Sujamma Sundas
Or better yet, Moth in a Jar Morndas
simply bc i am a time traveller
As tagged by the lovely @kiir-do-faal-rahhe <3 I will drop 3-5 bits of my Vilkas lover girlie too 🤲
A little bit of background lore:
Her name is Raseyl, she is Sirestia's second oldest child (all of the kids are adopted btw), and she is the biological older sister of Misunmar. The two of them are half-Falmer half-Atmoran, their bio father Ydhesar was Falmer, and their bio mother Halfan was Atmoran.
Onto the fun facts :>
Raseyl lived most of her childhood (up until age ten) in the Merethic Era before she (and infant Misunmar) were encased in ice and put into magical cryostasis.
As a result of the trauma from the sudden cryostasis, she is extremely paranoid and cannot sit idly if she doesn't have all relavent information within her grasp. So much so that she actually kind of scares Hermaeus Mora.
She is the oc that allows me to kill a certain non-canon character we'll call Bike Store. He is a creep in my fic and deserves what hell Sires gives him <3
Raseyl and Vilkas have a 3 year age gap, with Vilkas being the older of the two. They meet when she is 16 and he is 19, they don't get together until she's in her early 20's after they do some adventuring together <3
Raseyl has a thing where she has no magicka of her own but instead draws it in from the environment around her. This can come from plants, animals, people, anything that contains magicka, she'll siphon it out, even when she doesn't want or mean to. This does not help her paranoia. Because of this, she finds that people seem to always be tired/lethargic around her after prolonged exposure to her (apart from her freak ass family that are all some sort of weirdos). Thus she feels as though she'll never be able to settle anywhere.
At some stage I'll have some art of her that I will share (probably- hopefully). I need to draw her more 🤲
Tagging @pinessydr @firebastardextraordinaire and @out-of-mana kindly hand over an oc's lore 🫵👐👏
#my oc: Raseyl#pronounced: 'rah'-'sil'#she's one of my babygirls#and is very much my miraak's baby girl 🤲#skyrim#tes#the elder scrolls#tesblr

Cater's Name
If you have ever wondered why Cater’s name is being pronounced “Keito” in the game, while Ace’s seiyuu Yamashita pronounced it as “Kate” when speaking in English at Anime Expo 2023, it is because Cater, Keito and Kate are all ケイト in Japanese.
Unlike the English language, which can create any of a number of different sounds with the same letters, Japanese is a phonetic language: what you see is what you get.
Much like how English has foreign loan words like “rendezvous” and “tsunami,” Japanese also has foreign loan words from languages like German, French, English, and more.
When these words are adopted into Japanese they must adapt to the katakana alphabet which is a specific writing system for foreign loan words.
This tends to impact the way that the words are pronounced, which is common in any language that adopts loan words, like how the Japanese word “karate” can be pronounced “kur-ah-tee” in the US.
Some sounds don’t exist in Japanese, like “R” and “L.” As a result, certain compromises must be made to pronunciation with the adoption of new words.
Words that end in “R” are often changed to end in an “ah” sound, such as “Silver” becoming “Sil-bah.” (The “sih” sound in “Silver” also does not really exist, which is why it is being pronounced like, “she.”)
This means that “Cater” would technically be pronounced “Keita,” but (like all languages), there are no hard rules to katakana (ex: encore, another r-ending word like Silver, is pronounced “ahn-coh-ru” rather than “en-coh-rah”).
This is because “keito” is specifically the pronunciation of the gambling term, “cater.”
While outdated, “Ace,” “Deuce,” “Trey,” “Cater,” “Cinq” and “Sice” are all actual gambling terms, used for both cards and dice.
When these terms were imported to Japan, “cater” was assigned the pronunciation keito instead of keita, possibly because it was based on the pronunciation by English speakers rather than its spelling.
Hence the Japanese-language pronunciation of Cater’s name.
But that’s not all!
Another quirk of adopting words into Japanese is that all words must end with “a,” “i,” “u,” “e,” “o” or “n.”
This is why Riddle’s and Deuce’s names sound like they end in “u,” while Jade’s and Floyd’s names sound like they end in “o."
Thanks to various celebrities, the average Japanese-language speaker is more familiar with the first name “Kate” than we are with the outdated gambling term “cater,” and “Kate” is also pronounced ケイト (Keito) in Japan.
This is all explained explicitly in official Twisted Wonderland fan book, which says, “In English, this name is usually spelled as ‘Cate’ or ‘Kate,’ but Cater’s name is different, as it is referring to the number ‘4’ in card game terminology.”
From a Japanese-speaker’s perspective Cater’s name may look like a misspelling of the name “Kate,” which is a misunderstanding that this explanation in the fan book is possibly trying to clear up.
If you were wondering why Ace’s voice actor said “Kate” during the Anime Expo 2023 panel, that is why! He pronounces Cater as “Keito” in Japanese, but he was speaking in English, and he knows that “Keito” is Japanese for the English name “Kate,” so he adapted accordingly.
(The archived livestream of the Twisted Wonderland panel at Anime Expo 2023 is on Aniplex USA's YouTube channel, and this moment can be seen here!)
youtube
So what should you use when talking about Cater?
Language is all about communication, so if the person you’re talking to speaks English, “Cater” is the way to go.
But if you ever find yourself talking to Ace's VA Yamashita Seiichiro and say “Cater,” he might not understand who you mean, and you might want to go with “Keito” or “Kate” instead.

SPIDERVERSE OC
For @wolfjessedragon 's "Web of What If OC Search".
(And yes, this one is a lil bit wild at times...).
Alright now, from the top.
This is Tobias Tulper.
He's 15. And for the past year and a bit, he's been Denver, Colorado's one and only Spider-By-Proxy. From Earth 311619.
He can shoot very thick webs (akin to rope, sturdier than the usual spider's webbing) and can create web-like portals if he focusses enough. It doesn't let him travel through time or dimension - but, it let's him fight crime easier.
He is also quite fast and agile - though, not as strong as the typical Spiderperson.
His powers come from a necklace he wears, containing an Eldritch being that gives him his powers.
A spider-themed god Called Araven (pronounced "ah rah venn") that can only do good through the use of a human vessel.
A proxy.
Like Tobias.
(Picture of Araven, for reference).
He grew up with a single mother, and a twin brother (important for later...).
Toby is quite eccentric and can get out of hand. Which is why Araven and he butt heads at times.
(...he was also diagnosed with type 2 rapid cycling bipolar disorder after nearly throwing himself out a window, but details, details. It's okay, he's on meds now!).
Toby loves listening to music and hopes to be a radio host one day - he sometimes even listens to late night Bugle FM while he's trying to fight crime.
And one criminal in particular is his Scorpion...
His brother, Cody.
During one of their fights, he got so emotional that he accidentally tore off his brother's arm (not that he knew at the time).
His brother has the amulet of the other insectoid deity - Silbara (pronounced "sil bar ah"), the scorpion god. He made his tail out of metal, and created his own prosthetic arm (which is a lot cooler now, tbh). His tail shoots a highly corrosive acid, given to him by Silbara.
Both boys are quite lanky, and have grown a little bit of facial hair (but Toby's hasn't come in as easily... which is why he wears the mask).
They're also both mamas boys (think: "Suite Life Zack and Cody" for their relationship with their mother).
And a final piece of info:
Their mother had the amulets before both of them. She was adored by both the gods - and had their sons.
But... it came with a price: she had to seal them away, and hide the necklaces she once wore with pride until their heirs rediscovered them on their own.
...at a dig site she was working on.
And Tobias and Codiak have no idea that their fathers are now so close to them. Nor why they feel so connected to these deities.
Anyway, yeah. This is Tobias Tulper, the Spider-By-Proxy of Earth 311619. A mamas boy with a love for chili and a... strained relationship with his brother.

do you have a weirdly specific knowledge of one thing that you want to yell about but you never get the chance to? here is your chance i like when people infodump i learn new things and they get to talk about something they’re interested in - drew
ohohoho, yes
ok, so we've been creating a language since around... i think we were like 13 or so when we started making it¿ but it took us a long time to come up with one, and we really just wanted to be able to think out loud without people butting in every ten seconds with their opinions on our thought process or the fact that we were talking at all when it wasn't to anyone specific, so we had the genius idea to start by just taking the English language and flipping it around
now of course that sounds like that'd be the end of it all, right¿ i mean, you got a language that looks different from English, but is similar enough to it that you can read it, but here's the thing; the English language has always been rather... lacking to us/ we're always in search of new words so we can have a better chance of getting our point across, but there are some things that there just... isn't a word for/ so¡ we started creating new ones to suit our needs
some of them are as simple as dúmkamph, which just means a combination of dumbass and asshole, with a little bit of a fond twist to it/ some are more complicated, like luos'soror, which kind of very roughly translates to "bond-sister"¿ some of them are fairly similar to english, like t'sil t'sil, which is kind of like calling someone silly goose, or something along those lines/ notice: silly : t'sil t'sil
ok enough on the specific words, i wanna get into the grammar/
alright, so usually whenever you see something in backwards English, it looks something like this:
"Toidi uoy, yranigami m'I, em hcnup t'nac uoy. em hcnup, od annog uoy er'tahw¿"
in Kaeps'kcab, (yes that's the name we gave it because we're a smartass like that) it would go more like this:
"Tahw era uoy gni'og ot od, hcnup em¿ Uoy nac ton hcnup em, I ma yra'enigami, uoy toidi."
notice how it's the individual words that are flipped, not the entire sentence/ and, did you notice the difference in the formality of the grammar¿ we've been trying to develop this language as if it were it's own separate thing from english, meaning that we've been thinking along the lines of "well would this slang conjunction even work if there were native speakers using it¿" oftentimes, the answer is no/ so, words like "can't" don't turn into "t'nac" they turn into "nac ton"
this also takes the roots of words into account, turning words like "imaginary" into "yra'enigami" and not "yranigami"/ the root of the word is "imagine", and since unlike English you don't take letters out, but instead separate the suffixs and prefixes from the roots, you add "yra" to the beginning of the word, and separate it from "enigami" with a '
this also changes how things are pronounced, as instead of saying "ee-rai-nee-gah-mee" you say "ee-rah-eh-nih-gah-mee"
a couple more examples of this, with both words and names, and ones that use multiple '
gni'og
s'dees
tnuoc'er
s'Ligriv (yes, names are usually flipped as well/ you technically don't have to, but honestly it's kind of fun to have two different versions of your own name)
and there's a fuck ton more than that, but that's all i've got for now (plus we might've added a sound or two that aren't in the English language, which makes it kind of hard to teach them via writing alone/ maybe we'll record them some time¿)
#suroh answers#virgil speaks#drew#language#you wajted an infodump#*wanted#and by the stars you got a *fucking* infodump#that was fun#also ''yra'enigami'' is fun to say
