Okay but why did James suggest Sirius should make the change (into a dog) permanent?
And how long did Sirius try it out for before deciding that the tail was fine but the fleas were a nightmare?

stumbled across a blog sharing other ppl’s fanfiction and adding AI-generated photos as “moodboards” and I just want to say - don’t do that shit! AI generated photos are unethical in a plethora of ways, and they don’t even look that good! what you could do instead is search for other people’s work to use as your inspo, and i assure you’ll find so many artists to follow and admire in the process! (of course give credit if you know the artist’s name!)
or better yet - use this opportunity to learn a new skill! you could try drawing yourself! you may not be a natural - hell, i know i’m not, but i enjoy doing it anyway! if drawing isn’t your thing, maybe take up collage or printmaking or needlepoint - there’s literally SO MANY WAYS you can create fanwork (and i’m only talking about visual artwork here! the possibilities are endless) that don’t involve just feeding a few keywords to an algorithm that’s been trained with billions of other people’s work and doesn’t engage with your sense of creativity.
Please, I beg, AI “art” is not a hobby. It’s not creative and I don’t even like to think of it as art. Literally just pick up a pencil or something.

Jacob Elordi is a mix between James Potter and Remus Lupin, like I could fan cast him as both of them and it would make sense. I know that I’m right.

james potter x reader ★ 869 words
"Can you two stop giggling? People are staring."
The boys followed the tallest Marauder through the streets of muggle London, on their way to some American diner Peter had told them about. The purebloods couldn't help but 'ooh' and 'ahh' at all the unusual things they didn't have back in their world. A large neon sign came into view, the 'C' in 'Nick's Diner' flickering on and off. The loud jingle of the bell as they opened the door announced their arrival, only a few other patrons scattered around the diner. A voice from somewhere back in the kitchen called out.
"Welcome in, take a seat anywhere you'd like!"
They decided on a red leather booth near the back corner, a 'Taxi Driver' poster plastered right above the table. The black and white checkerboard flooring and jukebox made it feel like they were in that film 'Grease' their friend Lily makes them watch every other week.
"Evening boys, how's everyone doin'? My name is Y/N, can I get anyone started with a drink?"
James thinks he must've gotten hit by a muggle car crossing the street to get here because he believes he's seeing an angel in person. You just look so pretty, in your little red dress and white apron, curly hair tied up in a ponytail. Your smile. Merlin, he was going to need to get his eyes checked again after dinner because your smile was truly blinding. Were those wedding bells he was hearing?
"I think James over here is good, all that drool should last him a good week or two."
A hard slap on the back took him out of his daze. His eyebrows pinched together and he was about to say something back to Sirius when he realized he was drooling, quickly wiping his mouth with the sleeve of his sweater before turning back to you with red cheeks and a sheepish smile.
"A Coca-Cola for me, please."
You think the blushing boy before you couldn't get any cuter. You grinned and nodded, telling them you'd be back with their drinks as you strolled back to the kitchen.
Once James finally took his eyes away from your swinging ponytail, he was met with three shit-eating grins. He glares back but their smiles do not falter, causing James to scoff with furrowed eyebrows. "What."
Dinner goes by in a flash with the friends enjoying their meals and sneakily changing the music from the jukebox, wands hidden under the table. The boys notice they just so happen to have a very attentive waitress, your lovely self coming around to their table often. It was interesting that even after they'd finished eating, you would appear to fill their almost overflowing cups with water or drop off extra napkins. James did nothing but send a dopey grin your way, and he does consider talking to you but freezes the second your big brown eyes stare back at him.
Remus groaned as he watched his friend be so pathetically consumed by you, setting down his now empty mug. "Prongs, tell me. Are you going to ask her out or just sit there with your tongue out like Padfoot begging for someone to throw him a bone?"
"I do not beg!" The dog animagi sputtered, hitting the dirty blonde beside him, "Tell 'em Pete!"
"Piss off Moony, it's not that easy. She's perfect."
Tumblr media
Your shift was over, and truthfully it could've been worse. The table of four boys really made up for the more sour customers you had earlier in the day. The disappointment on your face was obvious when you had gone to clean their table and there was no number left behind on any of the napkins.
After finishing your closing duties you walked out the back door and turned the corner to find a large eagle owl perched upon the diner's bike rack. It wasn't too common to see owls in this area, but the shine of its feathers and well maintained claws tell you it's not from around here. Taking careful steps towards the bird, you offer your hand. It expanded its wings and flapped them twice at you before butting its head against the palm of you hand. You smiled and smoothed the beautiful creature's feathers back, now realizing there was an envelope sitting between the owl's talons. Taking the envelope and opening it up, you find a letter written to who you presumed to be yourself.
Dearest Y/N,
You have me infatuated with your beautiful smile and killer table waiting skills. I'm pretty funny and can show you a good time. Not like that though, unless you wanted t
What I mean to say is, I would throw all of England's tea in the ocean again if it meant I could win the honor of taking you out. On a date that is, not like killing you. I promise to make the night magical. I'll come by the diner next week with flowers and hopefully you don't punch me in the face for being a creep.
Yours,
James Potter
Smiling to yourself, you gave the owl one last pet and a thank you before pulling your wand out and disapparating home.

“Think we ought to check up on her?” James asks halfway through the film.
Remus doesn’t need to ask who he’s talking about. “Why?”
“It’s getting late.” James frowns out the window, where darkness has well and truly settled. “She’s never out this late. Wouldn’t we be pretty shit roommates if she was dead in a ditch somewhere and we didn’t even know?”
“What the hell do you plan to do, Prongs,” Sirius drawls, “send out a search party? It’s hardly eleven.”
James looks like he’s thinking a search party’s not such a bad idea. “She said she was going to her mate’s place, and I’m pretty sure it’s book club night. Maybe they’re just going late.”
Sirius scoffs. “You mean to say that on a Saturday night, she got so caught up talking about books that her meeting ran long?” He shakes his head, but his smile is fond. “What a fuckin’ nerd.”
Remus cocks an eyebrow, jutting his chin toward the television. “We’re in on a Saturday night. What does that make us?”
James laughs as Sirius huffs, crossing his arms as he leans back against the couch. “Least we’re not talking about books.”
By the time they finish their film, each of the boys is dead tired. Still, no one argues when James proposes starting another, an unspoken current of worry keeping them in the living room as the night wears on with no sign of your return.
A couple hours later, James and Sirius have both fallen asleep, James drooling slightly on the top of Sirius’ head, when Remus hears keys in the door. Sirius stirs as your keys twist this way and that. There’s a stream of muffled curse words before you finally get it, the lock sliding free and the door swinging open.
“Merlin,” Sirius breathes at the sight of you, rousing James. Remus is inclined to agree.
You’re in a tiny little dress that Remus would have never been able to picture in your closet, the bodice tight and the hem barely skimming past your buttcheeks. You teeter in the door on high heels like a newborn fawn, unphased as if that’s the way you’ve been getting around all evening. You curse quietly when your shoes make a clacking sound against the floor, reaching down to slide them off. Remus can tell from the way you flex your feet that they’ve been hurting you. You start toward your bedroom cautiously, on tiptoe, and it’s a testament to your unusual state that you don’t notice the boys until you’ve nearly passed them on the couch.
“Oh,” you say, still quiet as though you’re afraid to disturb some unseen sleeper. “You’re up. Hi!”
A laugh bubbles up out of Sirius. “Hi, gorgeous,” he says. “How was your night?”
“Ugh.” You grin, shoulders drooping as your eyes go wistful. “It was amazing. How was yours?”
“Not bad.” Sirius can’t seem to stop smiling, and James is the next of them to find his voice.
“Angel,” he says, blinking as though he’s not quite sure he’s actually woken up, “are you drunk?”
You go shy, and Remus’ heart warms with incandescent, aching fondness at the sweet sheepishness that touches your smile. “Just like, a tiny little bit,” you giggle, like you think you might get in trouble and are thrilled with your rebellion.
James shakes his head at you, mystified, and Remus scoots over, patting the spot next to him on the couch. “C’mere, love, talk to us for a bit.”
You’re happy to comply, though not quite as happy as Sirius when you stumble on your way over and he gets to put his hands on your hips, guiding you to a sitting position. You cross your legs under you, and James flushes as each of the boys try to look anywhere other than your exposed underwear. You lean your shoulder into Remus slightly; he leans back.
“What’d you get up to tonight?” He raises his eyebrows, delighting when you blush. Your lipstick has worn down to the liner, and you’ve got some sort of dark makeup smudged beneath your eyes. It takes everything in him not to brush his finger under your lashes and fix it. “We thought it was book club night.”
“No, we pushed that ‘til tomorrow,” you say. “Tonight was real club night.” You let out a little laugh, and Remus grins more because of that than the joke itself.
“I didn’t know you liked going out,” James says. “You haven’t done it in all the time we’ve lived here.”
You make an incredulous sound. “Sure I have.”
James’ eyebrows shoot straight up to his hairline. “When?”
You shrug. “I mean, not all the time. Once a month, maybe.” Your lips curve upward in a look Remus has never seen on your face before. It’s making it difficult to breathe. “What, you just always assume I’m in my room if you don’t see me leave? S’that it?”
“Sorta,” James mumbles, and Sirius grins at you, wrapping an arm around your shoulder and stealing you from Remus.
“We’ll be more careful not to underestimate you in the future, sweet thing,” he promises, eyes half-lidded in that way that always reduces you to a blushing, stuttering mess.
You don’t seem affected this time. “Good,” you reply, batting your lashes at him. Sirius blanches.
James laughs at him. “Alright, I’ve got to see you in action,” he declares. “If we go out next weekend, will you come with us?”
You tilt your head consideringly. “Sure,” you say, “but I don’t think many guys are going to come up to me if I’m with you lot. You’ll scare them all away.”
Sirius scoffs. “Yeah, I’d fucking hope so.”
“That’s alright, love,” Remus says. “We’ll find some way to make it up to you.”

Hello, author-san! How are you? Could I please request some angst for the poly!marauders, where R is someone full of tattoos or piercings but is smart, a sweetheart, golden retriever coded, and Lily is their friend. Lily knows about their infatuation with the boys. Being a great friend, Lily wants to set them up, but they're a bit uncertain about R because of their tattoos. Then one night, R overhears them talking in the common room with Lily and voices out their opinions regarding R, causing R to become insecure and try to hide it. You can continue however you like! Angst with a happy ending if it's okay! 🥺
Thank you, author-san!

It was like you could hear their words on repeat as you raced up the stairs. What hurt the most is that you knew that some people would judge, but you hadn’t expected it from them.
“I just don’t know about 'em, Lils.” James winced. “Like they seem nice, but you know about people who choose to look at that…” He trailed off.
“I’m sure they’re not all bad.” Sirius cut in, clearly uncomfortable with the conversation. “But Prongs does have a point.”
“It’s just the impulsivity of it all.” Remus reasoned. “Like if you’re making rash choices like that, what else would you do.”
That was when you left your hiding spot in the stairs and ran back to your dorm. You could hear Lily’s ‘I’m so fucking done with you being stupid’ voice as you trailed away, making you smile at the knowledge that you had such a good friend.
But you had heard enough. They had clearly made their minds up about you. Besides, you knew your appearance was an… acquired taste, to say the least, and you couldn’t expect them to be with someone they weren’t attracted to. You didn’t think you looked that odd, but maybe your perception was skewed. No matter whose perception was more accurate, they clearly didn’t particularly like you, and it was probably best to keep your distance for now, at least until they really got to know you.
You knew that your appearance didn’t really match your personality. People often assumed you were rude, a slacker, confrontational, or even hateful. But the opposite was true in fact. You always made good marks, you were friends with loads of people, always trying to be as open as possible. And yeah, some people were intimidated at first, but they usually warmed up very quickly.
Apparently those three, the three you wanted the approval of the most, had not been as warm about you as you thought.
You crawled into bed and curled into yourself, trying to get a few hours of sleep before breakfast.
James yawned loudly, blinking his eyes rapidly to get rid of the sleepy, fuzzy film coating them. Him and his boyfriends had been up all night, getting lectured literally until the sun came up.
He had to admit, it was for the best. All three boys had gone to bed, feeling thoroughly corrected. Even slipping into shame.
“What the hell is wrong with you three?” Lily whisper-yelled. “James, you are the LAST person to say anything about appearances. Remember when I had to go around convincing people you hadn’t become mean after your growth spurt in fourth year? Just because you were big and scary and you hadn’t realized how you were coming across?” She scolded, before turning her head to the mouse-haired boy sitting by the fire. “And you,” She seethed. “You have no clue if her choices were ‘rash’ or not. I’ve heard plenty of rumors about your appearance, people saying similar things about you. About your ‘aggression’ just because they don’t know what’s going on with you.” She snapped her head over to Sirius, her fiery hair flipping around from the movement. “And Sirius, you’re just overcompensating because you’re jealous! You’re not fooling anyone, you would look like that in an instant if you could. You’re just too scared to do it.”
Sirius played with his thumbs, not able to dispute the accusations. None of the boys could actually. Lily could tell, she was satisfied with her work.
“I love you three buggers,” She pressed a friendly kiss to each of their cheeks as she stormed upstairs. “You just need to stop being such idiots.”
Sirius didn’t think anyone could change personalities that fast, but it seemed all three boys had woken up different people. That morning they had all just nodded to each other, acknowledging that their opinions were very different than they had been 24 hours ago and all walked shamefacedly down to breakfast. Sirius kept pushing his eggs around his plate, too busy staring at you to take a bite. You looked a lot different today. Your hair was ruffled in front of your face, hiding the metal glinting on your nose and eyebrow. You also had long sleeves and pants on, covering the ink detailing your skin. You still hadn’t waved at them, or even acknowledged the boys’ existence. Usually, you would be bouncing over to them, talking about the weather or whatever was on your mind at the moment. Sirius missed it if he was honest with himself. He was disappointed, he had been excited to show you his outfit. He crafted it with you in mind, teasing his hair up extra and being a bit more outlandish with his top, even stealing Marlene’s varnish to paint his nails.
Remus missed your interest in the latest book he had read. You always had so many interesting questions and you listened so intently. He missed how you played with the hoop in your septum as you nodded along to his plot summaries. You were always so patient and careful, it made his heart crack.
James was equally distraught. He had always prided himself on being open and friends with everyone, and he had considered you his friend, which just made him feel worse. He knew that stereotyping people never led to anything good, especially when someone's personality was completely ignored and replaced with caricature. Yes, you did look intimidating, but he actually liked it. It accentuated how soft your personality actually was. You were like a big dog that everyone was terrified of, but in reality was scared of butterflies and just wanted to love everyone. He laughed sadly, catching the other two boys' attention as he stared longingly at you. All he wanted to do was go over there, but you were completely ignoring them, so he figured it was best to just not bother you and continue on with his breakfast.
You were being equally as forlorn, continually sneaking glances over at the boys. They looked quiet and tired, but no less handsome. You felt sick, moving to leave your breakfast and all but run to the library. You needed to study anyway, you had become so infatuated that you were ignoring your classes. You had barely made it down the corridor before you heard three sets of panicked footsteps, quickly catching up to you. You tried to walk faster, but unfortunately Remus had very long legs and he briskly made it in front of you, trapping you in. He was looking flushed, amber eyes focusing on you way too much for comfort.
“Y/N,” He sounded out of breath. You fixed your face down and back, away from their gaze. You stopping had allowed the other two the opportunity to catch up, and soon you were face-to-face with all three of the people who apparently disliked you, but to your dismay, you were still completely attached to.
“You guys okay?” You asked, as kindly as ever but far quieter than they were used to.
“We’re fine, lovely.” James said, confused. “Are you okay?”
“I’m good.” You muttered, shifting your feet.
“Babe,” Sirius scoffed. Your heart jumped at the honorific, but you quickly scolded yourself. Sirius just called everyone that. You had heard what he, what all three of them had said last night. “You ran from there like bat outta’ hell.” He said like you were being ridiculous.
“And you haven’t spoken to us all day.” Remus cut in before you could respond.
“It’s only seven.” You mumbled.
“Still odd.” James quipped, moving ever so slightly closer to you. “You’re not okay.” He said, with enough finality that you gave up the act all together. They really weren’t going to make this easy on you. They said all those things last night, but they were still going to put you through the misery of having to listen to them say all those things directly to you.
You sighed dejectedly, starting to pick your nails. “Look okay,” You tore the words from the back of your throat. “I know that you don’t like me or don’t think I’m nice or whatever. You don’t have to talk to me, it’s okay.” You did your best to give them a reassuring smile, even managing for water to stay out of your eyes, but their expressions didn’t make it easy. Sirius cursed and pinched the bridge of his nose, James looked like a kicked puppy, and Remus was hiding his eyes from you. You started to walk away, but you were blocked in.
“Shit, you heard last night?” Sirius winced. You nodded painfully, looking back down at your shoes. The silent tension was so thick you felt it suffocating you. James was the first to do anything, wordlessly striding over to pull you into a bone-crushing hug. You stumbled from the shock, easing into him accidentally, but you made no moves to tense away. You limply wrapped your arms around his waist.
“I’m so sorry, angel.” He said, panicked. “I was so stupid, I- I never should’ve said it I don’t know what I was even thinking.” He pulled you tighter to him, enough that you were worried of your feet leaving the ground.
“I’m sorry too.” Sirius said, much more morosely than usual. “Never should’ve said those things, and you never should've heard it either.”
“We’re all sorry.” Remus said firmly. “We all know better, we should’ve known not to think that way. It’s awfully closed-minded. You’re our friend, we should’ve acted like it.”
“It’s okay.” You squeezed out.
“No.” Sirius said sharply. “It’s not okay. I don’t know if you heard what Lily said back, but she pointed out a lot of things, and I can promise that we don’t think that way anymore.”
“Please, please forgive us, baby. We were so wrong. You’re so kind and smart and funny and gorgeous an-” James was rambling on and on.
“Jamie, it’s okay. I know you’re sorry.” You giggled at his panicked tone. “Can you uh- you’re kinda crushing me.”
“Shit! Sorry.” He released you quickly, but not before slicking your hair out of your face. You just laughed, feeling ten times lighter.
“We’re okay.” You reassured. “I forgive you all, it hurt, but it seems like you are all beating yourselves up enough.”
“Jus’ feel bad.” Remus grabbed you unexpectedly, tugging you into his arms. He wasn’t squeezing you like James, but rather greedily absorbing your touch. This felt like a big deal, you almost never saw Remus hold anyone.
“Don’t feel bad.” You pleaded. “Everything’s fine now.” You rubbed his back in a way you hoped was soothing. You felt him relax in your arms.
“Okay stop hogging them.” Sirius tugged Remus out of the way, making him grunt in dissatisfaction. (You pretended to not notice the sneaky kiss Sirius pressed to the taller boy’s knuckles.) “It’s my turn.” He grabbed you with loving aggression.
“I wasn’t hogging.” Remus quipped.
“Yeah, you were.” Sirius sassed. “Besides, I was the biggest idiot. I need to give the biggest cwtch.” His reasoning was flawed, but you settled into him nonetheless.

♡ ︎ꜱʜɪᴘ: poly!Marauders + Lily x muggle!Reader
Tumblr media
The haunted house loomed over the darkened street like a castle out of a horror film. You had been here before—multiple times, in fact—so the spooky, creaky mansion didn’t faze you anymore. But your partners? Oh, that was a different story.
Lily stood beside you, eyes glinting in amusement as she looked at her boyfriends. Remus was calm and collected as ever, but the other three? Well, they had spent the last ten minutes bragging about how “nothing in a muggle haunted house could possibly scare them.”
“Don’t worry, it’s not that scary,” you reassured them with a grin as you stood at the entrance. Your hand brushed against Sirius’s for a moment, and you could feel his nervous energy, despite the bravado he’d been putting on.
“Please,” Sirius scoffed, “this will be nothing. Right, Prongs?”
James adjusted his glasses, puffing out his chest. “Right. It’ll be fine. We’ve faced far worse.”
Peter, standing between them, gave a tentative smile, his eyes darting nervously toward the shadowy door. “Yeah… piece of cake.”
Remus chuckled softly, and Lily shook her head with a knowing smirk. You caught her eye, both of you silently preparing yourselves for the inevitable.
With a deep breath, you led the group inside.
The first few moments were quiet. Dim lights flickered overhead as the group walked cautiously down the narrow corridor. A few eerie moans echoed through the air, and Sirius rolled his eyes. “Is this it? A few spooky noises? Pfft.”
But then the floor creaked loudly behind him, and the group froze. James was the first to whirl around, his wand hand twitching out of habit, though you’d insisted they leave the magic behind. “Did you hear that?”
“I’m sure it’s nothing,” Remus said, his tone calm. “Just part of the experience.”
But then a loud BANG reverberated through the room, and Peter yelped, stumbling back into Sirius. “Bloody hell!”
Sirius grabbed his shoulders. “Calm down, Wormtail. We’ve got this.”
You bit back a laugh, knowing full well what was coming. A shadowy figure darted across the far end of the hallway, and James immediately stepped closer to you, his bravado starting to crack.
You muffled your chuckle as you looked at James with a serious face, "Jamie, don't worry, it's not that scary."
“Uh, I’m not scared. Just… staying close.”
“Sure, sure,” you teased.
Lily’s grin widened, but she stayed quiet, clearly enjoying the spectacle.
As you reached the next section, the lights dimmed further, and eerie fog began to curl around your feet. A low growl filled the air, and before anyone could react, a figure dressed as a grotesque zombie lunged out from the darkness, arms outstretched.
“Okay, I lied. RUN!” you shouted, barely keeping the laughter out of your voice as you sprinted forward with Lily and Remus.
It was chaos.
James let out a loud yell, grabbing Peter by the back of his shirt. “We’re under attack! Go, go, go!”
Sirius, eyes wide, grabbed Peter’s other arm and pushed him forward. “Prongs, grab Peter and RUN!”
Peter was practically being dragged by the other two as they scrambled down the hallway, their shouts and exclamations filling the air.
“Sirius, this is your fault!” Peter cried out, voice cracking with panic.
“Why is it my fault?” Sirius shot back, barely avoiding another costumed ghoul who popped out of a hidden corner.
“You said it wouldn’t be scary!”
Meanwhile, you, Lily, and Remus had stopped at the next corner, standing calmly as you watched the chaos unfold. The actors who were supposed to be scaring you all now stood frozen, bewildered by the sheer volume and drama of the Marauders. Even the man in the zombie costume hesitated, glancing at his fellow actors as if to say, What’s going on?
Lily’s laughter finally bubbled out. “Oh, Merlin… they’re scaring the actors!”
Remus grinned, arms crossed casually as he watched his friends shriek and sprint away from another costumed ghost. “It’s honestly impressive how much they overreact.”
You wiped away a tear of laughter, your sides aching. “Should we go save them?”
Lily smirked. “Nah, let’s see how long they can keep this up.”
The haunted house staff looked genuinely worried now, the loud commotion drawing them out from their hiding spots. One of them, a tall man with a skeleton mask, cautiously approached you and whispered, “Uh… are your friends okay?”
You grinned. “Oh, they’ll be fine. They’re just a little dramatic.”
A piercing scream echoed from up ahead, followed by James shouting, “WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE!”
Sirius’s voice rang out next, just as loud, “If we don’t make it, I want you all to know—IT WAS PETER’S FAULT!”
Peter sputtered indignantly, still being pulled along as they ran deeper into the haunted house. “WHAT?”
As another shadow loomed overhead, Sirius screamed, “NOPE, NOPE, NOPE! WE’RE DONE!”
You, Remus, and Lily casually followed them out, still composed and calm as ever.
James saw you first. “What took you so long?! We’ve been fending for ourselves!”
You smirked. “You seem to be doing just fine.”
Sirius glared at the spooky décor. “This place is a death trap.”
Peter catching his breath, glared at you like you had set him up. "You could've warned us, you know."
“I did,” you reminded him, trying not to laugh outright. “You’re the ones who didn’t listen.”
Lily crossed her arms, smirking. “I think next time, the boys should stick to ghost stories around the fireplace.”
James was still shaking his head in disbelief. “I can't believe I was bested by a Muggle haunted house.”
Remus chuckled, throwing his arm over James' shoulder. “Next time, we’ll get you some ghost-repelling spells."
"NEXT TIME?? When did you get the idea that there was going to be a next idea?" Sirius shrieked.
James threw his hands up in defeat. “You are never dragging us into anything like that again!”
“Oh, we’ll see,” you teased.
Lily nudged you playfully, whispering, “Next year, we should definitely bring them back.”
You nodded with a mischievous grin.
