tbh i deadass thought about starting from the basics like this. bc i’ve always hated math and struggled with it, and i always felt the boys in class got more attention for math and science. i went to a small hick school but idk maybe that’s just my experience

try it out if you can! i think most community colleges these days have some form of foundational math

there’s also khan academy too for free if comm college is still something out of reach, i know this link is going to sound awful cause its /fifth grade math/ but this is where i started in community college, back to the EXTREME basics just like the stuff in the link below and it was a god send. fractions are NOTHING to me anymore like the fear i had for them back in high school is gone they are so ridiculously easy now.

its aligned with common core so its a different approach to learning this, if your school back in the day just did the whole memorization thing

and if you need to start from before fifth grade then go for it!! start where you feel comfortable

the flowery writing gets to meet too. there's def a line. and everyone has different preference and style. if i takes me longer to figure out what you're conveying with flowery writing then it's too flowery for me

for real, my eyes start glazing over and i start skimming until i see something actually interesting
