2. Least favourite set? Oh, I'm sorry but I don't want to answer that 😅 I've deleted any I really don't like, but I will say there's a set that keeps popping up in my notifs where I'm like 'really, that one again???' But that's all I will say. People like what they like.

3. The set with the most notes? This one with 1559 notes. I'm happy with that, it's a good set. The ones with Connor in them tend to do well.

5. Favourite movie/tv show to gif? dbh is my main fandom so yeah, dbh but more specifically, Markus. I just love giffing him, it's almost therapeutic at this stage.

7. Who are my top 3 gifmakers? @thirium @aghostinmyownmachine @mijchi for dbh gifs and also shout out to @babyjapril who is not a dbh giffer but her gifs are always incredible (sorry for the random tag ana).

13. Where and/or from whom did you learn to gif? I'm mostly self-taught but I have relied on a few tutorials here and there.

17. How many gifs do you prefer in a set? I guess 2? That's how many I usually make in a set, so that must be my preference. I do like a 4 set too though.

19. What I'd my giffing process like? Very on the fly, lol. I check to see if I have the footage I want, if I don't I screen record the scene I need. I upload that into ps, trim the clip to what I need, change the speed and crop. Then I brighten and colour them to whatever I'm feeling at the time. I always sharpen last. It's what takes the longest and I sometimes have to finick with the settings a bit until it looks nice on tumblr.

23. What's the thing you gif when you don't have anything else to gif? Take a wild guess. It's my boy ofc

29. Have you ever posted a set, realised you made a mistake later but realised it was too late? Oh yes many a time. Usually on sets with text and I made a typo. That's happens pretty often 😅 I usually go back and fix them anyway but then the old versions still get reblogged lol

31. Do you schedule/queue posts or do you post as soon as you're done? I usually post when I'm done. If I'm not really happy with a set, I'll save them to drafts and look at them later. If I decide they're actually OK, I'll post them, if not, I redo them. But I don't schedule posts, I'm too impatient.

37. What sets do you have planned to make in the future? There are a few sets I'm waiting to do when my skills catch up to my visions. But right now? There's a quote gifset I want to make with Markus but it will require time I just don't have right now.

41. Least favourite part of the gifmaking process? Oh my god, uploading to tumblr. I never really know what gifs are going to look good. Sometimes I'll spend ages on a set, upload to tumblr and it look like ass, so I have to redo the whole thing. It's infuriating.

43. Do you keep videos or delete them once you're done giffing? I keep them unless I need the space. I'm pretty lazy like that hahaha

47. Any advice for novice gif makers/people who want to start making gifs? Gif tutorials are your friend. I'm mostly self-taught but whenever I get really stuck, I search for gif tutorials. They are incredibly helpful.

Well, this fanfic is not finished yet, still at the beginning even, so I can't really tell anything about the plot. However, I can tell some information about the characters!

So in this AU Leon gets stuck in the universe where dwk was never a thing and guys are just on their own. Here Leon lives with his mom, while Marlon lives with their dad. For some reason he dislikes his little bro. Well, hate is a proper word. And, as I've already mentioned under this post, Marlon somehow hooks up with the Unbeatables and becomes a part of their band.

As for the others:

Markus has become this rich kid asshole, that doesn't talk with anyone who's not worthy. It is not clear yet, but it's most likly because of his parents' pressure.

Deniz is that lonely kid that sits in the back and listens to music. He seems to be not really communicative, but once you start a conversation with him, he will talk and talk and talk... He's probably the only person Leon gets along with in this AU. Well, more or less.

Vanessa is this stereotypical pretty girl. Not the dumb girl stereotype, but a shy, humble housewife with a shitty boyfriend. She wears dresses, braids her hair, and stuff. Leon is jealous, because this fanfic contains Leon/Vanessa ship.

Raban here is more bold and kind of a brat that comes to school late. He also hates Leon for some reason and doesn't wear glasses.

What happened to Jojo is not clear so far, but he left the school and I assume that it's because of bullying.

Actually, BrightDawn's fanfics are my favorite because they dive into psychology and character study, which I adore. She has other great fanfics, like the one with Vanessa's grandma death and Leon's birthday.

I don't know, maybe I will even translate her works on AO3. With her permission, of course.

Wow! We never expected so many visitors in our first couple weeks. Thank you all so much for your support so far!

I wanted to give a very brief update about the sanctuary and a little bit of info about myself.

Currently, we have over 300 friends at the sanctuary. Many of these friends are in what we call 'stasis'. All this means is that these friends are asleep, kind of like how you and I go to bed at night. Don't worry though, our friends don't remember being in stasis, no matter how much time passes, and they can pick up as though they were in a brief rest. This generally means that they are put away for now. Again, don't worry, they're perfectly fine, climate controlled, and not squishing each other.

For those of you wondering about the stories on the posts, I experience something known as 'object sentience'. While I am not objectum, I feel as though these friends are speaking to me and telling me about themselves. It's a bit difficult to explain to someone if they don't experience this, and it may seem kind of strange. It's not controversial, per se, but a lot of folks find it weird or off-putting. This is something I've experienced my whole life. Perhaps it is a result of being neurodivergent (I have autism, and I don't mind people first or identity first language for myself), but it makes me feel like all things have a soul: rocks, microwaves, chairs, etc. For instance, I have a favorite cup (which is something many people have), but sometimes I feel like the other cups feel neglected (which is the part most folks don't experience).

Anyway, that's enough about me for one day. As I said, thank you all so much for your support these first couple weeks. We have a lot of friends who still want to share stories with us, and we hope you like them as much as we do!

Thanks for asking me this :)  Well my passion for dwarves as a race and culture was born long before I knew Tolkien's world. Actually, it's embarrassing to say, but it's the plain truth: I got interested in dwarves because at the time I was dating a very short guy who was passionate about D&D and dwarves. So I started reading Markus Heitz's books and becoming interested in dwarves.

Then I met Jerard who introduced me to Tolkien's world, first LOTR and then The Hobbit.  But at the time I was more interested in other fandoms and I didn't get much into it. Until early 2020, when we watched The Hobbit again and I fell in love with just about everything!!

As for the ideas and thoughts, those arise from my constantly racing mind. It's like a steam train that with every turn of the wheel he screams "What if" or "It could be" or "and if it were"... things like that. It is impossible to stop it! I often think of nonsense, but the important thing is that these thoughts amuse me first!

An immediate thought: I think Thorin is on a diet, when he arrives in Bag End he is content to eat only one plate of soup despite the fact that he has faced a very long journey (it could have been shorter if he had not got lost). Well, even if innate, the majestic must be cultivated!

dear god, the number of times i've come across connor/oc fic in which the oc (usually a white person) is a cop or "has a thing for cops" like wtf? someone call pest control, because these bootlickers are everywhere.

ksjsakldsaldsladska deadass that’s why i avoid the connor/ofc(oc for that matter) like it’s death incarnate. the problem that dbh authors (me included) tend to do is to make the reader/character a cop because it’s easy. hey, you want the reader to be a part of the story, so what’s the “logical” answer? make them a c*p. make them be partners with connor, or a trio with hank and connor (yes, not to be a bootlicker but i know detectives often work in groups on a case). what a lot of us fail to recognize is that connor wouldn’t want to go back to a place that abused him and caused harm to his people. even bryan said it himself that connor wouldn’t go back to the DPD and if memory serves me correctly, bryan also said that connor would love to travel and take in the world around him (please, i beg y’all to believe me i’m not a dechartian oh gosh i just know these things okay...). connor is very much defund and abolish the police. fuck blue lives !!

so, where do we go from here? what can authors write connor instead? what is connor good at...he’s good at communication and helping others. you saw what he did for the revolution; he wants to be a part of that not out of obligation to absolve his sins, but because he genuinely cares about his people. connor could work alongside markus and the jericrew to continue fighting for android personhood. if you want, he could also be a private detective because of his skill set where he doesn’t directly work with the p*lice but still helps out people. if y’all are big brained enough, perhaps you can see connor as a doctor or a surgeon because of the skills programmed in him. i see connor being very hands on in his community, whether that be androids or humans or both. if y’all got any other suggestions of what connor would do instead of going back to the place that harmed him and people like him, HOLLA because i always love hearing about what everyone would do post-dbh.

8. Is there a character you love writing for the most? the least? why?

Besides Connor of course, I really like writing Officer Person. Yeah, the argument can be made that all of the DPD characters are pretty much OCs with canon face claims since they didn’t get any characterization aside from Hank, Fowler, and Gavin, but I am very pleased with the way Person has developed in Detroit 07. She has distinctly different dynamics when talking to each of the other characters. Mostly she only really relaxes and opens up around Connor, and she has walled herself off from everybody else. She’s starting to mellow out, and the strong friendship that she has developed with Connor has been a huge part of that. I like writing her journey of figuring out how to keep friends.

I haven’t written much for the Jericrew yet. I think I have Markus and North’s voices figured out, but I guess I could say I least enjoy writing Simon and/or Josh just because I haven’t done enough of it yet to feel like I have their voices right. But I’ll get there.

Carla stuck her nose in the air but let Oliver usher her toward their car, while Janet lingered, facing Connor.

“I’m sorry,” she said lowly. “She shouldn’t be like this…” She took a breath, then released it, changing tact. “Do you need anything? A ride? Human analgesic spray works on androids in a pinch if your arm’s really hurting you—“

“Thank you, but I’m okay,” he promised. “I think you and Oliver have your hands full right now anyway,” he said with a smirk.

Janet returned the grin, and she moved in again, this time only putting her arm around his good side in a gentle squeeze.

“All right, but don’t work too hard. Take care of yourself.”

“You are aware that androids have a higher degree of stamina and endurance than humans with similar—“

She shushed him and snorted. “Just give me a hug and say ‘yes, ma’am,’ okay?”

Connor deflated, smiled, and returned her half hug. “Yes, ma’am.”
