Fashion Face Off: Shilpa Shetty Or Rakul Preet, Who Nailed The Printed Look?
Our favourite celebs always sashay in the best of cuts, prints, and silhouettes. We have often spotted them wearing the same outfit and yet they look so distinguished. Well, of course, credit goes to their stylists but their individual fashion choices are also exemplary. Recently, both stunners Shilpa Shetty and Rakul Preet Singh wonderfully wore the classic, blue and white print from couturier Punit Balanas Spring Summer collection. We definitely couldn't decide a winner in this fashion face off!
Tumblr media
While Shilpa draped a Punit Balana saree adorned with those blue and white prints and completed her look with a matching ruffled blouse, Rakul opted for a contemporary look. She wore the prints in the form of a layered maxi skirt with one shoulder top. You can emulate Shilpa's avatar for a wedding or pull off Rakuls co-ords for a cocktail party: The choice is totally yours!

Sayani Gupta at ‘Posham Pa’ Screening : As much as I appreciate a modern twist of a saree every now and then, this Punit Balana look is just a printed fabric wrapped around Sayani with no clear vision of where this design is supposed to go. Maybe it looked good on the ramp, but at least here it's not working.

Florals might seem a little passé to some people especially when coupled with a printed chiffon saree so here’s a little something whipped up by Shilpa Shetty. Raveena Tandon, Priyanka Chopra and Shilpa Shetty failed the fashion test
Tumblr media
Raveena Tandon, Priyanka Chopra and Shilpa Shetty failed the fashion test - If you have followed the trail, you'd know that we take fashion seriously. Serious enough to take brick and bats for it and serious enough to give some (not bricks) banters back for the love of it. Yes, every individual has their own fabric they like to experiment with but when you are a celebrity, the pressure to get it right is almost always. Because hey, you wouldn't want the generation to run around wearing catastrophic designs, would you? And that is exactly why we take the pain to weed out the 'Nays' from the 'Yays' and-- it is what it is--you don't have to really thank us. So here goes... From Priyanka Chopra to Shilpa Shetty here are the worst dressed ladies of the week. Don't @ us. Priyanka Chopra
Tumblr media
04-11-2018-Priyanka-Chopra PeeCee sails against the tide and there are no two ways about that but not every day can be a slay day. Know what we mean? We usually dig the rockstar lewk on the global diva but this Moncler jacket goes a little overboard. Some are even of the opinion, we won't tell you who, that it is inspired by a chute bag. Ouch! PS: We would bid for the sunnies though. Shilpa Shetty
Tumblr media
04-11-2018-Shilpa-Shetty Shilpa probably thought she'd pull this off like every other saree, but TBH, this Label Punit Balana creation is not of the same closet collection. You'd want to call it smart but the urge to call it dull overshadows all and the jacket on one shoulder and the fall on the other don't complement each other. Raveena Tandon
Tumblr media
04-11-2018-Raveena-Tandon Raveena recently took a leaf out of the Boho book and stepped out wearing an Anamika Khanna creation. But, alas, it is not easy on the eyes. If anything, it goes overboard too with a plethora of prints and on places we could have done without. Also, do not get us started on the tassels! Sophie Choudry
Tumblr media
04-11-2018-Sophie-Choudry Sophie is mostly ramp-ready but this Monisha Jaising number gave us a lot of deja-vu and not in a good way. Not calling names but the design is not exactly indigenous. Also, the cuts did nothing for her curves. Natasha Poonawalla
Tumblr media
04-11-2018-Natasha-Poonawalla Socialite in every sense, Natasha is also a bonafide fashionista. But we were quite aghast with the Alexander McQueen number in question for obvious reasons. Hey, we commend guts that go with anything that's risqué but we should always know where to draw the line. Layers, in this case, no? This festive season, adorn ramp-ready looks
India, the land of festivals, is known across the world for its diversity in culture. It is a place where people from different religions co-exist harmoniously, where each festival is celebrated with the same enthusiasm, showcasing its rich culture and traditions. These festivals signify all things Indian with its roots seeped deep in mythology and many tales regarding its origin. Along with these festivals come religious rituals and ceremonies that are practised in countless homes in India.
One thing that separates Indian culture from all other cultures is the way men and women adorn Indian traditional wear for preaching the Godly entities. The entire county, especially from the month of October to January, seems to be dressed in vibrant colours. During festive seasons, people go on shopping sprees and splurge on endless designer dresses. From designer lehengas, designer saris, kurtis and churidars to anarkalis, dresses, and jewellery…every traditional outfit is meticulously planned beforehand.
Even the B-town celebs are no exception to flaunting gorgeous designer wear clothing during the festive season. Actors and actresses like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Janvhi Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra, etc. have time and again been spotted in various designer pieces that are just harmonious with the festive season. Top Indian fashion designers like Sabyasachi, Manish Malhotra, Anita Dongre, Tarun Tahiliani, Varun Bahl, Gaurav Gupta, Anushree Reddy etc. offer exclusive traditional wear collections that are just right for swaying the festive mood.
Madhuri Dixit Nene flaunting a pink nivika modal printed kurta with chanderi silk churidar and a modal silk mulmul dupatta from Anita Dongre collection is an exemplary option to don on this Ganesh Chaturthi. The light fabrics and intricate embroideries with traditional crafts of gota patti, dori, pearls and zardozi on the designer tunic make it an ostentatious piece to be owned by any girl for the festive season.
Trailing the lines of modest and elegant outfits is this AM:PM georgette floral embroidered tunic adorned by the one and only Alia Bhatt for special screening of her blockbuster movie Raazi. The white georgette tunic with multicoloured floral embroidery paired with white palazzos and a silk dupatta makes it an excellent outfit choice for this Navratri season. One can always amp up the look with their favourite accessories to add that OOMPH factor to this gorgeous ensemble.
Contemporary yet chic is what this Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Punit Balana embroidered short flared anarkali with gharara and dupatta can be truly described as. The ivory mulmul kurta enhanced with hand embroidered threadwork and flared short anarkali is the perfect attire to set the festive mood right. From Diwali to Durga Puja, one can always reach out for this ensemble. Another captivating outfit donned by this Begum of Pataudi was this electric blue silk high low tunic top accentuated by a deep neckline and gold toned desert sage foil printed motifs all over from the House of Masaba. Paired with a blue golden grid skirt, this designer outfit would be an exquisite choice for indo-western fashion.
The list of fashion designer clothes for the festive season can never be completed without having Manish Malhotra Collections listed in it. From modish lehengas, kurtas, and tunics to bridal sarees and ghagras, one can find endless traditional wear options bearing the designer’s label. This Manish Malhotra ivory by peach net Kashmiri embroidered kurta set worn by Priyanka Chopra is a splendid statement piece, perfect to be adorned on this Diwali. The elegant Kashmiri embroidery all over the kurta and dupatta and pearl fringes on the sleeve add a graceful appeal to the overall ensemble. You can team it with some designer jewellery and mojadis to complete the look.
When looking for designer kurtis, designer jackets or designer dresses for the festive season, SVA by Sonam and Paras Modi is a collection that one can always look forward to. Most of the creations at SVA Couture reflect our Indian heritage, colour and craftsmanship. This beige and blue silk anarkali kurta with lehenga swayed by Aditi Rao Hydari is an exemplary example that exhibits the designer duo’s vibrant and strong Indian aesthetics. One can easily avail their stunning collections at Aza online fashion store or simply from Aza Fashions store outlet in Mumbai.
This festive season, dazzle like a diva by spreading magic with your outfits. Adorn hot ramp-ready looks and be at the centre of spotlight with the impeccable designer collections at Aza Fashions.
