My favorite thing when it comes to visiting Sanctuary Island is how “lifty” the place is. The air currents rising from the sea was always such a cool feature here & the fact you can gain height even without flapping was subtle, yet noticeable to me.

Haven’t made one of these in awhile, so here’s a current Sky version of our Altean princess/queen Allura! The mask is from Season of the Nine Colored Deer (so is the hair and the cape) and the cheek markings reminded me of the Altean ones so I went with it. The IAP cape from the season is shimmery and the crescent colors could represent the lions (I know there isn’t an orange lion but I guess if you stretch your imagination for this, orange could represent Yellow and the yellowish green could be, well, Green 😂; purple is for Black, the reddish pink for Red, and the light teal/turquoise blue for Blue). The manta outfit I believe is from Season of Sanctuary, it’s the closest outfit in this game that reminded me of her battle suit. She also had a staff (so I went with one from a constellation spirit in Golden Wasteland), so I gave her one here too. The tiara is from Season of Aurora, and the longer hair look I chose is from the current Days of Nature event.

A young child who loves light creatures goes on an adventure to meet as many as she can. Even if there are unforeseen road blocks.

Days of Nature Redesign

ignore how messy the drawings are, I made them late at night and was focusing more on concepts and less on precision (click on images for better quality)

First of all, the island with the Days of Nature guide would have a little cave/shelter where Light Whisperer and Talented Stonemason (or Tinkering Chimesmith) heal light creatures caught in nets or injured by the corruption. To earn some event tickets, you can gather some supplies for them. (Doing the vortex quest during the event now gives you bonus tickets instead of wax). You’re also able to purchase cosmetics from these two spirits as if they were traveling spirits.

They’ve left notes all over the wall on the corruption, which help teach the player about it

Two Abyss spirits - Anxious Angler and Bumbling Boatswain - are on a boat by the vortex (which is actually solid-looking instead of being made of the weird glass-looking stuff). On the boat are several piles of trash that they’ve pulled up, as well as some chat benches and a place that’s perfect for watching the Elder manta dive into the sea.

Like the Flight spirits, you can buy the cosmetics of the Abyss spirits.

Back on the main island, there’s some new permanent additions. Many of the areas with the little chairs now look more like a vacation campsite, with little tents and hammocks around a fire. Maybe they could also have some buckets of shells, a book left behind, or something similar. There would also be some murals on the walls telling the story of how Sanctuary Islands was once a haven for light creatures.

I also sketched an idea of maybe helping little baby turtles make it safely to the ocean 💕

The astounding amount of creatures here are the highlight of Sanctuary Island. I took about 30 minutes to myself to photograph some iconic species & play around with the camera’s functions. Here’s what I got to show for it.

For some of these like the elder manta & sea turtle, you really have to put in some effort to capture the perfect moment. This season really knows how to teach you patience, doesn’t it.
