last thing, the flesh cloud is said to be unreliable to colorpicking skintones. /nm the flesh cubes (done by @\puppsicle on twitter) are said to be more accurate...

Gotcha. I never go on Twitter (Hellsite(nickname) vs Hellsite (literal)), so that went under my nose. I'll check it out!

Incidentally, if you're struggling with skintones, there's multiple different sources of colour palettes you can use for free that aren't super ashy. A couple of my favourites (I thought I had more but clearly I didn't save them, which is a shame) – the second one is a tutorial but does contain sample colours to use too:

This includes but is not limited to:

Drawing nice brown skin, not that desaturated grey or weak, watercolor brown that is "supposedly" shades of brown skin and "indicative of Black person". Dark brown is still brown, not ash. Even if your character is the darkest possible, they should still look alive.

Drawing nice brown skin on characters that actually look like they're supposed to be Black people. I don't care how nice the brown is if it's still on that same white dude with the same ass hair. Brown skin is not the only thing that makes Black people "Black". Your Black viewers can tell the difference.

Afro hair textures! Please. Again. I'm always one more fanart away from leaping off a bridge when I see the right. You can do it. It takes studying, but you can do it.

If you're worried your "fans" won't like it as much as other artists' work during your events, you should consider the type of attention that you're seeking (and the environment that you're in!) But anyone worth keeping will appreciate your efforts.
