The “bucket” of the pelvis. This is what I like to call a “constructive abstraction” which is abstraction of part of the human body that helps us better understand more about the part. The pelvis doesn’t look exactly like this bucket but it’s anatomical forms fit nicely inside this abstraction. When I talk about the three primary forms of the body I’m referring to the head, rib cage, and pelvis. Here’s a look at the Loomis head, simplified rib cage, and bucket 🪣 shape of the pelvis.
