whumpee just doesn’t know why these things keep happening to them. whumper doesn’t help of course; their every word implies it was all whumpee’s fault. that maybe if they weren’t so careless and reckless with these things, maybe they—

no, whumper should just take care of these things for whumpee from now on. that’s what’s best, since whumpee has clearly proven they aren’t responsible enough to manage money, or shopping, let alone a job or really any human responsibilities.

after all, whumpee’s just a broken thing, and only whumper can put them back together.

Ok on the atonement ending: of course this depends on your rook and their choice and rp and everything, but for mine that moment is borderline evil.

So my Rook is a manipulative bastard, so he knows exactly what he's doing in bring in Mythal and the Inquisitor at that crucial moment. he deliberately intended to mentally break Solas by doing so.

for context i hc that he talked a lot to Varric, and then MorriMythal and Lavellan and learn a lot about Solas, almost as much as we do as players, plus he's a veteran player at the political game so all this shit is another tuesday for him. as for his relationship with solas it was mutual disdain AND respect at the same time, because they see too much of each other in the other person. Solas looks down on Long because of his pride and ambition, while Long judges Solas for being a hypocrite. Yet Solas respects Long for being unabashedly true to his wants and needs as well as his determination to get to his goals, and Long respects Solas for his experience and aptitude in the game, as well as how despite all he's been through, Solas still tries to be close to the people he fought for. (they are both very contradicting in very similar ways i love them su much uww)

anyway, so, Long knows best way to deal with Solas is to beat him in his own psycholigical game rather than brute force, so he intends to hit where it hurts the most. Which is, to bring in his biggest abuser of all time aka Mythal, and the biggest symbol of change and good in his life aka the inquisitor (not even necessarily inky, but they are the walking symbol of the inquisition, a time in which solas was most happy and down to earth in millenia. the fact that lavellan also has a romantic death grip on solas is an enjoyable side benefit wink wink) imagine, solas, exhausted and bloodied after hand wrestling the strongest archdemon to ever walk the earth, got hit with a moral lecture from his frenemy Rook, and then immediately blindsided with Mythal whom was once his world and everything, whom he raged wars for and mourned for millenia. he did not prepared for meeting her again here at that moment where he's about to betray everything he stands for, nor did he even think that she will forgive him and release him from her burden that he's been carried for so long and knows no better. this moment can be seen as cathartic, but if u count in the fact that Long knows what Mythal did to him and who she is to him, yet decided to bring her in this exact moment and not sooner, is just diabolical!!!

and then as the cherry on top, lavellan came to him as he's crying and lost. she accepts everything of him, and is even willing to go with him on this terrible path, despite everything he did and how he refused to let her walk with him before. How can he said no? he's been too lonely and beaten up for too long, and then came this tiny mortal (tiny to him lol) who is so fearless and selfless, it makes him believe that he can actually stand up and be just as fearless and selfless as her. meanwhile in the background, Long is like >:D just exactly how i wanted. uwu look how i reunited them, look how i give solas a chance to atone and fuck off , im such a good guy here, i saved the world and saved a god! uwu im the best and never did anything evil ever :3
