edano and his boys bully him pretty relentlessly until teru finally takes notice of him and creates this messy possessive bubble around shigeo where only he gets to bully and fuck w him (🏳️‍🌈❓) until mob gets so angry his powers begin to reawaken and teru POUNCES on him for a fight. except this time, teru wins, and gives mob an ultimatum to become his little esper guard dog in return for a socially lavish lifestyle.

Who are we? 

In the most literal sense we are Ley and Bea. (Our personal blogs are @leynaeithnea & @friedmagazinebouquet )

We are two storytellers who are completely normal about mythology, and Diomedes in particular! Obviously!

We started working on this musical in early October, after an off-hand comment in a discord server that someone should make a musical about Diomedes.

Somehow we decided to keep daydreaming about it, asking "what-if" after "what-if", and eventually figured that sometimes you have to take things into your own hands.

What will this musical be about?

The life of Diomedes of Argos, from his father's death when he was 4 years old, all the way up until his own. As of now we plan to be covering his childhood, the Trojan War, his homecoming, exile, life in Italy and the end of his mortal life.

What will be the format of the musical?

It will be fully sung-through, allowing for it to be easily accessible to everyone once it is complete.

We want to emphasize auditory storytelling so that no visual elements will be necessary to get the full expierence.

Though visuals (be it animation, stage play or other) might still allow for even more immersion, it's an element that we won't put our focus on for now

What stage of production are we at?

We are currently in the earliest planning stages, where we are gathering information, researching and working on defining a set timeline, figuring out what aspects we'll want to focus on and what story we are trying to tell, before we move on to drafting a storyline and eventually tackling the songs itself.

Why are we doing this?

Primarily because Diomedes rarely ever gets mentioned in any modern media unlike so many other ancient greek heroes. Despite his incredibly interesting life and major role in the Iliad he gets cut from nearly all adaptations and is barely known at all, and we decided we want to change that.

On top of that we also see it as a great chance to not only expand our knowledge about Diomedes himself, but gain a more in depth understanding of the myths and tales themselves.

One thing that I keep feeling but am like....scared??? to say out loud after 2016 (and how close 2020 was lbr) is that there aren't just the happier vibes of a Dem ticket finally learning how to go on the offense, it almost feels like a total flip of where it's been since hell...2014???

The "you're being a fuckin gross weirdo" has been picking up in leftist spaces for a bit (I want to make a tally of how many commentators have joked that they should get royalties for saying it before Walz) but I never would have expected it to reach mainstream Dem messaging and for that to explosively flip the culture war vibes (so far. Man does it say a lot that I keep feeling the need to add caution into everything lmaooooo).

Harris/Walz seem to have managed the thing Democrats have struggled with since even the Obama years: messaging. And it's wild??? They figured out how to smack down culture war shit without ignoring it and without validating it with a full argument. You're being weird. Mind your own damn business.

And with that, now the wider social framing feels like the social progressives from the center to the left are on the offense. Now it's THEM who have internet brain rot weirdo vibes. Now the reactionaries are crying and being sensitive and throwing tantrums. They were before! But it feels like it's finally not being taken seriously. Now the center to left is making memes launching their ticket based on Vibes! Do you know how wild it is for the meme-vibes ticket to not be the other guy???

The backlash to the backlash feels like it's starting and I'm under no illusions that "oh sweet we won lmao we are so back" but man it feels nice to be on the side pointing and going "y'all are being fuckin weirdos."

(Knowing how to deflate a bully is definitely something Walz picked up from being a coach and teacher, but the "you're weird" and "mind your own business" are so word-for-word from how I've seen trans rights activists starting to hit back that I do wonder if he's gotten tips from his GenZ kids. He has said before that his stances on gun control changed bc his daughter talked to him and he's mentioned before that he listens to his kids a lot. So....I do wonder.)

Summary: Three years after his death, Wei Wuxian is reincarnated as an ordinary fox. The life as a fox is simple, but after losing his papa Fox, he somehow ends up in the deep forests of Cloud Recess. Kay's comments: Very weak for stories where Wei Wuxian, after his death, gets reborn, especially if he gets reborn as an animal, like in this story. Here, he grows up as a fox, but he retains his memories of the past life and soon starts to cultivate in this new form again. He also grows up close to the Cloud Recesses and soon enough, he's discovered by A-Yuan and Jingyi. More shenanigans ensure and Wei Wuxian gets loved as he should be! A very cute and creative story that I binged! Excerpt: A sharp gasp sounded and was soon pulled by small hands “NO! RELEASE IT. BAD FOX” Wei Wuxian released the rabbit and jumped hard onto a boy's chest to get away, bristling like a cat. The rabbit didn't really move from there, it just stood still while he sniffed at the snow. "Ouch!" "A-Yi, are you alright?" Another little boy ran over to the one that Wei Wuxian had just taken down. He stared at the boy, feeling familiar "A-Yuan, that fox wanted to eat the rabbit!" A-Yi accused as he pointed an accusing finger at Wei Wuxian. "And he also knocked me to the ground!" Wei Wuxian stared at the other boy, A-Yuan, his heart pounding in his chest. Both children wore Lan robes and carried small ribbons. They were absolutely adorable, but Wei Wuxian couldn't stop repeating the name A-Yuan in his head. A-Yuan, A-Yuan, A-Yuan. It wasn't possible, right? It was just a boy who looked alike and shared the same name. "It's just a baby, A-Yi" A-Yuan helped A-Yi and then turned to him "Hello" A-Yuan smiled, moving very slowly so as not to scare him."Sorry little fox, but you can't eat this rabbit, it belongs to my A-Die"
