"It's just occurred to me just how much crossover there is between Gundam and Type Moon fans. Like a surprising amount. Funny that." - by WeedDigimon

The funny thing is they hadn't even seen the reveal of Miorine's Saberface-having ex-groom when they made this statement. 🤣

listen. I’m aware I’m venturing into a dangerous territory of being sincere about a sillyass toxic space prince war criminal but. listen. something about the existence of “Char clones” as a trope makes me absolutely insane conceptually. like that combined with the dark history stuff from turn A (which I admittedly need to learn more about) is just like. aauuughhh.
what do you MEAN in every universe there will always be some flashy hotshot making the same mistakes. and they always have no idea someone’s done it all before. what do you MEAN it is the same story repeating. that of course this story is still trapped in orbit around the sun because THAT’S WHAT COMETS DO!! what do you mean by this. get me to whatever far flung gundam timeline we haven’t discovered yet and show me the next smug little bright spark who thinks he’s the first guy ever to put on sunglasses and wear red. does he even know. look at him, he has no idea. nobody has ever been doomed by the narrative quite like the abstract concept of some ace pilot with a mask.
#this whole concept made me so insane that I ended up vaguely incorporating something like it into an oc story#gundam#char aznable#why does my phone like to capitalize his last name 🙄 bestie I don’t respect him that much#communication#frontal doesn’t count for this bc he’s technically like half of the same guy. he is psychoframe georg and should not be counted

apropos of nothing, it'd be funny to imagine that the two (or perhaps 3) main jumping off points for G-Witch's Ad Stella timeline versus the Universal Century timeline after watching Gundam Unicorn is that:
Spacenoid/Spacian rights were ratified at the start of the new calendar
Which leads to expansion to space and all major capital moving there (which leads to spacian domination due to ownership of excess resources and the current status quo of corporate feudalism)
"Permet" as it's known in Ad Stella is actually Universal Century's "Psychoframe" tech discovered and implemented earlier; with the logical conclusion of no natural Newtypes present at that point of time leading to the creation of the GUND-Format and the Enhanced Humans (aka Cyber-Newtypes) to take advantage of it; Eri is very likely the first Actual Newtype of Ad Stella (circa G-Witch plot), but her young age and the harshness of space would prove too much for her
all that to say is:
Should G-Witch and Universal Century have a crossover, all the Permet abilities will more or less still work against Psychoframe tech and might even advance to the even more esoteric stuff related to Psychoframes given enough time
The UC tech pre-psychoframe stuff would be "museum pieces" like the NTDS used in the last few episodes, since they would lack Permet/Psychoframes to operate and subsume
==
just some silly thoughts in regards to AU timelines and how they might intersect with UC :)
#qq posts#perhaps not that accurate but its funny how little information about Permet is out there#ill lookup the psychoframe stuff too soonish

So if i understand correctly, "Gundam ALC Encounter" is about Lalah Sune reincarnating into a lesbian tiktoker who can control replicas of the Sazabi and Nu Gundam with a psychoframe, while Amuro and Char beat each other up in a shopping mall (as they should).

Finally took some nice pictures of my RG Hi-Nu Gundam :)
This kit is special to me because it's the last gunpla I finished before my kiddo was born. I actually wrapped it up over a year ago but I haven't had the time/energy/drive to take DSLR pictures of it til now.
The paintjob is based on an old Moon Gundam commission I did back in 2020 and the Unicorn Gundam. The pink/red accents are meant to invoke the Unicorn's psychoframe :) I used grey in place of blue on this because I wanted to use the polygonal decals that the RG line uses but since some of those decals are white I had to make my color choices based on that.
Overall very happy with this little guy. The kit itself is wonderful and this paintjob is really striking, if'n you ask me. I have the HMBL for this too and that parts are all prepped, they just need to be painted. Dunno when I'll get around to that but it'll probably be before the year is out.

I LOVE Amuro and Char, man, Char really out here leaking the Psychoframe on purpose so they use it on the Nu Gundam so he and Amuro can have a final climatic dramatic romantic showdown, but Amuro doesn’t indulge any of this theater kid shit and just fucking goes for the jugular immediately.
And Amuro isn’t like a frothing-at-the-mouth kinda guy either, he’s a chill dude, and when he sees Char, he’s like “Oh ok, hey kids, change of plan, give me a bit”, frowns juuuust a little and starts fucking mauling him.

MG RX-93 νGundam (Version 1.0)
I built the original version because I don't like the opening Psychoframe gimmick on the Ver Ka. It's not the Unicorn, it's the Nu! It only has Psychoframe around the cockpit! I also prefer the proportions and design on the older version.
As usual, I painted this one by hand, but I used a different method. I was also able to hand paint the primer and matte top coat, so now I'm finally free 100% from aerosolized paints and should be able to paint more models going forward.

Part of my Extended Steven Universe Gundam AU, Commander Ercole Visconti. He’s still an asshat but knows not to mess with Alberto too much. His family joined up with the Earth Federation early on to receive the modified human protocol surgery, the changes greatly slowing down their natural lifespans thanks to the alien tech. In charge of the facility and safeguarding “Project: Typhon”, having been the test pilot of Gundam Fenrir. Prefers to pilot a Baryon Custom for its versatility and lack of Psychoframe complications, having sustained critical injuries before it was decided to lock away Gundam Fenrir in storage. He's changed much from the 16 year old bully that he was back in Portorosso, but don't expect him to cozy up to you unless you're a certain Alberto Scorfano. Even if everyone's a modified human around the base, he's still going to act like he's above it all because he didn't have to pay for it. Surprisingly proficient at mobile suit combat, he helps train the recruits to prepare to fend off the Mobile Armors that make landfall on Earth every few days or so. When he's not doing that, you might find him cursing the higherups under his breath about 'fighting pointless proxy wars".

This kit is simply marvellous. Had lots of fun assembling and decorating it. Really liked making scratched silver deactivated psychoframe and armor weathering.

RE/100 MSN-03 Jagd Doga (Oldtype Custom)
I began planning this project when I learned a 1/100 scale Jagd Doga was available in the RE/100 line, but it took a long time to come to fruition because I wanted to use the Quess variant from P-Bandai in order to get that version's faceplate and kickass beam gatling. After many months waiting for the kit to travel on a literal slow boat from Japan, I was very excited to build this one.
Although the Jagd Doga is famously a newtype-use suit, what with the psychoframe cockpit and remote funnel weapons, I found myself toying with the notion of a oddball unit without that equipment. After all, Anaheim Electronics based their development of this machine upon the grunt suit Geara Doga—and perhaps they would've constructed a mechanical test unit while another team worked on refining the psycommu system and funnels. What if, instead of disassembling that test unit for spare parts after AE's development was complete, some astute Axis engineer intervened, earmarking that high-performance prototype for a capable pilot without newtype abilities?
As with the Gundam Mk. III I'd built just before it, I opted for a battleship grey sort of look. (In fact, I'd planned this color scheme before I got the notion of building the Mk. III at all.)
For the monoeye, I used a stick-on plastic jewel instead of the usual flat sticker. This domed piece has a reflective backing, so when it catches the light it returns a compelling glint. It also makes the eye look much more substantial in general.
Forswearing the kit's fixed hands, I splurged on a spare pair of so-called emotion manipulators, the highly articulated hands used with the vaunted MG Sazabi ver. Ka. They didn't come with their own back plates, so I had to file the ones from the kit to fit the new hands. I also had to make some adjustments to the grip tabs on both the hands themselves and the Jagd Doga's weapons. Unfortunately the resulting fit is imperfect, making the suit's grip on its weapons rather weak. This is especially an issue with the large, relatively heavy beam gatling, which also causes the wrist to sag.
Posing the suit is also difficult on the whole. Although its joints have decent range, the bulkiness of its design doesn't permit very many poses. Additionally, despite lacking an inner mechanical frame, its large components are still fairly heavy, which keeps the Jagd Doga from holding some poses at all even if it can be positioned into them. For instance, it is capable of a fair bit of torso bend, but the joint isn't strong enough to hold the suit's weight.
Despite its shortcomings, I like this model a lot. I knew what I was getting into in terms of its limitations, and I enjoyed the relative simplicity of the kit. While it can't hold particularly dynamic poses, its massive size and unmistakeable character give it a lot of presence.
