"DNI: Standard DNI criteria" is so funny, like anyone checking if they should interact is gonna be familiar enough with dni's to know the standard redundant options. really exposes the purpose of them, they signal an in-group to other people with the same DNI rather than actually being a warning for potentially unwanted interactions.

More people in fandom need to learn the phrase "reasonable people can differ." Like, I'm not against pointing about issues in canon and fandom especially in regards to "problematic" content, but the second you assert that your opinion is absolutely right and that everyone needs to agree with you ... yeah, you've crossed the line.

Like, one person can think, "I find the portrayal of mental illness in this show to be deeply problematic and I think it's harmful towards the community." And another person can say, "Actually, I found the portrayal to be incredibly accurate, sympathetic, and humanizing. I though the show explored it really well and I loved the direction they took." And both opinions are valid and there can be reasonable discourse and discussion about these respective opinions.

But, nah, fandom likes to take the route of automatically labeling something as purely good or purely bad and attacking anyone who thinks otherwise ignoring the fact that we all have different lenses and experiences from which we engage with media with. Fandom is gonna differ.

You can argue, you can block, and you can be quite passionate about your opinions, but, please, take a step back and remember that people are sometimes gonna interpret things differently from you.

project 2025 is kind of funny because it's not anything new, it's everything the republican party has obviously been trying to do forever, but actually writing it out in detail made things worse because I guess not everyone had already thought something like "hey maybe this politician who doesn't want you to send your kids to public school wishes public school didn't exist"...

My tattoo artist told me his teenage son came out to him as trans by giving him a bunch of blue cupcakes and a greeting card that said "it's a boy!"

one reason abusive and neglectful parenting is common that people are scared to acknowledge is the sheer amount of couples who only had children because it was expected of them. as a result, they're going to first and foremost view their children as a status symbol, something to prove they're a good family.
