Can you imagine if instead of there being an annual art festival downtown, you’d have guys with shovels and trowels, scattered throughout a sandy field, each forming intricate geometrical art pieces about 20x their size, with pine cones and shiny pebbles they found around the field bordering their respective circles, all while it’s the middle of summer (while it’s storming/imminent hurricane time), so they’d have to constantly readjust and fix the sand when a wind 💨 gust messes it up. And then the ladies would have to walk all around the field and choose the shape they like the most, after which the couple must build their house centered on the shape. And then the lady goes off, I guess, while the man guards the house from invading deer and coyotes or whatnot.

[Siuan sniffs, wiping her face roughly with the back of her hand before pulling Moiraine’s hood up over her head, fussing like it’s the most important task in the world.]

Siuan: I just… hate the thought of you gone. But you’ll be fine - we’ll be fine. It’s just two weeks, right? Nothing to fret over. And when you come back, I’ll bake you those honeycakes you like so much.

Moiraine (tearing up herself): Two weeks.
