On a rocky cliffside overlooking rolling moors as far as the eye can see sits a dark, towering manor home made of brick and iron. Tempestuous clouds cast a perpetual drizzle on the countryside and nearby forest, leaving the air damp and cold. Surely the generous owner of the manor the villagers whispered about will let you shelter there.  Maybe you’ll gather some interesting material for your research… Investigate the macabre manor, its eccentric inhabitants, and the nearby village through interviews and observation. What is the relationship between the unliving and villagers? Why do members of the community go missing without a trace? How long has the Vampire actually been alive?

Vampire Manor is a solo-journaling game where you explore a vampire's ancient manor and the surrounding village to learn more about the community and write an ethnography on them. 

Pull cards to ask questions of the residents, roll dice to see how well interactions go, and get to know a number of residents and fellow travelers, from a petty thief, to wandering nomads, a vampire hunter, and the intimidating Vampire. Unlock 12 different locations and gain levels in friendship and familiarity with the community as you document your discoveries in field notes.

You'll need: A d20, d12, and d8, and a deck of playing cards

Vampire Manor is a setting of For Truth's Sake by @hmooncreates. It was inspired by Dracula by Bram Stoker, Castlevania (Netflix), and Curse of Strahd.

lost township: the homegame

howdy yall :D i made a post like this a while ago that very much needed to be updated and i simply talk about and tag characters from lost township a lot so i wanted to have an easy place to reference for what in the hell im talking about and something to throw at people when i want to infodump. so!!

the game:

lost township is a d&d homegame set in a fictionalized, magical 1880s wild west. its set in the american-equivalent country the democracy of silver and includes all of the magic that we know from typical d&d games. it's based in the town of lost, in the state of undersun, sandwiched between harsh deserts and the mountains

the pcs:

cass bluebell - she/her - human drunken master monk - played by @strangetorpedos

cass is the owner of the saloon in lost and mother to adopted 6 year old davey. she's stoic, fair, and always just a little too weary for all the things on her plate. she took over the saloon about 5 years ago after the murder of her mother by the mysterious assassin the brownbird, and spent years trying to solve the murder to no avail (until recently). middle aged repressed lesbian on main, didn't sign up for this shit - art

divine is the schoolteacher in lost and lives with her wife sarah and brother-in-law hawk. former southern belle of the rich intervention family, now barely scraping by as the breadwinner of the household. chronically babygirl coded, ultimate bambi lesbian. is the angel of the deer god of poetry but currently follows the bear god of fire and families and talks to her god like she's her mom (she is in their hearts). currently dating(?) sheriff lizzie - tag

maeve is a former sex worker turned recently hired psychopomp of the raven queen, soon to be doing the psychopomp thing full time. she always has the most insane response possible no matter what the question was and does not know how to read. she also did not know what a psychopomp was when she agreed to be one. is currently under the tutelage of latrowe, the raven queen's current psychopomp, and has been being plagued by dreams and nightmares she knows aren't her own

morel is the local witch doctor and prophet of the god of fungi and decay. lived on the outskirts of lost for many years, providing free healthcare to the vulnerable townsfolk who weren't safe with the town's stuffy doctor. after pining for years, finally in a relationship with cat after the "unfortunate" murder of her former husband, and jointly raising her daughter kitten and their mysteriously delivered baby juniper. goth sad cow - tag

onion is a smuggler and deliverer of changelings who was introduced to the party with the task of safely transporting them from lost to the neighboring state. he's Fey Neurodivergent and a bit of a grumpy messy dyke (gender neutral) who doesn't have a ton of connections but cares about his people very deeply. chosen family with waylon squad and best friends with brandi - tag

will orville - he/him - werewolf gunslinger fighter - played by @punkbarbarian

will is an "investigator" (mercenary) who was brought to town under instructions to find and kill the brownbird and then ended up staying because he is a big old sad puppydog who needed to learn to love again and is. he is so so autism dad on main and cries at the drop of a hat (affectionate). currently dating scruggs, the first relationship he's been in since his husband was killed 13 years ago - tag

When I was younger, “rap” music (not hip hop, that’s the culture) was fun. Everyone had their own sound, style and, they brought what they felt was lacking to the game and said “this is who I/we am/are”. We literally went from party and drug dealer music to unintelligible drug user music where a lot of these cats are “clones�� bearing the same persona and sound as the next person. Rap music used to be the #CNN of whatever region it came from. You had the chance to learn and see what’s going on right outside your front door as well as what’s going on in other places. i wanted to share one of my birthday presents which is just. genuinely one of the sweetest gifts i've ever gotten. i hadn't posted it already cause i had to Savor it for a bit first (read through the entire thing and hold it and stare at the collages forever and ever) but it is time

so this is lost time. a collection of stories about my homegame lost township. titled after a line i wrote in one of those stories. they were collected, put in chronological order, given song titles (the npcs and locations in the game are all named after musical artists/bands/songs), and then formatted, printed, and bound by @paladinbaby

it has stories in it from me, faun (paladinbaby), hollis (@masculinepeacock), and leo (@punkbarbarian) and has three gorgeous collages made by sav (@grasslandgirl)

i had to autism pace around my house for a full hour after i got the package. i was just so utterly speechless at how thoughtful and kind and perfect it was. you can really tell how much care went into making it and reading everyone's stories in chronological order really has me feeling some sort of way

also there's a playlist that goes with it to represent all the stories so now i get to be autistic about my book when i can't sit down and read it too <333

wait can you explain the premise of your dnd campaign I am so curious about it

YES I ABSOLUTELY CAN

so the basic premise is that its based on the tv show the librarians (which only our dm has seen lmaoo)

a long time ago magic was very free and well known, but an evil king was using magic to oppress and harm people, and so many bad people had their hands on magic, that the court apothecary convinced the king's sister to intervene (because they were gay for each other). the king's sister, in a great act of magic, sealed away much of the magic of the world into a library, forming herself into an immortal god of knowledge and sealing away the apothecary to act as her immortal cleric and the keeper of the library

several hundred years later, the keeper of the library's child betrayed the library, stole away a bunch of the magic artifacts that kept the library functioning, and theyre now working with the very bad people who have obtained those artifacts and are trying to use them to unleash magic in the world once again. the library stays functional by having one librarian, who keeps the knowledge, and one guardian, the library's protector, at all times. however the bad people have gone and murdered all the viable candidates and now what's left is the very bottom of the barrel (us)

our dm is @beatricexbenedick who is insane in the head (affectionate)

i play bo dawson, a human ranger/cleric and a guardian of the library. he was framed for a murder attempt as a child and grew up in juvie, and had been serving his years of community service by working as a firewatcher in a national park when the library found him. has a service dog named dolly because his special interest is dolly parton and is a good downhome southern boy

@strangetorpedos is nox, a tiefling divination wizard. nox grew up in a community that knew about magic but banned its use, and after having a falling out with their parents ran away, starting learning magic, and was making it on his own but scraping by when they got recruited

@punkbarbarian is kai, a human sun soul monk, who didn't know about magic growing up but learned that his grandmother was a cleric of the japanese goddess amaterasu and that she's chosen them as her monk. after their grandmother died he was bounced around in foster care until emancipating themself and had been slumming it up in boston working odd gigs and just trying to get by

nettle is a more recent addition and is played by @paladinbaby. she's an alchemist artificer/wild magic sorcerer and only just found out she's an aasimar. she found the library entirely on accident and was convinced magic was not real but that making potions or having infinite space in your bag after doing some embroidery on it was just like. stuff normal people could do. she's simply been having a very bad time since becoming the library intern

the npcs are also fucking insane so theres: wren (the apothecary turned immortal keeper of the library, she is a bitchy 900 year old lady), lensa (god of the library, permanently stuck as a 23 year old), ezzy (the oldest librarian, traumatized middle aged artificer werewolf, has a semi estranged teenage daughter), sylvie (wrens child, the betrayer, now with the bad guys. has a dragon.), theo (eldest daughter of the main villains, was dating sylvie, is now? on our side kind of?), c (younger child of the main villains. on our side but is scary about it. hates theo), bubba (bo's father who he was reunited with after like 17 years, middle aged ranger, is raising ezzy's teenage daughter but Its Complicated), rosie (the daughter, teenage werewolf, Figuring Herself Out, bo's new foster sister)

did i mention that our entire party is autistic and it was on accident because the other three players did not know they were autistic until i got my grimy social worker fingers on them

anyway we're all having a normal time!!!!!! as you can tell!!!!

first lensa session after like two months. we run a session of downtime scenes because today was my first day of classes.

first scene was nox (@strangetorpedos) talking about their daddy/parents issues with ezzy. scene has office hours vibes of a distressed student talking to their professor vibes. the next scene is Kai (@punkbarbarian) meeting his bf Tuck's family for the first time. tuck's mom laughs at Kai because their so tense. lensa makes ezzy buy kai condoms. then frankie (@agentcalliope) has her bday dinner with her uncles and they gift her a Sun Blade (in preparation for a....future fight maybe 👀👀). then nettle (@paladinbaby) calls her dad <3 and discovers that he's still in contact with someone who knew her mom.

bathroom break. then we come back to a harrowing bo (@creacherkeeper) scene. he goes to get his stuff from his mom's house, and takes a really bitchy npc with him. essentially theo is his attack dog. theo comes back to the library w him and nettle, who has never met theo before rolls a nat20 insight on her. oh yeah everyone discovers that theo is a hexblood. then nettle gave frankie a best friend necklace and frankie cried on her <3
