no bc u don’t UNDERSTANDDDDD their rivalry was so intense Prost put a clause in his contract saying he wouldn’t be teammates with senna again but when he retired ayrton begged Prost to come back because he couldn’t feel challenged by anyone else on the grid, their rivalry was so intense it was a period of great distress for alain but at Adelaide senna dragged Prost up onto the number one spot on the podium. During their time as teammates they didn’t talk, to the point that Prost has told a story of them “hanging out” but after their dinner senna went into the other room and slept because he refused to talk. But when Prost retired they would talk on the phone multiple times a week. One of the last things we ever hear from Senna is his radio message saying hello to alain; in the 30 years since alain has done nothing but speak with so much love and respect for ayrton and the importance of their rivalry and protected ayrton’s legacy. They r so important to me.

If you could have a drink with Senna one last time, what would you say to him?

I would love to. That was the plan when we were discussing (at the) end of '93 and beginning of '94. We had a connection. We had a call. Sometimes, more than one call every week. We were talking about the present, about the future, and we were talking about what happened in the past but not a lot. For sure if we had a drink, I would have a lot of questions, a lot of discussions we could have. It was really different. It was a different personality after our last podium together in '93 in Adelaide. And there was a lot of things I wanted to ask, I wanted to know, because he's a very mysterious person also, you know? And he did not want to be a friend when we were racing because he told me that he had a fear—that if we were friends, he would lose some part of motivation. But when I retired, obviously, everything went back and we could have had a lot of fun, I suppose.
