The soft hum of keyboards and the low murmur of my coworkers filled the office, blending into the usual white noise of Danforth Enterprises. I sat at my desk, pretending to focus on the mountain of emails that flooded my inbox. But my thoughts were elsewhere, as they often were.
Derek Danforth, the CEO, my boss—and my secret boyfriend—was always on my mind. It had been thrilling and terrifying, juggling the two worlds: the professional one where I was just another employee, and the personal one where we stole moments in shadows, away from prying eyes. It felt dangerous, but the thrill kept pulling me back in.
Today, however, felt different. There was an edge to the air, like something unexpected was about to happen.
I glanced around, making sure no one was paying too much attention. My coworker, Sarah, was at the desk next to mine, headphones in and focused on her work. I breathed a little easier, grateful for the distraction.
Just as I returned to my screen, I felt it. A slight movement under my desk. I froze, my heart racing as I looked down, not expecting what I saw—or rather, who I saw.
Derek. Crawling under my desk, his lips curved into that mischievous smile I knew all too well.
"What are you doing?" I whispered harshly, my eyes darting to Sarah, who remained blissfully unaware.
Derek’s finger pressed to his lips, signaling me to stay quiet. My pulse quickened. This was insane. Absolutely insane. But the excitement surged through me anyway.
His hands gently pushed my knees apart, and I bit my lip, fighting the urge to react too obviously. My eyes flicked back to my computer, trying to focus on the words blurring on the screen, but it was impossible. His touch, light and teasing, made it hard to concentrate on anything else.
"Stop," I mouthed, but there was no force behind it. I could barely hold back the shaky breath as his fingers trailed higher.
Sarah’s chair creaked next to me. I tensed, praying she wouldn’t glance over. If she saw anything suspicious, it would all be over—the relationship, my job, everything. But Derek knew that. He always thrived in pushing the limits.
His touch was relentless, teasing me to the point where I had to clench the edge of my desk to stay grounded. My heart pounded so loudly, I was sure it would give me away. I forced a smile when Sarah stretched, turning slightly toward me. For a brief second, I thought she'd noticed something—but she just asked me something about the upcoming meeting.
I couldn’t hear a word she said.
"Yeah, totally," I replied, my voice tight, praying she wouldn't ask any follow-up questions.
When she turned back to her screen, I exhaled quietly. But that relief was short-lived as Derek’s lips pressed to the inside of my thigh, sending a shockwave through me. My body responded involuntarily, my legs trembling as I gripped the desk even harder. Every inch of me screamed to react, to lean into the sensation, but I couldn’t. I had to stay in control.
The minutes stretched endlessly. Each soft brush of his lips and gentle caress of his fingers sent sparks through my body, but I fought to remain composed. It felt like I was playing a game of survival, the stakes growing higher with every passing second. The constant threat of being caught only intensified everything.
When Derek finally eased away, slipping out from under the desk as stealthily as he had entered, I released a shaky breath. He stood up, fixing his tie, his smirk visible as he casually walked out of the office, as if nothing had happened.
I sat there, my body still buzzing, cheeks flushed, and tried to compose myself. My eyes locked on the email in front of me, pretending to focus on work while my mind raced. How long could we keep this up? How long before someone noticed the subtle glances, the way Derek’s eyes lingered on me just a little too long?
I glanced at the clock, feeling the minutes drag. The day wasn’t over, but I already knew tonight’s conversation with Derek would be... interesting.
Later that evening, I walked into Derek’s office, my nerves a mix of excitement and frustration. As soon as the door closed behind me, he was on me—his hands on my waist, pulling me close.
"You’re insane," I said, though my tone was more playful than angry.
His lips brushed my ear. "You love it."
I couldn’t deny it.

Trial by Fire (part 81)
A Nightcrawler/Fem!OC romance, drama, and mystery fanfic, with lots of Quicksilver thrown in for fun and even more drama.
Intro (with link to full Ao3 story) First Previous
It had been six days with no progress. Every time Kurt turned off the collar Bedelia would be consumed in flames within a few seconds. Luckily, the X-men had provided her with a truly flameproof suit. It was still frustrating. Bedelia knew she should be able to control this. As much as she didn’t want them they were her powers. She knew that they could be contained, turned on and off at will, if she could do it under Sinister she could do it now.
But it was impossible it seemed.
“I’m done,” Bedelia announced slumping to the ground.
“We have only tried three times today, Kobold,” Kurt told her. “You last twenty seconds that time. You are getting better.”
“Twenty seconds,” Bedelia snapped back. “What good is twenty seconds?! Open the doors I’m done.”
Kurt did as she asked and teleported down behind her. “Bedelia…” He reached out for her but she pulled her arm away and kept walking.
“Not now. I just need some time alone,” she told him without looking, continuing to walk away. She knew Kurt would have a hurt expression and she couldn’t bear to see it. Bedelia continued to walk. She did so without thinking of where she was going. Up the stairs, out the back door, through the gardens. Eventually, she ended up near a small pond on the edge of the trees, quite a distance from the manor and out of sight of the windows.
Alone.
Bedelia screamed. Releasing the frustration she felt. At being forced into this form, for her powers being so triggering for her, for everything that Sinister did. “Fucking bastard!”
It wasn’t often that Bedelia swore but there was something cathartic about calling Sinister every swear she knew.
“Language, language. There are children around.” A familiar voice cut through her angry breakdown.
“Pietro, I came out here to be alone.”
“I was doing a patrol and heard your voice. You have such a way with words but I’ve never heard such colorful language before.” He smirked teasingly and Bedelia forced herself to scowl.
“I was just releasing some emotion,” she told him turning back to stare out over the pond trying to ignore him.
There was a soft breeze and Pietro was standing behind her. “Sounded like it…the elf getting on your nerves?”
“Kurt? No. I just…I’m frustrated with myself. I keep trying to control the flames but I barely last twenty seconds. I just think about seeing the fire, of how I was forced to hurt people, and…”
Pietro placed a hand on her shoulder. “You’ll get it. We always do. These powers are just an extension of yourself.”
“But it is so difficult for me to think of them like that. These were imposed on me. It isn’t like I developed them during puberty like everyone else. I am - was - human that was my identity. A human who wrote about mutant issues.”
The speedster removed his hand from Bedelia’s shoulder, moving to her side instead to catch her eye. It failed as she was too focused on staring out at the pond before her. “Do you think it would have been different if your powers had manifested during puberty?”
“Of course it would be. I wouldn’t have been tortured. I wouldn’t have experimented on! I--” Bedelia’s voice caught in her throat. Still, she tried to press on. “I w-wouldn’t have h-hurt th-those people.”
A few tears leaked from her eyes. There was a breeze and suddenly Pietro was offering her a box of tissues. “I don’t think you want lobster and mac’n’cheese an hour after breakfast,” he told her as she glanced at him. A touch of red entered his cheeks.
Without consent, a watery smile came to her face. Bedelia took a tissue and wiped the tears away. “You know after my parents died the people at the hospital kept an eye on me to see if I would develop powers. It was right around when mutants became widely known after all…I remember there was a time I hoped I would. That I would get something out of the loss of my family. I wanted powers as some desperate idea that it would make up for losing my parents…” She couldn’t help but give a sobbing laugh at the thought.
 Pietro felt a conflicted frown come to his lips. If only she had awoken her powers as a teenager. If only she were a mutant. How many times had he had the latter thought? Yet, if he thought about it, if she had gained these powers when she was young the X-men would have certainly recruited her. Dead parents, trauma, and hard-to-control powers, it was right up their alley. If Bedelia had gotten these powers when she was a teen they’d be enemies. But now, now he had a chance to win her to his side.
“I’m glad you didn’t get these powers then,” he confessed quietly. Bedelia finally looked at him, confusion in her watery eyes. Pietro ran a hand through his hair, slicking it back further as he often did when he was unsure of what to say. “I mean, if you had, no one would have written those articles about Genosha. We just could have gone in and freed the mutants, but you convinced the world that the Brotherhood was in the right.”
“I think you are overestimating my influence,” Bedelia replied but her tears were drying thanks to the distraction his words provided. “I merely reported the truth, anyone could have done it.”
“Yes, but only you did. You were the only journalist ballsy enough to sneak into the place. Even without powers, you were spectacular.”
Another short half-laugh left Bedelia’s lips. “That is literally the nicest thing you’ve ever said to me.”
Pietro smiled a warm feeling inside of him at the thought that he was making her feel better. “Yeah, well, I always thought it. I just -- well, you know, with things how they were, I couldn’t really tell you that.”
Bedelia smiled softly yet in her eyes grew warriness at the thought of how things were. “I suppose. And what about now? How are things now?”
“I don’t know,” Pietro admitted, “We discovered more Essex bases. Magneto wants to take care of those and it seems the X-men will be joining us. But after that…well, I am sure Magneto has plans.”
“I’m sure he does. Though at the moment I only care if they involve forcing me to continue writing about the Brotherhood.”
“What about your contract? Three years with your exclusive source. Only a few months have passed.”
Rubbing her face Bedelia groaned internally. How had it only been a few months? It felt like a lifetime had passed since the Brotherhood had “rescued” her from Genosha. “I will write articles with the information you give me. But I will not be coerced into writing whatever the Brotherhood - Magneto - desires. If Magneto still feels he cannot trust me then I will find another source of information. I do have contact with the X-men now after all.”
“Hey, hey, no need to go that far. I’m sure he’ll see sense. You’re a mutant now after all. One of us.”
And now they had circled back to why she was out here in the first place. “I suppose all of this is assuming I can learn to control my powers so I can walk around freely.”
“I know you can,” Pietro told her confidently with a grin. “You’re just overthinking it and panicking. Well, I have to get back to my patrol…here, three minutes by the way.”
Pietro pushed something into her hand and took off. Bedelia looked down and saw it was a power-dampening collar much like the one she was wearing. Bedelia blinked slowly then reached up, touching her neck where the collar should be. There was only bare skin.

“Welcome Home Omega”
Pairing: Alpha Bakugou x Alpha Kirishima x Omega Reader
Type: ABO Dynamic, SFW
Word Count: 2700+
A/N: I’m new to all this, but I dreamt about this the other night and really wanted to share this with everyone. I have a tone more to write, so please follow along and any feedback would be hugely appreciated. Thank you so much.
Summary: Omega y/n returns home to her pack after so many years aboard being a successful hero, now they fear begin rejecting by her pack and more importantly her alpha’s.
 *****************************************
“Everyone please welcome to the stage, the one you’ve all be waiting for, Pro-Hero Shadow…” a loud voice spoke into the microphone as I waited backstage. Once my name was called, I left the spoke I was hiding in and joined them. The crowd was screaming and shouting, holding banners of my name and posters with my face. This was something I didn’t expect to happen when I returned home to Japan from my many years abroad. I smiled towards the women on stage, already determining her as a beta.
“Welcome Shadow, to your first ever hero-con” She spoke to me looking in my direction. I brought my mic to my face,
“It’s so good to be here, look at all these people wow.” I smiled towards the crowd. The cheering began again.
“So shadow, how are you feeling being back in Japan and being high on the hero board, especially as an omega…” she continued on looking at me, this was something I was used to.
“It feels so good being back, I left Japan 6 years ago after I graduated with my friends/pack members from UA, which many of you know...” I waited for the screaming to stop before I continued. “I was faced with two choice really, be a omega hero that would only get 2 years in hero work before being forced to stop by the hero commission or I could leave my pack and go to America and have a really good hero career helping other omegas reach their potential and then come back home, I think you can guess what I chose” I said, and turned to the interviewer waiting for her reply.
Being an omega in Japan and America is very different from each other, especially in hero work. In Japan, you get an unspoken max of 2-year work and then often omegas go to desk jobs in hero agencies. In America, you can be a hero no matter your 2nd gender but the chance of being taken seriously as an omega is very slim and was something I worked hard at. During my time in America, I created an omega hero agency and left it all to the very capable hands of my sidekick, frostbite. It was my time to come home, I need my family back.
“So, tell me, does you pack know your back?” She asked with smile in her eyes.
“I mean, yes and no. Our pack is a big one and it was created when we were back in school. The time that I left, I had an agreement with the unmarked alphas that I would not contact them at all, but to know I was safe, I was only allowed contact with the omegas. So, they know” I replied, laughing slightly back.
“So, a lot of alphas in your pack, how does that work?” she pushed for an answer.
“I can’t really say, our pack dynamic is private, so I won’t tell you who or what position everyone is but, we have a main alpha who us our leader, they have a second and then we have one alpha that doesn’t really care and then one alpha who gave up their position years ago.” I replied smiling hoping she would not ask any more questions about the pack.
“That’s fine, tell me about your work as a hero omega and how difficult is” She asked again. This is something I could talk about openly. I took a deep breath and began to speak about the importance of separating your 2nd gender, from your workplace, and they it does not define you. Yes, you can still have a timid nature but do not let it halt your growth as a strong independent person. That if you want to be head of heart surgery you do it and tell those Alphas/ beats to shove it, its your time to shine. I continued until I felt the interviewer wanting to ask another question.
“Although I’m strong, I would not have gotten to where I am today without my pack, in public they treat me like a hero, not an omega. I mean it didn’t take long to do bu…” I went to say but was cut off.
“What do you mean, didn’t take long?” she interrupted. I hesitated for a bit, and then looked out into the crowd.
“Okay, I really should not be saying this, but he won’t mind. Okay so when our pack was created, I was never allowed to do anything, and it really annoyed me. So, when our first Alpha was being chosen, I kind of challenged Pro-Hero Dynamite…. And won.” I replied looking out into the crowd and everyone started cheering.
“Since then, I was treated like a person, not an omega. Well not in public, in private we still use the proper greetings.” I smiled and turned to the interviewer again.
“Wow, you are amazing. We all know your now number 5 on the hero board, can you remind everyone your quirk again.” She asked gesturing to my hands. I look down and noticed the black sut coating my fingers. I nodded and began to explain. I can create my own smoke from my body and ignite it. From this smoke I can create solid weapon and if I have enough smoke in the area, I can tell a person’s movements. I do have a drawback; the smoke uses up the oxygen from my blood and can make me pass out or it stains my skin with black smoke.
The interview continues and eventually is opened to fan questions, near the end of the questions. I notice the back wall starting to fill up with tall dark figures, already guessing that my pack got word I am here. Excitement rises through me, and I find it hard to sit still.
“Well, I think the cats out of the bag your home, Shadow” the interviewers says to me gesturing to the back wall. Light shines to the back wall, standing there when their arms crossed is Pro-heroes Dynamite, Red Riot, Deku and Chargebolt who is waving crazy towards me. I laugh to myself, locking eyes with Bakugou lowering my head slightly.
“I guess so” I reply, and the cheering slowly dies down.
 ************************************
While sitting at my signing booth, listening to some amazing stories from fans. I hear my name being called the curtain behind me. I have a break from the fans for a second and approach the curtain.
“Hello, little omega.” The voice says, as I instantly know its Bakugou. I smile to myself, wanting to rip the curtain away and wrap my arms around his neck.
“Hello Bakugou, don’t move the curtain, I can’t look at your right now” I say honestly.
“Okay, at least put your hand through the curtain, Kiri’s here to.” He replies nudging the curtain. I sigh, it’s been 6 years and I can barely hold myself together with he thought of being back with my family but being a hero right now is what I need to do.
“Okay, but only quickly I have to get back” I whisper, and slowly put my right-hand backwords them. Instantly I can feel like touching my hand and kissing it.
“Can’t smell you omega, how come?” Kirishima asks.
“Stupid American pheromone blockers, I’ll take them off later at home, promise.” I say and pull my hand back to finish quickly and get back to my family and quickly as I can. I can hear both alphas walk away, and I pull my hand to my chest.
*********************************************
Hero-con is over, and I can finally come home. After we all graduated, everyone pulled their money together and we bought a huge house together which allowed all of us to live together as a pack. Before I left, I entered a relationship with Bakugou and Kirishima but now I do not know if they still want me in a dynamic with because they’ve been an Alpha/Alpha relationship for 6 years. I don’t’ even have a room anymore, Denki took it when I moved to America. There might be room, I think, Midoriya (A) and Todoroki (A/O) have a room, Sero (B) and Mina (B) have a room, Shinso (A), Jirou (B) and Denki (O) all have separate rooms even though they are together which leaves Bakugou (A) and Kirishima (A) who have the biggest room. I could always share with Denki until I find a new place, I say to myself as I knock on the front door.
I wait patiently, until the door is opened revealing a very excited Denki. Practically jumping on the spot.
“Y/N YOU’RE HOME.” He shouts while throwing himself into my arms. I hug back, I breath him in and tears start to fill my eyes.
“Oi sparky, you know the rules. She needs to follow the greetings as she’s been away for so long.” Says Bakugou with his arms crossed. I enter the house and look around seeing everyone in their groups. I cannot believe I am home.
I quickly great Mina and Sero first, presenting our pack mark and then onto hugs. Next, I go straight over to Shinso, presenting my neck to show I am not a threat to his omega or beta. Which he simply nods and as these dynamics, Shinso does not really care for. I great Jirou and then great Denki properly by touching our noses together. I approach Midoriya next as he used to be the main Alpha who brought us all together, I greeted him the same way as Shinso but instead Midoriya threw his arms around me puling me into a hug.
“Please never leave again, Bakugou’s been impossible” He whispers into my ear. I laugh looking over his shoulder to a very anger Bakugou. I turn to Todoroki who is half Omega/Alpha, I greet him the same way as Denki, I know he prefers that greeting than the alpha one. Its finally time to see if they still want me. Kirishima is practically beaming at Bakugou side. I approach with my head down; I can feel everyone’s eyes on me as I approach him. As he is lead Alpha, I must wait to see what he will do.
“Still can’t smell you omega.”  Bakugou announces loudly.
“There’s a pheromone implant in my neck, Alpha, see you can feel it.” I reply, taking his hand to my neck. In American you are not allowed to use pheromones in public, so for hero work you must use an implant to block it. Bakugou feels my neck and I can tell he is not happy. He grabs me by my neck, slamming me on the wall behind him. Everyone runs forward but Kirishima stands forward stopping them. Telling them it must happen and that Bakugou won’t hurt me, much.
With his claw Bakugou cuts into my neck to pull the impact out, I do not make a sound and only look at him in the eye. It must be done, and I know he will not hurt me. Once the implant is out. Bakugou lends forward and breathes me in. He hesitates, and calls Kirishima over. Kirishima looks between the two of use and breaths me in.
“Oh, y/n, you should’ve come home sooner.” Kirishima says, pulling me towards him for a hug.
“Please, Bakugou, get rid of the rest they can’t see me like this.” I whisper.
“Oi, extra’s don’t you have a party tonight. Your hotels have your clothes, now get lost.” Bakugou calls out, looking at them all. No one moves.
“NOW!” Bakugou yells, using his alpha voice and everyone leaves.
As soon as the door closes, I start to cry. Six years of being all alone hit me at once, yes it was my plan to be a strong hero, its hard to do it without your pack or alphas.
“The first sign of your omega depression, you should’ve come home little one.” Kirishima says whispering into my hair.
“How could I, I would’ve let you all down and all other omega’s out there without a voice, so what I had to go through omega depression….. more than once.” I say back looking up into Kirishima’s eyes. Bakugou stands beside us, looking slightly smaller.
“Bakugou, go run a bath,” Kirishima calls out and Bakugou follows his orders.
“Wait, what’s going on. Bakugou what are you doing” I ask, looking confused. Bakugou leans over the stairs to look at me.
“Kirishima’s the Alpha now, we’ll the others haven’t picked up on it yet because we haven’t publicly fought, but he’s been the main Alpha for a while now, I can’t be number one all the time now can I.” Bakugou replies with a smile. I look to Kirishima who still holds me but is beaming with love as he watches Bakugou. I try to pull away from his arms. It is stupid why did I think this would work. They do not want me anymore, I just know. Kirishima noticed how I suddenly changed but decided not to say anything.
“Let’s get you cleaned up and smelling natural.” He says, picking me up with no issues. He climbs the stairs and I place my head into his scent gland in his neck. I notice that neither him nor Bakugou do not have a claiming mark yet. Once we reach the top of the stairs, I see my old bedroom door and ask Kirishima to put my down, he walks ahead to the double doors at the end of the hallway. Which is their room.
“I’ll only stay for tonight, and then I’ll find somewhere else to live, I don’t even have a room here anymore.” I say to Kirishima which makes him freeze.
“Silly omega, come here.” He replies, gesturing me to follow. I start to hear the water running in their private bathroom. Kirishima opens the door and lets me enter the room first.
The first thing I can smell is the strong smell of Alpha but slowly a familiar smell enters, I look around the room and see my stuff. Things that I had left behind, my paintings, photos of the three of use. The queen size bed with three sets of pillows, big enough for all of us. I look around and notice a curtained canopy hiding something. I look to Kirishima who leans on the door frame by the Bathroom and nods. I breath in again and noticed the familiar smell but I am not able to pinpoint it yet.
I pull back to curtain and freeze. “Is that m..” I say unable to finish as I look down, tears filling my eyes. Bakugou comes out of the bathroom and leans on the opposite side to Kirishima. I look at the two of them and then look down at my old nest, they kept it, they really kept it. I can’t speak, only cry. Bakugou comes over to me and hold me bringing me towards the bathroom. Kirishima entered first. He began to undress and tied back his long hair, He entered the bath first, as Bakugou began to undress me as my emotions were betraying me at his moment. There was nothing sexual about this moment, it was about Alpha’s taking care of their Omega. Bakugou lifted me and lowered me into the water to sit in Kirishima’s lap, he quickly undressed and joined us.
I started to calm down, feeling I could now speak. “So, you mean, you have forgotten me, and you still want to be with me.” I ask looking down at my hands. Kirishima wraps his arms around me more and places his head into my scent gland breathing me in, tickling me slightly.
“Of course, silly omega, we’ve wanted you since the day you knocked me on my ass.” Bakugou replied leaning in to kiss me.

Mammon x F!Reader - NSFW  WC:2K
Summary: Mammon and MC get roped into a photo shoot that gets a little bit spicy TW: unprotected sex, creampie. semi-public, oral (F receiving) A/N: AHHHH are you guys as hype for the OM anime??? VIP gets it this Friday and I am HYPE!! Can’t wait to see all my beautiful boys. Also, I’ve been writing this for like a month and finally finished it today since I forced myself to stay awake til it was over. I’m sleepy. I hope you enjoy.
Tumblr media
"Hurry up MC! These fashion types always get pissy when I'm late." Mammon tugged your arm, dragging you behind him.
"Calm down! We'll be there on time." You said, but sped up anyway. Mammon was dragging you along to one of his photo shoots. You had to admit you were a bit excited, though you were trying to play it cool. The ivory-haired demon was already super attractive, but these photoshoots made him look incredible. You may have had a couple of your favorite magazine covers and ads of him hidden in your room.
But he didn't have to know that.
"I'm here. Let's go!" Mammon yelled out as he slammed the door open. He lifted his shades and tossed his jacket onto a nearby chair.
"Ah Mammon! Fashionably late as always...ah, but who is this?" A glamorous looking older witch peered at you over her eyeglasses. She reached out and gripped your chin. turning your face to either side.
"Hey, hands off the human!" Mammon suddenly tugged you back behind him, much to the witches amusement.
"A human? And so attractive at that...SCRAP THIS! I have a new vision! We are going to go BOLD, daring, sensual! Get them both into wardrobe!" she barked to two frazzled lesser demons, who pushed you and Mammon down a hallway. Mammon tightened his grip on your hand.
"Wha-Oi! Keep yer hands where I can see 'em!" Mammon threatened one of the demons as they pulled off your jacket. Another frazzled demon came in and handed you each a garment bag, pushing you both towards two curtained off dressing rooms.
"Um, I'm not really a model." You called out to nobody in particular.
Mammon sighed and you heard the rustling of fabric as he dressed.
"It's no use MC. Once she gets a vision, it's gonna happen. Hurry up and get dressed."
You unzipped the bag and your eyes widened at the little amount of fabric. You heard the witch yell out more directions in the distance and you pulled the dress on.
Either she really gauged your size quickly or the outfit was charmed. because the dress fit like it was tailor made for you. The fabric hugged your curves and fell in all the right places. You looked in the mirror in front of you and gasped. The dress had cut outs along the sides and a keyhole cut, showing off ample cleavage. How the hell were you going to walk out of there in front of everyone in this?!
"Ya done, MC?" Mammon called out. You took another look at yourself before swallowing down your nerves and sliding on the attached heels.
"Uh...yeah." You pulled back the curtain.
"Let's g-" Mammon's words trailed off as he glimpsed you in the revealing dress. Your face felt hot as you could see his eyes roam down your body, taking in each slit of the fabric and down your bare legs. Your hands wrapped around yourself.
“I look ridiculous Mammon! I can’t go out like this!” You whispered, unsuccessfully covering yourself with your arms. Mammon, who hadn’t closed his mouth since earlier, finally snapped back.
“Ya look…” he never finished the thought, because you both were being shoved back to the set by the pair of demons from before.
“Ahh! Marvelous! This is going to be the TALK of Devilgram!” The witch clapped her hands together. She squinted and started positioning the two of you.
“Mammon, darling, wrap your hand on her waist, yes just like that. MC, is it? Turn your head to Mammon’s neck. A little closer…”
You were pressed against Mammon, your lips practically attached to the soft skin of his neck. You could smell his cologne and were hyper aware of his hand splayed on your hip. She adjusted you both slightly, arching your back more and repositioning Mammon’s arms. Finally she stepped back.
“Perfect! Now look into each other’s eyes.”
You looked up and met Mammon’s golden eyes. Maybe it was the cologne or the fact that you were tangled in his arms, but your heart raced as you stared into each other’s gaze. Flashbulbs went off around the two of you and you could vaguely hear the witch making orders to the photographer, but the two of you were consumed with each other.
“Your heart’s racin’ MC. Must be because you’re next to the Great Mammon after all.” He whispered, a grin threatening to spread on his face.
“Shut up, I’m fine.” You hissed through your teeth, though you could feel your skin heating up. Damn photo lights.
“I need something that will push this over the edge. Something...that exudes sexiness…” the witch muttered, pinching the bridge of her nose.
“Hey MC, ya trust me?” Mammon asked and you nodded, confused. One of his hands splayed on your lower back and he pressed his lips to the sensitive spot right below your ear. His hand pushed you close to him, arching your back and the flashbulbs went off rapidly.
“Perfect!! Sensual and daring! I can feel the animalistic ferality!” the witch cried out.
You were at a loss for words and your eyes closed as Mammon slipped his tongue out to lap at your skin.
“Shhh…” He breathed into your neck. From the outside, the two of you looked like professional models, albeit in a suggestive pose. Inside though, your heart was jackhammering in your chest as he nipped at your ear lobe. You felt something poke your thigh and looked down.
“Mammon! Are you…hard?”
“Ya think I could control myself when you look like that? Fuck MC…” the rest of his words were muffled as his breath tickled your neck and you tried to maintain your composure.  After what felt like an eternity, the director cut the shoot for the day.
“Great work Mammon, Y/N!” The witch barked out, turning to discuss something with the crewmates. Mammon ushered you towards your dressing rooms, but pulled you into a dark office in the back of the building.
Immediately, he latched himself to your neck, pressing kisses down the column of your throat.
“So fuckin’ hot MC. Fuck it took all I had to keep from fuckin’ ya right there.” He panted out as he bit hickeys onto the tops of your breasts. He tugged down the dress, causing it to rip open.
“Shit! Mammon, that was probably a million dollars!” You wailed, eyes widening.
He continued his assault on your chest, unfazed. “Fuck it. Shouldn’t have looked so fuckin’ good, babe.” His fingers ran down your skin, now freed from the dress and he squeezed at every inch of your curves. You shivered as his fingers trailed down your hips, pulling you closer to him.
“Mammon, someone might see us! We can’t do –”
You lost your words as he continued to kiss down your tummy, feeling his warm breath inching closer to your heat.
“Fuck...I wanted this so damn long. I wan’a taste every inch of ya, babe.” He whispered into your skin, tugging down your panties. Immediately, he buried his tongue inside you, lapping at your soaked folds. His painted nails dug into the flesh of your thighs, as he strained to explore every bit of you. Biting your lip, you tangled your fingers into his snow-white hair, gently tugging him closer into you. A low whine escaped his lips and the vibration had your body trembling.
“Fu-fuck Mammon...don’t stop, please…” Your words were strained as he slid his fingers across your skin and teased your entrance. The cool tiles on the wall pressed against your back as you gave into him, letting him devour you.
His tongue moved in a frenzy as he plunged two fingers inside you. Your vision blurred and your grip on his hair tightened, feeling as though if you didn’t hold on, you would float away in a euphoric rush.
“That’s it babe...ya gonna cum for me? Cum in my mouth baby, lemme taste it.” Mammon panted as his fingers curled inside you, his lips enclosing around your clit.
You cried out as you felt your body release on his lips. Groaning into your cunt, he slid his tongue up your folds, attempting to drink every drop from you. Your body twitched with sensitivity.
“F-fuck…’s too much.” You panted out. He slowly pulled away, his dark skin glistening with your juices and looked up at you. His gleaming eyes met yours as he stood up and pulled you into a tender kiss. You could taste the sweet tang of yourself on his tongue as he pulled you impossibly close.
Finally breaking apart, you looked up at him with hazy eyes. The two of you looked drunk on lust and wordlessly you pulled at the buttons on his shirt as he undid his belt. Your fingertips traced the muscles on his chest, down his abdomen and you shivered at the hungry look he had on his face. You could see the tent in his boxers and he looked down at you, as if to ask you for consent.
Nodding, you pushed down the waistband of his boxers, freeing his cock. A prominent ridge ran across, separating the tan shaft from the reddish tip. Precum glistened on the tip and you could feel your cunt clench at the idea of him inside you.
Mammon, the normally blabbermouth brother, seemed lost for words. His cockiness was gone, replaced with a softness for you, the vulnerable side of him only you got to see. Wrapping your arms around his neck, you pulled him into another kiss.
“I want you so bad Mammon...please make love to me.” The words pressed into his neck like a fiery brand and he growled before lifting you onto the table and pushing himself into you. You hissed. Though he had prepped you, he was still thick and he slowed, searching your face for any discomfort. With a slight nod, your eyes fluttered as he bottomed out in you.
“You feel so good, my beautiful girl. Perfect baby…”, he whispered praises as he shallowly humped into you. You could feel the drag of his cock on your walls and you rocked to meet his thrusts. He had one hand on your lower back, the other propping the two of you up on the table and the feeling of being surrounded by him, as he gently fucked you on his cock had you gripping at his back muscles.
“Yes...right there. Faster, ohh.” You breathed out as he plunged deeper into you, speeding up his rhythm at your request. The wood of the desk creaked and you knew if anyone was outside the door they would be able to tell exactly what the two of you were doing. But you were drunk on lust, dizzy in Mammon and he was infatuated with you, staring down at your heaving breasts as he pounded into you.
Your nails dig into his skin and his grip on you tightened as he pressed his lips to yours, swallowing your moans. You could feel the sweat plastering his hair to his skin and with every thrust, his body seemed to scream your name.
“Not gonna be able to...hold out much longer babe. You’re squeezin’ me so tight, fuck…”  He panted into your neck, licking at the salty skin and leaving soft bites. You could feel the coil in your belly tighten as your body began to tense up. Wrapping your legs around him, you forced him into you deeper. Whimpers fell from his mouth as you bit on his shoulder.
“Fuck, fuck Mammon, I’m–” You cried out as you gushed around his cock. With a few more thrusts, Mammon yelped and pulled you against him as he spilled his seed into you. You could feel his cock throb inside you and he let out a low groan as he slowly pulled out, the mixture of the two of you spilling onto the desk and your thighs.
Your body felt wobbly and he gently laid you back on the desk. Your eyes closed and soon you felt a cloth cleaning you.
“Mmm...you’re such a sweetheart when you wanna be…” you smiled before looking down at the demon. Your eyes widened.
“MAMMON ARE YOU USING THE MILLION DOLLAR DRESS AS A CUM RAG?!”
He shrugged.
“Looks like we’ll just have to book another gig to pay it back, babe.”

Exhaustion was the only thing you knew of late.
Your body never got used to working sixteen hours a day, surrendering to the mental punishment as you finished out the work week from hell. Just a few feet from your car to the doorway, yet it felt like you were about to walk ten miles to enter your apartment.
It took three tries to enter your pass code, your key lock timing out after being too tired to enter the final number. Sluggishly you entered, almost collapsing on the ground with the door shut behind you, barely having enough energy to slip your shoes off before crashing on the couch.
“Welcome back!”
The two words were scarcely enough to keep you from passing out. The owner of said words appearing in your view was a sight for sore eyes known as Son Hyejoo. The perfect mixture of cute and sexy, rushing to leap into your lap like a pet gone all day waiting for your return.
“I missed you, daddy,” she said, her gaze firmly fixed upon you, batting her long eyelashes. The weight of her body on your lap slowly released a week’s worth of built-up tension.
“Missed you too, Hye. Sorry I’ve been gone so long,” you said, using whatever remaining energy you had to pull her in for a kiss, tasting the unique sweetness on her lips.
“Don’t be sorry. I know you’ve been busy,” Hyejoo said, resting her forehead against yours. “Do you think about me at work, daddy?”
“Of course, baby.”
“What do you think about?”
“All the things I get to do to you when I get home,” you said.
“Like what, daddy?”
“Ripping your panties off so I can see your pretty little pussy. Pulling your hair, pounding you from behind, spanking your tight ass so hard I can see my handprints on you.”
“Fuck, daddy, that makes me wet,” Hyejoo said, biting her lip deeply.
“Does it, baby?”
“Yes, daddy. Do you get hard thinking about me at work?” Hyejoo asked.
“I do, baby. I’m always too busy to do anything about it.”
“You poor thing. Just throbbing in your pants all day just thinking about ruining your princess?”
“Yes, baby. It drives me crazy.”
“I think about you all day too, daddy. You've been gone so long today…”
“Have you been touching yourself, Hye?” you asked.
“Yes, but I didn’t cum yet. It was hard, I spent the entire morning just riding your pillow, it still smells like you. I was so close but didn’t finish, just kept edging myself to you, daddy…”
“Good girl. You must be so needy and desperate for me, aren’t you, Hye?” you asked, caressing her cheek as she leaned into your touch.
“Yes, daddy. I need to cum really bad…”
"I was just going to go to bed when I got home."
"You can't...”
"Why not, Hye?"
"I'm going to keep you up, daddy."
“You better hurry then. My bed looks awfully cozy right now.”
“I know just the thing that will wake you up.” Hyejoo’s triangle lips curled into a smirk while she began slowly undressing, removing her clothes one by one until her nude form was on your lap. Every inch of pale bare skin was yours to be feasted upon, and as always you couldn’t find a focal point— whether it be her full creamy thighs, her huge pale breasts or any other part of her scrumptious body you wanted to mark up.
“I’m suddenly full of energy,” you said, the sight of Hyejoo’s nakedness reinvigorating you back to life, her lips morphing into a beautiful smile.
“I’m all yours, daddy,” Hyejoo said, lifting her arms over her head to give you the perfect view. You could feel your pants tightening while your eyes roamed her body, feeling the silkiness of her thighs as you caressed them. Her large breasts became your next target, trailing your hands up her warm body and giving them a gentle squeeze, fingertips kneading her soft flesh to grab as much as you could.
“Daddy…” Hyejoo whined, your fingertips squeezing as much of her tits as possible.
“Yes, Hye?”
“Taste them, please. They’ve missed your mouth so much.”
“Not yet, baby,” you replied, massaging her perfect breasts, thumbs flicking over her sensitive rosy nipples. Her nubs quickly hardened, toying with them in response. You pinched them both, tugging at them playfully, rolling them in between your fingers before moving back to squeezing her mounds.
“Daddy, please!” Hyejoo begged, the playful assault on her nipples sending her senses overboard. You gave her just an ounce of what she wanted, swirling your tongue around her nipples several times before pulling back, pressing her breasts together to create a divine cavern you licked up and down.
“I’m really wet. Daddy, please,” Hyejoo continued begging, her eyes filled with deep desire.
“Be patient, baby. I didn’t tell you to touch yourself, did I?” you said, staring up at the need in her round eyes, planting your lips on her bare chest everywhere but her breasts, kissing delicate skin in several spots.
“I couldn’t help myself,” she pouted, her cheeks reddening in embarrassment. Hyejoo looked so damn adorable that you couldn’t help but give in, squeezing her ample breasts one more before diving in. Your lips hungrily latched onto Hyejoo’s swollen nipples as she tilted her head back and moaned into your ears, your hands cupping her heavy breasts to devour them like the mouthwatering meal they were.
“That feels so good, daddy,” Hyejoo moaned, cupping the back of your head and pressing your face firmly into her tits, smothering you with her delicious cleavage. You felt all troubles from the week melting away as you rested between her soft pillowy breasts, wanting to live trapped in between them.
“Missed these tits so much, Hye,” you said, giving in to being suffocated by her chest. “It’s all I think about at work.”
“They’ve missed you too, daddy. I can play with them when you’re not around, but it’s not the same.”
Released from the clutches of cleavage you returned your lips to her rosy buds, burying your face in her breasts and nibbling on them, earning sweet whiny moans for your efforts.
“Daaaaddy…” Hyejoo whined, letting her eyelids shut tight. “You must love my tits so much, your mouth feels so good on them, don’t stop, daddy, please.”
“I would never, Hye,” you said, maintaining your oral assault on her breasts, tasting the sweat and lust on them. The combination of teasing licks, slurping and playful bites Drove Hyejoo crazy.
“I really need your cock,” Hyejoo whispered in your ear, nibbling on your earlobe. “Need it so badly.”
“Where do you need it, baby?”
“Down my throat. I need it to gag me, I need to choke on it, I want my eyes to water. I’m so hungry for your cock, daddy, please feed me.”
"Come get what’s yours then.”
With an eager smile Hyejoo hopped off your lap, lowering to her knees and undid your pants, dragging them down to your ankles alongside your boxers. Your unleashed shaft throbbed in her delicate hand, released from its fabric restraints as she wrapped her fingers around it, stroking every single inch from base to tip.
“You’re really hard for me, daddy. It must be so difficult waiting all day for me to suck your cock, isn’t it?” Hyejoo asked. She licked up your length, swirling her wet tongue around your swollen sensitive tip to lap up every leaking drop, planting kisses up your throbbing shaft in between.
“You have no idea, baby.”
Hyejoo’s needy lips parted with your shaft, filling her mouth and taking every inch inside, gagging herself willingly. You rested your hands on both sides of her head, letting her do most of the work yet encouraging deep movements. Her hands held onto your thighs as she fucked her own mouth, choking and gagging on your throbbing cock without hesitation, keeping her throat stuffed while bobbing her head furiously, doing her best to pleasure you.
“Fuck, Hye, just like that, “ you encouraged, staring into her watery eyes while she kept your length deep inside her warm throat, gargling on hard flesh hungrily and leaving a trail of wet messy saliva covering your shaft.
“Good girl, “ you purred, watching her rapid movements, her soft lips slurping and gliding up and down your shaft with ease. You let her do most of the work but ever so often forced her head down your base, holding her there as long as she could manage, her cute nose pressed flush against your stomach.
“Do you want to move to the bedroom, Hye?” you asked, withdrawing your grip from her head, letting her move her lips off your messy shaft with a loud gasp for air.
“No, daddy, you’re tired,” she replied, shaking her head and vigorously jerking off your cock, spitting on it even more. “Let me do the work.”
Her determined eyes were impossible to ignore and you sank back into the couch, awaiting what she had planned next. More drool spilled out of her lips, coating your shaft even more, glistening in the lights. Hyejoo looked into your eyes with a big grin, slipping your shaft in between her huge pillowy breasts and trapping it between her cleavage, squeezing them tightly.
“Oh god, Hye,” you moaned, the sight of your shaft being smothered by silky flesh usurping your senses as she began grinding her chest against your pelvis, creating perfect friction.
“I know this is what daddy really likes,” Hyejoo said, spitting repeatedly between her cleavage to keep your cock lubricated, cupping her breasts to prevent your shaft from escaping from the warm comfort. You loved every moment. Unable to control your moans while watching your cock disappearing in between Hyejoo’s heavenly mounds, soft flesh surrounded your throbbing shaft, every strike of pleasure shooting up your spine, sending intoxicating bliss from head to toe.
“I love hearing you moan for me, daddy,” Hyejoo said, smiling widely, keeping her breasts firmly wrapped around your cock. “It makes me even wetter knowing how good I’m making you feel.”
“You’re doing such a good job, fuck,” you said, trying to keep a trace of awareness while melting into the couch at the intense ecstasy Hyejoo’s perfect breasts were causing.
“You’re not going to cum yet, are you, daddy?” Hyejoo asked, tiling her head sideways, licking your tip every time it reappeared from her cavern.
“I might if you keep doing this. I’ve been so built up thinking about you, baby.”
“I better take you inside me then, daddy,” Hyejoo said, using her breasts to relish more pleasure out of your cock.
Hyejoo straddled you once more, wrapping her full creamy thighs around your waist, wasting no time in getting straight to the point. Lining herself up carefully her hips slammed down, sinking down and impaling her dripping heat, hungry wet flesh eagerly swallowing up your needy cock.
“Fuck, daddy fills me so well,” Hyejoo said, not hesitating nor needing to adjust. Her body moved with purpose to find a steady rhythm.
She gave herself in completely, resting her hands on your chest while you reciprocated and grabbed her wide hips, her increased pace strengthening your willpower to not immediately bust inside her.
Wet warm flesh wrapped around your shaft, demanding you be kept inside Hyejoo’s tight body, clenching around every throbbing inch while you watched her ride you with renewed fervor. Your hands explored her body while her beautiful breasts bounced, hypnotizing you with every ripple, the pleasure in your bodies increasing tenfold.
“You’re throbbing so much for me, did you need my pussy this much?” Hyejoo asked with a hint of a smirk, returning her expression with a slap to her backside, earning a loud gasp.
“Only as much as your pretty little cunt needed my cock,” you replied back, exchanging smiles at your mutual need for one another.
There was something beautiful about the way Hyejoo rode your cock, every inch splitting her insides at the perfect angle to fuck herself with. You were more than content to enjoy the show, keeping your eyes glued to her bouncing breasts and slapping her warm cheeks after each stroke.
“D-daddy, I’m getting close,” Hyejoo said, showing surprising resolve to not cream on your cock immediately due to her own orgasm prevention, each bounce teetering towards the edge and contorting her face in pleasure.
“Cum for me, Hye,” you whispered into her ear, your fingers kneading her plump backside, slapping the tender skin.
Hyejoo’s deep lip bite signaled the end was in reach, alternating spanks on her rear to help chase her release, the rapidly pulsating walls of her pussy and the prominent wetness soaking your crotch grew by the second.
“Ah, I’m cumming, d—” Hyejoo could barely finish her sentence before her climax shook her body like an earthquake, wrapping her arms around your neck and held on tight, desperate to anchor the tidal wave of an orgasm. Her eyes momentarily shut while her toes curled and back arched high, gyrating her hips to grant herself as much pleasure, trying to extend her high for as long as possible.
“F-fuck, daddy,” Hyejoo breathlessly said, barely able to open her eyes back up. “You made me cum so hard on your cock.”
“I know, Hye. Good girl.”
“Your turn now,” she said with widening eyes, words that couldn’t be agreed with more. No longer did you feel zapped of energy, your second wind coming just as soon as you were. You picked Hyejoo’s frame up and placed her on the couch still buried inside her warmth.
“Gonna fill you up, Hye. I’ve been dying to do this all day,” you said, looking deeply into her glazed-over eyes, thrusting carelessly, pistoning your hips with desperation to earn your release.
“Cum inside me, please please daddy,” Hyejoo begged, wrapping her legs tightly around your waist, locking you in place. “Breed your little slut, drain every drop inside my tight little hole. Please, daddy, give me everything you have, fill my womb with your seed.”
Finding the crook of her neck you sucked harshly on her skin to leave a mark, (something Yerim wasn’t going to like but you didn’t care), your balls tightened with each thrust, spearing yourself into her wet dripping flesh.
“Gonna breed you so fucking full of my seed, Hye, fill that pretty pussy up, “ you growled, hips frantically moving, smacking into her heavenly flesh. "You're all mine."
Burying yourself as deep as you could go you moaned loudly as your throbbing shaft erupted hot cum into her tight pussy, thick creamy spurts flooding her walls, milking every drop from you until she was filled to the brim.
Coming down from your high you kept the movements going, sending your load into the depths of her womb where it belonged, using shallow thrusts until you had no more energy to move.
“Fuck, baby. You really drained me,” you said, gasping for breath, still weary from the exertion.
“That was the point, daddy. I’m happy I made you cum so much. It’s so warm and thick, I want it to stay inside me forever.”
“Me too, Hye,” you breathlessly said, giving her one chaste kiss while your sweaty bodies stayed tangled.
“Don’t pull out, daddy. Stay like this.”
“Of course, Hye,” you said, running a hand through her hair. You were both too tired to move so this just made it easier. One more kiss on her forehead before you drifted off into the night.

Better Unsaid
a/n okay this has been all over the place!! it was originally going to be a blurb and darker and closer to smutty (so keep your eyes out for that??? lol), but then I made it softer and the concept got away from me and it got soooo much longer than expected lmao and i still dont love where it ended so maybe part 2?? i have the idea i just dont know lol
summary: Reader is a princess and Anakin has been her guard during the most public season for the past two years (not the most logical thing but just go with it lol, it gets explained better in the fic) and after a near death experience the two are conveniently forced into a....
ONE BED TROPE ONE BED TROPE *cough cough* ONE BED TROPE WITH ONE PERSON HAVING TO WAKE UP THE OTHER BC THEYRE HAVING A NIGHTMARE,, :)))))))
  --
His smugness is the only thing about him I can consider ‘ugly’. And because I am so desperate to not have feeling for Anakin, the Jedi who has been assigned to protect me through coronation season (which lasts for most of winter), for the last two coronation seasons, I hold onto my distaste for that side of him. Which is why I suppress my laugh as he waits for my reaction with that confident smile.
“Come on, that was funny.”
Rolling my eyes, I let myself sit on my bed. I can’t tell if he’s actually funny or if my evening has been so boring that his sense of humor has started to become appealing to me due to comparison. In short, the suitor I was forced to spend an entire evening with lacked personality so much I’m starting to find Anakin funny.
“You’re much more entertaining than this evening’s suitor.”
Anakin’s expression shifts slightly, his assured grin dropping slightly. “Another miss?”
“You have no idea.” I relax slightly, taking a moment to be glad that I completed my father’s request and now I can just enjoy the time I have with Anakin. “I know my father’s desperate to make sure my marriage is useful for our people and that he worries about this selection process because he always thought my mother would be here to help, but sometimes I wish he wouldn’t rush it so much. It feels like all he wants me for is to marry me off in exchange of finance or weaponry or something diplomatic.”
“You’re more than that.” His response is so soft I think I might have missed it if I needed it less. I curse myself for feeling so validated by him. His words shouldn’t mean anything to me. After all, he could easily just be saying that because agreeing with my father will just make me more unpleasant to be around.
I smile politely while avoiding his eyes. I keep my hands on either side of me, fighting the urge to fidget. “Thank you, Anakin.” My words sound weak in my own ears, so I’m sure he notices my shift in mood. “I’m tired today, I think I’m going to go to bed early.” Normally, I’d be able to shrug off these kinds of things, but the beginning of Coronation Season makes me irritable. The anniversary of my mother’s death hits me harder each year.
“Y/n.” My name comes out so velvety I can’t find it in myself to interrupt him. “You are more than someone meant to be used as some kind of royal currency, and I mean that as more than just a...friend.”
I let his last word linger. We’ve tried so many titles that never seem to fit right. He’s the chosen one, one of the most powerful Jedi to exist, and the Jedi assigned to protect me each Coronation Season because that’s when my mother was assassinated. He’s my guard, but we’ve spent too many nights laughing together and talking about everything and anything. And I guess now he’s my friend, even though sometimes when he looks at me in a certain way or sits too close to me or reaches for my hand to guide me somewhere I can’t breathe right.
“Anakin, you know I love when you’re here, even though sometimes you drive me insane. And I appreciate your kindness, but your words can’t change the truth. That’s how my father sees me and he’s not exactly wrong. I’m not a son, I haven’t been raised to lead an army or lead much, and--”
“I’ve seen you in meeting after meeting, convention after convention. I’ve witnessed the way you handle real problems and I know how you care about your people. You’d make a great leader, you don’t need a husband to be valuable.”
My chest swells, feelings I never let myself think about mixing with thoughts of Anakin that I’ve spent so long trying to avoid. “That settles it, you’re my favorite person.”
He grins, the look warm enough to melt the odd lump in my throat. I fight down a smile as he steps forward. “And I wasn’t before?”
“I take it back--your head’s big enough without the additional praise.”
Rolling my eyes, I lean back slightly in order to recreate the distance he so easily destroyed. “And I thought you had finally warmed up to me, princess.”
The use of my title makes me skeptical. The last time Anakin used it was when he was trying to ease me so that I’d walk around the palace garden so he had an excuse to do the same. It was beyond late and I was half asleep, but he had os much energy he was desperate and just needed to do one more thing. I felt bad that his schedule revolved so heavily around mine (and when he softens his eyes and says please, I’m left incapable of saying the word ‘no’) so I agreed.
“What do you want?”
Anakin dramatically clutches a hand over his heart. He throws his head back slightly as if he’s just taken a fatal blow. “When did you turn so cynical? I’ve been back for three days and I’m starting to believe you’re a different person now.”
Yeah...he’s definitely getting ready to ask for something that’s more trouble than it’s worth. Then again, everything with him seems to be worth it in some capacity. Even if it’s just that one smile he gets when he’s truly content and doesn’t think anyone’s looking.
“Mhm,” I mumble, still fighting a grin, “so you’re not going to ask me anything?”
His lips part slightly as he exhales. I watch the way his eyes narrow at my victorious expression. “I don’t have anything to ask of you, but I do have a small request. A request so small you won’t have to do anything but say yes.”
Suspicious. Too easy. “You’re unbelievable.”
“You just said I was your favorite person. Remember that.”
I’m too tired for his coyness. I’d rather him make his ridiculous request now so that I can be in bed within the hour. Though I can’t pretend I don’t normally feel better after letting him drag me along on whatever ‘adventure’ he just needed to complete while also not letting me out of his sight. I used to tell him that I wouldn’t tell anyone if I wasn’t under supervision for an hour or two a day, but he dismissed the idea immediately. That’s been the cornerstone of everything.
“What is it?”
He sighs once, tilting his head slightly. The way his eyes soften tells me he’s already won at least half the battle. “They still haven’t caught the attempted--” Anakin pauses, something behind his eyes darkening. I know what he’s remembering. Last night, an assassin had gotten closer than they ever had. I had almost been shot in the garden, Anakin had barely pushed me to the ground in time. A fact he’s been beating himself up for since, especially considering that no one has been able to find my attempted killer yet. “They were so close to you. They were within palace limits and they disappeared like they never existed. Who’s to say they don’t work here and are waiting for the next moment you’re exposed? Who’s to say they aren’t here tonight, waiting for me to retire for the night?”
I didn’t realize how my near death experience had been so personal to him. He, like everyone else, was beyond frantic after it happened. But my father put an end to verbal worry before it could truly begin. He said the best thing we could do was act like everything was fine as the assailant was searched for. Anakin hadn’t been particularly cheery after my father instructed the guards to focus their search on known enemies instead of prioritizing venting the staff closest to me. I comforted him as best as I could, but he didn’t feel like speaking about it and I had to worry about the suitor meeting my father wouldn’t let me cancel.
“Anakin, you’re right next door to me.” I have to fight the urge to reach for him. “I was fine because of you, and I will be fine because of you.”
He sighs once, his expression not easing. “And if the person is silent? The attacker could easily work in the palace, but no one wanted to direct the search inwards.” His words are more strained than I’ve ever heard them be. “I think it’d be smart for me to stay in here. I know you’ve refused having a guard stay in your room or outside your door, but...” Anakin sighs. “Your safety would be more assured.”
Him staying in my room? The only line I’ve ever been allowed to draw, and I’m actually considering letting that go. If he seemed even slightly less sad, I wouldn’t even consider it. It’s not a good idea. I’m already too attached to him. “Anakin--”
“I’d feel more assured.”
Damn him. Stupid, extremely sweet Anakin who makes saying no to him impossible. I stretch my arm forward, letting my hand squeezes his forearm gently. “There’s no reason to not feel assured.” He doesn’t ease, the cloudiness behind his eyes remains stubborn. “You’re still worried.” No reaction, the haze that’s taken him isn’t letting go. “Fine--but tell no one or my father is going to take to posting guards at my door every night.”
...I guess there are worse ways to spend a night. Which is kind of a problem since I’m trying to...enjoy Anakin less. Ugh, I even sound dumb in my head. “I promise, princess.”
Ugh, he’s adorable. “You’re intolerable.” I stand from he foot of my bed and pull back the covers on my bed. He doesn’t reply, something dark still playing for him. I watch him move to face the door. Wait--is he doing what I think he’s doing? “No, you’re not going to stand there all night. You need sleep.” He has the audacity to give me an annoyed look. “I already didn’t want to do this so now you have to listen to my conditions.”
He raises an eyebrow, his lips pressing together oddly. He’s trying to gauge something from my expression, perhaps he’s looking for buttons to press to get his way. I guess I look as stubborn as I feel because instead of arguing he just sits on the floor. What? I watch him cautiously, trying to figure out if this is some weird argument trick.
“What are you doing?”
“What you asked.”
And just like that I’ve put myself in a position that I will no doubt regret terribly the second common sense returns to me. There’s no way to deny that Anakin and I are closer than we probably should be. We’ve felt like friends first since the day we first met. I can’t think of any reason to not offer to let him sleep in my bed except those stupid budding feelings I refuse to label.
It’s not like I actually like him. I can’t--I’m going to be married to some nobleman and he’s prohibited from ever forming attachments. I’m not even sure if we’re allowed to be friends. Having actual feelings for him would be so, so pointless. It would just lead to heartache and the ruining of the one genuine relationship I have. I’m just a tiny bit confused right now because he’s objectively really attractive and he’s always there for me. Always there to make a joke after a particularly rough meeting. Always there to offer me a supportive smile. Always there to humble me when I teeter on acting like my father.
Anyone’s heart would flutter at that, so it doesn’t mean anything. And if it does, I need to squash any budding feelings now before I mess things up. Which is why I should keep him at arm’s length until I get it together. But is that fair to him? And what if doing that is making things worse? What if it’s just reinforcing the idea of having feelings?
This is ridiculous. I’m going to get over this if it kills me. It’s just a bed and it’s only sleeping. I’m meant to be able to lead an entire union and I can’t sleep next to someone and act normal?” “You don’t have to sleep on the floor.”
The second the words leave my mouth I regret it all. What’s wrong with me? Did I seriously think I’d be okay?
I hear his soft exhale, “I’ll be fine. I’ve slept in worse places than on your marble floor.”
His voice sounds so weighted I can’t help but feel bad for not noticing that he’s still bothered. Whether he’s upset about his near miss or the fact that my father didn’t take his advice, I don’t know. But something’s wrong. The easy thing to do would be to just let him sleep it off. The smart thing to do would be to leave him alone until tomorrow.
I think of all the times that I’ve been upset and Anakin had refused to let me go to sleep angry or sad or overwhelmed. “I know, but it’s really not a big deal. It’s not like we don’t know each other. I mean, last Coronation Season you buttoned me into more gowns than my handmaid. And I owe you for saving me from one of the worst suitors I’ve ever had.”
“I’m starting to think we need to develop some kind of signal.”
The tiny bit of lightness that’s returned to his voice makes all of my internal struggle feel worth it. “You always seem to know.”
“That’s because when you’re reaching your limit, that one line appears between your eyebrows.”
I didn’t realize I had such a tell. I try to remember the way that the suitor drawled on and on about how amazing he was and how he couldn’t wait for the day he had a bride to bear his children and plan (tedious) social events. My hand moves to my forehead, trying to feel the crease Anakin mentioned. Can everyone tell when I’m growing tired? Am I that transparent?
Anakin’s slight laugh steals my attention. He’s facing me again, his elbow holding his head up on the foot of my bed. “What are you doing?”
“I don’t--I don’t think i get a crease between my eyebrows when I’m irritated.”
I hear him stand. I don’t realize he’s approaching me until he’s so close I could touch him without even needing. to stretch. “No, when you’re irritated you raise your eyebrows slightly, because that’s when you’re at your most sarcastic.”
“Really?”
The corner of his mouth tugs upwards. “Just like that.” I force myself to keep my expression blank. “When you’re reaching your limit, your eyebrows crease here.” His finger taps the space between my brows so gently I almost don’t realize what he’s doing. “And when you’re trying not to laugh--which is often, because you refuse to admit that I’m funny--you press your lips together in a way that forms a dimple here.” The knuckle of his pointer finger brushes against the bottom of my cheek.
I bite my tongue to fight the warmth spreading across my face. “I didn’t realize i was so transparent.”
“I can’t always tell what you’re thinking.”
“I’ll take it.” Maybe if I was less tired, I’d argue a little more. “You know you’re not that difficult to read either.”
“Really?”
“Yes, I can tell when you’re just being stubborn for the sake of it. I can see it in your eyes and you’re doing it right now.”
His expression harshens slightly before softening. “Y/n--”
“I’m not wrong.”
He sighs once, stepping back. I watch him pace around my bed before taking a seat on the edge of my other side of the bed. “Are you happy now?”
“Happy that I won? Absolutely.”
Anakin halfheartedly glares at me. “Careful, add a crown and a robe that trails down a throne and I’d feel like I was speaking to your father.”
“Careful, another side comment like that and I’ll ‘accidentally’ kick you off the bed in the middle of the night.”
“Not if I kick you off the bed first.”
I trace a thoughtless pattern on the fabric of my bedsheets. “What are you? Twelve?”
“I’m older than you.”
“Barely.” I continue the thoughtless pattern tracing as I fight the sleep from my eyes. “Your comebacks are usually more creative than that.”
He exhales, relaxing slightly as he rests his back against a pillow. “I’m tired, like you claimed to be.” His eyes flutter slightly, a bit of his exhaustion showing. “Go to sleep.”
I should. I’m too old to think I can put off a tomorrow I don’t want by just staying up. This is stupid. I’m too old to think I can put off the anniversary of my mother’s death by going to bed. She had been taken from us on castle grounds, killed by a revolutionist who viewed my mother as a class traitor. I still remember the way she slumped to the ground, her blood staining the snow beneath her. I remember the way the guards were so busy chasing her killer no one thought to keep me away from the body.
“Y/n?”
I scratch the back of my arm in hopes of banishing my thoughts. “Yes?”
“You’re being quiet.”
“You said to go to sleep, that tends to be a quiet thing.”
I can feel his eyes on me. “Since when do you listen to me?” Not trusting myself to actually reply, I only offer him a hum of acknowledgement. “I know you’re not half asleep.”
Folding my hands on my lap, I avoid his gaze. “It’s tomorrow.”
I don’t know why I trust him to understand my vague response, but I do. His silence stretches over us like a thin blanket on a cold night. Maybe he doesn’t understand what I’m implying. I can always correct him tomorrow, when my eyelids are no longer as heavy as my heart. The more seconds that pass in total silence, the more I think that maybe he’s fallen asleep.
I wouldn’t be surprised, Anakin has seemed tired recently, like some additional weight he won’t share with anyone has been thrust onto his shoulders. A small part of me rolls in guilt. I need to be a better friend, just because I’m suddenly a little too aware of him doesn’t mean I can shrug him off and ignore him.
My hand almost flinches away from the feeling of something surprisingly warm touching my pinky. When I realize that it’s just Anakin and that the contact was probably accidental, I force myself to ease. It’s not like we’ve never touched before, I don’t understand why I’m making it weird. Sitting in my bed in the dark doesn’t change anything. His hand turns slightly, pressing into mine a little more assuredly. Biting my tongue, I turn my hand slightly, exposing my palm. And just like that, our fingers intertwine.
“She would have been proud of you.” His voice comes out so low I barely register the words.
The words shouldn’t mean much to me--he never knew my mother and has no way to know what she wanted me to be.--and yet I find comfort in them. I smile, turning my head towards him. “You didn’t even know her.”
He rolls his eyes slightly, relaxing further before squeezing my hand once. “Who wouldn’t be proud of you? You’re kind and smart and decent to be around when you’re not telling me what to do.”
My heart swells in my chest so much I’m surprised it doesn’t burst. Could he be cuter? “Yeah...now I’m sure you’re my favorite person.”
“Now you’re sure?”
The smugness in his voice has me rolling my eyes. “Don’t make me regret saying that.”
“Maybe in the morning,” he says easily, “now go to sleep. There’s nothing worse than escorting you from meeting to meeting while you’re tired.”
“I’m not that bad.” Even in this darkness, I can make out the way he raises an eyebrow. “Shut up--I’m going to sleep, but not because of you.”
He lets out a slight huff. “You’re impossible.”
The desire to respond to his comment is not enough for me to win the fight against the weight of my eyelids. The moment my eyes shut, I feel powerless to anything that isn’t sleep. I let myself fall into a weightless sleep, my only tether being the Anakin’s fingers around mine.
--
A distant noise yanks me from my sleep. I’m too drowsy to do anything but register the sound. I hear another similar...whine? cry? I can’t tell and I’m too asleep to figure it out. I almost fall asleep again, but a third distressed sound keeps me from it. I wipe my eyes lazily with the back of my hand as I try to sit up.
Squinting, I make out a figure on my bed. It takes me a moment to remember Anakin and how I fell asleep. Our hands are still together and no light is peering through my window so it can’t be that long since I fell asleep. Another disgruntled sound carries itself throughout the room. I shift slightly, leaning over Anakin cautiously.
Golden brown curls are beginning to stick to his forehead and his eyebrows are drawn together sharply. He’s having a nightmare.  I shift even further forward before cautiously placing a hand on his shoulder before squeezing him gently.
“Anakin,” I whisper, “it’s not--it’s not real.” His eyebrows draw together even more harshly. I shake him a little more stubbornly. “Anakin, wake up--you’re having a ni--”
 My forearm is grabbed so suddenly I barely register it before I feel my back shoved into my mattress. I blink twice. His dark eyes are frantic and the look on his face is far from the gentle, easygoing expression I’m used to. He’s breathing deeply, his chest rising and falling from above me. I swallow a slight panic and something I don’t understand as I try to keep my eyes on his face and my thoughts away from how close he is. Anakin pries his fingers from my forearm one by one until only his palm is touching me.
“Y/n, I--”
“It’s okay.” Honestly, I’m more worried about his uneven breathing than the way he grabbed me. I can’t imagine everything he’s been through or how justified his nightmares are. Anakin moves his hand away from me. I don’t sit up until he’s off of me and sitting with his back against my headboard. “It’s okay--I just--you were having a nightmare and I thought I should wake you.” He doesn’t react. I turn my body further, keeping my back straight. Anakin doesn’t move, and the longer he stays still, the more I feel like I should say something else. “Do you want talk about it? Or do--do you want to talk about something else? Or go to sleep? Or get some water? Or--” The far off look behind his eyes silences me. I scoot forward slightly. “You’re okay, Anakin, I promise.”
His head turns at that, his eyes searching mine for something I don’t understand. “I thought...” He cuts himself off by swallowing once.
I shift a little more, trying to find anything normal in his expression. “Thought what?”
Anakin’s hand is on my arm so quickly I don’t even register his movement. I let his fingers press into my skin. He’s holding onto me like I’m a figment of a dream and he’s beginning to wake up. “I thought I’d failed.” He exhales, the sound heavy. “Failed you and that you’d--I  thought I had lost you.”
A lump rises in my throat, thick and unmoving. Cautiously, I place my hand over the one still gripping my shoulder like a lifeline. “You didn’t. Nothing happened, it was just a dream.”
His gaze falls to the ground before he repeats the last of my words. “Just a dream.” There’s a hollowness to his voice I don’t understand.
I exhale, carefully running my thumb over his knuckles. “Yes.” He doesn’t say anything but his expression hardens again. I let us sit there like that for a long minute. “I promise.”
“You can’t promise things like that.”
I sigh, unsure of where to go from here. “Bad dreams are only bad dreams.” He doesn’t reply. “I think you should try to get some more sleep.”
Anakin is unresponsive. I shift back, but before I can transition from almost being on top of him to just sitting next to him, he pulls on my arm to keep in place. “I don’t know what I’d do if something happened to you.”
“Nothing’s going to happen to me.”
“You almost died today, y/n. I was right there and if I had been a second later--”
“But you weren’t.” He doesn’t ease. “You were there and I was fine. Don’t torment yourself over what could have been. You’ll drive yourself crazy.”
“If anything ever happened to y--”
“It’s not going to,” I whisper, ignoring the way his hold on my arm tightens even further, “Especially this time a year when I have a pretty good gau--”
He tilts his head slightly, eyebrows drawing together and a ghost of a smile on his lips. “Pretty good? Really?”
“Someone needs to watch your ego, chosen one.” This time when he tries for a smile, the look has some strength behind it. Relief pools in my stomach. “Now get some sleep, tomorrow’s a busy day and when you’re sleepy you’re beyond irritable.”
Anakin lets me pull away enough to lay down, but he doesn’t follow. Not for a long second. When he does, his movements are impossibly rigid. I watch him out of the corner of my eye as carefully as I can manage.
“Y/n?”
I regret turning my head immediately. I didn’t realize how close he was. It would take no effort from me to make our lips meet. Wait--why am I thinking of that? I’m not allowed to think of stuff like that...especially not about him.
“Yes?”
He lets out a breath before moving his hand. I don’t understand his hesitation until I feel his hand cupping my cheek gently. “What if next time I’m not enough? What if next time I lose you because I’m not strong enough?”
I never thought my death would be such a personal thing to him. Sure, I knew that we had some kind of bond, some kind of friendship, and that my death would bring sadness. But I never imagined I’d matter enough to him that thoughts of my death would be frightening enough to slip into his subconscious and become a thing of nightmares.
“You are enough. Nothing is going to happen to me and if it does it’s not going to be because of you.” Anakin’s lips press together in a way that implies serious uncertainty. His thumb brushes across my cheek so unexpectedly I almost ask him what he’s doing. The intensity behind his eyes is enough to burn me. “Was your dream really that bad?”
He lets out an uncertain breath as his eyebrows draw together. I don’t miss the way his jaw clenches. “It’s more than the dream. I...y/n, princess,” he tacts on, a hint of humor returning to him, “you’re more than a mission to me.”
The admission is so soft I can’t help but smile. “I know, Anakin, we’re--”
“You’re more than a friend to me.” I don’t know if my blood freezes in my veins or if my lungs don’t contract when they should or if my heart literally skips a beat, but I know something in me completely stops at his words. “I--”
“Don’t say it.” I don’t know how I managed to cut him off so sharply and I’m a little disappointed when I do, but it’s the right thing to do. Thought of the code that’s so important to him have clouded half the immense shock and joy swelling in my chest. “What you’re trying to say...I um, I want to say the same.” I try to drop my gaze but he tilts my head up slightly with his hand. “But we shouldn’t, you know that.”
"You want to us to pretend that nothing’s different? You want me to escort you from meetings with one suitor to the next every Coronation Season until you’re married off?”
“No, I’m not saying that. The point is that I’m not saying anything.” His eyebrows draw together in uncertainty. “Isn’t it enough for now, for both of us to just know? If we say it...that could mean bad things for you. And I don’t want to be a bad thing for you.”
“You could never be.”
It’d be so easy to believe him. To believe him and to let him say what I never imagined I’d be able to hear and damn the consequences of tomorrow. “Can we just refrain from verbally saying anything until you’re sure?”
“I’m sure right now. I’ve been sure since the first time we ever walked in the garden together. The night after the first Coronation Ball I escorted you to.”
I remember that night well. The way he hadn’t scolded me for needing air or taking off my uncomfortably high heels to walk in the grass. “If you mean it, you won’t say it yet. I refuse to get in the way of what you’re meant for.”
His thumb runs my cheek entirely, stopping at the corner of my mouth. “Are you capable of not disagreeing with me?”
Rolling my eyes slightly, I place my hand over his. “Probably not.”
Anakin exhales, his playful irritation clear in the sound. “You’re impossible when you’re tired.”
“I am not tired.”
“I can see the sleep in your eyes.”
“I can see it in yours too.”
He pauses, eyebrows drawn together cautiously. “I’ll go to sleep if you do.”
He must be more tired than I thought if he’s compromising with me so quickly. “Deal.”
Neither of us close our eyes for a long second, we just watch each other with wide eyes. It still doesn’t feel like he’s eased, but he’s come back to me so much more than he was earlier. I’ll make sure to check how he’s feeling in the morning. The first morning after we’ve...I don’t know.
I’m trying really hard not to get excited because anything that’s been not said could be taken back so easily. That’s the point--but it’s hard not to let my heart get ahead of my rationality. I’ll just take the good for what it is for now and tomorrow we can figure out the rest. Even though he’s not allowed to form attachments and my father really wants to marry me off to foreign royalty.
Tomorrow. This can begin to be solved tomorrow. My eyes shut and I let myself roll fully onto my back. The second I’m comfortably settled, I feel Anakin shift against the bed. I’m too tired to open my eyes until I feel a weight placed against my chest.
I open my eyes on instinct, less surprised than I should be when I see Anakin’s head resting against my chest. Before I can speak, I feel his arm rest against my side. “Anakin,” I breathe, my hand moving to smooth his hair out of his face the way I’ve wanted to for so long. “What did we just talk about?”
“You said not to say anything,” he mumbles comfortably, “I’m not saying anything.” ...It is kind of the ideal compromise. Especially since I’m too tired to find reason and he feels so warm. “I can feel you overthinking. Go back to smoothing my hair before I have to rise and stand at your door so that your handmaid comes to wake you. Something tells me she’d be glad for the excuse to get rid of me.”
That might be the most dramatic thing I’ve ever heard him say. Selma is the most patient woman in the palace. “Selma would never report anything involving me, I can’t believe you don’t like her. She’s the sweetest woman I’ve ever met.”
“She’s the one that doesn’t like me,” he says, “she always watches me like she’s trying to figure out if I’m planning on stealing you away.”
Too tired to fight my smile, I go back to smoothing his hair out with my fingers. After a moment, he lets out an exhale that relaxes his entire body. “Goodnight, princess.”
“Goodnight.” The word is barely a mumble as I feel sleep tug against me for the second time tonight.
It’s strange, but my excitement doesn’t diminish my tiredness, it just makes the prospect of rest feel so much fuller. Safer. Because there’s so much to sort out and grieve but it’s okay, because we have the time and everything feels okay because Anakin is here, right beneath my fingertips.

You knew Damiano was next to you and that he was telling you something, but you didn’t pay much attention. You absentmindedly nodded your head while writing a message to Victoria to tell her you’ll be back soon.
It was already much later then you have expected it’ll be. Damiano and you had a meeting with some photographer, that will take pictures of the band. All of them were supposed to go, but none of them felt like going, so Vic asked you.
With your feelings for him clouding your thoughts and leaving you awake at night, you weren’t sure how clever of an idea was that. Though, it didn’t seem like he was enjoying it either. For quite some time now, he’s been acting distant, hasn’t really been talking to you. And it was the same way today. He barely said a word to…
A hand grabbed your forearm and yanked you aside, just as you had sent a message to Vic, to tell her you’ll be back soon. You raised your head to see what’s happening and a motorcycle passed by you. Judging by its speed, you knew that if you weren’t pulled away, you’d most likely be hit.
“What in the…” you murmured and turned to see who saved you, only to be met with Damiano’s furious gaze.
“What were you thinking!” he shouted too loudly and you flinched. The night was so quiet, with the humming of the wind as the only source of sound, and his raised voice was almost like an explosion.
“Don’t yell,” you said and jerked your hand away. His eyes crossed your body and you unintentionally held your breath. You could hear your heart beating rapidly and your mouth got dry. You felt like kicking yourself. What about him forced your body to react this way, as its only wish was closeness to him, as it only yearned for his touch and it couldn’t focus on anything but his presence?
It was remarkably irritating, really.
Especially now, when you didn’t even realize that he was talking to you, until his features changed into a frown.
“Are you even listening, Y/n?” he asked.
When he didn’t get a response, he heavily sighed and ran his hand through his hair. You wondered would it be like if you did the same thing.
“You are unfixable,” he said.
Thoughts about touching his hair vanished and your head suddenly cleared.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” you asked.
“It means, Y/n, that you can’t even not get yourself killed. You were on the middle of the fucking road! You could have died and you aren’t even bothered about it,” he said and got a step closer too you. Unlike usually, it didn’t wake a nauseous feeling, like someone removed earth under your feet. This time, it just angered you more. You knew it was stupid, but you couldn’t bottle up your feelings any more.
“Well, you wouldn’t be bothered even if that did happen, so you can stop already with that bullshit. Thank you for pulling me aside, but now we can just get back to the ignoring and not giving a fuck about each other, like recently. I assume you must miss it, after helping me and stuff. It’s a big deal, as you’re usually not able to be polite to me for a minute,” you said, surprised how steady and stony your voice sounded, despite the devouring ache in your chest. You wanted to hit him, push him, scream at him, pull him close, hold him, kiss him, but you stayed still.
“Oh, gladly! Tell me, do you want us to completely ignore each other despite being friends once, like you did for last couple of months, or do you think we could actually explain what our fucking problem is?” he said and raised his eyebrows at you mockingly.
“Don’t even try,” you said through gritted teeth. “It was you who stopped talking to me, you who pretended I’m not in the room and you who killed our friendship. Don’t blame it on me.”
He was dangerously close to you now and your brain only managed to process it when his breath fanned over your face. The realization left you breathless. It was like you couldn’t inhale properly and it made your head spin.
“Well, I do. I blame it on you, Y/n. If you weren’t- fuck,” he cut himself off and took a step back, his eyes purposely not meeting yours.
Despite air absence, you managed to crook out “What? If I weren’t what?”
Your feet twitched, begging you to run away. The way street illuminated his features, made his skin glow almost an ethereal shine and brought warmth and depth into his eyes seemed like too much. After having him so close, no matter that it was only due to a fight, you weren’t sure you could take it anymore. You needed to leave. Or you might do things you’ll regret later.
Though, your curiosity got the best of you, as it’s prone to do.
“Damiano? If I weren’t so what?” you said and now it was you who got dangerously close. You pulled his shoulder to force him to face you. When he turned, you were only inches away, but you managed to disregard the throbbing pain in your heart. If only you could lean a little closer…
“Stupid. That fucking motorcycle almost hit you! You were walking on the middle of the roadway. It could have hit you,” he first raised his voice, but then it got quieter. You could swear his face softened, but then every trace of that disappeared again.
“What were you fucking thinking? If you didn’t focus all your attention to sending messages, you would’ve heard it. Or heard me when i was calling you.”
You didn’t know how to answer him. You were already tired and this fight seemed needless.
“Look, Damiano. Can we just stop now? I was reckless, I suppose, alright. Thanks for not letting a motorcycle kill me, if that’s what you want to hear. Can we just go-“ you started but was cut off by Damiano:
“That’s not what I want to hear! How can’t you see it, Y/n?” he said and only then have you realized how tired he looked. And somehow… sad.
Last few months, something in your relationship with Damiano changed. There was that constant tension when the two of you were in the room. Gradually, you grew apart. And you hated that. It might would’ve been easier for you to bury your uninvited feelings for him, but you loved Damiano. He was your close friend and you didn’t want to lose him.
You blamed him for fall of your friendship, for the hole he left in your heart, yet it never occurred to you that it might be just as hard for him. You knew friendships sometimes fade and there in no one to blame for that. But you refused to let it happen with you and Damiano. Even if you needed to sacrifice your own feelings. Maybe, after some time, they will disappear.
“I don’t want you to thank me. I just… be more careful. I- “but he stopped. You wanted to urge him to continue. But you resisted.
“Alright,” you said. “Let’s just get back.”
You needed to fight the tears. It felt so bitter, saying goodbye. But it was better to part from your emotions than from him, right?
He grabbed your hand. You turned your head to face him again. His scent was so familiar, every little part of his face you knew better than your own. His dark eyes looked at yours, but something in them changed. His gaze wasn’t angry anymore, but some new determination found its way into it.
“I’m sorry,” he spoke quietly, almost whispered. A sad smile formed on his lips, as if every word hurt him. “I just… I don’t want you to get hurt. I got scared and… I don’t know. I guess I didn’t want you to be hit by a motorcycle.”
“I don’t want you to be hit by a motorcycle either,” you said, before you could stop yourself. You wondered why did you say something so stupid, even though it was true, but it was too late. Though, on your surprise, he lowly chuckled.
The sound was so beautiful it put you in a daze, but you soon joined him. You were laughing for some time, the sound spreading through the chilly air of the night and filling the empty street. Though, he got serious again.
“But I really am sorry, Y/n. For acting the way I did for last few months. I wish I could say I didn’t mean to push you away, but that’s exactly what I wanted. I- “
The said smile stretched his lips again. It didn’t fit him. You preferred his laughter from few moments ago.
“I suppose I care about motorcycle not hitting you more than as for the other people.”
Your heart threatened to burst out of your chest.
It maybe didn’t mean anything, of course. You were close friends, that was probably what he implied to.
Though, you could wait no longer to find out.
You leaned in and pressed your lips to his.
But he didn’t kiss you back.
You could feel something inside of you breaking as you backed away quickly, and you knew it was something vital. You fucked this up, you just ruined…
His hands grabbed your face and pulled you to him. Your lips collided with such force it made you lose your balance. But he held you tight and you placed your arms around your neck, as in wish to pull him closer, though it was impossible.
His lips tasted of cigarettes and whiskey he had at the meeting with the photographer, his tongue fought for the dominance with your own. Your teeth clashed in the kiss so passionate and hungry, yet capable of showing how much you needed each other, to make known all of your hidden wishes and pains.
His fingers pressed your waist, so hardly you were sure you’ll wake up with bruises in the morning. Yours were pulling at his hair, which made him shiver and deepen the kiss even more. You could feel his heart beat and chest heavily ascending and descending against yours.
You slowly dragged your fingers on the back of his neck and into his t-shirt, but you needed to pull apart when you lost your breath.
It spun in front of your eyes and you couldn’t even see him clearly. But you could very well see the grin on his face and it brought the alike on your face.
You placed your head in the crook of his neck. His arms embraced you and he was about to say something when your phone buzzed.
The message was from Victoria: You will come back soon, huh? Well, I guess you and Damiano are busy

deja vu
Summary: part two of drivers license!
Warning: angst
Word Count: 1643 words
let me know if you liked it!
_____
If this was a movie, Y/N would’ve collapsed on the floor, knees hitting the ground as her legs lost the ability to keep her weight up. The corners of her lips would tilt downwards as a fusion of sadness and nostalgia bombarded her at every corner. Tears would collect at her waterline, waiting for the remarkable blink that would send each drop of salty liquid down the apples of her cheeks. Y/N imagined she would call Harry on her phone and scream at him as soon as the click sounded, signalling that he had picked up the call.
Yet as seconds passed by, none of those theatrical episodes happened.  Unlike in the movies, Y/N’s physical reactions were minuscule. Her heart ached in her chest. Her throat scrunched like a wad of tissue papers in her hand, drying up with shock and the shallow inhales she let out.  The swirling of her stomach increased tenfold as she teetered between feelings of anger and indifference.  This should not affect her anymore--or should it? It had barely been a few months since she last saw him and a little bit after when the first photos of Harry and his girlfriend went viral on the internet.
Everyone, especially him, seemed to move on from the relationship that they had shared.  Y/N felt like she needed to catch up to him, racing to throw away the feelings she still held for him and to pretend as though nothing happened.  But it was easier said than done.  There were still endless memories that replayed through her head every time she passed by an ice cream shop.  It was a hidden gem, past the popular hot spots.  Not a lot of people knew about it because of its distanced location.  And as much as Harry was a certified health nut; his guilty pleasure was a scoop of strawberry ice cream--in a cup instead of a waffle cone, of course.
Y/N still remembered those drives-turned-beach-trips.  It was mostly during his days off.  She and Harry would spend the whole day together, sharing one spoon amongst each other while they passed the cup of ice cream back and forth. The sound of the ocean encompassed them as they lay hidden around an alcove of rocks. It was a secluded area of the beach that Y/N had found way before.  The sand was grainy beneath the layer of a checkered picnic blanket that Harry kept at the trunk of his car, their bodies laying on top of it.  Eventually, Harry would proceed to just spoon-feed her, ‘accidentally’ nudging her nose with the cold treat.
.
.
.
.
Y/N could feel her shoulders slump at the flashback, body sagging as she sighed at what her phone screen was reflecting back to her.  It was her Instagram feed showcasing Harry’s profile. A picture of a haunting landscape was captured by his phone lens; it was the very same beach spot that she had taken him to.  Deja vu.
She bit her lip, wanting to smile about how he still visited it even without her.  It showed that Harry still kept a memory of her at the back of his mind.  Y/N’s heart fluttered at the thought, a sliver of hope shining through the dimness of her days. But it was impossible to keep an optimistic stance when she saw the caption.  A simple tag of his new girlfriend’s Instagram handle puckered her lips into a sour expression, brows pinching together in curiosity as Y/N continuously denied the obvious constituent of events.
“There’s no way,” She muttered, breath hitching as Y/N’s thumb hesitated on tapping the bolded font.
There was absolutely no way that Harry would bring someone else in such a coveted spot.  It was hers; she found it first and now he was acting as though it did not hold any meaning to her.  Not like Y/N didn’t spend the last few days laying on his lap, watching the sunset over the horizon. Harry’s fingers would comb through her tendrils, tucking his jacket tighter around her chin to ensure that she was warm despite him being covered in goosebumps himself. Y/N would look up to see the beginning stubbles of his facial hair as Harry looked ahead, his green eyes mirroring the artistic hues of orange, pink and purple.
“What’s up, Y/N?” Jenny asked, returning from her short trek to Y/N’s small kitchen. One hand was carrying a large bowl of chips while the other held two cans of soda.
Y/N stared at her friend with hesitance.  Was it worth bringing it up? She must be sick of her talking about him all the time.
“He brought her to our place,”
It was harder to hear it out loud.  She didn’t even recognize her own voice; void of emotion except for a strained sound of pain.
Jenny tilted her head to the side, “Who did?”
“Harry. . .” Y/N cleared her throat before continuing, “There was this place I found in Malibu. At a beach.  It’s pretty hidden and I used to go there by myself whenever I needed to think. I took him there.  It was our place, you know? Somewhere only the two of us knew and I don’t know,” She trailed off.
“You thought he would keep it between you guys,” Jenny finished off, nodding her head in empathic comprehension.
“Yeah, it just sucks,” Y/N furrowed her brows, staring at the space in front of her as she took in the gravity of the situation. “He even took her to D’Campos,”
“The ice-cream shop?”
She nodded, “It was on her Instagram story today,”
“Forget about him, Y/N. He doesn’t deserve your tears,”
“I’m not even crying,” She chuckled, slapping Jenny’s arm jokingly.
“You look like you’re about to,”
Y/N sighed, “It hurts.  Feels like he’s everywhere.  Just when I thought I was moving on, he pulls shit like this and I’m forced to remember how good it was between us, you know? I haven’t driven past D’Campos or anywhere else that I might see him because it hurts too much to reminisce what I don’t have anymore.”
It was ridiculous how much Y/N has had to change her routine in order not to feel any more pain.  She actively avoided places where Harry frequented in fear of confrontation and also because he might be with his girlfriend.  She didn’t know how she could stay stoic seeing their hands clasped together, gazing at each other lovingly when Y/N wanted that from him for herself.
“You’re doing just fine, honey.  Do you know who can’t move on? Him.”
“I’m pretty sure he’s doing fine,” Y/N said sarcastically, resting her back on the couch. “Better, even.”
“Uh, I don’t think so,” Jenny argued, “Out of the two of you, who’s the one always going to the places you shared?”
Y/N opened her mouth to answer but a swift hand in the air caused her to halt.
“It’s him, right?” Jenny answered rhetorically.  “I do not care what you say; that man misses you and it shows.  Harry’s going to where he expects you to be, probably in hopes of running into you. Maybe even because he wants to relive the moments you shared together with her in hopes of him feeling the same way he felt like when he did with you,”
“T-that’s insane. He’s fine without me,” Y/N stuttered out, crossing her arms over her chest in defiance.
“First of all, you are in denial. Secondly, you cannot tell me that he doesn’t. He’s practically doing everything you guys used to do with this new girl.  Why? Because he fucking misses you, Y/N.  Hell, you’ve even got the same name.”
“It’s just a coincidence,”
“My ass,” Jenny scoffs, “Answer me something, do you still remember how it felt being there with him?”
Y/N nodded, “Always,”
“Describe it to me,”
Y/N squinted her eyes in suspicion. Where was Jenny going with this?
“Uh, as cheesy as it sounds, I felt happy and free. I could talk about anything without being judged.  He had a way of making me feel comfortable without even saying anything.  When we were together--wherever we were--I could be vulnerable about myself in front of him,”
“Would you do whatever it takes to feel that same way again?”
In a heartbeat, Y/N stated, “Without a doubt.”
“Tell me, if Harry asked you to meet him there right now, would you go?”
Y/N’s breath hitched as she took a moment to process the question. She had just said that she would do whatever it takes to feel the same unconfined emotion again.  So why was she saying ‘no’?
“I-I wouldn’t,”
“Exactly,” Jenny concluded with a quirk of her brow.
“You’re gonna have to explain,”
“Gladly,” Her friend quipped. “You want to feel liberated, vulnerable, and honest again but not necessarily with Harry.  That place meant a lot to you--sure.  But it doesn’t matter.  What counts is who you are with.  Who’s giving you that type of comfortability that you’re able to be just yourself around them. Do you understand?”
Y/N leaned forward in interest.
“You are well aware of that but you won’t accept it. You won’t go with him because you know that it won’t be the same anymore. That’s the first step of moving on.  Once you acknowledge that as much as you miss him, as much as you think you want him to be around, you know better than that. He’s changed and so have you.  He’s searching for that same feeling by going back to the places that you used to go to.  Thinks he will find it there but--,”
“He won’t.” Y/N finished off. “Because she is not me,”

A/N: I thought it would be fun to write up a random oneshot. I wanted to base it around a character I haven’t gotten to write for yet, and with all of the Marvel shows being rolled out, this seemed pretty fitting. Enjoy!
(Fun fact: This was supposed to be an April Fool’s Day piece, but it ended up taking a completely different turn).
Synopsis: Loki’s attempt on hiding his ever growing feelings only seems to bring more pain.
You and Me (Loki Laufeyson x Reader)
Tumblr media
It only took him six months to realize that maybe you were an exception to what he once thought was pure hatred for mankind.
Loki had found himself in such an odd feeling. You were kind to him, and not just in the way that others tried to be.
You genuinely liked being around him, not that he’d ever believe it himself.
Why would you even give him the light of day?
His past was something that he couldn’t outrun. Even now, he still struggled to see any good in himself. The only time he actually felt like maybe there was more to him than just pain was when he was beside you.
Your soft eyes always looked up to him while he spoke, and it made him feel validated. Your sweet smile and laughs offered a moment of peace when all that spun in his mind was chaos.
But he never wanted this to happen.
Loki tried so hard to ignore the inevitable. Because deep down, the moment you walked up to him with a small quirk of your brow, he knew he was gone.
You weren’t like the other humans. You were bubbly, yet mature. You didn’t run up to him and bombard his silence with questions or accusations. You even made him feel like he was more than just his brother’s shadow.
With you, he was something. And God, did that feel good.
He had been trying to think of what to do for days now. Of course, his first thought was that this would never work out.
You deserved so, so much. And there was no way that he could be what you needed.
His cold heart would fizzle out your light, he was sure of it.
And whether he was aware of it or not, your conversations soon began to shorten. His teasing eye rolls became excuses to leave for “other matters.”
It hurt. A lot. But he didn’t know why.
He was sure that his interests would fade the less he would be around you.
But little did he understand, it hurt because he was still falling for you. Over and over again he would keep falling deeper into whatever spell you had cast, and no amount of time away from you could change that.
However, you took his nervousness to be lack of caring.
He used to be the “bad guy,” of course he didn’t care about you.
He was a God, and Gods deserved to be around angels. You knew in your heart that you could never be this.
You tried your best to keep up with other tasks. That was your job after all: to help the Avengers with their missions and information.
But the work soon became foggy, and the only thing you could really feel was the sting in your gut.
Maybe he found out how you felt about him. You made it so obvious, of course. There’s no way he didn’t catch on after all this time.
It wasn’t until the first of the month that you began to question that theory.
The tall man was in the room with you, sneakily stealing glances while you read through some files that had been given to you.
Of course, you two weren’t alone together. There was no way either of you could stand that for more than a couple seconds. However, there was still a tension between you both that left the other Avengers feeling just as off as you were.
Loki took one more look at you and decided that enough was enough.
Not talking to you was almost more painful than the thought of you rejecting him.
He wasn’t one to be soft. Not at all. But something about you just sat with him, and to be honest, he was getting kind of sick of it.
With a few quick strides, he was right there, trying his best to fake one of his signature smirks.
“That file seems to be getting the best of you,” he spoke smoothly.
His voice made you shiver, but it also pissed you off a bit. Who did he think he was? God or not, he couldn’t just go up to you and act like everything was just fine.
You scoffed.
“Why does it matter? This doesn’t pertain to you,” you gestured with the documents in your hand.
Loki’s smile faltered for a bit, but he wasn’t one to let his worries show.
“A bit feisty today, aren’t we?”
He leaned in a bit closer to you and without a second thought, you slammed the file onto the desk and stormed out of the room.
Loki froze for a second, stunned.
That definitely was not the reaction he was expecting from you.
He tilted his head a bit as he thought about what to do.
This was what he wanted right? This was the rejection he had been expecting after all. However, something about that just didn’t seem right.
It took him all of 30 seconds to walk out the same door and turn to see you making your way down the hall.
You tried your best to put distance between you two, but it was no use. He was behind you in a snap.
“Have I offended you?”
You let out a laugh at this.
“What do you think, Loki?”
You spun around and looked at his face, only to be met with something off.
His smile was still there, but it was clear that it was a cover up.
It’s almost impossible to hide sadness in his eyes.
The way his stare met yours forced you to calm down immediately. And you hated yourself by how easy he sent your guard down. It was so unfair.
“I would like to know what I did to upset you,” he responded, his voice clearly softer than it was before.
You felt your face drop.
“What you did? You went from being my best friend to having nothing to do with me. You just ignored me without telling me why.”
Loki could sense the tightness in his chest at your words. He never felt like he had a true friend before. And although you referring to him as this made him happy, there was a part of him that broke at the same time. Would he forever just be your best friend?
He hesitated for a moment more.
And then he sighed, his normal stature dissipating quickly.
“You wouldn’t understand.”
You raised your brows at him in disbelief.
“Try me.”
His gaze fell to the ground as he felt a panic rush through him.
He never planned on telling you what he had known for weeks. And he certainly wasn’t about to let it out now. Especially in these conditions.
“Pardon me,” he spoke suddenly.
He turned swiftly and began to walk back down the hall.
He didn’t want it to be like this.
You opened your mouth to say something, but no sound came out.
Instead, you decided that your only choice was to get an explanation before he just ran off. If you couldn’t run from it, then neither could he.
You sprinted after him and grabbed his arm, forcing him to turn back to you.
“No,” you stated clearly.
“No?”
“No!” you crossed your arms. “You’re not leaving without giving me an explanation. I at least deserve that.”
Loki rolled his eyes in attempt to play it cool.
“I do not think it’s necessary to explain anything.”
He tried to turn around again, but you were quick to just pull him back around, visibly closer this time.
“Don’t you dare,” you challenged. “Look. I don’t care if you never want to speak to me again. But I at least want to know what changed.”
Loki felt the same tightening in his chest again.
“That is not what I want,” he said in a quieter tone. You could barely hear it.
“What?”
“I do not enjoy being away from you.”
You stood there, a bit stunned. Loki didn’t even know what to say then. He hadn’t expected that to slip out like it did.
This moment of confusion was quickly flooded over with more frustration however.
“You sure don’t act like it then.”
He remained silent at this, and it only drew you on.
“Oh, cat got your tongue like usual? Not surprised. While you’re at it, why don’t you just disappear completely? It would feel just the same at this point!”
He didn’t even try to hide the visible hurt on his face from you. He never wanted it to get to this. He had been trying to avoid it, but it seemed that his attempt at doing so only drove things to be worse.
“Is that... what you want, (Y/N)?”
God. How could he make even the most melancholic sound of your name into the sweetest melody?
You shook your head.
“No. Of course it’s not. You’re the one person here who makes me feel listened to, like I’m not actually alone,” you sighed. “I don’t feel like this with anyone but you.”
There was a moment of silence as Loki took in what you said. Did you actually mean this?
In that deafening moment, you felt embarrassed. You never intended on telling him how you felt, and now you were just letting it all spill out.
You stared up at him for a moment as his eyebrows knitted together, his gaze focusing on the ground by your feet.
You couldn’t take it any longer. You knew what he was going to say, and you weren’t ready for the heartbreak right then.
You pushed yourself past him.
Now it was your turn to try and get as far away from the situation as possible.
And it hurt.
It all hurt so much. Everyone warned you about this man, and yet you still got attached somehow.
You could feel the warmth build behind your eyes, and it wasn’t long until the tears began to drip along your cheeks.
As you tried to wipe them away, his voice down the hall made you freeze.
“I think I might love you.”
You swore your heart stopped beating. There was no way this was actually happening; this had to be some kind of sick joke.
The footsteps grew louder as he approached you slowly, not wanting to stress you even more than you already were.
Your response was a sniffle, followed by the gentle turn of your head.
“What?”
You could hear his deep sigh from behind you.
“I was being honest with you. I hate myself for avoiding you, but I just didn’t understand what was occurring,” he paused briefly. “You changed everything for me.”
Your breath caught in your throat.
How do you even begin to reply to this?
Loki took a couple more steps as you contemplated what to do.
Instead of speaking, you turned and reached for his hand as you felt his cold fingers hesitantly curl around your own. His breathing got a bit deeper, and his eyes never left yours.
“Tell me what this means,” he spoke again, his voice dissolving into a whisper.
Your mind ceased any noise, and you realized in that moment that everything made sense.
He was never really the bad guy. Every perception of him was just twisted to the point that even he started to believe it.
But whatever this was between you two had you wanting nothing more than the God of Mischief himself.
“Us,” you softened, pulling him closer to you. “It’s us.”

Can I request an arrange marriage au with the prompt “Please just kiss me already.” With Hawks?
thank you for the request!!
↳ takami keigo x reader → ❝wings❞
event: au prompts summary: the hero commission wanted you to marry hawks for their own gain. it’s hard for you to accept the loss of freedom but will you gain feelings for him? word count: 7k tags/warnings: drama, fluff, angst, tw kidnapping a/n: um this got a bit out of hand i don’t know what happened edit: i most definitely used the wrong dialogue prompt 😞 i fixed it tho pls excuse my dumb brain
Hawks experienced few freedoms in his life. Since he was young he had been under the hero commissions thumb. It didn’t come as a surprise that they would control this part of his life as well.
Of course, the hero commission would want to ensure their greatest weapon would live on through his bloodline. Hawks wasn’t sure what to think, he supposed that it was in his best interest not to think about it. It wasn’t like he had a choice.
The ground rules were pretty simple, he was to publicly ‘date’ you for a time, then eventually propose and marry you. It didn’t have to be a big spectacle but just enough that people didn’t question the legitimacy of the marriage. You didn’t have to like each other, you didn’t have to get along, you didn’t even have to live in the same house for all they cared. The only thing the commission wanted was for Hawks to have children with a similar quirk if not a better one.
Hawks shoved it down but the thought made him sick. It was all too easy to remember how they had treated him as a child, took his name away, his identity, they took everything from him. They expected him to have a child and let them do the same to his own blood?
He pushed away the thought, he had no choice. He had no freedom.
You were in a similar boat with Hawks. Your family had given you up when you were young and you had a strong quirk. The commission was more than happy to take you in and turn you into a hero. Your quirk was best suited to rescue work, once they trained you and sent you off into the hero world it was easy to forget that they had you under their thumb. It was rare that they asked anything of you other than to go on certain missions.
That was until they called you in one day and told you their plans. It was hard to accept. They wanted you to marry a man you had never even spoken to just to have children they could train into heroes. It revolted you but you had little choice, the hero commission was too powerful and there was little you could do.
Hawks was handsome, you’d give him that. He stood leaning against a wall clad in a black jacket, white shirt, and dark jeans. You watched as he looked down at his phone before he glanced around the area looking for someone. His gaze caught sight of you and a look of recognition passed through his eyes. He called out your hero name as he stood up straight.
“Hey, fancy meeting you here.” He said with a charming smile. You thought to yourself that in another life you might just be a normal girl meeting a normal guy for a normal first date. There would be butterflies in your stomach as his golden eyes met yours.
But this wasn’t that life. You were someone being forced to marry a man you didn’t know. There were no butterflies, just numbness.
“Almost like we planned it.” You said but there was no playfulness in your voice.
“Heh, yeah.” He said rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. “I got you these, I know that these aren’t normal circumstances but that doesn’t mean I can’t get you some flowers.”
Hawks held out the flowers, it was a small bouquet but it was pretty, wrapped in brown paper.
“Thank you, that’s thoughtful of you.” You said with a small forced smile. You hated the circumstances you were in but you had the feeling that Hawks was in a similar position as you were so the last thing you wanted was to take it out on him.
Dinner was awkward, for all Hawk’s charm in the media it seemed a romantic dinner was enough to throw him off. You couldn’t blame him, you weren’t used to dating. You didn’t have the time to waste on it.
You couldn’t say that you hated Hawks, his awkwardness was surprisingly endearing. A part of you wished you could pretend it was your choice to be with him and throw yourself into the relationship but you couldn’t bring yourself to feel anything.
“I know that we didn’t choose this but I hope we can make the best of it.” Hawks said as you walked out of the restaurant. You looked at him standing there, his crimson wings behind him folded. It was hard not to admire them.
“Look at those wings. Stunning. You could do whatever you want with them. Fly off, anywhere, nothing could stop you. Yet you're here with me.” You said looking at him carefully. “The two of us, powerful heroes but all we really are is two birds locked in a cage.”
“I guess that’s just how it is.” He said his lighthearted demeanor gone.
“Yeah, I suppose so.”
Rationally you knew that it was in your best interest to get to know Hawks. That would only make your life easier, accepting what you knew you couldn’t change. You felt bad, you knew that Hawks was trying his best to go with it despite his lack of experience with relationships.
He gave you gifts, they were surprisingly thoughtful considering you didn’t express your interests to him. He texts you a lot, little things throughout the day. It was oddly endearing and you respected the fact that he didn’t give up despite your lack of interest.
It was a late night, you were over at Hawks apartment for dinner. He invited you over asking for your opinion on a case he was working on. You knew that he used that as an excuse to have you over but you still went with it.
His attempt to make you dinner was valiant even if you had to step in to keep him from burning the place down. It was the thought that counted.
Sitting down in the living room with him, you sipped on a glass of wine. It was rare for you to drink often considering you were always on call as a hero and you assumed Hawks was the same with how tipsy he was after a glass. Not that you could point fingers because you were the same.
“I’m sorry, you’ve tried so hard with me but I can barely manage to smile at you.” You said it seemed the solution to your numbness was at the bottom of a glass of wine. “It was so easy to pretend that I was a normal hero, that I went to a school like everyone else, like I picked my hero name like everyone else, that I had a childhood. But this, us, it makes it impossible to forget. It’s in my face every day that I wake up, every time that I see you. I can’t lie to myself anymore.”
“I accepted that I had no freedom a long time ago.” He said looking at you with sad eyes. You had never seen him look like anything other than the carefree hero the people saw. “That I’m nothing more than a weapon for people playing games that I have no interest in.”
Even without him elaborating you knew that he had been through much more than you had. Your heart sunk in your chest.
“I understand how you’re feeling. I don’t want you to feel like you owe me anything, you have enough pressure from the commission.” He said looking serious. “It’s just when I met you I thought that even if this wasn’t my choice it didn’t mean that it couldn’t be a good thing. I’ve been alone so long, it might be nice to be lonely together. I can’t think of anyone else who could understand what we’ve been through. It will take time but I think we could be happy.”
His words hit deep in your chest. It was too much. The wine, the feelings you hadn’t felt in too long. That look in his eyes just shouting at you that he needed love, he needed anything other than the hurt he had felt his whole life. The scariest part was how everything you saw in him you saw in yourself.
You stood up taking a shaky breath.
“I don’t know if I can be that for you.” You said, tears welling in your eyes. Without another word, you walked out. The cold air of the night felt good against your flushed skin. You tried to forget just how sad his honey-colored eyes looked as you walked out.
It had been days since that night and you felt bad. You wished that you could just accept things like he had but every time you thought about it you felt like you were giving in. You knew you had no other option but you still wanted to hold on to the one shred of freedom you had left and if you gave in what did you have left?
Hawks had texted you like normal since that day but you hadn’t replied. You didn’t have a good excuse, you just felt so overwhelmed.
“Pro hero Hawks was hospitalized today after a fight with a villain. The winged hero came out as the winner but was injured badly-” The voice of the reporter filled your ears and you looked up at the screen watching scenes from the fight play out. You flinched as you watched him take a particularly hard hit.
Without thinking you stood up and left, rushing to the hospital that he was in. Thankfully with your status as a hero, it was easy to get in to see other heroes at the hospital. Your heart pounded in your chest, it was complicated between the two of but it didn’t mean you weren’t concerned. In fact, you were surprised at just how scared you were. You couldn’t push away the sick feeling in your stomach.
Opening the door you peeked through to see him laying in the bed, he had bandages around his head and some that went under his hospital gown. He was asleep. You turned to find the nurse that was taking care of him.
“He’s pretty banged up but he’ll make a full recovery.” She said with a warm smile. “We can release him tomorrow if he has someone to stay with him, he needs bed rest and help with his bandages. Do you know if someone can do that for him?”
“I can take care of him.” You said without hesitation, your eagerness surprised even you.
With the knowledge that he wasn’t on his deathbed, you could relax. You stepped in quietly, pulling a chair up to his bedside. Watching the rise and fall of his chest was surprisingly relaxing. It took you a moment to realize that his wings were gone. Your heart rate spiked again as you panicked.
Had he lost his wings? Why would the nurse have not mentioned it? You stood up, placing your hand on his shoulders trying to lean him up to see what had happened.
“Hello to you too.” Hawk's voice startled you and you jumped back. “I have to say that’s a unique way to wake up. One minute I’m passing out after a fight and the next I have you tossing me around.”
“I was not tossing you!” You defended. Only Hawks could wake up after a fight and not hesitate to start teasing you. “I was just checking something.”
“Oh really?” He said. “I don’t have tail feathers if that’s what you were looking for.”
“I was not.” You said folding your arms. “I just didn’t see your wings, I-”
“My wings?” He laughed. “I should have known you only wanted to marry me for my quirk.”
There was a playful look in his eyes but there was a sad truth to the words. You appreciated his humor, trying to make the best of your situation.
“I’m just teasing.” He said before sitting up slowly. He grunted in pain and you reached out to steady him. You watched as his wings, well a smaller version of them spread out. It was kind of cute. “Once my feathers get destroyed it takes a few days for them to grow back. Just give them some time.”
“Oh. I didn’t know.” You said relaxing. “I’m glad you’re okay.”
“Me too.” He said with a smirk as he laid back.
“The nurse said you could go home tomorrow.” You explained. He quirked an eyebrow. “I’ll be here to take you home tomorrow when they release you.”
Hawks raised both his eyebrows in surprise but didn’t articulate it.
“Okay.” He said.
“Did you want me to get you food?” You asked. “I know hospital food is the worst part. Well, maybe not to the worst part of being here but it’s pretty bad.”
“You don’t have to.” He said. You thought he would take your offer up right away.
“Let me rephrase that, what do you want? I’m getting you food regardless.”
“Oh.” He paused for a moment. “Um, I like chicken.”
“Alright, I’ll be right back then.” You said with a nod. “Hold tight.”
You convinced yourself it was the guilt you felt for ignoring him the past few days driving you to dote on him but you knew that was a lie. There was something about seeing him hurt, that period of time where you didn’t know just how bad he was hurt or if he would make it. It made your stomach flip. You didn’t like it. It made you want to take care of him, it was an unfamiliar feeling.
On your way back from getting the food you stopped to get flowers, you weren’t sure if he liked them but you figured the gesture was nice enough. You spotted a small round bird plushie, you could resist getting it. There was something about it that reminded you of Hawks.
When you got back to his room he was now sitting up with the beds help watching TV. News reports showed his fight, replaying footage of it. You watched him as he carefully watched the screen.
“That was a pretty tough fight.” You said setting the food down on the table before rolling it in front of him. You grabbed his food out for him. “Makes me glad I’m a rescue hero, I don’t fight villains very often.”
“It can be rough sometimes but nothing beats the feeling after you’ve won.” He said looking at you.
“Even when you pass out right after?” You teased.
“Yeah, even then.” He said with a small laugh. He watched as you placed the flowers at his bedside. “Those are really nice, thank you.”
“Can’t compare to all the ones they’ve gotten from the fans. But you bought me flowers so I thought it was my turn.” You said. “Oh, and I got you this. I’m sure you aren’t a fan of plushies but I couldn’t resist. Looks just like you.”
You handed him the round red bird and he took it with a smirk on his face. He held it up inspecting it.
“Is this what you think of me?” He asked facing it towards you.
“Yeah, the resemblance is uncanny.” You said with a straight face. Hawks laughed, not just a chuckle or a dry laugh, he gave you a genuine laugh. The way his eyes lit up made your heart skip a beat. How could he look so handsome with all those bandages on and in a hospital gown? It wasn’t fair.
Hawks let out a grunt of pain from his excessive laughter.
“I’ll take that as a compliment.” He said after he calmed down.
Sitting down the two of you ate watching the news report on various things. You would talk here and there about different things. It was odd how things felt so different just in the span of a few days.
The next day you went to the hospital to pick up Hawks taking him back to his apartment. While it was probably nice for him to be out of there and at home the downside was the pain medication they gave him was weaker leaving him in more pain than before. He tried his best to put on that charming smile of his and play it off but you knew he was suffering.
When you got him home you helped him into his bed, setting him up with whatever he needed at his side. You tidied up around his house even though it was pretty clean. You wondered if he had a house cleaner or maybe it was just because he wasn’t home very often. Maybe he put those feathers to work.
Around the late afternoon, you started working on dinner, chicken soup. You knew that he wasn’t sick per se but it was still a healthy dish that would help him recover. You ate with him in his room, cleaning up after dinner.
Once you were done with that you figured his bandages would need changing. You had all the supplies you needed to do so and you were familiar enough with first aid. Your nerves were still through the roof. You knocked on his door before entering.
“I figured you’d want to change them before bed.” You said holding up the roll of gauze you had in your hand.
“That would be nice.” He said sitting up from his position leaning against the pillows with a wince. He turned off the TV leaving the room in silence. A part of you wished he would have left it on so you could distract yourself with something.
You watched as he tried to pull his shirt off, you looked away but glanced back when you heard a grunt of pain.
“Here,” You said grabbing his white shirt from the bottom and pulling it over his head. It took everything in you to keep warmth from blossoming in your cheeks.
It sounded like a simple task, trying to stay professional as you took his bandages off revealing his lean, toned body but in reality, it was a lot harder than anticipated. You did everything you could to keep yourself from looking flustered, you just knew that he would tease you endlessly if he caught on.
Placing the bloodied bandages aside you grabbed the fresh ones. You carefully examined his wounds, making sure that they looked like they were healing right. The gash in his side was deep but looked like it was beginning to heal, the skin that spanned his torso was different shades of purple and black. You winced just looking at it. It made you sad, it had to be hurting him even while he wasn’t moving yet with the way he smiled and teased you it didn’t seem like he was injured this badly.
Gently, you wrapped the gauze around his torso turning your head when you had to get to close to him. You could feel his eyes on you, watching your every move carefully. It made you nervous, you tried not to mess up what you were doing.
Once you finished with that you moved to the gash across his forehead at his hairline. His golden locks had fallen forward and in front of the wound. Soft as you could manage, you brushed the back of your hand across his skin moving the hair out of the way. You noticed how his eyes closed as you did this. For this wound you fished a gauze pad out of your first aid kit, taping it onto his forehead so he wouldn’t have to have the bandages around his head.
“Anything else I can do for you?” You asked. “Do you want me to help you brush your teeth or anything before bed?”
Hawks eyes fluttered open, you tried not to get pulled into them. A soft smile spread across his lips.
“I can manage that.” He said. “Thank you.”
It took everything in you to not run your hands through his hair as you looked down at him.
“I’ll see you tomorrow then?” He questioned.
“I was going to spend the night on the couch if you don’t mind.” You explained gesturing towards his living room.
“Oh.” He said looking taken aback. “Yeah, that’s fine. You know you don’t have to.
“It’s okay, I took the time off to help you. I just thought I’d stay over in case you need anything at night.” You explained. A moment of silence passed and you nodded before turning to head to the living room to get ready for bed.
Hawks grabbed your wrist before you could get too far away.
“You can sleep in my bed. The couch isn’t comfortable. To be honest I barely even sit on it, I’m not home that much.” He laughed. “My beds really big, you can pretend I’m not even here.” He said looking over. He wasn’t wrong the bed was giant, far more than a single person needed but you supposed he didn’t put a lot of thought into his furniture.
The thought of sharing a bed with Hawks made your heart beat fast. You knew that he wasn’t being a creep, you trusted him. You didn’t realize you trusted him until this moment. You supposed that was something. You knew he was being nice by offering for you to sleep in the bed but you couldn’t help but wonder if he had any other motive.
You nodded, leaving to get ready for bed. You changed into something more comfortable before doing your nightly routine and making sure everything was put away and turned off before returning to his room.
The TV was still off and Hawks now laid down with his head on the pillow. He looked stiff, you supposed there weren’t many options when you were injured that much. His small wings splayed under him, looking a little more filled out today than they had been yesterday.
You turned off the main light leaving the bedside lamp as the only source before climbing into bed. You laid down at the edge, you felt so awkward. It wasn’t your bed and you were laying next to Hawks, even if there was a good amount of space between the two of you.
“Thank you.” He said, his gaze remaining on the ceiling. “You didn’t have to do this.”
“I wanted to.” You said, glancing over at him. His expression looked off, gone was the charming hero replaced by someone more vulnerable. A few moments of silence passed and for a moment you wondered if he had fallen asleep quickly.
“Usually when I get hurt this bad I just end up staying in the hospital.” He said in a small voice. “I’ve never had someone take care of me.”
The hint of shakiness in his voice as he told you that nearly broke your heart. In one moment Hawks went from being the number two hero that everyone knew and loved to a small boy who just needed to be taken care of. You looked over at him turning on your side.
“Well, you’ll always have someone to take care of you now.” You said. In one way it was a joke mirroring the ones he had made about your arranged marriage but a part of you meant that genuinely. In one moment Hawks had broken down the walls you had built to hold onto the last shred of your freedom. The weird part was you felt freer now than you had before.
After the time you spent taking care of Hawks you couldn’t deny that you started to feel something for him. It was subtle at first. It began with you replying to his texts and not just passively. Then you found yourself excited for said texts and whenever you got to see him. Then you started texting him first and making plans to spend time with him
Every once and a while you would feel bad, feel like being interested in him was giving up your freedom. Did you really want to deprive yourself of the one happiness you would be allowed in your circumstance?
One night you were returning home from work, you were exhausted it had been a long day and all you wanted to do was collapse on your bed. You smiled as you replied to a text from Hawks watching into your bedroom.
You heard something from the corner of your room, as you turned to it you saw a dark figure approaching you before everything went dark.
Hawks didn’t consider himself a needy person. He had been alone so long he didn’t even know what it was like to have someone care about him other than for their own personal use of him. Then you came into his life, albeit not willingly but you were both on the same page with that. Ever since his injury the two of you had become so close. He enjoyed it a lot more than he would like to admit.
Hawks wasn’t the type of person to overreact when someone didn’t text him back but it seemed you were the exception to that. You had been in the middle of texting him about your day when you stopped.
He paced the house for an hour before he gave into his concerns. It wouldn’t hurt to fly over to your place, it wasn’t fair. He could drop in on your balcony and just make sure everything was alright.
Your apartment was dark, the blinds nearly closed. You wouldn’t have fallen asleep, you had just gotten home. He was sure you didn’t even have time to sit down much less doze off. He peered through the space in the blinds.
Red filled his vision when he spotted you tied to a chair, a man standing over you. Before he could think better of it he smashed through the glass doors with his wings and pinned the man to the ground in one fell swoop.
The feather he had against the man's neck dug into his skin, a trail of red starting. He had never felt more enraged in his life. How could someone touch his girl? How could someone even think of hurting her? He pressed the feather down and the man let out a yelp of pain.
Then he heard a whimper escape you. He let up on his pressure turning to look at you. Sitting there a rag tied around your mouth, tears running down your face. He had never seen you look so upset. It tore his heart apart. Suddenly he didn’t care about the man on the ground. He shot his smaller red feathers into the edges of his clothes pinning him down with no escape before standing up and moving to your side.
Hawks kneeled at your feet, his feathers moving to cut the ropes that kept you on the chair. His hands moved to your face holding you gently between his hands.
“Are you okay, little bird?” He asked, his voice frantic. He hadn’t even noticed he let the nickname slip.
“I-I’m okay.” You said, your hands moving to hold onto his biceps. He could feel the way you were trembling. “You came for me.”
“Of course I did, I’ll always be here for you.” He said. “I’m sorry I didn’t get here sooner.”
Hawks glanced back at the man on the floor. He pulled his phone out calling for someone to pick him up and take him away. Once he did he turned his attention back to you.
“I’m going to pick you up now and I’m going to take you to my place. Is that okay?” He asked. You nodded and he didn’t hesitate to pick you up in his arms.
Flying with Hawks was something you had imagines but nothing compared to actually doing it. The wing through your hair, the city lights passing you by. His speed and elegance was incredible. Even with the scare, you had tonight you could appreciate it. It felt like a dream.
The way your cheek rested against his shoulder, brushing against the fur of his coat. The way you fit in his arms like you were made to, it was nice being held by him.
As his feet hit the ground of his balcony lightly you came back from that dream. The fear that you experienced tonight still in your veins. He placed you on his couch, it really was uncomfortable, before standing in front of you. You hadn’t even realized that he grabbed a bag of stuff from your apartment till he sat it down next to you.
“Are you hungry or thirsty? Do you need anything? What do you need?” He said. It was funny seeing him so unsure of what to do.
“I’m just tired, I want to take a shower and sleep.” You told him. He nodded.
“Are you hurt?” He asked looking you over.
Your head throbbed from the man knocking you out and your wrists were sore from where he tied you down. Other than that you were okay.
“I could use some pain killers for a headache but I’m fine.” You told him.
Hawks quickly retrieved you some medicine and a glass of water. You took it thankfully before you went to take a shower. It was amazing how a shower could make things feel so much better. In your favorite pajamas feeling clean and refreshed it was easy to forget what had happened.
That was until you were finishing getting ready to go to bed. You climbed into bed, feeling less awkward than your last stay but still keeping to your side of the bed.
It was all too easy to hear the man’s voice in your head as you started up at the ceiling. Blaming you for not saving his family in the recent incident in the city. You had tried so hard to get everyone to safety but you couldn’t always save everyone. You knew you couldn’t save everyone but it didn’t keep you from blaming yourself. It didn’t help when you had the loved one of the people you lost screaming that at you.
Tears streamed down your face and silent sobs wracked your body. You didn’t even notice when the bed had moved under Hawk's weight. Not until he was leaning over you.
“Hey, hey.” He cooed at you, his hand gently and slowly reaching toward you to wipe away your tears. “Can I hold you?”
You barely had to nod before you were in his arms, he pulled you onto him as he laid down. He tucked you chin into his neck as he ran his hand down your back, keeping you close.
“You can tell me about it if you want to or I can just hold you until you feel better.” He whispered. “Just tell me what you need, anything.”
“His family died in the accident the other week.” You said. “I didn’t save everyone, I should have been able to. What kind of rescue hero loses peo-”
“Even if you did everything right, you’re going to lose people.” Hawks interrupted. “It’s not fair, not to them, not to their family, not to you, not to anyone. That man was grieving and he took it out on the wrong person. You’re an amazing hero and I won’t ever let you forget that, not even if I have to say it a million times.”
“Thank you, Hawks.” You said, your sobs quieting.
“Keigo. Call me Keigo.” He said. You leaned up looking at him, his golden eyes rested so softly on you. “They took my name away when they gave me the name Hawks. They told me to forget it. But I want you to know, to use it. You have a piece of me that I never thought anyone would have, hell I didn’t even know it existed until you came along. You shouldn’t have to call me what everyone else does.”
Blinking up at him you processed everything he just said to you. You wondered if it was even possible to process everything he just said to you. The weirdest part was you felt the same. Hawks- no, Keigo had a piece of you that no one else had. He made you feel things you had never felt before.
“Thank you, Keigo.” You said, pressing your face back into the crook of his neck. Holding him close you felt safe. Like nothing could ever hurt you. The way his strong arms wrapped around you, one hand’s movements soothing you. The way his wings wrapped around the both of you, shielding you from anything bad that could ever happen to you.
After that Keigo insisted you move in. It made sense considering your future plans. If you could call them plans. You could tell Keigo would be at ease knowing you were safe, he even offered to turn the extra room into your own bedroom. You wouldn’t even pretend to be against the idea. The thought of sharing a homemade you feel safe. And as much as you hated to admit it you didn’t mind sharing a room with him, not after you had the best sleep you could recall in years in his arms.
Living with Keigo was nice, at least when he was home. Work kept him busier than you which left you alone time which you appreciated. You started cooking for him, the look on his face when he got home and smelled dinner was priceless. You had never seen someone enjoy your food more. The way he would compliment it on and on made you laugh.
You were happier than you had ever been and your life had never felt more normal. But it wasn’t and as much as you enjoyed things with Keigo you couldn’t forget the shadow looming over you. Even if you cared for him, even if you were okay with marrying him it didn’t take away the fact that the commission wanted you to have children so they could take them away.
You weren’t even sure if you wanted kids but you knew if you did have them you didn’t want them being taken away from you and condemned to the same fate as you.
Keigo was keeping something from you and you didn’t want to push him but you did want to know.
It was dark in your bedroom, Keigo’s room. The sound of quiet cries had woken you up. Looking over you saw Keigo twitching in his sleep. You leaned over him, softly touching his shoulder trying to rouse him from his nightmare.
He sat up with a gasp, scaring you as you pulled back. His wings spread out and puffed up as he looked around his gaze settling on you.
“You’re okay.” He breathed out pulling you into his arms. He shoved his head into the crook of your shoulder, breathing in your scent. “Oh my god, you’re okay.”
“Keigo, I’m right here. It was just a bad dream.” You told him, running your hands through his hair trying to calm him down. “What happened?”
“They took you, they hurt you.” His words came out rushed. “You were- I think you were dead.” His hands gripped into the back of your shirt.
“I’m right here, I’m alive.” You told him, holding him tighter. “Who took me? That guy?”
Maybe he was having a nightmare about the man who had tied you up in your apartment.
“I need to tell you something.” He said quietly leaning back so he could look you in the eyes. “I don’t want you to look at me differently but I don’t want you to get hurt.”
“Kei, I won’t look at you differently. I couldn’t.” You said holding his cheek in your palm.
“I’m a double agent, the hero commission wanted me to spy on the league of villains.” He said. “I’ve done horrible things, I- I’ve killed people.”
Keigo looked heartbroken, his eyes tearing up. He looked at you as if you were going to leave. It made sense, the small things you had noticed but were never enough for you to bring up. It all fit into what he told you. It didn’t shock you that the commission would force him into that.
“It’s not your fault, you didn’t have a choice.” You told him. He looked at you in disbelief.
“It doesn’t change what I did.” He said.
“I’m not going to leave, I don’t hate you.” You told him.
Tugging him closer you held him close, wishing that you could make him feel better. You would give anything to take his pain away. Once he calmed down more the both of you started talking about your childhood being raised by the commission. There were a lot of similarities but Keigo had been put through more, turned into a weapon.
Sitting so close to him you were practically on his lap. Your faces were so close, you couldn’t stop looking at his lips. Your gaze would flicker down before returning to his golden eyes. You could feel the pull between the two of you, all those feelings that ran between you swelling up.
“Please just kiss me already.” He whispered and you gave a soft nod. Keigo grabbed the sides of your face pulling you in for a passionate kiss. It was amazing, as you grew closer and closer to him you had imagined kissing him before but this was far better than those daydreams.
Pulling back both of you were breathless, staring at each other with dumb smiles on your faces.
“Kiss me again.” You said before he pulled you back again, his hands moving to your waist.
“I know we didn’t choose each other but there isn’t anyone else who could compare to you, if I could pick anyone in the world to be here with me I would pick you every time. I feel things I’ve never felt before with you. I- I love you.” He said, his thumb brushing your cheek.
“I love you too Keigo, you’re perfect for me.” You said. “I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
Keigo went in for another kiss before pulling you to lay down with him on the bed.
“We should run away.” You said as you laid there wrapped in his arms. “Run away where the commission can’t reach us and never look back.”
“Do you think we could manage it? What if they found us?” He said. “We couldn’t be heroes anymore.”
“Haven’t we done enough? How much are we helping by supporting the commission?”
There was a silence as Keigo thought about it.
“I don’t know.” He said, rubbing your back. “Let’s think about it more.”
Weeks passed and it was nice feeling like a real couple with Keigo after you had admitted your feelings for each other. But it didn’t change the fact that the commission still weighed on you. What they had done to you, what they had done to Keigo angered you more than ever. Then they put him in more danger working with the league.
It wasn’t until one day Keigo came home. You knew when he walked in it had been a bad day. He was off. Sitting down next to you he was silent. You looked over at him and he had a blank look on his face.
“I haven’t been able to stop thinking about what you said.” He said quietly. “These wings and for what? I don’t have freedom. You’re right we should run away.”
“Really?” You questioned.
“Yes. I want to be with you by my own choice, I want to marry you because I love you not because we’re being forced. I want to start a family with you and raise our children with the love and childhood we didn’t get to have. I don’t want to be a pawn for them, a weapon. I want to be free.”
“Keigo Takami, will you run away and marry me?” You said taking his hands in yours.
“Nothing would make me happier.” He smiled so brightly it nearly stopped your heart. Happy tears welled in your eyes as you nearly tackled him with a hug.
The two of you traveled anywhere and everywhere you had always wanted to see, you ate all the food you wanted to try and saw everything the world had to offer. Walking along the old streets of Paris hand in hand with Keigo it felt like a dream. How had you come this far? You never thought you could be so free and happy.
Once you grew tired of traveling the two of you bought a house in your favorite place, you knew it was your favorite because you had been so many places at this point. It was secluded and far away from the commission.
Laying on a blanket in the grass of your backyard next to Keigo, you enjoyed the breeze and the sunlight that was just barely warm through the chilly air. Your head rested on his arm as the both of you watched fluffy white clouds float by.
Looking over you caught him staring at you. You smiled at him rolling closer to him leaning down. You brushed your lips against his, smiling against them.
“I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.” You said, hand brushing through his hair.
“Nor would I.” He said before he flipped your positions and smothered you in kisses as you giggled under his attack.
Keigo was familiar with few freedoms in his life. Ever since he met you that all started to change. You should have been just another demonstration of how he lacked any choice but you ended up being the reason he was set free. And you were the reason he was happier than he had ever been in his whole life.

Falling for you ( Falling from Grace) Jungkookx OC ( Complete)
Chapter 1
[ Read the rest here : Chapter 8 ( Final)
]
Rated : 18 +
Warning : . Fuck buddies? Or rather enemies that have sex. They just really hate each other but also can’t keep their hands off each other.
Sweat dotted the edge of my hairline and I felt like my entire body was on fire. I was wet, so fucking wet and the sound of him ramming into me, over and over again was absolutely obscene in the quiet of the bedroom. I was on my back, a thin black tie cutting off my vision and all I could feel was the steady staccato of his dick pounding into me.
“Oh fuck.. Fuck...Just like that Jungkook fuck....”
I could barely recognize my own voice. Wrecked and ruined, breathy and almost a whine.
My shoulders ached from being stretched up, wrists almost numb from the handcuffs that held my body up to the head board. I felt like my shoulders were gonna pop out and I panted, fuming at him internally because he’d done it on purpose, locked the handcuffs a rung higher than usual which meant that I wasn’t lying comfortably on the bed as usual .
“Look at you.... look so fucking filthy like this angel....” He smirked down at me, fingers like a vice around my waist holding me up and almost off the bed as he pounded into me, each thrust carrying the entire weight of his muscled body. It hurt so bad it felt good. My thighs ached from where they stayed wrapped around his slim waist.
“Fuck...don’t stop...” I felt my head fall back, the ache in my back intensifying. I was so close....so fucking close, I could feel the heat as it built up, licking its way up my spine,  The angle was perfect, his cock had a slight curve to it when he was fully hard and that just meant that he managed to hit my sweet spot every time he pistoned in.
And God we’d been at this for so long now... almost a whole damn hour and my senses were frayed, my body so sensitive and wrung out that all I wanted to do was cum.
So, of course Jungkook being the supreme asshole that he was, chose that moment to stop moving completely.
My heart jumped to my throat in panic, my body lifting off the bed, chasing friction and his hold on my waist tightened, so much that I was sure he had bruised me.
“Hmm.... Don’t think you’re in any position to be telling me what to do, baby....” He drawled, voice husky in a way that made my ache worse.
“What- no..wait you fucking asshole ...” I screamed knowing what was coming and refusing to accept it. Fuck i hated him... Fuck Fuck....
He gripped my waist and slid forward again , but instead of sliding in he slotted his cock between my thighs, pulling my legs together so he could fuck into the gap and yes, it was really fucking hot but I was so close....I needed him inside me ......
“Please....Jungkook please don’t...” I begged, dignity forgotten because I was not a fan of delayed gratification.
“Shush shush.....What’d I say about taking what I give you.....and to be fucking honest, I’m not sure you really like my dick all that much...” He said, sounding thoughtful and my head swam in confusing. What the fuck was he even on about?
“What? Are you kidding me? I let you fuck me almost every damn night why would you-”
“So why’d you go have dinner with Namjoon hyung?” He pinched my nipples', both at the same time, twisting and pulling till I whines, eyes watering enough to soak the silk of his tie.
“What -- That’s... We’re not fucking dating....I can have dinner with who I want....” I snarled in disbelief, tugging fruitlessly on the handcuffs. Why the fuck had I agreed to this??
“Not after cancelling on me, you can’t... And certainly not with my brother, angel..” Jungkook snarled right back and I flinched when I felt his hand come down near my face. For one horrifying moment I thought he was going to slap me but what he did was rip the blindfold off me. Momentarily still blinded, I blinked till he came into focus and felt that familiar and unwelcome swooping sense of attraction.
Jeon Jungkook with his long midnight hair and ivory skin. Doe eyes that carried entire galaxies in them and those soft, thin lips that smirked at the drop of a hat.
 Fuck him... Fuck him for being so fucking attractive that my heart stopped every time I saw him.
He was staring at me and the raging anger on his face really shouldn’t make me wetter but it did. I wanted to sob as my entire body clenched, aching empty and desperate to be filled again.
“You sent me a fucking dick pic... “ I whined in despair. “ You were literally in the office when I was at dinner with him , how the fuck was I supposed to know you wanted to see me....!!!?”
Jungkook reached down and began stroking himself and I felt my eyes widen in disbelief.
“Jungkook....” I warned, feeling the desperation morph into genuine anger now.
“I wanted you to suck me off in my office. Isn’t that part of what my dad pays you for?” He drawled and I felt fury bloom. Jungkook knew just the right words to say, whether he wanted to turn me on or make me feel murderous....
He scooted forward , straddling my chest and I bucked hard, trying to throw him off but it was fucking impossible. I flinched when he slipped a palm under my head, gripping my hair and yanking my head up till his cock pressed up against my lips.
“You owe me a blow job, princess.....gonna open up?” He gripped my hair harder and the pain made me keen.
“If you stick your dick in my mouth I will bite it off....” I growled, resisting the urge to thrash because it only made my scalp hurt more. He laughed at that and I stared at him, the pink of his dick right on my lips and for a moment I almost had a pavlovian response to it. Almost opened my mouth and took the hard delicious length of it into my warm mouth.
Shaking my head just enough to dislodge the head off my lips, I glared at him , my stomach clenching as he stared down at me, wicked dark eyes gleaming with satisfaction and pretty red lips parted in that sexy infuriating smirk of his. He gripped himself harder, groaning as his eyes rolled back a bit at the stimulation. I stared at how his long fingers wrapped around his length , the way he was so shameless in chasing his pleasure. His thumb traced the head, finger dipping lightly into his slit and he moaned, almost shuddering at the sensation. I wanted nothing more to touch myself, at least relieve some of the excruciating pressure between my legs but Jungkook had planned this, had put me in handcuffs fully intending to leave me high and dry .
I stared at him and he glanced back, his face momentarily open in pleasure, lips spit slicked and parted and tongue poking out as he let out a breathy, ‘ fuck’ and i knew he was close.
He always looked like a fallen angel when he was close to his orgasm. Fucking beautiful son of a bitch.
But no matter how gorgeous he was, Jeon Jungkook was an incorrigible jerk and I knew exactly what he was gonna do,.
I pursed my lips shut and turned my head away when he came , snarling when the hot wetness coated my face. Jungkook always came like a fucking hose and I could feel globs of it cling to my face, even my fucking eyelashes.
When I turned back , snarling and ready to unload on him, he was already crawling away, but not before scooping up the last of his release on his fingers and reaching down to grip my cheeks with enough force to get my mouth open.
I whimpered when he stuck his finger in, the familiar taste of his cum only making my body thrum in desperation. I hated him. Hated him so fucking much.
“Taste good, baby?” He drawled softly, chasing his fingers with his tongue and licking into my mouth, swirling his cum all over my tongue with his.
“My filthy little slut...” He whispered against my lips, voice tinged with so much feigned fondness that I nearly bit his lip.
“Take the handcuffs off, you fucker.” I growled, watching as he slipped on his boxer brief and his jeans. I fully intended to grab the vibrator on my desk and get myself off the minute he let me out of the handcuffs.
And next time....
oh, boy next time Jungkook was going to be on his knees begging me to let him cum....
He was sweaty and looked like a mess but he never stayed around long enough to even take a shower. Now that I knew I wasn’t getting fucked my attraction for him was gone, replaced by homicidal fury.
“Hmm.... I’ll think about it.” He shrugged, reaching for the white button down on the floor.
My eyes nearly bugged out.
“What the fuck do you mean you’ll think about it?” I snarled.
“Your sister told me she’ll be dropping by at around five today..... I’ll leave the key on the dining tanle. She’ll help you out...” He grinned at me wide and I felt my heart drop through my throat.
I spluttered as he dangled the key tauntingly , whistling as he moved to the door.
“THAT’S A WHOLE TWO HOURS AWAY JEON JUNGKOOK YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE!!!!”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Do I even want to know?” My sister stared at me in honest disgust and I knew I must’ve looked a sight , with dried cum all over my face. But i was barely listening to her. I knew exactly what I had to do....Knew exactly what I could do to have Jeon Jungkook frothing at the mouth.
“Areum? Are you listening..?” She called out when I raced to the bathroom. I quickly turned on the hot water , grabbing a washcloth to scrub at my face. Jungkook was going to regret this.
When I finished taking a shower, scrubbing myself clean and stepped back out, my sister was airing out the room.
“Mom has been talking about setting you up with people and here you are , whoring around with that Jeon brat....” She rolled her eyes at me but I ignored her, moving to the closet with my lingerie.
My mother had high hopes for me. After blowing through my dad’s entire legacy with her fancy clothes and expensive bags, she was now panicking. She wanted me to marry big and granted, Jeon Jungkook came from a filthy rich family but he was still the prodigal son and his father made it plenty clear that unless he danced to the older man’s tune, he would be out without a penny to his name.
But that was none of my business. I wasn’t going to marry the dude. I didn’t even  like  him.
All i really cared about was getting him back for leaving me unsatisfied today.
 I grabbed the most scandalous piece I had, black and completely sheer. It left absolutely nothing to the imagination and I felt saliva pooling at the back of my throat just thinking about how Jungkook would react to this. The first time I had worn it, he had held me up against the wall and fucked me senseless.
“Why are you here anyway?” I asked my sister as she began picking up the different pieces of clothing scattered all over the room, dropping them in the laundry basket on her hip.
“Can’t I just come check on my beautiful baby sister? “ She smiled and I rolled my eyes .
Hana was the perfect daughter in every way. She was a professional artist, married to the gorgeously successful surgeon, Dr. Kim Seokjin who happened to own the largest hospital in the country.
And it was hard to hate her because she had endless patience for my shenanigans'. Because to be honest, this wasn’t the first time she had walked in on me lying debauched, courtesy Jeon fucking Jungkook.
Which brought me to my current mission.
“Okay. I’m fine. I’m actually on my way out so you can either crash here for a while or you can leave...” i waved dismissively, running to the bathroom to slip the dress on.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I rang the door bell again, feeling my body thrum with impatience. Why the fuck wasn’t he answering the damned door? I was wearing simple summer dress. The fastest thing I could take off.
“Areum?” Namjoon’s surprised face barely registered on my face. He was in his sweatpants with a glass bowl filled with chips and he looked completely thrown by my presence.
 I shouldered past him, moving to stand in the middle of the living room.
“Is everything okay? What’s wro-”
I grabbed the hem of the dress pulling it over my head and tossing it away on the couch.
Namjoon dropped the bowl and if it weren't for the ridiculously thick fur rug underneath us, the thing would have shattered to a million pieces.
His eyes were wide in disbelief, mouth slack in shock as he stared at me and i could actually see his dick swelling in hi sweatpants as I stood in the completely see through babydoll.
“Where’s the bedroom?”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
‘Fuck, yeah...that feels so fucking good...” Namjoon growled , gripping my waist as I rode him, his thick cock stretching me out so good that I moaned in relief. Stupid fucking Jeon Jungkook.... Namjoon wasn’t bad per se but he didn’t know the nuances of what I liked. Jungkook had this sinful way of rolling his hips up into mine when I rode him and it always made me see stars. But no matter....this wasn’t the main reason I was here.
“Don’t cum... I want you to come on my face .” I whispered softly and Namjoon shuddered, grip on my waist tightening.
“Fuck..yeah,.yeah,.,.,okay,,.,anything you say.,...” He stuttered.
I reached down to rub my clit because I wanted to cum too and I sighed in sweet blessed relief as my orgasm washed over me, my walls clenching around Namjoon as I rode it out.
“Fuck, I’m close...” Namjoon whispered and i clambered off him to kneel between his legs.
“Take a picture.” I grabbed my phone and turned on the camera , pressing it into his hands.
“Wh- What?” His pacing faltered and I didn’t let him think too much , lest he change his mind...
“I want a picture of me choking on your cock , Joon oppa.... A picture with you painting my face with cum..please...please...” I blinked up at him through my wet lashes and I could almost see his mind disintegrating at the visual.
“ Shit okay.... okay...”
I wrapped my lips around his cock, sucking quickly and taking him in deep, my mind swimming with glee as he clicked away.
“Fuck, I’m cumming...” Namjoon began and I pulled away, opening my mouth, sticking my tongue out just as he came , making sure I stared straight into the camera as the first few spurts hit me, right across my tongue. I stuck a finger in my mouth, making a show of sucking it and Namjoon groaned, clicking away more pictures.
“Fuck...tell me I can get these pictures...” He moaned and I laughed, crawling up to kiss him.
“Sure baby.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I called Jungkook first, simply to give him a chance to redeem himself.
The thing with Namjoon was impulsive and  while i didn’t regret it per se , i didn’t want to drag Namjoon into this without just cause.
“what the fuck do you want?” Jungkook’s annoyed voice made my hackles rise.
“A fucking apology for starters.” I snarled into the phone. The fucking audacity!!!
“Listen , I’m on the way to Sana’s place.... So I don’t have time for your toddler tantrums. I’m hanging up”
And he actually hung up.
I stared at the phone, shaking in disbelief.
I quickly flipped through the photos I’d taken , trying to find the one that would make him furious enough to ditch his fuck for the night. Sana? Who the fuck was she anyway>?
I picked the one that was most obscene, you could see my sheer bodice, my nipples and the curve of my breasts, Namjoon’s cock resting against my tongue, spurts of his cum over my tongue and my cheek bones and the highlight- my eyes staring right at the camera in defiance.
Perfect.
Nothing riled Jungkook up more than defiance.
I opened snapchat , sending him the pic.
I stared at the caption in satisfaction.
 Your brother tasted better.
I relaxed against the pillows, glancing at the clock over the door. It was a little past eleven but knowing Jungkook.... he’d be here within the hour. He had a key to my apartment so I locked the bedroom instead.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Kim Areum!!!!!!!!” Jungkook’s voice rang through the apartment rousing me from my nap. I blinked groggily and stared at the mirror.
11.25 PM.
I felt a smile creep into my face. A new record.
The door into my bedroom shook on its hinges as he knocked on it. Hard. I moved to stand close to the door , reveling in the fact that Jungkook was on the other side, likely losing his everloving shit .
“I’m too tired, Jungkook...your brother really put me through the wringer...” I whined piteously and the knocking stopped.
“Open the motherfucking door, Areum or I’m gonna fuck you so hard its gonna  put you in a fucking wheelchair .....” He growled.
I smiled.
“Good night Jungkook. Oh and you better leave soon...my sister is sleeping in the guest bedroom.”
Ignoring his frustrated snarl , I turned the lights off.
Kim Areum- 1.
Jeon Jungkook -0
I'm (Not) Okay
i saw this text post & my brain went brrrrr but what if with devin (+ some other tweaks) i didn't proofread this y'all can just have some sad fluff red dead redemption | arthur morgan & devin clarke (oc) 1,083 words no warnings enjoy!! reblogs > likes!! patreon ✨ ko-fi
Today was turning out to be one of those days. Dutch was being impossible, Micah was insufferable as always, Bill was an idiot… It was all a little much. Days like these seemed to be happening more frequently. Something that Dutch had said (or yelled) to him earlier was lingering in his mind. Normally, Arthur didn’t let anything anyone else said get to him––not really––but Dutch’s words were a special type of cruel today. Arthur tried to reason that the old man was under a lot of stress with keeping this gang together, but that excuse just wasn’t holding water today.
They were all under a lot of stress right now, dammit!
Arthur sighed, a hand to his brow, and sat down at the base of an old tree just beyond the camp’s edge. He peered through his fingers, looking at the glassy surface of the lake. Tiny waves lapped gently at its shores. It looked calm, at a glance, but he noticed little disturbances in the surface too, where fish congregated to do… whatever it was fish did.
Behind him, he heard a soft snap that made him jump. Instinctively Arthur reached for his gun, fingers gripping the handle tight, but they loosened when he spotted a deer bouncing through the undergrowth. Tailing close behind it was a little fawn, its tawny pelt dappled with white spots. Arthur returned his gaze to the lake with an exasperated sigh. Fool, he called himself. It was just a couple of deer. Fool.
“Arthur?”
Again, the gunslinger jumped, though he didn’t move for his weapon this time. He paused for a moment, then sighed even harder than before. “Miss Devin,” he answered. With his acknowledgement, the little borrower pushed their way between the blades of grass that sheltered them. Just seeing them brightened Arthur’s mood, if only marginally. “What are you doin’ sneakin’ up on me, hm?”
Devin rolled their eyes and made their way closer. “I sneak up on everyone. It’s what borrowers do, you know. We sneak.”
“That you do,” he said with a chuckle. He remained still as Devin reached his hip and started to climb, using his gun belt and creases in his pants to pull themself up. A part of him thought to help them up––the gentleman part of him––but he opted not to. Devin took pride in their own independence and competence; he didn’t want to risk offending them with gestures that could suggest anything contrary (even if he never meant them that way). “What brings you out here?” He asks once they reach the top of his thigh.
“I could ask you the same,” they say. “I saw you out here all alone. Thought you looked… glum.”
Arthur tried to play off their concern with another chuckle, though this one was weaker, more hollow. He averted his eyes and forced an unconvincing smile. “Naw, I’m… I just needed a moment to myself is all.”
“Oh. I can leave then, if you––”
“You’re fine,” he said quickly, cutting them off. Unconsciously he brought his hand up behind them, his fingertips just barely brushing their arm. It wasn’t an effort to trap them, but an invite to stay. Devin took a step backward, leaning into the bend of his fingers. They studied his face, thoughtful, knowing.
“Are you okay, Arthur?” They asked him. It was a rhetorical question, a soft invitation of their own. It caught Arthur off guard. He met their eyes and lifted his brow.
Of course, Miss Devin. That was what he wanted to say. That was what he would normally say to most anyone else. But those dismissive words wouldn’t form in his mouth. He swallowed and tightened his jaw, trying to keep his emotions in check. He felt pathetic.
Devin looped an arm around his ring finger and hugged it to their chest. His other fingers followed suit, gently curling around them in a loose fist. It wasn’t restrictive at all, but it did hide them from view; only the soft tickle of their hair, the faint pressure in their touch, and the warmth from their little body against his skin told him that they were there. They were real.
Arthur felt a lump forming in his throat. His breath was starting to shake. “No, Miss Devin,” he said, voice kept to a whisper for fear that it might crack, “I… I don’t think I am.” Moisture gathered in his eyes, almost unfamiliar to him at this point. He swiped it away with his free thumb. In this life, he couldn’t afford to cry. He couldn’t afford to be vulnerable.
Right?
But Devin couldn’t either, and yet, here they were. Here they were with their life quite literally in his hand. They were one of the strongest people he knew, and they let themself be vulnerable with him.
“Closer,” Devin said. Arthur’s fist tightened just slightly, enough to secure them. He lifted them up, his other hand cupping beneath them, and brought them nearer to his chest. “Closer,” they said again, and he brought them higher, until the two of them were eye-level.
For a long moment, they stared at each other, neither of them saying anything. They didn’t need to. Devin could read him like a book. Arthur’s vision was starting to blur under the rising moisture. He squeezed his eyes shut and tipped his head forward, bringing his forehead to theirs. Devin’s body was small, but their presence was bigger than ever. For once, Arthur was feeling overwhelmed, lost in them. They drew a hand over his brow, offering comfort as best they could. To them, it seemed like a small, perhaps insignificant gesture; but to Arthur, it meant more than they could imagine.
“You don’t always have to be the big, bad gunslinger,” they said. Arthur pursed his lips. He didn’t quite believe that, but he appreciated their words nevertheless. He leaned a bit more into their touch, bringing the bridge of his nose to their chest. “I wish I could do more for you, Arthur. I… I really do.”
Arthur huffed softly, something akin to a laugh. “Miss Devin,” he said, “you do plenty for me n’ more.”
They rubbed along the bridge of his nose, tiny hands feeling the faint creases where it had been broken and straightened in times past. Their lips, almost imperceptible, pressed to his brow, right between his eyes. Arthur’s eyelashes fluttered.
He breathed out, much heavier, much calmer, and let the little borrower comfort him.
Here’s my first crack at some Donna x pre-transitioned ftm!reader content to get the ball rolling with her reaction to you coming out, and I do warn you, this is me answering asks before having a chance to buy and play the game myself (I like hard copies sue me) so some things might not be right or ooc, like the fact I have Angie refer to Donna as her “mom” *shrug*
TW: mentioning of slight dysphoria
Make Me Feel Alive
The fog that acted as a fine layer that obscured the vision of the ground perfectly reflected the gloomy ache that lodged itself painfully in your chest, nearly making it impossible to breathe past. Your forehead lightly rested against the cool windowpane as you stared unseeingly out into the misty valley below. You weren’t feeling very comfortable today and you couldn’t stand to look at your reflection. It had your smile feeling forced and it didn’t feel right on your face at all.
You couldn’t slip, not in front of Donna, not when you feared what she would think of you. When you first had been sent to Donna as punishment straight from the hand of Mother Miranda, she had been cold and distant, as if your presence wasn’t appreciated nor was it a nuisance; she just... didn’t really acknowledge you at all as you tended to House Beneviento. That left one other... source of company for you to get acquainted with in her noticeable absence.
You shuddered at the thought of Angie finding out that you didn’t feel “normal”, and the onslaught that you would endure for it. The doll seemed to always be attached to your leg, and whether that was a good thing or a bad thing, you weren’t certain of yet. The little thing seemed obsessed with you, and Donna was quick to notice that fact. Now, you had her full attention.
“Angie does not grow attached to guests... and yet...”
It was the first words she had uttered to you since she had first introduced herself, and it caught you off guard as you were so absorbed in dusting the paintings decorating the walls. You whirled around on your heel, heart pounding rapidly against your rib cage, feeling too light for comfort. You were met with no expression as she wore her veil, and you never wanted to read her more.
“She whispers... things to me.” You admitted uncertainly, unsure if your definitions of “getting attached” were the same. “Frightening things sometimes,”
“You are still here, are you not?” countered Donna. “I have not warned her any of harm befalling you.”
You swallowed past the sudden lump in your throat that formed at her words. Now you were well aware that you were free game running around the House, and away from Angie. Should you feel lucky? Because you’re starting to feel nothing at all.
“I don’t know why she... likes me.” You forced out, unsure of what answer Donna was seeking from you.
“Interesting...” was all she said before she turned away from you and left you standing there with a duster in hand.
You blinked away the memory of the first time you and Donna had a semi-conversation, and you considered that to be the turning point of your relationship. Especially when Angie was muttering the next day, something about “Why am I forbidden now?” and it had your lips curved into an unexpected smile that you couldn’t permanently shake for the rest of the day.
As the days bled into nights and as the weeks flew to months, there was a bond between the two of you that threatened to expand and force itself to be the only thing your mind was capable of comprehending. There was something melancholic about the air that always surrounded Donna and over time, it began pulling at your heartstrings that this soft heart had been so hurt in some way that she couldn’t even face the world without her veil, and you were determined to figure out the mystery of everything about her.
And that made it so easy to put aside your own insecurities and discomforts with your body for the sake of putting Donna’s needs above your own. You cooked for her, you cleaned for her, you did the house and yard maintenance for her. You made sure she had nothing else to do but to focus on what she loved — puppeteering. At first she had offered you no indication that she noticed or appreciated your effort in taking care of her, but then it started with a gentle caress of her finger over yours when you had handed her a cup one day. You couldn’t stop staring at her hands that day, and thinking of what they were capable of.
Even Angie’s bizarrely threatening comments had cooled to mere teasing and dark humor. Though she was still attached to your leg quite literally. The doll took every opportunity she could to curl herself around your leg and thigh, enjoying the ride as you continued on while occasionally glancing down at her giggling form. Even so, being as civil and calm as you and Angie were now, you still weren’t comfortable with the doll and her loose mouth knowing your secret and spreading it to the woman you-
Served. And that was all you would allow yourself even in your head. It was too painful to dream of scenarios where Donna felt the same fluttering in her stomach as you did, just to return to reality with the constriction of your chest; It was too painful to subconsciously trick yourself with hope. So, you decided to numb yourself from feeling anything completely as you tended to your duties around Donna’s home. You didn’t even bother with mindless chitchat with the veiled woman anymore when you presented her with her sustenance, and not once did you catch the furrow of her brow when you started taking your leave without a word, not when she concealed everything from you and everyone else.
You blinked past your blurry vision and saw the fog thickening until it blanketed the entire valley, even up the stumps of the trees. The small part of your forehead that was still resting against the windowpane had gone numb from the prolonged exposure to the chill of the glass. A sigh couldn’t help but find its way out of your throat, and it fogged up your view of the outside. You were contemplating reaching a finger out to draw a frowning face in the condensation, but a solid form collided with your leg and plopped itself down onto your right foot. You didn’t even have to look down.
“Hello, Angie,” you greeted monotonously, not in the mood to act overly friendly with the doll.
“What’s your problem?” demanded Angie, but you knew she wouldn’t have even asked if she wasn’t interested in what had you sour.
“Nothing,” you whispered, offering her a smile that barely lifted one corner of your mouth.
“Even my mom has noticed,” spoke Angie matter-of-factly, and you knew she felt you stiffen. “You don’t like that, huh?”
“What’re you talking about?” You cursed the way your voice trembled, but the doll relished in it.
“You’ve been distant, she says, and she wants to know why.” drawled Angie, gazing up at you as her hold on your leg tightened.
You nearly found yourself arguing with this doll, but you bit back any remarks of denial that danced so tantalizingly on the tip of your tongue, ready to take the plummet. You sighed heavily yet again as unbidden tears pricked the corners of your eyes at the mentioning of your behavior, and what was causing it by extension. You couldn’t tell her even if you wanted to, not past the weight that suddenly found itself stuck inside of your chest. Angie vehemently shook at your leg.
“Well?”
“Angie,” came a sharp voice, effectively cutting off your lack of response. “That will be all.”
Your neck almost could’ve broke with how quick your head snapped over to face Donna. She still had her veil on, but there was tension in her shoulders as she scolded the doll. Angie did the best she could about looking chastised as she scurried away from you and down the hall, not even seeking the comfort of her mother at the moment. So that left the two of you to stand there in uncomfortable silence until someone decided to break it, and you decided that that was not going to be you.
You couldn’t tell if you felt relieved or if you felt disappointed when Donna paused for a moment before turning on her heel and walked gracefully away from you and down the hall. You released a shaky breath and wasn’t sure why your eyes felt as wet as they did when you watched her go without a word, without any care. You squeezed them tightly shut, hoping against odds that it would dispel the tears lining them, and when you opened them again, you saw Donna standing still and looking back over her shoulder at you.
“Would you please follow me?” asked Donna, and you were surprised by how much of a genuine, nervous question it was rather than a demand that she could rightfully give.
“I- sure, I mean yes!” You stammered over yourself, unsure and nearly afraid, but your shaky legs took you forward one step at a time, and this time, Donna waited for you to fall into step with her.
“You seem tense,” Donna mused without looking over at you, and for once, you wished you had your own veil to shield yourself with once you decided that prolonging the inevitable would do no good.
“I’m sorry,” you mumbled, eyes turning downcast, and even you weren’t sure as to why you were apologizing.
“Are you alright, honey?”
The name at the end coupled with the concern you could hear in her voice had you looking right back up at her, and this time you could tell she was observing every part of your face, almost as if she were checking for the lie coming. It was too much to explain to her, too much at one time and you found it would be a lot easier to shut down and give generic, albeit hollow responses until she left you alone with yourself.
But what if? What if Donna made it easy enough to let your tongue slip and unleash it all as if it were nothing at all? You couldn’t see her reaction, and that alone, the slightest of hesitations, had your lungs seizing as you gazed right at her veil-covered face. What if she laughed at you? What if she called you unnatural? What if she banished you altogether? And that was how the cons had outweighed the pros, but now you’ve hesitated too long and Donna turned her body to fully face you.
“Will you make it just a little bit further? My bedroom is close by.” she said softly, her hand reaching out to you, and you took it, and for a moment it didn’t feel right in yours, but you shook the thought away, nearly grateful just to hold her hand.
You nodded your head, and the walk passed you by in a blur, one foot guiding you at a time as your thoughts battled for dominance and left you in the whirlwind. Donna pushed her bedroom door open and one thought that did take purchase of your mind was “Oh my god, she has me in her bedroom” and it offered you an anchor to latch onto instead of focusing on the care and affection you’ve grown to feel for Donna or the way your body felt too curved, too exposed, too wrong. Donna perched herself in the chair that she had in her room, and held her hand out to signal for you to sit down on the edge of the bed.
“You don’t talk much anymore.” Donna stated simply, and you made a noncommittal noise in the back of your throat. “Hm.”
“I’m-”
“Sorry,” interrupted Donna, and you could hear something coloring her tone. “Why? What do you keep apologizing for?”
“Nothing,” you shrug before looking down at your lap. “And a lot of things,”
“You are so very helpful, dear.” Donna quipped, and for some reason, it gave you the flash of irritation that you needed to get the ball rolling.
“Well maybe I don’t trust you!” You snapped, aware that you shouldn’t be saying it, but unable to prevent it from coming out, and you really regretted it when you heard a small intake of breath.
“Have I proven myself disloyal to you in some way?” spat Donna, her voice suddenly cold, and it had the fight leaving your body, and leaving you exhausted.
“I don’t want you to hate me.” You whimpered, hanging your head as it was too much energy to hold it up. “You’ll make fun of me.”
“I...”
The words died in Donna’s throat as she sat perfectly still in her seat. Her defensive attitude was instantly replaced with worry and confusion, and it had her momentarily thrown. She watched your body tremble with every labored breath you exhaled and after the third inhale, she was on her feet and sitting by your side on the edge of the bed. She took your hand and ran her thumb across your knuckles reassuringly.
“I could never hate you, and I would never make fun of you about what’s bothering you so terribly.” insisted Donna, taking your hand into both of hers now to softly caress it with her fingertips.
“I...” You whispered breathlessly, your wide eyes glued to your joined hands and it made it easier to not look at her. “I love you,”
The hands surrounding yours squeezed tightly before bringing it up, up, up, and slipping your hand behind her veil to bring it to her smiling lips.
“I know,” she whispered back, and you felt the heat of her breath against your hand. “I’ve known for some time, and I love you, too.”
Your mouth fell open in shock and you stared into the blackness that was her veil, your eyes darting back and forth where you thought her eyes to be. She was still smiling as she pressed kisses to your hand.
“W-Why didn’t you say anything sooner?” You pressed, unsure of what emotion you were going to land on. “If you knew?”
“There is something else you’re still holding back... why is that?” countered Donna, and she didn’t give you time to even think of a response before she was answering herself. “Because you aren’t ready, and I wasn’t... until now.”
“What changed?” You couldn’t help but ask, and you sorta felt selfish that you didn’t hesitate to press for answers while Donna simply let you come to terms with your own struggle at your own time.
“Me,” said Donna, her sudden chuckle sounded more of a dry sob she couldn’t hold back. “I changed over time and it was because of you... You used to be so lively around here that it made me come back to life as well... and then you suddenly disappeared.”
“I...” You trailed off, and how could you defend yourself when you knew her words to be true... you were here, but it was also very noticeable that you weren’t.
“Are you ever going to come back to me?” questioned Donna, your joined hands falling into her lap.
You watched in awe as it seemed like everything was almost falling into place right before your eyes in the form of Donna playing with your fingers with her own. She managed to seem so small and unsure, and yet she held this power and grace to her that you both were aware of. She dipped her head, but you could somehow feel the heat of her gaze probing. The fluttering of everything inside of you had it all too easy to bring your free hand underneath her veil to cup her cheek and pull her full attention towards you.
“A lot of the times I don’t feel like a woman.” You said and by the time you realized you were saying it, your voice only had time to tremble on the last word. “I... sometimes I don’t feel comfortable in my own body... Sometimes I look at myself and wish things were different.”
“What can I do for you?” Donna questioned intensely, one of her hands releasing yours in favor of covering the one on her cheek. “I don’t want you feeling uncomfortable with yourself.”
You sat there staring dumbly at her, your mouth working but no words were coming forth. You weren’t exactly prepared for any sort of response much less a positive one, and here she was, asking what she could do to help you, and it had you laughing incredulously, your brow furrowing as you looked at nothing. But then you were sobbing and you couldn’t stop it no matter how hard you tried to reign it back in. Arms were surrounding you in less than a second.
“Is this what you were so scared of, honey?” whispered Donna, tucking you into the crook of her neck, and you nodded wildly.
“I-I thought you wouldn’t l-love me if I told you.” You hiccuped, feeling frayed and ragged in her embrace.
“Impossible,” said Donna, her tone leaving no room for argument. “There is nothing wrong with wanting to feel right in your own skin.”
“What now?” You croaked, most of the weight gone from your shoulders, but there was still some residual tension lingering, and she must have felt it because she was soon running her soft hand over your shoulder.
“Well...” started Donna, pulling away from you but grabbing both your hands to keep you close enough. “I love you, and you love me, and if you ever chose to commit to becoming a man, then I’m quite certain that Mother Miranda has connections that I will indeed look into about helping you change into who you are meant to be.”
Was it really that easy? Did you really just come out as smoothly as you did? And she just... accepted it? You were so scatterbrained that it left you spent and unable to do more than fall back into her ready embrace. You figured she must have read your string of thoughts because soon she cupped the back of your neck, and pulled back.
Just enough so she could use her unoccupied hand to lift her veil just enough to expose her lips. You didn’t have time to marvel before she surged forward, also using her hand to pull you in closer to connect your lips in a searing kiss that had you gasping into it. Your eyes slammed shut without your consent, but the softness of her mouth had you lacking the care of anything else. She gently scratched at the base of your neck and then she was pulling back, leaving you dazed.
“Thank you for sharing your secret with me.” said Donna, and the raw honesty had you blinking away more tears.
“Thank you for deserving it,” you whispered back, almost hunching from how bone-tired and light you felt from finally letting go of the weight that was holding you down for so long.
After a moment of comfortable silence passed of the two of you just basking in the afterglow of requited confession, Donna smirked, prompting a grin of your own. Before you could even ask, she already beat you to it.
“I think Angie will be ecstatic about having something of a father figure around here.”
You paled when you heard maniac giggling outside the door.
Pairing (Mother Miranda x Spartan!Reader)
Rating (T)
Word Count (1.9k)
Warning (Language)
You spend your morning with Alcina and her daughters while Miranda deals with Karl and Village business.
By the time the sun had begun to peak over the mountains you'd already made yourself at home on one of the balconies of the castle with a woven basket full of croissants and mason jar full of freshly squeezed orange juice. You'd been snooping in the kitchen looking for a snack when you found the partially hidden side door. It was shielded by produce crates and bags of potatoes—you guessed it was an old service door or something, and it was probably what the help around the castle used to sneak around the castle grounds while their Mistress sleeps.
You certainly did. You took a trip to town on a whim and you were bored. You didn't have anything on you in terms of currency but you weren't one to rely on some currency to get you by as there was always a favor or two to be traded. New era, same tricks and it never failed you once. Most of the village was still asleep when you strolled through but the few farmers you saw tending to their stocks gave you less than friendly looks but you didn't take any offense. You were new and places like this didn't take too kindly to a new face, especially a young new face.
Hell, the woman in the bakery shop by the church wasn't very fond of you either until you revealed that you understood every word that she said. She turned into a different person and suddenly you weren't much of a stranger anymore, by her standards anyway.
By the time you found your way back to castle Dimitrescu, you had bruised knuckles, a basket full of goodies you probably shouldn't be eating and a decent knife now warming the holster in your boot. It wasn't tactical or as balanced as you liked but you felt a hell of a lot better with it than you did a few hours ago without it.
You had no idea who's bedroom you'd invaded to get to the balcony though you didn't really care, you saw a plush chair that was only just covered in ice and the cushions were only just a little wet, shockingly.
And that is exactly how Alcina found you, and she wasn't alone. Trailing behind her bundled up even more than you with the hood pulled up over her blonde head was a young woman with eyes that matched Alcina's. Curious that she didn't get her mother's height though—she was probably around your height, give or take.
“You missed breakfast, dear.”
“Didn't think you'd send a hunting party for me,” you smiled but in truth you hadn't realized how much time had passed since you got back to the castle. Between stuffing your face full of bread you hadn't really had in years and well, yeah, you definitely lost track of time. Thankfully there were still a few pastries left in the basket for you to offer to Alcina and who you assumed to be one of her daughters.
The girl's eyes hadn't left you since she first saw you—you knew when you were being studied but for the moment, you were too tired to actually care but not tired enough to drop your guard with these people.
Alcina waved away your offering as she took a seat in the other chair, obviously as unbothered by it's less than ideal conditions as you were but her daughter graciously scooped up a buttered croissant before leaning against the rail, her back to the gorgeous view behind her. She was probably used to seeing it and you certainly weren't a stranger to such joys either but you never really grew bored of them.
“(Y/n), this is Bela, my eldest daughter. Also my successor should anything ever happen to me.”
“Mother, stop it. Nothing will ever happen to you.” You watched as Bela ducked her head, but she wasn't blushing, she turned to you, pushing the hood back from her face slightly but she didn't say anything.
Alcina pulled her cigar holder from somewhere on her dress she was currently wearing, and pointed down at the basket sitting on the small table between you three, “It's not safe to roam around on these roads at night.”
You shrugged, “I can take care of myself, Lady Dimitrescu. A few wolves don't really scare me.”
“There are far worse things out there than death, (Y/n).”
You scoffed, laughing a bit much to the dismay and surprise of the Lady and her daughter, “I've been around long enough to know how true and wise that statement is, but I'm far too old to be scared by it anymore.”
Bela looked at you curiously, “But you don't look a day over thirty, (Y/n).”
You bit back another laugh, picking at the pastry still sitting on the napkin on your thigh. Well. You weren't going to be getting any answers if you didn't give any yourself. “Who do you think Miranda got her skin care treatment from?”
You looked up when the other two balcony occupants were quiet for too long and you realized that they were both staring at you with equally unreadable but different expressions. Though Alcina's hat always made it impossible for you, or anyone else, to gauge her moods and reactions.
“What?”
“You're being serious?” Bela asked, both of her eyebrows disappearing beneath her loose hair.
“Yeah, seriously. I met Miranda back when she was ruling her first kingdom. She thought I was a fucking Viking for the longest time.” Miranda is going to murder you and find a way to make it permanent.
“You're joking. Mother, the mortal is joking...isn't she?”
“Mortal?” you finished your breakfast and wiped away the crumbs, “I haven't been called mortal for a very long time, but now that we've all established that no one on this balcony is of average stock...”
“We can really talk.” Alcina finished as you trailed off, taking a very long and heavy drag while giving you another once over, slower this time as if she was going to find the answers to whatever she was wanting to know. She glanced at her daughter and sighed when she saw her starting to tremble a bit.
“Bela go inside and get your sisters.” Alcina said softly but her tone still held no room for argument and you could tell that Bela wanted to protest against her mothers wishes, “Have tea prepared and brought to the study.”
“For everyone?”
Alcina smiled a bit, “Yes, dear, for everyone.”
When Bela was around the corner and well out of earshot, Alcina brought her attention back to you. And you looked back, waiting for her to ask or say what was on her mind.
“What era?”
“The Peloponnesian war. I'm the last living Spartan on Earth.”
Miranda neatly folded away the paper the moment she heard the ceremony doors opening. Miranda sighed heavily when she heard Karl’s mouth down the corridor—the man's need to chatter (and argue) never ceased and Miranda was positive she would be leaving this meeting with a migraine. She'd rather be doing something more productive with her time…working on her own research, cracking you like an egg or maybe even trying a new recipe for a change.
It wasn't long before Karl burst through the doors, his prized hammer resting on his shoulders and a cigar between his teeth and in his other hand was a satchel that was holding something it wasn't designed to carry. The grin he wore grew when his eyes landed on her and Miranda sighed inaudibly behind her mask.
“Well,” he purred, sitting on the bench he normally claimed and set his hammer down next to it, “If it isn't the woman of the hour! How kind of you to meet with me today.”
Miranda didn't care too much for his charming tone—his charisma was impressive but Miranda had never been a true fan of it, and Alcina outright hated him forcing Miranda to often play the role of a mediator every time there was a faction meeting which almost always ended in chaos and bloodshed. Thankfully it was only once or twice out of the month unless it was an emergency.
“Your message said that you have something of importance to show me, Lord Heisenberg, get on with it.”
“Oh, someone's testy today,” he mumbled under his breath but just loud enough for her to catch his words and Miranda's jaw clenched, “As requested, one head of a troublesome villager only searching for his beloved little girl. Maybe do your job and tell that supersized bitch to keep her brats on a leash next time.”
The satchel landed on the floor at Miranda's feet. Miranda's eyes narrowed in his direction, barely glancing at the satchel that narrowly missed touching her, and Karl felt the hairs on the back of his neck rise alarmingly fast, “Do not forget your place here, Heisenberg.”
Karl snarled but he quickly conceded—he's proved himself to be the biggest Alpha in the region time and time again but he wasn't stupid enough to think that he could challenge Miranda evenly. Miranda relented, accepting his surrender but she didn't buy it, she never did.
“All I'm sayin' is that we don't hunt in the village for this very reason—”
“I understand that, Heisenberg. And it's been taken care of. Lady Dimitrescu will see that it never happens again.”
Karl grumbled but thankfully he didn't push, this time, “There's something else too that I think you should know. There's a stranger in the village, probably owns that cute little camp my lycans tore apart a few miles outside of town.”
That caught Miranda's interest though she did not let it show—it wouldn't do to have a man like Karl have even the slightest bit of leverage over her. He was still too useful for her to kill.
“A stranger?”
“Yeah,” he smirked, relighting his cigar and taking a long pull, “Tall, real tall and quite a looker too...I'm here to officially claim her. If she's as tough as she looks, I'll—”
Miranda's wings fluttered when those words left his hairy lips, he didn't have to go into detail for her to know who he was talking about and Miranda felt the edges of her claws trying to grow beneath the veil of her dark wings.
“No.”
“No!?” he sat up quickly, setting both of his feet down on the ground, “What do you mean no?! Aren't those your laws for fresh meat?!”
“Yes, and that woman is off limits. Defy my word, it will not end well for you. If that is all Lord Heisenberg, I will see you this Friday at the faction meeting.”
“You gave her to that zombie in the castle didn't you!” he called after her when Miranda transformed into a flock of birds and left through the rafters.
Karl pulled his hammer to him as he jumped to his feet and he destroyed the bench he was previously sitting on but Miranda was already gone by the time the splinters where she had once stood, “I never get anything nice around here! Always scraps this and scraps that ever since that bitch took over!” he turned and threw his hammer, nearly slicing a pillar in half and he was half transformed before he caught himself.
Karl dusted himself off with one hand while the other brought another cigar from an inside pocket of his oil stained coat and picked up his hammer on the way out of the ceremony room, his temper simmering down. He took one last look at the damage he caused, and smirked.
“Have fun cleaning this up, mother. ” He didn't care what she said, the woman in the village he saw this morning was his game.
Tricked
Prompt by @nuttynutcycle
"I'm actually surprised what a good team we make. Supervillain didn't even see us coming." The hero said, thrusting Supervillain's detonator in the villain's direction. "Mind holding this?" He fumbled to get his jacket on.
The villain nodded absentmindedly, reaching out to grab the device. A hand slammed on top of hers and forced the button down. The resounding boom shook the ground and drowned out the following screams. Her mouth gaped. "What did you DO?"
He grinned back. "No, what did YOU do?"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Villain threw the detonator away with trembling hands as she stumbled back. As far as she could get from the hero. She was shocked but realised she needed to get out of there immediately. She could not afford to worry about anything else. She turned around and took off at top speed but suddenly she felt a sharp sting in her neck. She gasped as she realized what happened.
She ran faster as she pulled it out struggling to get as far away as possible before it took effect. Sadly, she was slowing down as slowly couldn’t feel her legs anymore. She stumbled and fell to the ground. She stared with anger as Hero approached her. Slowly, leisurely for she was going nowhere. She glared at him. Oh if only looks could kill. This would have never happened but unfortunately, he had caught her off guard.
By now Hero had come close enough so she could see his face. His expression was completely different now. He had a smug look as he brandished the dart gun in front of her. He laughed, “Didn’t expect this did you? It took me quite some time to figure out a way to trick you. You never trust people easily yet you finally did and look where that got you.”
Hero smirked and at that moment he was not looking very heroic to Villain. He was looking like a villain. One far worse than any she had encountered.
Hero smiled a sinister smile, “Well, I’ve got to take you in for setting off that detonator now. You’ll pay for your crimes.”
That was the last thing Villain heard and saw before her limbs went completely limp and her vision faded and she was out.
When she awoke she was in a completely different place.  She was sitting in a cold metal chair and had been chained to it by the ankle. She vaguely wondered why they thought they could keep her there only with a single chain when she felt something. The lack of her powers and strength. She glanced down and saw a thin bracelet encircling her wrist. It felt like lead on her wrist.
Its appearance was deceptive. It was made of an almost unbreakable metal and also drained her powers and strength thus making it impossible to break unless removed with its specific key. She looked around. She was in a cold bare room. She sighed. At least it was clean. She could plan her escape here.
A moment later the door opened and Hero entered along with Superhero and some other people from their little organization. Villain stared coldly at Hero taking note of how his expression was so different now. He looked like a hero who had just captured a villain and saved the world. Not an ounce of the malice and spite in his eyes that she had seen before.
Superhero pulled out another chair that was present in the room and sat on it right in front of her. She reclined as best as she could on the chair she was seated on. She could make it her throne temporarily. She spoke with a wry smile, “What brings you here? Most importantly why am I here?”
Superhero stared at her. “Do you not know what you did? Luckily Hero was able to capture you so you could answer for your crimes. It was a pity he was too late to stop you but at least we can stop you from committing crimes for the rest of your life.”
Superhero’s expression turned to one of anger and disbelief, “How could you? Do you know the amount of people that died just because you pressed the button?”
Villain smiled sadly. “It wasn’t me; you’ve got the wrong person. It was Hero-”
Superhero stood up in anger. “Oh really? Are you going to tell me that Hero forced you to press your hand on the button so that we could clearly see that it was your fingerprints on the button and yours only.”
Villain looked up at Hero who was silently standing behind Superhero and from his expression he was enjoying this. His eyes held silent mirth. No doubt his mocking expression was saying- and she could almost hear it loud and clear- They’ll never believe you. After all, I’m the hero and you’re just a villain.
She silently seethed with anger. This hateful man was walking around scot-free after causing such havoc. After causing her to get charged with a crime she never even committed. She silently berated herself. She should have known Supervillain must have had a trick up his sleeve. She never would have imagined Hero was one of his men.
She had to admit. It was a pretty good plan but they were ever so going to regret it the moment she got out of here.
Superhero was still speaking - some long list of charges it seemed. She heard the last line- “You’ll be punished by being imprisoned here for the rest of your miserable life.”
Villain’s jaw dropped. No, that wouldn’t do at all. She had to do something. How could her plan work if she was stuck here?
By the time she realised she should try to make Superhero believe her she looked up and noticed he had already stormed out of her cell. Probably too disgusted by the crimes she had apparently committed. She wondered what Hero had added and exaggerated to her normal list of crimes.
She was deep in thought when she saw Hero had stayed behind, even after they all had left. He walked over to her and leaned towards her. He whispered into her ears. “You didn’t think I would let you go out again and give you the chance to do something against me, did you? Oh no! You’re too dangerous to be left free.”
With that he grinned at her and left, closing the door with a final click.
Villain stared around the room with a growing level of dread. She hated being trapped. She got up and tried to see if there was a way to get out. She quickly realised the chair was fixed to the floor at the centre of the room and the chain around her ankles didn’t let her go far enough to reach the door.
She sighed. She was angry, tired and frustrated. It would do no good attempting anything now so she decided to just sleep and hoped the next day would bring some new hope and ideas.
The next day she woke to the sound of the door opening. A different person entered. She hadn’t seen him before. He walked over and quickly handed her a package. She didn’t need to open it to know what it was. It was food. However, it surprisingly smelled extremely good. The person, now that she looked closely, he was quite young. Probably around eighteen years old. Well, that made him younger than her.
The person- no, the boy chuckled. “Don’t worry we provide good food here. It is a prison run by heroes after all. No matter how bad you are. We won’t provide you with terrible food while you’re imprisoned.”
He suddenly winked, “Though it would be a different story if Hero was in charge here.”
Villain suddenly looked up. Had her ears deceived her?
The boy grinned as he sensed her unvoiced question. “Yes I know about Hero’s true nature. I’m fairly new here so I didn’t blindly trust him and one day when I was least expecting it I witnessed it myself. Luckily, he didn’t know I was there too. It’s a pity that he has everybody else fooled.”
He looked up at her with pleading eyes. “I also know you’re the only one capable enough to defeat him.”
Villain laughed bitterly. “That wouldn’t do any good now that I’m stuck in here and believe me I’ve tried to think of a way to get out of here but I have… failed.”
Villain put her head in her hands as she fully acknowledged the despair she had been feeling since she had been locked up here.
The boy looked worried as he saw her expression bleak and utterly defeated. He silently opened the packet and handed her the sandwich and spoke while she ate. “Don’t worry. Since you are a high security prisoner, they won’t let you out often but they will let you out once a month if you are good for the entire month. No causing havoc or disturbances here.”
Villain scoffed. “Just stay put here like a willing prisoner and accept that I have to live the rest of my life here?”
The boy’s eyes twinkled. “Of course not. You shall be planning your revenge. How to take down Hero and Supervillain once you successfully get out of here.”
Villain looked up; her eyes dull. This was too good to be true. She didn’t believe a word of it.
The boy realised she needed more convincing and continued, “When you’ll be taken out for your walk after a month, you’ll have two guards next to you and you’ll be chained at the waist with them holding one of each of the two sides and of course with the power dampening bracelet.”
He now started smiling, “However, I will be the one in charge of restraining you properly before you’ll be going out of here so it is very easy for me to make sure you can slip the chains off easily and unlock the power dampener for you so you can make it fall of with just a click when it’s the appropriate time.”
Villain looked up and for the first time since she had been brought here, she felt hope spark inside of her. She also felt better after eating the sandwich.
She took the boys hand and firmly shook it. “Deal.”
For some reason she believed him. She could sense he was being genuine.
He smiled as he hastily made his way to the door, “I’ve already spent more time than I should have in here. I’ll be seeing you soon.”
A month had passed. Villain had been quiet and well behaved. Only on the outside. In her head she had already formulated a fool proof plan. She smiled darkly. Supervillain and Hero were going to pay. They were going to wish they had never messed with her.
She looked up to the familiar sight of the boy coming in through the door to give her her daily supply of food.
Today he entered with chains dragging behind him.
She looked up with a smile. It was finally here. The day she had been eagerly waiting for. The day she would escape.
While she had been silently planning, the boy had also made preparations and had managed to get his hand on the key that unlocked the power dampener bracelet without any suspicion.
He quickly walked over to her and released her ankle that had been chained for so long. He also made short work of attaching the chain to her waist, showed her exactly where she had to pull so the whole thing fell off easily and unlocked her power dampener.
He leaned in and said in a hurried whisper. “Something unexpected happened. Hero will also be accompanying you for the walk.”
Villain smiled as she felt her powers flood through her body. She felt alive once more. Her strength returned and it felt glorious.
She looked over at the boy and thanked him with a smile. “Don’t worry about that, I can take him down easily now. I won’t be caught off guard like last time. He isn’t a match for me at all.” She smiled reassuringly at him.
She also made up her mind to return the favour to him someday. She was not one to be ungrateful.
By now, the guards had come inside to lead her out. She smirked. Hero was going to regret his decision very soon. He had come to her and given her this opportunity. He only had himself to blame for deciding to show up today.
She smiled as her eyes flashed dangerously. This was going to be oh so much fun.
