In some of the chapters of Sindria’s Prophet you mentioned slight yandere and I have been wondering if it will ever turn into a dark romance

Sinbad's greed will make him possessive with his love. It will get worse before it starts to get better. I don't think it will ever go full dark romance because the point of this work is to help me feel safe in a relationship again

I will definitely write dark romance in the future because it's one of my favorite genres, but not this time

ty for the question! only Narinder had his memories wiped, the other bishops kept their memories since they kept their ties to their crowns

the red crown was originally "loaned" to the lamb, so they were able to use its powers without fully claiming ownership. but when Narinder was defeated the crown wasn't properly passed down. As a result, its kind of a shared custody situation and the lamb cant use the crown without having Narinder nearby since its still tethered to him (hence the bodyguard/attendant role)

when the lamb recruited the other bishops, they informed them of Narinder's situation and they kind of have an understanding to keep his past a secret from him; for the bishops, if he remembers them imprisoning him it might start another war. they agree that its better this way.

How did the Ancients become corrupted .in the first place, why they turned to beast and in your opinion, when did this happen (I feel it's after the beasts became free)

For now?

The Prophet wanted to save everyone he could, even if he had to delve into the dark side of his magic.

The Lover allowed her passion to seep into overindulgence, deriving joy from whether it be from fighting to drinking.

The Tower allowed Affogato to get into his head, until it backfired on Affogato and the results ended up being worse then he could imagine.

White Lily knew how dangerous the world could be and now that she had the Silver Kingdom to take care of, she had to stay strong. She saw how the Beasts could sow chaos firsthand with Shadow Milk and the now Lady of the Lilies vowed to never let that happen again, to extreme results.

The Gleaming Goddess never could let anything go, she considered everyone and everything under her rule as her treasures. She saw the whole world as her treasure, something she must have. Her greed is never satisfied.

Eight-year-old Anakin loses his chip in a freak accident that also loses him his arm (the one that, in another life, Dooku would have lopped off in a battle).

Delirious with blood loss and fever, and Shmi busy in the shop, Anakin wanders away from his minders and into the desert during the recovery period, following a need to be somewhere out in the sands that he does not know is guidance from the Force.

He finds his way to an isolated cave, shaded from the sun and predators, and collapses against a wall. He waits, fading in and out of awareness, until someone is suddenly there, pressing a waterskin to his mouth and urging him to drink.

He looks up, and it's an old man (or at least, old to the eyes of a child), who looks at Anakin like he is so terribly, terribly sad, and like he knows him, like he's sorry for something. The man gives him water, and light foods. The waterskin is filled from a small spring that comes through a crack in the wall of the cave. Anakin falls asleep a few times, but eventually, he is awake enough to converse.

The man introduces himself as Ben. He asks what happened to Anakin, how he ended up out here, where his parent is. Anakin answers what he can, because something tells him to trust this man, and so he does. The man is very kind to him, even changes his bandages and puts something that smells medicinal and gross on the damage, and then offers to escort Anakin back to his mother, or... well, wherever he might want to go that's safe for him. After all, he doesn't have a chip anymore.

Anakin doesn't know. He'd like to at least talk to his mom before he makes any decisions. Watto probably won't be too upset about losing him; he's a lot cheaper now that he's "damaged goods."

(Ben looks very angry at that, but not at Anakin.)

(He's seen that look on a lot of the older slaves, the ones that are protective of the kids, but can't actually protect all that well.)

Anakin asks if he can stay here for a few more hours to think. Ben agrees. Anakin falls asleep.

He dreams of a green bird, and a horned woman with a staff, and a monster all in black with a cape and a skull-like helmet. He dreams of the oceans that he's heard Tatooine used to be. He dreams of the man, Ben, younger and happier and with friends that all have the same face.

Anakin wakes up cold and manhandled, scared as someone pulls him up and away from a pressure he can't identify, a rushing noise he's never heard before. Ben is holding him, surprised and a little afraid, and Anakin looks down and...

And the trickle of the spring has become a river.

So I started reading House of Open Wounds, by your sagely recommendation, and I think it's my new favourite book. The magic? the Magic? Okay but The Magic.

And the way gods work, and, and the cultures, and and and, The characters especially! Poor Jack, he just wants to help. Every line between him and his God had me howling. Prassel is my favourite but I'm biased. Honestly I have so many feelings about this book and not any of the words to explain them.

I have not finished the book yet, (im at the part where we find out about Masty's identity) but I am seriously enjoying it so far! I will definitely be taking a look at the other books on your list.

Ayyy I'm glad you like it! It is a stellar character study and I'm starting to learn that's a strong point for Adrian Tchaikovsky's. And the world building is definitely some of the most unique I've ever read.

I think Banders had to be my favorite character. All of the characters were complex and interesting, but I really loved her? Dichotomy? She's a rebel of her system and also a product of her environment. She has major blind spots to her privilege and station and also near all-inclusive compassion for people she deems are hers. I have known people like her in real life, and they were also uniquely military. It's so so interesting, the odd gaps people build to encompass people they like, and she has them in a very human way I've never seen a character showcase before.

Also, she is a thief and a scoundrel, and I love her.
