Happy B-Earth-Day ♓️ to and remembering Genesis Breyer P-Orridge (February 22, 1950 - March 14, 2020) R.I.P. 🖤🥀💔 @pandrogyne @psychictv3 I wrote a tribute the day s/he passed away last March and without being redundant I wanted to commemorate h/er once again on h/er birthday. In the past I have referred to Genesis in the plural pronoun “they” and also used pronouns “s/he” and “h/er”. They is for the joint union with Lady Jaye. Genesis adopted the Breyer in the name and at times referred to h/erself as we and us. As usual s/he was a pioneer in so many fields and gender identity was one of them. In 1993 Genesis defined pandrogeny as “a ‘third gender’ and a type of gender-neutral living being more akin to the other or internal self.” It was a result of the “Pandrogeny Project” they with Lady Jaye embarked on which was influenced by the cut-up technique and the duo underwent body modification through elective surgery to resemble one another, thus coming to identify themselves as a single pandrogynous being named “Breyer P-Orridge”. Body modification was something that Genesis had long been involved in. As I previously wrote I first met h/er in London in 1985 and joined forces with h/er and other PTV and TOPY side projects to “kreate”. It was Magickal. S/he mentored me in thee creative process. I had already been a fan of COUM Transmissions then Throbbing Gristle who I witnessed live in Culver City a few years prior and subsequently Psychic TV. Almost everything s/he had engaged in had piqued my interest since I drew from similar influences like counterculture, Dadaism, the cut-up technique, the occult, sigils, and the Beat Generation to name a few. S/he along with other members of TG and Monte Cazazza were the architects who had coined the term “Industrial” in music. There is not enough space here for me to fully credit h/er and pay homage. S/he was undeniably a powerhouse of creativity and a harbinger of cutting edge art forms. S/he will forever shine and inspire as many notable artists have taken cues from h/er… L-OV-E 23 丰⚡️🖤⚡️丰

I first met Genesis Breyer P-Orridge in person at a fetish boat party in London where s/he (they) were the DJ back in 1985 during Psychic TV’s Godstar era. I was a huge fan of Throbbing Gristle from a young impressionable age. I also knew about all their artistry and musical endeavors and projects prior to TG, namely the performance art collective known as COUM Transmissions. Upon meeting we exchanged some pleasantries and we established a powerful connection and bond and shared a lot of mutual interests like body piercings, scarification, tattoos, other body modifications, Beat Generation writers, the occult and sigils to name a few. Some of us were piercing each other at the aforementioned boat party. They had such a powerful presence with their magnetic piercing eyes and soft spoken demeanor that was so soothing and assuring. They invited me to their facility/headquarters on Beck Road in Hackney. They then set me up with a place to stay and I became affiliated with Thee Temple Ov Psychick Youth and engaged in other collaborative efforts with other members. I learned quite a bit from their brand Ov Magick and use of sigils to tap into the creative source and energy. Rest in Power dear Genesis.
