Well it appears I am alive and ready for another day of work

All I’ve eaten for two days that I didn’t throw up was half a cup of chicken and rice soup.   I am about to attempt coffee.

I can’t take liquid Pepto.  Ironically the very instant I swallow it, I throw up.  So I know what to take if I need to throw up.  I found some Pepto tablets and a two-year-old Immodium in the bottom of my medicine drawer last night and took both and I’m holding it together okay. Most of my day today will be spent on a bus going out of town to an unfamiliar school for a UIL tournament, so I def didn’t want to be running to the bathroom every few minutes.  I get the idea that calling in sick is frowned upon but screw that.   After last year I am never letting anyone guilt me into working when I am sick again.

Once every few months I go through the straightedge tag just to see what’s there

Today I found 5 guys who looked like lumberjacks (there is no word in the English language for the disdain I have for beards) and a few badly lit selfies.   With ever-present hope, I followed one blog that probably has not updated in 3 years.

I had the best day at work today

I cannot get over the fact that I work at a place where I am valued and my opinions are taken seriously, where I can suggest something and be told more times than not “That’s a really good idea, let’s try it” Of my last two bosses, one was so sadistic I was terrified of her and the other was a convicted pedophile whose place I eventually took and when I did the male employees let me know that they had more respect for that degenerate than they wever would a woman.  

The place I work now is just like heaven.  It’s amazing.  I’m still shell shocked and I am still really scared and nervous around my boss but he is such a gneuinely good guy.    Today we had an awards assembly for the kids who participated and place in UIL and let me tell you, we had A  LOT of winners.   The last school I taught at, the principals howed up at UIL for 5 minutes, that was it.  Our principal stayed the entire day   The last school I tuaght at we only had 2 kids place.  This school we had 15.   The way these kids cheered for each other when the names got called nearly brought me to tears.  You would have thought they were rock stars.  We got to hand out medals and put them over their heads and it was just the best experience.   I was so proud.   19 more days and it will be Christmas break and there is so much to do, we have a dance to plan, an open house to plan, decorate for and execute, and a Christams bash all day the last day of school on top of two grades a week.  It’s a lot of work but I am so grateful to have this job. And I could not have had this opportunity if I had given up all the times I wanted to. It’s a hard life sometimes but then there are days like today where you feel drunk even when you are sober, when you can’t believe you lucked out and you don’t know how you got here until you look back really hard and realize you deserve it.
