Every month I make it a ritual to read Yamato's "Pirate Ship Noah" again to fuel my soul with a pained joy.
If I could recommend any doujin to a new Zoro x Sanji shipper, it would either be PSN or Tiger 90113 (both contains NSFW contents though, so be aware) because oh my God, Yamato does such a fantastic job portraying these two as complex characters in a unique story that doesn't change their canon personalities or the absurdity of One Piece's world either. They're just in love with each other in the ways they know how, and I've yet to find many other doujin artists with that level of understanding towards the characters of a show they love.
If you ship Zoro and Sanji and over the age of 18, please go do yourself a favor and read all 5 chapters of Pirate Ship Noah. You won't be disappointed.

HELLDIVERS 2 STEAM REFUND REQUEST TIPS (how to maybe possibly get your money back)
IF YOU ARE REFUNDING, USE THIS AS YOUR REFUND MESSAGE: "The developers have announced that they will restrict my access to the game unless I sign up for and use a third-party service and account. This requirement was obfuscated at release and waived for three months, before it was announced as a REQUIREMENT to continue to play the game at all."
Use the reasoning "The multiplayer doesn't work" because, well, it won't, unless you make a PSN account (and give Sony those juicy active player numbers that they want so badly).
This request message was built off of some recommendations from folks on the Helldivers discord, as well as PirateSoftware's own refund request (source at 27:19), as he has WAY more industry knowledge than I do. As I understand it, the specific mention of THIRD PARTY SIGNUP is a HUGE red flag for Steam, they take it really seriously, especially since the requirement was obfuscated and waived for months so that we all missed our refund windows.
Even in worst case scenarios where we dont get money back, it'll still send a message to Valve and Arrowhead that Sony's bs is not okay.
And to think, we thought the bugs and bots were bad enough...

Status Update: Furious.
The final 2 interviewees answered every single one of my questions the same. While the exact verbiage was different, there was zero deviation in response. There is no way to separate which of them is actually Ollie and which is a (potentially unwitting) accomplice.
Theory: Ollie mentioned there being a group chat with other interview targets. It is likely Ollie convinced one of them to share the questions and their responses so that they could imitate them.
I am, quite frankly, enraged. If I am correct then even during this last battle, Ollie resorted to cowardice and deceit to avoid any sort of actual confrontation.
I am 95% sure I know precisely which of these two respondents is Ollie. It is highly likely that, should I disclose their name to Director Cyrano, the person who receives this punishment will be the correct person. However, I will not ruin a person's academic career and potentially their life based on a probability.
I did everything correctly. I moved quickly and accurately, and I was creative and precise in my problem solving. This was a cheap trick which relied on dishonestly and plagiarism, and put their fellow classmate at risk.
I will not disclose Ollie's name. But know that I am nearly certain I do know what it is. I may not be certain enough to submit their identity to Cyrano for punishment. I am, however, certain enough that should I ever see them in person, I will administer the appropriate amount of justice myself. @psn-stalling, I strongly recommend you do not return to Unova.

I stumbled upon The Wanderer: Frankenstein's Creature and...oh, my heart, my heart. So so so good. So, so so so so tragic. Honestly. Loved every minute of it, heart broke so many times.
I believe it's on sale right now for PSN users, please pick it up and give it a go. If you're not a Gamer(TM) I still recommend it, most of it is simple choices and really really forgiving timing, but few and far between. General cw though for Deep depression and suicide potential in the game.
More thoughts and mild spoilers beneath the cut.
Tumblr media
That image above is of the Creature seeing his face for the first time truly knowing what it looks like to other people. The way this game uses sound and ESPECIALLY color to convey emotion is unreal. It gives Gris a run for its money in that regard. (They're equivalent, I think, but this hit harder at times for me, but then I wrote no fewer than three papers on or around the themes of Frankenstein (or, rather, the idea of Monsters) for my degree)
Notice the tears in the reflection.
Anyway some thoughts I jotted down on twitter:
That discussion with the Creator, with all the drowning thoughts spinning...I chose, over and over again, "I have so much love" and it just broke my heart to see it all spin into despair.
When the villagers were throwing rocks I started mashing buttons because!!! Please! Get away! Protect yourself! And...I didn't know a choice was coming up. I "chose" retaliate, and watch the stone he picked up fly to the child's head, on accident both from him and from me.
I skimmed discussion after getting the Silentium ending because I had to know. If there was a calmer ending for the Creature. (No, not really. no.) In that skimming it seems you never can actually meet up with Victor Frankenstein...
But I hope that Creature found comfort in the one moment the game let me talk to him and tell him that it was an injustice that people spurned him when all he desired was love. I hope...

Can you play Like a Dragon without knowing stuff about the rest of the Yakuza games? Your p5 comparison post made me curious
yeah!! i've never played any of the other games, i only happened to play this one because my flatmate has a psn subscription and it was one of the free games at some point lmao.
there's apparently some returning characters but more in a "oh look it's that guy, neat" way than anything plot relevant and the story is completely self-contained
i recommend it! it's great fun, and a really great example of an actually good open world game filled with actual shit to do. like, full on entire optional games within it like a management simulator and a mariokart spin-off lol.
two warnings though: the beginning is basically a cut scene simulators lmao. like, genuinely multiple hours of mostly cut scenes with very little gameplay... the story is interesting and the characters are fun, and as a persona fan i'm more immune to this phenomenon than most lol but even i was like "hey do i get to play the game at some point?" if you stick with it, it really opens up though.
aaand... it's really guilty of "for a dollar, name a woman". there is a female party member but you don't get her until way into the game and it's a total sausagefest before that. also very guilty of like. men get to have varied interesting faces and designs and women are all sameface generic pretty and feminine. i do really like the two major female characters in it but yeah... something to keep in mind
i'd still recommend it despite those drawbacks because it's so fun and goofy and legitimately some of the most i've genuinely laughed at a video game in ages. as well as the aforementioned reasons in the p5 comparison post :^)

another note on ac going a lil silly with every entry they were divulging closer and closer between the realm of mythology and history with orgins they took a step in the pond liked it and with odessy went full on if i could recommend a modern ac game its that one gold edition is currently on sell too for 20 bucks on the psn store
I was expecting that to happen eventually tbh, human history only goes back so far just because writing wasn't invented until we, like, needed it.
Back to the age of pure myth with Odyssey, huh?

btw i haven't really posted anything outside art here in a while but if you like murder mysteries i strongly recommend giving process of elimination a look, it's the best one i've played in a while and i had a great time.
there's a free demo on both the eshop and psn that's around 1h and covers most of the first chapter of the game (and a full gameplay loop) and it's very indicative of what the rest is like. the art is really nice, the music slaps, and the character writing is great

Completely forgot the homestuck games were coming to consoles, so when I opened the PSN, I got a jumpscare AND took psychic damage. So thats fun.
Can you really call Pesterquest or Hiveswap Friendsim games if they are just Western visual novels? Have people finally accepted visual novels as video games like they do in Japan? If so, it is about time. Now to recommend better visual novels like Clannad, Steins;Gate, Full Metal Daemon Muramasa, The House in Fata Morgana, Saya no Uta, Hatoful Boyfriend, Katawa Shoujo, Paranormasight, You and Me and Her: A Love Story, The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog....

I have a decent collection of physical PS4 games, though some are digital, these games are most prized ones. I decided that 2023 will be my last year of buying PS4 game (now that I have a PS5). This is my PS4 Hall of Fame.
----
Resident Evil 2 is my favorite game for the PS4. (Along with Final Fantasy VII Remake. But I got that digitally.)
Yakuza: Like a Dragon is more sentimental, as it was a Christmas present from my mom. Most of my games I buy for myself, but this is one of the few she got me.
Trails of Cold Steel is my favorite JRPG games besides Final Fantasy VII Remake and Persona 5 Royal for the PS4.
Klonoa is a precious game that sadly never got a physical version in North America. I imported the PAL version.
The Digimon games are very, very good. However, Cyber Sleuth is rare for the PS4 and it's not even on PSN. If you want to play the games, I recommend getting them on the Switch, as they are more accessible.
Aegis: 13 Sentinels is a surprisingly fun game. Highly recommended.
Crystar and Blue Reflection are my rarest games that are not Special/Limited Editions. I guess of low print runs and/or not that popular.

Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened
And within the same day, I beat another game. When my friend watched me playing, he commented how he recently read the breadth of the works and could not recall any scene in which Holmes walked on invisible rocks in a nightmare world, and that is because this game is melded with Lovecraft. It starts with Holmes and Watson investigating a missing servant and ends up with a cult set on resurrecting Cthulu. I think Chapter One remains as the studio's magnum opus, partially because The Awakened is actually a remake, and judging from the wikipedia article, they remained rather faithful to the original. Chapter One was pretty open world and there were tons of investigations to the point I felt I was stumbling upon a new one every block, whereas this has a linear and relatively short plot. I haven't played the original 2007 game so I can't say how they've updated the gameplay or clues, but I would put this on par with Chapter One in terms of difficulty. I didn't like how they dealt with the mind palace with the neurons dealing with small issues. I prefer all the clues laid out at once to show the overall picture, but I guess this game was just one case (as opposed to Crime and Punishment and The Devil's Daughter having a different case each chapter), so we would be left with one mind palace screen the entire time. There was also a lot of Watson action in this installment, and he wasn't a pain in the ass like in The Devil's Daughter so that was pleasant.
I'm willing to cut them all the slack in the world though because the developers reside in Kiev. I supported the Kickstarter for this and occasionally they would send apologetic emails about delays due to cut power from airstrikes and I'm like... it's OK. You're OK.
One interesting note is, judging from the wikipedia article, The Awakened deviates significantly from the original in chapter III, when the pair travel to the insane asylum. For one, Watson was supposed to be waiting on the outside whereas here he stays as a guest doctor and provides pivotal help in Holmes' plan. For two, the wikipedia article states, "Holmes unexpectedly discovers that his nemesis Moriarty is a patient, though a weakened shadow of his former self having survived the fall at Reichenbach. Using Moriarty as a distraction, Holmes extricates himself from the asylum." That is very different from what I played. Moriarty wasn't there at all. I'm bringing this up because of an interesting sidequest. In Chapter One, you can solve a bunch of crimes organized by this individual named "M," whom the player can easily deduce is Moriaty. In The Awakened, Mycroft asks Watson to investigate an agent of his, who is found dead and an M is written in his notebook in different handwriting. Upon reporting this to Mycroft, he immediately orders Watson to forget about everything and do not mention it to anyone, again hinting Moriaty. Considering this remake The Awakening takes place immediately after Chapter One, I'm wondering if the studio is leading us somewhere with this and there'll be another addition in the series where Holmes and Moriaty go head to head.
I did like playing it, but it's my least favorite in the series just because I'm not a big horror fan. I still say go for it, but I would recommend playing Chapter One first because they make lots of references to it, particularly when Mycroft talks about Sherlock's mental illness. (I wonder if that was in the original? They hadn't made Sherlock's dissociative disorders with Jon yet in this universe.) Just as I finished it, I saw they released The Testament of Sherlock Holmes on PSN, so I guess I gotta get that next. After, you know, Diablo IV, Tears of the Kingdom, and Final Fantasy XVI. Too many games released this year, man. Spider-Man 2 and Super Mario RPG is coming out later too.

My Game of the Week #1 - HUMANITY
My first Game of the Week will be HUMANITY! It's a challenging puzzler where you play as a dog, guiding humans to the light. In this thread, I'll explain some more, and give my thoughts. 1/15
Tumblr media
You may have seen this game before in a PlaySation State of Play. The game is availible on PS4/5, PSVR, amd Steam! Well deserved advertisement for an amazing game. So what's this game all about? 2/15
Tumblr media
So what is this game? Well, you have to create a path for the humans using your commands and the environment. I've heard comparisons to Lemmings, though I'm unfamiliar witht hat series. To me it's more like Mario vs Donkey Kong series with the mini robots. 3/15
Tumblr media
At the start, you have the "Turn" command, which as simple as telling which way the humans should go. Things get more complicated from there, and the game gives even more commands for you. It should be noted, what commands you have access to depends on what the map allows you to have. 4/15
Tumblr media
It's a straightforward puzzle game, but then they throw Goldies into the mix. Think of these as collectibles for 100% completion. On the path you create for the humans, they need to run into the Goldy to "collect" them, and they need to be escorted to the goal. 5/15
Tumblr media
Goldies can unlock bonus things like cosmetics and other features. Some levels may even requiere you to collect a Goldy to unlock the goal. It's a very nice bonus for those wanting do more than what's requiered. 6/15
Tumblr media
This game has an awesome feature that I haven't seen another puzzle game implement yet - Solutuion Videos! Feel like looking up a guide? You can view this video in the pause menu that'll help you complete the level - no guides needed! 7/15
Tumblr media
My favorite part of these videos is that they never reveal how to collect the Goldies (unless requiered). Even if you follow the video 1-to-1, there's still room for you to use your brain! Every puzzle has more than one path to the solution. 8/15
Tumblr media
There's also no punishment for watching the videos, meaning this game is one of the most accessible puzzle games out there. There's a stat counter that shows how may times you watched solution videos, but that's it. 9/15
Tumblr media
Spoliers - Towards the end of the game, they throw combat into the mix! While it's satisfying to watch thousands of guys shoot each other, I feel the puzzle implementation is a bit lacking in the final quarter of the game. 10/15
Tumblr media
Spoliers - You gain a command where the humans will directly follow you. Combined with combat, the puzzles place more emphasis on timing and precision rather than planning. Perhaps a welcome change of pace for some, but it was lacking for me. 11/15
Tumblr media
It's not all bad though! Even if you struggled with the last quarter like me, the solution videos got your back. I was able to complete all puzzles and (almost) collect all Goldies with no YouTube. 12/15
Tumblr media
Don't think a few hard puzzles at the end make the game bad - this is a very satisfying puzzle game that I recommend to all puzzle fans, and especially newcomers to the genre. 13/15
Tumblr media
Almost forgot, the custom stage builder! There's plenty of great puzzles made by the community and staff members, and you can build your own puzzles. I expect to find some hard ones out there! 14/15
Tumblr media
The game is on sale for $23 on Steam, and is free on PSN Plus Extra! Perfect time to jump in and check it out. Fantastic puzzle game for everyone to enjoy. 15/15 (End of thread!)

GBGL 2025 - Introduction!
Tumblr media
Hey there! I'm Sacro, or Krowe, or any other moniker you might have seen me go under before, I'm a bored uni student with simultaneously too much and too little time on my hands, and I really like games :) As of last year I made a resolution to start documenting my experience with games I love throughout the year, as a way to be able to look back on my year, and hopefully make a dent in my endless backlog.
This blog and it's contents, the Great Big Games List (GBGL) were inspired by the Backlog series by DarylTalksGames on Youtube. Ever since watching it I've taken the time to write reviews and little journal entries on each game that I finish, and it's been working out quite well as of so far! My 2024 results have already been filtered and collated earlier today (find them here!), meaning it's time to start the 2025 list.
This blog is mostly for myself, and I don't intend for many people to agree with my takes or opinions on games (I can have notoriously bad taste at times, hell, I rated Dragon's Dogma 2 an 80% last year regardless of it's many many issues). Regardless, if you stick around, feel free to send any recommendations you might have my way in the comments of posts or using the ask feature, I'm always down to add new a series to the list.
This year I'm hoping to try and be a little more conservative when it comes to my review scores, as my final score ended up being around 72~% on average. I'm not sure how I'll go about it, but I'll figure it out as we go.
I'll be making regular efforts to keep my howlongtobeat account up to date, also, which is linked below.
You can also find me on PSN @ sackofcrows and XBL @ Floorbeans
Score to beat is 31 games completed, excited to see how this goes!

Third person single player game recommendations ps4/5
Third person single player game recommendations ps4/5 Hi! Looking for a potential third person shooter game but I’m a bit stumped, not really in the mood to replay some old favourites and scrolling through the psn store is tragic these days with all the shovelware and stuff bloating the games it’s hard to see anything that jumps out at you.Preferably a shorter game something a bit more linear, just finished a fairly long game so wanting something shorter for now, was going to finally do my uncharted crushing runs for the platinum but not really ready for them yet and don’t want to get too frustrated by dying all the time as I’m not that good Thanks! "Top Common Issues with Sony Laptops and How to Fix Them"
Sony, a leading electronics brand, is known for its high-quality devices like smartphones, TVs, gaming consoles, and laptops. However, like any tech manufacturer, Sony products may occasionally encounter issues that users experience across multiple devices. Here are some common problems associated with Sony electronics and possible solutions:
1. Overheating
Issue: Overheating is a common complaint, particularly with Sony’s gaming consoles like the PlayStation series and some of their laptops. Prolonged use or placing the device in a poorly ventilated area can cause it to overheat, leading to performance issues or unexpected shutdowns.
Solution: Ensure proper ventilation and avoid using the device on soft surfaces like beds or couches, which can block air vents. For PlayStations, users can install cooling pads or stands to improve airflow. Cleaning dust from fans and vents can also help reduce overheating.
2. Battery Drain and Charging Issues
Issue: Sony smartphones, particularly older Xperia models, have been reported to suffer from rapid battery drain or issues with charging. This is often caused by software bugs, faulty batteries, or problems with charging ports.
Solution: Check for software updates that may fix battery-related bugs. If the issue persists, recalibrate the battery by letting it fully drain and then fully recharge. For persistent charging port issues, try cleaning the port or consider professional repair if it’s a hardware fault.
3. Screen and Display Issues
Issue: Many Sony Bravia TV users report screen issues such as flickering, image retention, or dead pixels. Similarly, Xperia phone users sometimes face problems with touch sensitivity or screen freezes.
Solution: For TV screen problems, adjusting the refresh rate or resetting the TV to factory settings often resolves the issue. If it’s a hardware problem (e.g., dead pixels), contacting Sony support for repairs or replacement is advisable. For smartphones, ensuring that the screen isn’t physically damaged and updating the software are good first steps.
4. PlayStation Network (PSN) Connectivity Problems
Issue: PlayStation gamers frequently experience issues connecting to the PlayStation Network (PSN), especially during system updates or network maintenance periods.
Solution: First, check the PSN status via Sony's official website or social media. If PSN is functional, reboot the console and router. You may also need to update the console’s firmware or check for ISP-related issues.
5. Audio and Speaker Issues
Issue: Some users report that their Sony audio systems, including home theaters and wireless headphones, experience audio dropouts, poor sound quality, or problems connecting to devices via Bluetooth.
Solution: Ensure firmware is up-to-date and try resetting the device. Bluetooth connection issues can often be solved by forgetting and re-pairing the devices.
In conclusion, while Sony products are generally reliable, they are not immune to issues. Users can often resolve minor problems through regular maintenance, firmware updates, and troubleshooting steps. For persistent or severe issues, professional repairs or contacting Sony support is recommended.
