i don’t want to do this anymore. i want to go home and do DIY and read about theology and crochet and seam that top i’m making and arrange all my embroidery thread and sew flowers on the pockets of my jeans and kiss me wife and learn how to woodwork and paint that little chip in the living room wall. and knit that cardigan and buy more mohair and kiss my wife again. i want to sew my own pads and a nice pair of wide leg trousers. i want to do the embroidery kits my sister got me for my birthday. i want to learn tunisian crochet. i want to try colour work and sew a skirt and kiss my wife and hang artwork in the office and get a stand for my loom and learn to weave rigid heddle. and i have tapestry weaving projects to finish. and i want to bake golden syrup cake and coffee cake and pumpkin maple cake and passion fruit curd cake. i want to bake challah every friday and never have laundry piled up. i want to cuddle my cats and watch only connect. i want to get my wife a pottery wheel and sit beside her knitting quietly whilst she throws me a new coffee mug. i want to play stardew valley the expanded version with all the new adventurers.
what i am doing instead is drinking bitter vending machine coffee and thinking bitter little thoughts about how fucking bored and undervalued i am at work. i am just ROTTING here in this office. and i shouldn’t be.

For the Halloween asks 🎃
Wool of bat, black cat, & pumpkin 🧡🖤
pumpkin - what are your hobbies?
Obviously, I write, but I also like to paint and bake. I also bought an embroidery kit so we will see if that becomes another thing I like..
black cat - if you could possess a magical ability, what would it be?
There are so many good ones but I think I'd like be good with someting akin to the force. Cause why not and star wars is the best
wool of bat - which fairytale would you choose to live in?
I have no clue what I'd choose bc classic fairytales are kinda not the place to be. But I'd definitely get down with Beast in his castle if given the chance.

I've been pretty mid about buying things lately: pretty good irl, terrible online. So here's a little haul from the last time I went to Goodwill and the dollar store.
This is everything that wasn't sheets or pillowcases. Most of it I wouldn't have bought, but they were all in the same bag as something I did want. Also, I still don't have a great place to take photos in our house, and I had to move my beginning-to-rot Strahd pumpkin, so this is about as good as it gets for now.
So there were just little plastic items in a bag, donkey kong and gay grampa and taco dog, as well as some little Pokémon favors? I think I'm going to see if my mom wants any of these for her students, because I don't want them lol.
The minotaur in his labyrinth.
What I did want in that bag was:
Patamon keychain!! He's so cute, and already attached to my bag. Patamon is defo one of my favorite Digimon, so even though he was the only thing I really wanted in this bag, I really wanted him.
Also I totally forgot to take a photo of just this, but I also found one of Clawdeen's bunk beds, and I wanted it. I love doll beds, especially since we have kittens that are the perfect size for this one...
Next!
I said I had to get this pillow, and I meant it. It's pretty squishy, and it fits with my other junk, and I like it a lot.
I wanted to get a quick shot of one of the ribbons I got, because it's a simple, fun stock art design. I'll probably use it as trim or cut it up for doll dresses.
Side note, I've seen so many really cool washi tape rolls, but I don't use washi tape for anything! And I know it's pretty easy to do, but if these designs were ribbons instead... Think about it.
I was trying to highlight the fabric I got, because I think it'll be pretty nice for sewing little plushies. Also in needlework, I got a cheetah embroidery kit that I didn't take a good photo of because I'm not very good at embroidery and want to practice.
That was all the stuff at the dollar store, and half the stuff from Goodwill, and the rest was bedsheets and pillowcases. I got a striped queen duvet cover and a different patterned top sheet, both of which were the color of the week and so $2 each, and both of which have already been cut up for different patterns, so I didn't bother taking a good picture of them. Also they both have some gross stains, so um. I think I know why they lasted so long at the thrift store.
In addition to those, I got a solid blue pillowcase for a doll outfit, a solid white for possibly an apron, and the best pillowcase I've seen in a long, long time:
Who actually outgrows their Ancient Egyptian phase anyway??
Bonus Carver because he's cute
As I've complained about before, I really want to try to go out more and just... look at stuff, take photos of the weird stuff I find and want to remember, buy more bedsheets and sew more. We'll see!

I personally have been learning to embroider and repair clothes, What about you?
-Oldie 🧶🧵
Good evening Oldie 🧶🧵!
EMBROIDER AND REPAIRING CLOTHES SOUNDS SO COOL, I tried my hand at embroidery but it hasn't gone too well but practice helps ya get better bit by bit!
I like to jokingly refer to myself as an Ace of many hobbies [like jack of all trades but with Ace and hobbies]
I HAVE MANY THINGS I'M VERY PASSIONATE ABOUT, Art, yarn, crochet, candle making, as one could guess from my blog writing and other things I can't remember at the moment
Most recently though I've been trying to crochet a plushie for my online friend who's flying down this summer, they have a OC who has a pet pig and I'm crocheting the pig! The yarn I'm using is soft but it has like an odd texture to work with so I have to wear gloves or I'll want to cry, but it's worth it for my friend I've been crocheting for almost a year now but I still can't do too much like certain stitches or a magic circle, MAGIC CIRCLES ARE THE WORST RAAAAA, I really want to learn how to make a strawberry stitch
Strawberries are lowkey my whole brand on my main blog and socials and I love em' a lot, don't tell my friends but I actually prefer mangos a little bit more then strawberries. THE STRAWBERRY STITCH CAN ALSO BE USED TO MAKE PUMPKINS, I love pumpkins, anyways IMAGINE A LIL' BAG WITH THAT PATTERN IT'D BE SO CUTE
granny squares are also the bane of my existence I'm making a sweater that uses them, it was supposed to be for my birthday, my birthday was months ago, maybe I can wear it for my 19th! It took me a bit to learn all the abbreviations for crocheting, for example this list
I usually [pardon my wording] bullshit my way through making plushies or anything really.
So far I've crocheted two dinos, a several octopuses [I've given em' to my family, my dad keeps one in his car!] A shark, a standing cow, a couple of blankets [two completed and one incomplete, the last one was supposed to be for my late dog but unfortunately he passed away before I could finish it and I haven't quite worked up the confidence to finish it but we're planning on adopting another dog soon so maybe I could finish it for them? I don't know I don't want my dog to think I'm betraying him or anything.] I made two pillows, a few of those little mini crochet Pinterest ghosts for some younger family members of mine [they loved em'!] And an among us character that appears and disappears at random
Here are some of them! The dinosaur is a present for my best friend's birthday, they haven't picked it up yet [Moony if you're somehow reading this, don't mind the weird parts of this blog and also DO NOT PROCEED THIS IS A SURPRISE]
[Don't mind my nails, I have a bad habit of biting]
As you can tell they aren't perfect but I'm improving! I liked crocheting the hooves for the little cow.
I'm also making a mushroom hat for renfair! I'm cosplaying one of my OCs and she's a mushroom themed fay/elf thing that sells shady stuff from her stand. I burned my finger while working on it like a second degree burn [DO NOT LIGHT GLUE STICKS THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO GO IN A GLUE GUN ON FIRE, BAD IDEA.] So until I'm healed it's on pause but it should be done by the end of the month so I'm excited about that! I used cardboard as a base and then bendable wire to get the shape I wanted and then I put fabric over it, glued it and put the bottom layer of fabric on the bottom and then covered it with pearls, white spots and little details I'm gonna add more when I'm healed.
I got this candle making kit for Christmas that has a little transportable stove and I haven't gotten the chance to use it yet so I'm planning to make some candles this soon I'm gonna make some themed off of characters to give to my friends! I made my best friend a Silco from arcane themed candle for Christmas last year I think? Or the year before that, I cut a silhouette of the character into vinyl and stick it on the glass part of the candle, Might make a Stardew valley themed one for me, my friend likes blue lock [I think that's the name?] So might make a blue lock candle or one based off of their OC, and might make either a bluey one for my best bud or a game character they like,
I tend to use soy wax as it's the cheapest I can get and it's highly recommended I think, be careful on what you put in your candles [like dried flower petals, leaves etc etc] they can and will catch on fire and BAM SOMEONES ON FIRE.
This is more rambling then info dumping, I don't know how to info dump properly, I remember rambling about Flappers ago, I would copy paste it here but the majority of it is me referring to the wikipedia and taking bits from it to quote and then telling my friends that I got it from the wikipedia.
Anyways thank you for listening that helped a bunch! Time to write!

Chapter 47.
An interesting new sunny day. It was very warm outside the window, bright rays of light gently touched the foliage of trees, bushes and other plants. The wind only occasionally stirred them, soon everything was quiet, and the soothing voices of birds were heard.
Everything was fine at home with friends, too : after breakfast, everyone began to do various interesting things : Bendy watered flowers in the garden ; Lara painted landscapes ; Alice sewed a new outfit ; Boris disassembled mechanisms.
Soon Bendy came into Lara's room. He saw her drawing and said, "Oh, Lau, what a wonderful landscape you are creating!... The colors are perfectly matched, and the plants are so neatly drawn..."
"Thank you, Bendy... I'm almost done, I only need to sketch a few more trees..."
"If you want, we can draw together... Or do you want to go to lunch now, princess?..."
"Later..."
"As you wish, dear... I think today I'll paint your stunning portrait again... Although you are much more beautiful in life than in drawings..."
"I like your art, your fascinating style..."
"Thank you very much, dearest... You're perfect in everything... By the way, sunshine, I wanted to ask..."
"Yes, cutie?..."
"Would you like to go to a magical island tomorrow?... Of course, we're going on a trip with friends, I think they'll be happy to join us..."
"No doubt... Which place place will we visit?..."
"To the island of Bright and Mysterious Wonders... Do you remember, we recently read a little article about it?... Such an island is definitely worth a visit..."
"I guess you're right... Of all the islands we read, this one seemed to me the most miraculous..."
"We should spend a few days there... Maybe even about a week to see as many sights as possible..."
"Then we'll begin our journey..."
"Our friends will definitely be interested in the idea of another adventure."
Soon pals gathered in the kitchen and, after lunch, discussed their joint plans.
"By the way, about tomorrow-" Bendy began. "Lara and I decided to visit one incredible, it's called the island of Bright and Mysterious Wonders and, judging by the name, we'll find a lot of miracles there..."
"Sounds good..." Boris answered, looking away. "Then today we should collect necessary items for the trip..."
"Also stuff for leisure," Bendy added. "For example, collections of sudoku, books..."
"Sketchbooks..." Lara smiled.
"Oh, and I'll take an embroidery kit..." Alice continued. "I'll sew there, just like at home..."
"This is all great, of course, but we'll need to explore the island..." Boris remarked.
"We will, don't worry," Bendy assured the mechanic. "And now - let's go pack up!..."
The magicians left the kitchen and went to their rooms. Boris folded some of his appliances, Alice put a sewing kit and several magazines.
"Only the supplies we'll need for the hike and some clothes have to be packed..." said Boris.
"And we're free..." the angel replied.
"Wow, Alice, how many magazines did you put in... Are you going to read them all on the island?..."
"If I have enough time... By the way, you also packed a lots of devices..."
"You're right, but I won't disassemble them as often as here... Pumpkin, we could read some of your magazines today..."
"Okay, I'd like to see an article about traveling on the islands..."
"But you've been reading it recently, dear..."
"I really like it..."
"Okay, whatever you say..."
Boris and Alice put some things in the rucksack and began to read. The magazine was really very entertaining and they carried away by reading, not noticing time passing by...
At this time, Bendy and Lara almost put everything together, talking about their views of the island.
"I think there'll be a lot of unusual plants and animals everywhere!..." Bendy began. "The landscape will fascinate with its impressive view, we'll walk along the crystal-clear coast, the palm trees and bushes..."
"And so it will take a long time..."
"Until evening comes, then we'll return to have dinner... It's going to be so great..."
"And so nice..."
"Good to know our opinions are quite similar, sweetie... I really hope you' like the island..."
"I think we all will..."
"You're right, dear, that's exactly how it will be... With you, I'm happy to go to any place, even to the end of the world... Starlight, if you want, we'll solve a couple of sudokus now..."
"I'll be happy..."
"Let's get started, tulip..."
Bendy took out the magazines, the magicians began to fill in the empty cells. The devils soon finished, Bendy cooked dinner, friends discussed tomorrow's adventure. After that, they returned to their rooms and engaged in calmer activities.
"Honey, don't you also think tomorrow will be a wonderful day?..." Boris asked Alice, who was looking into the distance.
"Of course I do..." Alice replied. "We're going to have a great time..."
"And so it will be... Anyway, I think it's time for us to go to bed... Sleep well, my angel..."
"Good night, my mechanic..."
Boris bent down and kissed Alice on the forehead. She smiled, as did he, hugging her. Then they went to bed and had marvelous, brilliant dreams...
Bendy and Lara, having finished sudoku, also decided to go to bed. Bendy put the magazines back in their place, sat down next to Lara, hugging her. The imp smiled, still looking down. Bendy looked at her tenderly, peering into her beautiful eyes...
"Lar, I think we'll spend a little more than a few days on the island to explore it better... But if suddenly is smaller than we expected, we'll go to another island!... And explore the landscapes of both..."
"I think it would be best... But if the island turns out to be big, it'll be enough for us..."
"You're right, berry, in any case, we'll have an unforgettable trip... You probably want to sleep now..."
"So do you, I suppose..."
"Yes, but if you wish, I'll be happy to talk with you some more... Although, tomorrow we need to get up early..."
"I think it's better to go to bed now..."
"Sweet dreams, my little demon..."
"Good night, my big demon... Tomorrow will be so exciting..."
"The adventure on the island will certainly delight us... Love you very much, Lora..."
The next morning, friends woke up quite early. After breakfast, they talked for a while and returned to their rooms. Bendy took the rucksack, he and Lara went out into the corridor. Soon Boris and Alice came out with their backpack. The friends went outside and watched the outstanding landscape in the garden for a while.
"What a wonderful day!... " Bendy noticed and smiled. "However, it's time for us to go to the island."
The others agreed, the musician snapped his fingers - magicians teleported immediately to the right place.
The island struck and pleasantly surprised guys: palm trees were absolutely everywhere, flowers of various colors and sizes surrounded them, the shore was crystal clear, soft yellow sand shimmered brightly under the rays of the sun, huge clouds floated across the light blue sky, the voices of birds flying nearby could be heard clearly. Pals came a little closer to the shore and stopped.
"Wow, what an impressive landscape!... Bendy exclaimed." As you can see, the island has a lot of miracles... "
" Marvelous place..." Lara said. "I can't wait to explore everything..."
"Then we shouldn't waste our time..." Alice smiled.
"Firstly, we need to unpack our stuff..." Boris notices. "Where is our house?..."
"A little further away, let's walk straight and find..." Bendy replied.
Friends soon saw the house. It was made of light fine wood. Going inside, the friends thought the house seemed smaller from the outside. Bendy and Lara entered their room and began unpacking things from their rucksack. Meanwhile, Boris and Alice went to their room and did the same. When pals finished, they had for lunch.
"Now we can go explore the island..." Bendy said. "I think we'll see many splendid sceneries here..."
"No doubt about it..." Boris replied. "This island is called magical for a reason..."
"Of course, most likely, remarkable things are hidden here, maybe even treasures..."
"I don't think so, but we'll definitely see something peculiar..."
Friends left the house and walked around the island for a while, admiring the landscape.
However, soon friends found wonders...
"What great stones, each of them has a special symbol!..." Bendy said with surprise. "Looks like runes..."
"But what do they mean?..." asked Lara.
"One moment... Here, on a large stone it's written: "Health", on a stone that's near - "Wealth", and on those four stones - "Love, friendship - the values of life"...
"Someone laid out the stones on purpose..." Boris answered. "Interesting..."
"And informative..." Alice added.
"Maybe runes are are drawn not only on the stones..." Lara smiled.
"Speaking of extraordinary things - look, the clock is hanging on the leaves of palm trees!..." Bendy exclaimed.
"Wow... Very strange..." Boris said. "Do their mechanisms need to be repaired?..."
"Most likely, these watches work steadily, they don't even have bolts which can be unscrewed in order to see the mechanism..." Bendy replied. "What an excellent place..."
"And so cozy..." Lara remarked. "I want to stay near the palm trees for a while..."
"We'll be here as long as you want, dear... The island is worth the a walk..."
"But then we will visit less places..." Boris retorted.
"We still have a lot of time to view other amazing sights..." Alice replied.
"You're right, tomorrow we'll see the rest..."
The magicians took a walk near the golden clock and after a while came out on a golden path dotted with flowers. The flowers grew quite large and bright, with interesting shades and shapes. Bendy gave Lara a bouquet of wonderful flowers, soon Boris also collected flowers for Alice.
Guys admired the landscape around and soon saw numreous miracles: some palm trees had a colored trunk, it seemed as if it was glowing; also on one tree hung a memo written in some ancient language. Bendy knew what language it was, translated everything that was written to his friends. The note described the meaning of love and friendship, their importance. There were other wonders on the island that friends managed to see. Soon darkness fell - the guys went back.
Friends entered the house, and after having dinner, returned to their rooms, doing their usual things.
It was late evening. The edge of the moon became visible from the window, and everyone went to bed... Each of the friends had fantastic, exciting dreams inspired by the impressions of the miraculous, incredible island...
The next morning Bendy woke up quite early, smiling, watching Lara sleep. Soon she woke up, and he said, "Good morning, Lora!... Did you have a nice rest, my dream girl?..."
"Sure... And you?..."
"Same... Now I'll cook us breakfast..."
The devils enjoyed their meals and left the house.
"Strawberry, which way are we going today?... We can explore the opposite shore of the island..."
"I just wanted to see the other side..."
"We'll certainly find even more miracles..."
Bendy and Lara went on and later saw a path lined with colorful cobblestones. Nearby there were stones covered with moss, shimmering in the rays of the sun. Bright red flowers and emerald palms grew all around.
"Wow, how spectacular it is here!..." Bendy exclaimed. "A truly magical landscape..."
"And very interesting ..." said Lara. - I'd like to know what awaits us at the end of the path..."
"We'll find out, sweetheart... Can you see the end of the path?...
"Yes, I can..."
"We are almost there..."
The devils saw a golden chest covered with gems. The magicians looked at the chest with admiration, and Bendy opened it. The chest contained gold jewelry, sapphires, diamonds, emeralds, gold figurines.
"So there are treasures on the island..." said Bendy. "And, most interestingly, there's no lock on the chest - so no one needed to hide its contents..."
"Really unusual..." Lara thought. "Treasures are just lying here, apparently untouched..."
"We need to show the chest to our friends!... I think they'll also be impressed..."
The imps came back and entered the house. They noticed Boris and Alice approaching the kitchen, talking. The friends met, and Bendy told them about what he and Lara had found, much to the surprise of fellows.
Soon after meal time, guys were walking along the path and saw the chest.
"Wow, brilliant..." said Boris and opened it. "So many jewels inside... How did you find the key?..."
"We weren't," Bendy replied and smiled. "The chest wasn't locked..."
"Hmm, strange..."
"And wonderful at the same time..." Alice added. "I have never seen so many precious stones..."
"Neither have I..." Lara smiled.
"There are sapphires, rubies, emeralds, and diamonds..." Bendy listed. "Also amethysts, topazes, chrysolites..."
"And also many wonderful figures made of gold..." Boris remarked. "So, what are we going to do with these treasures?..."
"We'll leave them here..." Bendy replied. "I think they belong on the island... After all, the most valuable treasure is love and friendship!..."
"And the most necessary... " Lara said.
"It's prabably better if we don't take the gems," Alice looked at the jewels.
"You're right," Boris said. "Well, it was very interesting to look at the chest with real treasures... Where do we go next?..."
"Let's go right behind the path," Bendy replied.
Friends discovered large gray stones on which there were figures of frogs, near there were plants resembling clover. The guys looked at the place with interest, soon they noticed a small mine with a large waterfall. Exotic flowers grew on the stones near. The wizards saw other wonders: beautiful birds with an unusual bright color; butterflies whose wings struck with their size and color; leaves in the form of keys on some bushes; palm trees with foliage of dark blue and purple flowers.
Evening came, and friends came back. They decided to have dinner near the peaceful seashore, and Bendy prepared the meals, put the dishes on a small beach table. Everyone sat down, sharing their impressions after such adventure.
"This island holds countless amazing surprises and marvelous wonders..." Bendy said dreamily. "Wonder if we see the rest of the island..."
"Perhaps we should have a rest?..." Boris asked. "I'm rather tired from walking..."
"Well, we can take a break tomorrow," Bendy repled. "We still have a lot of time to explore the place..."
"Tomorrow we'll be relaxing on the beach..." Lara said. "Although, this trip didn't seem tedious to me at all, on the contrary, it's delightful..."
"A little rest won't hurt..." Alice noticed.
"Can't wait to draw here... Or solve sudoku..." Lara said.
"We can also read interesting travel stories or look through magazines about delightful plants..." Bendy added.
"See you tomorrow..." Boris smiled.
"Good night..."
Friends returned to their rooms and prepared for bed. The bright yellow moon came out from behind the clouds, coolness enveloped the island.

6. you look really cute in that sweater. ← made me feel things
Fluff prompt 6 : "You look really cute in that sweater."
• Knitted Heartstrings •
[ Kakashi x Reader] // 2.5k words
A/n : this title is meant to be cute but i think it just sounds grotesque
It had been a few weeks since winter had arrived at Konoha, bringing with itself a carriage full of moments, gift wrapped with warmth and joy to sprinkle all around. It brought cosy nights to be spent laughing by the fireplace with a loved one, in an icicled platter and first love blossoming in the first fall of snowflakes in a tiny snow globe.
Wherever the eye went, there were sheets and sheets of cotton white snow, shimmering in the sunlight like broken pieces of diamond. The small village looked ethereal.
For you, winter had always been special. There was something about the smell of snow that imbued your heart with hope, like any time now something magical would happen. Many scorned at the childish illusions that you knit inside your mind, dismissing it as a result of one too many Hallmark movies, but for you… the only melody that mattered was the one of your heart. And it said,
it was winter, and everything was magical.
You looked outside your window at the bustle of villagers on the street, wrapped up in cosy sweaters and colourful scarves. It was the first day of the Annual Winter Carnival, and even though it was barely 10 a.m., there was already a long line in front of the hot chocolate stand. Beyond the eager queue, you could see a line of small shops, each adorned with something different: winter clothing, holiday cards, Christmas decorations, plum cakes and pumpkin pies, you name it.
You adjusted your red scarf around your neck, putting on a pair of mittens as you smiled to yourself. It was a beautiful day outside and the festive spirit all around made the sun shine just a little brighter for you. Picking up your keys and wallet from the table, you headed for the door, crossing your nearly decorated Christmas tree on the way. The tall green tree was already bedecked in shining ornaments, colourful streamers and twinkling lights. The only thing it was missing was a tree topper and you made a mental note to pick one up from one of the ornament stalls that were sited around the town square.
You made your way towards the gleeful crowd far ahead, your boots drawing patterns along the soft snow as you went. The sapphire sky seemed to beam down upon your town, every storefront greeting the eyes with beautiful wreaths woven by flower shop workers and window displays of snowmen built by Academy children with styrofoam.
You spotted Gai in the distance, huddled up with Lee and Tenten, all of them holding what looked like mugs of cocoa in their hands. Despite the biting cold, Gai and Lee had on their usual green outfits, you noticed. All three of them waved as they saw you approaching and you waved back at one shivering and two fully unbothered figures.
As you looked around you could spot most of the Leaf shinobi. Some had even arrived from neighbouring villages as they always did at this time of year. Your eyes fell on Sakura and Ino laughing as they tried on funny hats at one of the garment stalls, and Kiba teaching Akamaru how to make a snow angel on the ground. Pretty much everyone was here, laughing, talking, enjoying themselves. Everyone other than…
Anyway.
Such sights of blithe happiness were scarce in the kind of world you lived in. Amidst missions, deaths and tragedies, you always had a black cloud looming over you at all times, following you everywhere you went. It came with the job, there was no way to escape it. But even then, at times like these, it almost felt as if you were a part of the normal world. As if the grains of food on your plate didn’t depend on taking lives.
Taking in the beautiful sights of early winter and humming to yourself as you continued scouring the surroundings, you stopped in front of one of the clothing stalls. It was a small one manned by a middle-aged woman but despite the smallness of the store, the collection of knitted sweaters it displayed caught your eye immediately.
There was one hanging at the back that had piqued your interest the most. It was a cream coloured piece with the image of a pug in a Christmas cap embroidered on it and the word “woof” sewn just above it. It was love at first sight and the knitted sweater was just hanging there, begging for you to come get it.
Stepping in to get a closer look, you requested the woman to get it down for you. You waited as she handed you the object of your admiration and as expected, the soft material melted into your hands. You ran your fingers along the embroidery, admiring the stitchwork and already imagining how perfect it’d be for a cold night in in your pajamas with a nice book and a box of cookies.
You asked if you could try it on, and as the woman nodded in permission, you put the sweater over your head, hastily slipping into it. But in your hurry, you had somehow mixed up the neck and the sleeves, causing you to find yourself in a tangled mess with your head inside the sweater and your eyesight fully obstructed.
You struggled to untwine yourself, squirming and wiggling as you tried to differentiate the damn neck from the arm holes. You knew you looked like an absolute klutz, you even heard some giggles from a passing group of children that you were pretty sure was directed at you, but you were almost getting out of breath and your hair was starting to stick into your mouth, so you decided to put your focus on getting yourself out first and your dignity afterwards. You heard the woman’s voice beside you offering to help and you were just about to take her up on it when you finally managed to slip through, panting as you caught your breath.
You smoothened out the sweater with your hands, before reaching up to sweep away several strands of your now tousled hair, when suddenly your eyes fell upon the tall figure in front of you, leaning against the stall with a book in his hand.
The sudden sight gave you a scare that almost made you jump as you let out a surprised squeak.
“Kakashi!?”
Your widened eyes fixed on his face, meeting his placid gaze as you watched Kakashi’s mouth stretch into a smirk.
“15 seconds.” he stated in a flat yet chaffing tone.
You furrowed your brows at him, voicing your confusion. “Huh?”
“You got out of that 15 seconds faster that I’d expected you to”, he replied, as you felt your cheeks getting warm with embarrassment.
Not only had he been here watching you make a complete fool of yourself, he had also been revelling in it.
That dingus.
But you weren’t about to give him the satisfaction of seeing you flustered, so you settled to play defensive instead.
“And in all your seconds of standing there and watching, did you at any point consider offering to help?” you said, sparing him a narrowed glance.
“Nope” Kakashi replied instantly, the smirk intact on his lips as you rolled your eyes, feeling your own irrepressible smile get the better of you.
Meanwhile, the shop lady pulled a mirror out from the back and placed it before you. You situated yourself in front of it, stepping back to take a look at yourself. You could feel Kakashi still standing there, his eyes on you, peering at you over his book and your stomach churned and flipped inside your body.
This was…new.
Kakashi and you went way back… but minus the friendly greetings and conversations at certain social gatherings, there hadn’t been much interaction between the two of you. Mostly because both of you usually preferred to keep to yourselves. All that, however, changed after you were sent on a recent tailing mission together.
The mission was primarily supposed to last a week, but due to certain complications, you ended up having to be away for over a month. You were both asked to lead the team, and working so close together required many nights to be spent discussing strategies and team formations. You spent more nights in each other’s company, drawing maps and going over plans than you spent sleeping; just the two of you under the wide black sky, awake in the silence of the night with nothing but the whisper of crickets to interrupt you. And in some of these times, your conversations slipped beyond strategic discussions, delving deeper into the kind of territories that required the dark of the night to be revealed.
It wasn’t something you’d ever seen coming, talking to the copy ninja, really talking, but it had happened nonetheless. And when it had, it felt like the most natural thing the world. Like dipping your toes into the pool on a hot summer day.
Even though neither of you had fully bared your souls to each other yet, he was quite easy to talk to and you had come to realise that you had more in common that you would ever have guessed. And that beneath his serene exterior, Kakashi hid a tide of emotions.
Of course, it wasn’t all hefty talk. You had a good laugh the time he told you how the scar on his right arm, which people assume to be the result of a valiant battle is not from a battle at all but a rather embarrassing kitchen mishap. And this other time you had a heated debate about how miso ramen is definitely NOT better than shoyu ramen. The debate ended up in a draw but sitting with him in the glowing twilight, talking about nothing and everything… it made you feel some kind of way.
And then of course, there was that one night. One moment which had stuck out to you the most, amidst all others.
It was just another tiresome day, and you had taken refuge in the woods for the night. Almost everyone in your team had suffered mild injuries, including yourself. You had gone up to Kakashi to ask for a bandage for your sprained wrist since your own med kit was devoid of one and then…instead of simply handing over the bandage to you, Kakashi had taken your hand in his and wordlessly wrapped it around your palm. And for some reason, something about that one moment had stirred something inside you. Kakashi hadn’t made a big show of it, no, it didn’t even feel anything out of the ordinary. But the way he had gently held your wrist in one hand as he carefully bandaged it with the other had made you short of breath. No one had ever shown such gentleness towards you before, not in that way.
And even though nothing had really happened between the two of you yet, ever since that mission things didn’t remain quite the same anymore. The silences became thicker, the glances lingering. Chance encounters became deliberate and every conversation turned to memorabilia. There seemed to be this unspoken attraction, a spark that lit up like firecrackers every time you came in each other’s vicinity.
So yes, all of this was rather new and you weren’t quite sure how to deal with it yet.
Keeping your mind from reminiscing any further and pulling it away from your churning stomach, you glanced at your reflection in front you. The sweater did fit you perfectly but disappointingly enough, it didn’t look quite as good as you’d hoped it would, and suddenly you weren’t so sure of your choice anymore.
Kakashi’s eyes were still on you, registering your frown, and it was as if you could feel his gaze tear through your bones, pulling away all your layers. It was unnerving and you cleared your throat, breaking the silence.
“So, what are you doing here, anyway?” you called out, your eyes still fixated on your reflection as you turned to catch glances of yourself from various angles. “Didn’t take you for much of a carnival kinda guy.”
You saw him smile out of the corner of your eye as he straightened up, coming around lazily to stand behind you.
“I’m full of surprises”, Kakashi shrugged, enunciating every word as his figure towered over yours, the warmth of his body almost tangible to you.
His sudden closeness to you made your breath catch at the back of your throat and you struggled to maintain your composure, staring straight ahead at your reflection to keep your gaze from meeting his, which you knew would be just enough to send your heart hammering.
The moments seemed to freeze as the both of you remained standing, both pairs of eyes fixated on the mirror as air around you started to take a life of its own. You thought you would almost lose your mind when Kakashi’s words finally broke the rippling silence.
“You look really cute in that sweater.”
His words, so arbitrary yet soft hung in the air between you as you felt your heart grow vicious in your chest. You could feel it thrashing inside you, pounding so hard you were scared even Kakashi would be able to hear it. You knew your cheeks were about the same colour as a ripe cherry and you felt your mouth twitching with words that you couldn’t form.
You looked up slowly into the mirror and found the reflection of Kakashi’s eyes, waiting to meet yours. Even through the glass, his gaze burnt with an emotion that almost frightened you.
“You uh- you think so?” you heard yourself stutter, that sweater in the mirror suddenly looking like the most beautiful thing you’ve ever worn. You turned around a few more times, running your hand along the soft fabric again. “well uh I guess it’s not…bad” you said, your voice coming out more nervous than you would’ve liked it to.
Kakashi grinned, moving from behind you and starting to walk away as you pulled the sweater up, getting ready to take it back off. Thankfully for you, it came off this time without requiring any excessive wiggling.
You watched Kakashi’s slightly hunched figure walk away in the other direction, before stopping to turn back around at you.
“So, are you going to take that?” he called, a tease to his tone as he stood holding his book in one hand, the other warm inside his pocket.
“Maybe. I’m still deciding” you called back in the same tone as you watched him smirk, before being faced with his back again as he turned away slowly, walking ahead with his book open in front of him.
You watched him go, wondering if he would turn around again, but he didn’t and his striking silver hair disappeared from view as he became one with the crowd. You turned to the lady in front of you, the sweater hung over your arm as you struggled to hold the grin that threatened to erupt any time now. For some reason, the sweater in your hands didn’t feel like a piece of cloth anymore but something that had your heartstrings sewn amidst its threads.
You folded the soft fabric carefully, making it into a neat ball before holding it out to the lady with both hands, grinning at her.
“How much will this be?”

Crafts masterpost
This post is my gift to you all to thank you for doing your part in staying home and easing the current public health crisis. I encourage you to continue doing so, and while you are at home indoors, to keep your hands busy with making things. So I have here, under the cut, a full list of every craft of mine that I’ve featured on my blog. Each post features either full-length tutorial, or a description of how I made it, or pictures at the very least to help inspire.
And since I also appreciate those of you who are fans of the stories or the history but don’t own any dolls, many of these don’t necessarily have to be made for a doll. Crafts like dyeing yarn with onion skins, or cross stitch, or loom weaving, are skills that can be used to make human-sized projects as well. I have marked all of these types of tutorials with two asterisks ** at the end of the line. For those of you that like kitchen crafts, I have also included recipes in the list; those are marked with a ^^ at the end of the line.
I will continue to update it as I make more craft-oriented posts. I will also add it to the header of my blog for easy access. Sections are organized by character name, with sections at the end for modern dolls or for any dolls.

SPOOKY SCARY SANDERS SIDES 6
@sanderssidesspook
PROMPT: day 6: decorating for fall
SUMMARY: patton attempts to make a leaf garland, with the help of his boyfriends.
WORD COUNT: ~517
TW: none that i can think of!
read it on ao3!!!
Patton reaches into the wicker sewing basket and pulls out his pincushion, a plump little tomato with a smiley face stitched on it. “What color thread should I use for the leaf garland?” he asks.
“Well, what color are the leaves?” Virgil counters. He’s carrying a truly staggering armful of miniature gourds and pumpkins, which he spills onto the couch. Roman follows him, lugging two plastic shopping bags stuffed to the brim.
“There’s all kinds of colors!” Patton says, examining the pile of fake leaves in front of him. “There’s red leaves, orange leaves, yellow leaves, and leaves that are a mix of colors! I don’t wanna use plain black thread to make the garland, that’s boring!”
“Well, do you have any brown thread?”
Patton rummages around in his sewing kit and produces two different colors of brown thread. “Which one do you think fits the leaves better?”
Roman may be the creative one, but Virgil has a much more discerning eye. He picks up both spools, squinting at them and tilting them to watch the way the light hits them. One is a light, golden brown, like butterscotch or caramel, close to the golden-brown color of Patton’s or Roman’s eyes. The other is darker, richer, like freshly-brewed espresso, like dark chocolate, like Virgil’s or Logan’s eyes.
“I think this one,” Virgil says, handing the darker brown thread to Patton. “It’ll contrast the brighter colors of the leaves, yeah?”
“I wouldn’t even think of that!” Patton says. “Thanks, Virgil, you’re the best!”
He happily pulls Virgil down for a brief thank-you kiss before he and Roman start arranging the miniature gourds and pumpkins in the decorative baskets. Patton begins threading the needle – or trying to. He sits there for almost three minutes trying to poke the slender brown embroidery thread through the tiny little needle eye, and after what feels like the fifty-seventh try, he feels a gentle hand on his shoulder.
“May I offer some assistance, dear?”
Patton tips his head back to see Logan leaning down over him. “Logan!” he chirps. “I’m just a little stuck on these leaves, can you help me?”
Logan sits down on the couch next to Patton, setting his knitting bag down and taking the needle and thread from Patton. In less than two tries, he manages to thread the needle, pulling a nice long tail through to keep it from slipping. “There you are, love.”
Patton kisses him, too, and Logan’s cheeks are pink as he pulls his knitting needles out and goes back to work on his scarf.
Later, when the garland is fully strung, Logan and Roman will string it around the living room while Patton and Virgil turn on the little battery-powered tea-light candles in the baskets. Later, they’ll all snuggle together underneath their massive knit blanket, the very first thing that Logan ever knit, and they’ll fall asleep together. But for now, they are creating together, and Patton looks up to see Roman stealing kisses from Virgil and winking at a flustered Logan, and he’s in love with all three of them all over again.

Stuff you can do for Halloween solo fun (or in small groups that have been isolating with you)-
Carve pumpkins. If you’ve ever wanted to just go all-out, do it this year. Buy a few pumpkins (only if you can afford it), and carve some of your favorite faces. You can also get a kit with stencils for shapes, or make your own; draw a picture on some paper in pencil. Then, take a non-washable marker to go over the lines you want to use. Fill-in the parts of the shapes with color that are going to be open spaces. Place the paper on the pumpkin with some tape to hold it in place. Next, take a toothpick or needle (be CAREFUL), and make dotted lines that follow your shapes. Now remove the paper, and cut along the dotted lines
Movie marathon. You can do movies that specifically center on Halloween, or just spooky/horror movies in general. You’ll probably want to see your favorites, but it is also a good time to find ones you haven’t seen before. Check out some of the old-school classics, and ones that are more recent. You can even do a “bad movie” marathon, ones that you know aren’t good, but you might still get a kick out of them.
Read some spooky books. This can also go with the movie marathon, since many movies are based on books. If you have only seen or read one, now is the chance to experience the other (”Coraline” and “Carrie” are both good spooky movies, and they are both based on books. if you’ve only seen the films, check out the books and see if you like it as well). If you have a hard time getting through huge novels, there is nothing wrong with reading YA or even kids books, there some perfectly good and creepy stories that are also short enough to process in a couple of days
Decorate. Inside or outside, go ahead and have fun. Decorate, and then maybe re-decorate through the month if you want. If you have the time and money, get some Halloween props you’ve always wanted but never used before, like a giant spider or bunch of fake skeletons
Arts and Crafts. Make your own witch broom, create a paper cut-out Halloween scene, paint stones and collect crystals, make an autumn leaf scrapbook, learn Halloween sitching/sewing/embroidery patterns, use some beads and make Halloween necklaces, make an autumn wreath for your door, make slime, build a scarecrow, make your own pumpkin pinyata that you can paint and then bust open to get some candy, if you can find a large feather you can make your own quill (cut the tip at an angle, then sute a small slit on the edge of the tip. you can use real ink if you have an inkwell, or just watercolor paint) and make your own “spell book”
Activity books. If you can get your hands on one, Halloween and autumn themed activity books can be very fun, with different word games, mazes, and more
Art challenges. If you like to draw or write, or do anything creative, look up Halloween art prompts. Don’t feel bad if you can’t do one every single day, just do whatever you find interesting and make something you like
Food. There are all kinds of fall and Halloween recipes, so if you like to cook, have fun making pies/cookies/soups/and so much more. You might be able to trick-or-treat, but you can still make treats for yourself, and delicious meals as well. You can also just have some classic s’mores (if you can’t do a whole campfire, you can use an un-scented plain candle. be VERY CAREFUL with the flame, put the candle on a plate, and use a small wooden shish kabob stick if you can’t whittle a little tree branch for your marshmallow)
Scented candles. Again, be VERY CAREFUL. Things like candles and incense smell very good, which can be relaxing, and certain scents remind us of Halloween. If you find some you like, enjoy the good smells. You can also find special soaps with scents you like (and, if you are sure you aren’t allergic to the soap, you can put a bar into your clothes drawer or where you keep your blankets. the soap will make everything in there have that particular scent)
Dress up. You don’t need to go anywhere. Just have fun with your own personal Halloween fashion show. If you have the money and the time, get your costume supplies together, and transform yourself. If you like to post pictures of yourself, you can share the results, but you can also just do it privately for yourself. Be a monster, or somebody from a fairytale, or your favorite character from a TV show, whatever you want. If doing it yourself isn’t your thing, look up people who create amazing costumes and cosplays, or videos that show techniques used to create monsters in movies, admire the talent and effort
Listen to music. There are lots of songs that remind us of Halloween. You can just sit back, relax, listen to some good tunes, and let your imagination create a show for you in your head
Creepy games. If you can get your hands on some, you can play some horro games, or even ones that are just a little bit spooky. If you don’t play much yourself, find video game play-throughs online of some creepy games. If you find a person who makes you laugh, watching them play a scary game is especially enjoyable and entertaining
Take a walk. If you knnow your area and it is safe, take a walk on Halloween evening. You can still avoid getting too close to people and being in large groups. Enjoy the scenery, whether it is in nature or in the city. If possible, take a walk through your town’s cemetery (try to do it Before Halloween, as it is more likely to have people there that night)
she knows what she’s talking about 🎃🍂
