Basecamp Belltown Prep What show preparation looks like in my world. Lots of sketches and drafts planning the show layout and never feeling like I have enough pieces while I'm desperately feeling like I need to create "the right piece for the right space🤣 Which is funny for everyone who knows that I have MORE than enough work and the night before my show opens, I'll be in my studio creating "breakthrough" pieces that are sure to change the context of the show that I've already spent weeks planning. I was just banned from a print shop I've been using for the last several months because my artwork "Goes Against Community Standards". I ordered a 5ftX7ft poster of this image from DeeKay Studios to u in a collage constructing my seminal piece in my 'Welcome Home' show at @base.camp.studios in March, but alas, they were afraid this image would tramatize "the children", who apparently would somehow manage to wander unsupervised around their printers. And why this image? What's so offensive or traumatizing? As if the actuality of war isn't what's really traumatic. Oh this culture.
