How Long, O Lord? (Psalm 80)
What do you do when your life is not going as expected? How do you deal with the confusion of unwanted circumstances you didn’t ask for?
Hear us, Shepherd of Israel, you who lead Joseph like a flock. You who sit enthroned between the cherubim, shine forth before Ephraim, Benjamin and Manasseh.Awaken your might; come and save us. Restore us, O God; make your face shine on us, that we may be saved. How long, Lord God Almighty, will your anger smolder against the prayers of your people? You have fed them with the…

"Restore Us, O God!" -- Dean Kelly
Psalm 80 centers on the psalmist basically crying out, “Hear me, O God! I need you!” Repeated three times at logical dividing points within the psalm is the plea, “Restore us, O God; cause Your face to shine, and we shall be saved!” (vs. 3, 7, 19). The psalm is identified as a psalm of Asaph, along with psalms 50 and 73-83. Asaph was a skilled singer and poet, as was David (2 Chr. 29:30). He…

by Nathan Eshelman | There’s a certain level of honesty that is needed when we assess where we are as the Great Lakes Gulf Presbytery of the RPCNA. It has been said that in the last several years—a vacuum of leadership has happened among us—and this has caused us to ask who we are as a presbytery. There was a time when Dr. Roy Blackwood was younger and this presbytery was being built...

Psalm 119: 73-80. Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn Thy commandments. They that fear Thee will be glad when they see me; because I have hoped in Thy word. I know, O LORD, that Thy judgments are right, and that Thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me. Let, I pray thee, Thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to Thy word unto thy…

Psalm 80:18 Be Revived And Call On God
Then we will not turn back from You; revive us, and we will call upon Your name. Psalm 80:18 Some people like to give new life to old things. They take the time to restore something and bring it back to looking new with a new life. Going through antique stores and searching through yard sales, some will find things that can be cleaned up, repaired and revived from the dusty old shelves in a…

A Supernatural Invasion of God
By Greg Laurie “Then we will not turn back from You; revive us, and we will call upon Your name.” —Psalm 80:18 We can’t create a revival. We can’t organize a revival. But we can agonize in prayer for a revival. A revival is a supernatural invasion of God. It is something that God does for us and not something we do for Him. One person defined revival as a community saturated with God. Richard…
