I’ve been on a bit of a Borderlands kick lately after replaying the BL3 Psycho Krieg DLC, and I’ve been thinking about the character exploration and plot continuation that was somewhat left behind due to how the DLC stories are handled. Might be tempted to write a handful of mini-fics focused around the aftermath/potential next steps for each of the DLC stories (aside from maybe Bounty of Blood, not as much to work with there). Can’t promise they’ll be ready for publication in the near future, but I’ve got a few story sequences in mind that should be interesting.

So the final votes are here for the stream on August 6th, I will have to figure out a good time to start and you all chose:
Borderlands 3!
I am honestly surprise that half of you chose this game and was expecting MH Rise/Sunbreak, but hey, nothing wrong with a little Mayhem!
And I do have all four of the DLC’s, not the second one since I wasn’t all fond of it, (which is murder mystery that a character did and little added bonus skill for each character) but I do have the Handsome Jackpot Heist, GLT: The marriage of Wainright and Hammerlock, Bounty of Blood, and the fourth one that I can’t seem to say right, but hey, our good ol’ pal Krieg will be there!
So the main plan will be to tackle the main story first, then go through the DLC by their release date.
And yes, I have beaten the game along with the DLC, so I will reset all and amp up the mayhem mode on it. And for the character I will be going with, it will be Zane
I love his dialogues since he is the funny one.
I will most likely will set the time for the evening so I can get everything ready! And if things are looking good, I will do another stream on August 7th, but we shall see how it goes!
See you all on Sunday!

the difference between the side missions for guns, love & tentacles ( and jackpot ) vs fustercluck makes me laugh.
for krieg’s, all of them are in the same area if not just exactly the same place as where you accepted the mission. ( at least so far, just finished the locomotive segment ).
i do appreciate it, especially given how i do find the back and fourth missions a little irritating, but also i wish they were a little more difficult, yknow. sorta like the ones you get after completing the memories.
if anyone else has any thoughts to share on fustercluck side missions, feel free.
#psycho krieg and the fantastic fustercluck#moxxi’s heist of the handsome jackpot ment#guns love and tentacles ment#bl3 dlcs#that’s not to say any of the side missions in any of the games are bad because they’re not#i do enjoy 99% of them which helps with the whole “i have to do them all” thing

Borderlands: Skies the Ultimate Treasure Hunter
Skies defeats the Psychoreaver.
*Reblogs appreciated*
--
The Fantastic Fustercluck Part 8
Psychoreaver towers over the arena, now as giant as a building. Skies glares up at him, readying her assault rifle.
She fires at him, but the bullets are little more than mosquito bites. He lifts his ginormous flail and swings down at her. She runs out of the way to dodge, but as the cage hits the floor it releases a shock wave that sends her flying off her feet.
She rolls across the ground, grabbing a bomb from her jacket as she skids to a stop on her side. She whips it at the giant and detonates it as it connects with his chest. Skies watches as he becomes engulfed in smoke.
Psychoreaver blows it all away with a wave of his arm and roars, seemingly unharmed.
Skies scowls dismally and scrambles to her feet as he lifts his flail. He smashes it multiple times against the floor, chasing Skies as she scatters around, like trying to hit a bug with a flyswatter. She barely manages to not get crushed but the shock waves alone are enough to knock her around.
Changing up his game, Psychoreaver sweeps his flail across the floor. Skies leaps over, barely clearing the handle, and lands on the ground hard. But as she does so, Psychoreaver swings down at her with his free hand.
Skies scrambles out of the way and avoids getting crushed, but the force of his hand hitting the ground sends her flying and smashing into the nearby wall. She gags in pain as she collapses onto her back.
Skies lies there for a second, her consciousness fading in and out. She flinches awake as something smashes into the ground next to her and she looks over to see Psychoreaver’s massive cage standing next to her.
He chuckles darkly as he scoops her up into the cage. She slumps up against the bars, moaning in pain. Her vision swims as Psychoreaver holds the cage in front of his face and laughs victoriously.
In Krieg’s mind, the Vault Hunters, Maya, and the two Kriegs keep their distance as they watch Psycho Skies flail about on the ground. Her pistol clicks harmlessly as she tries shooting it, having ran out of bullets long ago. She still can’t move her right arm or leg, but the blades on her arm are starting to twitch out of their sockets.
“Whatever happened to her is starting to wear off,” Moze warns, “if we’re gonna do something, we should do it now.”

Kiwi talks about Borderlands 3: psycho krieg and the fantastic fustercluck
So, I just beat the DLC for the second time, and I just want to say...
It's an amazing story for such a game with a bunch of silly things, but to go into the mind of what a psycho is in the borderlands universe is interesting. Since I want to learn more about psychology, this gave me a bit of a reminder of what to think about or take into mind.
I'll add more onto this post when I can, but it comes to show that people who seem like they are deranged and crazy may have a totally different side to them. Most people who are quiet and reclusive are sometimes the most wise and kindest people.
This is why I do my best to give people chances and letting them try speaking.

I bit the bullet and just watched a silent walkthrough of psycho krieg and the fantastic fustercluck and It feels like they actually decided to go back and read what the fuck DID actually is and write krieg to be more nuanced but they also hired a guy whose job is exclusively to make really stunted whedonesque jokes to ease off the tension at incredibly inappropriate times. Also I’m pretty sure gearbox has completely fucking forgot who tannis is as a character other than an autism caricature to the point of even contradicted the backstory established for her in borderlands 1. I really like how we got to see Maya as a character in this one, I feel like I’m anything else her characterization is really flat in comparison to the other vault hunters. In general I feel like everyone involved in writing this DLC didn’t play or doesn’t care about borderlands 1, spoilers ahead; I think it was a really weird decision to make psychos violent evil screaming cannibals because hyperion pumped them full of violent evil screaming cannibal juice instead of pandora just being a former penal colony where corps dropped their worst convicts and decided to fuck off when the money dried up leaving them to fend for themselves, I’m pretty sure the masks and buzz axes are supposed to be mining equipment used by them in prison labor. I also think Tannis is comically underqualified as a neurologist cause the whole “vaulthalla” thing is honestly just a really ok metaphor for dealing with PTSD which uh like, I’m pretty sure is a prerequisite for Pandoran citizenship at this point though handwaving it as “medicine is Tannis’ weird new hobby and she’s only really qualified to do geochemistry” makes a lot of sense. Also seeing all the really dogshit side quests that boil down to “press the X button 5 times” or “walk to this location and walk back” make me really glad I ended up not buying this shit. On the bright side I like the psychedelic imagery and I think this + the better parts of Wonderlands I hope it’s an aesthetic they go forward with (but obviously like, improving from the dogshit they’ve been serving up since BL3’s release)
Also I find krieg even more relatable now because he also had the moment of having his delusions justified in one small event that caused his mental health to get severely worse and getting extremely attached to people that put up with and understand his quirks that make other people uncomfortable. (Also lol I realized he has the exact same backstory as an old borderlands oc of mine, the one that I’ve had as an icon for a while now, though idk I should probably change it at some point.)

Borderlands 3 Ultimate Edition Review Cons: - You will still get notifications and pop-ups about buying the Pandora Box version in every game despite owning it. - The humor of Borderlands is very childish and it can get very grating in the shooter games. - It is very easy to feel overwhelmed with all the quests and events popping up. - The mission markers or guidance in general are not always clear or helpful. - With so many guns it is hard to get to grips with one in particular. - A lot of guns are actually not that great. - Long initial load each time, a good 3 to 5 minutes. - All the DLC is a seperate download adding an additional 10 GB. - No touchscreen support. - The driving takes some getting used to. - Few ugly textures in places. - The graphics do look a bit blurry. - Detail pops in after time. - Slowdown happens and it can be when you aim down sights or when explosions go off. - There is a ridiculous amount of everything from encounters to enemies to loot to space. It may sound good but it gets too much and dampens the thrill of loot. - The general. The gameplay is not as snappy as it needs to be and is with the other versions. Borderlands 3: Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck was released 3 years ago and it was a unique experience as it had some of the weirdest things in a Borderlands game. Recreating the teaser art with myself in it was also a fun challenge. Thanks, Gearbox for the awesome experience!

Oh boy, let me introduce you to Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck, a Borderlands 3 DLC all about what's happening up there in his brain.
If you don't play FPS games, then I highly encourage looking up the "movie" of the DLC (story gameplay, no let's players commentary).
Just saw the Borderlands movie... If I don't see any fics, or fan art of Krieg, I will kill my next door neighbor
Ive never played Borderlands before, and I've never heard of Krieg before, but I'm SO not normal about him
