My Puss in Boots: The Last Wish Headcanon

Puss, Kitty and Perrito a.k.a. Perro can't eat chocolate, grapes, raisins, cherries(But thankfully, they're not allergic to cherry blossom trees and they're not allergic to cherry blossoms either.) and avocados because they're fatally allergic to them.

Just like Puss, Kitty is deathly allergic to shellfish. Also, Both Puss and Kitty are both fatally allergic to citrus fruits.

Since one of his deaths from his shellfish allergy, he avoids shellfish dishes.

Perrito a.k.a. Perro doesn't like to eat shellfish, citrus fruits, vinegar, sour foods, sour sweets and raspberries. However, he loves apples, bananas(occasionally), blueberries, cucumbers, watermelons, mangoes, fresh and soft peaches, pears, cantaloupe(sometimes) and strawberries(sometimes).

Puss having anxiety/trauma/PTSD/panic attack was realistically portrayed without being gloryfied(His mental health problems were not played for comedy and they were not made fun of either.). I want to comfort poor Puss(Comforts Puss).

Perro a.k.a. Perrito being there for Puss by silently but gently and lovingly comforting Puss through panic attack/anxiety/trauma/PTSD is heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time.

Just bitching about subtitles again, whoever does the English subtitles for Kimi ni Todoke on Netflix doesn't know how to caption non-verbal sounds. When a character makes a little thoughtful "mm?" sound or a surprised "hm!" sound (the kind these characters are constantly making because they audibly react every time they have an emotion) that is not a moan. It's a soppy teenage romantic comedy, not a porno!

Puss’ anxiety, fear, PTSD/trauma and even panic attack were played realistically(His mental health issues were not made fun of and they were not played for comedy. They were not glorifyied either.) and Perrito a.k.a. Perro being there for Puss and comforting him quietly but gently is sad and heartwarming at the same time. I love Puss' character arc too - Accepting that it’s okay to be scared and vulnerable, learning to ask for and accept help, talking about his feelings, opening up to others and being there for them, learning and appreciating the value of life from his time with Kitty and Perro a.k.a. Perrito and accepting that death is inevitable but deciding that he’s going to live his life to the fullest.

Ok so something I just realized, so in PiB the last wish, a common complaint/plot hole people point out is that; why didn't puss ask Shrek, Fiona Donkey, Gingy, etc for help?

Reminder that Puss left Kitty at the alter, and he likely invited all of his friends. All of his friends watched Puss in Boots leave this woman at the alter and destroyed her last sense of trust. Also Gingy was in Death #7; so likely there's been some time since he's last talked to them.

And reminder that when Shrek/Fiona and Dragon/Donkey settled down, got married and had triplets it was the happiest part of their lives. Of course they wouldn't want to speak again to him after he left Kitty at the Altair. And remember when puss says that he rides alone and that he doesn't need friends? It's likely he lost all his friends after that. Hell death #7 could've been him baking his wedding cake.

That's the reason why he was so hesitant to become friends with perro in the first place, he was probably scared of hurting him like he did to Kitty and (indirectly) to his friends.

i drew Perrito not long after Puss In Boots the Last Wish was released. He subverted my expectations of him being a silly laughingstock only. We all need a friend like him.
