learning from the btrtv tumblr space that there are so many references to the monkees tv show makes it even more insane to me that they like. never did a monkees cover on the show AT ALL. like! they did a beach boys cover in the beach episode! they had a whole movie centered around the music of the beatles! but never! ever! a monkees song! for all the girls they go after, i'm a believer could be viable but what do i know

Hey, you know, I found some old deleted storyboards scenes from The Lonely Planet a long time ago, and lemme tell ya, the cottage scene was WAY different from the final project!

In fact, in the animatic for the episode shows part of the deleted scene in full animatic form, it features Janet playing music for Wander and making Wander dance with her:

And here’s the deleted scenes form inside the cottage:

The last one, tho. I can’t even imagine what the dialogue would be if this scene was in the Final Cut…

Again, I wanna stress that this episode was BRUTAL in its messaging. It was so obvious yet so subtle all at once, showing the growth and the downfall of Janet’s obsessive nature (I JUST REALIZED SHE CONTROLS ALL THE NATURE AROUND WANDER AS HER MAIN MANIPULATION TOOL AND OH MY GOD THAT PUN WAS SMOOTH AS HELL) in such a realistic way.

Of course, I can tell these storyboards and the original script’s intent was to push the messaging along a bit more, which in my opinion was fine. It definitely would’ve still worked well, but I think the episode is wonderful as it is. At the end of the day WOY is still a Disney show so I think pushing the message of this episode too much would’ve been detrimental. That’s just me being pessimistic about it tho lol

Overall I think if I saw the storyboards with like voice lines or audio or something like that, then it’d be on par with The Heebie Jeebies in terms of spookiness 👍

There's three that I think about redoing a lot-

These three goofs, they were the first redesigns I did and my style has changed (again ✨) since drawing them

Metal's design 'cause for some reason the more I look at it, the more I hate it (hence why I've never shared this piece)

And Yūrei, I think she's long overdue for a re-draw

Okay i think i finally managed to migrate my OS and data over to my new SSD that i got a year ago (and have been putting off transitioning to for that time), still win10, so i'll see if it runs any better.

Reasons why my neurodivergent ass will not get up for a very long time even when I *really* have to pee:

1. There are more “important” things to do (like blogging about neurodivergence on tumblr - thanks executive dysfunction)

2. Using the bathroom takes wayyyy too many steps???

3. I have to wait till my brain collects enough dopamine to actually get up off the couch and tackle such a task

4. It probably took me at least 15 minutes to get comfortable because of all my sensory issues and weird neck and joint pains and having to pee isn’t quite uncomfortable enough to motivate me to undo all the hard work I did just to be comfy while I scroll

5. I may have just plain forgot that I had to pee in the first place

(Also if my cat is snuggling with me, I will not be moving for the next 3-5 business days or until she leaves, at which point I will probably suddenly realize how uncomfortable I am and get up immediately)

definitely gonna try to make a new account this time around instead of just cleaning up the blog. i've been sick but getting better since tuesday, but i've also been pretty mentally drained since july and emotionally hurt + RSD.

i think my autism and possibly comorbid ADHD makes it difficult to actually output writing and creative things consistently, so i just procrastinate, and i usually have a lot of ideas in my head but i think outputting those can be difficult and i'd like to try new strategies to help output

but how does the email thing work again for tumblr? so i dont have to go through making a new email :think:

I definitely should continue more on the Psycho Siren arc instead of all those other things I probably won’t finish. Now, I know that it’s gonna be tough because, well, I just like to challenge myself and see if I can create the most darkest piece of fiction known to man. I’ve already gotten some art done for it, but I’ll drop it in a single post/individually instead of mashed into one.
