eddie groans loudly and you laugh more
“Please god don’t remind me about that, I’ve thought about that way too much”
You pull away from him, wiping away little tears as your giggles die out
“You’ve thought about that?”
“Are you kidding me? I think about that night constantly… That was one of the best nights of my life. Which you know would have been ten times better had I not waited to kiss you like a dumbass”
You laugh through your nose and he rolls his eyes clinking your glasses together and you both sip
“If it helps… that was one of the best nights of my life too” you blush as you hide behind your champagne glass, taking a longer sip than necessary
“Really?” He’s blushing just as much
“Of course! I kinda felt like I was really yours you know? And like I was a part of the family…”
Eddie sips his champagne again, wondering  which one of you is gonna win drinking all of their alcohol first just to try and hide the blushing
“Just gonna drop that on me? In public? Where I can’t roll around and kick?”
You swat his chest and cover your mouth, he’s making you laugh way too much. But he likes the sound of your laugh, he likes the way it makes him feel.
“We should probably actually look at the menu” You tease as you grab yours, he doesn’t bother with his own, just stays close to you, laying his head on top of yours
“What sounds good to you Sugar cube?”
You look over the menu, humming softly “You know what we completely forgot to talk about?”
You feel Eddie’s finger running slowly up and down your arm
“Hm?”
“She said everything was taken care of? What the heck does that mean”
“That means Buck did a lot more than just get his make-out table” He sighs, pulling out his phone and calling him. You lean into him, enjoying his cologne that he put on a little heavier this time
“Did something happen??? Are you guys okay??” Buck answers immediately and you smile a little
“Yeah we’re fine,” Eddie says “Look, Vanny said everything was taken care of?”
“You’re calling me in the middle of your first date to tell me what I told her to tell you?”
He deadpans it and you snort
“We just wanted to tell you not to freaking do that,” You say and Buck curses under his breath
“My cousin, who is practically my sister, gets with my best friend in the entire world who is practically my brother - wait that's weird”
Eddie laughs
“Anyway. And you think for one damn second I’m not gonna pull strings for the both of you???”
“You really didn’t-“ Eddie starts and Buck cuts him off
“I did have to Eddie. Because I love you two more than anything in this entire world. Now shut the fuck up, hang the fuck up, and order the entire damn menu I don’t care. Just don’t call me again unless it’s an emergency”
You both hear the click of him hanging up and Eddie rolls his eyes
“Your brother is annoying”
“So is yours”
You both chuckle and go back to looking through the menu, you decide on chicken Alfredo, which Eddie teases you and says you always get and he decides on chicken Parmesan and you tease him back, saying he always gets that in a high-pitched voice and he scoffs
“I have no idea what you’re talking about”
He makes you both order different drinks so you guys can stop downing the champagne. They weren’t kidding when the bottle said it was high-quality stuff.
Aaron comes by and takes your orders, promising he won’t be back until it’s ready and you blush, he even adds it’ll probably be around 20 minutes and winks
“I’m not gonna lie this is a little embarrassing,” you say as soon as Aaron leaves and Eddie nods, putting his hand on your hip and pulling you into him
“Oh no it’s totally embarrassing”
He nuzzles his nose against yours before kissing you softly, he tastes good, like the strawberry champagne you’re both drinking, and a little minty from the toothpaste he used. You smile against his lips and he cups your cheek, deepening the kiss
“But we’re gonna do this anyway right?” You mumble against his lips, pulling him in closer by his lapels
“Oh hell yes”
You spend the majority of the 20 minutes halfway in his lap with his hand caressing and teasing the soft inside of your thigh, always inching closer but never where you want it. Your hand stays steadily over his crotch, and every time you lean in more he groans as you put more pressure on it. You can feel how hard he is through his perfectly tailored pants
“Quit it, you little tease” He growls against your lips and you giggle into his mouth as you attack him, wrapping your tongue around his. He whines and pulls you fully into his lap, wrapping his arms around your waist. You feel him shoving your dress up as high as he can without exposing you too much and your breath hitches as it bunches around your waist. He’s using the slit in your dress to his advantage, he’s so happy you were okay with such a high one too.
“Eddie Diaz!” You hiss, but it’s cut off by a soft moan as his hands knead your flesh
“Yes, baby?” his voice is sultry and teasing as he slides his hands under your dress, feeling over your bare hips.
Maybe this table wasn’t the best idea.
He’s busy kissing down your neck, and sliding your spaghetti straps down when someone clears their throat. You whimper when he pulls away, both of you panting harshly. You have just enough time to fix yourselves up when Aaron comes back with his serving tray, clearly walking slowly towards your table and setting it down on the table behind him. He hands you both your plates, and you thank him, a deep blush on your cheeks from totally being caught, while Eddie completely enjoys this.
Aaron sets a breadstick basket down which is full of a stupid amount of them and Eddie raises an eyebrow
“Buck?”
“Buck”
They say it at the same time and you grin, taking one “Oh he knows us so well”
Dinner is utterly delicious and you and Eddie both share, he starts a breadstick fight and it’s funny until half of his goes flying across the room, your mouths drop wide open as you watch it sail through the air, and that puts an end to the fight very quickly. Not to mention he bites yours in half when you’re not looking and smiles widely with his cheeks full when you ask where the heck it went
Eddie holds your strawberry lemonade for you as you sip it, watching the way your lips wrap around the straw
“So when are you gonna do that to me?” He asks suddenly and you choke on your lemonade, nearly spitting it out at him and literally through your nose. He throws your napkin at you, setting the glass back down so he doesn’t drop it with how hard he’s shaking from laughter as you cough up a lung and a half
“I’m going to kill you!” You wheeze and grab his water to clear your throat
“Not if I kill you first apparently”
You punch him in the stomach and he wheezes, bending over dramatically. He pretends to fall over but nearly topples out of the booth anyway You grab his arm, yanking him back towards you and he crashes into your chest
“I think we need to chill with the champagne” you giggle uncontrollably as Eddie keeps his head on your chest, nuzzling his face against your soft breasts and effectively getting glitter on his face. He sighs contentedly as your cheeks flush deeply
“I thought we already did”
“You’re literally buried in my boobs” You gesture down to him and he looks up at you
“Oh this is just because I can”
“Eddie!!”
Tumblr media
You both eat way too many of the breadsticks after that, just to sober up some. Or else neither of you will be driving home tonight, which Eddie teases would be just fine with him because that would mean he could get you in the backseat.
The lights around you have been dimmed and bit and neither of you is really sure what time it is, but you’ve been promised they’ll stay all night if you’d like. Aaron whispers something in Eddie’s ear and he smirks, looking you over before nodding to him
Eddie has no idea what the hell kind of connections Buck has but he’s loving them.
Dinner plates have been taken away and you’re given a dessert menu
“I’m pretty sure I’m way too stuffed for dessert,” you say, patting your tummy and he chuckles, nodding his head
“Maybe we can just take it home… or, maybe we could dance it off?”
Literally on cue, a man walks over as Aaron puts a computer down, bowing politely before putting a violin to his chin. Your mouth drops open as Eddie scoots out from the booth and holds his hand out
“Can I have this dance, Sugar Cube?”
You start giggling as you get out of the booth “That was the smoothest thing ever”
Eddie gets so giddy as you take his hand, wiggling a little “Oh my god I know right that was so hot. Like I don’t mean to toot my own horn but damn we were on time” He puts his hand up and the man high-fives it before going back to playing for the two of you with his accompaniment
Eddie holds you close to his chest, just where he likes you to always be. You dance together smoothly, swaying back and forth for a bit before he makes you do a little spin and you giggle
“Okay wait is this Wildest Dreams??” You ask and Eddie smirks as you come back to his chest
“Yeah, you like Bridgerton right? I thought you’d like this”
Your mouth drops and he grins widely
“Oh we’re officially getting married someday” You joke and he shrugs
“I thought that was already established but okay”
Your mouth drops open as you freeze in place, staring at him. “Y-you want-??”
He looks down at you “More than-“ He can’t bring himself to finish the sentence as he stares into your eyes, watching the way they sparkle just for him. Because neither of you could handle that right now, you’re not even “daTiNG” yet. You haven’t even said that you- you haven’t even said those three little words that are constantly on the tip of his tongue in everything he does with you, every day he spends with you.
But how could he say that to you? He’s not even sure you could say that to him. It’s… god it’s not that he doesn’t want to either, he’s just- afraid not ready. What if he isn’t good enough for you? What if he hurts you? What if he has another PTSD attack and you decide you can’t deal with that? That you can’t love him if he’s like that.
Neither of you can even breathe in this moment, you know for sure you’re not. Because you want to say it. But you can’t bring yourself to, because what if he doesn’t say it back? You know Eddie by now, you know he lets his insecurities get in the way of living sometimes and this just feels like one of those things he can’t do unless he’s ready.
But you’d sure as hell spend a lot of time helping him work through them because he’s worth it. No matter how much reassurance it took, no matter how many hours you spent learning to help someone with PTSD so you could help him. You’d take the time to do it.
So you’ll wait, you’ll wait for him to say it first. Because you know what you feel, you know you’ll never feel this way for anyone else for as long as you live. So you just give him a little smile, a little smile that you know he’s gonna know exactly what it means. You watch the way he relaxes, you see the little tears in the corner of his eyes that he blinks away and just puts your head down against his chest.
He wants you to hear his heart beating solely for you, because without a doubt, both of you know what you’re saying at that point.
I see you, I hear you. I-
“Patience, Sugar Cube. First, we have to stop pretending to be friends”
Tumblr media
“Why did this kind of feel like all our other hangouts? Just fancier” You ask Eddie as you lean against the front door, you dig through your bag to find your keys
“Aha!” You pull them out and look up and he’s staring down at you with that look in his eyes. Your hand falls to your sides slowly as you reach up for him, pulling him down to your height and kissing him. It feels different now, you’re not really sure why… it feels… like the start of something
“I don’t think this was our first date baby girl” He says against your lips, settling his hands on your waist
“I think I’ve been an idiot calling you a friend this entire time…Because let’s be honest… you’re my girl”
“But we’re not gonna tell them that right?” You ask softly, feeling his emotions through the way he kisses you and he smiles, nodding
“Nope”
“So…” you pull away a little, looking at him, the moon and the stars shine behind him and they don’t hold a candle to the way he looks right now.
“Will you please, finally be my girlfriend?” He asks softly, nuzzling your nose a little with his “I refuse to go one more day not calling you mine”
It’s funny, the way your heart beats out of your chest when he asks that. Because really… haven’t you been his girlfriend this entire time? But that little label that both of you denied for so long, the reasons you denied it all seems stupid now
“Okay. Eddie’s girl kinda has a nice ring to it anyway”
Eddie scoops you up in his arms, spinning you around as you squeal and giggle. Your lips find his and he moans into your mouth, making sure you wrap your legs securely around his waist.
Your back hits the front door and you gasp, as he grinds against you, your cunt already starting to drip into your panties
“Eddie!! Buck is home!” You hiss and he scoffs.
“We’re outside… you didn’t seem to mind when he was down the stairs”
Your mouth drops open and he snickers, setting you on your feet gently and kissing you, his tongue sliding into your mouth and wrapping around yours immediately. The way he teases you laps at your tongue like he’s ready to devour you… maybe you’re gonna have to kick Buck out.
Eddie reaches down for your keys now, taking his time finding the right one as you two kiss. He’s just about to stick it into the lock when the door whooshes open.
“Jes- Buck?!” Eddie curses and you squeak, jumping and nearly falling backward into the house. Eddie grabs your arms, yanking you against his chest.
“Why!??” Eddie pinches the bridge of his nose and Buck just stands there, smiling like the sweet little adorable angel he is
“Oh! I just thought you were ready to go”
“Ready to go where?” He asks and you giggle, leaning your head against his chest
“Duh back to your place”
“You’re coming back to my place? Since when??”
“Since my best friend had his first date with the girl of his dreams and me and Chim set it up??” He scoffs like that’s common knowledge and takes your keys from Eddie’s hand, placing them nicely in yours
“Come on they’re waiting” he walks right between you two and Eddie throws his hands in the air, exasperated
“Who’s waiting?” He gives you a quick kiss and you laugh, leaning against the door frame and watching him follow after Buck
“Chim and a uh…friend of mine! Y/N, Maddie, and Hen are inside! Have a good night!!” He runs back and kisses you on the cheek, giving you a tight squeeze as Eddie gets into the passenger side of his own car, he knows Buck isn’t gonna let him drive
“Don’t worry, Maddie is gonna text me everything and I swear I’ll keep it a secret!!” He ruffles your hair and you push his hand away, swatting at him
“Alright, okay!! Go!!”
Eddie stares at you from the window and you give him a little wave, blowing him a kiss. He smiles and shakes his head and you know he’s blushing. He actually catches it and kisses his hand and you giggle, rolling your eyes at how cute he is
What a way to end your first date
“Oh come on! One date and I have to suffer through this now!!” Buck stomps his way to the car and gets in, flipping you both off as he drives away

╰┈➤: ̗̀➛ A BOUQUET of (f/flower) and a box of special chocolates. Ryusei was carrying them while he skipped his way to your house. He already imagined your reaction to the gifts. Especially the special chocolate for tonight. He knew you would be as exhilarated as him.
The tanned man went all the way out to dress himself fancily today. His hair was not styled in the usual away, left in natural form as he remembered how much you drooled over him with his hair down before. Pitch black compress shirt hugging his muscular physique. He had never worn like this before but apparently, according to some of your secret spicy notes he accidentally read before, anyone of any gender wearing this kind of clothing immediately made you drop down on your knees.
He wondered how would you react after seeing him.
Standing outside your entrance door, Ryusei proceeded to ring the doorbell. He waited for a good minute yet no one answered the door. Confused, he rang the doorbell for the second time. Disappointingly, nobody welcomed him in.
'Entering without their permission doesn't mean I'm breaking in. I'm just surprising them!' The soccer player thought optimistically. Unlocking the gate of the property, Ryusei casually turned the doorknob of your house. Unexpectedly, the door was unlocked. Now, he, being the caring yet obsessive boyfriend he was, felt his heart dropped.
'Did something happen to my love..?' His face darkened with murderous intent at the thought of someone harming you. Ryusei placed the bouquet and chocolates box on the kitchen counter, silently making his way upstairs to your room. You were staying home alone due to your parents travelling for work.
Now standing outside your room, Ryusei pushed open the door wider. To his relief, he saw you lying on your bed, unaware of his presence. Sobbing filled the dark room and his worry for you worsened. "(Y/n)?" He called you out softly. Shocked to hear another voice besides yours, you removed the comforter concealing your figure.
"Ryu...?" you spoke up with croaked voice. Ryusei hurried to your side and sat down on your bed. "Love, what's wrong?" He asked, gripping your shoulders. You wiped away the tears that seemed to trickle down your face continuously. His smile faltered, his eyes filled with worry never averting from your face.
Not wanting to force an answer out of you, Ryusei pulled you into a hug and rubbed small circles on your back. "There, there... I'm here for you now. Cry your heart out, alright?" He whispered into your ear. Something inside you snapped and you hugged him tightly. Your cries became louder and you wailed from the top of your lungs in the arms of your beloved boyfriend. Your shaking hands clutched the back of his black compress shirt.
Ryusei no longer felt horny like he did earlier since he just witnessed you bawling your eyes out.
'Must be one of their episodes.. It isn't a new thing to see them suddenly crying their heart out when they are alone. I should do something to cheer my love up.' Ryusei schemed a perfect plan in his head.
Ryusei broke apart from you, and then took your hands in his. You confusedly blinked your teary eyes at him. Before you knew it, you were dragged out of the bedroom to downstairs.
"R-Ryu, where are we going?"
"Somewhere fun, where sadness can't have its way with you!"
"But I'm...ugly..." You admitted, pointing out the fact you weren't as well-dressed as him right now.
"You look hella fine already, love!"
Ryusei exclaimed excitedly, making his way out of the house with you. You didn't feel like leaving the house but knowing your boyfriend, he would prohibit you being alone right now. You had no way of defying him and his enthusiasm.
After a while, you and Ryusei arrived at the Shinkansen station. You silently sat next to him while the tanned man hummed a song that sounded way too familiar for you.
Ryusei saw the tears glistening in your eyes and knew you needed comfort. With a tender gesture, he offered you one of his earphones, his fingers brushing softly with yours as you accepted.
As you and Ryusei leaned in close, the music weaved a delicate tapestry of memories, each note stirring emotions long buried. With every chord, you were transported back to moments of laughter and tenderness, ones that you shared with your only love, Ryusei. When you shifted your gaze to him, his eyes shut close as his smile decorated his handsome face.
Your heart was swelling with warmth and affection. You hooked your arms with his, holding him for dear life. A few globs of tears rolled down your face, touched by his kindness.
Several moments passed, the Shinkansen arrived at the destination. Ryusei eagerly engulfed your hand in his, then stormed out of the train.
"Ryu, slow down! I can't run as fast as you!"
"Then!"
Ryusei swiftly picked you up bridal style mid-running, then continued sprinting his way as if your weight amounted to nothingness to him. You freaked out, frightened by the speed he was running at.
"Ryu! Maybe we should ride the cab!"
"It's not that far from train station! I can manage! Plus, this is more romantic!"
"Everyone is watching-"
"Who cares! They are just jealous of us!"
Ryusei remained stubborn, refusing to listen to your suggestion. You wrapped your arms around his neck, shutting your eyes close. You could feel the wind brushing against your skin.
Once you felt as if the world had stopped turning, you parted your eyes open back. Ryusei put you down, breathing raggedly. In the end, he used out all his stamina to reach this place, the place he had been dying to show to you.
'I plan to bring them here on their birthday but..early birthday present doesn't sound so bad.' He grinned, awaiting your reaction.
You were in awe.
Your eyes widened in wonder as you beheld the scene before you. A gentle breeze rustled the leaves overhead, sending ripples dancing across the surface of the pristine lake. The water glimmered like a mirror, reflecting the lush greenery that enveloped its shores. Birds chirped melodiously in the background, adding to the symphony of nature.
"There's such place in the middle of the city..?" You exclaimed in disbelief.
Your gasp echoed in the tranquil air as you turned to your boyfriend. His eyes sparkled with anticipation as he watched you, a soft smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
"Fucking amazing, right? Found it by chance that one time a cab driver dumped me here since I got no money to pay. I know you abso-fucking-lutely love nature-- second to me of course."
With each step toward the lake, you felt the weight of sadness lift from your shoulders, replaced by a profound sense of serenity. As you gazed at your reflection shimmering in the crystalline waters, a wave of tranquility washed over you. The beauty of the scene seemed to seep into your soul, dispelling the clouds of doubt and worry that had plagued you earlier.
Ryusei walked beside you. Tears welled in your eyes once more, but they were no longer borne of sorrow-- it was of overwhelming joy and gratitude. You surged forward and hugged him, sobbing in his arms softly.
"Thanks... I really love this place. Thank you, Ryu."
"Anything for you, my love♡"
Ryusei kissed the top of your head, grinning from ear-to-ear. He was always the happiest man on earth when he saw you smiling and happy. You chuckled, burying your face in his toned chest.
Untangling yourself from Ryusei, your gaze fixed on his clothes. Heat spread across your cheeks upon noticing the sleeveless compress shirt he was wearing, showing perfect curves and muscles of his physique. His grin widened before he encircled your waist in his arms.
"You love it? I wear this only for you, baby."
"You are so gorgeous wearing that.."
Cupping his cheeks, you praised Ryusei from the bottom of your heart. Delighted, he smashed his lips against yours, his tongue dancing in your mouth.
"I'm glad. Now...how about we sit down and enjoy the scenery? Take all the time you need to stay here."
"Okay!"
Feeling energetic again, you grabbed his hand and led Ryusei to a bench nearby. Without you knowing, a smirk curved on the man's lips as a naughty idea struck him.
'Now we can recreate that spicy scene we saw in that one movie. Surrounded by nature, their favourite thing, and doing my favourite thing at the same time. A win-win for us surely♡'
He couldn't wait to show you his next spontaneous surprise.
