PHOTOGRAPHY MAJOR PROJECT
Family Archives
These images were taken by my mother in the 80s and 90s. I find them extremely interesting as it shows how her style has changed over the past 20 years. The first two images were taken in her house when she was a student and the last image was taken in our old house in my oldest sister’s nursery.

Type inspiration
Typography Sketchbooks by Steven Heller and Lita Talarico
This book showed me what goes on behind the scenes of the work of type designers. I was able to see not only the process of their work, but also read about their ideas and views on creating various letterforms.
Speaking of the letter shapes themselves, I am really impressed by the quality of these artists' initial sketches and the consistency of the characters created. I really enjoyed Oded Ezer's work and his calligraphic experimentation, which represents an almost classical and antique style.

Screen - Tutorial
13/02/2020
Stills from Installation with Screens & Mirrors “Consider Falling” by Sarah Howe at the Science Gallery
( Exhibition )
After talking to Rachel about my idea I have decided to abandon the idea of making a human-size doll with the screen inside as it is difficult for me to give it a meaning. This tutorial was extremely helpful as always, it is so good to say your ideas out loud and get advice from other people, therefore I have decided to go ahead with my initial idea to do something with mirrors and screens.
I have shown Sarah Howe work to Rachel and told her my idea of repetitive gestures, expressions, movements made in a Loop / GiF way and she thinks it will work. She also advised me to start playing with mirrors to see how it could work with a screen.
Also, we looked at this “new perception-altering exhibition “( that I had seen in 2017 at the Biennale In Venice !!!) called Space Shifters at the Hayward Gallery ( until January, I have missed it :( )
youtube
( Space Shifters | Hayward Gallery | 26 September 2018 - 6 January 2019 - Taken from Youtube )
Here is the video of the exhibition. I like the play with mirrors and I am curious to see how it will work with projections or screens.
Interesting article about the exhibition ( https://londonist.com/london/art-and-photography/space-shifters-hayward-gallery-southbank-centre-art-review )
( Gif or me having fun/ interacting with WeltenLinie (2017) by Alicja Kwade sculptural installation at the Venice Biennale in 2017)
Also, great inspirations are Yayoi Kusama’s chamber rooms ( Infinity Mirrors ) that create the illusion of infinite space ( video below - taken from Youtube)
youtube
I remember seen her work a few years ago at Victoria Miro Gallery in Angel and when I got there from outside the room was very small but as soon as you get in, because of the play with a mirror it looks and feels infinite.
I am very excited to play with mirrors and curios to see what will come out from it!

Budget Plan
As my goal is to create Lightboxes, I have put an estimated budget together.
My plan is to print at least 3 potentially 4 A2 prints and put them on a light box.
Supplies
The structure
1 Option (the cheaper one)
MDF Board - 1120 x 610 = £15 - £21
1 MDF board can make 3 A2s.
2nd option (more expensive but ideal lightbox)
Perspex(clear plastic) - 1120 x 610 = £50 - £70
1 Perspex could make 3 A2
Definite Supplies
Lights
Preferably LED lights
Will need 4 lights per box
Amazon - 2 lights each 34 cm x 340 for £13
others range to £13 - £20
Each box for lights could equal to £28 - £40
3 Lightboxes strictly regarding lights = £84 - £120
4 light boxes strictly regarding lights = £112 - £160
Misc supplies
wood glue
White Paint
Filler to cover screws
Overall budget would be between £200 - £300
for overall supplies for building the actual lightbox
not counting the prints as I was told I need to build the light boxes first before knowing the prints.

Article: High-Tech Zweikampf 3D Printed Soccer Shin Guards Get Kickstarted (Grunewald, 2016).
After we decided for one main idea for our project I did a little research what is already out there... and I found this shin pad: ZWEIKAMPF. Zweikampf is a sports equipment manufacturer in Austria who released their their first pair of 3D printed shin pads through Kickstarter in 2016. The Zweikampf Shin Guard is a high-tech product that convince in both, quality and design. It it thinner, lighter and stronger compared to others on the market and has additionally a modern design that can be customized for any player and their individual requirements (Grunewald, 2016). I like the idea behind the concept of working with 3D print so it gets more comfortable and safer for the leg. This is manufacturing looks like as it is at its finest.

Video: Anti-Diving Soccer Shin Pads (Diagonal View, 2011, May 04).
Furthermore I also found this video at dailymotion about Anti-Diving Soccer Shin Pads by Diagonal View, which are reacting if the shin pad will be contacted by players. Even if the technology is aged it is still a innovative idea. The idea of recording if it could be a real foul is something what the soccer area needs because there are still situation where the referee can´t say it. I can imagine that this idea combined with modern technology could be a great next step to fair play.

Hello,

we decided to focused on some concepts, these are: observation, alienation, be caught in a trap.
observation: In the book, all characters observe to each other and it was very interesting for us so we decided to work with that concept. When we started the researched about observation we found some important names about this theory. They are: Miche Foucault and Mark Poster, at this point, we needed more reading.
