Exactly, Anon. Exactly. This is why the Ivy League Universities being turned into Hamasnik terrorist bases is so horrifying. Especially with Jew-hating students attacking Jewish students and professors on campus, with the Universities' sanction. The Universities could shut these Jew-hate riots down. The fact that they don't shows that they want them to continue. They're trying to chase away the Jewish students and professors from these schools. That's always the first step. That's what the Nazis did first, too.
This article is taken from the US Holocaust Memorial Museum website. I highly recommend that everyone read the whole article. But even if you read the first paragraph, you'll see the parallels to what is happening on Ivy League campuses today:
.
After Adolf Hitler was appointed German Chancellor in January 1933, the new Nazi government began an effort to completely reorder public and private life in Germany.
The Nazi regime quickly targeted German universities—among the most elite in the world at the time—for restructuring according to Nazi principles. While the Nazi Ministry of Education initiated reforms, local Nazi organizations and student activists worked to bring Nazi ideals to German campuses. These forces, along with increasing antisemitism under Nazi rule, transformed everyday life at German universities. Throughout this period, students, faculty, and staff made individual decisions that both upheld and opposed Nazi ideology.
With the passage of the "Law for the Restoration of the Professional Civil Service" in 1933, most Jewish professors in Germany were dismissed from their positions. Others, such as Professor Eugen Mittwoch, were able to keep their posts temporarily only due to the political value of their research. After purging Jewish and "politically undesirable" faculty, the regime then targeted the student body with the "Law Against Overcrowding in Schools and Universities." As German authorities continued to "Aryanize" German universities, Jews increasingly lost the opportunity to teach or study. Many non-Jewish Germans sought to benefit from their persecution.
The daily business of university life continued in the wake of these new policies, but political concerns increasingly influenced the way professors and students worked and studied. The practice of denunciation, as demonstrated by the "Request for the Investigation of Professor Hans Peters," illustrates the danger posed to both students and faculty if they failed to follow new ideological norms. Those willing to voice support for the new regime—whether out of enthusiasm or practicality—often received promotions or other rewards. Meanwhile, many others quietly accepted the new policies and passively benefited from the persecution of their Jewish peers. Very few, such as the small student group in Munich known as the White Rose, took any significant action to resist the Nazi dictatorship.
The Nazi government and its supporters manipulated several aspects of the country's traditional university system to turn German higher education into a crucial source of support for the new regime. For example, the German student population had been largely male long before the Nazi rise to power, and German campuses were dominated by fraternities. Those organizations maintained traditional military discipline and dress codes, and their alumni groups exercised significant political power both before and after 1933. Fraternities—often working with the Student Council and Nazi Student League—served as a powerful and violent force for implementing Nazi principles at universities, often going beyond the party platform in their radicalism. A Report on the Camaraderie House for Female Students of Göttingen shows how Nazi student groups used the format of traditional student organizations to train both men and women to become the next generation of Nazi leaders.
Although the regime could rely on many committed student activists, the Third Reich also sought the support of German professors to lend legitimacy to their policies. Because German universities were state institutions, professors' academic careers became vulnerable to the whims and wishes of the Nazi state. While only a small minority of professors had been Nazi Party members before 1933, several prominent professors quickly voiced their support for the Third Reich. In the new German university, political loyalty was valued over academic ability in the assessment of students and in the selection and promotion of professors. Authorities infused university classrooms with Nazi ideology—as shown in the document, "Foundation of the Advanced School of the German Reich". But prioritizing politics over academics affected the quality of German higher education.
Nevertheless, professors—even enthusiastic supporters of the new regime—often spoke out against some aspects of Nazi policy. The case of Eduard Kohlrausch shows how his opposition to student-led book burnings caused his removal from the university administration. Dissent against individual policies, however, did not give rise to any concerted resistance movements. German universities as a whole formed a solid base of support for the Nazi regime, contributing valuable knowledge to the development of technology for the war effort as well as logistical support for the Holocaust.
The Nazification of universities overwhelmed the daily lives of students with new requirements, including mandatory lectures, physical exercises, labor duties, and political assemblies. Many students resented those requirements, even if they supported the Nazi Party. In Heidelberg, for example, where the daily life of students was dominated by political instruction and mandatory physical training, large numbers of students withdrew from the university in search of other educational opportunities. As illustrated in the "Memo Regarding Maria-Elisabeth Koch," students also showed varying degrees of enthusiasm for the labor service that was often required of them in territories occupied by Nazi Germany.
The Nazi government's project of remaking German universities was broadly successful, but it produced unintended consequences. The quality of education suffered significantly as classes were regularly cancelled for political assemblies and students' schedules became filled with ideological and paramilitary training. Moreover, purging Jewish faculty deprived German universities of valuable expertise. Within a few years, many observers in Germany and abroad became deeply skeptical about the quality of German higher education in the Third Reich. Propaganda efforts such as the Carl Schurz tour for American professors and students—documented with a slickly produced videodid not prevent protest. The 550th-anniversary celebration of Heidelberg University met with opposition in Europe, even while prominent American universities such as Harvard accepted invitations.
With the defeat of the Third Reich in 1945, Allied forces occupying Germany began a long-term effort to remove the influence of Nazi ideology in German society. Many German academics who made significant contributions to the Nazi war effort fled to the United States, where they lived comfortable lives and their expertise was highly valued by American universities and the US military. In postwar Germany, many faculty and students who had benefited from the Nazis' discriminatory policies without being especially vocal or enthusiastic supporters of the regime sought to cast their dissent or their silence as forms of political resistance to obscure their own complicity. Although many Germans denied having supported the Nazi regime, antisemitism persisted in postwar Germany. The case of Hermann Budzislawski shows the difficulties encountered by the relatively few German Jews who decided to return to Germany after World War II.
Sources in this collection document the choices facing students and faculty pursuing their everyday lives in the shadow of Nazism and the Holocaust. Over the course of this period, as antisemitic discrimination escalated to mass murder, the higher education system proved to be a source of support—rather than opposition—to the party's project of remaking German society.
#jumblr#jewish history#the goyim are trying to speedrun the 1930s#goyim have always naively asked “How could the Nazi regime have murdered 6 million Jews??” - and now they're giving us the answer#Jew-hate makes you stupid#NOTE: I report and block antisemites. pleaser (2) - gojo satoru ; geto suguru
pairing: gojo satoru/reader/geto suguru
summary: You wish someone would have told you how lonely college would be. Classmates and other students outside the newspaper staff keep you at arm's length. People tend to give you a wide berth. It's no big deal - for a journalist, you are laughably not a people person. Small talk makes you want to crawl out of your skin. Relationships are tedious. People are finicky and prone to lying. Unreliable. Getting close to the star players on the university's basketball team was only supposed to be a means to an end. And then it's a little more than that.

Then
“Your eyes will get stuck like that.”
Your editor-in-chief is not at all surprised to find you sulking. Shoulders slumped, arms crossed as you glare petulantly across the foyer of the student union. You don’t play aloof very well.
She stands shoulder to shoulder with you and follows your gaze.
In the distance, two basketball players donning signature sky blue jerseys draw a crowd near the student government office. They stand out among the sea of milling students like skyscrapers. The swath of unnaturally white - surely he wasn’t born like that? - hair on the tallest one is even less helpful in helping him blend in. A few passerby stutter in their steps trying to catch a glimpse of their faces. The young men have their backs to where the pair of you observe, in the middle of addressing the small audience. A mix of student government and faculty, the source of your ire stands amongst them. Kento Nanami stands at the head of the crowd with his smartphone in one hand and a tape recorder in the other held just slightly above the sea of heads. His blond hair and crisp blue button-up make him easy to pick out from the gang of suits.
When snark doesn’t draw your full attention, Utahime calls your name instead. “You look like you’re about to cry.”
Furrowing your lips, your frown deepens. “Who the fuck even carries around a real tape recorder anymore? Does he not have the app on his phone?”
Your pseudo-boss shoulder checks you. Never one to miss an opportunity to play morality police. “Don’t be obnoxious,” she admonishes in what you think she thinks is her gentlest tone. “Not everybody has a smartphone.”
“He’s holding one, Utahime,” you snark back.
The animosity catches you both off guard. You’re not typically one to be confrontational. In all of your years on the university’s newspaper staff, you’d suppose you’re akin to a fly on the wall. A floater, you’ve moved from section to section at the dismissal of the lead editors each year. It wasn’t that you were an incompetent writer so much as it was that no topic seemed to really stick with you. Student leadership wouldn’t let you go if they could help it - it was easier to keep and train staff members than to recruit. But they would never promote you - there was always somebody who fit the bill just a little bit better, who wrote with a little more flare. You were nearing the end of your senior year anyway. It was too late to even consider.
You’ve never really minded - never minded anything at all, really. The fact that almost all of the leadership was a year younger than you. Or the fact that you were consistently assigned fluff writing. That you had been skipped time and time again for any chance at covering anything more important than the carpets in the library being updated from green to gray, or minor changes to a dining hall’s dietary restrictions.
A perfect passive participant on staff, you follow all the rules. Do every story they assign you. More often than not, it’s the ones nobody else wants to bother with. They offer you some sort of loose camaraderie in return; a pat on the shoulder, a lukewarm invite to be a plus one to a holiday party. All of the necessary tools for social survival in college. The news, cultures, and opinion columns shuffled you around semester by semester like a cumbersome stage prop. Comfortably standing in the shadow of your peers. You never ask for anything.
So you decide to be a little nicer to Utahime, to whom all this attitude must be coming out of left field.
Never taking your eyes off the crowd, you ask with a little less bite, “Did they tell you when the press conference is yet?”
They , as in the athletics department, had been keeping zip tight on the details of the university basketball team’s newest arrivals since they had touched down in the States over the weekend. The pair of you watch as the shorter one, a young man (albeit still a full head taller than most of his audience) with black gauges and his hair pulled into a bun, delivers a short comment that causes a laugh to ripple through their onlookers. You think you see even Nanami, of all people, crack a smile. It’s hard to tell for sure from this distance.
It wasn’t unusual for the staff on the student newspaper to share tips and ideas or track events on campus together, but it’s irregular for you to be among them. There was no need to ask for help when your stories were practically written out for you. Today however, you had kept a keen eye out for your fellow writers on campus, ear to the ground all morning as you sought out some kind of - any kind of - hook that could solidify your claim to what was sure to be one of the most memorable feature story of the year: the athletics department's annual exchange student program.
“Do they allow players to wear gauges on the court?”
“You’re asking me a lot of questions for somebody that’s not assigned to this beat.” Utahime sighs. The awkward moment rolls off her shoulders with an ease you’re becoming familiar with. “I’m not giving you a press pass.”
“I - okay?” You wilt a little, shoulders slumped as Utahime takes the next question right out of your mouth. “I didn’t even say anything. That’s not even what I asked.”
“You didn’t have to. I can see it all over your face-,” You duck the graze of her knuckle as she moves to brush a faux tear, but the unimpressed look on her face remains. “But no. I haven’t heard anything from the coaches yet.”
You try and fail to hide your disappointment. You refuse to pout in front of your boss. Utahime had a softer spot for you than most of your fellow staff members - as a writer who had been on staff for so long with little to no promotion or department to call home in all four years of your college career, whispers of questions around the validity of keeping you on staff started to circulate well into the winter semester.
“Why were you so interested in doing this feature anyway? I got the feeling you didn’t like writing for this kind of stuff.” You never ask for favors; she tells you as much. “I’m just surprised, is all.”
From your peripheral, Utahime looks at you curiously, a hand on her chin. Maybe it was because she was a year younger than you, and pitied the disposition she found you in after being elected into the chief position. But even that softness only went so far.
You shake your head, still watching the crowd from across the lobby. The taller basketball player, the white-haired guy, sticks out among the crowd like a dandelion, bending and swaying to an invisible breeze while he crowds into the space of his teammate. You crinkle your nose - his posture is surprisingly terrible.
“Kind of stuff?”
“Y’know, just - sports? Your strong suits have been more like…like, what kinds of water bottles have been popular on campus! Oh, or that listicle you did of all of the best fall-themed soundtracks-,”
“-that we published in the spring -,”
Utahime waves you off. “That’s not the point.”
She launches into a reassuring ramble, throwing a hand up when you don’t start to look any more appeased. The motion seems to catch Nanami’s attention from across the foyer’s open floor. He doesn’t crack a smile, but waves at the pair of you with his phone-holding hand, polite as ever. You wave back. When he turns away, your pout melts into a grimace. Tuning Utahime out, your eyes wander back to the head of the crowd, only to choke on your gasp. You’ve also inadvertently caught the attention of one of the exchange students - and he looks pissed .
From where he stands, the white-haired wonder boy has twisted the whole top half of his body to bless you with the ugliest look of contempt you’ve ever had the displeasure of witnessing in your short life. He only rights himself when his dark-haired teammate corrals his focus back to the congregation ahead of them with a gentle hand on his shoulder. It’s enough of an interruption to make you turn your whole back on the entire debacle in embarrassment.
Utahima continues to do her best impression of placating you, hands folded above her chest as she pleads. “- And, you know, it would just be a lot easier for everybody, really, to give this to somebody who already knows if players are allowed to wear gauges on the court, and other frivolous shit like that instead of wasting time asking me.”
You make a noise like a laugh through your nose, thinking of what she considers your strong suits. “Okay.”
Out of the corner of your eye, you see the objects of your interest begin to make their way out of the front of the building, enticing their crowd of university staff and students along with them. An underclassman tries to give the white-haired man a high-five in passing. He dismisses him with a shrug. Your resolve wavers. You follow all the rules. You never ask for anything.
“Look,” Utahime begins in a tone that makes you think uh oh. “It’s not that I don’t think you’re a capable writer. I hated turning you down so publicly at the staff meeting, and there’s no doubt that your contributions to the paper have been -,” she searches for a word “- impactful to our student body. But I need somebody who’s going to do this feature, um, quietly. I mean look how much attention those two are drawing and it’s not even time for lunch yet.”
Two girls run straight into each other, phones clattering to the ground, their eyes glued to the spectacle making its way out of the building. You can’t help but snicker, a little less forlorn. Requesting to cover the feature story for the exchange students had been the first time you had stuck your neck out for yourself, only to be succinctly rejected in front of your peers. Utahime hadn’t even the decency to pretend to hesitate. At least you’re not the only one making a fool of yourself today.
Utahime fixes you with a look that makes you straighten up a little, all business.
“I want to get this right the first time, and it’s already going to be hard between the fangirls, the fanboys , and the limited press access during the season. Can you promise me that you won’t try to butt in?”
In lieu of answering Utahime’s question, you ask, “You’ll let me know when they do, right? When you hear back from them.”
Somehow, she manages to glare harder.
You suck your teeth, sigh, and relent, “I promise.”
The editor-in-chief doesn't look entirely convinced, but the severe expression on her face relaxes nonetheless. “There’s no need to worry,” Utahime’s phone buzzes in her pocket and she turns on her heels as she checks the notification, effectively closing the conversation. “Nanami will do this piece justice.”
The two exchange students stride towards the exit, seemingly now caught up in their own little world as they chuckle amongst themselves, hardly minding the entourage that follows. The afternoon sun floods the glass double doors with a bright light, and you watch after them as they push through.
“But that’s what I’m worried about,” you mumble, resign, and follow her into the office.
You wish someone would have told you how lonely college would be.
Classmates and people outside of the newspaper staff tended to keep you at arm's length once they learned of your extracurriculars, mostly for fear of one day seeing themselves among the crisp pages of the biweekly print. It was all in vain; in your four years being juggled between columns, you had never aired out anyone’s dirty laundry. You were diligent in your moral code, however gray. People tended to give you a wide berth nonetheless.
It was no sweat off your back - for a journalist you are laughably not a people person. Small talk made you want to crawl out of your skin. Relationships were tedious. People were finicky and prone to lying. Unreliable. Their stories, however - actually, maybe just as much so, but that was an entirely different thrill. And yet as graduation crept closer, your lackluster portfolio mocked you far worse than your meager contacts list. Submitting job applications felt like shooting blanks at a target while blindfolded. You needed a miracle - and fast.
It’s just your luck that the evening you are the last to lock up the student newspaper office, two miraculous things happen at once: the lead sports editor forgets his press pass at his desk just as two of Japan’s highest-ranking athletes in men’s college basketball officially announce their transfer to your institution as part of some long-running good-will exchange program.
The first anomaly is sports editor Kento Nanami’s sudden bout of forgetfulness. In his rush to make it to the press conference early, he had left the badge on his desk. You’re nice enough to promise to drop by the auditorium where it’s being held, telling him as much over text. Your peer responds with the same level of dryness you’ve come to associate with him.
Thanks. Read 6:46 PM.
The whole thing already felt like a bad omen.
Enter anomaly number two, the two Japanese exchange students joining your school’s record-holding Division One basketball team for the year. The news had spread like wildfire across the campus of your large liberal arts college before it had even reached the newspaper. It was never a matter of why the exchange program was happening.
The university boasted an extremely impressive men’s basketball team that dominated the American college league in every sense of the word. Armed with a history of individuals who went on to become some of the highest-paid athletes in the NBA and a team of coaches with a tremendous wealth of experience, your sleepy liberal arts school has made a name for itself in the world of college-level athletics. It was inevitable that other institutions would want a piece of the pie, and Tokyo University had long established their in.
It was never a matter of why, but who.
They’re gorgeous. Inarguably so. A pair of athletes in a league of their own amongst their peers both in the States and on their home turf, both parties of which you’ve witnessed trip over themselves in a clumsy dichotomy of disdainful and overbearing eagerness already in the short time you’ve spent observing the team. Youthful, dripping raw athleticism, handsome beyond words, and worst of all, they know it - the smarmy one with shocking white hair tells you as much when you meet for the first time in the elevator.
“Take a picture, it’ll last longer.”
Satoru Gojo had every right to be brash and vainglorious. More popularly referred to by his last name, the famed shooting guard from Kyoto boasts an impressive track record under his belt, stats that put even the shiniest American college basketball players to shame. His inhuman height and athleticism make him a living nightmare to oppose. The strongest , the tabloids and play-by-play sports podcasts had labeled him. Even Nanami, of all people, had described him as a monster on the court. The lead sports editor is not the type to give compliments lightly - if that could even be considered one. But if Satoru Gojo is scary on paper, he’s fucking terrifying in person.
Heat crawls up your neck, and spills onto your cheeks, your gaze quickly returns to the floor. “Sorry,” you mumble, embarrassed. Without even having introduced yourself, you’ve somehow managed to tick him off twice in the span of a few days.
It seems as though the universe has a sense of humor tonight. You had rushed across campus to the auditorium, press pass held in your iron-fisted grip in an attempt to beat the clock. Only to end up in the elevator crammed between the very two people you’d been hoping to catch a glimpse of on your way out. While you had been hoping for some sort of miracle to be tossed your way, this..this was…
Caught off guard and underprepared, you feel brittle like a leaf in the wind under the shared weight of their gaze. Later, when you playback the recording on your phone in your pocket, you pretend not to notice when you hear your voice shake.
Suguru Getou, the other exchange student and equally formidable athlete, admonishes his teammate softly. The one who, now that you’re standing close enough to confirm, does indeed wear black gauges. His hair is loose from its bun today, inky locks tossed carelessly over one shoulder. They both don the university’s signature jerseys once again, the cleanest they’ll probably be all season. “Satoru, please.”
Satoru . You make note of the use of his given name, spoken gently and laced with amusement, like a parent scolding a wayward child.
You might almost believe Suguru to be sympathetic if he also didn’t look one slick comment away from laughing at your discomfort.
“What?” His teammate flat-out whines, having complete disregard for politeness - and personal space, apparently. He reaches over and flicks the piece of plastic clutched in your hand suddenly enough that it makes you flinch.
“Ain’t this a press pass? I’m just sayin’. They’ve got, like, a whole hour to do this shit.” Gojo gripes, scratching his head. In perfect English, they talk around you. Over you, like you’re just some physical inconvenience in the middle of a conversation they were already having. You probably are. Recognizing this doesn’t make your heart race any slower.
Out of the corner of your eye, the elevator ticks closer to the mezzanine floor, where you know Kento is waiting for you. This is your chance, this is your chance!
Like an idiot, you stumble over your words, trying for something between a convincing protest and solid introduction, quickly shoving the pass into the pocket that’s empty. “No, not all! Um, actually, I did have a few-,”
The elevator dings, announcing your arrival. Internally, you swear. Twice your build and stature, Gojo shoulders you on the way out without a second glance, nearly rocking you off of your feet. Over his shoulder, he wags his finger at you. “Ah, ah, no head starts.”
Suguru is at least polite enough to offer a smile, albeit one you can’t determine if it's sympathetic or pitiful. He gives you a once over, so quickly you might have imagined it. “Good luck out there.”
Stepping out into the hall, you watch half-stunned as the two teammates swagger in the opposite direction of your destination, off to where you assume their coach and athletic staff await.
Could you have possibly fumbled the ball any harder? You fiddle with your phone on the way to where Kento said he was last sitting, pausing your recording. Fumble? No, that’s football. What’s the basketball equivalent..?
Your colleague paces anxiously in the top row of the mezzanine, waiting for you to pass off his badge. If you had been paying close enough attention, you might even say he was nervous for once. Any other day, that’d be something you’d revel in. But tonight, caught up in your train of thought, you miss the look that crosses his face when you hand him the press pass without so much as a greeting.
“Are you okay?” He asks warily, more so out of obligation than kindness. You remember with stark clarity where he had been sitting at the staff meeting when Utahime rejected your request to cover the story - his stoic, unflinching expression when she announced it had been assigned to him. You had hardly been able to look him in the eye since. “You look like you’ve seen a ghost.”
“What do you call a fumble in basketball?”
Kento goes from overly cautious to puzzled. “...A fumble?”
“Ah.”
From where the pair of you stand at the height of the auditorium, the press gathered on the lower level look like a hungry, writhing mob. You observe them as they prepare for your esteemed guests, each armed with microphones and totting cameras with flash attachments the size of your fist. They face a backdrop littered with sponsorship logos, two seats, and an unimpressive table decorated in your school’s colors and laden with more microphones.
Kento moves to head to the elevator, only to hesitate at your contemplative look.
“Does this…” he sighs and starts over, fiddling with the pass slung around his neck. “I can’t bring you with me down there.”
“I know.”
“Or to any of the games.”
“I know.”
“Or interviews.”
You glance up, facing him full-on for the first time in days. Scanning his features for any sign of mockery. “...Okay.”
“But between this and the rest of the sports for this season, I’ve got my hands full.” On stage, the head coach appears to greet the slew of reporters, thanking them for coming out tonight. He begins to say a few words about the exchange students and the history of the exchange program. Kento’s eye twitches - you can feel him getting antsy. “I’m fine taking notes, but I could use some help with the drafting.”
A feeling wells up inside your chest. Amid all of the dejection, the disappointment, the worry - a glimmer of hope had appeared. Somebody was finally giving you a chance.
He offers his hand but you’re slow to take it. Eyes narrowed, you tell him rather than ask, “And I get credit.”
“Partial,” he acquiesces. “And we’ll be on the front page.”
The clamor beneath you begins to grow louder, and your colleague lurches back like he’ll jump over the balcony if that's what it will take to make it down there on time. Steel-eyed, you snatch Kento’s hand in yours before he can take anything back.
“Deal.”
The crowd below you erupts into a thunderous roar of cheers.

Jaxon was so proud. He and his friends had started a chapter of Overalls for All at their school. They promoted it every day, spending time in the dining hall or on the quad talking to every guy who would listen about the benefits of conformity. The overalls were a great conversation starter and appealed to any man's masculine nature. For Jaxon, overalls were more than just clothes - they were a uniform of brotherhood. Jaxon dreamed of a day when every man would wear overalls. And so Jaxon challenged the group to petition the Board of Directors to enact a new dress code - one that made overalls mandatory for all male students. It took many meetings and even some demonstrations on campus to make it happen. But it was clear that Overalls for All was a growing group - already one-third of the guys on campus were wearing overalls daily and nearly three-quarters had at least one pair of overalls in their closet.
So here Jaxon smiles as he just got word that the new dress code is going forward. He thinks about the incoming freshmen who will have such an easy transition as they don the uniform of all male students. He thinks about the camaraderie on campus as guys tug at their straps and pat their bibs as a greeting and sign of respect. Overalls for All was looking better and better every day - and once it caught on here, it would catch on at campuses across the country!

Moonlight Chicken Ep 3 Stray Thoughts
It's been an incredible week reacting to this show, and I've been particularly enjoying some of analysis from @telomeke and @respectthepetty, particularly this examination of the film Jim can't watch anymore. I'm also taken with how much homage and respect for film tradition that exists before them permeates Aof's work; there's a quality to this show that reminds me of Wong Kar-Wai that I can't exactly place yet.
Last time, we learned that Praew was pregnant, and Mark Pakin made me cry when Saleng received the dowry Jim acquired for him. Jim currently can't afford car insurance, and backed into a pair of folks on a motorcycle. Wen paid the folks off, further connecting the two of them. Speaking of Wen, he and Gaipa are now at quiet war over Jim, who is definitely in danger. Elsewhere, Li Ming opened up to Wen about his desire to travel, and began bonding with Heart (and, coincidentally, our hearts).
We're opening with Wen's work with this mall to demolish all of the traditional and street vendors. Hate how this is happening everywhere. Even Americans want street food. Look at how popular food trucks are.
Chapter 3: The Dream of the Eternal Moon
Gaipa is not happy about his mom helping them convince people to sell their businesses, and seems to be holding his tongue. I think Khaotung said that Gaipa completed college, so it's possible that his mom isn't keen on keeping her stall because she thinks he can take care of himself.
Well she's not wrong about traditional neighborhoods becoming a tourist attraction, and demolition being a missed opportunity.
Gemini and Fourth have learned a lot in their training. They use their eyes really well for newcomers. Heart seems genuinely happy to teach someone else how to communicate with him. I also like how they only have one pad and pen. It's very clear who is trying to say something that way, and the other has to agree by surrendering the tools.
Saleng is never gonna miss a chance to tease Jim.
Jim's existence feels anti-modern in so many ways. Despite his struggles, he donates to a community event and refuses promotion. You can see it affecting Wen, because it makes him uncomfortable to wear his work badge in the face of so much local camaraderie.
I like Jim's half-joking, practical view on faith. It's something he turns to when he's troubled, and believes helps him; or he convinces himself that they have already helped.
When will a man look at me the way Wen and Jim look at each other?
Oh snap a flashback. So Papang gets to play the man who made Jim give up on love? They took the risk to open this business together, and now he's gone?
Why would Beam leave his phone unlocked if he's seeing someone else?
How long has Jim conflated his failed romance with the beef he has with his homophobic sister?
At least the landlord came face to face to talk about the future of the diner. It also seems like he just assumes he can have whatever food he wants?
I'm with Li Ming. Why does a man with an upscale bike and is planning to sell off their livelihood deserve a free meal?
I'd be angry if I was Jim, too. Sleeping with someone working to demolish your livelihood and community, and who you let into that world?
Gaipa and Jim may get along, but does Jim know of his mom's role in this as a facilitator? Also, not sure how to read Saleng looking at them from the balcony.
Li Ming is failing school, and it doesn't look optimistic.
I wonder if Fourth will be playing a loser in 23.5 degrees as well. Both of his characters we've seen recently aren't great students, and have a lot of obstacles in front of their dreams.
Man, I really hope tensions ease between Li Ming and Jim. I never like when the kids in our extended family circle are at odds with us like this.
Absolutely losing it over Li Ming's Sesame Street "Everything I know I leaned on The Street" shirt.
I like how careful Wen is with Li Ming. He only asks questions so Li Ming can voice his frustrations, and then gives a gentle nudge to express those feelings clearly to Jim.
It's really clever to show Li Ming picking up on sign language as he's struggling with school. Shows that he's not dumb; he's just unmotivated with school.
Also, we can confirm that the chin thing is a Fourth thing with Gemini.
Not keen on the teens raiding the liquor cabinet, but I don't see Li Ming resisting a cute boy.
Interesting, this is Wen's stepdad, and he offers useful perspective on managing complicated romances.
"We're just friends," he says as he drinks Jim's beer of choice.
Oh no, the teens think they're clever by watering down the liquor.
Again, it's interesting seeing Gemini and Fourth twice right now, because Fourth looks down at Gemini's lips at similar timing as in My School President.
I feel like Fourth must have grown after filming this. Gemini seems taller than him here more than he does in MSP.
This notion of a hard life in America being better than life in Thailand is hinted at in The Warp Effect as well, and reflects conversations we've had with Thai friends we have locally.
Wen is tactful. Jim draws the class line between them, and Wen doesn't challenge it.
Aof wasn't lying. Fourth and Gemini are very cute together.
Very excited about the secret sleepover.
We finally see Alan. Hello, First Kanaphan, my beloved.
Drama tomorrow! À demain!

Budget-Friendly Christmas Gift Bags: Affordable and Festive Packaging
Christmas is a time of joy, giving, and gathering. But with such merriment often comes a hefty price tag. Thankfully, there's a simple way to add a personal touch without breaking the bank—budget-friendly Christmas gift bags. These charming packages serve as both a practical solution and a festive addition to any holiday celebration.
The Magic of Christmas Gift Bags
Gift-giving doesn't have to mean expensive wrapping. For consumers, Christmas gift bags offer an economical yet stylish alternative. Available in countless designs, these bags provide a quick solution for those who find themselves short on time. They eliminate the fuss of cutting and taping, making them a popular choice for busy individuals.
Additionally, gift bags are reusable, offering environmentally conscious consumers a sustainable option. Rather than discarding crumpled wrapping paper, gift bags can be used year after year, creating a tradition of their own. This practicality combined with festivity makes them a staple during the holiday season.
Furthermore, gift bags allow for creativity and personalization. Consumers can choose designs that match the recipient's personality or decorate plain bags with stickers and ribbons for a personal touch. This versatility ensures that every gift feels special and bespoke.
Retailers Reap the Benefits
For retailers, stocking budget-friendly Christmas gift bags can significantly boost sales. These items cater to last-minute shoppers looking for quick, convenient solutions. With eye-catching displays, retailers can draw customers in, encouraging impulse purchases that enhance overall revenue.
Cost-effective gift bags also provide retailers with a higher profit margin. By offering a variety of sizes and styles, stores can appeal to a wide array of customers while keeping production costs low. This balance between affordability and appeal is key to maximizing holiday profits.
Retailers can also use gift bags as promotional tools. By offering discounts on bundled purchases or including a free gift bag with certain items, shops can incentivize larger transactions. This strategy not only increases sales but also enhances customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Event Organizers and Festive Flair
Event organizers know the importance of presentation, especially during the holidays. Christmas gift bags serve as the perfect accessory for any festive gathering. They can be filled with small tokens or memorabilia, leaving guests with a lasting impression of the event.
Budget-friendly options ensure that organizers can maintain quality without exceeding budget constraints. Coordinating gift bags with the theme of the event adds a cohesive touch, elevating the overall atmosphere. Whether it’s a corporate party or community gathering, well-chosen gift bags complement any occasion.
Furthermore, customizable bags allow organizers to include branded elements, such as logos or event names. This branding opportunity not only enhances recognition but also creates a keepsake that attendees will treasure long after the event has ended.
Schools & Teachers Spread Holiday Joy
In schools, Christmas gift bags are a delightful way to celebrate the season. Teachers can use these bags to distribute treats and trinkets to their students, fostering a sense of camaraderie and joy among classmates. It's an inclusive gesture that makes everyone feel valued.
Affordable gift bags help stay within limited school budgets. With so many styles available, teachers can choose designs that resonate with children, making the gift-giving experience even more enjoyable. Bright colors, fun patterns, and interactive elements capture the imagination of young students.
Gift bags also offer educational opportunities. Teachers can involve students in decorating plain bags, allowing them to express their creativity while developing fine motor skills. This activity not only personalizes the gifts but also enhances the learning environment with festive cheer.
Charities & Nonprofits Make a Difference
Charitable organizations are always seeking ways to maximize their resources. By using budget-friendly Christmas gift bags, charities can distribute donations more effectively. These bags ensure that recipients receive their gifts in a dignified and festive manner, enhancing the spirit of giving.
Cost-effective gift bags allow charities to allocate more funds toward the gifts themselves. By choosing affordable packaging, nonprofits can focus their budgets on providing essentials and meaningful items to those in need. This thoughtful approach amplifies the impact of their charitable efforts.
Additionally, themed gift bags help raise awareness for specific causes. By incorporating messaging or logos, nonprofits can educate the public about their mission, fostering greater community support and involvement. This dual purpose of function and communication is invaluable for charitable work.
Event Planners Create Memorable Moments
For event planners, Christmas gift bags are an essential component of any holiday celebration. These versatile items can be used in various ways, from party favors to raffle prizes, ensuring guests leave with a tangible memory of the event.
Gift bags offer cost savings without sacrificing style. Planners can select designs that align with the event's theme, creating a seamless aesthetic that enhances the guest experience. This attention to detail sets professional events apart, leaving attendees impressed and satisfied.
Event planners also benefit from the ease of preparation that gift bags provide. Pre-filled bags streamline setup and distribution, allowing planners to focus on other critical aspects of event management. This efficiency is crucial during the busy holiday season, where time is of the essence.
Parents and the Joy of Gifting
Parents often carry the weight of orchestrating holiday celebrations. Budget-friendly Christmas gift bags simplify the process, allowing parents to present gifts beautifully without the hassle of traditional wrapping. This convenience is especially valuable when managing multiple gifts for children, family, and friends.
Gift bags also add an element of surprise and delight. Children are often intrigued by the mystery of what's hidden inside, making the unwrapping experience even more exciting. Parents can enhance this excitement by choosing bags with playful designs that spark curiosity.
These bags teach valuable lessons in sustainability. By encouraging children to reuse and recycle gift bags, parents instill environmentally friendly habits from a young age. This practice not only reduces waste but also fosters a sense of responsibility and stewardship.
E-commerce Businesses Enhance Customer Experience
For e-commerce businesses, presentation is paramount. Budget-friendly christmas gift bags offer an opportunity to elevate customer experience, turning each delivery into a festive event. This attention to detail creates a memorable unboxing experience that customers will share and remember.
Gift bags can be used to differentiate brands in a competitive market. By including a thoughtfully designed bag with every purchase, businesses demonstrate their commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. This small gesture can lead to increased brand loyalty and repeat business.
E-commerce platforms benefit from the efficiency of gift bags. By pre-packaging products, businesses streamline their fulfillment process, reducing handling time and ensuring timely delivery during the hectic holiday season. This operational efficiency is crucial for maintaining customer trust and satisfaction.

Increased Motivation: Studying with a group creates a sense of accountability, keeping you motivated to stay ahead of the curve. Seeing your peers committed to studying can inspire you to do the same.
Development of Communication and Collaboration Skills: Group learning fosters communication and collaboration skills essential for success in both academic and professional settings. You learn to articulate ideas clearly, listen actively, and work effectively with others.
Reduced Stress: Sharing the workload and anxieties associated with academics can make studying less stressful. The camaraderie of a learning group creates a supportive environment that promotes well-being.
Group Learning in the Online Learning Sphere

Statement from the House of H.M. the King on the military training and career of HRH the Princess of Asturias
14.03.2023
MILITARY TRAINING AND MILITARY CAREER OF HRH THE PRINCESS OF ASTURIAS
1.- Her Royal Highness the Princess of Asturias will finish her International Baccalaureate studies at the UWC Atlantic College of Wales, in the United Kingdom, at the end of May. After completing her secondary education, it is necessary to consider the next formative stage of the Princess, taking into account her responsibilities, first as Heiress to the Crown and, later, as future Queen of Spain.
2.- The Princess of Asturias will start higher education next academic year 2023-2024. To this end, it is established that in this period both her military training –in the broader framework of her military career– and her university training to achieve a degree and, in her case, a postgraduate degree, converge.
3.- In accordance with art. 2.2 of Law 39/2007, of November 19, on the Military Career, the Princess of Asturias may develop a military career and have military jobs determined by Royal Decree by the Government, which is empowered to establish its own regime and differentiated taking into account the demands of its high representation and its status as Heiress to the Crown of Spain.
Consequently, the Royal Decree approved today by the Council of Ministers regulates the military career of HRH the Princess of Asturias and her military formation, in terms similar to those that in her day regulated that of HM The King, adapting it to the current teaching characteristics of the military academies where the respective defense university centers are also located today.
4.- H.M. The King, together with the Queen, considers that the military training of the Princess of Asturias is very convenient and valuable: it reinforces the service and dedication capacities, and facilitates the representation tasks that she will have to assume, as Heir to the Crown of Spain, in accordance with the provisions of Title II of the Constitution.
So, TM The King and Queen welcome this new formative stage of Princess Leonor with the satisfaction of knowing her will, interest and enthusiasm in receiving this training. Princess Leonor knows the demands and sacrifices that military life entails and is well aware of the honor of training and serving alongside the men and women of our Armed Forces.
5.- Military education provides a very complete and adequate technical and human training to guarantee the commitment of permanent service to Spanish society. On the one hand, it will provide you with specific knowledge and skills for the military field; on the other, it will expressly promote virtues such as loyalty, discipline, courage or camaraderie, and principles such as responsibility, exemplary nature or austerity.
6.- The experience acquired by H.M. the King during his time in the academies is a valuable precedent to consider adjusted that the military training of HRH The Princess of Asturias also lasts three academic years, one for each, Army, Air Force and the Navy. Likewise, the structure of the current study plans and the framing in a promotion advises completing those three courses.
7.- The training period will begin in August 2023 in the Army, and will take place during the 2023-2024 academic year at the General Military Academy of Zaragoza. HRH The Princess of Asturias will join this Academy with the employment of Lady-Cadet. The following academic year, 2024-2025, will take place in the Navy and she will develop it with the employment of a Midshipman both in the Naval Military School of Marín, and on board the Juan Sebastián de Elcano Training Ship, during her training trip. Finally, the Princess will complete her third year in the Air and Space Army, joining the San Javier General Air Academy for the 2025-2026 academic year as Ensign Student.
8.- Finally, it is appropriate to remember that in the European parliamentary monarchies it is a widely observed and shared tradition that future Heads of State develop a military career and, within this framework, receive training of this nature, which varies according to the characteristics of each country, in addition to university education. This practice is based on the fact that, in most cases and under the terms and with the scope established and regulated in the different constitutional texts, they are attributed the supreme command of the Armed Forces. So does our own Constitution.

I follow and ADMIRE DA:NCE Awareness. They are the campaigning arm of Mary Bawden’s dance ministry, Soul to Sole Choreography.
The guest blog post by Heather Harrington, a New Jersey dance professor, intrigued me greatly. She wrote:
“I would have put myself in a better position if I had just worn red lipstick,” explains Kayleen Babel, who gives advice for trying out for college dance teams on her YouTube channel. She later explains that make-up and hair are part of your appearance score, and that you should try to look like the members of the current dance team. You want to blend in, not stand out as an individual. If a male basketball team required an appearance score based on hairstyle and make-up, sprinkled with a warm smile, what would people think?
Aesthetic sports and activities including dance, cheer, ice skating, synchronized swimming, and gymnastics (including rhythmic) rely on some degree of subjective judgments, with some of those judgments scoring appearance. How one looks becomes just as important or more important than what one does.
And those lines are texts are real wham lines:
As competition dance continues to grow in popularity in the US, it’s mostly female participants seek out college dance or cheer teams where they will find similar routines in movement vocabulary, choreography, and performance quality. Members of a college dance team can continue competing at Universal Dance Association (UDA), United Spirit Association (USA), and the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA). The routines for the dance teams can vary from pumping hip-hop dances, jazz, high kick, lyrical, to more cheer-oriented movements with pompoms (read: pom routines).
Young people are exposed to the college dance teams through clips shown on social media, and promotions for training clinics geared towards middle school and high school students. Being on one of these teams can be exhilarating—you move as a unit which can create a sense of camaraderie, belonging, an identity, and new friends. And, you are seen.
However, when people are moving and dressing the same, a pressure develops to not stand out— one must appear and move like everyone else. Here the disciplinarian actions come into play; weigh this amount, wear your make-up, hair, nails this way, pluck your eyebrows, smile, gesture this way, wear this costume and fit into it. Any discipline that is defined as an aesthetic sport invites surveillance of appearance. When a person is judged on their appearance, the potentiality for body control and abuse increases. Adults are playing with a vulnerable growing ego in children and young adults; they want to be accepted and wanted. Rejection is hard and the fragile ego in an activity that honors conformity and uniformity is acutely aware that any misstep away from the norm can mean dismissal. When one’s individuality is not honored or respected, a person feels a danger of being replaced. Personhood is hard to achieve with objectification, but feeling like a product is easy.
Pause and reread the text again:

This article unlocks several core memories, especially the University of Washington poster for the tryouts for their 2016-2017 cheer and dance teams.
The poster required girls to get tanned; look like a typical fitspo model (ripped abs and slender limbs); wear solid black sports bras; mid-rise shorts in said solid color; and a vague “girl-about-town” lipstick shade worn on lips, to name but some.
As a combo dancer in my early youth and a dance fan, I’m all for precision in choreography in group dances. I’m also all for form-fitting dancewear. But the UW poster highlighted the “wear your make-up, hair, nails this way” disciplinarian actions that fuel the body control.
And not to mention the “wear your skin this way” rules for tryouts. This is a barrier to some Filipino prospective cheerleaders and dancers, as they might have elders who constantly would admonish them to whiten their complexions or keep them pale.
“One of the first things that comes mind is objectification and idealization of Western beauty, which are values I would like to believe the University doesn't want to perpetuate," Jazmin Perez said, “As a student of color who looks nothing like the student in the poster, this feels very exclusive.”
Ginang Harrington highlights the lessons learned from the UW cheer and dance tryout poster fiasco from 2016:
Aesthetic sports and activities should not end, but the people who participate in them should resist exploitation and objectification by respecting their personhood— they do, not just appear. Each person is an individual, not part of a monolithic whole. Personality can be encouraged by parents, teachers, coaches, and judges so that a participant learns to see her self-worth and pushes back against people who want to take it away. These dancers will not be on the sidelines, but instead center. They will have power, agency and ownership of their bodies.
And that serves a lesson for parents. If your children wish to join a dance team, read and reread the tryout/audition packets and forms CAREFULLY. Do the coaches require dancers to don volumized hair, false lashes, and lipstick in “girl-about-town hues” alongside them executing clean pas de kiltses (turning C jumps), grandes jetes en faces (side leaps), and triple outside turns? Do they offer mandatory weigh-ins? Do the costumes not jibe with your and their morals?
If any applies to the dance team tryout requirements, either switch ones if possible OR join a non-competitive dance group with teachers who are highly knowledgeable in dance terminology, dance history, anatomy, abuse prevention, and child development. Look especially for ones who are Youth Protection Association in Dance (YPAD) certified.
Look for teachers who emphasize solid and anatomically sound dance technique, no matter what color your lips and skin are and no matter how “athletic” you look. (All bodies are athletic bodies.)
youtube
Gotta end this post with Bob Boross’s 1994 lyrical dance number (which might rather suit its theme well). This was a time when almost only men would do grands pirouettes a la secondes with releves in between in routines in this jazz dance subgenre AND when costumes covered knees and midriffs. Ah, the good old days!

Listen to me
From someone who joined the military to get out of a bad situation, do not join the US Military. In addition to being able to do all of the same things by joining organizations like mentioned above, the military is not good for you. Even if you are stationed in a non combat position/area it is not good for you. I was never once stationed outside the US. Hell we were barely operational outside my duty station and it was still the worst experience of my life.
Bootcamp is months of brainwashing and it WORKS, if you think you're immune to it or that for whatever reason you're the one person it won't work on you're wrong. Even if you walk out of it with all the same ideals/political stances/opinions WHATEVER- you will be changed by it. It took months for me to not feel a massive spike of anxiety anytime someone so much as accidentally brushed against me because of how hard they discouraged "recruit to recruit contact". I once saw two guys hesitate to give each other high fives after they finished a hard run. That is only the smallest example I can think of. And after you get out of bootcamp you are ridiculed for having been brainwashed and violently forced to undo the way you were MADE to be for months.
You are never anything but a number to them, a cog in the machine. If you are not useful, you're worthless and you get treated like it. That "camaraderie" is not unconditional. It's a popularity contest and it affects EVERYTHING. I have seen the best workers I've ever known passed over for promotion because the "right people" didn't like them. It was also laughably easy to be unlikeable. If you were vocal about you or the people around you being mistreated you were unlikeable. If you prioritized your health over the job you were unlikeable. If you pointed out that an order given to you by a superior was wrong (i.e. could result in breaking shit and/or possibly hurting someone) you were unlikeable.
Not a whole lot of this is unlike any other job in modern day capitalism with one very important exception and that is you have absolutely no protection because the military OWNS you. You are government property, they could do almost anything and get away with it because either nobody cares or there was literally an instruction that allowed it. They are allowed to reduce your pay, they are allowed to control where you live, they are allowed to control how many people you interact with, they are allowed to control every single aspect of your life if they can find a way to justify it- and they will. They have the power to destroy your whole life and I have seen it done to more people than I really like to think about.
Suicide rates for people in the military are astronomical. So much so that I remember my training school no shit celebrating, like a pizza party with a speech from the Captain kind of celebrating, ONE full year without any suicides. Less than a month later an instructor was found to have killed himself in his house. A student was found OD'd in his car in the parking lot. Someone else jumped off the roof of one of the barracks, thankfully they survived. But there's such a sense of normalcy about it that was uncanny. There is probably not a single person in the military that does not at least know of someone who has killed themselves. Suicidal humor was everywhere, we clung to it to survive. If we stopped joking about it, how close every single one of us was to it would become too real. How commonplace it was proved it was far beyond the point of being able to pass it off as a few odd cases. The environment we were in was just that bad.
And it DESTROYS your body. Your knees? Back? In pain, always. The amount of times I had to choose between sleeping and eating was absolutely ridiculous. I lost 40 pounds in just over a month and it eroded the fuck out of my muscles and tendons. I was weak and my body was falling apart. Constantly tired which only increased the need for sleep because if you were caught sleeping on watch you were FUCKED.
So many people in the military try ANYTHING to get out. It's a dangerous game to play because if they even THINK you're lying about something you can get accused of malingering and then you're fucked. I used to work in the drug and alcohol prevention program at one of my commands and the amount of people that just consistently did drugs so they could get caught and kicked out was ridiculous. They would have rather possibly get an other than honorable discharge than stay in. In case you don't know: if you get anything except an honorable discharge from the military it becomes INCREDIBLY hard to get a job after your service. Civilian companies DO NOT want you if you don't have an honorable discharge. These people knew that and just didn't care, they wanted out so bad they risked their future over it.
I could go on forever but I'm just going to stop here and say one more time-
DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES JOIN THE US MILITARY

Building Legacies: The Impact of Volunteering with Cornell’s Alumni Interfraternity Council
Volunteering for Cornell University’s Alumni Interfraternity Council (AIFC) is a powerful way to stay connected, give back, and make a difference. As Cornell alums, AIFC members are entrusted with the mission of guiding and supporting the university’s Greek life while helping shape future leaders. The council’s role is to mentor, philanthropy, and preserve the traditions that make Cornell unique. Here’s how alum volunteers with the AIFC contribute to a lasting legacy that benefits both students and themselves.
Reuniting Alumni Through Lasting Connection
One of the most rewarding aspects of volunteering for the AIFC is the opportunity to reconnect with fellow alums, from past classmates to recent graduates. Through events and initiatives, alums can build new relationships and strengthen old bonds, creating a network that spans generations. This connection to other alums provides a sense of community and camaraderie, offering members a support system that goes beyond their Cornell years.
Serving on the AIFC also allows alums to bridge the gap between different eras of Cornell’s Greek life, facilitating a multi-generational network of shared values and experiences. These lasting connections add to a sense of belonging, helping alums feel continuously connected to their fraternity or sorority and Cornell as a whole.
Mentorship: Shaping Tomorrow’s Leaders
Alums who volunteer with the AIFC play an essential role in mentoring current fraternity members and guiding them on their academic and personal journeys. Through career advice, personal guidance, and support, alums help students build confidence, develop leadership skills, and prepare for their futures. This mentorship often makes a profound impact as students gain a network of trusted advisors who can help them overcome challenges and embrace opportunities.
For alumni, mentoring offers a chance to reconnect with the university experience and see Cornell through fresh eyes. By shaping the leaders of tomorrow, alums also find purpose and fulfillment, knowing that they are positively influencing the lives of students and contributing to a supportive campus culture.
Promoting Community Service and Philanthropy
The AIFC strongly emphasizes philanthropy, encouraging alumni and students to participate in service initiatives that benefit the university and the broader community. Alum volunteers organize events, raise funds, and lead projects that support a variety of causes, from scholarships to local community efforts. These philanthropic activities serve as a powerful reminder of the importance of giving back and the positive impact alums can have on the world.
By promoting a culture of community service, AIFC alums inspire students to carry on this spirit of generosity. The collaborative efforts between alums and students foster a commitment to social responsibility that strengthens Cornell’s Greek system and instills lifelong values of compassion and service.
Preserving Traditions That Define Cornell’s Greek Life
Cornell’s Greek community is rooted in traditions that alums help preserve through their work with the AIFC. From organizing events that celebrate fraternity and sorority heritage to advising on issues of policy and culture, alums play a critical role in maintaining the legacy and values of Greek life. These traditions not only create a sense of pride for current students but also foster a deep connection to Cornell’s history.
Alumni's involvement in preserving these traditions offers a sense of continuity, ensuring that future generations experience the same sense of unity and identity that past members did. By staying active in the AIFC, alums take pride in contributing to a vibrant, lasting Greek culture that honors Cornell’s past while adapting to the future.
Enhancing Leadership and Professional Skills
Volunteering for the AIFC provides alums with opportunities to develop leadership and organizational skills that are valuable in both personal and professional life. Coordinating events, managing budgets, and leading teams within the council allow alums to gain experience that enhances their professional growth. These responsibilities empower alums to take on meaningful roles and positively impact the direction of the council.
For many, the leadership experience gained through volunteering with the AIFC translates to greater confidence and effectiveness in their careers. Serving on the council allows alums to refine skills such as communication, project management, and decision-making, making their time with the AIFC both impactful and practical.
Enhancing the Student Experience on Campus
AIFC alum volunteers have the unique opportunity to improve the student experience at Cornell by supporting fraternity and sorority life. Their involvement directly impacts campus life, providing students with resources, mentorship, and a sense of belonging. By organizing events, supporting student initiatives, and advocating for student needs, alums create a welcoming environment where students feel supported and empowered.
These efforts also foster a culture of inclusivity and engagement, making the Greek system a more vibrant and positive aspect of Cornell’s campus. Alums who volunteer with the AIFC find fulfillment in knowing that their contributions help shape a community that values student success and well-being.
Lifelong Learning and Fulfillment Through Service
Volunteering with the AIFC is not just about giving back; it’s an opportunity for lifelong learning and personal growth. Many alums discover new interests, develop skills, and find fulfillment through their involvement with the council. The AIFC offers a chance to continuously learn and grow, providing alums with experiences that enrich their lives and deepen their connection to Cornell.
For many, volunteering becomes a way to relive the camaraderie and excitement of college life while serving a meaningful purpose. This combination of nostalgia and purpose adds to the personal fulfillment of AIFC alums, making their involvement an enriching experience.
Leaving a Lasting Legacy
Alums who dedicate their time and efforts to the AIFC leave a lasting legacy at Cornell, creating a foundation of support, mentorship, and tradition for future generations. This legacy reflects the values of leadership, integrity, and community that define Cornell’s Greek system. By volunteering, alums ensure that Cornell’s Greek life continues to thrive and serve as a positive force within the university.
Through their service, AIFC alums create a legacy that benefits current students, strengthens the university’s Greek community, and inspires future generations to uphold the same values. This lasting impact is a testament to the dedication and commitment of alums who choose to give back through the council.
