Puey stays AU: 3E Civil War Arc

There's a strong cultural trait amongst Filipinos called "Utang na loob", which simply means "being deeply indebted to someone's kindness to the point of obligation to return the favour".

Puey would have so much "utang na loob" towards Korosensei because the teacher was the one who saved his family, and essentially saving Puey himself as well since his family is his reason to keep living.

I don't think he has any more reason to genuinely want to kill the man who had changed his life for the better, especially after learning that he is just as human as any of them all are. I think Puey would take any chance to return the favour.

Trying to guess Puey's statistics based from the skills he has shown in Korotan B.

He has strong legs. He was able to scale himself to the appointed slope by running up the steep mountain path and nearly beat Okano's parkour record, who jumped to the top between branches.

Unlike everyone else's linear movements, Puey swings his blade with an arc. His swinging speed was able to throw Karasuma off-balance.

His ability to adopt knowledge by putting them to practical use is exceptional. Puey has immensely improved his English in less than three days.

Puey crafts his own weapons using natural resources such as his sharp bamboo knife, his well-hidden built-in finger gun that he used to shoot an anti-sensei BB bullet, and lately a small block of wood that sprouts out an anti-sensei blade with a push of a button, which he then gave to Isogai.

Amidst of all the commotion Isogai caused for bumping on another customer, Puey was able to accurately shoot a BB bullet at Koro-sensei. He would have been successful if the bullet wasn't blocked by the chip that Koro-sensei conveniently hid under his wig.

Many of his official attempts on Koro-sensei fell short because his plans were too straightforward and simple, but the foundation was there. Puey easily picks up on Koro-sensei's weaknesses and use them to his advantage, like when he immediately swung his blade towards him the second he loses his composure.

He shows up with a well-made net trap and a pit that seemed to have been made by himself on his first appearance.

His ability to completely erase his presence despite being on plain sight was most likely from his experience as a professional assassin than something he learned from Karasuma's class.

AssClass OC: Matsuoka Isami Anime Design Reference Sheet

I've done a couple sketches of Isami's design when I first introduced him in this blog over a year ago, but I haven't really done a proper reference sheet.

So I thought it would be a good idea to do this one, especially since I have made a couple of tiny tweaks in his look according to his lore that I have developed in private for the past year.

Which I'm lowkey kinda regretting now cuz MY GOD Chiba's canon high school uniform is so ugly especially in the lerche anime style, not even my pretty princess can save it 😭

Like I said in my redesign post of Puey, I decided to headcanon him as Filipino for my own comfort and ease as he was ambiguously southeast asian... and that extends to giving him a surname, since he did already quit being an assassin by the end of Korotan B, and I do have an AU where he became a permanent member of Class 3-E.

Some notes and Headcanons

This trio came to be because among everyone in Class E, they are the only ones who are the big brothers with a lot of siblings. Isogai has two younger siblings, Puey has three, and Chiba is the second eldest between three sisters.

It's not obvious, but both Chiba and Isogai are the ones who maintain class harmony. They're both empathetic and are sensitive to what other people are thinking and thus, they are able to look after each of their classmates in their own way.

Because of this, even though Puey can clearly fend for himself, it was inevitable that both began looking after him the second he became a permanent member in class.

But of course, a lot more effort was made to help Puey integrate with the rest of the class since he doesn't speak their language.

From enforcing the English-only rule even more, having Ritsu help him understand their messages with a translator when they added him to their class' group chat, to help him learn to even just understand Japanese to an extent - Puey was able to adjust within the new environment in no time because of everyone's efforts.

Puey lives alone by choice, in a small apartment near the school, and the rental costs were covered by the goverment (thanks to Karasuma). Along with Isogai and Chiba, the class takes turns in tagging along when shopping for necessary supplies. Kurahashi, Kataoka, Nakamura, and Kimura are among the most recurring few.

But despite that he has a place of his own to stay, Puey frequently visits the Isogai residence since he was more used to the lively atmosphere of a family with many siblings, especially during meal times.

He had only been to the Chiba residence once when they went there for lunch before they had to go back to renovating Matsukata's school building. Because it was on a Saturday, only Chiba's mother and middle sister were around. The whole time, Puey couldn't help but to notice the uncanny resemblance between the three Chibas.

But even with just the three, lunch was extremely lively that it even rivals the Isogais' liveliness as a whole. Puey soon understands why Chiba was such an easy going person even though he seemed quiet at first.

When it comes to grocery shopping, Puey has mixed opinions. For things like vegetables, meat, and such, Puey wouldn't mind getting them from the nearest store available. But for things like condiments and seasonings, Puey very much prefers Philippine brands.

So unless he wants to go through the trouble of looking for stores that sells imported products, the easiest solution to this was to convince Korosensei to fly him to the Philippines so that he can grocery shop there instead.

I can imagine a Home Ec class with Puey teaching his classmates to cook well-known Filipino dishes that they could try out (especially in accordance to Filipinos' tastebuds because we love it sour, okay?).
