TMAG Theory Board Update (EP 11-12)
Hi guys sorry about the late posting I've just started a new quarter of college and its been pretty hectic. also got into my school design BFA program so pretty stoked about that! Anyways lets get into the Episode Breakdowns because even though not a lot of lore related things happened I still have a lot to talk about
Tumblr media
For the breakdown I'll separate each by episode in sequential order
What Happened in Episode 11: Marked
Tumblr media
Celias Rude Awakening- we jump right into the weirdness straight away with Celia waking up on the side of the interstate. she indicates that this is not a weird occurrence and ends the scene by telling someone named Jack that she's "on her way." If you remember episode 8 after Celia and Sam talk to Gerry and Gertrude, she mentions stuff about wanting help with her own mystery. When Sam asks about it she says she's looking into Time travel, other dimentions and teleportation. Many people have theorized that maybe Celia is just a super heavy sleepwalker, but I think the she teleports random places out of nowhere. This could be a side effect of her reality hopping if this Celia is originally from The archives universe.
As for the identity of Jack I'm not quite sure about that yet. I cross referenced the name Jack with past episodes of TMA. The only thing that came up was Jack Barnabas from the statement about dating Agnes Montague (aka an avatar of the desolation and Jesus-like figure for the cult of the lightless flame) So Unless Celia is secretly Agnes of Agnes reincarnated , I can't find any way to link Barnabas to Celia. (if anyone has a theory feel free to send it my way.)
Tumblr media
Sam Lore- this one is pretty minor story-wise but I thought it was interesting. Before the statement for the episode is presented we get some classic Sam and Alice Banter ™ most of it is pretty lighthearted but I noticed Sam mention something that could indicate he might be an amputee.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These could not mean anything and I find it weird that it hasn't been mentioned until now but thought it was kind of cool and I will probably be drawing sam with a prothetic leg in the future cause I really like this head-canon. It also begs to question if he is missing a leg. it might have anything to do with his past as a Magnus institute test subject but then again could just be a fun character detail added by Jonny and/or Alex .
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Statement- Getting into the statement we get another Ink5oul appearance. Also possible Ink5oul identifying as she/they. (and lets be honest being a fear avatar is pretty non binary core). I found this Episode gave me a feeling of a hybrid between the Vast, Buried and the Flesh some people are theorizing that is might be a new entity called the Deep but I think that the fear of the ocean could easily apply to the vast or buried. Not much to say about this story though pretty standard Magnus horror that also gave us a hint to what Ink5oul's goal could be/which entity they serve.
Tumblr media
Post Bonzo- Gwen has a debrief with Lena after her first Externals Liason assignment and her meeting with Mr. Bonzo. Undoubtedly Gwen is still pretty shaken from her encounter, even arriving late to work due to sleeplessness. Gwen is able to ask Lena a few questions mainly she wanted to know who's name was written on the letter given to Bonzo
Lena is largely unhelpful but tells Gwen she should have worked it out by now and if not to pay close attention to the case load for the next couple of days. before the latest episode my guess was Klaus because that is the only person mentioned so far that the OIAR intends to kill. but more on that later
Marked- Now were getting to my favorite thing about this episode. This episode title can have two meanings. The first is the more literal interpretation. Tattoos are marking of the body and the case this episode was all about tattoos so easily a good name would be marked. But I believe this is a red herring meant to misguide listeners who have not consumed all 200 episodes of TMA because if you know the world of Magnus Archives the term Marked takes on a entirely different meaning.
In TMA the term marked is used to indicate that somebody has been influenced by one or more or the fears and are one their way to becoming an Avatar. I think this could be a coded way to tell the audience someone in the OIAR has been marked. I have two potential candidates
Alice Dyer- Alice has been having dreams about the Institute after her and Sam's adventure into the ruins. also she mentions feeling like someone's watching her (common to people influenced or fed upon by the Ceaseless Watcher/The Eye) My guess if she is marked it would be by the Eye.
Gwendolyn Bouchard: Probably the most likely culprit. The main way an entitly tends to mark people is through encounters with other avatars. Gwen has just had an encounter with Mr Bonzo last episode who I strongly believe must be an avatar of some sort.
What Happened in Episode 12: Getting Off
Tumblr media
Aww Sam!!- Sam asked Celia out and it was adorably awkward. not much to say I just loved this interaction and I'm longing for a new Magnus brand office romance hopefully is wont be an agonizing slowburn that ends tragically like a certain pair of morons from Archives (I love you Jon and Martin but Jesus christ)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's Bonzo time bitches!!- Probably one of the most gruesome Magnus statement I've ever listened to (good work Alex) Mr Bonzo completely annihilated some poor dude at his bachelor party. Based on the date of the Incident the I can confidently say that whoever Baz (the groom) was he was our mystery person the OIAR sent Mr Bonzo to get rid of. Along with some of the bloodiest imagery we learned a few things about Bonzo. The most interesting detail is that Bonzo has to be summoned by playing his theme song I think the CD of his theme song acts somewhat like the tapes did in TMA by materialising out of nowhere. Also fun fact you know that torn seam that is right down Bonzo's middle? that is actually is his mouth lined with rows sharp teeth so I guess I know that now (so fun) Moral of the story dont f*ck with Mr. Bonzo
Tumblr media
Alice knows something: Theres been this recurring audio glitch throughout TMAGP thatnks to a few extremly observent fans we have started to relize that these glitches are not at all random and are actually letting the audience know when a character is lying (i actually reposted somones deepdive into all the istances of this glitch so far if you guys are intrested in knowing more) why i bring this up now is becuase since we know when any charater is lying we also know when they are being truthful if there is no glitch when they say somthing and at the end of this episode this interaction occurs
Tumblr media
Alice goes ahead and makes a joke about this to annoy Gwen but the fact theres no audio glitch when she says "I know" means she does actually know who is behind the OIAR and is activly refusing to share it with Gwen or the others. What do you know Alice!?
and that's about it im already loving these next batch of episodes and am so excited to learn more (ERROR has to show up somtime )
thanks to everyone who resonded the poll on the last update I will continue to include drawings into the breakdown even if it takes me a little bit of time to post. anyways I wrote this all in one sitting and I'm about ready to pass out so thanks again and the ask box and comments are always open for discussion and theory crafting.

Gift Of The Night Fury
Hiccup x F! Reader
2ndPOV
This is Berk, boasting the kind of balmy, fun-in-the-sun climate that will give you frostbite on your spleen.
One of the upsides on this bland island is our annual holiday. We call it Snoggletog.
Why we chose such a stupid name remains a mystery. But with the war long over.
A roar was heard outside of the Chiefs house, alerting the boy who was originally fast asleep before opening his eyes at the sound.
And dragons living among us.
He threw his blanket over his head, groaning as the house shook slightly, dust falling from the ceiling as another roar echoed throughout.
This year's Snoggletog promises to be one to remember.
The boy eventually rolled out of bed, eyes still closed from being sleepy. "Okay, okay, I'm coming." He muttered to himself, sitting up and reaching for his helmet that was on the bed frame by his feet. He grabbed it and placed it over his head before standing up and walking out of his house.
He threw his arms over his head when he stood outside, yawning as he shuttered from the cold. He looked on his roof and saw the Night Fury who cooed down to Hiccup. "Well, good morning, Mr. Bossy!" He teased with a smile.
Toothless let out a rumble, almost sounding like a laugh, watching Hiccup as he walked around the house.
Hiccup smiled, imitating his growl as the dragon climbed down from the roof carefully. "Do you always have to wake me up so early to go flying-" He asked before yelping, his metal foot scraping the ice.
Before he fell, Toothless caught him, pushing his upright with his snout and gently placing him away from the icy spot.
"Stupid leg." He groaned, kicking the snow slightly. He stumbled back as Toothless grumbled softly, eager to get flying. "Oh, thanks, buddy, I'm okay. Yeah, we can go flying now."
Toothless went silent before burping in his face, making the boy stumble back in disgust.
"Eww, eww, what? Eww! Argh! Toothless." Hiccup whined, chuckling as Toothless nuzzles his face into his palm.
Toothless dived under Hiccup, slipping him onto his back before flying over to your house, heading to D/N shack that was built near your room.
"Toothless!" Hiccup laughed, patting his head softly as the dragon pounced on the roof, cooing softly which woke up D/N. "Y/N sleeping, bud! She's probably not gonna join us for flying today." He paused, snorting as he heard you whine from inside the house before shuffling was heard.
"I'm up, I'm up!" You cried, stretching as you walked out of your house, screaming when both dragons jumped in front of your path.
"Oh, well good morning, m'lady." Hiccup smiled, slipping off Toothless and walking over to you, wrapping an arm around your waist as he gently kissed your cheek.
"Good morning." You grinned, hugging him tightly before petting D/N who shoved her face into your back. "Flying already?" You looked over to the brunette, fixing his Viking helmet that was placed lopsided on his head.
Hiccup nodded, sighing sadly. "Guess so. Come on, let's leave before everyone wakes up." He jumped back onto Toothless, smiling as you got situated on D/N.
•••
Toothless and D/N shot through the clouds, soaring peacefully before diving back down into the clouds.
"Come on! Let's see what you two got today!" Hiccup beamed.
The two dragons shot straight down the side of a cliff, D/N purring happily as the wind hit her face.
"WHOOO-HOOO!" Hiccup cheered, making you laugh as you threw your arms out to your sides when they glided over the water.
"Okay, you ready?" Hiccup asked, setting the prothetic fin into place before standing on Toothless' back, making him grunt out in worry. "Easy..."
"Hiccup, maybe you sho-" You started, gasping when you saw him jump over a cliff, Toothless going under the rock with D/N and you, before catching him on the other side. You sighed in relief when Toothless' fin opened back up.
"Yes! Finally!" The boy cheered, glad that they finally got the trick down.
D/N gurgled in displeasure, shaking her head before flying off to the side from Toothless and Hiccup.
"Boys, am I right?" You unhooked yourself and turned to face the opposite way, lying down with a sigh. You patted her side as she huffed in agreement, making you smile softly.
•••
"Here?" A viking called out to Gobber, holding up a shield as they sat on a Gronckle.
"Yes, yes, nooo, nooo, no, that one a wee bit higher!" Gobber instructed.
"Here?" They asked again, moving the decoration.
"There! Ah, that's the spot!" He beamed, smiling as Stoick patted him on the shoulder.
"Alright!"
A small boy jumped in front of Meatlug, playfully roaring before running off with a laugh when Meatlug roared back, chasing him in a playful manner.
"Attaboy, Meatlug!" Fishlegs cheered, watching his dragon from the top of a ladder.
Astrid looked at Stormfly, two shields in hand. "Are you ready, girl?" She beamed, encouraging her dragon. She smiled when Stormfly flexed her tail spikes before throwing them up.
Stormfly nailed them into the wooden tree with the spikes, cooing as Astrid thanked her.
"Odin's beard, Gobber. Vikings spending the winter holiday with dragons. What would our fathers say?" Stoick laughed, walking around with the blond in tow.
"They'd think we'd lost our minds!" He chuckled.
Stoick laughed, turning to the group of Vikings that stood around. "Well done. Well done, all of you! I've never thought I'd live to see this day. Peace on the island of Berk."
Astrid smiled as she scratched Stormfly's chin, giggling as she rubbed her face against her check.
"This will surely be the greatest holiday, we've ever seen!" Stoick finished, making the crowd cheer, some of the dragons roaring in excitement.
A low rumble echoed through Berk, making all the dragons perk up. Their eyes turned into slits at the sound.
"What the...?!" Stoick gasped, confused on what was going on.
Looking up, a flock of dragons flew over the island.
"What in Thor's name?!" Gobber gasped, never seeing anything like it.
Soon, all the dragons joined in on the flock, leaving everyone confused on where their dragon's were going.
"Come back! Where are you going?" Snotlout begged Hookfang, dangling from someone's rooftop as he watched his dragon fly off without setting him down onto the ground.
Fishlegs let out a gasp, his eyes going wide. "Meatlug!" He screamed before running off.
Everyone watched in horror, not knowing what to do in this situation, since, this never happened before.
Astrid gasped, looking around as she spoke. "Where's Y/N and Hiccup?" She whispered to herself, looking up again with a worried look on her face.
•••
"What do you say, you two? Wanna go again?" Hiccup smiled down at Toothless, patting his neck while looking at D/N before snapping his attention onto you when you gasped.
"WATCH OUT!" You screamed, holding on as D/N dodged and weaved past the crowd of dragons in the sky. You gasped in horror as you watched Toothless dive for the water, D/N following as you screamed. "HICCUP, WHAT HAPPENED?!"
"M-MY HELMET!" He replied, trying to stop Toothless. "IT FELL OFF!!"
"WHAT?!"
Toothless eventually stopped diving, D/N joint his side as they looked at the brunette in confusion.
"We'll get it later, bud." He reassured his dragon once you were in ear shot. He glanced at you before looking at Berk. "We need to get back and find out what's going on."
•••
"What's the matter? Where are you going?" A viking asked his Monstrous Nightmare, sighing when it flew off.
"Nonono! Don't leave, Stormfly, don't go!" Astrid begged, running to her dragon as Stormfly flew off. "Please?"
You landed on Berk, slipping off of D/N with Toothless and Hiccup by your side.
"Astrid!" You called out, running over to your sister.
Astrid spotted you and made her way over to you. "Y/N! What's going on? Where are they going?" She asked, worried for the dragons.
Hiccup joined your side, placing his hand on your shoulder. He went to open his mouth before Vikings surrounded the three of you.
"Why did they leave?"
"What's happening?"
"Will they ever come back?”
"Stop! Wait!" Hiccup yelled over the chatter, placing his hands up in defense.
"Calm down!" Stoick's voice boomed, faintly ringing in people's ears. He pushed his way through the crowd, making his way to his son and you. "Give them a chance to speak! Hiccup, Y/N, where are all our dragons going?"
Hiccup looked up at his father, his brows knitting together slightly. "Dad...we don't know." Hiccup muttered out, shaking his head slightly.
You turned to look over the edge of the land, your eyes going vast when you saw D/N roaring and cooing at Toothless, trying to get him to fly with the crowd. You slowly walked in their direction before sprinting over. "D/N? D/N, wait!" You cried, stumbling slightly before coming to a halt as you watched her join Stormfly with the others.
•••
Night eventually came and everyone went to the hall for a meeting about the current events that happened with the dragons.
"Where'd they go?!"
"Snoggletog is ruined!"
"It's not ruined!" Stoick called out over the chatter, silencing everyone quickly. He stepped into the wood that surrounded the fire pit that was indented in the middle of the room. "We're Vikings! We've been perfectly happy celebrating without dragons for generations! And there's no reason we can't do it again!"
You sighed heavily, resting your head on Hiccup's stomach as you tilted your head back.
Astrid, Hiccup and Snotlout leaned on the pillar while Tuff and you sat in chairs. Ruff stood behind her brother, groaning softly. And Fishlegs was in his own world, none of you really bothered him.
"Now we don't know where they've gone off to. But we have to have faith that they'll be back again soon. Am I right?" Stoick finished, trying to elevate everyone's spirits.
"You're right, we are Vikings! We are tough!" Gobber threw his interchangeable hand in the air, the sound of bells ringing as he moved.
The nearby Vikings chuckled as they saw his festive outfit; an antler helmet with holly, some softly glowing lanterns and his bell stick.
"Most of the time..." He gushed, making people laugh loudly. "Let's sing some Snoggletog songs!"
Snotlout scoffed before walking off, Ruff following closely behind. Tuff stoop up and followed his sister with Astrid. Hiccup helped you off your seat before walking off with you, Fishlegs paces behind as he hummed happily.
The seven of you walked around for a moment, all of you staying silent.
"That was depressing..." Ruff interrupted the silence in a mopey tone.
"I know!" Astrid looked at Tuff before looking at the ground. "Y/N and I were looking forward to spending the holiday with Stormfly and D/N."
Tuff glared at Fishlegs as he began to whistle, like there wasn't a care in the world. "What are you so happy about? Don't you miss Meatlug?"
"Me?" Fishlegs gasped, halting before faking sobbing. "Oh! Yeah! I miss him so much!"
The six of you stared at the blond with open mouths, giving him strange looks which made him gulp nervously.
"Well, good night!" He quickly ran off, leaving the six of you appalled.
"What...just...happened?" You whispered to Snotlout which made him snort loudly, the two of you laughing as you watched him scurry off.
"I've got an idea!" Astrid beamed with a gasp, catching everyone's attention. "Let's come up with a bunch of new holiday traditions! You know, to bury the sadness!"
Tuff, Ruff, Snotlout and you collectively groan sadly, slouching as you all remembered your dragons.
"Actually." Hiccup spoke up after a moment. "Astrid might be on to something."
Tuff rolled his eyes with a 'tch' slightly glaring at the brunette. "Easy for you to say. Your dragon can't go anywhere without you." He pointed to Toothless who was at a small cliff, looking around with a grumble. Tuff whipped his head to you, throwing his arms around dramatically. "I'm surprised your dragon left him. She hardly leaves his side."
You nodded with a sarcastic chuckle. "Tell me about it." You crossed your arm.
"Must be nice." Ruff patted your shoulder, watching Toothless as well before walking off with her brother, Astrid, and Snotlout.
You looked at Hiccup, watching as his brows knitted together as your shoulders dropped while walking in front of him. "Hiccup, you better not have a crazy idea."
He turned his attention onto you, kissing your check before running to his house. "I'll be at the forge tomorrow, be there okay!"
•••
Three kids hugged the snow Gronckle they made, the little girl leaning on it as she sighs.
"Yaknog! Get your Yaknog! Come on! Get a frothy delicious cup of cheer!" She beamed, gasping when she saw the twins and Snotlout. "Hey, you guys! Try this tasty new beverage I made for the holidays."
Tuffnut sniffed the drink before recoiling. "Ugh! What's that smell? Is that you?" He gasped, looking at Ruffnut before shoving her away.
"It's Yaknog!" She smiled, pouring the thick, chunky 'drink' into the empty cup.
Tuff gasps in disgust before coughing as he backed up. "Ugh! If I drink that I'm gonna yak nog all over the place!" He whined.
"Maybe you'd rather taste a punch in the face?" She threatened with a smile.
Ruff sniffed the drink as well before groaning in disgust.
Snotlout strutted over to the girl, a grin on his lips as he took one of the cups off the shield she was holding. "Astrid, it sounds delightful. I'd love a mug." He took a sip, immediately gagging before forcing himself to swallow the beverage. "You could really taste the yak!" He set the drink back down, smacking his lips as his stretched his hand.
"Mmm, yum!" Fishlegs beamed, running into Tuff which sent him flying. "What is that?"
"Oh! You wanna try some? It's my new traditional drink." Astrid beamed to the blonde teen, holding up the tray of drinks.
Fishlegs looked behind Astrid, noticing Snotlout peering behind, shaking his head as he flashed him a look of worry. Fishlegs took the hint, immediately backing away. "Oh...You know...Ehm...I have...suddenly inexplicably changed my mind." He watched Astrid move around, worried for her next victim.
"Well, you don't know what you're missing." She defended her drink, heading to the forge. "I bet Y/N and Hiccup will love this."
Ruff glanced to Lout, gasping as she leaned into his face as he held his stomach and moaned in discomfort. "Are you crying?"
•••
"AND! Get this; she might have a crush on him, too!" You gasped, lightly hitting the boy who stood on your left.
Hiccup chuckled, holding his hand out before taking the tool you placed in his grasp. "You don't say?" He smiled, looking up at you as you were planted onto the work table he was working at.
You nodded, a grin forming on your lips. "This has to be our little secret." You placed a finger over his lips, making him grin. "She'd kill me if someone found out-I'M not even supp-!"
"Y/N? Hiccup?" Astrid called out for the two of you.
You froze, your mouth wide open when you heard Astrid's voice. You quietly pushed yourself off of the table before tiptoeing to some boxes to hide behind.
Hiccup watched you with a dumbfounded expression. "What are you doing, N/N?" He breathed out, laughing lightly.
"Astrid made a new 'drink' and it's not for human consumption." You warned softly. "We opened every single door and window in the house due to the...the stench."
The brunette winced, giggling softly. "That's horrible."
You nodded, hiding behind the stack of boxes. "It is!" You whined. "Might need to stay the n-."
"Hellooo? Y/N? Hiccup?"
You gulped, peeking over to Hiccup. "I'm not here!" You whisper shouted, making him nod. "And do not take the drink!”
"Yeah, I'm over here, Astrid. Coming!" Hiccup flashed you a thumbs up before greeting your sister at the front of the forge.
"Here. Happy holidays!" She smiled, holding out the shield for him to take a mug. "Where's Y/N? I thought she was with you?"
Hiccup turned away from his invention and to the cups, smiling as he took one before going back to his project. "Thank you, Astrid! This is really kind of you." He tilted his head side to side a few times. "She said she's meeting up with my father; had to give her a talking about something."
Astrid nodded, smiling as she wiggled some of her fingers while holding onto the shield. "What can I say!" She giggled, looking at the table. "What are you up to?"
"Okay, you're gonna think I'm crazy, but I just couldn't stop thinking about what Tuffnut said last night." Hiccup waved her off slightly, placing the cup down for a moment. "Toothless can't come and go like the other dragons, and that's just not fair; especially for him and D/N, they can't go on flights without me or Y/N guiding Toothless. I was up all night and I think I found a way to fix that." Hiccup took a sip of the drink, completely forgetting about your warning you gave.
Big mistake.
Hiccup gagged, shuttering as he tried to swallow the thick drink but was unable too, keeping it in his mouth.
"No way! You built him a new tail? So he's gonna be able to fly without you!" Astrid smiled, keeping her attention on the tail and not noticing the struggle Hiccup was going through.
"Hmhm!" He hummed, his voice cracking slightly.
"Wow, what a great gift!" She nodded excitedly.
Hiccup sets the cup far away from him, chuckling awkwardly. "Hmhm..."
"What if he never comes back?" Astrid asked. "And same with D/N! Y/N would be so devastated"
Hiccup perked up at your name, nodding his slightly at the thought of the two dragons not returning. "Mh..." He sadly hummed.
"What am I saying?" Astrid snickered, rolling her eyes at the crazy thought. "Of course they will!"
"Mhm!"
"Well, I'm going spread some more holiday cheer!" Astrid backed up, holding the tray with a smile. "I'll tell Y/N you said hi!"
Hiccup watched as the blond ran off, once she was far enough he spat out the Yaknog onto the floor.
You appeared out of your hiding spot, groaning softly. "Okay, that's disgusting." You shuttered at the spit and Yaknog on the ground, hopping back onto the work table.
"I should've listen, that was the worst thing I've ever tasted." He gasped. He looked down at the new tail fin, sighing before picking it off of the table. "Come on, let's go give this to Toothless."
You nodded, slipping off of the table. "Now?" You asked with a head tilt.
Hiccup nodded, holding his breath before letting it go. "Yeah. He can't stay here-he needs to go wherever the others went." He reassured, walking off with the tail in hand.
•••
Toothless grumbled, a gummy smile as he pounced on Hiccup's roof, some of the tiles falling off.
"Toothless! Come on down, bud!" Hiccup beamed, calling down the Night Fury. He stumbled back when he appeared in front of the two of you, smiling at you before looking back at Toothless. "We got something for ya!"
Toothless sniffed the tail, unsure how to feel about it.
"What do you think of that?" He questioned in a playful tone, smiling as he perked up. "Yeah!"
You chucked softly as you watched Toothless and Hiccup walk around each other in circles. You placed your hand atop of the dragons head, stopping him from moving around too much as he rubbed his face into your palm. "Just calm down, bud!" You laughed, watching as Hiccup sat on his tail, putting the new contraption on.
"Toothless! Come on, bud! Let me get that on you!" The brunette laughed, adjusting it. "Yeah! You are going to love this. Okay." He patted his tail once it was on just right.
Toothless whipped his tail around, growling as he tried to get the machinery off. He jumped around, making Hiccup and you duck before getting whacked in the face.
"Nonono... To-Toothless! Stop!" Hiccup started, putting his hands up to calm the Night Fury.
"Toothless, it's okay, please!" You also stood up, trying to calm the dragon down.
Toothless whipped his tail down, perking up as he saw the invention copy his tail movements.
"Ah...Here you go. See? Got it?" Hiccup smiled, patting a hand on your shoulder.
"Uhhh, Hiccup?"
Toothless looks between Hiccup and you, his eyes slits.
"Toothless..." Hiccup sighed, reaching out for him before getting pulled down by you. "Whoa!"
You both watched as Toothless flew off, roaring as he vanished into the clouds.
You slowly turned to the brunette, sighing with a frown. "Hiccup..." You muttered, hugging him gently.
The boy sighed, slowly hugging you back as he rested his chin on your shoulder.
•••
Three days have passed, and no sign of any of the dragons.
No Hookfang.
No Stromfly.
No Meatlug.
No Barf and Beltch.
No D/N.
And no Toothless.
Hiccup stared at his ceiling, wide awake. One hand on his stomach while the other wrapped around you as you laid next to him. He sighed heavily, turning his head to look at you before his eyes went wide when a loud creek echoed throughout the house.
A loud thumped followed, making Hiccup remove his arm from under your head before slowly sit up. He gasped excitedly when another thump came, removing the blanket that was over the two of you. "Toothless!" He beamed, accidentally waking you up. He ran outside and turned the corner to the side of the house with a smile. "I knew you'd come back...Urgh!" He slipped on the same sheet of ice, this time, falling on his back with a groan.
His father stopped hammering the decorations onto the house, looking down at his son with a smile. "Morning, son!" Stoick beamed happily. He looked around for you before titling his head slightly. "Y/N still sleeping?"
"Oh, hey, Dad..." Hiccup got up, giving his dad a slight wave when he stood up. "I-uh-think so, yeah. W-we stayed up too late."
Stoick nodded with a smile. "Well, I'm glad you're up! I was looking for your helmet." The red head started to climb down the ladder, his attention off his son for a moment.
Hiccup froze, eyes wide as he remembered that it fell during flying. "My-My helmet?" He questioned.
Stoick stopped climbing down, grinning at his son before continuing the climb down. "Odin needs a place to put your goodies."
Hiccup nodded softly, looking away from his father. "Yeah, right...I-I'll get on that." He huffed, walking away. "Great..."
Stoick got back onto the ground, looking at his son with a sigh before walking after him. "Hold on!" He called out, making Hiccup stop in his tracks. "Hold on. Alright...Come on. What's on your mind? Out with it."
Hiccup sighed. "Oh, it's been three days, Dad. I just thought Toothless would be back by now."
"I'm sure he is with the other dragons." His father reassured.
"Yeah?" He asked. "I wish I can be that sure."
Stoick sighed heavily, his shoulder dropping slightly as he looked at his son. "Ah, listen...I know what it's like to miss someone you love this time of year. But what do we do, when they can't be here for the holiday?" Stoick gently placed a hand on Hiccup's shoulder, smiling softly. "We celebrate them! And I imagine that is exactly what Toothless would want you to do. And same with D/N; she'd want you and Y/N to celibate both of them. Right?”
Hiccup sighed, nodding. "You're right."
"Good!" Stoick beamed, hitting Hiccup on the shoulder. "Then go get that helmet! We've had enough disappointment around here." He laughed, walking off.

"So now I'm going to have to find a way to get that helmet back." Hiccup walked through Berk, two oars over his shoulder. He adjusted them as he spoke, glancing at you from the corner of his eyes before looking forward to make sure no one was in his way.
"Yikes." You hissed, carrying a basket full of rope and tools. You gripped the basket in your hands as you walked, holding it awkwardly before stopping when Hiccup swapped with you, taking the basket from your hands and helping you get the oars over your shoulders. "Oh! T-thank you."
He smiled softly with a hum. "Of course, m'lady." He gushed, the two of you continued your journey through town.
Hiccup got ready to turn the corner before bumping into Fishlegs who carried a basket filled to the brim with fish. "Oh, Fishlegs, you hungry?" Hiccup teased, smiling while popping the basket up to fix his grip.
"You have enough fish to feed a dragon!" You snickered, adjusting the oars.
Fishlegs was silent before awkwardly chuckling. "Hahaha...Oh, a dragon? That's..." He turned around and ran off, leaving Hiccup and you confused.
"Something's off." You quirked a brow, following the blond. "Come on!"
You both followed Fishlegs to the back entrance of one of the houses, watching as he quickly went inside while whimpering in fear.
While he was inside you both hid around the corner of the house, waiting for him to leave to see what was going on.
Fishlegs peeked out of the door, he quickly stepped out and shut the door, proud that no one was following him to see his secret.
As the blond passed, Hiccup stealthily snuck past, leaning the basket on the house. He smiled brightly at you, watching you leaned the oars next to the basket before standing in front of the door, hands intertwined.
You both opened one side of the doors, eyes wide when a dragon flew straight at you both. The two of you screamed when the chain holding the dragon captive snapped off, ramming into the two of you.
Hiccup and you held onto the dragon for dear life, Hiccup by its head and you by its front legs.
The boy pulled away, Hiccup making eye contact with the dragon. "MEATLUG?!" He screamed.
Meatlug flew passed Astrid who ducked with a yelp, watching you both zoom past.
"Y/N? Hiccup?" She blinked, not sure if she was seeing correctly. "Where are you going?!"
"WE HAVE NO IDEAAA!!" You called back, dangling from his legs as you glanced down, screaming in horror. "OH, MY ODIN! THIS IS SO MUCH WORSE WITHOUT FLYING GEAR!!"
"Meatlug? What about presents?!" Fishlegs called out to his dragon, his shoulder dropping slightly. "Hey!"
•••
Astrid whipped her head to the blond, furious about what just happened.
"I can't believe him." Fishlegs sighed.
"YOU can't believe HIM?!" Astrid snapped, smacking the boy on the arm. "YOU KIDNAPPED YOUR DRAGON!"
"Well, that makes it sound so mean." Fishlegs whined.
The twins walked over to the nest Meatlug made, pushing away the straw before gasping as their eyes went wide.
"Hey, guys?" Tuff called out, not looking away from the nest.
"He flew away the second he was unleashed!" Astrid continued to yell at Fishlegs, not even noticing the Tuffnut was talking to them.
"I'm 72% sure he wanted to stay-"
Ruff pulled back more straw, gasping as she put her hand over her mouth.
"GUYS!"
The other three finally got over to the twins, noticing what was in the nest.
"Whoa..." Fishlegs chuckled. "Meatlug barfed up a pile of rocks."
Astrid bent down, looking down at the 'rocks'.
"You're such an idiot!" Ruff sighed. "Those aren't rocks, your dragon laid eggs!"
"Hey, wait!" Astrid gaped, picking up one of the eggs from the nest. "I bet that's why the dragons left: To lay their eggs!"
"But, boy dragons don't lay eggs." Fishlegs interjected, not understanding the situation at hand.
"Yeah, your boy dragon is a girl dragon." Ruff clarified for the boy, placing her hands on her hips.
Fishlegs gasped when it clicked, nodding as the memories flooded back. "Okay, that actually explains a few things." He flexed his hands uncomfortably, looking down at his feet.
Astrid popped up, a grin plastered on her face as she held onto the egg. "Hey! Everyone's missing their Dragons, right?"
"Oh, here it comes." Snotlout groaned, slouching back.
She ran over to a small box of junk, grabbing a red ribbon before trying a bow around the egg. "I've got an idea! It'll be another new Snoggletog tradition!" She showed the group the egg, her cheeks red from smiling.
The group reluctantly agreed, tying bows around the eggs to pass around to some of the towns people.
"Oh, this is gonna be so good!" She smiled, two eggs on hand as they spit up to disperse the eggs around town.
•••
Hiccup held onto Meatlug as she flew around, glancing back to you to make sure you're okay before looking back. He screamed, making you yelp before dodging a rock formation which would have killed Hiccup and you. "Whoa! Meatlug, where are you taking us?" Hiccup asked, dodging a wreaked ship.
The flying went on for what felt like days, the three of you above the clouds.
You lazily wrapped your arms about the boy, sighing loudly as he patted your hand that rested on his legs.
Eventually, you come across land, the two of you getting excited as Meatlug began her decline towards it.
The island had a hot spring, thousands of dragons resting on the land around the water.
Once Meatlug landed, Hiccup slid off, helping you down as he held his arms out for you to take.
You both walked to the edge of the small cliff you stood on, looking out to the dragons that laid on the ground. All the dragons had babies.
All but one.
"You guys come here to have babies!" Hiccup gasped in amazement, his eyes sparkling at the sight in front of him.
"This is incredible." You whispered, looking around in awe.
Hiccup watched as a Gronckle pushed her eggs into a small spring. Sliding down, he made his eye over to her before stopping as two babies ran past, playing with one another.
You followed after the boy, smiling at the two babies before looking into the spring with Hiccup.
The three eggs she pushed in soon hatched, small explosions going off as the babies started to swim to the surface.
"Aww." Hiccup cooed, watching as one of the babies crawled out.
"They're so cute!" You gushed, gently shaking Hiccup as they made their way to their mom, tumbling from trying to fly.
Hiccup smiled with a chuckle, looking to his right when he noticed one of her eggs. He stood up, slowly walking over to it. "Hey, look over here, you missed one." He called out to the mom, not noticing that she got up and snagged you from the back of your shirt, carrying you a little ways off. "WHOA!"
You winced, watching as he got flung backwards, landing on his back before perking his head up to watch the baby hit the rock. "You okay?!" You called out, jogging over to him and helping him sit up.
"Y-yeah I'm fine." He reassured, watching as the baby stretched with a yawn before heading to its mom. "Man, it's a good thing those don't hatch on Berk!" Hiccup thought out loud, making you nod in agreement.
"But, you have to admit that the babies are pretty cute." You gushed, cooing softly as you watched the babies play with one another.
Hiccup nodded, dusting the soot off of himself.
•••
As they placed the remaining eggs around, Astrid smiled as she went up into D/N hutch, placing an egg in her nest before leaving with a giggle. "Wasn't this a great idea?" She smiled, hopping down the steps to the others.
"Uh-huh! Everyone's gonna be so surprised!" Fishlegs agreed with a nod and a grin.
Just then, one of the house exploded, a baby Gronckle flying out and hitting Fishlegs in the head which sent him to the floor. "Ow!"
"SURPRISE!" Snotlout smirked, leaning forward to look to the boy on the ground.
The Gronckle hits Fishlegs in the gut, yawning as the twins and Snotlout cooed at the dragon.
Astrid stared at the baby in horror, her eyes wide and mouth ajar. "The eggs...Explode?" She gasped.
Soon, all the houses started to explode, baby Gronckles flying out of the houses.
"THE EGGS EXPLODE!!!" She screamed, watching as people ran out of their houses. She ran over to some of the Vikings as they screamed in horror, bits of their clothing on fire. "I'm sorry! Sorry!"
The group watched in amazement, 'ooo'ing and 'aww'ing at the sight of everything.
The baby dragons got fired into the wooden tree, setting it ablaze.
"Awesome!" Tuff gasped.
"Wow!" Tuff added on with a smile.
Snotlout looked at Astrid, smiling as he leaned towards her. "This is your best idea yet!" He yelled over the explosions before turning his attention back onto the lights.
Astrid looked around in horror, sucking in a breath when she saw her house and D/N perch. "Oh, my Gods!" She cried, pulling at her hair as she booked it towards the flames. "Y/N'S GOING TO KILL ME!!"
Stoick watched as the tree slowly falls apart, noticing Astrid but stopping her as he took her hand. "What in Thor's name is going on?!" He cried, letting go of her hand.
She gulped nervously, covering her mouth with her hand. "The eggs explode." She gushed out in embarrassment. She winced as an explosion went off in the distance, nervously flashing a smile to the Chief.
•••
"Toothless! D/N! Guys?" Hiccup called out, walking around with you, hand in hand as you both looked around for your dragons.
"Where are they?" You sighed, looking down at your feet. "Are they even here?”
"I'm not sure, N/N." Hiccup squeezed your hand, looking at you.
You both fell silent before screaming, hitting the floor with groans when weight was pressed onto your backs.
You turned your head to the side, gasping before a grin tugged at your lips. "D/N!" You beamed, laughing as she got off the two of you and hopped around, her tongue hanging out with a gummy smile.
"What are you doing here, girl?!" Hiccup chuckled, petting her as she nuzzled into his cheek.
D/N bounced off, her wings outstretched as she roared at the two of you as you followed after her.
Stopping at the edge of the small cliff, you beamed at the other familiar dragons who rested on some rocks.
The babies cooed excitedly, making their parents perk up.
"Hookfang! Stormfly!" Hiccup grinned, making his way to the dragons, petting them gently. "Oh, you have no idea how happy we are to see you guys!"
You laughed, sitting on your knees as their babies ran over to you, rubbing their faces against your legs and hands. "You guys are parents!?" You giggled, picking up one of Stormfly's babies as she gently gnawed on your nose.
"Oh, look at you guys! All happy, together." Hiccup joined your side, petting the babies as they cooed at Hiccup. He turned to look at you before laughing, watching as the baby you were holding clawed on your face, trying to perch on top of your head. "Who knew you are leaving to celebrate your own sort of...holiday."
You set the baby back onto the ground, the three of them playing with each other. "We should be getting back to our holiday." You placed a hand on his shoulder.
He nodded, rising to his feet as he helped you up as well.
You turned to D/N who shoved her face into your back, making you chuckle softly. "Think you can take us back home?" You asked, climbing into her back.
You looked over and saw Hiccup sit on Hookfang, the two gliding up above the others as D/N followed.
"We'll see you all back on Berk when you're good and ready, okay, gang?" He questioned to the dragons, gulping when the adults started to join Hookfang and D/N in the air. "Oh...Nono nonono...I think we just started the return migration." Hiccup sheepishly turned to you, shrugging his shoulders as he flashed an uncertain smile.
You laughed, watching as the crowd of babies dashed to the edge of the island, calling out to their parents. "If you guys insist!" You smiled.
The babies tried to fly, but the wind was too strong as it sent them back to the island.
"Ah, boy, this is never gonna work." The brunette sighed.
"I got an idea!" You gasped, patting D/N neck which made her fly the direction you wanted her to go. "Come on, Hookfang!"
•••
"Ah, Gobber, this is a disaster." Stoick complained, walking past the Vikings as they started to rebuild the houses.
"Ah, it's not so bad." Gobber tried to reassure the Chief.
"Oh, not that bad?" He snapped. "The village is destroyed. The dragons have gone and left us.”
The crowd of Vikings came to a halt, whispering to one another as they looked up at the sky.
"Let's face it–this holiday is a complete-What are these people looking at?" He cried, pushing through the mob before noticing what everyone was looking at. "What is that?"
The town watched as a mob of dragons flew in their direction, carrying one of their broken boats underneath them.
"It's Hiccup and Y/N!" Stoick beamed.
The crowd erupted into cheers, some of them hugging and some of them clapping.
"And our dragons!" Astrid added on.
The dragons lowered the ship onto the land, it creaking to a halt as everyone watched in confusion.
Soon the babies poured out, making everyone mummer at the sight.
The adult dragons started to land, Hookfang and D/N landing near the front of the ship.
Both Hiccup and you slipped off of the dragons, moving out of the way as people made their way to their dragons.
Snotlout smiled brightly, running up to Hookfang and hugging him. "Yeah! Whoo-hoo!"
Meatlug flew around, looking for her babies before perking up once she saw them. She made her way down to them as she regurgitated some fish for them to eat.
Fishlegs flew around the corner, passing by some Vikings as he bolted to his dragon. "MEATLUG!" He shouted, running into her and hugging her as they both rolled away from the impact.
"Stormfly! You're back! Oh!" Astrid laughed, hugging her before looking down at her feet. "And there are babies!" She bent down and grinned, petting them before looking back at Stormfly.
Hiccup and you watched with small smiles, looking at one another as you both held each others hand.
"Hahaha! Well done, you two!" Stoick belted out a laugh as he bear hugged the two of you, lifting you both off the ground.
"Thanks, Dad!" Hiccup gasped out.
"Thank you, Chief!" You wheezed out, trying to catch your breath.
Stoick dropped the two of you before throwing his hands out as he watched the crowd. "Everyone! Grab your dragons! To the Great Hall!" He grinned, walking off and leaving Hiccup and you. "We finally have something to celebrate!"
•••
In the Great Hall, all the Vikings cheered, laughing and talking amongst themselves. Dragons flew above and landed by their owners.
"Where's Hiccup?" Hilda yelled to you over the noise. "I thought he was joining us!”
You looked around for a moment, spotting him in the crowd. You turned back to Hilda, jerking your head in his direction. "He's missing Toothless!" You replied, making her nod. "I'll go talk to him!" You gave Astrid the baby Nadder that was in your lap, getting up with a whistle which made D/N follow after you.
"This is the best holiday ever!" Fishlegs laughed, holding two of the babies. "Howsa baby!"
Snotlout smiled as he pets one of the baby Nightmares, laughing as it spit a little fire at him.
You walk over to Hiccup, slowing down your pace when he glanced at the floor. You gently placed a hand on D/N head as she cooed to Hiccup, making him look over at the two of you. "Hiccup, I know it's hard to see everyone with their dragons tonight." You started, bending down as he looked back at the floor. You smiled softly at him as you took both of his hands into yours. "You really did an incredible thing. Thank you, Hiccup." You cupped his face with both of your hands, quickly kissing him before engulfing him into a hug.
Hiccup sighed as he wrapped his arms around you, his body leaning on your slightly. "Y/N, where did Toothless go?" He asked, almost in a whisper.
You sighed, tightening your grip around him "I don't know." You looked at the doors behind Hiccup.
The doors slowly creaked open, revealing the Night Fury who looked around before perking up when he saw you.
You smiled brightly, biting your lip before pulling away. Your heart fluttered softly when you saw the lovesick smile on his face. You cleared your throat, gently pushing him back as you spoke. "Wow, it must suck being you. I don't think I would want to be you in this situation." You chuckled awkwardly, poking him in the chest as his face dropped. "You helped me find D/N and bring everyone's dragons back home!"
Hiccup scoffed, glaring at you slightly. "Yeah, you know, this is not helping, at all."
You smiled brightly as you pushed Hiccup, making him stumble backwards to keep his balance.
Toothless grunted, running towards Hiccup with a small smile.
"TOOTHLESS!" Hiccup gasped, running over to the dragon who started jumping up and down slightly. "Hey, bud!" The two watch one other before Hiccup embraces the dragon.
You smiled brightly, looking to the sides when you felt a hand on your shoulder. You leaned into Hilda's side as she rubbed her hand up and down your arm.
"Stoick!" Gobber interrupted, placing a hand on Stoick's back which made the chief look at his son.
Hiccup pulled away from Toothless, waving a finger in his face. "Bad dragon! Very bad dragon! You scared me to death!" Hiccup scolded the Fury, mumbling 'including Y/N' under his breath before shaking his head and looking back to Toothless. "Don't ever stay away that long again, and what is in your mouth?" He leaned forward, squinting when he noticed something in Toothless' mouth.
Toothless stood on his hind legs and dropped a spit cover helmet onto his head.
Snotlout and Astrid joined your side, the three of you groaning in disgust. You looked at Snotlout before petting the small Monstrous Nightmare that was in his arms, the two of you laughing when it nibbled on your finger.
The twins and Fishlegs also groaned in disgust, laughing slightly at the end.
Hiccup wiped some of the spit off his helmet and face, getting it out of his eyes. "Yeah, you found my helmet." He gasped, looking at Toothless with a grin. "What-hey! You found my helmet! That's where you've been?"
Toothless rumbled, nudging his face into Hiccups hand.
"Buddy, thank you! You are amazing!" Hiccup threw his arms around the dragon again. He backed away when D/N nudged him to the side, the two dragons purring as they rubbed against one another.
"Happy Snoggletog!" Astrid beamed.
You laughed, walking over to Hiccup, brushing his now wet hair out of his face. "Happy Snoggletog." You giggled, groaning playfully when he pulled you into a hug. "Hiccup!"
Hiccup laughed, smiling brightly. "Happy Snoggletog, Y/N."
•••
You sighed, looking up from your sketch book to see Toothless jumping on Hiccups roof, getting impatient by the minute. You rolled your eyes with a smile, turning back to your drawing.
Toothless roared, sliding down and sitting next to D/N.
"I'm coming, Toothless!" Hiccup reassured, walking over to where Toothless usually greeted. "Alright, bud, come on down. I was just-" He paused with slightly wide eyes, watching as you shoved your sketch book back into your satchel, getting off the Night Nadder and letting D/N sit next to Toothless.
Toothless and D/N both cooed at Hiccup and you once you joined his side.
Hiccup looked in front of the dragons, noticing their flying gear in the snow. "Guys, what'd you pull this out for?" He asked, walking over to the dragons. "You don't need this anymore. Come on, let's get going." Hiccup gently pushed Toothless' saddle to the side, reaching out to Toothless before he jumped over to your side, nuzzling into you.
You smiled, resting your arm on his head as he gurgled slightly. You rubbed your fingers behind D/N's ears when she stood on your other side. "He-They want this, Hiccup." You pointed to the flying gear that was on the ground before tugging at your gear that was draped over your body.
"What do you mean? You have your new tail now; D/N and you and fly with one other." He clarified, watching as Toothless circled around. "Toothless?"
Toothless rumbled, looking back at the prothetic tail as he opened and closed it. Looking back at the brunette, he smashed his tail into the ground, breaking the tail off.
"Toothless! Stop! What are you doing?" Hiccup cried, reaching out before looking at the dragon in disbelief.
You grinned, walking over to Toothless and picking up the red and white tail fin. You chuckled as Toothless pulled the saddle in front of him, D/N doing the same as they both chirped and cooed at Hiccup. "They miss this, Hiccup." You shrugged playfully, handing him the tail.
Hiccup looked down at the fin before looking at the two dragons; Toothless nudging his saddle with his claws and D/N holding the saddle in her mouth. Hiccup slowly turned to you, his mouth ajar.
You smiled softly, nodding your head, holding your hands out before running behind his house. You picked up his flying gear, carrying it over to him before dropping it on top of the fin. "Come on, teach me to dive."
•••
Winter in Berk lasts most of the year. It hangs on with both hands and won't let go.
Hiccup smiled, looking over to his right. "You exited, Dragon Mistress?" He called out, smirking slightly.
You laughed, nodding excitedly. "I sure am, Dragon Master!" You clapped your hand slightly, looking down at the ocean below.
The only comfort and warmth during the cold are those you kept close to you.
Hiccup looked back to Toothless, smiling softly as he unclipped his safeties. "Okay, bud, you ready?" He grinned as Toothless roared in reply. He unlooked his prothetic before glancing at you.
You gulped harshly, unclipping your safeties and standing on D/N back, wobbling before regaining your balance.
You both made eye contact with one another, Hiccup summersaulting off of Toothless while you swan dived off of D/N head.
"Yee-haw!" Hiccup cheered, making you laugh.
The two dragons dove after you both, roaring excitedly as they caught up with you both.
Hiccup and you dove side by side, grinning at one another as Toothless tapped Hiccup, making him spin.
Turns out, that was the best Snoggletog ever.
Hiccup stopped spinning, smiling sweetly as D/N and you spun around one another.
That year, we gave our best friends a pretty great gift.
Hiccup and Toothless reattached, Toothless wings opening up.
You grabbed onto D/N saddle, sitting down as you also reattached yourself.
"Whoo-hoo!" Hiccup beamed, turning to you with a grin.
"That..was..AMAZING!!" You cheered, throwing your arms up.
The two dragons flew past the snow covered trees, making them shake from the unexpected wind.
But they gave us a better one!

Adrien: *at sight of Chloe with leg prothetics* What happened?!
Chloe: Well, planet crashed and my legs were pinned under some scrap, and there wasn't a way to free me without cutting them off.
Adrien: I know that you loved ballet. How do you manage loss of your legs?
Chloe: It's great. Everytime I'm thinking about my "old, fleshy legs", I remind myself that one of daddy's creepy friends once said that "I have my mother's legs"
Adrien: 😯
Chloe: I know that's f*cked up thing to say, but I never was "Paragon of Mental Well-Being"

"i was wondering if you wanted any company?" arizona questioned, glancing down at the other with a smile spread across her face. she had decided if she was stuck in dc, then she might need to start making friends that weren't just people she knew from back home, and where better to start than the beach. "unless you want me to just leave, that's cool too."
@mastcrmiind || Della for anyone
Tumblr media
.。.:*☆ The problem with a protestic leg in summer was, people had a habit to stare. And no, usually, it was not bothering Della very much. But today at the beach, with this kid pointing at her and the mother of this kid already getting a red head while listening….
“Aw phooey…” She exclaimed, rolling her eyes and turning only to realize someone else was standing near her deck chair all of the sudden. Della frowned, despite her usually bright spirit.
“And what can I do for you today….?”

~ Late Fall of the Year 2039 ~
You hum as you begin cutting into the deer, carefully maneuvering your knife so you don’t puncture any organs. The soft thunk from the blood dropping into the bucket steadily gets louder the bigger you make the incision. A woof has you pausing and smiling at your dog who decides to sit at your heels. You reach down to pat Scout’s head before turning your attention back to the deer. You’d be able to quarter it and bag it once all the organs are out.
“We’ll be eating really well this fall, Scout. We got lucky with this one. It should last us until the spring.” You talk to him, “That means the next one should hold us over for spring, and you might get a new blanket.” An excited woof is your response, making you giggle. Soon, with practiced ease, the organs are removed and all the excess blood is in the bucket.
“Okay, Scout.” You pick up the bucket and he takes it from your hand, “Take this to the drop-off, and be careful.” Scout turns and heads off into the woods to your usual disposal site. The smell of the blood and guts attracted the infected so your family made a trap point to focus on them. You’d head out there once the meat was safely stored to torch any that wandered in.
By the time Scout returns with the clean bucket, you’ve removed the legs and head from the deer. The two of you finish up your routine with you removing the meat while Scout ran the inedible pieces to the drop. Now was time to make the trip back to the house, so you loaded up and headed back to your meadow. ‘I’ll have to check on the chickens and make sure there are no entries into their coup. I’ve got to keep them warm and the predators out.’ You remind yourself. ‘Then, it’s checking over the house and making sure nothing will get too cold.’ Suddenly, Scout starts barking, jolting you out of your thoughts as he takes off running toward the house.
“Scout!” You shout and run after him, pulling your shotgun from your bag. ‘Ah, hell! I hope it’s just a false alarm!’ The last time he reacted like this, some infected had managed to get inside from a busted area in the fence. A tree had collapsed during a storm, attracting the few in the forest, and you had to spend a few days fixing it. You grit your teeth, lifting your gun as you round the corner of the house. It’s been a while since you’ve had to use it on a human, but that didn’t mean you would hesitate with it.
The sound of Scout’s barks mixes with what sounds like… laughter? Your eyes widen when you see a woman standing on your porch, trying to calm down Scout as he jumps up and licks her face. You watch in shock, slowly lowering your gun as you listen to the laughter while trying to process the sight. The woman looks up at you, her face showing relief as a tired smile makes its way across her lips. It takes a moment, but you realize that you met this woman a few years ago when the two of you were much smaller.
“So um… I’m Ellie. Like Joel said.” Ellie reintroduces herself to you. You glance at your parents who are walking inside with Joel before you turn back to her with a grin.
“Hi, Ellie! I’m Y/n!” You greet her, lifting your clippers to show her, “Do you want to come up to my room with me? I have some books we can go through!”
“What kind of books?” Ellie raises an eyebrow.
“Ah, space-”
“Space?!” Ellie shouts and then her face goes red, “I-I mean- Space? That’s cool. I like space.” You gasp, grab her hand, and start dragging her to your room.
“Oh my god, that’s fucking amazing!” You squeal, “I actually have a telescope we can look through if you end up staying the night! Have you ever looked through one before? It’s so cool. My dad had found one for me last year…” You ramble to Ellie the whole way.
“Ellie?” You blurt out in shock, hurrying to put the safety back on your gun. You grin at her, suddenly feeling happy about the unexpected company. It’s been just you and Scout for way too long.
“Hey, Y/n.” Ellie says before her eyes roll back and she faints, falling onto your deck with a loud thud.
“ELLIE?!” You shriek, flinging your gun to the ground as you sprint to her. Scout freaks out as you hurriedly drop down and feel for her pulse. The firm beat only calms you down slightly before you open the front door and pick her up. You rush to the guest room, kicking the door open to place her on the bed. Mindlessly, you’re yanking at her clothes and taking off all the layers so you can inspect her for any bites. You pause as you’re removing her jacket, seeing her left hand bandaged and clearly missing parts of her fingers. You take a moment to unwind the bandages and a soft gasp leaves your lips. ‘It’s infected. I’ll check that after I confirm she’s not bitten.’ You shake your head and get back to work. You find no bite marks, only a tattoo on her arm along with dozens of scars all over her. You knew she’d be annoyed that you stripped her, but you didn’t have a choice. Finally, you press your hand to her forehead and hiss in aggravation. ‘She’s running a fever.’ You sigh, carefully picking up her injured hand. ‘It’s likely because of this infection.’ You examine the wound, noting that it must’ve reopened at some point as there are signs of old stitches.
Scout noisily comes into the room, making you glance at him and see him dragging a backpack that you assume to be Ellie’s. You put Ellie’s hand down and take it from him, patting him on the head before placing it on the desk. Your eyes linger on the numerous weapons sticking out of it, wondering when she learned to use a bow and arrow. ‘She had quite a few the last time she and Joel came by, but this is my first time seeing them up close.’ You sigh and look back to the woman passed out in your bed. ‘What happened to you?’ You frown.
“Alright, Scout. Why don’t we get back to work, huh boy? I have a feeling Ellie will be asleep for a while. Once I get the meat stored, I’ll work on helping her through this infection.” You look down at him. Scout whines, pawing at his face before pointing to Ellie. You give him a soft smile, reaching down to ruffle his fur. He liked Ellie when she came by last time, so it was nice to see him caring for her.
“You watch her for me, then. I’ll get this sorted out.” You motion to the meat, making him woof happily before he jumps onto the edge of the bed and lays down next to her.
It was two weeks before Ellie woke up. The first few days were the worst, keeping her from falling into a coma and injecting her with antibiotics. You wiped her body down with cold water from the river in an effort to break her fever. Once her fever broke, you were able to relax a little but she was still fighting off death. Her rest was fitful, causing Scout to come to fetch you more than a few times out of worry. You left him in charge of her since you couldn’t be at her side. She’d open her eyes and deliriously mumble things to you before falling asleep again. You alternated between tea, water, and soup, briefly waking her up to get her to drink them. Ellie was barely conscious, even when you fed her and it worried you. While you went around and prepared for the winter months, she stayed at the front of your mind the whole time.
You were in the middle of chopping firewood when Scout came sprinting out to you, barking like a madman, before sprinting back into the house. You followed after him, racking up your axe along the way and stumbling up the steps as you hurried to remove your boots. Your pulse is racing and you’re fearing the worst. She had been getting better, but that didn’t mean it couldn’t come back overnight. Ellie’s voice is horribly broken and raspy as you hear her talk to Scout, and you lean in the doorway as he rolls all over her.
“You’re awake.” You exhale in relief, seeing the energy in her movements as she looks up at you, “I was so worried when you collapsed.” You walk into the room, grab the glass of water on the dresser and take a seat at the edge of the bed. You help her take the first few swallows, gently wiping away a drop of water from her chin.
“...I’m sorry.” Ellie sighs, accepting the glass from you, “I didn’t know if I’d make it here if I’m honest.” She lifts the glass to her mouth and you watch for any shakiness. Her hand trembles slightly, so you keep your hand up to support her.
“You had a horrible infection in your fingers that traveled into your body. You went septic, Ellie.” You frown and cross your arms, “You’re lucky I know how to treat that. What happened?” That question makes her pause and she slowly lowers the glass with a heavy sigh. You turn to her, bringing your legs up to tuck them under you. She’s quiet for a moment, staring at the water as she chews at her lip.
“You don’t have to tell me. I’m sorry for asking.” You place a hand on her leg, “It seems like it’s something heavy.”
“No. I- Fuck.” Ellie groans, running a hand through her hair, “Joel’s dead. Murdered.” She says suddenly, recoiling at her news. ‘Murdered?!’ You straighten up in alarm.
“I chased after his murderer, leaving the little family I had behind, and long story short… I couldn’t do it.” Ellie fiddles with her bandages, “Kill her, that is. I was so close to it, but in the end, I couldn’t do it. She uh… bit my fingers off in the fight.” She lifts her hand, flashing you an awkward smile at you before dropping her hand into her lap.
“Ellie. I-” You flounder for the right words, in complete disbelief, “-I’m so sorry.” You wrap your arms around her, pulling her into a tight hug that she stiffens up in. When you go to pull away, she relaxes into your arms and hugs you back. She tightens her grip on you and starts sobbing as she buries her face into your neck. You feel your heart break as her tears run down your neck, and you shift around so she’s sitting on your lap while she cries. You practically cradle Ellie in your lap, letting her cry as you try to comfort her. She tearfully rambles about everything that happened as she tried to get to your home, unloading on you in her distraught state and leaving you speechless. You were the only person Ellie could go to… Scout had jumped up and laid his head on her leg, letting her shakily play with his fur. By the end of it, she fell asleep. You take a deep breath, laying her down as you try to process what was said, and Scout wedges between you two with a whine.
“I know, bud.” You stroke his fur, wiping tears from your own eyes, “I didn’t expect that either, but it makes sense why she showed up in such a horrible condition.” You sigh and glance at the sleeping woman next to you. ‘She looks so peaceful after going through all of that.’ You delicately wipe the tear tracks from her face and go to get out of bed. Scout whines, gently grabbing your wrist in his mouth and making you pause.
“Scout…” You sigh and he whines again, tugging you back toward the bed. You glance at the door, thinking about all of the things you need to do, but Scout insists. ‘Winter won’t be here for a month. I can rest for a day. Besides, I’m ahead of schedule.’
“Okay, okay.” You laugh softly, getting back into the bed and laying down, “...Happy?” You raise an eyebrow at him. He woofs and licks your face, making you giggle and push his snout away. You lay there and pet him, accidentally falling asleep in the process.
You feel warm when you wake up. Warm, comfortable, and… stuck? You open your eyes, confusedly looking to your left, and come face to face with Ellie. You blink sleepily, your mind taking more than a few seconds to catch up to the situation. You let out a squeak, feeling your face heat up as her breath fans across your cheek. ‘I-I’m in Ellie’s arms.’ You shift ever so slightly and you’re well aware of the complicated position you’re in. Her arms are tight around your waist, one of yours is tucked under her head while the other is across her waist. Your legs were intertwined and the two of you were practically chest to chest. ‘How did we get into this position?’ You swallow, feeling your heart pounding in your chest. ‘There’s no way I can get out of this without waking her.’
Your heart drops when you notice that Ellie’s eyelids are fluttering. ‘No. No. No! Don’t wake up now!’ You panic and do the only thing that comes to mind… you shut your eyes. You feel her grip on your waist tighten, a sharp intake of breath following shortly after.
“Shit.” Ellie whispers, “How the fuck…?” There’s a pause before she’s shifting, trying to untangle herself from you. Except, that’s not possible without waking you up. She stops after a few seconds and lets out a deep sigh.
“…Y/n.” Ellie says quietly, “…Y/n, wake up.” She shakes you slightly with her free hand. You slowly open your eyes as she continues to shake you. The blush on your face is back the moment you meet her green eyes.
“Morning.” Ellie says sheepishly, her cheeks turning pink, “We’re um… a little tangled.”
“R-Right.” You stutter and the two of you work together to get yourselves separated. It takes a minute, your legs being the issue but you manage to get free.
“Sorry, Scout begged me to lay down after you fell asleep. I didn’t plan on falling asleep next to you.” You fidget with your flannel sleeve, glancing at the dog looking at you from his doggy bed. ‘You sneaky mutt. When did you bring your dog bed in here?!’
“It’s okay.” Ellie sighs, “Um, can I get something to eat? I’m starving.”
“Oh! Yes, of course! You can jump into the shower and I’ll leave a change of clothes on your bed for you. The towels are in the closet.” You perk up, immediately heading to the door, “You’re okay with eggs and bread for breakfast?”
“Eggs and bread?” Ellie blinks.
“We have a patch of…” You pause at the surprised look on her face, “Eggs and bread it is.” You flash her a smile and leave the room. The first thing you do is grab her a change of clothes and place the neatly folded pile on the bed. You can hear the water running and you frown, wondering just how long it took for her to get to you on foot. ‘She came all the way from California.’ You head out to the chicken coup and gather up the eggs, happy that you have enough for a big meal. You practically skip into the kitchen and get to work chopping up some vegetables.
“Is there anything I can do to help?” Ellie says from behind you, making you pause. You turn to her and smile, seeing that she looks a lot better now that she was able to get cleaned up. ‘Wait.’ Your eyes flick down to your waist, seeing the black and white shirt on Ellie. ‘When did she get my flannel?’
“Can you get the bacon out and chop it up?” You point to the freezer, “It’s in a labeled ziplock bag.”
“You have bacon?” Ellie gasps, darting to the freezer and you turn back to your vegetables. ‘Did I accidentally leave it on the bed?’
“My mom was in the process of making improvements the first time you came by. Now I have pigs, chickens, a dairy cow, and a few goats. Bacon is for rare occasions, but I think you being here calls for it.” You place the vegetables into the hot frying pan and Ellie takes your place at the cutting board.
“I’m not that special.” Ellie chuckles, taking out some of the bacon and cutting it up, “I met you once when we were kids.” You can’t help but watch how skillfully she uses the knife, moving quickly and precisely. The pop of the oil in the pan snaps you out of your staring.
“You’re a friend I haven’t seen in years.” You roll your eyes, glancing at her, “Yes. Yes, you are that special.” You and Ellie briefly make eye contact and you smile as you look away. ‘Either way, she looks good with it on.’
“Why?” Ellie gives you a curious look.
“You were the first kid my age my parents let me play with. When any other Firefly kid came through I had to stay away from them. They never told me why… just said it was for my safety.” Ellie was more than the first kid you played with. She was your first crush and first kiss.
“So the few days Joel and I stayed…”
“Were the best days of my life.” You smile at her, making her eyes widen. You stare at each other for a bit before you clear your throat and go back to your tasks.
“Do you want me to toss them in like this?” Ellie lifts the cutting board. You glance at the chopped-up pieces and nod your head. She dumps them into the pan and it’s not long before the bacon is sizzling. You head for the eggs, cracking them onto a bowl before whisking them up. Without you having to ask, Ellie takes your place at the pan and keeps an eye on them. You idly wonder where she learned to cook eggs. Soon you’re plating the omelets and grabbing your bread box.
“So, you make bread?” Ellie leans against the counter next to you.
“I do.” You grin, pulling the fresh loaf from the box, “My grandma had her recipe books. Each one was for something different. Soups, breads, sweets. I spent a lot of time reading them and learning how to make the things in them.” You hear Ellie gasp as you take it out of the bag and place it down on the clean cutting board. It was baked yesterday morning before you headed out to gather wood.
“Holy shit!” Ellie exclaims, making you laugh. You grab your knife, cut a few decent-sized slices, and put them onto the plate. You hand Ellie her plate and the two of you walk to the table, Scout happily following you. You put your plate down across from her, quickly grabbing the hibiscus tea out of the fridge.
“Do you want some tea? I-”
“-I’d love some. Thank you.” Ellie interrupts you, making you smile. You pour out some for her, sit down once your glasses are full, and take a sip. Ellie does the same, her eyes widening as she licks a drop from her lips.
“That’s good.” Ellie looks at you, “Really good.”
“I’m glad you like it.” You giggle, “You can have some more if you finish that glass. My mom looted all of the closed stores when the pandemic first started. The town was empty so she took advantage.”
“I might take you up on that.” Ellie says before taking a bite out of her eggs. You blush when you hear her let out a low moan. Your eyes dart up, seeing her looking at you with an awed gaze.
“You… like it?” You let out a small, flustered giggle.
“This is the best thing I’ve eaten in months.” Ellie sighs blissfully.
“How long did it take for you to get here?” You ask in between bites, “You left that out yesterday.”
“Five months.” Ellie says, breaking her bread in two, “Tracking time gets tedious when you’re traveling, so it could be shorter or longer.” You give her a sad smile, watching for a few seconds as she digs into the meal. She came looking for you after that fight… and nearly died in the process. It saddened you to know that you were likely the only person she could rely on.
“When we’re done, I’ll check your stitches. I’ll need to keep a close eye on them to make sure they don’t get infected again and heal properly.” You state.
“Thank you, by the way.” Ellie sighs, moving a piece of her omelet around with her fork, “Thank you for caring for me these past few weeks. I… You were the first person I thought of and I desperately needed a safe place to go.”
“Ellie.” You reach across the table and touch her hand, making her look at you, “I told you six years ago… you’re welcome here. Once your hand is healed, if you choose to leave, you can. Until then, don’t worry about being here. I’ll take care of you. Just focus on getting better.” Ellie stares at you, seeming to be far away… a look you’ve grown accustomed to seeing.
“Thank- you.” Her voice cracks as tears spring into her eyes, “Thank you so much.” She whispers, ducking her head down to hide her tears. You let out a quiet sigh, feeling your heart clench in your chest. It seems like you two have more in common.
The longer you were around Ellie, it got easier to tell that she was struggling. You’d wake up in the middle of the night to her screaming, thrashing around in her bed in a panic. Sometimes she’d call out Joel’s name or names of people you didn’t know. You’d turn the light on, wait for her to wake up, and hold her in your arms as you helped her calm down. Occasionally you’d find her in the shower, skin red and steam filling the bathroom as she stared into space. You’d help her out, guide her into getting dressed and tuck her into bed.
Ellie zoning out was the most common. She would zone out, staring into space in the middle of a conversation or activity. You’d patiently wait for her to come back, gently repeating what you were saying and trying to continue the conversation. It didn’t bother you. You understood what she was going through, even though you didn’t know the full story. You struggled with witnessing your parents’ death, having to kill their murderers yourself, and getting used to living alone. The first few years were the worst, with one particularly bad flashback resulting in a burn on your arm. So, you didn’t push Ellie to do anything she couldn’t handle but that didn’t help her feelings about it.
You open your eyes and groan, a glance at the window showing you that it was early morning. Your body is begging for water, so you begrudgingly get up from your warm blankets. A shiver goes through you, reminding you that the first snowfall is a few days away. ‘I need to finish up the last preparations.’ You hug your jacket closer to your body as you exit your room.
“Fuck! Just- fuck!” You hear Ellie curse, making you stop outside of your door, “UGH! Just hold the damn thing!” You can hear the aggravation in her voice and before you realize it you’re knocking on her door.
“Els?” You ask softly, “Can I come in?” It’s silent and you listen closely for her reply.
“Yeah.” Ellie responds, with a heavy sigh sounding, “I think I need you.” You open the door and the smell of blood catches your attention. A gasp leaves your lips and you rush to her side, blood dripping down her arm from a large gash.
“How did this happen?!” You hurriedly grab another towel, pressing down hard on the wound.
“I was… practicing on using my hand again. My knife slipped and… I got myself.” Ellie frowns, looking away in shame. You inspect the wound and bite your lip, relieved she didn’t hit anything vital.
“You’re going to need stitches again.” You pull the First-Aid box closer, reaching in for the things you need.
“Great.” Ellie huffs.
“Hey.” You brush your hand over her cheek, “Relax. There’s no rush to do things. It’ll take some time to figure things out with your-”
“-I can’t relax!” Ellie shouts, startling you, “I can barely help you other than picking some things up! I can’t even grasp things the way I used to! How am I supposed to be of any help when I can’t even keep a knife stable?! I’m more of a burden to you than help!” She breaks down sobbing and you feel your heart shatter. You knew she wasn’t feeling great, but she never clued you in that she was feeling like a burden.
“Ellie.” You frown, “Please don’t say that about yourself. You’re not a burden. I can’t fully understand what you’re going through, but I can sympathize. You came to me for help and that’s what I’m doing. I don’t expect you to be able to do anything, much less assist me while you heal.” You motion to her fingers. The stitches had been removed a month ago, and the skin reformed nicely since then but it was still tender. It would be another month before she was fully healed.
“I know you’re feeling restless, but I need you to work with me.” You sterilize her wound, getting a hiss of pain from her, “Once you’re healed, we can work on it. If your fingers reopen, we’re back to square one and another few months of waiting. So please be patient.” You plead, focusing on stitching up her arm.
“I’m sorry. I’m not used to other people helping me. Even when Joel… I’ve been taking care of myself. Not being able to help. Not being able to even grasp my flashlight properly is…”
“Upsetting.” You nod, “I get that. I know what you’re feeling. I’ve… felt it before. I haven’t talked about my parents’ absence but the same thing happened with them.” You glance up at her, seeing her look at you in shock. You swallow and focus back on what you’re doing, wiping some blood away.
“We went into the town a few months after you left. My dad had hidden anything we didn’t have space for to keep it safe from raiders until he finished building the storage unit. So, we were going to collect the last of the stuff and bring it home. Some old friends of my dad’s had come to find him and things went to hell.” You could practically hear the gunfire in your ears, your mother telling you to hide, “Apparently, they had a vendetta against him for choosing my mom over them. They didn’t like my mom. Racists.” You scoff, feeling the anger once more.
“How… did they die?” Ellie asks hesitantly.
“One of them got the jump on my mom and I couldn’t get there in time. I watched as they shot my mom. Twenty bullets. One for every year my dad left them. They did the same to my dad.”
“Holy shit!” Ellie gasps, gripping your shoulder tightly in disbelief, “Those sick fucks!”
“I saw red. I couldn’t sleep at night knowing that they got away with it. With all of my training, I still couldn’t do shit to save them. I took my mom’s axe and used the Firefly network to hunt them down... I killed them all. I thought it would make me feel better but it…” You take a shuddering breath, “It made me feel empty. It’s been six years, but I still have nightmares. The screams, the pleading, the blood, the fire. I still remember it all.” You finish the last stitch, double-checking to make sure it’s secure. Her arm would be easier to manage than her fingers.
“Y/n. I-” Ellie was at a loss for words, “I’m sorry. I didn’t ask because you didn’t seem like you wanted to talk about it. That must’ve been a horrible situation.”
“It was.” You sigh, standing up, “I thought that if I was faster or if I didn’t listen to my mom and hide… they could still be here. I’ve dealt with the guilt of being alive instead of them for a long time. So, I’m begging you, Els… Lean on me.” You put a hand on her shoulder, looking her dead in the eyes. Those other Firefly kids you trained with weren’t anything to you. Ellie was your first and only friend even though she was with you for three days. You were serious. Just as serious as you were six years ago when you told her she would always have a place with you. You cared for her a lot. After all, she made you feel like a normal kid for the few days they stayed with you.
“…I will.” Ellie says sincerely, resting her hand on yours, “I’ll lean on you.”
Winter flew by and you and Ellie made a lot of progress. To your surprise, she quickly got comfortable with you looking after her. The two of you ended up sleeping in the same bed so you could keep an eye on her wound. With a couple of major injuries healing, she had a higher risk of them getting infected and you wanted to avoid that. Scout had wanted to join in on the fun and dragged his dog bed into the room as well.
By mid-winter, Ellie’s fingers had completely healed and so did the gash in her arm. You worked with her every day on figuring out how to effectively hold items with her newly healed hand. It was challenging at first, especially with her trauma but you slowly got through it. It took a lot of gentle coaxing, tears on Ellie’s side of things, and persistence from both of you. She was able to firmly hold a knife within a few weeks and carry certain small objects without issue. But, you noticed that the cold seemed to bother her hand. She would mention that she was in a lot of pain if she left them exposed so you took it upon yourself to help with that.
“Ellie?!” You call out, nervously holding the wrapped gift close to your chest. You had been working on it secretly with some leather and hide you have. You are quite anxious about giving it to her, because you aren’t sure if she’ll like it. You glance down at Scout who's on your heels, knowing that you’re nervous.
“On the porch!” Ellie responds and you head toward the back of the house. You find her curled up on the couch, tucked under a blanket with your old astronomy book opened on her lap. Scout hops up and snuggles with her, making Ellie let out a cute giggle. A smile crosses your face, eyes darting to the soft snowfall before looking back over to her.
“What’s up?” Ellie asks, tilting her head curiously.
“I have something for you.” You hold out the gift. Ellie jolts up, surprised that you have something for her. She reaches out and takes it from you, placing it on top of your book.
“You didn’t have to get me anything.” Ellie laughs, unwrapping the item.
“I didn’t. I made it for you.” You shrug, a grin making its way onto your face.
“Y/n!” Ellie gasps, lifting the gloves out of the wrapping, “You made me gloves?!”
“I made you two sets.” You sit down next to her, picking up the soft one, “One for winter and one for working. This one is made with goat leather, and there are extensions inside of the fingers. It should fit snugly and bend as if you still have the rest of your fingers. This one is deer hide. It’s soft and will keep your hands warm. It should fit perfectly to your hand as it is now. You can wear these underneath the other ones if you need to.” You watch Ellie slip the gloves on, smiling to yourself as the deer hide one’s fits perfectly.
“These are really soft!” Ellie grins rubbing her hands together, “I can’t even feel any cold! Thank you!”
“Don’t thank me yet.” You chuckle, holding up the other gloves, “You have these to try on.” These are the ones you’re nervous about. It took you a while to figure out what material to make the fake fingers with.
“How do I put it on?” Ellie furrows her brow, inspecting the clasps, “It looks a little complicated.”
“Here, let me help you.” You gently take it from her, “There are two sleeves that go over your fingers to protect them and keep the pieces secure. They stretch like this… Then, you put your other fingers inside and clasp this around your wrist.” You tighten the clasp, explaining that there’s a quick release in emergency situations. She listens closely as you show it to her, eyes wide in wonder as she slowly flexes her fingers. You watch as her lips part, a gasp leaving them as she watches it bend with the rest of her hand.
“Do you… like it?” You nervously fidget with your fingers, “I can make any-!” To your shock, Ellie’s lips are on yours as she cuts you off mid-sentence. Your cheeks burn as she pulls away, her face turning red as she realizes what she did.
“I’m sorry I- um…” Ellie clears her throat, rubbing the back of her neck, “Yes. I love them.”
“That’s good. That-That’s great!” You stutter, hastily standing up, “I’m going to put some more wood on the fire.” You speed walk away and your fingers brush over your lips. ‘That was even better than my first kiss.’ You think flusteredly, feeling a tingle in your lips.
Spring arrives before you know it and it’s back to working around the farm. Ellie - sporting a spring/summer version of her glove that only covers her two fingers - insisted on helping you. You two had addressed the kiss and Ellie apologized for it. You shyly shared the fact that it was better than your first one, and it snowballed into a whole conversation about your life here. Ellie was genuinely upset that you had been all alone for the past six years. The two of you got much closer, cracking jokes and having fun as you fixed up the farm. You learned that Ellie already knew how to care for animals, and she finally told you about her life before her incident. It was hard for her to talk about at first, but she shared a new story every day. You were happy to learn more about her life, but it made you sad, too. It gave you more motivation to help her through the days.
Along with becoming more open, Ellie was definitely flirting with you. She’d make comments about your work that focused more on you than what you were doing. It made you very flustered since you’ve never been flirted with before. You didn’t mind it. You kind of liked it. You end up flirting back, surprising her one day but she happily went along with it. It wasn’t long before you were catching feelings for the auburn-haired woman.
Life on the homestead was so much brighter with Ellie around. Your routines changed to include her and you found yourself with more free time than you were used to. You excitedly used that free time to show Ellie around the area or take her into the city. The two of you had a chance to enjoy the world together. A run-in with some infected showed you how protective Ellie was. She pushed you behind her, using her body to protect you as she fought them off. When they were dead, she looked you over with such a concerned look in her eyes you thought you might faint. No one has been that concerned over your life in a while and it made your feelings for her deeper.
“How about we go down to the river?” Ellie asks, hands tucked into her hoodie pocket. You look up at her, contemplating her question.
“I’ll have to secure the chickens first.” You answer, standing up and dusting off your pants, “I don’t like them being out if I’m not around.”
“Awesome.” Ellie gives you a breathtaking smile, “I wanted to sunbathe on the rocks.”
“Sunbathe on the rocks?” You giggle.
“Yeah, I’ve got to work on my tan!”
“Your tan?” You start laughing, “You’ll get a tan working in the field with me. You don’t need to sunbathe for that.”
“What if I want to tan my whole body?” Ellie raises an eyebrow, a teasing smirk on her face, “You’ll let me harvest strawberries naked?”
“Na- ked?” You choke, your face heating up at her words.
“I mean there’s no one around for miles.” Ellie shrugs casually, “I’ve always wondered what it’s like to go skinny-dipping.”
“Have fun with that.” You clear your throat, turning around and hoping she doesn't realize you’re blushing.
“You could come with me, you know? Relax a bit.” Ellie circles around you to see your face, “It’ll be a fun experience for the both of us.” You bite your lip and look down at the ground. With Ellie around, you didn’t have to work as hard as you used to. And, although she hasn’t mentioned leaving, you were always on edge for the moment that she decided she was ready. It would be another memory to add, to fondly look back on when she did leave you behind.
“Okay.” You nod, “Let’s do it.”
“Really?!” Ellie grins, “You’re serious?”
“Why not?” You chuckle at her enthusiasm, “You’re right. It’ll be a fun experience for both of us and no one is around. It’ll be nice to let loose.”
“Awesome! Let’s go!” Ellie grabs your hand and starts running with you back to the house. You laugh at her antics as you hurry around to secure everything before you leave. You can’t help but admire how easily Ellie locks up the chickens and properly closes off the coupe. ‘It’s going to be heartbreaking when she leaves.’ You sigh but shake off the sad feelings. You wanted to enjoy your time with her.
After securing everything, you leave the house and head off into the forest. The area Ellie was talking about wasn’t too far from your place. It was a beautiful river that went up to your waist when you had to wade through it. You were nervous, extremely nervous the closer you got. You’ve never been naked in front of anyone and you agreed to skinny-dip with your crush of all people? You stop and marvel at the beauty of the area. Golden sunlight reflecting off of the water with leaves lazily drifting along and making the place look so… intimate.
“Ready?” Ellie glances at you.
“Ah…” You look at the water. ‘It’s only Ellie. It’s not like I’m showing off or anything.’ You nod, “Yeah, I am.” You turn away from her, slowly removing your clothes. You’re conscious of every piece you remove, goosebumps covering your body as you think of Ellie’s eyes on you. It makes your body feel tingly. ‘God, what am I thinking?’ You close your eyes, letting out a long exhale. ‘I shouldn’t be having these thoughts about my friend.’
“Y/n?” You jump, feeling fingers brush against your shoulder.
“Yeah?” You respond, whirling around only to get the breath knocked out of you, “You’re… beautiful.” You whisper, mindlessly. You can’t stop your eyes from wandering her body, entranced by her beauty. Ellie is lithe, toned, and everything you had embarrassingly imagined.
“I… can say the same about you.” Ellie whispers, her eyes roaming your body in return. You blush, crossing your arms over your stomach in a poor attempt to hide.
“L-Let’s go in.” You grab her hand and hurry into the water. You let out a squeal, startled by the cold water against your skin.
“Holy shit, this is cold!” Ellie curses, her grip on your hand tightening. You knew the river never warmed up but this makes you want to jump back out!
“It’s a nice change from the hot weather, though.” You comment, carrying on forward until you’re up to your shoulders. A memory crosses your mind, one of you and your parents playing around in the water. You turn to Ellie and give her a mischievous smile. You came out here to relax and have fun, so that’s what you were going to do.
“What?” Ellie raises an eyebrow. You immediately jump at her, getting a shout of surprise as you push her into the water. You’re submerged underneath with her for a moment before you’re coming up for air. The first thing you do is laugh as Ellie sputters and wipes the water from her eyes.
“Y/n!” Ellie exclaims, a laugh bubbling up as she looks at you with wide eyes, “Oh, it’s on!” She lunges at you, making you shriek as you’re knocked underwater. The two of you go back and forth, jumping on each other and playing in the water. You hadn’t felt this carefree in a while and her laughter made your stomach twist. Laughter that you were the one causing. There was something about Ellie that made you feel so bubbly. Even once you were sunbathing on a river boulder, you felt like you were floating and it was all because of her.
“I’ve never felt this relaxed before.” Ellie sighs, turning her head to look at you.
“Me either.” You mumble, resting your head on your arm as you look at her. The sunlight made her face practically glow. You could see her freckles, her eyes shone like the leaves on the trees, and even her hair seemed more reddish than normal. You were content laying here with her. ‘I could lay here forever.’
“Y/n?” Ellie whispers, propping herself up to get closer to you.
“Yes?” You hum, lifting your head. Your breath catches in your throat as you see a soft look in her eyes.
“Can I kiss you?” Ellie says even quieter as if she’s afraid for you to hear her question. Your eyes widen as you process it, and your heart starts pounding in your chest. You didn’t expect her to ask that, but the more you played it over in your head… the more you wanted it. You wanted her to kiss you.
“You can.” You whisper back. Her fingers caress your jawline, gently guiding you up and toward her. The moment is filled with anticipation as your lips hover an inch away from hers. You were so close. So close to kissing the woman you were crushing on. You gaze into each other's eyes, hers flicking down to your lips before she finally kisses you. ‘Her lips are soft.’ You think, but become too entranced by them. The way they move against your lips. How it makes you feel… How Ellie makes you feel. Slowly, it gets more intense. Her kisses get needier, hands grabbing at your body beneath her and you reciprocate. She makes your body burn and you feel an odd ache between your legs. It’s almost saddening when she breaks the kiss, making your new issue more apparent.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to be so touchy.” Ellie apologizes but you shake your head.
“I like it. I’ve never had this kind of intimacy before.” You say breathily, shifting uncomfortably as the ache becomes more obvious.
“Are you okay?” She asks in concern, “Are you sure I didn’t make you uncomfortable?”
“I- um…” You feel yourself blush. ‘Do I bring this feeling up to her?’ The concern in her eyes only makes it worse, “You didn’t make me uncomfortable, but I feel um… t-this weird aching I’ve never felt before. B-Between my legs.” You look away from her, feeling embarrassed that you don’t know your own body’s responses. You hear her chuckle and she turns your face back to hers. You can see the understanding in her eyes.
“It’s okay. It means that you’re aroused and this is what you feel when you are.” Ellie gives you a soft smile, “I can ease that feeling for you, but that involves me touching you down there. But, I’d only do that if you’re comfortable with that.”
“Oh.” You blush harder. ‘How could I not know that? My mom gave me a whole course about sexual health! I just… lose myself around Ellie.’
“I’m okay with that.” You respond shyly, “You can touch me.”
“Are you sure? You did just have your first kiss. Well, real one.”
“I’m sure. I would like for you to do it.” You nod your head.
“Okay, but tell me to stop if you feel uncomfortable in any way.” Ellie agrees, waiting for you to nod before leaning down to kiss you again. You can feel her hand move down to your thigh, it resting there while you kiss. A nip on your lip has you parting your lips and her tongue slipping into your mouth. A low moan sounds from you and Ellie’s hand drags along your thigh before stopping at your clit. She breaks the kiss and starts kissing your neck, making you tilt your head back.
“I’m going to touch your clit, okay?” Ellie murmurs against your skin.
“Okay.” You breathe out, a bit distracted by the feeling of her sucking on your skin. You feel her fingers shift before - “Ellie!” You gasp, a groan leaving your lips as a twinge of pleasure goes up your spine. Little whines and whimpers come from you as she plays with your clit.
“You’re doing great.” She whispers encouragingly, “Just relax into the feeling… Good girl.” You try your best to listen to her. She talks you through it, guides you through how you’re feeling, and explains the pressure in your abdomen. It feels like forever before the pressure releases and you whine out her name as a heat races through your nerves. You’ve never felt this before. It felt amazing yet you think you might burn up on the inside. It only made the ache down there worse.
“That- That was…” You try to catch your breath, “That was amazing but I still feel that ache.”
“I know.” Ellie pecks your lips, “I wanted you to feel that before I went in you… Are you ready?”
You take a deep breath to calm your racing heart, “…Yeah. I’m ready. You should totally kiss me again, though.” That makes her laugh and shake her head. This time you’re the one pulling her into a kiss. You’re nervous but excited as her hand finally moves to the place you need her to be. A shiver goes through your body as you feel her rub your slit. It felt weird. A good weird, yet you couldn’t help but wish she’d hurry up.
“I’m going to put my fingers in.” Ellie whispers, pausing your kiss.
“Do it.” You encourage her. She gazes into your eyes as you gasp, feeling her fingers enter you. You’re vividly aware of her fingers, the cool feeling of her skin is a welcome contrast to how hot you feel down there. There’s a pause, a moment for you to breathe and steady yourself before she continues. Every movement has you gasping for breath, sending waves of pleasure up your spine. Ellie’s nothing but sweet, once again guiding you through it because things felt different this time.
The pressure in your abdomen was slow to build up, compared to when she was playing with your clit. It was a deeper pleasure, lazily coiling through you but intense enough to have you moaning for Ellie. Her eyes on you are just as intense, making your heart clench in your chest. Her kisses are firm, purposeful, and dizzying at the same time. Even her words make you clench around her, to your surprise. It was a side of her you’ve only gotten glimpses of. A side of her you’re very interested in.
“Come on, beautiful.” Ellie coaxes you, kissing your collarbone, “Don’t run from the feeling. Allow yourself to feel it… Cum for me, it’s okay.”
“Ellie!” You moan loudly. You can feel yourself tighten around her fingers as the pressure releases and she lets out a low growl.
“Good girl.” Ellie kisses you, “Good girl.” Her words make you feel proud of yourself for listening to her. And you blush at her praise for you.
“Thank you.” You whisper, meeting her eyes, “Thank you for this.” You feel like you’re floating. Your heart was racing once again and there was an overwhelming feeling of love coursing through you.
“Shhh.” Ellie pulls you into her arms, “Just enjoy the feeling. Let’s enjoy this time together.”
“Does that mean you’re staying?” You ask hopefully, playing with the hair at the nape of her neck.
“I have no plans on leaving.” Ellie smiles and you feel overwhelmed with joy.

Theres a Rambley Plush for you in case you squeamish and would rather not see ! Scroll on by and have a good day ^_^
There is also some extra lore beneath it
Tumblr media
This is a slightly older drawing but I thought it looked cool enough and showed lore so I decided to add it here as well! during the Hour of joy, Flurry was given a choice, to join the prototype’s cult, or to be left to fend for himself.
——————————————————————————————————
start voice recording, log 1
“If you join us, nobody will have to go to waste here, you will survive with us and we’ll all be free, with our new god.. he’s already helping us now, don’t you hear them? its not too late to join us, friend..”
“CatNap- what are you talking about?.. the prototype?? Join him??- and you in the killing and whatever he has planned?— are you alright??? Seriously we need to talk I don’t think this-“
“you only get one life, Flurry. Its a yes or no question.”
“…I’m sorry, but I don’t wan’t to be apart of any of it- its not good on anybody- and its not good on you—“
“you don’t know whats good for me. We’re being freed, your just another non-believer.”
“what?- non-believer?- hold on I—“
End voice recording
Later during the hour of joy Flurry walking around, ends up having a generator from the ceiling fall on him, leaving him unable to move his legs until Wally came to his rescue, and helped him get his metal prothetic legs.
CatNap no longer saw Flurry as the ally he once was, and let him lay there after it fell on him, just because in his eyes, he wasn’t worthy to keep around or help in case he got attacked during the hour of joy all because he wasn’t for the prototype.
(Rambley plush was super random but I put it there because he’s literally me/silly/lh)

For canon disabilities:
Nearly all of my kins were adhd and/or autistic yippee!
More specific highlights though-
In Lyney tl I had hearing and balance issues due to a shitty foster parent removing my feline features. (would a tail removal count as being an amputee? Im pretty sure- but it was a very important limb for my balance regardless). Thanks to Dottore's medical knowledge the brunt of the problems were fixed, I wasnt completely deaf at least! But I was left with audio processing problems. And while I did adjust to balance without my tail (and my eardrums in a completely different spot, cant forget how much those contribute to balance), I'd still have a few slip ups every so often. By the time of the game I'd say they were completely invisible issues. Oh and Lynette and I both had mild forms of chronic fatigue, hers was worse than mine though.
In one Dottore timeline (I think, they all kinda blend together idk how many I have anymore) I was a self imposed amputee- It's how I made my "clones", since I really just hacked myself apart and made robot structures around each body part. Honestly fair if anyone doesnt want to count it, but I personally do. (On that note I seem to have a kinmonality for amputation.. theres far more than Dottore and Lyney...) Another Dottore disability (possibly) is the hivemind itself, as every member of it could all speak to eachother within our minds I can only assume it would feel similar to being a system. I'm a singlet in this life so I can't really be sure to be fair, I just know my own brain can't replicate the way I could think in that period of the timeline, and it sounds quite a bit like what many of my system friends have described.
One version of the game sent in asked to include fictional disabilities- I think being cursed would count for Shinobu. Messing around in Madame Pings attic with Yanfei was a terrible idea! Adapting to growing snake features (fangs, pupils, I think a few scales too) was AWFUL but I managed, and had Baizhu to help me adjust since he had the same thing due to Changsheng assumably. (Bonus, albeit not my kin: in this timeline Yoimiya was an amputee, what is her leg guard in game was actually a prothetic leg in the tl)
In my Baizhu tl, I did have a permanent chronic illness, I dont know what it was, but I could never find a cure for it. I didn't have Changsheng in that timeline so I really don't know what it was!
Hmm. I had Severe memory issues as Kinger, as Wanderer I would tend to fall apart if my joints were under too much stress- Many other timelines had ptsd. I'm so sure I had chronic pain in a few but I can't for the life of me remember which kins they are right now.
~🕯♟ (all kins are genshin except Kinger who is tadc)

Redesign of my redesigns from last year !?! I’m obsessed with mh again so I’m redoing my redesigns because I’ve grown attached to the g3 designs lmao. So here’s Frankie first because they’re my fav
Tumblr media
I’ll write more headcanons here, feel free to read them !!
Ok so for the “child of Frankensteins creature”, instead of being the child of victor Frankenstein, imagine a universe where victor was actually nice to his creation, gave him a name (Adam Frankenstein), and created a child for him instead of a bride. Also imagine Frankie sees Victor as an uncle more than a grandpa even tho he is technically their grandpa lmao
15 days old = 15 yrs old, they’re a sophomore at monster high
Since Mattel can’t make Frankie green anymore because of copywrite, I made them bluish and greenish yellow, blue for the g3 design and green yellow for the book design of Frankensteins creature (his skin is yellow because of formaldehyde so why not have Frankie’s skin a little yellow too)
Loves doodling on their prothetic leg
I went with an even nerdier design than last time I drew Frankie just because in the reboot movie, they wore sweater vests a lot and I thought it was cute lol
Loves accessorizing and piercings sm like their room is probably filled with diy jewelry kits and different jewelry for piercings (ofc their dad makes them get them professionally done no diy piercings here 😞)
Has a friendship bracelet with all friends possible and probably makes more all the fime
Their bag is a blue star bag with a yellowish white fluffy shoulder pad
Very very very tall, not as tall as their 8ft tall dad tho lmao
Loves platform shoes and bright makeup
Hair is like a side shave (shaved side is purple) with black streaks and a blue underdye
Doesn’t have braces anymore maybe they got them removed Lmao
Very much involved in school and probably has the most school spirit out of everyone
Doesn’t understand certain phrases (ex: bottle up ur feelings-they literally bottle up their feelings, it’s raining cats and dogs-probably will go looking for cats and dogs)
Based on my last redesign, probably still uses mobility aids when needed but they also have a prosthetic leg so idk how much
Can remove and add new limbs whenever
UPDATE: another idea I had and have said here before is that their dads could also be Herbert and Dan from reanimator because I think it's funny lol
If I think of anymore I guess I’ll add them lmao but ty for reading these if u did !!!

Nao is the rabbitboy bassist of the up and coming band SATRN!
Name- Nao
Age- 22 (born 10/8)
Gender/orientation- Gay
Height- 5'10
Story-
When he was young (17-19), Nao got tangled into a man most call The Painter's fixations. The Painter (Mark) tends to obsess with a subject who he finds inspiraton in, fixating and manipulating. Nao, unfortuanately experiencing this, tries to leave when Marks friend Sybil told him to. Her being one of the only people he trusted other than Mark, listened. Mark found out and events occured ending in Nao losing his leg. In a last attempt, he ended up escaping, being found in the forest by a forest dwelling vampire named Silas, who brought him to the border of the city, where she knew he'd be found.
After a good while of getting adjusted into normal life, a prostetic leg, and meeting his bf Zell and his friend Sou, he spends his time working with the new band SATRN as the basist. He radiates calm and positive energy, bringing a chill vibe to the band.
Relationships-
Rei- him and rei i definetly havent thought too much about, but they get along other than Rei's usual spunk.
Asura- I think of those two as the parents of the band, keeping it together in their own ways! They get along well.
Sou- Sou and Nao actually met during physiotherapy around the time Nao got his prothetic leg. Sou introduced him to Zell and the band. They get along well.
Facts!-
Zell- Nao met Zell through Sou, and Zell changed a lot for him. Zell really helped him navigate
Ill write the other ones eventually.
Later
