The Prophecy Trials; 1-2-3-4-5-6

(every paragraph is a chapter!)

Little reminder: this part of the book takes place in the same time as the Passage Lessons, but it's just seen with Ojtaro's POV! Enjoy, people!

Ojtaro reaches the Cave of Prophecies and, after flying instead of using the stairs that some crazy ancestor has done for the area, he enters and sees the internal side of the Cave. Four areas of the four elements, a totem with four illustrations in the center. And suddenly, near the totem, someone appears. It's the Prophecy Guide, which is called (in My AU) Najet. They introduce the Cave to Ojtaro and tries to be nice to him, despite Ojtaro's "amazing energy and happiness" for the Trials. Ojtaro won't begin the Trials in this lesson, but in the next one: in this one, there's just gonna be an introduction to the Prophets and the Trials.

So, yes, little introduction of the Prophets, which have names in my AU. Ṣayẹwo (water), Alaje (earth), Ominira (air) and Ifarara (fire). Translated from Yoruba: Control, Gentleness, Freedom and Passion. During this meeting, Ojtaro notices that the Water Prophet is not only very quiet, but also guilty for the past and for what happened to the King, character that is always mentioned by Najet (this is bothering Ojtaro, but the Trials are about the King's story anyways). When the introduction of the Prophecy Trials finally ends , Oj' can go home. He sees his brother, Horand, and they talk about the first lesson of the Passage and the first time in the Cave. At the end, Horand says that Oj' will be a great ruler.

Time has passed already. Oj' is entering the Cave for the Trial of Water. He already misses Sentinekka, but he'll see her soon. Hopefully. He greets the Prophet of Water, Ṣayẹwo, who is waiting for him. After a short explanation of the water and the wisdom of patience, she opens the doors of the room that will take him to the Trial. Before she leaves, Oj' manages to get a little help, a spell that won't make him scared of the ice (because he can't skate yet, remember :'>). Then, he enters. And, when he finds himself in the Trial, he hears a voice. Familiar, but never met. This unsettles him, but he ignores it and begins the Trial...

... And has the smart idea of putting a feet in the water. That's how he discovers that he's allergic to enchanted water. So to spells too. Now, the Trials works differently for him, since he's a deity: if he falls in the water, he doesn't "die and respawn". He just could die. But he's lucky, his body is strong, and when he falls he just keeps sneezing like an idiot and hurts himself- he even manages to get a nice wound on his arm, but he completed the Trial and, after witnessing the weirdness of walking ON THE WATER, returns to the Cave and finally sees Sentinekka, who has been waiting for him outside the Cave for a lot. When she notices his wound, she instantly understands that the Trial wasn't easy. And she helps him to come back home.

He... Has got an assistant now. Because he hurt himself by accident in the Water Trial, so the Prophets gave him an assistant. And they had the worst idea ever. They could have chosen Sentinekka, such a lovely companion, or Orlando! Who is nice! But NO! YOUSSEF!! So here he is: he entered the Trial of Earth with his new companion, and he's still wondering WHY. HE HATES YOUSSEF. SUCH CHILDISH AND LOUD. But he must accept it. He opens the doors of the Trial with Youssef - and gets surprised by seeing the doors float away in the Sky. Then, the two Sky kids just go through the Trial. And, while Youssef is trying to reach him while surpassing the bridge of stones that makes all the Sky kids usually fall (he's falling many time too, while Oj' manages to walk on the bridge with his quick reflexes), Ojtaro hears a voice. The same one he heard in the Trial of Water and in the beginning of Earth. When the voice asks a certain question, he understands who that being is. «Will You Replace Me?».

When they finish the Trial, Ojtaro ignores every word that Youssef pronounces and immediately reaches Sentinekka, who is waiting for him outside the Cave. He tells her everything about the words he heard. He heard the King. He's scared. What if the Elders blame her or him? Or both? What if the King is planning something? Does he want to kill them? He's going in panic. But Sentinekka, after some thinking, sighs and tells him that he has just heard a flashback. The King, once Prince, was only talking to himself. He was stressed. Just in case, Sentinekka tells Ojtaro to not imitate the King, and to speak to her if something feels wrong. And he hugs her, happy to have such a loyal friend. After this part there's a little skipping of time: Ojtaro skates on the ice of the Valley after Sentinekka has taught him how to do it.

When did Zuko start seeing the spirits of the dead? How did loss become the norm for a child?

(Maybe it was after Lu Ten, or after Mother. Maybe it was because of the burn or the fire or the dreams sent to him by Agni. Maybe such was the way of things since the very beginning of time.)

A fun fact from a biblical standpoint: if we were to walk on the sea floor as if there were no sea, the 7 continents would be like 7 mountains, but since there are seas, the 7 mountains look like 7 heads; that's why we are so surprised by how deep the sea really goes - we only see the “heads” of these “mountains.”

The Advantage Of Dream Work

Dream work, offers a unique opportunity for magical exploration and personal growth. After all, we do spend up to 25% of our lives dreaming. This alternate reality is a haven for shadow work and magickal practice. By combining ancient techniques and modern understanding of consciousness, you can unlock the potential of your dreamscape.

Understanding the Dream Realm

In witchcraft, dreams are seen as a bridge between the waking and spiritual worlds. They offer glimpses into the subconscious mind, where powerful energies reside.

There are a couple things you can do daily to increase your dream lucidity. Write down your dreams upon waking, no matter how fragmented. Keeping a dream journal enhances dream recall and help you identify recurring symbols and themes. Reality checks are also a practice you should adopt. Pinch your skin, try to read text, check the time, or look at your hands. This trains your mind to question reality, making it easier to recognize dream states.

Techniques for Lucid Dreaming

• Mnemonic Induction of Lucid Dreams (MILD): Before sleep, visualize yourself performing a reality check in a dream. Repeat this intention until you fall asleep.

• Wake Back to Bed (WBTB): Wake up after a few hours of sleep, stay awake for 20-30 minutes, then return to bed. This increases the likelihood of entering a lucid dream state.

• Dream Incubation: Set an intention before sleep, focusing on what you wish to experience or learn in your dream. This can be as simple as "I will have a lucid dream tonight" or a more specific goal.

Prophetic Dreaming

Prophetic dreaming is a potent tool for divination and foresight. These dreams, often vivid and symbolic, offer glimpses into future events or hidden truths. By interpreting the dream's imagery and symbolism, you can gain valuable insights and prepare for what lies ahead. These dreams can range from personal revelations to broader societal trends. To enhance prophetic dreaming, practitioners often employ various techniques, such as dream journaling, meditation, and the use of specific herbs and crystals. By attuning to the subtle energies of the dream realm, witches can unlock the secrets of the future and navigate life with greater wisdom and purpose.

Dream-Walking

Dream-walking is another form of dream work where the dreamer, in a state of lucidity, travels outside their own dreamscape. These journeys can lead them to astral projection, dream-hopping (visiting the dreams of others), travel to the spiritual realms, or even the land of the dead. Dream-walking carries many risks and proper precautions should be taken before even attempting it.

While dream-walking can be learned, it often comes naturally to those who practice it. Techniques are different for each person but it is something akin to hedge-riding, except the other world is accessed in a sleep state. While dangerous, it is an easier (for some) way to access other realms and even the minds of others.

Exploring the Dreamscape

Once you've achieved lucidity, the possibilities are endless. Shadow work, spellcasting, healing, manifestation, spirit communication, baneful magick, necromancy, astral projection, astral creation, and hedge-riding are all easier to do here. Through practice you can learn to access your own astral realm as well as your astral and spiritual bodies. This can give you amazing control and insight in your waking life.

Safety and Ethics

Grounding is essential. Before falling asleep and after waking from a lucid dream or dream journey, ground yourself by connecting with your physical body and surroundings. Consider the whole impact before violating someone's mind or dreamscape/subconscious. Your dreams affect your daily experiences more than most know. Approach dream work with a sense of curiosity and reverence. Remember, lucid dreaming is a skill that takes practice. Be patient with yourself and enjoy the journey of exploring your subconscious mind and beyond.

Doe explains where she comes from and why she mostly only rises at night. She is born of the moon, the moon is her womb. As a moon child she is opposite but close to Morningstar and works in opposite magic to protect Messiah.

Doe appears with burning head. I’ve never bee sure what caused it. I believe this is, the warning the involving of the Holy Spirit and the rising of the dead..

Doe laments my disobedience and the coming turmoil for the world. She urges me to act. I know I cannot. But she asks my to act on the Death coming and inevitable—to bring Messiah to he’s true purpose. To bring him home.

Doe she’s herself again. Flaming antlers, a cloak of eyes, she is watching me progress through timelines, trying to bless me even I have been mostly disobedient. She doesn’t want to punish me even though I have jeopardized a great many things in my stubbornness.

I think what might actually help the families of trans loved ones is to actually engage with where the trans person is at - especially if the family isn't quite understanding yet. When I came out, I was completely alone in figuring out my manhood. I had peers and I had exposed myself to so many trans people who explored gender, and while it was amazing, it isn't quite the same at times. I grieve quietly, sometimes, about all the missed opportunities that might have just made it easier for my family to have seen how utterly happy I was. It took them a very long time to actually notice that I was happy, especially once I got on testosterone. I'm lucky that they saw that happiness eventually, and slowly accepted it. My manhood is completely detached from their influence, both to my relief and chagrin. It's sad to me that I learned to shave from a kind online stranger, somebody who didn't even have a father and yet, I do. I have a father. I grieve at the loss of a potential shared experience. I grieve about the pain I went through when I was in that stage of transition, especially because it was raw and vulnerable. I grieve that many trans people today are traversing the path I had to, because it's sometimes lonely (even when you do have other forms of support).

It's hard to know that I will never have gotten my sense of being from my family. In many ways, it has severed a lot of connection with them because there were so many times that I was begging them to see happiness when they were focused on the idea that I was almost in a state of purgatory - flesh which felt warm but held no familiarity to them. I don't harbor ill-will toward them, I hope I don't leave the impression that I despise them. I understand what they felt, even if I can't conceptualize it myself. However, it's a raw wound in my heart, and I don't want to leave anybody else feeling that way, either.

For Sky Lore Fans - The Guide's Reunion's⁠

🍄‍🟫🔷🪻: heyyyy y'all uhm how are you??? :DD Someone, which is not me but is Leaf, wanted to introduce to you a thing that she created while writing her Sky: CotL Fanfiction, Fly Until You See The Light, and that has been going on for a while without you knowing. Soooo Leaf, here is your chance to speak.

🌿📜🫀: alright, thank you, colleague. First of all, I warn you, people. Since the beginning of my Sky story, you can see that it's an AU that tends to be the closest possible to the real game. Thought, it's still an AU, and many things that are NOT CANONIC and just theories exist in there.

Now, we can proceed.

Some of you may wonder: what is a Guide's Reunion? How does it work? That's what I'm going to talk about!

A Guide's Reunion is nothing but a meeting where all the Seasonal Questgivers/Guides organize new Seasons, Events and more. So, I can also say that I've been Daydreaming about some scenarios, and my mind has brought me to the conclusion that the Guides are a full group of chaotic beings and good old friendships.

There is a difference between Seasons and Events, in the Reunions: the Seasons are a more delicate issue, so the Gods create them as ideas and tell the Guides to organize them (such as discovering more about Spirits and the Questgivers if they're already in their area, and more...). About the Events (such as Days of Nature, Days of Style...), which are easier to make and smaller, the Guides create them and organize them on their own.

The Reunions are every two/three weeks, but the time depends mostly on the needs and ideas of the members!

Now, about the Seasonal Questgivers/Guides, I'd like to add some more information.

Every Guide of every Season participates to the Reunions.

Despite this, there are some special cases... And these are the Little Prince Season, Shattering Season and AURORA Season.

These Seasons are not randomly chosen. They have something in common: none of them has got a Sky Person as Guide. The Little Prince has got the Rose, the Shattering has got the Shattered Diamond, AURORA has got an Aurora statue/sculpture (?). So, who participates at the Reunions for the original Guides?

The answers can be two, in these cases. AURORA and Little Prince can be represented by a Spirit of their Constellation. The Spirits of the two Constellations alternate among themselves to participate in the Reunions. But what about Shattering? They have no Spirits, they don't even have a Constellation, if I'm not wrong.

A Messenger of the Stars joins the Reunion for them, and they try to help the Guides.

✷ A Messenger of the Stars is a being that is very similar to Skykids. In fact, the Messengers are Skykids, but they are more related to the Gods and the Elders. They look like normal Children of the Light, but they are known for having the AURORA Blue Wings and/or the AURORA tiara. Their purposes are the following:

To organize expeditions (and participate in them) with magic functions that may be connected to the past, the present or the future of the Sky Kingdom;

To look after the Sky Creatures, if necessary, and to always protect them from the Hunters (just people who hunt the creatures);

To discover the meanings and the hidden stories behind the ancient murals in the Kingdom;

Adding a fact about them, they tend to be good musicians, healers, and they can be good teachers and warriors.

This is an example with an original Sky OC, Guwa. ✷

Now, let's go back to the Reunions topic.

When the Guides are at the Reunions, they can't stay at their area at the same time. So, they can choose between being temporarily replaced by a Spirit of their Constellation to help the Children to complete their Seasonal Quests, or to make the Quests be closed until they come back.

I've told you all a lot about the Present, but what about the Seasons in the past?

Some centuries after the Darkness, the Corruption and the King's fall, the Season were created by the Gods to keep the population united. Children of the Light were already starting their journeys at the age of thirteen, and the Seasons helped them to make new friends more easily.

Sadly, after some time, the Seasons were forgotten because nobody had written informations about them. The first Guides disappeared for choice of the Gods, and they've never returned.

Well, that was until a recent time (that we can also see as 2019, the beginning of the Seasons). The Darkness, angry and mad at Megabird, decided to make a joke on her and gave life to the Season of Gratitude. Megabird wasn't happy about it at first, but she then saw how powerful the Seasons have always been. So, she didn't stop the cycle anymore.

✷ This is also the reason some of my OCs don't have a star sign, which I've seen in the @theweeklylight 's most recent posts.

Fun Fact before continuation

The "before Aviary" Guides usually make friendly jokes about the "after Aviary" Guides. Things like: "Back at my days, ...";

The cycle of the Pendants

The Pendants are the Seasonal necklaces that Skykids can unlock with the Pass during the Seasons.

In my AU, the Seasonal Spirits that have got a Seasonal Pendant are willing to be "secondary Guides", helpers that can participate at the Reunions. When all the Spirits of a Constellation have the Pendants, they all can participate.

The number of Spirits can change, of course. Here is some example:

Season of Remembrance -> Bereft Veteran and Wounded Warrior have the Pendants;

Season of Passage -> Melancholy Mope has the Pendant;

Season of Abyss -> Bumbling Boatswain has the Pendant;

Season of Flight -> Lively Navigator and Light Whisperer have the Pendants.

The Elders wanted to replace the old Guides with this cycle of the Pendants, but no Guide has ever let the group and nobody ever will.

✷ Oh, also, Passage Guide is very sensitive about one of his adopted Children being an helper ✷

honestly i love how when grace meets calliope, calliope is mellow, caring and concerned about grace. and then grace hears about calliope from other people and they just go oh yeah she was angry all the time she never stopped arguing.

the descriptors of argumentative and angry wouldn't make most people envision calliope's disposition, but i like how much sense it makes. the most caring people often have the most to be angry about. such a simple decision to make a character that much more multidimensional, especially for one that barely appears in three scenes.
