Beetlebabes Spoiler: Discussing THAT Ending Scene
At the end, Lydia wakes up from a nightmare of Astrid giving birth to Babyjuice only to find Beetlejuice in bed with her groggily saying, "I just had the strangest dream." before Lydia wakes up one final time, slowly looks over and sees no one there but there is a definite imprint on the pillow and sheets that Beetlejuice had definitely been lying down next to Lydia.
First of all, kudos to Tim for briefly getting Beej and Lydia into bed together. It was probably one of the most shocking parts of the movie for me. There's a couple of interesting things about this scene I thought was worth discussing.
First of all, it's cute that Beetlejuice sleeps with the covers all the way to his neck. Ghosts would probably be cold all the time so that makes sense. My headcanon is that sleeping next to Lydia not only gives Beej some warmth, but it's also the only way he gets a good night sleep.
Another interesting thing worth noting is the fact that they appear to have had the same dream.
"I just had the strangest dream."
I don't think it was a random dream. It had to be VERY strange in order for someone as weird as Beej to call it "strange". And I would say having a nightmare of his potential step daughter giving birth to a baby that looks like him definitely would be strange as hell.
Earlier in the film, Beetlejuice alluded to him and Lydia sharing a psychic connection. So it seems they're able to share dreams. Beetlejuice may have actually been the first to wake up and forced Lydia to wake up as well so that she wouldn't have to continue to experience such a nightmare.
Lydia may have said that she was ready to "start living life", but what we have to understand is that while Lydia's ghost show is over, Lydia will always carry the ability to see ghosts so "living" for her will never mean leading a normal life, which Beetlejuice is taking full advantage of.
Beej couldn't marry Lydia but still became the "man of her dreams" in a sense. lol We don't know how much time passed/how much space Beetlejuice gave Lydia before he started haunting her again, but it's clear that he'll always haunt her/be a part of her. I think he'll always be looking out for her best interests/keeping her away from assholes like Rory.
One thing that bothers me about this ending is that Tim had said in an interview that "every character gets a satisfying ending except Astrid." Except this ending doesn't feel satisfying for Lydia. Great that she made up with Astrid but this weird ghost guy is gonna be haunting her during the day and sharing her bed at night?
It just seems like a weird, unsatisfying ending for Lydia, especially with how Winona has said that Tim has always been protective of Lydia's character. It didn't have to be a traditional ending of them married (but yes it should have been lol) but Lydia's story ending with her never truly finding peace? It just doesn't sit right with me and other fans.
Instead of leaning into a horror ending, I think somehow it could've still ended with a musical song and dance number just like the first film. I want there to be a third part so bad that I'm actually thinking of writing my dream script for it, AND I'm delulu enough to believe Tim will find it floating around on the internet a few months from now and love the script so much that he officially announces Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. Delulu is the Solulu.

Hot takes on BJ2? It was okay. Not the worst film to ever come out. The Dolores story line felt weak but I was sort of pissed for bj at the end there
My hot takes:
Lydia should've married Beetlejuice
Rory was actually fun for a minor antagonist. I really liked him even though he treated Lydia like shit. His actor was phenomenal.
Delores didn't get fleshed out as a villain and the film missed its chance to explain BJ's resentment towards her. Though, I do think they were hinting something there with Delores/Rory. That was probably the point of her though, I think she was meant to be pointless. I'd argue she was in the film LESS than Beej himself hahaha
Beej willingly put his Afterlife on the line knowing Delores was out there just because Lydia needed his help. Not only did he help reuninute them, he literally sent Jeremy to Hell. I'm with you there, he needed to be compensated and Lydia got cold feet once again lmao
I really liked the way Lydia was portrayed. Sh00t ME! I know this one's controversial. I see a lot of myself in her and relate to her personality in a lot of ways in this sequel way more than the first movie. She's not some crybaby that can't solve problems, she likes working alone and has her eyes on the game at all times.
Lots of plotholes between the Handbook and Afterlife Crime rules. The marriage contract was solely between Lydia and BJ, there was no reason for it to go up in flames. And Astrid wouldn't know those rules better than Beej, Wolf, or Lydia who've read through it 1000 times
Those are most of my takes, I think. I really hope some of the fandom jumps on the Rory/Delores train since he does try to protect her from the Sandworm, and they'd make a great hot villain & loyal henchmen duo, along with Beetlejuice/Lydia being the antagonist in love with the protagonist trope.
This whole movie is a fun, shippy, chaotic mess. Lol everyone gets a little bit of something. I really liked it despite most of my criticisms

Similarities between the sequel and the Beetlejuice cartoon (Beetlejuice TAS, season 1)
I finished watching the first season of Beetlejuice: The animated show, and I noticed a lot of little details that seem to blend the toonverse with the sequel, and I thought I'd share them with you all.
Let me preface this by saying, I know that the toonverse is its own thing and is not supposed to be considered canon (at least not to the movieverse), but, as a fan, and totally ignoring that 😆, I just thought it'd be interesting and fun to compare the sequel and the toonverse. You can take this one seriously or not seriously at all. It might have been coincidences, but I don't think so. I personally think the writers either watched a few episodes, or had people watch a few episodes for them, and they derived some details from the animated show to include in the sequel.
We have to keep in mind that the animated show ran for years, and while of course many fans originated from the '88 movie, there are probably many more who became fans of the Beetlejuice universe by growing up with the cartoon, and only later discovered the movie. So, keeping this in mind, it would be natural if Tim Burton wanted to give a little nod or include some little details from the cartoon in the sequel, starting with Betelgeuse himself being considerably more like a PG-13 version of his cartoon iteration than his original movie self (now that I've been watching the cartoon, I can definitely see that his personality is a blend of the two).
I'm sure Tim recognizes that a huge section of the fandom comes from the animated show, plus Burton himself had his hand on the animated show as well, so it wouldn't be a crazy thing to consider he might have wanted to blend in elements of the toonverse with the movieverse.
So. Without further ado, here are some little details I noticed! I wish I would have watched the first season with this post in mind. If you want me to point out more similarities between toonverse and movieverse, while I'm watching the entire animated show for the first time now, let me know. I will pay more attention this time (just started season two tonight).
Here are some similarities between the cartoon's first season and BJBJ, in no particular order because I didn't take notes and this is at the top of my head:
Let's start with the most obvious one, and this starts from the very first episode: Dancing in the air. It definitely must be part of Tim Burton's vision for Lydia and Betelgeuse that they love to dance together (well, in the movieverse they aren't there yet lol, but they do have a lovely dance in midair in the movie, which is reminiscent of them dancing in the show all the time). It's even the first thing Beej does when he joins Lydia in the first episode. They danced in the air in several episodes this first season alone, and I'm sure I will see more dancing as the seasons go by.
They open a door to the sandworm world by pulling a lever, which totally reminded me of Betelgeuse pulling a lever in BJBJ to send Jeremy to hell. lol
Talking about that door, it also appears on the floor, which made me think about the moment Astrid draws the door to the Titan moon on the floor of the church in BJBJ. Not sure if this one is worth mentioning, because the shape of the door I think is round in the cartoon while in the movie it's a square door, but the fact that it's on the floor and the sandworm erupts through it is definitely a similarity I want to point out.
Talking about Astrid!! There are parallels between Astrid and Lydia: there was one episode (the Spooky Tree episode) in which Lydia is concerned about the environment and even does a form of activism to protect the tree. Astrid is also concerned about the environment.
This one might not be important, but I think it's worth mentioning since we're in the topic of Astrid and cartoon Lydia parallels: in one episode Lydia has a bag of piranhas she had bought for her dad's aquarium. (I just looked for the episode and this was on episode five "Laugh of the Party"). It's funny because... Astrid's dad was being eaten by piranhas when he drowned. This gives me a vibe that cartoon Lydia may have been part of the inspo for Astrid. Funny coincidence that both Lydia and Astrid's dads had a piranha moment?
Beetlejuice has a photo of Lydia. And it's almost exactly like the one he has in BJBJ. It also has cobwebs stuck behind it, just like his photo of her in the sequel. This was in one of my favorite episodes so far, "Out of my mind". Worth mentioning here as well that Beetlejuice literally has a giant photo of Lydia in his head, showing that she's pretty much the most important thing he thinks about. One could say in BJBJ she's also constantly in his head as well, considering the man waited over 30 years just for her.
Another detail, and I totally sent a screenshot of this one to my sisters: there's a man sitting in the afterlife waiting room with his body half-eaten by a shark. The shark is still attached to him, but the fact that there is a man half-eaten by a shark immediately made me go "huh!" when I saw it in the cartoon because that is how Charles Deetz died in the sequel. Another funny coincidence? Nah, I think not!
Edit: I forgot to add this one! In one episode, Beetlejuice and the gang become performers (armpit music lol). There's a scene Beetlejuice says he has a romantic number to dedicate and he takes his heart in his hand. Maybe not that significant, since he's not aiming this at Lydia (he isn't dedicating it to anyone in particular but the audience), BUT he did take out his heart to dedicate a romantic number, just like he did in BJBJ, so I'm including this.
Edit to add Another Lydia and Astrid parallel: In the cartoon, this blonde girl, Claire, picks on Lydia for being odd, basically. Lydia stands out because of her strange and unusual personality. We can see in BJBJ Astrid also gets picked on due to her family's connection to ghosts and her mom's show. Astrid also stands out as strange and unusual at her school.
Additional stuff:
Inflatable Beetlejuice. Pretty sure this happened several times in season 1, though not quite like in the movie. It was even part of a song Lydia and Beej sing in the first episode. lol
Beetlejuice turns himself into a pretty wild Babyjuice in the first epiosde. Didn't include this one on the list above because it's Beej who turns himself into a baby, vs him manifesting an "inner child" baby and a nightmare baby in BJBJ.
This is it for this post! Feel free to add more if I missed something from season one! Will probably make a post like this about season two as well if I notice more similarities between the toonverse and the sequel.

One afternoon...
*Lydia finds Y/N up in the attic with Adam. They have pieces of plywood, nails and hinges, brushes, a hammer, and some paint surrounding them*
Lydia: Hey guys. Whatcha doing up here?
Y/N: *looks up from her work* Oh hey Lyds. Adam's helping me make a proper container to protect my dice.
Adam: I'm pretty crafty when it comes to building things. I'm happy to help out
Lydia: Is this because Beetlejuice keeps trying to eat your dice?
Y/N: *sighs in frustration* Yeah. Not only has he ignored my requests for him to leave my stuff be, I actually caught him swallowing my blue tie-dye d12 yesterday. And I just bought it three days ago!
Lydia: He ate your new d12?! It didn't even look like candy, to me at least
Adam: *pats Y/N on the shoulder* Sorry about that kiddo
Y/N: Look, all I want is for Bug Juice to leave my dice alone and not eat them. *looks at her project* I'm hoping this box will act as a deterrent and keeps my dice collection safe
Lydia: *snickers at Y/N calling BJ 'Bug Juice', then looks towards the attic door* (softly) Oh, no
Y/N: What's 'oh, no' Lyds?
*She and Adam look up to see Beetlejuice holding a small handful of Y/N's dice, about to put a cherry-red d6 in his mouth*
BJ: *notices Y/N, Adam, and Lydia* What are ya lookin' at?
Lydia: You might wanna drop the dice Beej, like now
Y/N: *slowly getting to her feet* I've told you time and time again: STOP. EATING. MY. DICE!!!
BJ: *shrugs* That sounds like a you problem, Babes.
*Y/N lets out a anger-fueled shriek and lunges at BJ*
*Adam and Lydia look at each other and sigh in exasperation*
Adam: I'll grab the band-aids and disinfectant... again

The whole being dead thing
(MUSICAL) BEETLEJUICE X GN! PLUS SIZE! MORTICIAN! READER
Beej being really into the readers body, fat4fat bitches rise up. Beetlejuice is a tummy guy.
+nsfw
Tumblr media
- Death was something you were well acquainted with. Working with the dead like it was second nature.
- and to you it was, underneath florescent lights and protective gear you felt at home.
- you'd had run-ins with the recently deceased, it wasn't uncommon, in fact a representative of the underworld had given you a couple dozen copies of 'handbook for recently deceased'.
- ghosts were just a part of your job, so when Beetlejuice showed up you didn't think too much of it.
- until he stayed around.
"So why exactly do you stay here with me?" You ask, hands busy gently applying a layer of foundation on an older woman's face. Beetlejuice hums.
"I just like the vibe."
- one night after a particularly rough day (even as a seasoned mortician some things can still get to you.) you smoked a joint in the car before you left the parking lot.
-irresponsible? 100%, but you don't do it often, so Beetlejuice is high-key surprised.
- you're his favorite breather, so of course you smoke weed! And also a lil worried, but he's not exactly sure why yet.
- you end up falling asleep in the car and when you wake up you're leaning on him, he's just kinda looking at you with wide unblinking eyes.
- like a cat focusing on prey?? But y'know kinda lovingly .
- acts differently from that point
- he stops staying there for the 'vibe' he starts saying he just wants to hangout.
- outside of being at the funeral home.
- at YOUR house.
- he still came and went while you worked.
- one night you spark up maybe a little too much, and are just a bit too touchy, and- ah shit he's hard.
- you kiss him; he tries sobering you up. You think he's mad at you. You fucked up.
- you wake up the next morning and Beej checks up on you, and you apologize like crazy and low-key confess.
- he kisses you this time and you reciprocate. And soon his hands are wandering all over your body, and he finds your belly and it's soft and squishy and he can grab at it and and and-
-he short circuits, he can't produce new blood you assume so when it goes to his dick he def gets light headed.
- lets out just this fucking noise from deep in his throat, he's so turned on man.
- you grind on him and he almost cums in his pants 🤩.
- your hands find his body, and you run your hands across his folds and just hold his love handles
- you fuck so hard that night you genuinely have to call of work because you can't walk.
- if you're trans masc he sucks T dick like a binki btw! Runs his tongue over the tip and slurps it down with the filthiest fucking noises, literally bobbing his head up and down, moaning when you pull his hair.
- T shots are followed by head, he can't go without it.
- trans femmes he sucks girl cock like it's his fucking job, will literally only come up to call you a good girl and finger you :3!
- what I'm trying to say is he's super good at giving head, and it's mostly bc he doesn't need to breathe, so he could go until your legs shake and you're crying 🩷.
- also takes it up the ass like a fucking CHAMP, whining for it and his voice literally cracking. (Oh God if you're teasing him, don't get me started, "you take my strap/cock so good pretty boy." "MORE PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE!")
- he pulls hair, scratches and bites, no you can't convince me otherwise.
-it sparks up... Interesting conflicts in your brain. "It's... not necrophilia, right? Technically??? You're dead, but not like... Dead dead, I can talk to you, and you can consent?"
- he's soft for you.
- but also you'll probably need to wrangle him into the bath.

FATHER'S DAY
"Hey, Chuck."
"Oh, hello, BJ," Charles said. "How are you doing today?"
"I'm good, thanks. Listen, uh ... I was wonderin' about something, i-if you're not too busy, I mean -- it's not really important or anything, I was just curious, you know ..."
"What is it, BJ?"
"Well, uhh ..." The demon's hair had turned magenta with deep purple streaks, and he was twisting his fingers together self-consciously as he stared at them. "I ... I was wondering if, uh ... if you ..." He shook his head. "Nah, n-never mind -- i-it doesn't matter."
"BJ," Charles said, setting aside his newspaper. "If you have something to ask me, just ask." He paused briefly. "I promise I won't get angry. Now, what is it?"
"Well, uh ... do you ... do you like me?"
Charles looked at him. "Since you've come to live with us, you've put us in terrible danger from your mother, you've been disruptive, vexatious, irritating, aggravating, disrespectful of boundaries --"
"Yeah," Beej said morosely. "That's what I thought." He looked like he was on the verge of tears.
"I'm not finished," Charles said sternly. "You've also been funny, thoughtful, brave, protective of us, and shown a willingness to be a better person. You're a good friend to my daughter -- to all of us. Your presence has helped us grow closer as a family, and I don't know that that would've happened had you not been here."
Beej looked up, confused.
"I may not always show it, but I'm glad you're here, BJ," Charles told him. "I think of you as the son I never had. And it warms my heart when you call me 'Dad'."
Beej smiled self-consciously, biting his lower lip. "You really think of me as your son?"
Charles nodded. "I do," he replied. "My weird, dead, psychopathic, potentially murderous son."
"That's the nicest thing anybody's ever said to me! " Beej exclaimed, throwing his arms around the man.
Charles hugged him back awkwardly.
Beej released him. "I got something for you," he said, handing Charles a folded piece of card stock.
On the front was drawn a red heart, and in crude purple letters the demon had written:
HAPEY FATHURZ DAY!
Charles opened the card, and his eyes filled with sudden tears as he read what was inside:
2 THE BEST DAD EVER!!!!!!!!!
(THATS U!)
UR FRIEND SON
BJ
I LUV U
"Sorry I didn't have time to make it nicer," the demon said. "I just found out about Father's Day."
"It's perfect," Charles told him, squeezing his eyes shut as the tears spilled down his cheeks. "Thank you, B-- son." He smiled at Beej. "It's a beautiful day," he said. "How about we go do some birdwatching?"

Beetlejuice as your father? 🕸️
;; oml this is something sweet as FUCK ¦🕸️
⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘
🕸️ 🕸️
Beetlejuice never thought of becoming a father
Yet here he was.
One night as he was walking down the graveyard - he spotted some young girl sitting on, what could be, her grave.
She looked.. Very young, normally, BJ wouldn't care.. Yet now it was something else.
He went up to her, and it didn't take long for them to start talking
She died a few weeks ago by tuberculosis - she didn't get the right treatment and well - she ended up dead.
As the night went by he could see that the girl trusted him, he tried his best to cheer her up - and spoiler alert, he did a great job.
As time went by, these two had special bond.
Beetlejuice took her to the Netherworld, showing her everything around, treating her as best as he could.
He was very protective of her - considering that she was a very young soul, he didn't want her to feel any more pain.
Beej didn't like any sort of things that involved touch. Yet to her, he would hug her and anything that she wanted
Reads bedtime stories
Plays with her
Even would let her do makeup on him
He keeps her drawings in special places
He told Lydia about her, one time she met her
And it went.. Great! These two girls got along together
Beetlejuice taught her how to cause some mischief or in general, chaos
She was great at it.
And Beej couldn't just not feel like a proud Father at that moment..

for the cuddle ask game... 4, 14, 16, 20, 26, 30 <- I limited myself to 6. feel free to combine any or discard any as you please xxxxx
HELLO HELEN and thank you for this prompt LOL super cute and I had a great time writing it!!! sorry this is so late but I HAVEN'T ABANDONED THESE PROMPTS I PROMISE!! anyway I picked 20. cuddles while reading to each other plus 30. pulling the other's arms tighter around themselves from this prompt list.
Hawkeye yawned. He tossed his book onto the nightstand and rolled over twice, coming to a stop on top of BJ.
“Hi,” BJ said, raising his own book to better consider Hawkeye, who was looking at him intently.
“Hi,” Hawkeye answered. He nosed into BJ’s chest. “What are you reading?”
BJ showed him the cover of his book. A thick science fiction collection Hawkeye had gifted him. More to Hawkeye’s tastes than his own, but he was enjoying himself anyway.
Hawkeye continued to gaze at him. It was pointed, and expectant—BJ knew what he wanted. An occasional nighttime routine. Usually it was indulged when one or the other of them was struggling with sleep, but it was nice, too, for no reason at all.
“The fact is, the Time Traveller was one of those men who are too clever to be believed: you never felt that you saw all round him,” BJ began, reading aloud, clear but soft, speaking from the chest instead of projecting.
Hawkeye rubbed his face against BJ’s sternum lazily, eyes shut in contentment. He had a terrific cowlick.
BJ grasped his arm with his free hand as he continued to read, anchoring him. Hawkeye was breathing softly against him, asleep or thoroughly relaxed, by the time he reached a page break. Moving might disturb Hawkeye, so BJ struggled to turn the page one-handed—managed to free his thumb, stretched to reach the opposite page, and dropped the book onto Hawkeye’s head. Hardcover and all.
“Oh, Hawk,” BJ said, already laughing—Hawkeye had made a funny, catlike sound of discontent, and the thunk of the book bouncing off of him had been even better. He clutched Hawkeye tight and tried to kiss the crown of his head and stop laughing so much all at once, trying to balance how terribly he felt with how comic the progression of events had been. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry. Did that hurt?”
Hawkeye removed his head from BJ’s chest, looking at him through one slit eye. His indignation cracked into laughter almost immediately.
“Sorry, I’m sorry,” BJ repeated, rubbing his back. His ribs hurt from laughing under Hawkeye’s full weight.
“Some alarm.” Hawkeye slipped down to rest his head against BJ’s middle.
“What about my book?” BJ asked, when it seemed like Hawkeye was settling in for the night.
“That deadly weapon? It’s staying on the mattress where it can’t hurt anyone.”
“Sorry again.” BJ petted Hawkeye’s hair, feeling guilty and protective, even though it hadn’t been a hard hit, and Hawkeye would tell him if he’d really been hurt.
Hawkeye patted his flank. “Just teasing, Beej,” he reassured him, looking up long enough to wink. “I’m hard-headed.” He paused, holding BJ’s gaze. And I’m bringing the encyclopedia to bed tomorrow. For self-defense.”
BJ squeezed him. “Which letters?”
“Oh,” Hawkeye said, nuzzling into him happily, “let me see. A for aerial, ambush, attack; B for betrayal, book, bombardment, bruise—”
“I get it,” BJ said, laughing, and kissed the rest of the alphabet away.

Lydia looks so smug when Betelgeuse is about to have Rory killed, like she's thinking "this is what my man is willing to do for me, bitch" 😆 And yet she's afraid of him? Nah, that's her excuse to push Beej away. Anyone familiar with romance arc structure? Looking at it specifically through the Romancing the Beat structure, I feel like, if applied to BJBJ, the story left Lydia in the "Retreating from love" beat. I'll have to review the beat sheet and rewatch the movie with romance arc structure in mind to make sure, but I think she made her fear-based choice to reject love in BJBJ by banishing Betelgeuse.
Not saying that BJ3 will start with her Dark Night of the Soul (though she did look sad or one could say regretful after banishing him. She's looking at the floor with a furrowed brow, like she's conflicted). BJ3 might retrace earlier beats more solidly, or go into the beats BJBJ might have skipped, because this is a romance arc in a horror-comedy, so it wouldn't follow a traditional romance structure, I guess (they might also write in a romance arc intentionally in BJ3, if they didn't already write in the romance arc intentionally in this one. Personally I think they so did. lol I get the vibe Burton and co wanted to plant the idea in this movie and end the series with the two of them together. They're testing the waters, basically).
//EDIT: ACTUALLY they might still be in either the Set up or the Falling in Love's "No way" beat, in which Lydia has pretty much stated why she's not falling in love (she didn't say it literally, of course, just her actions lol), and specifically NOT with Betelgeuse (this one she did verbalize, as I'll write bellow. Things she said about him: he's a stalker, a trickster demon, "bad things will happen" if he's here, etc). They might have been entering the Falling in Love part of the arc, and yet I think the story took her right to the Retreating from Love beat at the end, because she did banish him. But he's still around, so they might still be here at the Set up or Falling in love parts of the arc? 👀 Anyway, I'll break it down eventually and write a romance arc beat sheet for them.//
This is how Lydia's rationalizing her fear-based rejection of love: "He's literally evil and will use me and leave me". And "there's an age gap, it wouldn't have worked out between us anyway". She's protecting her heart from being hurt again. The fear of him leaving might come from her past relationships failing; one could even bring up how Richard left her to go on his Amazon adventure, when their relationship failed. Then Richard ended up dying in that trip and left her forever (because she can't even see his ghost). Then her mention of the age gap, that might have just been her looking for the easiest way out, to reject him without even trying to give him a chance after seeing that he might not be that bad after all.
Anyway, I'll rewatch the movie and create a romance arc beat sheet for these two. Just because I'm a nerd and it'll be fun. 😂 I'll see how many romance story beats were actually used and how many we have yet to go into with these two until endgame.
If there is a romance arc between them in BJBJ, then it's incomplete. Which means BJ3 will complete it, but I gotta push my hopes down. Let's not get our hopes up, but STILL I can't unsee what is there to see. lol

क्रीं
Kreem is the Beej Akshar or the Root sound of Kali Maa.
Kreem or क्रीं is Goddess Kali bija mantra. Kali Maa gives us health, strength, all round success and protects from evil powers. This mantra creates a strong base for Kali Mahavidya Sadhana.
In this mantra ‘ Ka ' is Maa Kali , ‘ Ra ' is Brahman, and ‘ ee ' is Mahamaya. ‘ Nada ' is the Mother of the Universe, and bindu is the dispeller of sorrow.
Kali Mantra - Kali Ma Bija Mantra will bless you with strength and power, and fill you up with positive energy. When you recite Kali Mantra 108x, the powerful energy of the Goddess Kali will instantly make you feel aware and powerful. The Shakti (energy) is calm, gentle and creative, however when it is needed it will transform into defensive destructive and aggressive energy.
This Kali Mantra - Kali Maa Bija Mantra is the most powerful and the easiest Mantra chanted by all of Kali’s devotees:
ॐ क्रीं कालिकायै नमः
Om kreem kalikayai namah
(I bow my head to the Goddess Kali)
A Bija Mantra is the shortest form of a Mantra just like a bija (seed) which when sown grows into a tree. Similarly bija mantras of different Gods, when recited together it gives lot of positive energy and blessings of all the Gods. They are the vibrations, and represent the "call" of the soul.
It is believed that when the universe was created, these sounds (beej) were produced during the cosmic evolution and became the seed mantras. There are various Bija Mantras which are an important part of Mantras and each Bija mantra has its own power and when mixed with other words add extra power to the benefits of that mantra.
The best way to meditate and chant is with the vizualisation of the symbol of Maa Kali (Goddess Kali)

For offerings, red wine, red hibiscus or red gloriosa flowers appeal the most to Goddess Kali.

Beetlebabes dni (seriously fuck off)
So, my current hyperfixation is Beetlejuice, movie, cartoon, and musical. But I have all the Beetlejuice cartoons on file so as I was watching, I decided to redesign Lydia and Beej in the show’s style for my own fic I’m working on. I added silhouettes of the show’s designs as a comparison. And I finalized my OC as a bonus. So here’s some info about Bj and Lydia. I’ll explain my OC some other time.
Beetlejuice:
I used all iterations of him as inspiration, but in terms of visual, it’s mostly the musical and cartoon. Gave him his green hair and also a mullet cause... Idk I think it looks good. But in terms of personality, it’s a nice combo of all three. He’s a lot more nastier and violent than his toon counterpart, but still retains some of the sensitivity showed in the show. For example, he’s still protective of Lydia, but instead of simply putting beetles in a bully’s hair, he’ll genuinely traumatize them with a scare or straight up try and kill them. He’s still a handsy and overtly sexual being like in the movie/musical. Instead of responding to emotional rejection (outside of flirtatious contexts) with a depressive episode like the show, he gets very angry and vengeful. He’s petty, selfish and a conniving ass like all three iterations. But he’s not as dumb as his toon counterpart. He’s irrational and acts before he thinks sure, but when it comes to being a trickster, he’s more thoughtful and malicious like the movie version.
His relationship with Lydia is a big brother/little sister type. She’s one of the very select few who’s ever gotten past his walls. He’s protective of her and always encourages her interests in the gross, rude, and dead. But he’s less affectionate than the show/musical. He’s not a big fan of pda and just barely tolerates her occasional hug. He and Lydia are the type of friends that exchange insults and petty barbs as a way of showing how they care.
A brief note on his most common alter ego, Bettyjuice. I modernized her into an egirl because the aesthetic is perfect with all the stripes. She’s pretty much the same as the show; gross, rude, and impulsive. But I made her too pretty unfortunately. I kept leaning towards cute with certain attributes like the added beanie and her adorable tummy, so that’ll probably be tweaked in the future, but we’ll see. I do like this design a lot even though it’s not gross enough.
Lydia:
Again, all iterations were an inspiration. Her Netherworld design is just a more aged up version of the original poncho, but I added a touch more purple at the forefront to reflect her personality. And her normal design is more muted just as a contrast to the Netherworld to make it seem mundane in comparison. In terms of personality, she’s got the character development of the musical. She’s still deadpanned and sarcastic like the movie/musical, but she’s much softer and more sweet like her toon counterpart. She’s a little more mature now that she’s 18, but not by much cause she’s still a young, developing girl. She only has a few friends her age since most of her peers at school are put off by her goth aesthetic and macabre interests. It also doesn’t help that she hangs around a weird egirl who likes to throw bugs at people (Bettyjuice of course). She does have two friends, Becca and Pamela (loosely based off Bertha and Prudence) and of course, her family. She still loves the Maitlands and hangs out with them a bunch. She has a better relationship with Charles Deetz now that she’s a little older. The one she has conflict the most is Deelia, but there’s still clear love there. She fully accepts Deelia as her mother now, while, of course, still keeping Emily Deetz in her heart as well. But they tend to bicker and argue the most because of their different worldviews, but much less so than before now that Lydia regularly spends time in the Nethworld.
But of course, Lydia’s best friend is Beetlejuice. They pull pranks, get into mischief, and regularly get revenge on Lydia’s main bully Claire Brewster.
But yeah, that’s it. I’ll explain my OC later, but I’m too tired rn. I’m working on some more art for Beetlejuice, but the main inspo is the cartoon since it has a lot more to work with in terms of story and world building.
