Hi! I just found out that Archie made Sonic comics?!?

There are so many titles, it's overwhelming, do you possibly know where should I start?

i'm probably not the person to ask bc i only know so much myself

my first recommendation is this nearly nine-hour retrospective:

basically covers everything important so you don't actually have to read anything, or to refresh. it would probably take less time to watch this than to read the 250+ comics. It's fun, he goes on an emotional roller-coaster.

Other than that, I would just start at the beginning of the main series. I know there's places where it branches off into miniseries, I don't know what's what or where's where though. Maybe someone's made a timeline by now. I dunno.

ProjectSNT has some live-streams of reading the early Archie comics, starting from issue #1, if you fancy being read to:

also good for actually knowing where it starts so when you look for the comics you know where you're supposed to be.

Had a brief Sonic kick after rewatching some of ProjectSNT's videos, and drew Echidna!Dal a few times as a result :3

Nothing fancy in terms of design changes, apart from mildly adjusting his quills so that they behave less like hair and more like… well, quills.

One of the videos I watched (particularly the Super SNT redesign) mentioned the Chaos Emeralds, and it made me think about Chaos energy as a whole. Admittedly I don't have as much of a grasp on Chaos energy as I'd like, and looking it up gave me things along the lines of "very powerful, you can take over the world with all seven Emeralds, responds to wielder's heart, and small amounts reside in all living things."

Some like Sonic, Knuckles, and especially Shadow, are sensitive to this energy and can utilize it when needed, both in and out of combat. Dalex, however… cannot.

Since he's part of a subterranean tribe that was never connected to Knuckles', Dalex had never encountered large amounts of Chaos energy (nor did he know what it even was) until reaching the surface with Team Sonic. He's not particularly sensitive to it, but the exceptions are the Emeralds themselves and Shadow, both of which radiate so much energy (even with Shadow's inhibitor rings) that it's impossible to ignore, to the point where it briefly scared Dalex into avoiding Shadow's presence.

If he somehow managed to get all seven Chaos Emeralds and go Super, the results would be a guaranteed disaster.

Even if he does clear the air with Shadow and become more familiar with Chaos energy when it's coming from something/someone else, having so much within his own body would be a whole new struggle, one that he wouldn't be able to win.

Loss of control would come in a matter of seconds and he'd start wrecking everything, disregarding the concept of Friend or Foe as he unleashes attack after attack in a panicked frenzy. Only way to stop him would be to either hit him hard enough that the Emeralds are knocked out of his body, or simply let him burn out on his own. Also keep him away from any rings, of course.

tldr; Exposing Chaos energy to someone who's very unfamiliar with/intimidated by it spells nothing but… well, chaos. No pun intended.

And why is the hypothetical Super Dalex blue? I just thought it'd look better than yellow/gold. And if Super Knuckles could be pink at one point, then Dal can be blue =3=
