tbh I don't think purple Rook is funny :|
#Like I saw the appeal in purple Hawke but purple Rook is meh#tho I could be biased since I went with red Rook first go through but she didn't feel aggressive/straightforward most of the time#Because outside of dialogue wheel choices the rest of her dialogue was pretty jokey#So it felt like whoever wrote for Rook saw the popularity of purple Hawke and made Rook their spiritual successor in a way

I hope I'll actually be able to make Renzo a menace and a true successor to Purple Hawke with a clownery degree, so his relationship with Lucanis is just this from Lucanis' perspective:
#rookanis#lucanis x rook#lucanis#rook dragon age#dragon age the veilguard#oc: renzo#oc: renzo de riva#lucaren#dragon age#dav#i saw one flirt option and it was sweet and i just hope there are opportunities to be funny instead#i don't wanna 'fix' anyone let me seduce an awkward assassin man with an idiot who can make him laugh or something#you could be a clown and romance fenris so i want to respect the tradition

I always think DAO and DA2 are good games albeit in different aspects. DAO's plot is the traditional crpg style- the world is ending, and the protagonist has to save it. What it does well is the cool origin system and the quests- nothing to novel, but they are well-written with good world-building.
DA2 is the "wildcard". Hawke is partly the cause of the tragedy (though they don't know it when they unearthed the lyrium idol) and no matter what they do, they are involved somehow. It fits as Hawke isn't some larger-than-life hero, rather than a normal person who happened to be caught in the middle of several mess. And that's why it is so brilliantly written. The companions also feel like a tight knit group of friends (albeit a bit dysfunctional, but hey, can you blame them given the circumstances?).
Also, did I mention the friendship/rivalry system? It's such a stroke of genius, shame that it's not seen in later games.
These two games also have very fun combat, but that's probably because I am primarily a tactical player. I don't enjoy action-style combat as much as I enjoy planning and devising combos, so I guess that's why I love 1&2 combat better than the rest.
The other two games... I don't know. I feel like the inquisition's biggest problem is the "open world" feel, where you have to grind levels to unlock main quests. The side quests are, to put quite bluntly, boring. And the gap between main quests is so long that sometimes I forget what I am supposed to do. I feel like dai is an imitation of DAO, but it isn't a very good one, the same way that DATV isn't a good successor of DA2. Neither game learns what makes their predecessors outstanding, and that's why I don't rate them as highly. Granted, they are still good games on their own, it's just unfortunate that they come after masterpieces.
(and a little note about solas- it's actually the character that surprises me, but not in a good way. I expect myself to like him, considering my track record of liking problematic apostates, but... Well, I just don't. I still find his character fascinating, but he is not as compelling as Morrigan or Anders. I also don't ship him & Lavellan as hard as I ship Warden & Morrigan and Hawke & Anders. But at the same time, speaking of lies- I do like Blackwall's arc. He is probably my favourite character from DAI, which is kind of surprising considering that spot is usually taken up by a mage.)
And if you read DA2's opening carefully, you'll see heavy implications that Hawke was slated to become the Inquisitor. And it would have been awesome. The "here lies the abyss" mission would have been so much more compelling with Flemeth's prophecy. And to think we'll hear more purple Hawke's lines... It'll be such a treat. I'll forever mourn the loss of Inquisitor Hawke the same way I'll mourn that there won't be a Tyranny 2 😔

based on this, meet rook.
i was gonna do an elf and i have started an elven female playthrough, but i need to think through the backstory more for that one.
for this one, he was clear as day in my head with his pale ass and genetic sass, and i've already had a backstory since ages ago. purple hawke (my beloved), this is the spiritual successor and i guess, cousin (first time playing a guy first in da, as my mains are female rogue tabris, mage marian and female mage lavellan).
few things:
name's winfred. human mage. not thorne, but so far that's the only canon divergent thing. one of the four unnamed siblings of warden amell and revka amell's child.
in my head he only has sisters, but i'll leave that only as default and up to plotting, especially if anyone else wants to make characters (5 kids to choose from, you know? and one's a canon warden). i feel like he might be the middle child.
grey warden like his eldest sibling. how that happened and backstory coming soon.
since they rarely send siblings to the same circles, he drew the unlucky straw and got sent to orlais, of all places. whether he ended up in the circle though, is a whole other thing. this has resulted with slight orlesian accent slipping through with certain words sometimes.
the extensive scarring are courtesy of a dragon that he'd acquired young. you'd think this would repel him from dragon encounters, but actually got him obsessed with dragons instead.
#this is my worstie.#i'm so behind on playing because i ended up being away from home all day yesterday but.#GONNA ADD HIM k <3#this one doesn't really have spoilers as i didn't talk about anything game specific#but it does contain vague screenshots of a character so.#idk just in my head he was pale and had the family eyes.

I somehow ended up reading a lot of My Hero Academia fanfiction despite never watching the anime or reading the manga, and I would now like to explain the plot to you based on what I’ve discovered:
So there’s this green haired boy named Izuku Midoriya who has a mother named Inko and a dad who’s a businessman who works overseas, and he’s obsessed with ‘quirks’ which are superpowers that loads of characters have that manifest when they’re five years old? It all started with some glowing baby that I think the main villain All for One killed?
Anyway Izuku is quirkless but obsessed with the number one hero All Might (real name Toshinori Yagi, mentored by the Seventh One for All holder Nana - Shimura? - and some other older guy who was also a holder maybe) and when he’s in middle school his childhood friend turned bully Katsuki Bakugo who has some sort of fire quirk tries to make him jump off a roof to his death (not cool Kacchan) and Izuku ends up fighting a slime monster with All Might.
Eventually All Might feeds Izuku one of his hairs and Izuku becomes the successor to his quirk One for All which was started when the sickly twin brother of All for One, Yoichi, who was kept in a vault for some reason, had a quirk forced upon him by his brother but it combined with a hidden quirk that he didn’t know about and it got passed down to loads of heroes and combined with their quirks along the way so now it’s a super OP ability.
I know Izuku goes to a hero school in class 1A (I think) and he has classmates like a girl who can make things float, a boy with a brother who’s a hero and is a stickler for rules/a know it all, a boy with train feet (might be the same guy), an awful tiny purple boy who looks like a bunch of grapes and hits on all his female classmates making them uncomfortable, Bakugo and a boy named Shoto Todoroki whose dad is the number 2 hero Endeavour who has a fire quirk (he’s totally not salty about it and I think his name is Enji) and he has a sister named Fuyumi, a brother named (I’m pretty sure) Natsuo and a brother named Touya who was pushed by their abusive dad into being a great hero as a kid so he ran away, got recruited by All for One and is now a super angsty villain called Dabi who planned a big reveal dance to confront his dad who thought he was dead and wants to kill his brother Shoto.
All for One also has a successor called Tomura Shigaraki who had this decay quirk which he found out about when he accidentally killed his dad, his mother, his sister Hana and his corgi Monchan (a lot of people got really upset about that understandably) and they’re served by Nomu (dead people combined with other dead people to make monsters?) and one of them is the dead remains of the old best friend of the teacher of Izuku’s class (Eraserhead) who is really tired all the time and is friends with some other Mic hero who has a quirk which makes him super loud.
All for One is scary because he wants his dead brother’s quirk back and can take any quirk he wants so he’s the head of the Criminal Underworld but his face and basically entire body got caved in thanks to a Plus Ultra from All Might so he has to wear a breathing apparatus and is really more of a backseat driver for a lot of the show/movies/manga.
I picked up some other random stuff like a boy called Rody Soul from one of the movies whose quirk is a bird that I think reflects his emotions, a girl named Toga who’s also evil and part of the League of Villains and has a quirk where she can take the form of anyone whose blood she drinks and a little girl named Eri who was held captive by a mob and experimented on because her quirk, Rewind, could rewind people’s ages (I think). I also know at some point there was a training camp for Izuku’s class in a forest, All Might and Izuku have a father-son relationship, a hero named Hawks was trained by the shady hero company that basically runs Japan since childhood to be a hero and might have accidentally killed his friend, and Madds Buckley writes incredible songs for this fandom. Did I miss anything out?

Day 11 brings us a chapter I hadn’t heard of before, the Hawk Lords!
The Hawk Lords, unlike most Space Marine chapters, don’t like using drop pods (which are basically orbital assault vehicles; pack a bunch of Marines into a can, throw them from orbit, it slams into the battlefield, and the Marines come out guns blazing). Instead, the Hawk Lords rely a lot on gunships for orbital assault and fire support. Effectively, they rely on far-future helicopters.
The Hawk Lords also designed a fancy new style of jetpack that can carry a particularly heavy Marine into battle.
And... that’s it. That’s 100% of the knowledge I can find on the Hawk Lords. There is very, very little information on these guys. It’s not even clear who they’re descended from; old lore lists them as being successors of both the Raven Guard and the Ultramarines. The latter may be more likely, since when they were a legion, the Ultramarines had a unit with skilled pilots called ‘the Hawks’.
That’s it. That’s what I got. Except for one additional note: Aesthetically, these guys sure do resemble the III Legion, the Emperor’s Children. Led by the Primarch Fulgrim, the Emperor’s Children pursued skill in dueling and absolute perfection in warfare. They were vainglorious and arrogant, which led them down the road to damnation. They also were, at the time, the only legion allowed to wear the Emperor’s own symbol--the double-headed eagle called the palatine aquila (the heads represent the dual empire of the Imperium and the Mechanicum). Now we got these purple guys with their own eagle-style emblem? Interesting, interesting.

Having children had never been Hisashi’s plan. He’d wanted a successor to his role in the underworld. He chose to use Shimura Nana’s grandson for it as soon as he heard of the boy. It was easy to goad the father more and more to get him angrier at his family.
Hisashi was old. He was ancient, and while he’d like to stay alive for much longer, he also lost interest in the Japanese underworld. It was time to move on. And using the grandson of one of the annoyances seemed perfect. He’d also hoped to continue the game he started with the annoyances. Drawing the fools to a new continent would be fascinating.
Then he’d had a child. His marriage to Inko was based on sex and a little vacation for him. He’d never meant to have a child. But he’d wondered what sort of Quirk he’d have. The ability to steal Quirks just by wanting them? No touching or tentacles needed? A copy Quirk?
Sadly the child had no Quirk. Or so Hisashi thought as he dismissed the boy. He’d provide for Inko and Izuku but barely did he care about them. Inko was for stress relief, and Izuku was just there. However, it seemed Hisashi had been wrong.
Izuku did have a Quirk. An analytic one? Something that let him use One for All to its fullest potential. The sound of that Quirk… Hisashi wanted it. Sadly the damn thing probably got eaten by One For All like all the rest. No matter, his son would be easy to sweep into the fold with Tomura, one of his possible lovers. Perhaps he could gain the Quirk later on. Or hell, maybe he would let Tomura loose from the various brainwashing Quirks. It would be fun to see that happen, Tomura fighting against him when Hisashi taught him everything.
Hisashi chuckled. Oh, he was going to be entertained.

Nejire had never been happier that she preferred women as when she saw the stink eyes Mirio and Tamaki were getting when they walked into the arena. They’d been contacted by Nezu, who requested they come in order to ‘keep all variables under control.’
Ha. More like the principal wanted to get some entertainment. Nejire was one of the big three, even if she didn’t act like it. She knew Nezu found this hilarious and wanted to see what would happen. It was all right; Nejire found it hilarious too.
“Man, they’re reeeeeally mad,” she said in her best sing-song as they walked through the halls. They were passing by three different class 1A members at once, all shooting a glare at them. Definitely, Nezu’s doing.
“Would you stop that,” Tamaki whined.
“Hmmm… nope!” Nejire giggled. “Oh, look! Midoriya!” She pointed at a screen showing him and the purple-haired boy who’d shown up as one of the guy’s lovers. Mirio and Tamaki snapped to attention. Midoriya’s face was incredibly red as the other kid leaned in, grinning wildly. Izuku took a step back, squeaking and then froze. The mic on the stage caught the following words.
“I’d ask for a kiss, but brainwashing you to do so is full-on disgusting. So walk out of the ring, all right babe?” the boy asked, and Izuku began obeying, walking away.
“No!” Mirio looked upset as Tamaki groaned.
“This is gonna hurt him.” the soft boy whispered, and Nejire hummed, watching the screen. It looked like a win until a sudden gust of air occurred, Midoriya’s fingers breaking. He turned around to face the purple guy, who looked shocked.
“How…” Midoriya didn’t answer him, rushing the other to throw him out of the ring even as he began grappling. Sadly the purple guy didn’t have as much muscle.
“Midoriya is the winner!” Midnight cried out. The mics caught the rest still.
“How did you…”
“I… I think One for All did something… I think I saw ghosts… can you brainwash me again?”
“...Yeah, sure.”
“Man!” Mirio laughed. “Izuku is awesome!”
“Yeah…” Tamaki said in his gentle way, eyes becoming hearts. Nejire grinned. She needed to make Midoriya her friend right now. Finding out how Quirk might have ghosts and then asking to be brainwashed to see them? Hell yeah, sign her up for that friendship.

Izuku sat in the infirmary, looking at his hand as Recovery Girl patched it up. His brain was running in two different directions.
1- Ghosts. So his Quirk had ghosts now, apparently. All right then, he was going to beg for answers from All Might. There had to be an answer.
2- Holy shit, he was going to be in the final battle at the sports festival. There was no other reaction other than panicked screaming inside of his head.
“Young Midoriya?” All Might said, entering the room. Izuku looked up at him with wide eyes.
“I’m in the finals!” he squeaked. All Might chuckled.
“You are! Right where you deserve to be, my boy!” the man laughed as Recovery Girl sighed.
“I suppose that’s true, but please be more cautious, Midoriya,” she told the boy. “The world’s eyes are on yourself right now, and you need to be careful with your Quirk.” She paused. “Why hasn’t your original Quirk helped?”
“I… maybe cause I don’t know how to use it….” Izuku frowned. From the sounds of it, his original Quirk was based on analysis that worked primarily when he held a different power inside of him. So why didn’t it work?
“Have you come at it sideways?” a new voice asked. The pro-Hero Hawks appeared in the doorway. Izuku squealed, unable to hide it, hands covering his mouth.
“Ohmygodit’sHawks!” he muttered. Hawks gave him a grin.
“Sup, kid? You’ve caused quite a stir.” Hawks said, a brief look of exhaustion crossing his face before vanishing.
“Oh…” Izuku said, remembering what had been revealed. “Uh…”
“How are you, Hawks?” All Might asked, looking at the younger hero in worry. The winged hero shook his head.
“Been better. Nezu reached out and asked me to come by. Agent Zero requested I get a neutral party to look me over to check everything the Commission did, so I came by to ask Recovery Girl if she can fit me in later.” Hawks nodded to the healer, who replied affirmatively.
“I’m not a full doctor, but I can check you over and direct you to an actual doctor who can give you a better idea.” Recovery Girl said. She frowned. “When was the last time you took a break?”
“My hero contract has me taking a day off every three weeks.” Hawks said dryly. All Might choked, eyes wide as Recovery Girl cursed loudly. “I know.”
“Hawks… that’s horrible!” Izuku said, shaking his head. The winged hero waved a hand.
“I’m aware, Midoriya. I’m not that blinded by them,” Hawks sighed. “Hearing two futures I was in, one where I had a kid and a spouse, one where I went villain… it shocked me. I realized that I couldn’t see those futures, too focused on being the Commission’s hero.” Hawks shook his head. “So, thanks. Thank you for showing me I was blind.”
“...You’re welcome.” Izuku swallowed. “Umm… two futures?” He could only remember one future.
“Oh, right.” Hawks grinned. “Takami Keigo, at your service. Apparently, you and I can end up brothers-in-law.” He laughed.
“Oh! The Todoroki… right.” Izuku smiled at Hawks. “It’s nice to meet you… uhh, what did you mean by coming at my Quirk sideways?”
“I can move my feathers telekinetically,” Hawks explained. “I can’t hear when they’re away from me, but I can still use them to pick up noise because that causes vibrations I can feel. That’s not something you can just guess at. Come at your Quirk, both of them, sideways.”
“Oh… wowthatissocoolitwouldrequirealot… wait, no One for All.” Izuku frowned, closing his eyes as All Might chuckled. Hawks sat down on a bench, drawing a look from Recovery Girl.
“Safest place to hide right now. I don’t want to deal with people clamouring for my attention. I’ve got a lot to think on.” Hawks explained. Izuku tuned it out, thinking. Come at it sideways.
All right so One for All is a stockpiling Quirk. It can stockpile strength and apparently Quirks which I can access due to my original Quirk, which… helps me understand Quirks. I have a that work will lose some meaning by the end of today. Though it does explain my interest in Quirks though it… doesn’t feel right thinking that it’s because of my Quirk I’m good at analysis… probably my Quirk actually poking me. It gave me interest but the rest is me. So… analyze One for All. It’s a stockpile where I needed to build muscle mass to contain it inside my body, and I break limbs when I focus…
“I am an idiot,” Izuku announced, eyes opening.
“Completely obvious?” Hawks asked in amusement.
“I need to activate it in my whole body.” Izuku groaned. “Not just a limb!” The rest of the room traded wide-eyed looks, all wondering why they hadn’t thought of that either.
They were all idiots.

Izuku stepped out of the infirmary to stop. He closed his eyes. “How many people am I going to almost run into?” he asked, unable to help it. Tokoyami chuckled, shrugging as Dark Shadow popped out of him, cheering.
“Midoriya!” the shadow being said, leaning towards Izuku.
“Cease, Dark Shadow,” Tokoyami scolded. “The champion of the light is not yet a partner.”
“Yet, huh?” laughed Hawks, coming out of the infirmary. Tokoyami jerked back, eyes wide as Shouji and Asui stopped short behind him.
“Hawks?” Shouji asked in surprise.
“Are you here to keep an eye on Izu-chan, kero?” Asui asked with a croak. Izuku blinked. Right she asked him to call her Tsu. Her words got grumpy looks from the two boys as Dark Shadow pouted.
“Sort of. Here to avoid a lot of the press.” Hawks explained. “You guys did good out there. Great teamwork!” he grinned. “I know a lot of us heroes saw and made a note of it, even if you might not have made it higher.” The trio beamed.
“Indeed,” All Might said, not bothering to puff up. “We all did.”
“Thank you…” Tokoyami looked at him in confusion. All Might shrugged with a smirk. Izuku looked at him in confusion though the hero waved him off.
“Young Midoriya, I believe that young Todoroki and Uraraka are still fighting. Perhaps head to the waiting room?” All Might said to Izuku, who gave a nod.
“Right,” he said. He paused before looking at his classmates. “Umm… did Sero…”
“He told us you were okay with flirting,” Shouji said, shrugging. “But I think right now you shouldn’t be too distracted.”
“Yeah, kero.” Tsu agreed. “We came this way ‘cause the ice was making me really tired, and Tokoyami wanted to come with me. Shouji followed…” she peaked at Shouji, who chuckled.
“Wanted to see if I could see Midoriya even if I wouldn’t flirt.” Shouji’s words caused Izuku to go bright red, covering his face. Shouji laughed a little as All Might sighed.
“He’s going to lose so much blood to the face after this….”
“At least we know he’ll be very popular in the future.” Hawks joked. “Unless he does go underground like he does in a few of the versions, it’ll be useful.”
“Izu-chan is cute enough; he wouldn’t need that,” Tsu said.
“Yeah!” Dark Shadow cheered. “Fumi had a crush way before this-”
“Dark Shadow!” Tokoyami shouted. Izuku responded by moving away from them, face in his hands.
He would end up with a permanent blush; he just knew it.

Fuyumi: I don’t know what to think…
Natsuo: Touya is alive, Shouto might have a great husband in the future, and Dad is finally being punished?
Fuyumi: Natsuo!
Natsuo: Fuyumi. You’re a teacher! Would you make your students forgive their parents for what Endeavour did to us?
Fuyumi: No. And I got told by my boss I have to go to therapy before I can come back to work.
Natsuo: Oh… well, no offence but good. You need it.
Fuyumi: I just want to be a family.
Natsuo: We can, you just need to understand for us that Endeavour is and will never be our father. Not anymore.
Fuyumi: He’s mine…
Natsuo: and I’m happy he is. But again: you have to accept things are never going to be picture-perfect.
Fuyumi: I’ll try.

Momo observed the field, Jirou and Koda beside her, muttering to one another. By Momo’s count, everyone but the three of them, along with Kaminari and Kirishima, had interacted with Izuku after the calvarybattlel. Kirishima had gone off to check on Bakugou, though he came back unable to find the boy.
“Oh, I hope things turn out well for Midoriya,” Momo worried. The battle with Uraraka included the girl throwing the glacier Todoroki tried to trap her in right back at the dual-haired boy. It caused quite a mess, though in the end, Todoroki came out the winner. Momo worried for her classmates in the infirmary and the next fight.
“Iz… Midoriya will be fine,” Jirou voiced, correcting herself quickly. “Todoroki saw the same future as us; ten to one, he’ll knock him out.”
“Or he could win, kero,” Asui remarked as she looked over the field. The rest of the class glanced at her in surprise. “He could. I don’t know if he fully can- Todoroki is strong, kero. But Izu-chan is gonna be number one, right?”
“Yes, but he can’t use his Quirk well right now,” argued Momo.
“When we were heading to the infirmary, I overheard him figure out what he was doing wrong,” Shouji said. “It’s… really short notice, though. So who knows.”
“I hope he doesn’t hurt himself too bad,” Kouda signed. Kaminari laughed a little.
“Well, maybe that might help whatever issue Todoroki has to get through his head?” he shrugged at the dangerous looks shot at him. “Look; apparently, something went down here for them. We need to see what happens.”
“I bet it’s going to be MANLY as hell!” Kirishima chirped, even though his eyes were strained. Probably due to Bakugou Momo thought. Frankly, after what they learned and saw in the one future where Izuku lost his leg, she had no more interest in the blonde. Perhaps he could become a hero still. Time would tell, but Momo certainly wouldn’t be working with him. Petty? Perhaps. But she felt it more practical than not. Bakugou would have a sharp hill to climb now, with a few futures showing his behaviour and how it could impact the people around him. This would always hang over him even if he became a better person. In a way, it was a horrible punishment for him to be forever affected by this. He did become a hero in many futures. In one, he even made up with Izuku. But…
“Our final match!” cheered Present Mic, distracting Momo from her thoughts. She needed to focus on the field. Izuku would be fighting Todoroki, after all! “Our future number one Midoriya Izuku versus the hot and cold teenager Todoroki Shouto!” the two boys walked out onto the field, Izuku’s hand bandaged.
“Oh, I hope he’s all right.” worried Uraraka. “Midoriya is strong! But…”
“He’s not in control of his Quirk yet,” Momo murmured.
On the field, Izuku took a breath, facing Todoroki, who looked at him with a mostly blank face. A slight hint of worry was in the teen’s eyes, but mostly determination shone through.
“I won’t use his fire,” Todoroki declared, uncaring of the mics.
“It’s not his; it’s your fire,” snapped back Izuku. Todoroki blinked in confusion before Izuku charged him as soon as the start was announced. A stomp of his foot created a wave of ice heading towards Izuku, who lifted a hand to flick at it, shattering the ice. Todoroki glared, sending more out only for another flick to occur. Red lightning flickered around Izuku’s arm, slowly changing to green as the lightning moved over him.
“You’re going to hurt yourself,” Todoroki yelled, shooting more ice. Izuku flicked some fingers again, wincing. However, they didn’t break.
“Strained them now,” Izuku breathed out. “I’ll have to figure this out better, but right now? I think it’s enough.” He locked eyes with Todoroki. “I’m going to get you to use your Quirk to its full potential.”
“I WON’T USE HIS FIRE!” Todoroki yelled, more ice flying out, though the teen shivered thanks to the production of more and more ice.
“And it’s YOUR QUIRK, NOT HIS!” Izuku yelled, destroying the ice once more. Todoroki blinked, eyes wide right before he burst into flame.

He was standing on the podium. Midoriya Izuku, the Quirkless freak, was on the stage for the UA sports festival. He was in second place. Beat to hell and back, yes- Recovery Girl told him an excellent doctor reached out to offer to do the surgeries to fix the injuries that had occurred from being thrown out of the arena due to the explosion. He’d head there the next day. But Izuku was in second place.
Tears were heavy in his eyes as he stood there. Todoroki stood on the top pier, a small smile on his face. Shinsou and Uraraka were on the third one, beaming at the crowds.
“To deliver the medals, we have a special guest!” Present Mic was saying over the intercom. Midnight cracked her whip.
“Give it up for ALL MIGHT!” she cheered as the man bounded down from the stands. The stadium went a little nuts in cheering. However, they stopped when the man began to steam. Izuku’s mouth dropped open as All Might let his muscled form fall, the skinny version all that remained.
“Ha!” All Might laughed at seeing the expressions on their faces. “Apologies, but I felt that I could stop hiding this form with so much new information revealed.” He winked, the camera catching it easily. “With my Quirk passed on already, my injury from a few years back is slowly claiming my remaining time in my big form. Might as well save it for heroics!” He smiled and turned to Midnight, who blinked before offering the medals. He took the bronze ones wordlessly.
“Uraraka, you pushed hard today!” All Might said, ignoring the mutterings of the crowd effortlessly. “You truly showed skill and determination!” He slid the bronze medal over her head and stepped back with a smile. Uraraka smiled up at him, eyes shocked but pleased. “Young Shinsou, you showed the world that your Quirk does not define you,” All Might announced, turning to the purple-haired teenager. Shinsou gave a smile, cheeks flushed as he received the medal. “Keep it up!” All Might praised before he grabbed the silver medal from Midnight. Izuku felt his face warm, beaming up at All Might.
“Young Midoriya…” the hero paused and then laughed. “Ages ago, when I met you and realized that you were the perfect successor, I never expected what happened.” All Might slipped the medal around Izuku’s neck before hugging him. “You did it, my boy; you screamed you’re here, even with the weight of the future on your shoulders.” Izuku’s eyes teared up, and he barely heard All Might move to give Todoroki his medal.
He was too busy crying, a smile on his face and warm cheeks.
He’d done it.

-I can’t remember where I saw it, and frankly if it turns out canon I’m laughing but I was grabbed by the idea that AFO purposely fucks with OFA users as part of a huge game because he’s bored. I ran with it. (I’m also ignoring all ‘AFO wants shiggy’s body’ stuff. That’s boring)
-The convo between Hero Ficstastic and Drama Lama is inspired by some real life events. I put my long term project POTSOD on hiatus due to being exhausted by people commenting on other fics ‘when will you update POTSOD’. I THEN got a comment on another fic: I know you turned off anon and I totally get it for the other fic but I’m going to GUSH about the other fic on this one! Yes, they were in the same series. But like… it hurts seeing that. It really does. So… yeah. To all the anons/commenters who do that: don’t. Is this petty? Yes. But I’m just so tired…
-Nejire is a top student, she’s not dumb. She is exciteable and cheerful, however I firmly believe she is more shrewd then we think.
-Hawks is here! And writing him is fucking hard ain’t gonna lie. He’s both laid back but a workaholic. He’s smart, and I wanted to show he has in fact realized how fucked the Commission is, and I wanted him to be a catalyst for Izuku. (Mostly cause I think when we get to his part in the future for Izuku it’ll be funny as fuck)
-Also, how Hawks knew it was him in the TodoDeku version was due to Miu’s name. It’s a name he plans on using for any children he would have. Paired with his own name? Yeah he knows.
-I would like to offer that everyone in MHA are dumbasses for not connecting that Izuku needs to circulate the Quirk through his whole body. This also is why RG doesn’t go: I won’t heal him anymore. Because she recognizes her own eff up here and goes: yeah we all failed.
-I think the MLA plot was dumb as hell in the manga, but it is useful for a plot device. I also would like to point out that the Destro book was being sold and known to be being sold. So in my eyes, MLA is not considered a threat anymore, and thus people aren’t as on edge. Now though we have a whistle blower deciding to raise hell on twitter.
-Look Izuku managed to mostly get Full Cowl down in two days while working with Gran Torino. Kid is fucking smart.
-I don’t know when the next part will be out. I plan on focusing on original work for NaNoWriMo but I also created a miniature challenge I might try to do while working on my original stuff (plus you know school and work). It’s a Izuku has a bunch of soulmates AU. However I do plan on also posting throughout the month the rewrite of the beginning of an old series. I posted the first chapter yesterday; for those interested it is a Fem!Izuku series where she needs to choose a spouse due to various bullshit and we go through the path of various options. It’s called The Beginning for those interested. I have it fully rewritten hence why it is being posted.

RRf-06 Zanny
The original RRf-06 Zanny
The Thunderbolt (manga) version.
RRf-06 Zanny
Series of Origin: Gundam Tactics Mobility Fleet 0079 (Videogame)
Timeline: Universal Century (U.C)
Unit Type: Prototype Mobile Suit
Pilot(s): South Burning, Alpha A. Bate, Bernard Monsha, Chap Adel (Original), Mass-Produced (Thunderbolt)
Developer: Earth Federation
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TECHNOLOGY AND DEVELOPMENT
Developed using captured Zaku IIs, the Zanny was one of the first mobile suits developed by the EFF prior to Operation V. Its development was harshly underfunded and suffered from technical issues, resulting in a bucket of bolts with a shoddy design and high failure rates during testing. In the end, it was mainly used to train early feddie mobile suit pilots, and develop newer MS from it.
In the Thunderbolt version, the Zanny was still developed by the EFF using captured Zaku units, but its design differed, looking more like a fusion of a GM and a Zaku.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EQUIPMENT
It was lightly armed, with a head-mounted 60mm vulcan gun and a 120mm cannon that was a modified version of the Ball's.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HISTORY
(I could not find anything for it's history in the original, but I did find some for the Thunderbolt version, which is what this'll cover)
The Zanny was used by the EFF in the Thunderbolt manga, though they also provided it to the allied South Seas Alliance, who used it to recover dead/wounded soldiers and their MS from the battlefields. A large number of them were used to defend the South Seas Alliance's territory, a few of which were equipped with flotation equipment to traverse water.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LEGACY
It was presumably a stepping stone in the Federation's mobile suit development history, though nothing points at it leading to anything in particular or being developed into anything else. As far as I can find, it doesn't have any variants or successors.
It appeared in the SD Gundam G Generation games and Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation Code Fairy.
Weirdly enough though, in the ONA version of Thunderbolt, the Zanny is instead known as the SRf-06 Dahle, having a similar design with a purple color scheme and a slightly different development history. In the ONA, its a South Seas Alliance suit, instead of a feddie suit being provided to them. It was the SSA's mainstay MS, developed from salvaged parts during the OYW due to a lack of funds (Explaining how it still has GM and Zaku design principles), and its weapons also included those of the GM and Zaku, those being a machine gun, a Zaku Bazooka, a heat hawk, a beam saber, and a shield.
The SRf-06 Dahle
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Personal Opinion: I found out about it through SD G Generation Genesis, and like, its kind of adorable? I dunno why but I just think it looks cute for some reason lol. If it did have a model kit, I'd buy it instantly.

Through some kind of magic, the pillarmen have turned into anthropomorphic animals, how would they react?
Fantasy AU. Engage. im going all in.
Kars
- A concoction gone terribly right. Well, to him at least.
- It was a successful feat, Kars had managed to manifest bird-like properties from extracts of several different species.
- But, there was a problem. The potion had only some effect on his body, physically. He was aiming for the sight of a hawk, and the keen swimming power of a duck, and a resistance to cold weather like penguins. Hell he even got peacock dna. But he was very disappointed from the results of the potion only confusing certain parts of his body.
- He thinks the flamingo blood caused the change in the potion. Their high amount of spirulina in their bacteria must have made his body resist most of the transformation, allowing the cells to morph with half his body.
- The process of the evolution was interrupted making only his arms and legs morphed. His limbs became similar to the birds he used for his concoction.
- His arms first began to prick with sharp needle stabbing pain as darkly colored feathers began to grow from his shoulders to his finger tips morphing his bones and joints into wings that reflected a purple like hue. His legs shedded their skin, making a mess of gore on the ground as his body made huge flamingo-like legs, the shade of red the same as blood. The same soft feathers on his arms running from his knees to his waist, and the most embarrassing yet elegant part of him, his tail. A white peacock tail that flowed elegantly behind him.
- Kars took the results of the potions effect into his books and made some adjustments, but he cursed himself for jumping straight into testing without precaution, and with no antidote to reverse the effects. So he decides to wait and see if it wears out.
- Surprised but not impressed by the results, his wings leave no room for grabbing, and his legs can’t do much besides grab small animals, pens and paper fall from them. His tail, though, leaves for a good look on his person.
- But he can’t help but think of all the chicken jokes Esidisi will make out of him. And the mess he is going to make of the shedding feathers.
Esidisi
- Today, Kars wanted to test something rare, legendary even. He had gotten his hands on some scales and blood of a dragon. The ooze he made was far from a potion as he tested it on plants. The intensity of the mix would turn the organisms to ash in seconds, making the ‘potion’ a one way sip to death.
- But the concept of ‘don’t drink this’ and death don’t apply to Esidisi. He doesn’t even know how to spell it(ha. joke). Kars needed to go out to find an ingredient to make the ooze safer and more compatible to drink, leaving Esidisi in charge of watching over it to make sure it didn’t explode.
- While he was out, Esidisi thought what the harm is about trying just a small sip of it. He only heard about how dangerously hot it was, plus, he likes spicy things. But if the red to white burning at the bottom of the cauldron and the bubbling color of the ooze the same as lava wasn’t a good enough warning, he had to have a taste.
- The spoon itself burned at the touch of it as he dipped it in and his lips were scorched as he took a sip. He dropped the spoon as his mouth burned from the drop hitting his tongue. Shortly after he started to burn with an intensifying heat. Next his body started to reek of heat. As if a fever x10 was burning him from the inside out.
- His skin began to harden and crack in the form of scales from his chest to his arms and legs. His back gave way to wings beginning to form skin and hard bone, flexing and breaking off ash and asphalt. A scaly tail began to protrude from his rear, shaking off sparks of fire. His mouth began to pool with thick black smoke as he clawed at his chest heaving for fresh air from the heat.
- When the transformation is over, Kars comes back with what he needs but drops it on sight of Esidisi and his new form. Esidisi was thrilled about his new dragon-like form, his wings, claws, and chest glowing with new temperatures, but Kars, he was not as thrilled. Pretty soon Kars is lecturing Esidisi about how his newest creation could’ve killed him or worse, but seeing how successful it mutated his form, Kars tosses aside his ingredient to add caution to the mix and will continue to under-go the ooze the way it is.
Wamuu
- Another magical mishap, but this time, Wamuu has taken on the study of spells.
- He was practicing the art of transformation from one of Kars's books he, well, was ‘borrowing’. Totally didn’t take it from his studies without asking because he is such a good boy.
- Always on the drive to be just like his successors, he wants to be just as great and powerful and will take any risks to make it to where they are.
- Though he bit off more than he can chew when he underestimated the spells difficulty level and the classic Kars Warning NOT to use magic he forbids them until they are older. But Wamuu being Wamuu, has a thirst for power.
- At first, nothing happened. He didn’t feel any different aside from the stomach cramps and attack of growing pains in his legs, all in all he didn’t see any transformations. Figuring he just put himself up to the painful failure(literally) of the transformation he decided to take some medicine to get rid of his pain and sleep on it.
- He slept like a rock, and when he woke up, his bed was crushed and he was flat on the floor. Well, on his side, I don’t think a half human half horse can fall flat on their stomachs… maybe their backs? Who knows, more importantly, Wamuu has yet to fully process the situation.
- You know how horses freak out when they fall? Wamuu did just that, scrambling about in excitement and confusion at how his spell worked, except it didn’t make it up his whole body seeming to stop at the bottom of his torso. His horse half was a rich shade of copper colored fur with a short blonde tail, his legs have just as much muscle as he had before and his torso seemed to be thin yet just as muscular. Though, the spell was incomplete, never making it from his feet to his head to his realization, and to that info he cursed himself for not searching for a second one to complete the first(it’s one of those step 1 to step 2 except you skip 2 and go to 3 situations).
- But still, it’s fascinating to him and he can’t wait to do more. After this lecture from Kars, of course.
Santana
- Once again Santana is sneaking through everyone's things to complete this potion or question he needs.
- Same time as Wamuu, they both are rummaging through Kars’s quarters. Finding anything that they need, Santana going first then Wamuu following close behind being convinced that Santana will take the blame for sneaking in(he lied. he’s totally not going to hear it from Kars again).
- As Wamuu found the book he needed, Santana was still rummaging through Kars’s many mini self-made(Kars patented, Esidisi approves lol) potion ingredients he uses for curses. Just when he finds the one he needs, reaching in the far back, Wamuu whispers loudly behind him he’s ready to go but starts Santana by the sudden boom of his voice, causing his body to jump and his arm knock some of Kars’s potions off his shelf.
- They fall onto the floor at Santana's feet creating a cloud of purple and red gas that’s as heavy as smoke from a campfire. The gas reaches up to his head as he grabs the mini potion and backs out of the fog. Wamuu then grabbed him by the wrist and rushed out before their masters could investigate the noise.
- He began asking if Santana was fine, of course, he said don’t worry about it and walked off like nothing happened, so Wamuu let him be while he returned to studying his own magic. As Santana enters his room he suddenly starts to feel itchy on his head, scratching near his horns he sets the potion he took on his desk and begins to scratch with both hands. Suddenly the worst headache appeared, like his head got slammed into a wall.
- Head becoming itchy he begins to scratch until strands of hair are starting to fall out and the pain of his head starts to move to his horns. He’s felt his horns grow before but he never thought they could ever be this irritating. Looking into a nearby mirror he watches as his horns expand longer, more rounded and rugged, just goat horns. After his horns were finished, his legs started to itch. Resisting the urge to satisfy the itch he rips off his pants only to see black fur begin to grow on from his waist down to his… hooves? Since when did he get hooves? Then, when he thought it was all over, he felt his tailbone shift uncomfortably. Turning around in the mirror he watches his rear as a small fluffy tail sprouts from his butt.
- Remembering the gas he accidentally made while taking Kars’s potion makes him think, oh great, not this again. He isn’t very thrilled with his new form, never wanting to test this sort of magic. But, he can’t help but admire how good his horns look.
“I heard most potions taste like sea water.” - Von

Bentley 8 Neighbors: The Odysseys
Here are the friendliest neighbors of Bentley 8 Squad. They're based on my novel characters and have 8 members. They are a foster family without blood relations except for a couple of siblings and getting along well with Bentley 8 Squad. FYI, I wrote this novel around the year 2012-2017, so the Bentley 8 fanfic novel is the successor. And their family name, "The Odysseys" is not because it's a car brand just like the Bentleys, but because they are based on greek mythology characters.

reactions to the bnha: heroes rising film
spoilers alert !
(i risked coronavirus to go to the cinema for this but no regrets because we all want to die anyway oof-)
the film was very 1a centred & that’s gr8 and all especially since we got to witness the bond they had between them & just. how incredibly amazing their teamwork is
but i really ,,, miss,,, aizawa (my fave, my tru love)
he had a total of 3 (?) scenes, each of them lasting like less than 10 secs - even toshinori had more scenes than that : (
but you know who even had less screen time (aka none),,, our boy,,, the valid purple son,,,, shinsou hitoshi : (
the person who had the most screen time was this new villain called nine and i really wanna yell begone thot at him because he was like “i want to create a utopia where the powerful rules” and i was like thinking,, yo that shit sounds like capitalism & neoliberalism
his character design was really pretty, but it didn’t make up for his ideology that came outta nowhere with no backstory - so it was really hard to empathise/sympathise
what makes a villain good is 1) sufficient backstory 2) being so damn predictable and familiar that you actually prefer them over every other new villain because better the devil you know than the devil you don’t know
anyway, what really slaps is kacchan’s fuckin character development !!
lil gremlin is still gremlin but ,, he’s working with other kids,, he’s minimising damage done to the area while fighting villains,, there was a scene of him all calm and shit while eavesdropping on izuku and katsuma (which once again proves that most of his anger is just a front he puts up in front of other people rather than a perpetual state, and ya know what, i love that introvertedness that he has),,, him being protective over the bakusquad and not blasting kaminari for teasing him,,, he and izuku fighting together like a hero duo ,,,, eye-
this movie really said bakugo character development hUH
anyway in the beginning when endeavour showed up and dabi and endeavour had this whole showdown with their fire quirks and we got this close up of endeavour’s thicc thighs and i was like : ) we don’t stan for this here but at the same time i was like @ hawks damn ur daddy really be like that, huH
which reminds me of my whole spiel about dabi/hawks and endeavour/hawks : ‘ )
but yea. dabi was unfairly attractive and i just want death to consume me
okay so the plot was like,, the hero commission (aka the dodgy ass institution): how about sending the 1a kids to an island where there are no active heroes ??
so the 1a kids get yeeted off to an island,, and they are having fun helping the locals out !! (this is the wholesome content we all deserve)
jirou and yaomomo asdgjhskgjahkj
kacchan who stays at home the entire day because he’s on ~villain duty~ and there weren’t any villains so he just sits at home and read manga asdfghjkl that’s a hard Mood
kirishima looking like the cutie he is eye-
the bakusquad teasing kacchan by calling him “kacchan of bakugo”
how is maharo & katsuma so damn cute *angery fists*
but izuku really be adopting children left and right hUh
dadmight and dadzawa whomst i only know dadku
ochako & tsuyu are so cute wtf eye-
these villains are overpowered af wtf
wow i love 1a having each other’s backs their teamwork,, was ,,, so good,,, so smooth ,,, (*whispers* poly 1-a anyone ??)
everyone be losing until kacchan comes blasTing in, saving kirishima & kaminari with sheer determination and stubbornness and manages to defeat one (1) villain
not going to lie though i feel like mummy got done dirty like that
but i like the little nod to the provisional exam arc
the inflated izuku mahoro projected was the Cutest
anyway what really clapped was you know,, both izuku and kacchan being the smort cookies they are: “DIDN’T I TELL YOU THAT ONCE I’VE SEEN YOU USE IT, I HAVE A WAY OF COUNTERING IT?!"
like oof
also i love how izuku is established as the image of hope (the saviour) and kacchan is established as the image of victory (the victor) - this whole “win to save” and “save to win” really got laid down really heavily
but we’re all hoes for that i guess
touga in her winter gear !!! eye-
yaomomo delivering the Goods (i.e. the cannons)
a o y a m a : (
the moment i realised that tokoyami was in the cave, i knew the villain there was Done For
i haven’t forgotten our resident eldritch abomination, dark shadow, y’all
i just ?? love ?? mina ???? so much ??????
ngl i didn’t know chimera was literally a chimera until this part i just thought he one big furry
oof
that flashback to endeavour’s advice when shouto was fighting chimera ?? the symBoLisM wow
shouto being able to rationally separate endeavour the hero and endeavour the shitty dad & using the advice endeavour gave him to empower himself -
- wipes tears
sero and ochako getting blasted away really badly by nine,,, and izuocha happens but we’ve all seen that before
it is kacchan,, ,, being protective of sero when he got yeeted,,,,, that is the Point
THE BEST PART ABT THE SECOND LAST FIGHT WAS LITERALLY BKDK BEING SO IN SYNC WITH EACH OTHER’S MOVES THAT THEY WERE FIGHTING LIKE A HERO DUO ??
LIKE IZUKU KICKING THE VILLAIN, REBOUNDING OFF THE SHIELD,, AND THEN FLYING OFF JUST FOR KACCHAN TO GRAB IZUKU’S HAND AND FLING HIM BACK AT THE VILLAIN FOR A SECOND ATTACK
THE WHOLE HANDHOLDING THING IS STARTING TO COME OUT AS A MOTIF
AND I JUST WOW ,,, BKDK,, (platonic or romantic or otherwise) OUT HERE,, HOLDING HANDS AS EQUALS,,, SYMBOLIC OF THEIR CHANGING RELATIONSHIP,,,,
s h o u j i : ( protecting mahoro and katsuma with his body : ( big cuddle boy doesn’t deserve this pain !!!
don’t think i didn’t notice the film using the same bgm as the kamino rescue
it draws such a powerful parallel ?? back then it was kacchan who needed to be ‘saved' but now it’s kacchan doing the saving & the winning - once again, such character development asdfghjkl
this film,, making me appreciate kaminari 10x more
also fellas is it gay to stare at your rival and being able to communicate non-verbally
bkdk detroit smashing the storm together & making a damn fucking hole in the stratosphere like all might,, dispelling the damn storm and letting sunlight filter in ?? that was some really obvious symbolism but regardless,,,, wow
this is the part where the whole twin stars motif really came right in kicking our houses down
kacchan breaking both of his arms because of one for all & all i can think of is ,, izuku,, stop sharing your bone breaking juice with people
i’m just thinking about how people @ izuku: wtf how do you deal with this bone breaking bs all the time
and izuku, pure bean: oh yea haha i thought it was normal ?? like everyone has to get used to their quirks like this ??
a concept: quirkless izuku not understanding how quirks are supposed to feel
anyway, dadmight cradling izuku in his arms only to leave kacchan a metre away ?? favouritism that we’re all here for
izuku : ( apologising : ( for : ( being : ( a : ( bad : ( successor : (
i just want to shake izuku’s shoulders & tell him that he did super well and that he shouldn’t be ashamed of himself and that he deserves everything good in this world
also imagine being so gremlin that all the one for all predecessors were like "nope we’re not dealing with this gremlin child, we prefer the pure broccoli”
disappointed that hawks didn’t get enough screentime
but we got some hawks & tokoyami and ryuukyuu & ochako time
kacchan ~conveniently~ forgetting what happened ?? i smell something fishy
our local crusty boy shows up & ahh yes, there it is - the close up shot that like to remind us that he needs to Moisturise
everytime i see red shoes on shigs i just think about the parallels between shigs and izuku and my heart breaks all over again
the scene where shouto got hugged super uncomfortably by endeavour ?? oof. the entire cinema just simultaneously laughed and heard the shouuuuutooooo
katsuma being like like “i’m going to become a hero like deku & bakugo !” and kacchan’s acting all cool and shit, telling him “you better” while izuku is like “katsuma, you can become a hero !! we’ll wait for you at ua !!” because he saw himself in katsuma and wanted to be the person he wanted someone to be for him when he was young
breaking my own heart like this
imagine the first years in ten years though
they’re just going to be a bunch of teenagers izuku or 1-a saved or adopted
and they’re going to give aizawa so many more grey hairs than the current 1-a
#bnha#boku no hero academia#boku no hero academia: heroes rising#heroes rising spoilers#heroes rising#this got a little long#excuse my language i'm just very excited#it do be like that sometimes#mine#everytime i see 1-a i just think about found family#and we're all hoes for found family

bnha + tdmm gundam AU
This is an AU I wrote on the todomomo discord server eons ago. Anything posted to this blog will be transcripts of old original work and not really edited, save for formatting. I have no guarantees if I will ever finish these AUs either so these will only be kept as an archive.
Heavily inspired by Gundam SEED/Destiny
Original transcript posted to tdmm discord: Aug 2018
BNHA MECHA/MILITARY/GUNDAM AU??? FT. TDMM + OTHERS.
JUST HEAR ME OUT OK:
idk when this is set but some sci-fi au where earth is at war w some enemy people and the military uses mechs
U.A. aka United Alliance is the military organization in charge of Earth's mechs
decades ago for idk.. WW III or something, pilots enlisted in U.A. piloting giant mechs (aka H.E.R.O.S. - “high efficiency robotic operating systems”) became protectors of citizens?? some shit like that.
the top pilots made a name for themselves were namely Toshinori Yagi piloting the TPHR-ALL MIGHT at #1 and #2 Todoroki Enji piloting the FLHR-ENDEAVOR
(Bonus: TPHR for "The People's HERO" and FLHR for, you guessed it, "Flame HERO" woooo)
but during the final mecha fight that subsequently ended WW III, Toshinori Yagi was declared MIA bc his mech crash landed on some coastal shore and by the time they found ALL MIGHT, the cockpit was empty and the pilot was gone
anyway fast forward >> U.A. has a cadet school and low and behold who do we find enrolled,,, aspiring young pilots Midoriya Izuku and Bakugou Katsuki
they both heard the heroic stories of pilot Toshinori and ALL MIGHT and woooo got into U.A.
also in U.A. ofc is Todoroki Shouto whos been groomed to be a mecha pilot since age 5 courtesy of Enji. D u h. (Enji's still piloting ENDEAVOR at this time but has it pretty set that Shouto will inherit piloting his mech)
aaand ofc we get the rest of class 1A in U.A. cadet school for various reasons
ANYWAY im not going into cadet school days bc thats boring but lets say ofc top of the class pilots are Izuku Bakugou and Todoroki that aces all the flight simulations blah blah blah
Also Toshinori was found to be declared MIA to the public but actually whoop. He's at U.A. as one of the boardmembers bc ofc that’s how im making the story work. Idk he was too injured and has too much ptsd that he cant pilot anymore and is looking for the next pilot to inherit ALL MIGHT (which is fixed up by now)
NOW INTO THE ACTUAL MEAT OF THE STORY - NEW WAR (WW4? I GUESS)
CADET KIDS ARE NO LONGER CADETS. THEYRE FULL FLEDGED PILOTS NOW AND ARE THROWN INTO THE NEXT WAR BC THAT WAS PART OF WHAT THEY SIGNED UP FOR. Whos the enemy? LoV ofc but i dont have a cool name for them yet LMAOOOO
K SO new war. New battle cruisers. New mechs yayayya
U.A. has 2 new battle cruisers: Sirius A and Sirius B, designated (1-A and 1-B DUH)and duh, the crew of 1-A and 1-B is gonna be classes respectively
1-A, Aizawa is captain of the ship LMAOOOO Momo's the crew's battle analyst on comms + nav, Iida takes the helm, idk whos gonna be on weaponry yet but I kinda wanna make it Tokoyami
Izuku Bakugou and Todoroki are mecha pilots ofc
they have custom made mechs that were made for them for mostly training so the models are pretty basic compared to ALL MIGHT and ENDEAVOR but eh they do the job.
I'm doing the hero name thing again so Izuku pilots OAHR-DEKU, Todo pilots HCHR-SHOUTO and Bakugou pilots.... EXHR-K.E.KILL
bc they’re custom they got to name the mechs so friggin Bakugou. I tried LMAO (if someone can guess the acronyms, bonus points)
also hey! they have a squadron of fighter jet pilots and hey! Its the Bakusquad!!!
each of the fighters have their own names too so you guessed it, their hero namessss ha..ha..ha..ha..
OKAY more people: Hatsume Mei's their engineer. She basically built the mechs and works under Powerloader that built the cruiser ships
Gran Torino built the fighter jets lol
uhh Tsuyu's probably the crew's nurse in the infirmary or smth. Chiyo is the head military doctor back at the U.A. base??? idk
Nedzu head of U.A. Self explanatory.
Fuyumi and Natsuo are there too!!! Fuyumi's part of the cadet teaching staff. Natsuo's a fighter pilot of another fleet
Anyway, TODOMOMO IN THIS AU
they met in cadet training. Momo was working towards being an analyst anyway so naturally they paired up for training exercises as comm + pilot top of the class. Aizawa's first choices when choosing who to enlist in for the 1-A crew
every time Shouto deploys for a fight Momo's hypervigilant in keeping tabs on him in the air bc honestly the worst is seeing a laserbeam aiming for his mech's cockpit
I mean she keeps tabs on Deku and Bakugou too but. y’know she has a bias loool
and god forbid if anything were to happen to Shouto bc the worse would be for him to be MIA or KIA bc this is a war. People lose their lives. She knows its what they signed up for but if she can help him avoid it, she will
but sometimes it cant be helped. Especially since she’s navigating for the other pilots and the ship
it doesn’t help that Shouto's kinda reckless in his mech fights when they get too intense. sometimes he'll ignore his comms all together and when he does that half the time he comes out of his cockpit injured bc nuclear explosions. Recoil. Life threatening occupational hazard. D u h
Momo's basically crying by his bedside in the infirmary every time that happens
and THE ONE INSTANCE WHERE HE IS OFFICIALLY DECLARED MIA, Momo loses it
bc its his fight against the enemy mech CRHR-DABI. Its in the midst of the enemy's unexpected assault. and the 1A and 1B are taking heavy fire. So she has to focus on Aizawa's orders. and Shouto is getting out range that she cant keep tabs on him. and he's ignoring her comms. so by the end of it, by the time the enemy ships and mechs retreat, HCHR-SHOUTO is g o n e
the dust clears up. Its raining. The fighting's stopped. All of the enemy forces has retreated so U.A. calls their pilots to retreat
2 of their 3 mechs have returned to the ship except for SHOUTO. And Momo's frantically trying to get through to him. But nothing.
Aizawa orders her to stop trying. they'll send out a search team to investigate his last known location after everyone rests. Repairs to 1A and the mechs need to be made. They have to make haste, but for now, rest.
all the logistical post-battle crap is cared for first. Status reports, repair agenda, the next battle plan. The search team is sent out.
nothing.
they keep looking.
nothing for days.
keep looking.
they find it. HCHR-SHOUTO in a lake torn to shambles. The cockpit cut open. Blood stains trail out toward the forest it crashed in but no pilot nearby. (Bc hell ya im gonna recycle tropes loool)
Todoroki Shouto declared missing in action.
Momo gets the update and she’s devastated
but theres no time to mourn. A second enemy attack.
the Orion fleet is called in. ENDEAVOR's fleet.
and there he is. that mech. CRHR-DABI. again.
DABI VS ENDEAVOR wooooooooooooo
but this time its nearby the city. Civilians need to be evacuated. WGHR-HAWKS assists in protecting the city as much as possible.
but yup ENDEAVOR gets destroyed too. Enji comes out of his cockpit in critical condition. and the enemy retreats again.
more aftermath. More repairing, more strategies, more recovering the injured. Its a war after all.
U.A. works on building a new mech. ENDEAVOR #2. But Enji has to officially retire from piloting due to his head injury.
and his successor is missing.
there is no pilot.
that is until Shouto shows up again!!!!
he has new scar on the left side of his face.
he saw ENDEAVOR's fight.
he’s alive. He’s come back. And he's out to take down DABI.and you bet he made his dramatic reappearance like:
Aizawa, at a battle meeting with Momo, Nedzu, Toshinori and other UA officials: "Tell me Nedzu. what choices do we have? Enji is compromised. His successor is missing. We're out of pilots. Who’s going to pilot the second ENDEAVOR?"
Todo, walking casually through the door: "I will."
After thoughts:
hi yes pls imagine all the pilots in skin tight pilot suits and helmets bc HAHAHHAA NGL THAT WAS THE 5% MOTIVATION OF ME COMING UP WITH THIS AU 👀
also momo in a military uniform 👀
the mechs look like their hero uniforms. OAHR-DEKU is green & white in colour. EXHR-K.E.KILL is black & orange. HCHR-SHOUTO is red blue silver.
TPHR-ALL MIGHT is gold & royal blue. FLHR-ENDEAVOR is blue red and orange.
CRHR-DABI is grey and purple and is piloted by Touya who else would it be
the fleet that i said Natsuo was a part of is the Orion fleet.. Enji's fleet
now that I think about it, Aoyama is probably the designer behind the pilot suits
Shouto names the 2nd ENDEAVOR mech HCHR-REI after his mom
his mom is a civilian and is very much alive kthx Im not pulling some EVA shit here ok
> bonus tdmm mecha NSFW
> archives masterpost
#todomomo#todoroki shouto#momo yaoyorozu#ruiyukis unfinished aus#IDK man just take it#this was from when i finished vld s7 and gave me mecha au vibes#things that wouldnt leave me alone

Three characters similar to mine : I’chi Tia
Tagged by: @thegildedgun ! Thank you Fishy<3
Qrow Branwen | RWBY
I’chi’s OG inspiration! Qrow and I’chi share many qualities, being generally likable and charming characters with an edge. They do good, value the well being of others that they care about, and typically put their own well being second to those they love. They even share the same vice, being alcoholics as a way of coping with hopelessness and self loathing. There’s sadness and pain to them, bad habits, that keeps them from being seen as role models, despite how otherwise warm hearted and genuinely good they might be! The casts them in the light of the anti-hero of their story. When I was originally creating I’chi, Qrow came to mind a lot - his mannerisms, voice (which *cough* if you follow anything RWBY related, you’ll know what that’s unfortunate now), and charm all appealed to the type of character I was trying to make with I’chi, and I channeled him a lot in the earlier days of I’chi’s character.
Garrett Hawke (Sarcastic) | Dragon Age 2
Yes, another sarcastic, dark haired bad boy. Whose color scheme in that gif seems to be creating... a pattern. Unintentional! I have to specify that this applies to a Hawke played using the sarcastic/purple dialogue options, as that’s definitely the version of the character that most aligns with I’chi’s personality! Once again, Garrett Hawke and I’chi are both men who place a strong value on those that they love, risking life and limb to keep them safe. They’re maintain a cool optimism during even the most difficult of times, as well as a quick, dry wit that often gets them into trouble. They are the leaders in their group, more often than not because they’re the only one who can be counted on to make tough decisions when necessary. Furthermore, they’ve both been inexplicably thrust into a destiny bigger than them, with their actions serving to effect more than just their own life, but the lives of many to come.
Adali Silversun | World of Warcraft
So this is probably cheating, as Adali is one of my own characters, but I put her on this list because I’m running out of ideas I’chi is, more or less, the spiritual successor of Adali’s concept. Adali was a very beloved character of mine who dealt heavily with feelings of self loathing, not dissimilar to I’chi. Because of her mixed heritage, her perfectionism, and her insecurities, she put herself in a box - convinced so thoroughly of the world’s hatred of her that she denied any and everyone even the chance to prove that she could be loved, adapting her unique ability to cloak herself in dense shadows and disappear to become as much of a ghost as one could be while still alive. Though I’chi might not be able to disappear quite like Adali, he hides himself in different ways; drowning his sorrows in booze, jumping into bed with people quicker than they can even learn his name, and using humor to deflect and distract from painful realities - all because he loathes his truth and what he has done, seeing himself as unforgivable and unworthy of love. Both of these characters deal with the hardship of anxiety and depression, clouding their minds from the truth of the world - that not everyone is out to screw you over, and maybe they just want to get to know you.

Jaehaerys Targaryen ascended the Iron Throne in 48 AC at the age of fourteen & would rule the seven kingdoms for the next fifty-five years, until his death of natural causes in 103 AC. In the later years of his reign, & during the reign of his successor, he was called the Old King, for obvious reasons, but Jaehaerys was a young & vigorous man for far longer than he was an aged & feeble one, & more thoughtful scholars speak of him reverently as "the Conciliator." Archmaester Umbert, writing a century later famously declared that Aegon the Dragon & his sisters conquered the Seven Kingdoms, but it was Jaehaerys the Conciliator who truly made them one.
Alysanne Targaryen, the Youngest child of King Aenys & Queen Alyssa, had been little known amongst the lords & ladies of the realm before then. Her childhood had been spent in the shadow of her brothers & her elder sister, Rhaena, & was spoken of at all it was as "the little maid" & "the other daughter". She was little this was true; slim & slight of frame, Alysanne was oft described as pretty but seldom as beautiful, though she was born of a house renowned for beauty. Her eyes were blue rather than purple, her hair a mass of honey-colored curls. No man ever questioned her wits.
The Good Queen & The Conciliator
King Jaehaerys pulled his sister closer & put his arm around her. "But do not think that you shall unmake this marriage. We are one now, & neither gods nor men shall part us."
"Never", his bride affirmed. "Send me to the ends of the earth & wed me to the King of Mossovy or the Lord of the Grey Waste, Silverwing will always bring me back to Jaehaerys." & with that she raised herself onto her toes & lifted her face to the King, & he kissed her full upon the lips whilst all looked on.
Dragonstone would remain their refuge for the remainder of Jaehaerys's minority. The Young King & Queen were seldom apart during that time, sharing every meal, talking late into the night, fishing hawking together, mingling with island's smallfolk, reading to one another from the dusty leatherbound tomes they found in the castle library, taking lessons together from Dragonstone's maesters "for we still have much to learn," Alysanne is said to have reminded her husband.
Queen Alysanne, for her part was in no haste to return to court. "Here I have you to myself, day & night," she told Jaehaerys. "When we go back, I shall be fortunate to snatch an hour with you, for every man in Westeros will want a piece of you." For her, these days on Dragonstone were idyll. "Many years from now when we are old & grey, we shall look back upon these days & smile, remembering how happy we were."
After the death of Princess Gael, Kings Landing & the Red Keep became unbearable to Alysanne. She could no longer serve as she once had, as a partner to the King in his labors, & the court was full of strangers whose names Alysanne could not quite recall. Seeking Peace, she returned once more to Dragonstone, where she had spent the happiest days of her life with Jaehaerys. The Old King would join her there when he could. "How is it that I am the Old King now, but you are still the Good Queen?" he asked her once. Alysanne laughed. "I am old as well, but I am still younger than you."

A @marinettemarch story, Day 13: Akumanette
Marinette eyed the tray Master Fu brought back from the kitchen. Candles, bowls, herbs, powders. Wayzz and Tikki, both wearing similarly concerned expressions, carried a box of matches after the guardian.
‘I am ready, Ladybug,’ the host announced.
Marinette and her older self stood up.
‘I don’t know if you’re familiar with this technique,’ Master Fu turned to the heroine, ‘but apart from the standard aura reading I want to perform the ritual of lights.’
Ladybug frowned. ‘But isn’t that for kwami?’
‘Yes,’ Master Fu nodded, clearly pleased with her answer. ‘But only because it concerns miraculous energy. It’s usually redundant for humans...’
‘But I am transformed,’ she finished. ‘Hence I am not exactly human right now. Or not all of me anyway. That makes sense.’
‘The ritual is also helpful for examining the distribution of miraculous energy,’ the guardian continued. ‘It might help us determine if there’s any damage or weak points.’
‘What do I do?’ Ladybug looked around. ‘Do I stand or do you need me to lie down?’
‘I would like to put you into trance, if you don’t mind,’ Master Fu explained. ‘It’s not strictly necessary, but it would help to reduce the bias that comes from your consciousness.’
The heroine looked to Tikki, but the kwami avoided her gaze.
‘If this might help you, okay,’ Ladybug shrugged.
Marinette found it astonishing how calm the heroine was in this all. Maybe it had something to do with her training as Master Fu’s successor. But she must have had utmost trust in this man to allow this. And for the first time Marinette thought that maybe she just wanted answers. That maybe deep down Ladybug was as scared and lost as Marinette would feel, but she never allowed herself to be weak. That considering the circumstances, she had to keep her cool. And that’s when she noticed the heroine trembled when she lowered herself to the mat.
Ladybug lay on her back and closed her eyes. Her breathing slowed as Master Fu counted to ten. Her features relaxed and tension dropped from her body. After a moment the guardian checked her pulse.
‘We may begin,’ he said. ‘Normally I would start with aura readings, but I believe the ritual is more important right now.’
Tikki and Wayzz nodded and passed him the matches. Master Fu lit the small candles and carefully placed them around the limp form of Ladybug. Then he reached for an antique incesory. Soon the smell of herbs filled Marinette’s nostrils. She didn’t recognize it, but found the scent to have a calming effect.
The guardian took the last candle from the tray. It was cast in a glass holder that seemed to enhance the light. The man recited an incantation and the flame grew stronger.
‘The ritual of light shows both the kind and the strength of magic contained in a creature,’ he explained.
‘We’ll see if she really is Ladybug as she claims to be,’ Tikki supplied. She was watching the lying girl like a hawk.
‘You mean she might not be-?’ Marinette couldn’t believe it. Tikki really had suspected something and hadn’t shared her concerns with her chosen, but waited for Master Fu. Ladybug had been right once again.
‘Magic works in many ways,’ Master Fu replied diplomatically. ‘Things aren’t always as they seem. But if she isn’t who we think she is, we’ll know.’
With that he moved the candle holder over Ladybug’s head. The flame turned red.
‘W-what does it mean?’ Marinette asked.
Tikki and Wayzz sighed in relief.
‘It means that she is under the influence of Ladybug miraculous,’ the guardian explained.
‘This really is future Marinette transformed by Tikki into Ladybug,’ Wayzz translated.
‘So everything is fine?’
‘Not necessarily,’ Wayzz said. ‘Master Fu needs to check for any anomalies. That might give us some answers as to why she can’t release her transformation or why is her memory impaired.’
The guardian moved the candle closer to the earrings. The redness of the flame grew stronger. He looked to Marinette to see if she understood the principle. When she nodded he moved to Ladybug’s neck and arms. The flame cast red shadows on the walls. Marinette watched the route of the candle with fascination until Master Fu placed it over Ladybug’s chest.
The flame burst with purple light.
Tikki gasped and covered her mouth with her paw.
‘B-but that’s… she’s not wearing the brooch,’ Wayzz stuttered.
Master Fu took a deep breath. ‘No,’ he said.
‘Then…’
The guardian took a pinch of powder from the tray and blew it directly over the light. A shape of a butterfly flickered for a moment between flames and then evaporated.
‘She has been akumatized,’ Master Fu whispered.
‘But then where’s the akuma?’ Marinette leaned in searching for the akumatized object on Ladybug’s body.
‘Where the light is the strongest,’ came a reply.
The girl watched in horror as Master Fu moved the candle closer to the heroines chest and placed it directly over her heart. The purple light flooded the room blinding the four of them.
Afterglow still lingered under Marinette’s eyelids when the guardian blew off the candle. She felt his hand on her shoulder.
‘Call Chat Noir, Marinette,’ he said sadly. ‘We might need him.’

Goodbye Despair, Chapter 0: On the way to the School Trip (Part 2)
A deathly pale girl stood atop a fractured building as she looked out at the widespread, horrific destruction of Towa City. Her elegant black dress fluttered in the breeze. The red sky was now gone, and the gray sky of dawn was blossoming over the city, the sun brilliantly shining its golden rays.
“It truly is such a shame that it had to come to this… A full-out war between Towa City and the Future Foundation would have been much more dramatic…” The black-haired girl mused as she sipped from a teacup. Near her, a very portly teen stood tall and with his hands on his hips in slight exasperation.
“Yeah, well… Blame it on the kids for not being more careful! Even if it was just a few lapdogs from Future Foundation, they were still Ultimates!” The boy puffed out in annoyance.
The girl cradled her teacup on a plate. Her face was melancholic.
“… I blame your influence.” The girl quipped, resulting in the boy reeling back in shock.
“M-M-Meee?!”
“If you had not been so mischievous in making that ‘Successor’ remark, Towa would not have toyed around with that girl. Instead, she made a big theatrical failure of a game, and now Future Foundation has infested this place like rodents.” The goth smiled with false cheer.
“I don’t recall you objecting to it, Miss Ludenberg!” The boy huffed again. He clenched his fist in aggravation. “At any point, you could have made Miss Towa stop!”
Celestia Ludenberg rolled her eyes dully.
“It was an amusing distraction for a while, but then it got boring the more she tempted fate. Monaca was truly an annoying pest.” The goth then gave a little curtsy. “Besides which, you were in charge of the children, not I. I had the adults wrapped around my finger, and nudged them in the proper direction. The fault for this travesty lies at your feet, Yamada. You needed to be the adult, if we were to maintain our hold here. Now Kirigiri-san will be most displeased that we have lost another stronghold…”
The otaku made several angry grunting noises as he tried to think hard about a good comeback. The war between adults and kids had been going rather smoothly, while he and Ludenberg pulled the strings behind the scenes. But still, did she have to take such a chiding tone with him?! Enoshima had entrusted the Warriors of Hope into both their care!
“Attempting to fill Nanami with despair was bound to end in failure… You both should have seen that coming.” A voice droned behind them, causing Yamada to whirl around and Celes to slightly crane her head to look back at the lanky, long-haired figure.
“My, my, look who’s arrived fashionably late.” Celes drawled dryly. “The Monokuma children detected your entry into the city. What were you so busy doing?”
“We could have used your help in expelling the Foundation, Mister Kamakura…!” Yamada growled as he pointed accusingly at the pale, slightly older boy.
Kamakura regarded the otaku like he would an ant.
“You know my policy. This world is boring… But witnessing the conflict between hope and despair, that is truly a fascinating match to behold. A myriad of comical faux pas were made on both sides… But it appears the victor was decided for this round.”
The Ultimate Gambler tsk’ed and looked away. Yamada was still seething in rage.
“I will… never understand why Mister Togami and Miss Kirigiri put up with you…!”
Kamakura arched an eyebrow curiously.
“Oh…? You haven’t heard? The Foundation captured Kirigiri and Fujisaki a week ago. Togami is fortifying his castle for the inevitable final conflict to come.”
Yamada released a surprised gasp of shock while even Ludenberg’s eyes widened marginally. Togami didn’t actually have a castle, of course – Celes never would have allowed it. But to hear two more of their peers had been taken down… And two key players at that. It was devastating news indeed. Togami could boss them around all he liked, but he lacked the precision and coordination that Kirigiri possessed as a strategist. Without her, the others were going to get sloppy… just like what happened here in Towa City.
It was… getting to be the end of an era.
“Nnrgh… But that leaves… only a handful of us left!” Yamada grumbled in frustration. “Mister Oowada is holding out… as is Miss Oogami and Miss Asahina…! But if this keeps up, Ultimate Despair will face annihilation!”
Celes rolled her eyes in annoyance. They weren’t the only ones left, of course. But Genocider was a loose cannon, and it was only a matter of time before Ishimaru was captured. But the otaku had a point. They were experiencing too many losses. It was as if Enoshima’s death had actually marked a turning point in the war…
… And Celes was still very pissed she hadn’t gotten to kill Enoshima herself.
“… Wait just a second.” A thought occurred to Celes. And it wasn’t a pleasant one as she craned her neck to face Kamukura once more. “If you’re still here… That can only mean…”
Kamukura observed the back of his right hand dully.
“You are correct. It is that time.” The boy spoke with finality.
Celes cursed under her breath as she went for the blade hidden in her dress.
“I should have realized when you brought up Kirigiri…!” She hissed as she whirled her body around to face her attacker, knife drawn to defend herself. But it was much too late.
“Yes, you should have.” Kamukura said without missing a beat. He caught her swinging arm, spun around until he was behind her, and casually disarmed her while still holding onto her arm. In the next moment, he injected some needle into her neck, and she went out like a light. Kamakura allowed her to drop to the floor, and didn’t face to turn Yamada, who had brought out his own weapon, but was caught up in what happened to Celes.
“Miss Ludenberg…!” The otaku howled. He tried to get a shot off on Kamakura, but the boy disarmed him in a similar fashion, and the otaku collapsed as well once his own neck was injected with some kind of drug.
The ‘Ultimate Hope’ stood over the two Despairs nonchalantly as he looked out at the ruined Towa City and the wide open sea beyond it.
“It’s nearly time… a final battle between Hope and Despair that shall surpass all others.” The white-haired boy murmured softly.
Normally, he would have allowed Future Foundation to capture these two on their own… But at this point, after such a resounding victory, it would have made little sense to allow these two to escape. A blade breaks more easily once it has been shattered already, and the same applies to the gambler and otaku here. They wouldn’t be able to make a comeback worthy of a rematch against the Future Foundation. Ultimate Despair was crumbling, and it was soon going to be time for their ace-in-the-hole to be played. A card that could only be played when they’re on the verge of losing…
Kamakura fingered a photograph in his pocket without pulling it out to look at. It was a plan born from desperation, but it was not a flawless plan. Slim as it was, Hope could win against the stacked odds. Enoshima had demonstrated that all too well.
It was still possible… for Class 78 to retrieve their lost selves.
It was even possible… for Nagito Komaeda to return.
Wouldn’t that that just be the Devil’s Luck?
~*~
“Jeez… I forgot how annoying it was gonna be, staying on a boat with these guys.” Fuyuhiko huffed as he crossed his arms and leaned on a wall in aggravation.
Across from him, sitting in a chair at a meeting table was his little sister, her hands gripping her skirt in her lap and her eyes glaring acidly at the tabletop.
“I don’t get what the big deal is. Using that Hagakure bastard as an anchor was an amazing idea. We don’t need his punk ass waste of space clogging up the holding cells…” The young woman bitterly griped.
The Ultimate Yakuza barked out a laugh.
“Yeeeah… Too bad you forgot about the security cameras. Now Yukizome’s gonna be watching you like a hawk.”
“You could always throw him overboard for me! Or your hitman!” Natsumi pointed out.
“Except Yukizome said the three of us specifically aren’t allowed in that cellblock anymore. Otherwise I’d totally be onboard with that plan!” Fuyuhiko rolled his eyes. “But hey, maybe if we get enough people in on it, Yukizome will ban everyone, and the fucker will starve!”
“… I knew you were my favorite brother for a reason.”
“I’m you only brother.”
“Exactly!”
Hajime sweatdropped from his seat at a different end of the meeting table. He looked up at Peko quizzically.
“They’re not serious, right?” Hajime hoped he didn’t sound too pleading.
Peko merely closed her eyes and released a sigh before smiling in slight amusement.
“Hagakure tried to extort the Kuzuryu Clan in the past. It’s not a surprise they want to hang him dry.”
“Peko, you were supposed to say ‘no!’” Hajime whined, which earned a soft chuckle from the swordswoman as the siblings continued to bicker.
Souda was off in his own corner of the room, pulling his hat down his face and ignoring all them. Between Fujisaki really picking on him about his ‘shoddy’ work with programming the cameras, cells, and other machines on the ship, as well as being in the same cellblock when Oogami woke up and started trying to bust out, Souda was a nervous wreck with very low self-esteem at the moment. Hajime and Munakata assured the mechanic his work was top-notch as always, but it still really hurt his pride to be insulted by someone in a similar field, even if they were in Despair and probably didn’t mean every critique they said… probably…
Nothing could be done about the scare with Oogami, though. The Ultimate Fighter really was an Ogre.
When the door to the room opened, all eyes but Souda’s curiously turned to see who the next ones in would be. It was Mikan, accompanied by… Byakuya Togami. Or, well, someone dressed like him, even with his fat figure. The nurse was sobbing, sadly as usual…
“I-I-I’m sorry… She wasn’t eating her meals, and we already have Asahina-san and Yamada-kun on IV drips in the infirmary!” The purple-headed woman clutched the top of her head in a panic.
“I told you, it’s fine,” the man disguised as Togami insisted, ushering the nurse to a chair near Hajime. “Munakata had taken Togami for an interrogation anyway, so it was easy enough to order Fukawa to eat. We knew this would happen based off the information we had on her, so I came prepared. It wasn’t a big deal, really.”
The Imposter was having little success in stifling the nurse’s wails, but everyone had a better idea of what set her off this time. Episodes like these were certainly bound to happen, since specific members of Ultimate Despair had vowed to starve themselves for the Despair that would bring. Even if Fukawa wasn’t quite like the rest of her classmates – possessing the same glowing red eyes and obsession with Despair – she still listened to whatever Togami ordered her to do. And because she trailed after him like a mutt, Togami had cruelly taken advantage of her lapdog nature. Her other personality, Genocider, was a full-fledged Remnant of Despair like the rest of her class, but she only became a problem when Fukawa… sneezed, triggering the change in personality. Reasoning with Genocider was impossible, so they were thankful for an easy way to deal with her, even if it was weird as hell.
Not that the other Remnants were any easier to convince to let go of their debilitating habits.
“It’ll be fine, Mikan!” Hajime promised as he laid a hand on her shoulder consolingly. “We only have to put up with this for a little longer. Once we reach Jabberwock, we just have to put them in the Neo World Program. Hopefully then, they’ll revert to their former selves, and we’ll be able to help them after that.”
It was a bit like chanting a prayer at this point, but everyone in the room was used to saying or hearing that by now. They simply needed that constant reminder to make the journey at sea bearable.
“I’m not so sure about that…” Everyone turned to the door once again as Kyosuke Munakata strode in with a grim expression. “Gekkogahara reported in just a few minutes ago, and said they might not have the program ready by the time we reach our destination. They’re doing everything in their power, but it’s just not looking realistic at this point that they’ll be able to make it run smoothly in time.”
“S-So what are you saying?” Souda stuttered out nervously. He seemed to have an idea of the situation, but he didn’t want to acknowledge it.
“He’s saying we may need to look after the Remnants for a little longer…” The Imposter muttered quietly, but factually. “Or, worst case scenario, we’ll have to rehabilitate them without the program.”
“Are you kidding meee?!” Kazuichi howled, making a frightened expression. Fuyuhiko gritted his teeth and stared down at the floor.
“Tch. I wish he was…”
 Munakata closed his eyes solemnly.
“I called Tengan, and he’ll be sending reinforcements in a few days. This will include Nidai and Owari, as well as Koizumi and Mioda.” They would need their exceptional eyes and ears in the event an incident broke out on the island. Thankfully, security cameras and lodgings were in place, but it wasn’t going to be easy to keep an eye on the Remnants in such an unsecure place. Anything could go wrong, especially with exceptionally talented prisoners as the Remnants of Despair. Why, Aoi Asahina on her own was going to need to be isolated from the ocean as much as possible.
Especially around the boats… She had been an absolute menace at sea, sinking vessels indiscriminately.
“So what’s the deal with Togami?” Natsumi brought up all of a sudden, causing everyone to tune in again. “You’ve been giving him the third degree a lot.”
“I am hoping to secure a tentative truce with him.” Munakata uneasily replied. “I do not trust him, but if we can get even one of their leaders to keep the rest in line, our stay on Jabberwock will hopefully be less of a burden.”
The answer they received resulted in many widening their eyes in shock, and a few skeptical cries from the Kuzuryu siblings.
“What exactly are you negotiating?!” Fuyuhiko exclaimed after a few minutes of people talking in a panic.
“Nothing outrageous.” Munakata replied with a stony face, looking Kuzuryu in the eye and reminding the yakuza that he was in charge. “We already planned to let the Remnants stay in the lodgings for however long it takes to get the program up and running, but Togami has… demanded that they be allowed access to certain possessions and things. They will not be allowed weapons, but to a degree it will be as if they are ‘guests’ while staying with us on the island.”
Natsumi scoffed loudly.
“So, we’re gonna let ‘em live comfy while we bust our asses to get them rehabilitated?” The young girl accused.
“It’s better than restricting them completely,” Munakata countered. “If we allow them no comforts, they will eventually try to stage a mutiny, as Oogami has demonstrated by trying to break out of her cell. But if they feel less like prisoners, then they will feel less inclined to escape the island, no matter how slightly. Again, they will not be given materials that they can harm us, themselves, or the outside world – Fujisaki will not be given a laptop that has Wi-Fi capabilities, nor will Oowada be given a motorcycle. We will listen to what they want, within reason, and be generous hosts. In return, Togami will assert his authority and keep everyone relatively in line.”
Silence permeated the room after that. Some of them didn’t like this turn of events, but it was sounding like this was their only safe option. The alternative would be to run themselves ragged in restricting everything the Remnants did, and all the Remnants would have to do is wait them out, bide their time. They couldn’t afford to do that; the world would be in danger yet again if this turned into a battle of attrition.
“Why approach Togami?” Hajime said after a while, earning a look from Munakata. “Kirigiri seems like she’d be more reasonable to negotiate with… Heck, Kamakura could physically overpower any of them – even Oogami.”
Fuyuhiko hissed as he raked a hand through his short hair.
“Kirigiri might be more ‘reasonable,’ but she’s helluva lot harder to read.” The yakuza groused. “Any ‘harmless’ thing she asks for could be deadly, or it could be a red herring to throw us off. I trust her way less than Togami.”
For more reasons than one.
“And as for Kamakura, we don’t know his objectives.” Munakata explained with a thoughtful frown. “He is the only Remnant to have turned himself in, but this could all be a ploy to release everyone and deal a crippling blow to the Foundation. It is much harder to put faith in a man who has the power to do anything, but did nothing to stem the war and bloodshed.”
Hajime was forced to admit, they had more than a few good points. Togami was narcissistic, arrogant, and greedy, but at least they could read him, somewhat.
“What do we do now?” The Imposter asked the question that was on all their minds as he crossed his arms. Munakata mirrored him.
“Teruteru, Tanaka, and Yukizome are feeding the last of the Remnants, so lunch is about over. We’re two days out from the island, so not much longer to go. Just keep monitoring them, and report anything suspicious. I will go over the procedures to disembark, once we reach Jabberwock. Just stay vigilant – we will make it through this.”
With all of that explained, Munakata strode out of the room, leaving the contemplative members of Class 77 to their thoughts.
