Sydney is a little DID coded and here's my very minuscule reasoning behind it

okay LISTEN i have been pouring through sydney interactions to find sys-coded things that stuck out to me specifically and its,,, NOT a lot, but theyre also too?? weird to ignore??

this interaction is very brief, and really hard to miss honestly if you aren't actively looking for it. this is after a nonconsensual spanking encounter if you fight back against a pure sydney that you arent in a relationship with. not only is this, imo, an out of pocket thing for pure syd to say, but the "looking around in confusion" gets me also, as if they arent aware of what just happened or what they just said.

to cross reference, corrupt sydney says something similar when being punished in the library:

there's also this interaction that i found in sydney's events wiki comments, presumably from the same scene but i'm unable to verify it even after attempting to replicate it and asking around. if this interaction doesn't actually exist in game please disregard! (but if it does and you know how to get it please share im begging)

another thing that absolutely drives me insane is the sydney nightmare sequence depicting corrupt and pure sydney as two separate people

like its probably unintentional BUT,,, it could also be incredibly on purpose (i am coping)

so! all of this, combined with the fact that we know something traumatic happened to sydney when they were younger AND they have memory issues in general due to the asylum but also general DID shenaniganry, leads me to want to root for sysdney especially as a system myself! itd be very intriguing if mental health topics were explored more and i think sydney would be an amazing person to do that with

i love sydney so much just for the fact that you’re not forced into encounters with them, even when they’re corrupt. you, as the player, are always the one to initiate sex with them. they never force themselves on you, or even approach you to initiate sex. it’s so different compared to encounters with other love interests, where they’re the ones to initiate or force themselves on you. it’s so easy to avoid sex with sydney because they never approach you asking to!! it’s really interesting tbh
