That was most certainly NOT the voice of a little girl.

What once cowered at the sight of her mentor about to be consumed now scrunched her face into an insulted scowl. The child hissed, hunching over as a burst of green flame erupted from her back. From the fire came a pair of translucent, tattered wings, which rustled like wet leaves in autumn as they spread wide.

The ‘child’ began to march towards him. On all fours. Walking with a gait impossible for a human, and with an air of authority illogical for an 8-year old.

The sneer parted, and her lips unfolded like mandibles. A forked, harpoon-tipped tongue lashed out at him with every venom-laced word.

“I’ve been feeding off this one for too long for some… some street rat to take it from me!”

The alleyway filled with the furious beating of wings. A hoof - gnarled and puckered - slammed down between him and the prize.

“Back. Off.”

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞, 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐤– perhaps a victim to some patron of pestilence. The rogue illithid is thankful for not having a sense of smell. This child's uncanny gait and appendages scream of its putridness.

The cloaked Emperor drops the dazed humanoid from his grasp. He was mere inches from consuming their mind. Though he took note of how easy they were to bend, yet from this uncanny child's statement… there might not be much to feast upon anyway.

No matter.

That wouldn't give him a reason to flee the scene. He wouldn't go down to the level of animalistic tendency of fighting over scraps– illithids are above that. Instead, he holds his head high and sends a strong psionic wave with a force that stings and pushes anything in its path– akin to a carnival master whipping an unruly beast.

" You may wish to reconsider challenging me. " The Emperor warns, hoping his warning was enough to alert the uncanny child that they're dealing with an illithid; a being that lacks earthly emotion. " Or it may be your mind I feast upon this night. "

(Unreality:) Hey, has anyone here ever played that co-op game In Stars and Prologue? I need some help. My partner recently got a bug in which they've been stuck on the third floor and neither of us know how to get rid of it. I also think this game wasn't really built well for co-op because the rest of the party seems to only be able to process one Siffrin at a time, even when it's really obvious there's two? Which? Is weird because it's a two player game, why didn't the developer bother to account for two Siffrins???

no but really, I think it fits him really well! I had thought his UM would probably involve something kinda sleight-of-handy or pickpockety! and I looooved that it made such a nice loop-around back to episode 1. ❤️ I was. kind of half-expecting him to just run out and punch Riddle in the nose again. but instead this time 'twas he who offed the queen's head! it was great! and he did it while stone-cold terrified out of his mind! because Ace is the only remotely normal or well-adjusted person at NRC and therefore the only one who is like "we're going to literally die, this is super effed up". but he did it anyway!!!! I AM SO PROUD
