Summary: Ingrid does your hair

The first time Ingrid meets you, the only thing she can look at is your hair.

You're absolutely tiny, dressed comfortably in a pair of overalls and fancy Adidas shoes. You actually look pretty cool for such a little kid but it's the hair that has Ingrid wincing.

It's wild.

It poofs out a lion's mane and Ingrid can just spy the singular hairband desperately trying to keep it all at bay.

You have a lot of curls and a lot of frizz. It's a wonder that Mapi's even managed to scrape it all back into a ponytail.

Ingrid's hair isn't like yours. In fact, Ingrid hasn't really met anyone with hair like yours before.

Your nickname is well suited to you as you bound over to Mapi to talk, hair bouncing with every little step.

You truly have a mane of your own.

Ingrid finds herself staring at it many times over the next few weeks. She just can't help it.

There's just something about your hair that Ingrid can't just get out of her head.

She works out what exactly it is the first time she sleeps the night at Mapi's place.

It's a day off when she wakes up again so the plan is the three of you are all going out shopping together.

It's a normal day even if she's slept over at her girlfriend's so Ingrid dresses quickly and steps out into the living room.

She can hear the crying before she even walks out.

Mapi's sitting on the sofa with you on the floor in front of her.

You're in tears, howling and sobbing as Mapi runs a brush through your hair.

She looks to be nearly in tears too.

"I know," She says," I know. I'm sorry, Cub. I'm so sorry but you know you need your hair brushed."

"Ma-Mami! Mami, no!" You sob as Mapi attempts to force the brush through your curls.

Ingrid's eyes widen in shock.

She hadn't ever considered Mapi brushed your hair dry.

It doesn't look to be working well either, not with how distressed both you and Mapi appear to be.

Your hair has always been dry for as long as Ingrid's known you but now she wonders if it's like that naturally or something else.

It's a bit bad to be snooping but Ingrid can't help herself as she slips into the bathroom to have a look.

You're still sobbing by the time she comes back and Mapi's broken down in tears too.

Ingrid sits, gently stopping Mapi's brushing with a soft hand.

You wiggle away quickly, shuffling all the way to the other side of the room by your toys.

"Mapi?"

"It's fine." Mapi furiously swipes the tears from her eyes. "We're fine. Just having a bit of trouble with her hair."

"Is it usually like this?"

"We get through it."

Mapi's putting on a brave face but Ingrid can tell it's all fake. She's in tears. You're in tears.

You're both treating this like it's normal.

"New plan," She says," Leave her hair as it is. We're going to get her some things."

"For her hair? Ingrid, I have-"

"Mapi, I can tell you're trying hard but none of that stuff in your bathroom is suited to her hair."

"My Mama said-"

"Does your mum have straight hair?"

"Yes."

"Trust me, Mapi. Curly hair needs more looking after. Come on. Get her dressed and I'll show you."

Mapi wasn't quite convinced at first but upon seeing just how large the range of curly haired products was, she firmly shut up unless it was to translate Ingrid's words to the store attendant.

Together, they manage to fill the basket with things Mapi's never even seen before and suddenly she's sitting in her own living room again watching Ingrid wrangle you back into position on the floor.

Hair brushing is your least favourite time of the day combined with saying goodbye to Bagheera and being put down for bed.

Eventually though, with the promise of baking later on in the day, you sit nicely for Ingrid with some documentary about cats playing on the tv.

"Okay."

Ingrid pulls out a bottle of spray.

"Don't brush her hair if it's dry." Ingrid sprays liberally until your hair is suitably wet and is no longer big and bushy. "So we've got a wide-toothed comb which I think we should use for more everyday kind of brushing but we're going to use this-" She holds up the new detangling brush "-To get all the knots out."

Mapi watches attentively as Ingrid separates a chunk of your hair and starts at the bottom rather than the top.

It's a bit weird to you as Ingrid glides the brush through your hair. She doesn't tug or pull like usually happens so it's a bit strange for you.

Hair brushing has always been a very bad experience for you and Mami. There's usually a lot of tears and screaming and crying but it's still a lot better than when Abuela did your hair once.

She complained a lot when it happened and said mean things like your hair was 'untameable' and 'horrible to brush'. You think she meant it in a joking way because she and Abuelo were laughing and teasing each other but you can still remember the way she said that she might tell your Mami to 'cut it all off and start again'.

You know she was joking around and she wasn't actually going to tell Mami that but she still said it and you still remembered it.

She said that if you were any older than she would sit you in front of her and just straighten it all.

You love your mane though, even though it hurts to brush and it's bushy and big.

Mami loves your mane too, she's told you so lots of times. She says it's very beautiful and makes you look fierce like a real life lion.

You think Ingrid must love your hair too because she's being so gentle and so nice with it. Her hands are soft and the brush doesn't pull or snag much.

You like the feeling of her brushing your hair and your eyes droop a little.

It's almost as nice as getting back scratches.

Mapi sits in awe behind you as Ingrid massages some moisturising product into your now tamed hair.

"We could probably just put her hair up in braids to help protect it when she's going about her day," Ingrid says," It'll keep it nice and neat and no knots until we get home."

"You're good at this," Mapi says. She's still slightly in shock at how well Ingrid's doing with this all.

"I..." Ingrid's face turns red. "I did a lot of research. Her hair is so nice. I want her to love it."

Mapi laughs a little, looking down at where you're fast asleep, leaning back against Ingrid's legs.

"If you keep sending her to sleep every time you brush it then I'm sure she will."

LEE HEESEUNG — You had been watching him interact with the engenes for the past 20 minutes, watching as he made flirtatious jokes and held their hands. Pushing back the uncontrollable pout on your lips, you huffed and dodged his kiss when you arrived home. Bewildered by your indifference, he pestered you about it, trying to bribe you to tell him. "Why are you mad? Just tell me." He pressed, burying his head between your neck, pressing ticklish kisses on your collarbone. "Go talk to your fans." You pouted, shrugging him off and stalking into the kitchen. An amused smile grew on his lips as he bit back laughter at your childish behavior.

"Are the engenes really the cause of why you're mad." He questioned, catching your arm before you could escape his grasp. Feeling embarrassed, you refused to answer. He leaned down and pressed kisses on your lips, each one getting longer than first. Pulling away, he trailed kisses down your neck. "Engenes should be jealous of you," He began between kisses. "Because you have me, and I love you." "More than you love the engenes?" You huffed, feeling your anger deplete. He let out a breathy chuckle, scooping you up in his arms and moving to the bedroom. "Of course."

PARK JONGSEONG — Staring daggers at the waitress, you watched Jay charmingly smile at her and engage in what he called polite conversation, but to you was just straight up flirting. You could see that the waitress had a clear crush on him by the way she batted her eyelashes at him repeatedly and the way she hovered around your table like a lost fly. "Baby, where do you want to go after this?" He asked, finishing the wine in his glass. You muttered a half-hearted reply which he was behavior he was not used to seeing from you. Moving to place a hand on yours, he tried to read your face.

"What's wrong?" He questions, worried about your silence. "I don't know. Ask the waitress, she seems to be bored and waiting for a conversation with you." You complained, picking at your food like a 5-year-old. He smiled his charming smile at you, and you huffed even more, turning to look at him. "Just stop doing that smile to everyone." You complained, pushing down the corners of his mouth. "Now she's probably going to fall in love with you and you'll leave me for her ass and personality." You pouted. Leaning over, he pressed a kiss on your pouty lips. That single action caused your lips to twitch upwards as you tried to bite back a smile. He gave you a few more, leaving his lips stained with your red lip product. Getting out your wet wipes, you moved to wipe his lips but was stopped by him dodging your hand. "I have to show the waitress I have a girlfriend, so my pretty girl doesn't get jealous." He said, teasing you with a grin. "I hate you." You replied, feigning indifference, but actually pleased at his stained lips. "I love you too." He answered. ✶ more under the cut !

SIM JAEYUN — Jake had been laying on the floor, playing with Layla for the past hour, leaving you to relish in your growing hatred to a dog you used to love before. "Should we take Layla out for a walk?" He asked, sitting on the bed beside you. Without replying, you turned away from him, playing games on your phone. He shook your leg, immediately noticing something was wrong. "Babe?" He asked. "Go take her by yourself, since you love her more than me." You mumbled, sinking into your blanket barrier. He stilled for a moment, until he slid into the bed with you. "Are you jealous?" His hot breath swirled at your neck as amusement lined his voice.

"Why would I be jealous of a dog?" You retorted, even though you were indeed jealous of a dog. Knowing how much your pride meant to you, he stifled his giggles, which resulted in you huffing even more and moving out of his grasp. You felt him get out of the bed and heard the door open and close after. Thinking he left, you scoffed and buried yourself in the blanket, thinking about ways to get Layla out of the room. An arm startled you out of your thinking as you were moved to your back. Removing the blanket from your head, you found his eyes gazing down at you. "I was reading something," He started, caging you between his arms. "The art of fixing things with your girlfriend, I think it was called." Clearly, you knew that wasn't a thing, but you listened anyway. Leaning down, he caught your ear with his mouth, moving down to your neck. "Step one, was give her a kiss." Before you could reply, his lips collided with yours messily. Pushing him away, you struggled to catch your breath. "Where's Layla?" You questioned, knowing very well that she would come in between what you were about to do. He grinned his signature boyish grin. "She's on her walk."

PARK SUNGHOON — "Does he have to be so pretty?" You complained silently as your date was continuously interrupted by fans and onlookers stopping him to take a photo with him or get his autograph. "We should go to Tifanny and Co next," He started, excited after meeting his fans. "They just said that a new collection was coming out." Without replying, you excused yourself to the bathroom, muttering pouty complaints to yourself, Sunghoon smiling to himself at your irritation, finding it cute that you were jealous.

To make you even more jealous, he chatted about the fans on the drive home fighting back a smile at your pouty replies. You had been so immersed in your phone that you didn't even notice when he pulled up in an empty driveway. He picked up the phone in your hands and put it in one of his pockets, patting his lap afterwards. Pulling a face, you reluctantly moved to his lap, avoiding his gaze. "What's wrong, love? Feeling jealous?" He teased, moving you to face him. "No." You mumbled through evidently pouting lips. His hand traced the fabric on your jeans, moving his hand from your hips to your waist. Pulling you closer to his body, he pressed a peck on your neck, holding it there before moving to your collarbone. "What do you want?" You complained, pushing away from him. Your action was short-lived as he pulled you back, peppering more kisses on your neck. "You." Dancing around the border of temptation, he kissed everywhere but your lips. After he pulled away, your pout increased. "Why did you stop?" He displayed his perfect teeth through a grin. "I see you've forgiven me. Say please and I'll consider." He teased. "Kiss me and I'll forgive you." In an instant, his lips were on yours; the action of forgiveness becoming messier. Pulling away, you slid off his lap. "I'll forgive you now."

✧. ┊    No one’s a stranger to the familiar feeling of coming back down from a successful peak, the sudden feeling of clouded thoughts or the slow burn-out of your sociality or productivity being a familiar dull sting to your body and mind.

And sometimes you can’t understand just why you have to burn out, and with that comes along frustrations, anger, the tantrums inside your mind when nothing goes your way when you’ve already had a bad day.

Aohi’s world dulls to grey for a little while, the exhausting schedule and the upcoming recording for memorabilia took a lot out of her.

All she wanted was to sleep, maybe for a week straight, if she could, she’d hibernate like a bear. Aohi knows she can’t though, engenes would miss her too much.

Despite her frustrations with the slightly wrong tones or the wrong words being sung out, she trudges on, continuing to work, to rewrite, to practice.

She’s repaid by the loss of her voice, and recording’s been pulled back a week later due to the sudden situation. Aohi sits in her seat speechless when her manager explains it on the way to the studio.

“But then, why am I going if I’m being put on vocal rest?” Aohi’s voice croaks out. In a comical way, she sounded like a Justin Bieber when he was in his teens, cracking and going airy from time to time.

“I didn’t want you to come in either, but the studio was insistent on it,” Aohi groans, despite how hurtful it was on her throat. “Trust me, I tried to fight for a day off, all I could do was move your session to a later time tomorrow.”

“I can’t even do anything at the studio, the whole point of a vocal rest is so I could rest!”

“First off, stop yelling, don’t use your voice-“ Her manager looked up at the rear view mirror, shooting her a glance that told Aohi to fix her attitude.

"Second, just get through this recording, it'll be over before you know it.."

Aohi just rolled her eyes, feeling already irked that she had to come in today. Aohi stared out the window as she ended up tuning out her manager’s voice and locking herself inside her mind.

There wasn’t much to do for her especially when she had a sore throat, even if she could, Aohi doubts her current health would even be able to keep up with anything.

“Aohi, let’s go.” Her manager could be heard unbuckling her seatbelt, Aohi following. Aohi grabbed her phone and opened her car door, squinting at the bright sun.

Her instant response to the sudden rays was to put up her hoodie, entering the studio.

“Batsy!” Sunoo chirps, reaching for the girl before any of the other guys could call for her, and with her call, Aohi gravitates towards Sunoo, his arms taking her in like a cuddly bear.

“I missed you..” Aohi mumbled into his clothes, and Sunoo just hums and kisses her forehead, “gonna keep with the PDA or are we actually recording?” Xiulin amusingly spoke from behind the two.

And it would’ve been funny, if Aohi hadn’t hissed back at her. “Unnie, respectfully shut up.” Aohi replied with a hoarse voice, and Sunoo was taken aback by her sudden reply. Xiulin must’ve been as well, looking at Aohi with widened eyes.

Aohi’s furrowed brows seemed to soften after realizing the stunned faces across the room, and she sighs, pulling away from Sunoo.

“Sorry, unnie… i just… don’t feel well.” Aohi walks into the studio booth trying to rubbing her temple with a frown. Xiulin was still waiting out her aftershock as she just watched her dongsaeng walk away.

“What’s her problem?” Ri-ki pointed his thumb at Aohi inside the booth, looking towards the boys who looked equally confused. “I know manager-nim said she wasn’t feeling well… but she’s never snapped at me like that before.” Xiulin frowns at the booth door, rubbing at her neck in discomfort.

“It’s okay noona, I’m sure Aohi just didn’t feel up to the teasing, you know how she is..” Jungwon tries to ease Xiulin’s feelings, patting the older girl’s back to comfort her.

“We’ll talk to her, don’t worry.” Sunoo added, giving Xiulin a gentle and reassuring smile as the group trailed into the booth.

Aohi sat in one of the couches, trying keep to herself, quietly playing on her phone. The boys looked to each other, trying to figure out how to approach the girl without already irking her more than she already was.

“Heeseung-ssi, Xiulin-ssi, we can record your lines now.” One of the producers called the eldest of the hyung and maknae line to come in, and Xiulin glanced at Aohi, who glances at her and Heeseung.

Aohi quickly darts her gaze back onto her phone as she tries to focus on her games, trying to get the day to go by faster.

Xiulin sighs, looking towards Heeseung who was already waiting by the booth, he mouths to her as if to tell her, that the boys will handle it while they’re gone, and not to worry too much.

Jay decides to make a move towards Aohi, sitting beside her with caution. Aohi squirms at the sudden dip in the couch, but refuses to look up anyway.

“Batsy.. look at me, baby..” Jay encouraged, his hands gently reaching for her tense ones. “You want to tell me what’s wrong?.. we just want to help, Aohi, baby.” Aohi feels rather suffocated in Jay’s hold, and she knows he doesn’t mean to cage her in, but she feels like she can’t breathe.

Aohi shakes her head, trying to pull away from his hold, and Jay’s eyebrow twitches, his first indication that something was worse than just annoyance or tiredness. She mumbled something that Jay couldn’t decipher, he leans even closer.

Jay knew that even if Aohi was annoyed, she’d never turn down any of his hugs, even going as far to tell him that he’s the best at cuddling besides Ri-ki.

“Look at me, Batsy.” Jay reaches for her face, his gentle fingers barely touching her cheeks when Aohi slaps them away. “I told you to leave me alone!” Aohi’s voice croaks loudly, and Jake stands up from his spot in the room.

Her hand reaches to push Jay away, who seemed hurt at the way Aohi raises her voice at him. Despite being scolded by Aohi before, it never sounded worse like it did at this moment.

Aohi’s hand is stopped by Jake’s hand around her wrist, and her attention’s turned from Jay to Jake, trying to pull her wrist away from him.

“Let go!”

“Aohi, that’s enough! We’re just trying to help you!” Jake holds her tighter, and Aohi squeezes her eyes tight, letting out a sob. “I don’t want your help!” Aohi stands up from her spot, shoving Jake away.

Jake toppled over a few instruments, hissing at the impact. “Hyung!” Jungwon and Sunghoon quickly stood up, rushing to Jake’s side. Aohi’s breath hitches, and she sniffles, glancing around, Sunoo and Ri-ki looking at her with disbelief.

Aohi could feel her heart beating with intensity as she only looks for her only escape, running out of the room to the front door.

She has no idea where to run, but her legs certainly aren’t stopping, Aohi doesn’t register which way she goes, turning all sorts of corners, and the sun blinding her.

Soon enough, her body stops running, and Aohi has no clue where she is, she sits on a random bench, the area seemed deserted, some patches of weed growing through the brick path she ran down on.

Aohi brings her legs up on the bench, and she remembers that she’s left her phone at the studio with everyone else, and the air doesn’t do much to calm her.

She digs her face into her knees, and she could feel the familiar sting of tears in her eyes and she squeals into her knees, as if angry that she’s crying.

Aohi has no idea why she’s been so upset lately, maybe she needed to be alone for a while, or maybe Aohi felt like the world hasn’t been so nice to her lately. She’s tired, so tired.

Aohi just wanted to rest for a little while, and she can’t do that when her company wants her to go to these recordings despite putting her on vocal rest.

Aohi can’t afford to go home right now either, for one, she has no clue where she is and Aohi knows that she needs a ride to even get back to the apartments.

She only whimpers, and lets herself cry into her arms, pitiful sobs leaving like a lullaby from her lips. Aohi’s back shakes as her sobs continue, and she realizes that she can’t even stop herself or quiet herself.

And in an ironic way, the world sends a somewhat comforting breeze to her side, despite being certainly mean to her the couple of days, Aohi takes the breeze with gusto, sniffling as she’s blanketed with the wind.

Aohi cries her pretty little heart out in a deserted part of this random park, and she cries and cries until her eyes tire out, Aohi can feel the creeping tiredness loom over her as her eyes don’t fight the urge to close, to get sleep.

She just lets it happen as her eyes blanket her vision with darkness, and she sniffles once more, the need to sleep heavy and she doesn’t fight.

The sun’s starting to come down, and Aohi can barely register the muffled call of her name. Aohi could feel the approaching headache from dehydration, obviously from crying her eyes out the previous hours, but she looks up anyway.

“Aohi.. wake up, damn it..” Ri-ki curses, and he sits beside her balled figure on the bench, he runs his hands through his hair, sighing out of worry and concern.

“nini…” Aohi mumbled out, and her voice is still coarse, maybe even worse than it was the last time Ri-ki heard it. Ri-ki stops himself from softening at the nickname she calls him, one that she got from other fan accounts on Twitter, thinking it was adorable.

“Do you know how fucking worried we were?…” Ri-ki breathlessly spoke, and he gently placed a hand on her cheek, his eyebrows furrowed. Aohi whimpered, digging her cheek into his palm anyway.

“I’m sorry, nini…” Ri-ki curses under his breath, and he takes off his jacket, placing it over Aohi’s body, he felt the alarming heat of her body on his palm, he stands up from the bench and takes his arms under Aohi’s knees and supporting her back.

He lifts her up with a huff, carrying Aohi bridal style. “Don’t think just because you’re sick means you’re off the hook for running like that.” Ri-ki walks down the familiar path, the sun was going down and soon enough, he won’t be able to see the path out of the deserted park.

“You worried the fuck out of everyone… Jay and Jake were out in the cold for hours, you left your phone so we couldn’t even…” Ri-ki blinked his tears away, the worry and the thought that something could’ve happened to Aohi overwhelming him.

“We couldn’t track you down, and who knows where the hell you could’ve gone?…” Aohi, despite being too tired out of her mind and sleepy, felt guilty anyways, she felt stupid for running then, and she still felt stupid now.

“I don’t know what I would’ve done if I couldn’t find you… hell, what would we tell the engenes? you hate disappointing them..” Ri-ki grits his teeth, it takes a little while for them to regroup with the others, and Ri-ki had gone silent from walking for a bit and he finally walks out to a familiar path, seeing the boys and Xiulin waiting anxiously by the van.

“You found her!" Heeseung sighed in relief, jogging up to the two, Aohi seemed to knock out on the walk, and Heeseung reaches to check on her.

"She's burning.." Heeseung curses, and he walks to the van and opens the door, "Let's get her home before she gets worse." Sunoo agrees, nodding as he climbs into the vehicle, helping Ri-ki climb in with Aohi in his hold.

"Careful.. she's going to bump her head.." Sunoo whispers, placing his hands on her head, looking at Aohi with worry in his eyes.

The boys and Xiulin are silently driven home by their staff, and they all apologize to the staff member for keeping them waiting as Ri-ki, bowed, before walking up to the apartment.

"Ri-ki-yah.. I can carry her.." Sunghoon offered from beside him, and he shakes his head, just continuing to walk up to their dormitory, which Jungwon opens for the youngest.

"Wait! You should bring her to our dorm, I can't take care of her from your dorms.." Xiulin voiced, and the boys turn to her, "Noona, don't worry about it, I'm sure you're tired, me and the hyungs will take care of her." Ri-ki shoots their eldest girl a reassuring look, and Xiulin can't help but sigh.

"But-" Jay shakes his head, asking Xiulin not to fight them on it, "You can trust us, Xiu, don't worry." Xiulin softly frowns, but she couldn't go up against seven boys, even if she wanted to.

"Okay, just.. make sure she gets some rest..." Xiulin reaches over and places a small kiss on Aohi's burning forehead, a quiet goodbye as she recovers in the boys' dorms.

The boys and Xiulin part from the stairs, and Aohi's brought into the boys' dorms, they all have separate rooms now, the countless complaints from singer to manager had worked, and given them some sort of privacy.

Ri-ki makes a quick move to place her onto his bed, tucking her with record-breaking speed, trying to keep her warm, feeling Aohi shiver all throughout the car ride.

Despite his worry, he still feels sour about earlier, knowing Aohi wasn't feeling well, and her mood was not best, did not excuse the fact that she ran off, and for hours they couldn't find her.

"I'll go grab a rag for her fever.." Sunoo whispers from beside Ri-ki, patting the youngest's back in comfort before leaving the room. The rest of the boys seemed to follow after Sunoo, quiet excuses pouring from all of their lips.

"We'll get dinner started, make her some food.." Jay and Jungwon walked out together, and Sunghoon runs his hand through his face, "We'll give you some space.." Heeseung pulls Sunghoon with him, who seems hesitant to leave Aohi's side.

"How could you be so reckless, batsy?" Ri-ki whispered, his tone scolding. For once, he was babying Aohi without any complaint. Well, not that she could anyway. "I thought something had happened to you.. and I wouldn't of been there..."

Ri-ki sat by her side for a while, he repositioned to the ground, gently rubbing his thumb against Aohi's palm. A calming gesture for both of them. He quietly watches Aohi's sleeping figure, and despite the underlying cringe from him, feeling creepy for watching her, he couldn't help but worry, truly.

"...I would've lost it.. batsy, I need you," Ri-ki whispers, and it seems like every time they were by themselves, he starts to speak in Japanese, like he's at his most vulnerable with her. "I need you like water, my love.." He continues his sentence, hoping she'll awake for a little bit.

Like a miracle, Aohi twitches from her sleep, and she lets out a quiet groan, her eyes fluttering from her nap, and she's faced with the familiar ceiling of Ri-ki's room. She calls for him with a broken voice.

"Nini..." And Ri-ki makes a move, sitting up on his knees to coo at her silently, "I'm here, lovely.." He feels Aohi's hand squeeze his, and he feels himself relax. Ri-ki is relieved, comforted by Aohi's presence.

"Why.. would you go look for me..?" Aohi croaks from her spot, looking at Ri-ki with a hurt expression, and he's almost confused on why she would ask such a question. "Why wouldn't we?.." Ri-ki tilts his head, his thumb makes comforting swipes at the back of Aohi's hand.

"You could've gotten sick.. stupid.." Aohi tries to flick up at Ri-ki's forehead, and he shakes his head, making her drop her hand. "I don't care about getting sick, I care about finding you." He replies, and Aohi sighs, turning her head from Ri-ki to the wall.

"I hate when you say stuff like that.." Aohi whispers, and Ri-ki is confused, sure, his words would fluster the girl, but her? Hating such words from him when she was as affectionate as him?

"Why? You and I both know it's true," Ri-ki responds, and Aohi makes a move to almost throw a slight action of defiance. "And that's what I hate about it, I hate that you're willing to break your back as long as I'm with you.."

"And it's the same for the other boys, and I love that you love me so much," Ri-ki listens, despite his dislike for where the conversation was heading, "and I love you all the same, if not more, but I hate that you'd disregard your own well-being for me.. I wish I wasn't that important to you.. any of you."

"How could you say that?" Ri-ki asks, standing up from his spot and sitting on the bed, and Aohi sits up from her spot, "Ri-ki, how could I not? Hell, you gave me your jacket even when you knew it was cold.."

"You're always bending over backwards for me, and I wish you'd be a little more concerned with yourself." Aohi looks towards him and Ri-ki furrows his eyebrows. "You're the same way."

Aohi stays silent, "It's the way I am.." Aohi fiddles with her fingers, looking down at her lap. "And so what? You think we should just take and take, and you get nothing in return for yourself?" Ri-ki assumes, and Aohi looks to argue, to deny, but words don't come out of her mouth.

Ri-ki waits for a reply from Aohi and when she doesn't seem to speak, he continues. "What's the point of us dating you if we'll just be selfish while you break like this?" Aohi still doesn't reply, and she knows there's nothing she could say to fix her words, and what she meant.

"Are we even your boyfriends that way?" Aohi finally moves from her spot, "Of course you are! I just don't want you to be so consumed with being with me that you just.." Aohi brings her hands to her face, "It feels like you have to take care of me all of the time, and I'm just.."

"I don't want any of you to help me because it's not your job, I should be able to do this myself!" Aohi sobbed, and Ri-ki feels angrier than before.

“if you didn’t want any of us to help you when you’re crumbling like this then why are you still dating us?!” Ri-ki yells, and it’s the first time in a while that Aohi had heard him so loud.

Aohi blinks at him and for once she’s surprised of the way Ri-ki stared at her with angry tears. Ri-ki was angry at her.

“Are you angry at me?…” She whispers, and Aohi doesn’t miss the way her voice quivers as she asks this to Ri-ki who turns away from her.

“You don’t know how much it hurts when we see you like this… when I see you like this.” Ri-ki sobbed, his fists grab at his hair, and Aohi makes a move to stop him, knowing it’ll hurt.

“I feel like the worst fucking boyfriend when I see you fall apart like dust and I can’t help you.”

Aohi doesn’t say a word more, unable to reply. Her tears cascaded down her cheeks and she pulls Ri-ki into her arms. “I’m sorry.” She repeats like a mantra.

And it seems like Ri-ki breaks alongside Aohi, and she starts to think that maybe the world was a little too cruel on both of them, or maybe she was being too cruel on him, on all of them.

how could she fix this now?

"I'm sorry nini... I didn't mean to make you feel like that.. I just... feel awful and I've been too cruel.." Aohi holds Ri-ki tightly, and she could feel her hoodie starts to dampen with the boy's tears.

"I'm so sorry... I feel like the worst girlfriend to you... you don't even know nini.." Aohi hugs Ri-ki like she could never let go, and she knows she would never.

"Then help me know, I want to, let me understand, let me help.." Ri-ki begged from her, and Aohi feels worse than she already did.

Aohi places a gentle kiss on his forehead, continuing her apologies. Ri-ki seems to cry for forever he felt like, he just couldn't stop, and his fingers had gone red from how tightly he held Aohi in his arms.

"You don't deserve such a cruel girl like me.." She whispers, lifting Ri-ki's face, wiping at the streaks on his cheeks, and with a quiet voice, Ri-ki speaks, "I want you anyway, I'll always want to be with you, even if you don't."

"How did I score someone like you, hm, nini?" Aohi laughed through her own tears. "I don't know, but you're never getting rid of me." Ri-ki replies, before taking Aohi's cheeks in his hands and laying a gentle kiss on her lips.

The two's lips intertwined like perfect puzzle pieces, Aohi's hand reaching to cup Ri-ki's in a warmth he'll never deny. Aohi thinks that she could never get used to how warm Ri-ki's lips were, always comforting her in ways she could never do herself.

The two pull away, and Aohi almost chases after Ri-ki, already missing him so close to her.

"...I love you, so much." Aohi spoke after a while, using her hoodie sleeve to wipe at her nose, and Ri-ki laughs, grabbing a tissue from his bedside, "Don't wipe it on your hoodie, batsy.."

"I really do love you though, you know that right?" Ri-ki smiles, and nods, wiping at Aohi's tears. "aigoo... you big baby.." Ri-ki kisses at her nose, and Aohi squeals at the ticklish feeling.

"You cried too! I'm not the only big baby!" Aohi retorts, gently slapping Ri-ki's shoulder, the two continued to giggle for a little before they quiet down, the only evidence of their silly behaviour being their smiles.

"Don't ever be scared to crumble, we'll be here to pick you back up... just like you are for us.." Ri-ki hugs her tightly one more time, and Aohi's never felt as loved as she was with the boys, and it makes her realize how much she could never actually live without these boys.

"So.. how does soup sound?"

"Sounds lovely, nini."

SYPNOSIS: ivy has been invited to do a photoshoot for Dior. not only will she be doing a photoshoot. as a promotional video, she would be doing a small q&a and a 'What's In my bag' video. how will it go?

ivy was invited to do a photoshoot for dior. it was actually ivy's first time going through such schedule. there have been multiple offers given to her however, the company ultimately never agreed to sign the contract.

so this was ivy's first ever chance to do so.

"are you nervous?" the interviewer behind the camera asks. ivy laughs a little.

"a little. this is my first time I'm without enhypen so it's a little awkward."

ivy waves to the camera, "hello. this ivy from the kpop group ENHYPEN. today, I will be doing a Q&A along with showing what's in my bag."

she brings out her dior bag, it wasn't a super huge bag just a simple shoulder bag.

"actually, I just recently got this bag, and I was soooo obsessed with it. I own a couple of bags from all the sponsors we have, like prada. however, this is the bag I've been using most. I even bring it to practices because it has enough space to fit in everything I need."

ivy pulls out a pouch. she opens it. "oh okay, there is a Polaroid of enhypen. right! this pouch is where I keep all the Polaroids i took. hence there is a bunch. I was going to put them in the scrap booking journal I have."

— "how long have you been doing scrap booking?"

"mmm, for as long as I was 10. I liked keeping memories. my mom was also someone who loved scrap booking hence she kinda influenced me to take up on the hobby."

ivy shows one of the Polaroids. "this Polaroid is something that I treasure most because this was the first time heeseung and me ever had a friend anniversary. friendsary as I call it."

— "you and heeseung have been friends for almost 10 years. how do you two manage not falling for each other?"

"simple. we are idols. it would ruin our career." she laughs. "I'm kidding. honestly, it is a taboo subject to talk about as idols. between a girl and guy, surely people would think there is something going on. for me and heeseung...we kinda just grew naturally comfortable with each other. we are best friends. friends who care about each other. so I don't think we could ever cross that line."

while it was partially true, she had to keep her relationship a secret. otherwise, a huge scandal would happen. ivy couldn't do that to the group.

she pulls out the next item, her makeup pouch. "oh, I kinda forgot i had this here. this is my makeup pouch. all the essentials."

they showed all of her makeup products that she uses and bought.

— "do you normally wear makeup?"

"on normal days when I don't have schedule, I don't really bother." she giggles. "if I actually bother, I'll just put on light makeup. maybe like lip balm and a little eyeliner."

she pulls out her casing for her jewelry. "ah, this. sunoo actually bought for me this because he saw how my necklaces always got tangled up hence I have this." she points to the ring, "this ring is actually a friendship ring between me and jay. I think ENGENEs have seen me wear it a lot."

"oh and this necklace. a Tiffany and Co. sunghoon bought this for me because he knows I like wearing simple necklaces. it has mine and his initial on it." she points out.

— "you seem very close to your members. have you ever thought about dating them?"

"oh umm, no. like as I mentioned before for heeseung. I don't think I could date any of them as they are like family to me. they are people that I care about platonically hence there wouldn't be any romance in that aspect." she answers respectfully. she knew something was up. it was suspicious of them to ask this.

she eyes the staff discreetly. it seemed like they were smirking at her. they spoke to each other as they discussed the next question to ask her. ivy just tries to focus on her main task. she pulls out the next item she had in her bag, her phone, tablet and 2 sets of earbuds.

"as I'm travelling, these two are my biggest essentials. I'm constantly on my phone and tablet as I write songs on them. I also alternate between the two buds. if one of them dies after I use it, I can charge it and use the other one. this also happens a lot in the plane so I bring both of them."

— "as enhypen travels around a lot and you guys are constantly at the airport, what do you do during your free time in the plane?"

okay, decent and okay question. ivy gives them a warm smile, "we usually catch up on the very much needed sleep as our schedules are packed. though it didn't directly say their schedules were pretty much fucked up, in a way she wanted to poke at belift for making them go on tours and practices a lot.

— "do you and the boys usually sit together?"

okay, kinda weird discreet question again. "umm, most of the times. we usually sit two people so we're paired up. most of the times I sit with heeseung and ni-ki."

with no further questions, ivy continues to pull out her last item from her bag.

"this is my favourite perfume. it's the miss dior eau de parfum. I've actually been using this since debut as my mom gifted this to me after I was announced as part of the debut line up."

— "that is really sweet! are your parents also close to the other boys?"

"yes, of course. my mom really treats the boys like their kids and my dad says that he has 7 sons that we wished he had." ivy giggles a little. "I do think that would be a lot for my parents if they had 9 kids. my parents already had a hard time taking care of me and my younger brother since we were rowdy kids back then."

ivy remembers, she pulls out something from her bag and it was a cute keychain. "oh, I just remembered about this. so recently, my younger brother had visited seoul with my mom. I had also tagged along with them and we got matching keychains. these were handmade so it's even more special."

– "as an older sister, do you and your younger brother ever fight?"

"well, instead of fighting. me and my brother used to argue a lot. there were disagreements, and sometimes we hurt each other. in the end, we do make-up. i will say, between me and my younger brother, our sibling relationship has definitely got better as to compared to when we were kids. maybe it's just that we are both adults/almost adults. hence, we realised that maybe we should grow up and cherish our time together. I don't see my younger brother often since he stays in America with my family."

– "thank you for today, ivy. is there anything else that you would like to add?"

after the director says so, ivy's lets out a sigh of relief quietly. somehow, this was even more nerve-wracking than performing in front of thousands of ENGENEs. she thanked and bowed to all the staff that helped with the photoshoot and video. she had to keep the sweet idol persona as she didn't want any of the staff to think she was rude in any way. even if the staff that asked the questions were a little suspicious.

ivy walks over to the changing room. she notices heeseung waiting there with a bouquet of flowers. she turns around to check on the door to see if it was open. one of their makeup stylist shuts the door and ivy hugs heeseung.

"hi pretty, how was the photoshoot?" heeseung's sweet voice resonates.

"mmm, it was good. I was satisfied with the photos. I think ENGENEs will like it."

"so this might beat the bite me concept photos?" heeseung teases.

"oh, I don't think so. that photoshoot was like top tier. ENGENEs were calling me goddess." ivy sassily flips her hair. heeseung laughs.

"yes, baby. you are a goddess. my goddess." heeseung pecks her lips. ivy wraps her arms around heeseung's neck.

"do we have any other schedule after this?"

"mmm, we have to go Indonesia for our fate plus tour."

"so airport."

"mhm, have you packed yet?"

"no. it's been hectic." heeseung pats her head.

"I'll help you, how about that?"

"yeah. that would be great."

and so they went back to their dorm and got ready for their flight to Indonesia.

IMO... the boy most likely to use some random no-name brand from Marshall's would be:

MOST LIKELY: Jake - tbh I feel like jake would slap anything on his face if you told him to. he's truly down for whatever. he doesn't strike me as the kind of dude who is super picky about his skincare... if you saw the vogue korea what's in my bag video, you may have noticed that jake quite literally seemed as if he'd never seen a dr jart product in his life. I do believe he'd be the first to pick up some random cute packaging no-name mask excitedly and claim his skin is super tolerant of any ingredient Heeseung - I feel like he'd be willing to try something if you really saif it was good... and would try it with minimal attitude once he stealthily looked it up online to see the mostly positive reviews. however, you better hope that product doesn't give him a reaction or he will be super annoyed with you for days afterwards </3 Jungwon - I just feel like he's so willing to do whatever makes you smile, even if he's a little unsure about it. he'd try out some no-name skincare if it's what you wanna do... but he'd probably give you some side eyes over a couple of the products... but I don't think he's actually saying anything! just givin you a look. Would probably see how the product impacts your skin for a few days before giving it a try... LMAO. Jay - Jay is just along for the ride. If you wanna do some random esfolio mask together, he'll just quietly go along with it... but he may make a few snarky comments about your selections. I can even see him spot testing some of the products on his arm before putting them on his face. tbh jay heeseung and jungwon are interchangable here to me Niki - I feel like Niki would trust your judgment if you vouched strongly for a random Marshall's product... like yes maybe he'd be a bit skeptical but he'd try it once if you really convinced him. he seems like the type who really wants to be "on top" of what's trending/what'll be the next big thing, so I feel like he'd relish an opportunity to stumble onto something new at Marshall's to recommend to his hyungs. Sunghoon - I feel like Sunghoon has sensitive skin. I have no evidence for this but I feel it in my gut. I just feel like he would be skeptical to try anything other than his tried and true. This man is a loyal patient of Dr. Jart, I feel it. I do feel like even if you picked up a Dr. Jart that had found its way to Marshall's, he'd be paranoid it somehow was expired. Sunoo - This man is so particular about what goes on his skin and in his body. I see the way he be chugging vitamins. He even has a skincare fridge... I see this man as only using the absolute best, and rightfully so! he needs to stay in tip-top shape and can't get any wacky reactions from a tjmaxx product! The Barça season 2023/24 - femení edition

At long last, the femení edition. I couldn't not do it for the history makers!

Analysis of goals, transfers & injuries

Note: Club Friendlies are not counted, considering it's really just a meeting of teams that don't usually meet. It's not a competition

Warning: There could be inaccuracies, for that I am sorry

Goals

4 TROPHIES! FINALLY THEY DEFEATED LYON;

As you can see, the ladies closed out yet another season with over 200 goals scored! In Liga F alone 135!;

Salma is the total topscorer, whilst also being the topscorer in 3 of the 4 competitions;

Caroline is the Liga F Pichichi for the 1st time ever since transferring to Barça! An amazing season for her turns out to be very fruitful;

Fridolina who missed 7 months came up to score a whooping 6;

Marta & Ona scored the most out of all defenders. 9 for Marta is incredibly well done. Ona definetly didn't miss her mark in her 1st season back with 7;

7 players with double digit goals, including Alexia who despite missing 5 months scored 10 more than last season;

Many youngsters also marked 1 or more goal, with Vicky being the outlier with 9!

Transfers

Some of the transfers are loans;

Pere Romeu becomes the new coach. He was part of Jona's staff. The cycle of Barça coach is a long involved staff member thus continues;

The departure of some was expected (Asisat, Geyse, Laia), however the 2 that are still a bitter pill were Ana-Maria & Nuria's. With how little notice both were sent away. I do think they learnt their lesson considering Jona, Mario & Sandra's sent-off;

There weren't many new transfers ahead of the season. 2 of these were even for Barça B - Onyeka & Giulia;

However there are 2 incoming transfers that are pre-negociated (?) in the form of Ewa Pajor & Ellie Roebuck. Pajor would be a striker which Barça hasn't had since Oshoala left mid-season. Roebuck would be more of a Cata stand-in as Cata officially becomes the no.1. I'd assume Ellie would be rotated with her;

Then there's also the rumour of Laia Aleixandri coming home - like Ona, she is also a La Masia product. This would be crucial given the CB-crisis that was this past season was horrendous. As well as the fact that Laia is a decent player: very fast on & off the ball & much like Patri willing to fight all the time;

It is painful but I say goodbye to Asisat, Sandra, Jonatan & Mariona with the utmust gratitude

Injuries

Which is what I'll highlight here first: the CB crisis; Irene for parts of the year was ill, Mapi had a whooping total of 3 injuries with her most severe putting her out of action for 200 days & Jana herself was out for 7 months. This resulted in relying heavily on Martina Fernandez - a Barça B player - & Ingrid Engen - a MIDFIELDER. Unfortunately this came at the cost for Martina at the very end of the season;

With Ona & Martina being the final additions to equipo lesionado, Ingrid is potentially the final player left to not have been injured. This is evident in the high amount of minutes to she played. It is crucial that Barça could close the deal on free agent Laia A. if they want so that Ingrid can be rotated from time to time;

Mapi, Fridolina, Alexia & Jana missed a lot of months to play & were greatly missed;

Caroline this season was out for less long than other times. This was usually with Norway;

September, October & November were by far the worst months;

Aitana & Bruna played through discomfort.

Other highlights

Ingrid whilst not reflected in the G/A had a very stable season. Goddamn this woman played CB despite not even being a defender. She played a lot of minutes & she did it well;

Alexia & Frido's comebacks!!!;

The amount of Barça B players that got a significant amount of time is also very pleasant. They all had a moment to shine;

Jana & Bruna finally recovering for real;

The highly anticipated return of Mapi;

Irene lifting the UWCL for a 2nd time... having defeated Lyon by a strong performance... in her home that is the Basque country <3;

Cata inevitable number change from 13 to 1!

FRAGMENT (stylized as FRAG;MENT) is a fictional, six-member Japanese-Korean boy group under WANDER STUDIO, a fictional Japan-based subsidiary of HYBE labels. The group made their debut on April 18, 2024 with their EP “I Passed You On A Warm Spring Day; We Shared Nothing But A Glance” and lead single INFINITE CYNICISM. Prior to their debut, they garnered attention for their producer, fictional former NEWS member HIGUCHI TSUBASA, and for their lineup that contained familiar faces from the jpop and kpop industries. Their debut was met with immediate success, peaking at number one on the Oricon singles chart.

The group was first introduced in mid 2023 through a series of cryptic Instagram posts collaging the past experiences of the members and encouraging fan speculation of the future group members. As the group’s name and concept were finalized and revealed to the public, they faced scrutiny for their similarities to other HYBE boy groups, especially ENHYPEN. Their use of semicolons in the group name and album title was thought to be a direct copy and paste of Enhypen’s hyphens. The darker tones of their singular music video so far and their supernatural concept based on kitsune and gumiho mythology were two more steps too far. One thing still-unnamed Fragment fans will do is fight Engenes. It’s the most excitement they’ve had since they were guessing who would be in the group from cryptic Instagram posts. The other thing they’ll do is argue that Tsubasa and the rest of their production team do, in fact, know how to use a semicolon.

TAKEMOTO AKIRA (2000) — Leader, former member of project kpop group 1V1. Introduced first with:

A shooting star — His defunct personal Instagram user, @.akirakira, where kirakira is the Japanese onomatopoeia for sparkles. A still from Dance Dance Revolution — Arguably his favorite video game. One of his character traits from Last Act into 1V1.

The Dotonbori Glico billboard — A landmark of his hometown, Osaka.

NISHIKAWA RYUJI (2001) — Former member of coed jpop group MAKE MY WAY. Introduced third with:

A series of arrows pointing west — The first character of his surname, which helped define Make My Way’s group name as well.

A honeycomb — Part of the title of Make My Way’s disbandment song, Mitsu no Aji (Taste of Honey). 

A lot of dogs — His back-up career plan to be a veterinarian, which he mentioned many times while in Make My Way.

MOON JINWOO (2002) — Center, former member of 1V1. Introduced sixth with:

The constellation Pleiades — His past experience as a Pledis Entertainment trainee.

The number 10 — His final rank on Last Act, the survival show that formed 1V1.

A game over screen — The title of 1V1’s first and last album.

MORI KAKERU (2002) — Former member of MAKE MY WAY. Introduced second with:

The Shibuya Scramble Crossing — The filming location of his first music video with Make My Way.

Silver accents — His representative color while in Make My Way.

A stock photo of a person running — The first character of his given name, meaning to run.

YONEZAWA DAIKI (2003) — Former JOHNNY’S JR. member. Introduced fifth with:

sypnosis : a girl named kim yn, debuts under hybe with a ton of attention, making her stand out from the rest. she thought it was fine at first, until she was caught off guard and caught in a scandal with one of the groups in hybe labels.

"dazzle! come and gather in the cafeteria in five minutes okay?" manager kang said as we all screamed in excitement, and ran down the flight of stairs to the cafeteria.

we bowed to all the seniors in the cafeteria before finding manager kang, "it's only been two minutes,"

"we're excited.."

"okay then, you guys can sit down and we'll roll the video first?" we all nodded and we agreed to let our youngest, minju, sit in the middle with doyeon and haruka next to her, isabella and i were standing up behind them.

we all waited for our cue before greeting.

"shining in the light, we are dazzle! today, we'll be reacting to our very own debut music video and we'll be showing you our raw reactions!" i said as we all bowed and explained what our group project meant.

"since we have time, i'll be introducing what our group project means. dazzle basically means that we'll shine brightly on stage and that we will awe all of our fans with our hidden charms and charisma!" haruka said as we all agreed and clapped.

"it's five pm, our video should be out by now— here it is! let's all enjoy~" minju clicked on the video and turns out we a ton of people watching too.

as the music video rolls, i noticed how each of my members never failed to serve, literally, they're stunning. they did so well, and our dance parts came on really well as well. as soon as the video ended, we all clapped in happiness.

"woah! i must say, all of us look really great in our debut music video and that we're really just killing it!" doyeon exclaimed with the widest smile on her face.

"i agree! our youngests, yn and minji, their cute charms are shown in the music video too!" isabella added as i slapped her arm lightly and playfully.

"as a leader, i must say that i'm really really happy with how this came out and that our hard work has really paid off! thank you to all our production and directing team." the members and i bowed before we bid goodbyes and ended the video.

"this is really good, like look at haruka unnie's hair at that part! and they showed your sharp nose doyeon unnie, the side angle shooting was weird but it came out really well! my isabella unnie, you look really great as well, you look like an ai! and my youngest, you really killed it. good job, dazzle!" we did a small group hug before we were able to go leave work.

i bid goodbyes to my members before leaving them and walking to the cafeteria, texting the group chat that i was an hour early off work. i sat in the cafeteria and drank my tea while waiting until someone stood in front of me.

"yn-ssi?"

"oh my god, hello, jungwon sunbae." i got up as fast as i could and bowed to him, letting him sit down on the chair opposite mine.

"yoi, just call me jungwon, i thought i told you already~"

"yeah... sorry it's just weird. also, i'm uh sorry if the things i said during live like made fans attack you or anything i really didn't mean it—"

"yn! it's fine, really! and none of the engenes are coming after me lately, they said that you're really kind as well. i actually came to ask you, how's leader life treating you so far?"

"it's okay.. i've been looking through instagram and twitter and some of the comments some fans made were really hurtful saying i wasn't going to be a good leader because i'm only seventeen but i can't say anything can i?"

"hey, you can't let them talk you like that. look at me, i'm nineteen and i'm still a good leader. if you think that you're good enough and nobody around you says otherwise then you are good enough. don't bother all these comments yn."

"ah, thank you jungwon... i'm still so unsure if this is the correct career path for me though..."

"you'll figure that out soon. i have to go soon or else your best friend will start killing everyone in the dance room. can we exchange numbers if you don't mind?"

Kairi made her acting debut at the age of 5-years-old through her role as Rena Michiki, also Tsugumi Suzuhara, in the hit Japan TV series, Mother. Despite being young at the time, this really solidified her impact in the acting industry for upcoming child actors, as she managed to show off that children her age were more than capable of taking roles that weren’t just typical, happy children.

୨୧˚ . ✷ › CONFESSIONS (2010) MOVIE. Portraying Mirai Natsume

Though this role was no big role for Kairi, nor did it play a prominent part in her career, it’s one of her favorites she’s ever had to film her. At the time, she didn’t understand the plot nor did she take any particular interest in it, but after rewatching it as a teenager, she names it as one of her favorites of all time. This movie really changed her preference in TV dramas, and now as a teenager, Kairi overall prefers thrillers over comedies.

୨୧˚ . ✷ › MUROMO NO OKITE (2011) TV SERIES. Portraying Kaoru Sasakura

Admittedly, this series was one of her favorites to film. The cast and production were really kind to her, and she made a life-long friend with her onscreen brother. It’s not really known internationally, and though Engenes have watched it to support her past works, it never garnered enough attention to say “oh, this was a big part of her life.” However, in Japan, the impact of the movie on her career formally determined that Kairi was an incredibly diverse actor for someone of her age.

୨୧˚ . ✷ › BUNNY DROP (2011) MOVIE. Portraying Rin Kaga

Now this film is not amongst her favorites, however it’s one that she thinks about a lot these days. She had a lot of fun filming it back in 2010, but she quite honestly didn’t understand the difference between being someone’s natural child or adopted child, so when she first learned of it, she didn’t like being exposed to how differently a person regarded someone’s child depending on their blood. It really taught her that blood isn’t thicker than water.

୨୧˚ . ✷ › BEAUTIFUL RAIN (2012) TV SERIES. Miu Kinoshita

This one, more than any of the other films or series’ on this list, has really left a mark on her life —— both personally and professionally. She was six at the time of filming, seven when the show was first aired, and only 2 years into her career, but it officially made her a well-respected child actress in the Japanese acting industry. The show itself was really emotional for her, because it heavily reminded her of her grandmother, and therefore a series that she holds very close to heart.

୨୧˚ . ✷ › PACIFIC RIM (2013) MOVIE. Portraying young Mako Mori

Quite honestly, this a movie that Kairi does not really care much for or have any memories of. It did really well in Japan for a couple of weeks after it was released, however, had no impact on Kairi’s career because her role wasn’t that important in anyone’s eyes. That being said, this was the first time Ni-ki ever saw her on screen and the first time he ever had a “celebrity” crush.

୨୧˚ . ✷ › ASHITA, MAMA GA INAI (2014) TV SERIES. Portraying Kirara Sasaki / “Post”

The biggest thing that stayed with Kairi after filming this were the friendships that came with it. The three other leads in the film were all within her age range, and therefore incredibly easy to get along with and form tight bonds with. To this day, Kairi keeps up with them on an almost daily basis, and they’re the first people she visits whenever she’s back in Japan. However, the recognition and initial buzz that followed her name following the release of this series did have a relatively negative impact on her life. Viewers were not appreciative of the inaccurate portrayal of Japanese orphanages and received a lot of criticism from welfare organizations. Kairi didn’t really care because she wasn’t the one who wrote the script and she was only 11 anyways.

୨୧˚ . ✷ › WATASHI WO HANASANAIDE (2016) TV SERIES. Portraying young Kyoko Hoshina

Despite it being fairly recent (not really, but it wasn’t ages ago, either), Kairi has no recollection of ever filming this series nor watching it after it aired. It generally had no impact on her life, and she doesn’t care for it all.

୨୧˚ . ✷ › MIXED DOUBLES (2017) MOVIE. Portraying Nanaki Hidaka

Similarly to the previous listed show, Mixed Doubles is not a movie that Kairi cares much for. Though she enjoyed the filming process and got to film with her first on-screen brother again, she doesn’t remember much of the script or the impact that it had on her life.

୨୧˚ . ✷ › YOUR NAME (2016) ANIME. Voicing Yotsuha Miyamizu

Her first ever voice-acting role, and therefore one she holds very close to heart. Admittedly, prior to getting this role, she hadn’t read the manga series and did not initially understand the huge positive impact it would have on her life. It opened up a whole different world of acting and exposed her works to international audiences, and she’s still receiving praise from fans to this day. Jay, not knowing that she voice acted in the anime, was quite surprised when he heard a younger Kairi start talking on screen.

୨୧˚ . ✷ › ANOHANA: THE FLOWER WE SAW THAT DAY (2017) ANIME. Voicing Meiko Honma / “Menma”

Her favorite voice acting role of all time just because she reread the manga over and over again. When she was first offered the role, she quite honestly lost her mind and fan-girled over it for days after that. She can’t really rewatch the anime without getting weirded out from hearing her voice, but it’s still something she’ll talk about in high regards when recommending animes to her friends.

୨୧˚ . ✷ › POKÉMON THE MOVIE: THE POWER OF US (2018) ANIME. Voicing Margo

Although Kairi does not know a single thing about the Pokémon universe, she recall finding the entire script to this anime extremely funny. It exposed her to international audiences and garnered her more attention from casting agencies. However, this marked her final role in the Japanese acting industry before announcing a halt in any future projects. She moved to Korea soon after, prioritized becoming a trainee, and no longer pursued any acting roles.

୨୧˚ . ✷ › THE KING OF PIGS (2022) K-DRAMA. Potraying Lee Jihyun

Though it was a minor role, and though she was credited as a guest star for the appearances she made, this drama truly blew up Kairi’s popularity in Korea and internationally. This was the first time that most of her viewers were able to see her skills in acting and how diverse she was when it came to her roles. It also marked the end of her acting hiatus, with HYBE Labels stating that she would return to the acting industry while juggling her responsibilities as an idols upon request from her.

୨୧˚ . ✷ › BLUE BIRTHDAY (2024) WEB SERIES. Potraying Oh Harin.

Admittedly, this was her absolute favorite to film because of how comfortable the atmosphere was and because of the friendships she made. Truth be told, she was extremely nervous to be casted as a main lead in a romance-thriller drama —— as was her love interest —— because she didn’t know if it would be well received by Korean Engenes specifically. Either way, she really did enjoy stepping out of her comfort zone when it came to portraying Harin, and learned a lot. It was received well by International audiences, and has called for more casting offers. Kairi and ZEROBASEONE’s Park Gun Wook were casted as the main leads in this drama in early 2024 alongside Park Jihu and Choi Hyunwook.
