The universe loves to repeat itself. Cleo’s not sure if anyone else sees that, the patterns emerging and swirling like an oil slick on a pristine river, like scar tissue creeping down the backs of the friends who broke their necks, like a solid understanding when Bdubs hands her a bucket of brimstone and she doesn’t hesitate.
The universe loves to repeat itself, but this time, Cleo is green. Her friends are by her side. She’s safe. Scott helps her up the wall as they see a death message rock the chat: <SolidarityGaming fell from a high place.>
She sighs. The universe is trying. She won’t fall victim.
And then Skizz goes, an hour later, torn to pieces, and she thinks that she’ll mourn when she has time. She will not be the martyr for the cause this time. She still has so much to do. B’s still alive, after all, and while his heart beats, so does hers. She’ll stop it, one day, plunge her hands into his chest and tear it out with her claws if she has to.
<BDoubleO100 was shot by Grian.>
The universe loves to repeat itself. She’s still green, watching from above, and it couldn’t spin her death, but it could spin another’s. Cleo allows herself grief, just for a moment, but thinks better him than me.
Cleo refuses to be a martyr. She will not let the cycle repeat. She’s good at dying, she knows that, everyone knows that, it’s quite literally stitched into her skin, but she has never wanted to badly to live. Maybe revenge is toxic; she thinks someone told her that— probably Ren, though he’s one to talk.
Three down, three for the count. The two who didn’t learn and the one who took the bullet for her, metaphorically.
Cleo’s smarter than that. The universe growls at her and she growls back. Let it try.
She refuses to be a martyr.

how will you cope?
God created the Heavens & the Earth. the first two things--precious. yet in <1000 yrs you have destroyed what God made & you believe God will let that stand? the God of Heaven? my ancestral DNA goes back to the oldest bones found on the Motherland. yet you oppress the melanated peoples the world over & believe & believe the God of the Bible is just gonna 'let it slide'? the arrogance of a generation not long for this world is laughable to the living God. you have convinced yourselves that laws created by men will save you on the Day of Judgment, that 'obey ye the laws of the land' can hold water to the Law of Heaven. it is plainly written that God is searching the hearts of each & every person, looking for those who obey the law written on their hearts. love the lord your God with your whole heart & love your neighbor as yourself. you have taken self-love to a depth of hell so despised there may not be enough time to rise to the light. for do you not know that when you're asked what you did for 'the least of these' you will have to answer that you stole their labor to line your pockets. have you not heard that Jesus beckoned the little children to come to him? you will have to say you stood idly by as they were gunned down & slaughtered under the light of the sun. you will be required to give an account of the time you saw the Son of Man naked yet did not clothe him. the clothing receipts will be pulled & you will have to say that your adorned yourselves while dropping bombs on those who suffer needlessly under the mighty hand of your government. what happened when the Lamb of God was hungry during times of plenty, you'll be asked. what is there to say before the throne of God except that when food was needed it was taken from those who had nothing & given to those whose tables run over...

“We were told that we would see America come and go. In a sense, America is dying, from within, because they forgot the instructions of how to live on earth. It's the Hopi belief, it's our belief, that if you are not spiritually connected to the earth, and understand the spiritual reality of how to live on earth, it's likely that you will not make it.
Everything is spiritual, everything has a spirit, everything was brought here by the creator, the one creator. Some people call him God, some people call him Buddha, some people call him Allah, some people call him other names. We call him Tunkaschila... Grandfather.
We are here on earth only a few winters, then we go to the spirit world. The spirit world is more real than most of us believe.
The spirit world is everything. Over 95% of our body is water. In order to stay healthy, you've got to drink good water. ... Water is sacred, the air is sacred.
Our DNA is made out of the same DNA as the tree, the tree breaths what we exhale, we need what the tree exhales. So we have a common destiny with the tree.
We are all from the earth, and when the earth, the water, the atmosphere is corrupted, then it will create its own reaction. The mother is reacting.
In the Hopi prophecy, they say the storms and floods will become greater. To me, it's not a negative thing to know that there will be great changes. It's not negative, it's evolution. When you look at it as evolution, it's time, nothing stays the same. You should learn how to plant something. That is the first connection.
You should treat all things as spirit, realize that we are one family. It's never something like the end. It's like life, there is no end to life.”

HOMILY for the Feast of the Visitation
Zeph 3:14-18; Isa 12:2-6; Luke 1:39-56
Tumblr media
This year the feast of the Visitation falls within the Pentecost novena, that is to say, these nine days between the Lord’s Ascension and Pentecost Sunday, when the Lord had told his disciples to pray and prepare for the coming of the Holy Spirit. With this in mind, I thought it would be fitting to consider in brief the effect of the Holy Spirit’s activity in the event of the Visitation.
If you go over to our chapel of the Visitation, you’ll see the Holy Spirit, in the form of a dove, hovering actively over the depictions of Our Lady and St Elizabeth. For the Holy Spirit is, in fact, at the core of today’s Gospel: he is the divine cause of the prophetic words being uttered, and indeed the source of the invisible grace that is at work in Our Lady, St Elizabeth, and the infant St John the Baptist while in the womb of his mother. St Luke’s Gospel puts it like this: “As soon as Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the child leapt in her womb and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.” (Lk 1:41)
Why did the child leap in the womb? The Tradition of the Church is that the unborn St John the Baptist was, at that moment, sanctified by the grace of the Holy Spirit and so he already begins to act as the herald of the Lord, which is his divine vocation. So St Ambrose, for example, says: “Elisabeth first heard the word, but John first experienced the grace. She heard by the order of nature, he leaped by reason of the mystery. She perceived the coming of Mary, he the coming of the Lord.”
From this, we remember that the Holy Spirit is the sanctifier, and also the one who thus empowers us for our Christian vocation. For as St Paul says, God “saved us and called us with a holy calling, not in virtue of our works but in virtue of his own purpose and the grace which he gave us in Christ Jesus”. (2 Tim 1:9) The Holy Spirit, therefore, makes us holy and so enables us to fulfill our Baptismal calling as Christians. Thus, as we say in the Creed, the Holy Spirit is the “giver of life”, for to become holy is to be filled with divine life; to be holy is to live our Baptismal life to the full.
St John the Baptist, having been saved by the grace of God at this moment, therefore leaps with joy. The first reading from Zephaniah expresses the exultation of Israel when God comes to save his people. This happens today when the Saviour, carried in the womb of the Blessed Mother, comes to John the Baptist, the greatest of Israel’s prophets. Thus, salvation has come to Israel; the prophecy is fulfilled, and so the Herald, redeemed and sanctified in the womb of Elizabeth, leaps for joy. Mary, too, cries out with joy when she beholds the promises of God being fulfilled, and so she cries out: “my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour”. (Lk 1:47) For joy is one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit, and it is born of the deep recognition that God’s promises are being fulfilled; that God is with us to save and free us; that God is renewing the world by his grace. In those moments when the kingdom of God seems far away, when we might be overwhelmed by sin and confusion and despair, we our hope is imperilled by the hardship and desperation of this life, we need to call on the Holy Spirit. For as St Basil says: “the first fruit of the Spirit is peace and joy.”
As the Creed says that the Holy Spirit has “spoken through the prophets” so we can note in today’s Gospel that the Spirit inspires words of prophecy. This is not so much about foretelling the future, but about having the wisdom and insight to declare what God is doing here and now; it is having the foresight to see deeply into the present, and so to discern the activity of God’s Holy Spirit, God’s grace, at this time in human history. For god is always at work in our lives and in every age, but we just do not always have eyes to see it. Hence, St Elizabeth recognises the person of Jesus, the Saviour, in the womb of her cousin Mary. And Our Lady declares the salvation that has come – the great things that God is doing and which will overturn the sinful ways of our world – because of the Baby that is growing within her womb. Our Lady’s words, her Magnificat, have inspired and brought hope to generations of Christians, as they promise a world renewed and restored to justice and charity by the Just One, Jesus Christ.
Finally, this feast day and this mystery of the Visitation always brings to mind, for me, an essential truth, and one that our world today would ignore or even actively deny. We are reminded of the sanctity of the unborn child, of the great wonders that God works in the wombs of Mary and Elizabeth, and of the immeasurable value of mothers, both young and old, who graciously and lovingly accept the gift of life and who, in collaboration with God’s grace, take on the beautiful responsibility of motherhood. For this, they need faith, fortitude, hope, and above all charity - all gifts and virtues of the Holy Spirit. Today’s feast, therefore, is a wonderful herald for the great feast of Pentecost, and during these days of preparation, let us ask the Holy Spirit to come and visit us. May he fill us with the fire of God’s love just as he did for Elizabeth and Mary and John at Ein Kerem, in the hill country of Judah, all those years ago.

"For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
For when he received honor and glory from God the Father, and the voice was borne to him by the Majestic Glory, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased,” we ourselves heard this very voice borne from heaven, for we were with him on the holy mountain. And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts, knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation.
For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit."
2 Peter 1:16-21

Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you, searched intently and with the greatest care, trying to find out the time and circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when he predicted the sufferings of the Messiah and the glories that would follow.

The Ministry.
pen on paper.
The “ministry” as its called today is a quasi-religious institution that occupies a central-city tower which employs countless well-connected people and government officials who spread propaganda throughout the region. They’ve adopted methods and messages from past spiritual guidance officiants to collect members and funds, though the vast majority of “tributes” make their way to further marketing the organization and The Deacon rather than the spiritual exploration and personal maintenance services they sell the congregants.
Many consider it a pyramid scheme, but proponents argue that, despite apparent corruption and conflicts regarding funding, services, and evidence-based results, believers find true value and personal healing through their time with the ministry and point to overwhelmingly positive reviews and retention rates (though many question the validity of those numbers as well).
